Hey! It's been a minute since I've posted a new chapter, so here I am! Like usual, I don't know what I'd do without my girls JustCherry73, wwechristina and GoldenGirl1920, so here is my shoutout to them! I love y'all so much!
I don't own anyone affiliated with the WWE. I own Maddie, Susie and the storyline.
Enjoy!
Allen POV
"Dude, you are so whipped. It's actually comical. I never thought I'd see you wrapped around the finger of a woman. ANY woman. And here Maddie is domesticating the hell outta you by asking for you to get her tampons on your way home," Karl snickers and I sock him hard in the shoulder causing him to cry out.
"Ow, ya dick! That actually hurt," Karl whined, rubbing where I hit him and I grin with a hearty laugh.
"Hey, you deserved it with you accusin' me of being whipped. I'm not whipped…I'm in love ya fucker," I retort happily, my grin growing when I think about my girl, but it turns into a small frown when I think about her at home laying on the couch in pain. I offered to stay home with her, but she insisted that I go to work and that she would be fine. With some argument, I finally relented and went to work.
On my lunch break though, I do plan on going home to check on her and make sure she's comfortable. Maddie's been staying with me for the past week ever since she found out what her father did. She still has yet to speak to him and refuses to until she's ready; even though I've tried to convince her to go talk to him, she hasn't budged.
I'm broken from my thought's when Luke begins to speak. "It's almost Christmas, have you thought about what you're going to get for her?" He asks, rolling under the current car he is doing an oil change on. I shrug, but then realize he can't see me and I release a heavy sigh.
"I really don't know, man. I mean I know what I want to get her, but I don't wanna freak her out, thinking that I'm movin' too quickly. I already asked her to move in with me…" I reply and Karl interrupts while Luke rolls out from under the car and I suddenly have their full and undivided attention.
"Holy shit, what did she say?" He asks and I smile just a little bit at her response.
"She said she would…but only when the time is right," I explain, earning myself confused looks from both men. "I'll admit, she's with me more than she is at home, which probably isn't the best idea considering her father's condition. He has been getting worse as the days go by and Maddie won't even speak to him after what she's learned he'd done. I've tried to convince her to go talk to him, but she won't budge. But to answer your question, once he's…passed is when she'll officially move in with me. We agreed on that," I finish.
"Wow…" Karl responds and I release a deep breath through my nose.
"Yeah. And it's been a little difficult considering how he feels about me. Especially now that I've told Mad that he killed both my parents. I don't think he wanted her to know. At least not while he was alive and now…" I said with a shrug, taking my hat off and run my hand through my hair before placing it back in place.
"It's gonna be even harder to deal with when she does eventually talk to him," Luke replies and I nod my head. "Are you going to be with her when she does?" He asks.
"Only if she wants me to be. I know it's going to be hard on her…on both of them, but if she doesn't want me there with her, then I'm going to respect her wishes," I reply.
"Well, I hope everything works out for you in the end. But you never did answer my question about what you're gonna get Maddie for Christmas," Luke replied back and the solemn mood in the air lifts and I grin at his change in subject.
"I'm torn between getting her a diamond necklace or a ring. I really wanna get her the ring, but while we both know what we want with each other…I don't wanna freak her out with her thinkin' that I'm proposin' only after bein' together for a month and a half. Even though I want nothin' more than to marry her. Hell, I've already thought about what it would be like if she were pregnant with my child," I tell them and Karl chokes on his drink of soda while Luke looks at me like I've gone crazy.
"I know what y'all are thinkin'. But she's it for me guys. I don't want anyone else and that feeling is mutual for her," I explain myself and Luke is first to recover.
"Well if your heart is set on the ring, why not just make it a promise ring. You two are attached at the hip and I've never seen you more happy than you are now. Maddie means a lot to me, I love her like a little sister; I'd love it if she became a part of our little family," Luke says and I nod my head, liking that idea. A lot actually.
"A promise ring. I never thought of that. Thanks Gallows," I grin then look at my watch, noticing the time is almost 1pm. "Hey, I'm gonna take my break now and go check up on Mads. Make sure she's doin' alright," I inform them and I don't wait for their responses.
Hopping into the truck, I make a quick stop to the convince store and Missy's to grab what I need to for Maddie. I know she only requested the tampons, but I did some research on what I can give Maddie to help with her cramps and every website had recommended chamomile tea. I grab the tea first before walking into the convenience store and find Miss Susie finishing up with a customer.
She looks up and over at me, a smile gracing her face as her eyes light up when they land on me. "Allen, honey. It's been a bit. How have you been? Where is Maddie?" She asks, pulling me into a hug that I gladly return.
"Hi Miss Susie. I've been good; great actually," I reply with a grin before adding, "but Maddie is at home. She's not feeling well, so I'm going to check up on her now. I'm actually here to grab some tampons for her…umm, could you?" I ask her, my facing flaming up from embarrassment in not knowing what I'm looking for.
Miss Susie leaves from behind the counter with a chuckle and walks down the far aisle, "follow me, sweetie. I take it that's why she's not feeling well. You know not many men will come out and do what you're doing right now. Then again, you're a keeper and I know Maddie chose right with you," she tells me and I produce a small grin on my face.
"Thanks Miss Susie. That means a lot to hear that comin' from you. I try my best," I reply as I'm lead towards the feminine products.
"Well, you're doing something right. So whatever it is, keep doing it. Since knowing Maddie, I've never seen her as happy as she is now then when she first started," she tells me and my grin grows wider.
"Oh, I plan on it. I'm not lettin' her go. Ever," I respond and grab the box color Maddie told me to get for her and follow Miss Susie back to the front to pay for them.
"Take care, sweetheart and I'll see you later. Send Maddie my get well wishes," she tells me and I promise her I'll relay the message. Getting back into my truck, I drive the small distance back to the house and quietly walk into the living room, finding Maddie curled up on the sofa, asleep with wrestling playing on the tv in the background.
Setting the bags onto the coffee table next to me, I get down onto my knees in front of Maddie and find a small frown on her face. I gently pet her hair, tucking it behind her ear before pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Hey, darlin', can you wake up for me?" I ask quietly as I softly caress her cheek with my thumb.
After a few moments, Maddie's eyes flutter open and land sleepily onto mine. "Allen?" She whispers, groggily and goes to sit up. I help her, knowing she's hurting.
"Hey, darlin'. How're you feelin', baby?" I ask her, rubbing my hand up and down her arm with a smile.
"The same as when you left this morning. I've been in and out of sleep since," she replies before sucking in a sudden breath and leans over, grabbing my forearm with one hand while her other rests over her lower stomach. The painful moan that leaves her mouth kills me because I know there is nothing I can do to get rid of it for her.
"Easy baby…that's it," I coo as I help her sit back up. I take the seat next to her and Maddie instantly curls up into my side, her body stiff from the pain. I wrap an arm around her shoulder and hold her close, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay? I know Luke would understand. I hate seeing you like this and I wanna do whatever I can to help you," I say quietly as Maddie readjusts her positioning.
"I'm sure…you–you need to work, Allen," she protests, her voice weak and I've already made up my mind.
"Maybe. But I also need to play my role as boyfriend and take care of my girlfriend when she's not feeling well," I reply, then add, "you stay here and I'll go get you some tea and a couple of Tylenol. I did a little bit of research and read the chamomile tea helps with cramps. I'm also calling Luke and telling him I'm staying here with you. You need me more right now than they do," I tell her and she weakly nods.
"I love you," Maddie replies quietly, sitting up so I can get to my feet.
"I love you, too, darlin'. Now just relax and I'll be right back," I order her softly and she nods her head again with a small smile.
Going into the kitchen, I boil some water for Maddie's tea as I grab her some Tylenol and a bottled water. I bring them to her and she takes both items from me, "thank you," Maddie says quietly and I press another kiss to her forehead.
"You're welcome, baby," I reply, making my way back into the kitchen to fetch her tea while I call Luke.
"Hey brother, everything okay?" Luke asks the second he answers.
"Yeah man. I hate to do this to you, but she's still not feelin' well and I don't wanna leave her alone…" I begin to explain, but he cuts me off.
"No worries, dude. Take care of your girl and I'll see you tomorrow. Send Mads my love," Luke replies.
"Thanks Gallows, I owe you and I will. She'll appreciate it," I reply and hang up with him just in time for the water to go off alerting me that it's ready for Maddie's tea. Making her cup, I bring it to her and she looks up at me with a grateful smile. "Here you go, darlin'. Just be careful; it's really hot," I say, handing it to her before taking my spot next to her once more.
"Thank you, baby. You're the best," Maddie says, taking it from me and blows a little on the steaming liquid before taking a small sip.
"You're welcome. I love you and I just want to make sure you're comfortable. Luke sends his love by the way," I say and pull her into my arms when she places the tea onto the coffee table.
Maddie smiles at that, "when you talk to him again, tell him I love him back," she replied, gingerly wrapping an arm around my torso as she rests her head on my chest. Craning her neck, Maddie looks up at me with a smile, "why are you so perfect?" She asks me and a provide her with a pained smile.
"I'm anything but, baby. But I'm perfect for you. Just like you're perfect for me," I reply.
Maddie purses her lips before smiling gently and I press my lips to hers. "Well, you're perfect to me and I love you more than anything, Allen Jones. Thank you for taking care of me."
"Oh darlin', you know I'd do anythin' for you and takin' care of you when you're not feelin' well is high on the list," I reply, reaching up to stroke her cheek with my thumb. If there is anyone perfect in this world, it's the woman in my arms. She's changed me for the better in so many more ways than one in the short time that I've know her and for that I'll be forever grateful to her.
"I'm hoping being by my side when I go talk to my dad is one of them?" Maddie asked, looking up at me with wide, hopeful eyes.
"You're ready to talk to him?" I ask back and she subtly nods her head, "then I'll be there. No questions asked." I reply and Maddie beams up at me, pressing a kiss to my cheek.
"I love you," she says quietly.
"I love you, darlin'. More than anythin'," I reply, smiling into the soft kiss I press to her lips before Maddie puts her attention back onto the TV and within minutes, she's asleep again.
