A/N: Hello again, everyone! How are you doin'?

Spencer had been on the treadmill for thirty minutes, swinging the black arm weight he had recently bought back and forth. He decided he'd done enough for the day and ended the workout session. Stepping off the treadmill and checking his pulse, he walked over to the console table and had a bottled water.
He stared at his watch, and it was a few minutes past noon, meaning Séraphine and Isaac would be waking up from their afternoon nap and left the gym for the elevator, stepping in and pushing the button to go up to the main floor.
After getting off, he ambled down the hallway to get to the kitchen, only to find Élise there, fixing lunch. Élise turned and waved, "Hey, babe…" she wandered away from the island, embraced Spencer, and kissed his cheek. He caught a whiff of his scent and felt his muscles. "Workin' out?"
"Mmm-hmm." Spencer finished the rest of his water and threw the bottle into the recyclable. His hazel eyes caught the condiment bottles, vegetables, and bread on the countertops. "Making lunch?"
"I got a head start…" said Élise, screwing back the cap of the PB&J jar. "You want a PB&J or a deconstructed BLT? Or a salad I put together…?"
"I'll take the salad, thank you." Spencer turned around and saw the plastic salad bowl container that was sitting behind him on the countertop next to the sink. He took off the lid and looked inside. "What kind of salad you made?"
Élise listed the ingredients she put. "Tofu, tempeh, chickpeas, arugula, kale, soy sauce, edamame."
Spencer poked at the tofu and tempeh square with a clean fork he grabbed from the drawer and ate it. "Mmm…" he licked his mouth. "Is there tamari on the…?"
Élise knew what she meant. "And maple syrup," she topped the bread on two of the BLT sandwiches before feeling a vibration that came from her pants pocket. She pulled it out and checked the screen. When she saw it was an email notification, she tapped on the screen with her thumb, and it drew her to the email.
"Oooh…" the email she got caught her attention.
Spencer was finished scooping some salad on his plate when he saw Élise's intrigued face staring at the screen. He asked, "You okay…?"
Élise showed him her phone screen, and his mouth dropped. "You got an invitation…"
"To attend the International Women in Power Conference…in Reykjavík, Iceland in May."
Spencer took Élise by her hand, drew her closer to him, and kissed her head. "I'm proud of you, Ms. AG."
Élise kissed his cheek again. "Aw, thank you so much."
Élise was in her home office, double checking the speech she'll be giving tomorrow Monday morning about the rise of drug and prescription painkiller overdose deaths. She squinted at the clock in the corner of her computer and saw it was seven. Élise figured she pack in since she needed a good night's rest and had to get up super early.
Since Élise turned the alarm volume on off, she wondered to see if she had any last-minute messages. She picked it up and grasped that she had two messages. One was a missed message from Arthur, who's currently in St. Croix with Bea for his birthday weekend. She clicked on the message and strolled around through the pictures he sent her, from the house that was being renovated to her other family members that she hadn't seen since the wedding but also kept in touch with them. Now, she had her hand on her chin. It's been a hell of a long time since she's actually been in St. Croix. She hasn't been there since she was a child.
She remembered visiting her extended family there, going to the beach, and picking the fruit that grew around her late paternal grandparents' place.
Perhaps maybe she and Spencer will do something different this year and go to St. Croix.
She saw the second message, and it was from Helena Hagen, the mother of Ronnie Leon, who attended Séraphine's birthday a week ago.
Hello, Élise. It's Helena. If you're not too busy, would you like to come to my place for a playdate this Saturday with the kids and get to know each other better?
Yawning while pouring a fresh cup of coffee into her mug, Élise still felt a bit sleepy in her head—almost anyone would be if they'd been up since five something in the morning. She put in an early breakfast and a short workout since she needed to get to Main Justice early to prepare to give her speech.
Élise took a sip when she heard the kitchen door swinging—it was Spencer in his workout gear. "You gonna work out?" she obviously guessed.
"I'm actually going to work out with Garcia," Spencer said, getting a couple of berry granola bars from the snack bowl in the counter corners. "Since we both need to prepare for it this week."
"I'm surprised Garcia has to take it." Élise poured a cup of coffee for Spencer. "She's not even in the field, but…" she shrugged her shoulders while going into the fridge and pulled the blender that had half of the yogurt and berry smoothie she had made half an hour ago. "Bureaucracy at its finest. Well, as your AG..." she poured some of it into a cup.
"No special treatment." Spencer reminded Élise of the deal that she would not give him or even the team any kind of special treatment as Attorney General to keep an unbiased playing field. Élise nodded, backed off after giving him a cup, and watched him take a sip. "Delicious."
Finishing their second day of training, Spencer and Garcia got a text message from Hotch, alerting them of a case.
After a meeting, Élise got a message from Spencer that he and the team would be heading to Milwaukee.
At the M.E.'s office in Wisconsin, Spencer and Rossi discovered that two of the victims were bitten by a human, and the first one was not. Gathering back at the police station, Garcia got info on the first victim, making Spencer quickly realize that the unsub is purposely spreading rabies.
Soon the team delivered the profile.
"Hey, Maeve," Élise had a phone conversation with Maeve. "Did you get a text message from Helena about a playdate at her place?"
"Yeah, I did," said Maeve. "Are you planning on going?"
Élise shrugged her shoulders. "Of course, and hopefully, Spencer will be back by then. And since I'm still thinking about going to that conference in Iceland, maybe she could help me say a word or two in Icelandic. Isn't her family from the Nordic countries?"
Maeve answered, "Yeah."
"I'm not gonna lie; she looks me more like natural Barbie than that Belinda chick at Patricia's charity."
Maeve burst into snickers and snorted once. "Élise! You're not wrong, you know. Just looking at those women reminded me of the Heathers. Or the Plastics from Mean Girls."
"Or those girls from Recess, who'd say 'Scandalous,'" said Élise and brushed off a chill that came before her. "Just thinking of high school now makes me say, 'ew.'"
Maeve sighed. "I know. Horrible. Girls like them would be the reason I'd never go back to high school. Ever."
"I so don't miss the high school years."
As the team had Culver's for dinner, Garcia discovered a rabies case in Wisconsin involving a young boy years ago who has an older brother.
Raiding his place and finding a book on rabies, it was safe to say that the team found their unsub.
Élise woke up to the sound of her phone vibrating. She stared at the time, and it was seven in the morning, and clicked on the message notification.
STILL WORKING ON THE CASE. LOVE YOU AND THE KIDS. P.S. – MAKE SURE OPAL'S BEEN VACCINATED.
Élise made an amused face and replied back.
LOVE YOU TOO AND OKAY.
"Mommy…!" Seraphine and Isaac, still in their pajamas, burst through the door.
Élise chuckled when she threw the comforters aside, and borderline forced herself out of bed and stretched. "Hello…" after she was done, she asked, "Who wants pancakes for breakfast?"
"We do!" Seraphine and Isaac raised their hands, jumping up and down, and got all excited. "We do!"
Élise had her hands on her back again as she led the children out of the room, and they followed her downstairs.
The team caught the unsub, saved, and successfully cured his latest victim, but his other victim slipped into a coma and died. After Morgan and Spencer were allowed to check out of the hospital, the team left for D.C.
"I'm home!" Spencer cried as he stepped into the house. "And I brought treats!" he shook a medium-sized white bag and took a few more steps before stepping into the living room, only to find Opal in the corner, sleeping. "Hey, girl…" he squatted and petted her fur. "How've you been?"
Opal purred in response. "I can see you're doing good." Spencer started inspecting her fur. "You're not feeling itchy, scratchy, or have some kind of worm or bites, huh?" This case reminded him to make sure Opal has daily routine checkups.
"Hello?" Spencer heard Rose's voice and stubby footsteps. "Spencer?"
Spencer said, still petting Opal's fur. "I'm in here!"
"Daddy…!" Seraphine and Isaac piled on top of him, attempting to hug him. "You're back!"
Spencer hugged them back and kissed their heads. "I'm always glad to be home with you all…"
Élise sat at a bench across the men's locker room, on her phone, waiting for Spencer to come out. She got her workload done early and had just given a speech at a national association meeting and leadership conference.
The door swung open, and out came Spencer, dressed in a black long-sleeve hoodie with the FBI symbol on the back, fleece pants, and Converses. Élise smiled when she saw him come out. She stood up tall, straightened her blazer, and ambled beside him.
"Hey, you."
"Hey—ugh…" Spencer groaned when he saw Élise and massaged his sore arms. "Oh…"
Élise asked, "You okay?"
A moan came out of Spencer's mouth, and he moved his hand to his stomach. "Morgan…" he hissed. "He waived Garcia, and I's fitness test, and he didn't tell us until after our mile and a half run…there's a reason why you shouldn't exercise too much in one day. And why we will never send our children to boot camp."
Élise curled her mouth up, seething. "Really? Wait until I get my hands on that fool…" she whispered to herself, not wanting her detail to hear.
"No-no," Spencer waved it away. "Garcia and I already found a way to get back at him. He'll see what we have in store for him on Monday."
Élise had a mischievous smile on her face.
Spencer and Élise took Séraphine to the Leon house for a playdate with the other kids.
Spencer was at his desk, coolly reading when his eyes spotted Morgan walking into the bullpen with his bag over his shoulder. He saw Spencer as he was walking by.
"Hey, Pretty Ricky." Morgan greeted him with a smirk.
Spencer replied back, "Hey…"
Morgan patted his shoulder. "You're not still at me that I tricked you and Garcia?"
"Nope," Spencer answered, pursing his mouth up. "Not at all…" soon, studying his watch, his and Garcia's prank to get back at him would be happening in three-two-one…
Soon Morgan's phone rang Let It Go from the Disney Frozen movie. It was loud enough to gain some of the other agents' attention. "Huh…" Morgan seemed confused before answering it, nevertheless. "Hello…" he pulled his phone away and made a what-the face when it rang Do You Want to Build a Snowman, making a couple of the agents, even Spencer, giggle, though he didn't show it.
Morgan scoffed when he hung up. "What the…?" he groaned again when Let It Go played and Do You Want to Build a Snowman when he answered. "The…?" he had a confused look on his face until he saw Spencer coolly turning the page and had a coy look on his face.
"Ha-ha…" now Morgan got it. "You two are sooo funny…" he turned his phone off and pointed at him. "It's on, pretty boy…" he headed for his office.
What until you see what we did to your computer, Spencer said in his head.
A/N: I decided to skip The Edge of Winter, but maybe add in an April's Fool Day moment or two.
