As I got to a village close to the Arc mansion, two guards stopped me
"stop right there; what are you doing with Jaune Arc's son?" the guard asked me
I glared at him and took the note out. "Jaune Arc is dead, and he gave me the right to care for his son."
Someone from the village heard this and dropped to his knees, saying, "The dragon slayer is dead." as if his god had abandoned them.
I swallowed saliva, and my hands started sweating. Everyone saw me as the enemy, but I had to be strong and give these people hope, and in that moment, I remember my teacher's words.
"People have goals; those goals allow them to move forward. If you take their goals away, there is nothing to follow." I remember I'll give them a new goal to follow.
"This child is my teacher's son, the air to the Arc family's power and their heirloom! Listen to me and listen well. This child will be strong, even stronger than his father! Because his father believed in him, and I do too! I'm Jaune Arc's only student." I yelled to the villagers.
The villagers looked at the kid, and the kid stared back at them with a bright smile, a smile that made everyone's problems disappear.
"And I will make sure that he is safe and protected from danger while he is in such a vulnerable state." I let the baby rest on my hands. The boy grabbed my shirt and never let go; I looked at the villagers with a smile. "Anyway, I need supplies for the road."
I almost died going home; I almost died returning to her arms, the light of my life, Summer.
I managed to ask Summer out on our first year of Beacon, she accepted, and somehow, my semblance didn't affect her. Maybe it's her semblance, or maybe her eyes, the signature ability of the Rose family; everything evil is countered by her eyes, even bad luck, I guess; I never asked.
She is everything to me, and since summer can't have kids. Jaune was and will always be her beloved son.
I had a sister and her husband, Raven, and Taiyang; after they got married, they conceived a little girl with the same eyes and black hair as my sister, but my sister died a year ago on a mission where her body never returned.
I saw what happened to Tai after that, to little Raven, that was her name, Raven, just like my sister, she had a short temper, but with jaune, she would follow him to the ends of the world, she protected him, and he will protect her.
When my sister died, Tai was devastated. Sometimes, he cried for weeks. He barely ate. This kept going for five years. We were starting to worry he would kill himself until jaune one day sat next to him and said.
"Did you know I can see dead people with my eyes." jaune said, his eyes were shining a dark blue light.
"yes, that is an ability that the Arc's have."
"Then I want you to know that Auntie Raven is sitting next to you, and she is really mad." jaune sounded too serious to be a joke; this is why we all knew this statement was true; this was a 5-year-old child.
"Why is she mad?" Tai asked.
"Because you are being an idiot." jaune said with balls bigger than the whole planet. "you stop caring about your well-being, and you are also neglecting your daughter, the last thing that connects you with your wife. You might be suffering, but what about her brother? What about her daughter? They are also suffering, but they are trying to live on in honor of your wife." jaune said. Everyone looked down, but jaune kept looking right next to Tai.
"in her words, I didn't marry a bich." jaune said; his eyes went back to normal, and he got off the couch. Jaune then walked back towards me and asked me to pick him up with a smile.
I hold him by the armpits, pick him up and then wrap my arm around his little butt for support and hold him close to my chest; jaune then fell asleep in my arms.
Summer hugged me, wrapped her arm around my waist, and touched Jaune's forehead with hers.
"My poor baby, he is tired." Summer said, taking jaune gently from me.
Jaune snuggles closer to summer and lets out a little grunt.
A few weeks later, jaune was playing with Raven. Usually, Raven was always serious, never laughed, and didn't act like a 5-year-old, but with jaune, she always loved to play mom and dad. Jaune didn't mind playing, but this was the only game Raven liked to play when jaune could play with her when he wasn't training his eyes with summer.
Summer and Jaune's eyes were similar, triggered by extreme emotions, so she tried to teach him how to control them.
He was not ready to start training fiscally.
In the Rose family, ruthless combat is necessary; they are trained to kill and exterminate, and in the ex-arc family, their training was mainly for self-defense and killing Grimm; this is why the Arc family was stronger; they waited for an opening and then struck, not like the rose family.
Jaune has always shown the Arc spirit. He always waited for other children to try to hit him first.
That was his excuse, hehe; every time I yelled at him, he would always be like. "But dad, they try to hit me first."
But there is another story. Let me tell you the story of Summer Rose and her sister.
In the rose family, when twins are born, one is born from the combined hatred of both parents, and the other one is born from the love of said parents.
Said parents love one, and the other one is the shame of the family; this was ruby rose and summer rose.
Ruby was born from hate, so she was perfect to win battles the way the Rose family liked.
Summer was neglected, but she was the one whose eyes became more powerful than anyone in the Rose family.
Because their eyes aren't meant for hate.
Long story short, Summer left her home to be a huntress, and her sister married a strong man and had one girl named after her...
Ruby Rose.
Jaune is growing perfectly as his father. I am so proud of the boy he has become.
Today, Jaune is 8, and he is now Raven's fiance, haha. Jaune was talking to his mom and hugging her like usual, but Raven seemed a bit jealous and tried to take jaune away forcefully from his mother.
We also started training jaune fiscally in the morning, and then in the evening, jaune meditates right next to a waterfall close to our home.
When he meditates, the veins next to his eyes bulge as if he were flexing them; the weird part is that Grimm never gets close to him; they actually run far away from the zone.
When we get close to him, walking feels heavy; it feels like something is pressing against our chest.
But we love jaune, and whenever jaune falls asleep meditating, we are always carrying him back home; he always said that he feels his eyes really heavy if he turns on and off his eyes abilities multiple times.
I can only feel proud, and whenever Summer is close to me, I always say, "Oh my god, he can use his eyes at will." and the only thing she can do is rub my arm and smile.
Jaune is usually not that expressive with his mom, but when I compliment him or tell him he is doing great, his smile never disappears, and when I yell at him, he takes it like a grown-up and tries not to make the same mistake.
As he continued, jaune became a fantastic fighter and an amassing son.
When he turned 12, jaune started training with the Arc's heirloom. When he touched it, jaune described it as it was natural; it felt as if he already knew how to use it.
But he still needed to make some muscles. He did this all without aura, although any other kid has aura unlocked at age 12.
Jaune couldn't, mostly because of his eyes. His eyes didn't allow him to experience any fight-or-flight emotion. His aura was never awakened.
This is why there is one arc left; all arc's were exterminated and stabbed from behind their backs by the Rose family; they have to see someone precious to them die to unlock their aura. Most of the time, it was the father, but there is a legend one among all of the remnant legends.
It said that it had happened in the past, and it said that Jaune Arc was the only man capable of awakening their aura with love, and not with death.
I believe jaune can do it, not because he is like his father but because he will be better than him.
