Season 2: Episode 20
There had been much speculation and buzz around town later that day when the people found out that Clementine Hutchison was in fact alive and back in town. She had reunited with her parents, a tearful reunion that was flooded with relief when they learned that the monstrous stalker Chapman had been killed, that nightmare was over, he'd never bother them again. To put speculation to rest, Clementine agreed to a press conference where she made a prepared speech to explain that the whole incident with her disappearance and even her death being faked, all to try and protect and hide her from the stalker who was after her. Clementine whole heartedly apologized for the deception and pain all this had caused. Luckily, hearing the reasoning behind everything that happened, the townspeople were forgiving, in so far as none of them had anything negative to say towards Clementine, although it was clear many of them would still need time to adjust to the fact she was still alive and back in town. But right now, Clementine was only concerned with four people in particular.
Becca bit her lip as she sat up in her hospital bed, she was thinking back to the incident and was, to put it bluntly, confused.
'It was terrifying yes, and humiliating...but, it's strange, something about it felt, different. That part where he had me, all tied up.' She thought to herself. 'Why do I keep thinking about that part and why does it make me feel so...so strange?'
She sighed and shook her head, focusing instead on the others, Violet was much calmer now, but still seemed to be blushing a little. Brody and Sarah were like her, certainly recovered and looking forward to being released.
"Vi…" She began softly.
Violet bit her lip and looked around at the others. "It's...it's nothing guys, I just, I still feel freaked out about the things he said about me. I mean, Clem heard everything, didn't she?"
"Vi, you shouldn't-" Brody began.
But then the door to the ward opened and Sarah gasped.
"Clem!"
They all looked and sure enough, Clem had entered the room, smiling at them. Lily stood in the doorway but said nothing, just leaned against it.
"I'm sorry about all this, you guys." She said at last. "I know I've put you all through a lot of pain. I couldn't...I didn't have any other options however."
"We understand why you did it." Sarah said softly.
Brody nodded. "Yeah, we saw the conference too, you pretty much explained it."
"Not all of it." Clementine remarked. "Not the whole thing."
That was when Lily reacted, a sharp intake of breath.
Clementine glared over her shoulder at the woman who was also glaring and shaking her head.
Shaking her head Clem spoke again. "Lily here and her...people, helped me. Helped me as they did before, it was them who moved my family and I here. Then with this, they helped me disappear and fake my death, all to try and keep Chapman away."
Violet sighed. "But it didn't work...he came after us to lure you out. He was...it was you wasn't it, the person I saw when I was swimming that time, you left the note warning me."
Clementine nodded. "Yeah. I was also the one who was messaging you guys, trying to warn you. It was a...concession."
She glanced at Lily as she said that part, Lily merely snorted but kept watching with narrowed eyes. Brody caught this and bit her lip, it was clear something was still being hidden, but she couldn't quite place what.
Regardless she smiled. "But, he's dead now, you're back...is this going to, cause complications, or problems, I mean...so many things have happened since everyone thought you were dead?"
"I...no." Clementine said at last.
That was when Lily finally spoke. "I've already spoken to the relevant people. It's all sorted out. As of tomorrow, Clementine will be able to go back to her life in this town like normal."
Something about her expression made it seem like she found such a thing distasteful, but she said nothing about it.
Clementine nodded. "I'm just sorry I caused you guys so much pain and danger."
"Well, we faced it, together. Now you're back...and if anything else happens, let's all face it together, yeah?" Becca replied.
The others all nodded and smiled, relief flooding them, things were finally looking up. A hope that grew even stronger as they were finally released from the hospital and, after Lily left and the others reassured their families, the five girls walked away together, Clem smirked.
"By the way girls, you guys rocked those schoolgirl looks."
They all laughed, blushing yet appreciative, all now hopeful for the future.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
