Waking up by the smell of fresh coffee and breakfast cooking down stairs in the kitchen. Which means Haley's mom was up and cooking breakfast at eight in the morning, which she always have done ever since Haley was a little girl. Getting out of bed and not bothering waking Nathan, Haley threw her robe on and walked out of the guest room and headed down stairs into the kitchen. For some coffee and breakfast. Walking into the kitchen. Haley noticed her mom and both of her grandmothers were all sitting around the table. She sighs softly as she was hoping it was just her mom, or at least her mom and her dad. Hell she wouldn't mind seeing Taylor right now. It's better than dealing with her grandmothers right now. As much as Haley loves them. She's not in the mood for their questions right now.
" Good morning." Haley said with a light smile as she walked over to the coffee was and poured herself some coffee while it was still warm." Where's everyone else?" Haley asked as she can't help but wonder if everyone was up yet or still sleeping.
" Good morning honey." Lydia greeted her daughter as she took a sip of her coffee before setting her coffee mug down on the table." Clay and Quinn are still sleeping I think. Your father had to go into the office, and Taylor went for a run this morning.
Haley nods her head as she made herself a plate and joined them at the table." What about Grandpa James and papa?" Haley asked as she took a bite of her bacon before taking another drink of her coffee.
" They're out back enjoying their cigars and coffee. Out by the pool." Grandma James answered with a eye roll while Grams chuckled as she shook her head.
" So are you and Nathan heading back home tomorrow?"
Haley nods her head." Yeah, we gotta get back to Tree Hill at least by tomorrow night. Nathan and Clay are going out of town for a couple of weeks." She answered as she continued to eat her breakfast. Haley and Nathan are planning on heading back to Tree Hill tomorrow so Nathan and Clay can leave first thing Monday morning.
" Out of town? Where are they going?" Grandma James asked in confusion.
" Nathan and Clay are going down to San Diego for a College basketball game to check out some potential clients and I think they're going to LA for a high school basketball game." Haley explains as she took another drink of her coffee that was now semi warm.
" Ahh, I see now. So what are you and Quinn gonna do in the meantime?"
Haley shrugs her shoulders." I don't know. I mean Quinn and I never really had talked about it. Normally when the guys are out of town on business. I'm usually working at the cafe or I'm hanging out with Brooke and Peyton. Quinn usually goes off and do her own thing."
" Are you still gonna help Peyton with the wedding plans?" Lydia asked as she remembered that Haley mentioned that Lucas are engaged to get married only a few days ago.
Haley nods her head as she sat her mug down." Yup, Brooke and I are gonna take Peyton out shopping for a wedding dress. Brooke did offer to make Peyton's wedding dress. But Peyton didn't want an Clothes Over Bros original. She actually wanted to buy a wedding dress from a wedding store." Haley said with a chuckle.
" Who's the lucky guy that's marrying your friend Peyton?"
" Peyton is marrying Nathan's brother Lucas." Haley answered as she got up from the table and walked over to the coffee machine to pour herself another cup of coffee.
" Um, does Nathan know that you were engaged once?" Grandma James asked.
Haley sighs as she shook her head as she placed the coffee pot down." No Nathan doesn't know. All Nathan knows that David and I used to go out. I never told him that David and I were engaged. " Haley still hasn't told Nathan about her going to dinner with David five months ago.
" I still think you and David were just perfect for each other. I mean who know maybe you two will get back together."
Haley snorts shaking her head as she took a sip of her coffee." Sorry grandma. But David and I will never get back together. I'm with Nathan now and I would really appreciate it if you two would give him a chance." Haley would love for her grandparents to accept Nathan because he's not going anywhere.
" Of course, we will accept Nathan honey. All I am saying is that David and you were like the perfect couple, and I always thought once you guys officially got married that you guys would also become great parents as well." Grandma James responded as she shrugs her shoulders.
" Thanks grandma. But that was in the past and I would rather keep the past behind me." Haley said as she grabs,the plate for Nathan." Alright guys I'm gonna go back upstairs and give this to Nathan." She then turned around and walked back upstairs to see if Nathan was up yet.
Pushing the door open as she walked into the room with the breakfast tray Haley smiles softly as she watched Nathan sitting up." Good morning." She said as set the tray over Nathan's lap as she leans down and kisses him softly as she smiles against his lips.
" Mhmm, good morning." Nathan murmers against her lips as he kisses her back little more passionately as he slowly pulls away." I love you Haley James."
" I love you too Nathan Scott. Now eat your breakfast while it's still warm." Haley said as she turned around and walked over to the drawers and pulled out some clean clothes." I'm gonna go take a shower and once your done with breakfast. maybe you and I can explore Atlanta one more time on our last day."
Nathan grins as he nods his head in agreement." Sounds like a plan. Want some company?" He asked perferring to the shower as he wouldn't mind getting into a warm shower with Haley right now as matter of Nathan would love to join Haley in the shower.
Haley gently bit her bottom lip as she thought about it." Yeah, but you should eat your breakfast first. Trust me it's delicious and don't worry I will keep the water warm for you." She said as she winks at him and walked out of the room and into the bathroom to get the shower started.
Walking through the park holding hands Nathan looked over at Haley as he noticed how quiet she was since they started walking through the park." Hey what's going on in that beautiful head of yours?"
Haley shook her head as she smiles softly." Nothing, just thinking how much I can't wait to get back home tomorrow. " Haley answered as she was avoiding what she really was thinking about. Haley just wishes that both of her grandmothers would actually give Nathan a chance. They barely talked to Nathan since Thanksgiving, she's afraid of how things are going to be during Christmas.
" Yeah, I can't wait to sleep in my own bed again." Nathan chuckled lightly.
Haley nods her head in agreement as she also can't wait to sleep in her own bed as well." So.. I was thinking maybe we can spend Christmas with your family instead of mine this year." As much as Haley loves her family, she wants to get to know more about Nathan's family too. She already knows about Lucas. Since Lucas and Haley are best friends and he and Nathan are brothers. Well half brothers. But still. Plus there's Nathan's mom Deb who Haley would love to meet. Haley has heard stories about Deb from Nathan. But she never met the woman and Haley thought Christmas would be the perfect time. Of course there's Dan, Nathan and Lucas's father. Well more of Nathan's father really since Dan never really claimed Lucas as son when Karen gave birth to Lucas. According to Lucas, Dan never came to the hospital the day he was born.
Haley's thoughts were broken when she felt Nathan wrapping his arms around her waist from behind as he pulls her back against him." Are you sure that you really want to spend Christmas with my family? " Nathan asked as he wanted to make sure that it was something Haley wanted to do.
Haley turns around as she was still in his arms as she wrapped her arms around his neck." Nathan, I want to spend Christmas with you and your family. I want to meet your mom." Haley answered with a smile as she looks up at him.
Nathan sighs deeply as he was thinking about it. A part of him would rather spend his Christmas alone with Haley than having to deal with his father. But on the other hand he knows how important this is to Haley and he'll do anything for her." I'll tell you what. We'll spend Christmas with my family and for new Years, you and I spend it alone just the two of us. Deal?"
Haley smiles even bigger as she loved the idea already." Deal."
Nathan grins as he leans down and kisses Haley passionately and deeply as he pulls her even closer to him as he smirks against her lips."Mhmmm, lets go back to your parents and see if your mom made lunch yet." Before they left this morning. Lydia promised that she'll have lunch for them when they got back and Nathan was hungry already.
Haley nods her head as she leans up and kisses him passionately and deeply as she slowly pulls back." " Yeah, let's go back. Mom's probably wondering where we are." Haley giggles softly as she took Nathan's hand into hers as she locked her fingers through his as they walked towards the parking lot towards her car.
AN: Yeah... Not a whole lot in this chapter. Unfortunately this was just one of those filter chapters. But the next chapter will have something going on. More Drama to be exactly.
