Inside the Lanayru Mining Facility, everything was old, the metal rusted and covered in sand, but it wasn't nearly as disatrous as the buildings outside, in fact Nika could have just stretched to go over each and every obstacle, but being hasty wasn't a good idea here.
The spirit of the sword spoke up as Nika entered the facility "Master, in my memory stored the knowledge that a book hidden by the Goddess is located in this structure, I would suggest searching for it before heading to the temple.", Nika nodded as she looked around the first room, but besides a few scorpions and a chest containing some rupees, there was nothing else.
In the next room there was a weird three-headed monster that just wouldn't die, it was clear by the fourth attempt that all three heads needed to be destroyed to kill it, so Nika activated Acceleration Engine, managing to hit all the heads befoire they could grow back, but something was clearly wrong, after the technique wore off, Nika felt a bit drained, it wasn't anything excessive, so she just brushed it off.
With the monster dead, Nika could look around and saw that he room was just to give access to three other doors, she broke the lock off one and entered a room that seemed to be a transportation center, it would have taken longer for Nika to traverse it, but by stretching, she reached the other side where a door was waiting for her.
Crossing this door revealed a room full of boxes, if a book full of knowledge was hidden somewhere, it would most likely be here, the first thing she checked was the chest at the top of the boxes, and by some divine miracle, she found the book.
The title was 'the secrets of ambition', "Ambition? Sword thing! Explanation please!" Nika exclaimed and the spirit spoke" Ambition is what people called inner power in the past.", Nika didn't really get it, so she proceeded to read the book, it talked about the basics of what ambition is, but it wasn't enough to actually use it.
"I'm doing exactly what it says, but nothing... I should keep trying, maybe I'll get it at some point..." Nika thought before putting the book away and starting to go around the facility, she met a few enemies in the rooms she went into, but she didn't use her sword to attack them, instead she used only her fists, using a sword would make learning this ambition thing harder than needed.
While going around, there was something she noticed, the place was full of scorpions, "Spirit! What's going on with these things? This is the tenth room I went into and I'm still meeting them." Nika asked, worried about their pale look, "It appears that these creatures known as Arachas are larvae of creatures-" The spirit was going to continue, but Nika interrupted, having heard enough already "Larvae!? What are the adults like!?" She proceeded to ask in a panic.
The spirit stayed quiet for a moment before answering "The adults are known as Moldaraches, they reached the size of two Loftwings put together, their skin turned black and hardened significantly, I detect the presence of one in this structure.", hearing that there was one there made Nika a bit nauseous, "Oh. My. Why?" She muttered as she moved on in the next room.
This room contained the key for the last door and not wanting to risk meeting this creature, Nika just stretched to reach the end, defeated the two monsters guarding the key and took it, she then took a door that led to the center of the facility where the door was.
Stretching of course, she arrived at the door, placed the key in the slot and went in, the room was full of sand, giving a bad feeling to Nika, "Sand... The little ones stay in the sand... Oh no..." She thought, before she saw the scorpion jump out of the sand, "I hate this place." Nika cried a bit as she said that.
Thousand-Year Arachnid, Moldarach.
"I hope I achieve that ambition thing quickly, I want out..." Nika thought as she activated Acceleration Engine, faster than the scorpion could see, she hit it with a punch, a kick, she even took out her sword to try and slice it's claw off, but still nothing, she even made it vibrate, absolutely nothing, "Why isn't this working!?" Nika panicked at not being able to damage the scorpion.
In a hurry, she used Pneumatic Engine, but the moment she hit it, it just got buried in the sand, undamaged, Nika quickly let out the air to avoid being shrunk down for too long, it was only for three seconds, but it was still too much time, the Moldarach caught her with it's claw and threw her across the room.
Being rubber allowed Nika to brush the impact off, but being caught still hurt, it wasn't all bad though, she saw that there was an eye in the pincher, it was obvious what she at to do at this point, she sheated her sword back and hit the eye, causing the claw to break.
The same was for the other eye, but it looked like the scorpion learned from it's mistake, striking quickly and pulling away to avoid getting hit, to circumvent this, Nika activated Acceleration Engine and aimed for the eye, "Slinger Fest!" She exclaimed, swinging her arm causing it to stretch in an instant and blow the eye off.
It went well so far, the Moldarach opened it's main eye and Nika was about to hit with another Slinger Fest, but Acceleration Engine deactivated all of a sudden, "What!? No way! You can't be serious!?" Nika questioned nobody in particular, this moment of distraction was enough for the Moldarach to strike with it's stinger, sending Nika crushing against the wall.
"Damnit! Of course this happened! It may be a power up, but it makes me burn through energy way too quickly! I should have stopped at SKyloft to rest!" Nika scolded herself realizing she had no one to blame, but herself, she was truly in danger, but she did one last ditch effort, she readied her fist and exclaimed "Savage Blow!".
In this moment, something happeneed that she didn't expect, her hand turned black, this made her remember something she read in the book, 'Ambition gets stronger in moments of grave danger', and this was more than grave danger.
Feeling what ambition was like, Nika knew she would have no trouble using it again, so she smiled and corrected the name of the attack she was about to use, "Scorpion Blow!" She exclaimed, slamming her ambition covered hand against the Moldarach's now closed eye, breaking it into pieces.
After the Moldarach exploded, the sand in the room started descending, revealing one last door, "This is it then... I have to admit, it was fun." Nika said, reminiscing on what happened, but stopped, realizing it was time to move on to the end.
The room was dark, the only things there were a broken down cart, a bottomless fall, and a time stone hung on the ceiling, "One last challenge huh?" Nika mused as she used the beetle to hit the stone, causing the entire room to light up and activating the cart.
Nika got on it and thought "See you soon, Zelda."
