Lucas looks up from his phone when he saw the front door open and sees Nathan walking in. Lucas raised his brow for a moment as he checked the time." Um, don't dates usually last longer then twenty minutes?" Lucas ask as he chuckled." What happened?"
" Well, according to Brooke. Haley wasn't feeling well to go out. So she cancelled on me." Nathan took off his jacket and hungs his keys on the hook. He walks into the kitchen and over to the fridge and grabs a cold beer. After closing the fridge door and opens the bottle. Nathan took a seat in the chair as he took a drink of his beer.
" So, wait a minute. Haley just cancelled on you in the last minute?" Lucas asks as he set his phone down.
Nathan nods his head as he rests the beer on his knee." I don't know what happened. One minute I am standing out side her door looking forward to take her out and the next thing, I know. Brooke tells me Haley has a headache all of sudden." Nathan shook his head." I just don't understand."
" I think I know the real reason why Haley cancelled on you tonight." Lucas says as he took a deep breath before continuing." When I talked to Haley this morning at the cafe and told her that you wanted to take her out tonight. She practically laughed in my face."
" Why would she do that?"
" Well, Haley thinks the only reason you wanted to go out with her in the first place. Is because she thinks you're just asking her out cause you feel sorry for her." Lucas answered.
" But I would never do that. I really wanted to go out with Haley tonight and I know it's been two years since her break up with her last boyfriend. But I would never go out with Haley because I feel sorry for her. I actually like Haley Luke." Nathan slumped his shoulders in disappointment as he couldn't believe Haley would even think that.
" Hey, do you know if she's working tomorrow?" Nathan asks as he had a thought.
" I think so, she opens the cafe at eight in the morning. Why? Thinking of talking to Haley tomorrow?"
Nathan nods his head as he takes another drink of his beer." Yeah, I think I can convince her to go out with me again." Nathan said as he smirks once more.
Walking through the cafe just few seconds after Eight. Nathan spotted Haley standing behind the counter taking inventory. Man Haley looks more beautiful and breathe taking. Nathan just wanted to grabbed Haley and just kiss those amazing soft lips. Nathan took a deep breath and walks over to the counter.
" How's the headache?" Nathan asks with a smirk.
Haley looked up after she stopped counting and noticed Nathan was standing by the counter. Damn why does he have to be this handsome? Haley clears her throat as she nods her head." Better. Thanks." Haley walks away from the counter and over to the tables to wipe them down.
" So what you doing here?" Haley asks with her back turn to him. If Haley looks right at him, she won't be able to think and she needs to think.
" Well, I was wondering if we can try again tonight perhaps? I can still take you to that Italian restaurant, Sarentos. It's just little out of town and after dinner. We can go for a evening walk on the beach and watch the sunset. What, you say? Pick you up at six?" Nathan asked he smiles.
Haley closed her eyes for a moment as she took a deep breath." Why?" Haley asks under her breath.
" What, was that?"
Haley deeply sighs as spins around and faces Nathan the first time since he walked into the cafe." Why, do you wanna go out with me, all of sudden? Back in high school, I have always wanted to go out with you. But all I heard that Nathan Scott. The star basketball player of the Tree Hill Ravens only dates cheerleaders. So I gave up trying and moved on. After high school I met David who's now my ex. We've dated for awhile until two years ago I find out he cheated on me, with my own sister. Taylor and now two years later, you all of sudden wants to take me out. Again, why?" Haley asked again.
Nathan chuckled as he shook his head." That whole thing of me dating only cheerleaders was just a rumor. I've only dated one cheerleader and that was Peyton Swayer. But of course we all know how that ended." Nathan snorts.
" But that's beside the point. I want to go out with you. Because you're beautiful and I have always had feelings for you. Hell even in college I wanted to ask you out,but when I heard you moved on with David. I ended up with...Rachel." Nathan says bitterly.
" Yeah, I heard about that. I also heard she moved to Chicago. Alright, pick me up at six. This better a real date and not just because you're feeling sorry for me and if that's the case, we can just call the whole thing off right now." Haley says pointing her finger at him.
Nathan walked over to Haley and place his hand around her finger bringing her finger down." That's not why I am asking you out Haley. I'm asking you out. Because I want to get to know you better." Nathan leans over and kisses her cheek." I will see you at six. Have a good day at work, Haley." Nathan said as he lets go of her hand and walked out of the cafe.
Haley blew out some air and looked around the cafe." Looks, likes I'm going on my first date with Nathan Scott. God help me." Haley mumbles to herself before going back to work.
