Can We Let Go?

Vegito Is Torn between two women he loves. Both women are Heartbroken and Only One of them make the sacrifice, Chichi. As she tries to move on with her life, she realises just how difficult it is to be without the man she loves.

2. Move On

I meant to post this a few days Ago, however here in the UK We have been dealing with 'Storm Eunice', made a big mess for us to deal with and I lost my Wifi Connection, But I'm here now and here with a special delivery. Happy reading. ;)

Chapter 2 – Move On

The sun Rose over the valley and all the wildlife waking up the sun's graze. The light shined through the window as chichi slowly and painfully opened her eyes, her eyes felt sore and crusted, she had spent the majority of the night crying and she was paying for it now. She stirred in the bed and slowly got out. She went to open the window to get some fresh air into the room and overlooked the view from outside, all around her she saw the flowers growing around the lake, the wildlife springing into action across the forest and getting a drink form the lake, it was a beautiful day. But she wasn't smiling. Quite the opposite from the look of her face, you'd think she was overlooking thunderclouds and showers falling from the sky.

She walked to her En-Suite bathroom and threw some water on her face to wake herself up a little. She took the bun out of her hair and looked at her reflection. She gasped at the sight she came upon. She looked so defeated. Sure! Her husband was never coming back but she knew that 7 years ago. And once again it was weighing her down. She looked at herself and huffed! No more! Fate had messed with her for the last time! She wasn't gonna let it get to her again! There were her kids to think about now! So if that's how it was gonna be, then fine! She hopped in the shower and washed up. Got dressed and tied her hair up. she then went downstairs and began making breakfast, just as she had finished with the pancakes, Gohan and Goten walking having woken up to the aromas of their mother's cooking and were greeted by stacks of pancakes and bacon! They both drooled with delight and took their seats as Chichi got them some juice.

'Wow mom! You sure have been busy' Gohan chuckled

'Yes well I've had a thought. I've realised I can spend the rest of my days feeling sorry for myself like I have been for the past 7 years, or I can stop and think about the things that matter.'

'Like what mama?' Goten asked

'Well, there's you two for starters. I know the circumstances of your dad's return is kinda weird but you both have a chance to have your father in your lives now. And I say you should go for it. He loves you both and its time to start making memories' she said.

'It's kinda weird to have the same dad as Trunks' Goten said

'Yeah, its weird mom, I mean I know dad is there but the other part its Vegeta, Its not how I would imagine it if he came back' Gohan added

'I know it isn't Gohan. But we should be thankful we have him back at all, well….. at least you two do. Gohan I know for a long time you would give anything to have your dad back here and in a way you do now. So we need to let go of the past and look to the future. And Goten, you have a chance to get to know your father like you always wanted, to play with him or to train with him, and I know he'd wants to make as many happy memories with you 2 as much as he can while you're both still young. You boys have your dad back. Don't let him slip away because of these circumstances' she said as Gohan and Goten looked at one another and realised she was right. Their dad was back! And it was time to enjoy having him back! They both hugged their mom as they ate fast and went to get dressed. Chichi sighed to herself and wondered about what she had just said. She also wondered how Vegito was coping with all this.

Vegito woke up in the guest room of capsule corp, he decided it was better for the first few nights just to adjust to himself, plus he had a feeling Bulma would try something. He wasn't sure how he'd feel about that, the Vegeta in him would take it in a heartbeat but the Goku part of him was holding himself back because he wanted to be with chichi. But she said to stay with Bulma, maybe she was just in shock about the whole matter, now that she had maybe slept on it, she might be more open to talk to him. He got out of bed and got dressed and headed downstairs to see Bulma sitting at the table waiting for him.

'We need to talk' she said as he looked to her

'About what?' he asked

'Sit down' she instructed as he did as he was told and folded his arms as she took a deep breath 'Look we're gonna have to get used to this change. And I know what I said yesterday was…. well kinda harsh, because despite everything,You did to save us all. And I wanted to say thank you for that, cause now we're back where we should be. And I hope we can try and move forward with things now. I know it's gonna be difficult, but we'll take this one day at a time. Right?' She asked as Vegito looked his wife in the eyes and nodded. He offered his hand out to her as she gracefully took it. She knew it was weird, but she could feel something there, between them. It was different but familiar all at the same time. In that moment trunks came running in.

'Hey mom hey…dad?' he greeted as Vegito turned to his son

'You can say dad trunks. Or you can say Vegito'

'No its okay, I just gotta get used to it'

'Don't we all?' Bulma smiled 'What are you up to today sweetie?' she asked

'Well dad said we were gonna go to Goten's house and spar with Goten and Gohan'

'Oh…. Okay' she said as Trunks headed outside ready to go. Vegito got up and looked to Bulma and smiled

'We'll be back later, maybe we can all have dinner together later?' Vegito asked as Bulma smiled

'I can order stuff, knowing your stomachs I'll have to get a boat load' she giggled as he blushed and grinned

'I'll see you later' he said and walked out of the house. Bulma had a good feeling they were gonna go somewhere, romantically, she just wished maybe if chichi wasn't thinking the same way as her, then she would stand a better chance at being with him.

Vegito and Trunks were speeding through the warm earthly air, the sun shone on their backs as they happily soared through the air toward Mount pazou. Trunk was oblivious to his father's look of nervousness, despite the sun warming and comforting his troubled soul, he was muttering all the what ifs when he went to see his wife. But then he was already with his wife earlier. In his mind, the two sayiens were pulling him in two different directions, he had contemplated the possibility of loving both women at the same time but he knew that was unfair on either one of the women he loved. He knew Bulma to be caring, smart and logical about situations, and despite her anger yesterday, she understood his actions and forgave him, he could feel a spark there between them and It felt good. Vegeta never cared for anyone before he met Bulma. In fact you could say their relationship was anything but complicated to begin with however, ever since the Cell games, Vegeta stayed at capsule corp and spent time with his son. Thus being with Bulma and he couldn't deny his physical attraction to her, but also her caring, helpful side, building him a training room, repairing his uniform and take care of him when he got hurt, he learned to open up and talk to her, thus trusting her. And in time he fell in love with her. Then of course Bulma wanted marriage and was accepting to have a very small ceremony with only a few people involved, that being her parents, Trunks and Chichi and the boys. Vegeta got himself a family and he really did love them. The Vegeta part of him wanted Bulma.

But the Goku part… well that went without saying. Goku never was good at expressing his feelings especially if they were declarations of love. He knew he had hurt his wife in the past and he thought this was the last time. All those years she had been without him, he had no idea how much she needed him over the years, but she had no idea how much it hurt him too. If he could turn back time and think of any other solution in order to beat cell, he would have done it and come home to her, Gohan and their unborn baby. The days building to the cell games were some of his fondest memories with her, he sent Gohan to the lookout just so he could be with her. Like how they used to be when they first got married. At first, Goku was rather oblivious when he met chichi but when he fought her at the tournament and saw how strong and brave she was, he was attracted to her, especially when she revealed who she was, the little girl he once knew grew to the beautiful strong woman she was now. And then they married and over time he learned to love here more and more each day, when they trained together or when they went on walks or even when they made love, he knew she was the only woman he would ever want, especially when she brought their kids into the world. And he knew that each time he stayed away to train or die, it was killing her and he hated to do it to her but it was the only thing he could do to protect her. And he now knew as long as he was Vegito, getting through to her might not be easy, but he couldn't blame her.

Trunks called out that the house was in sight as Vegito took a glance. Wow! It had been a very long time since he'd been here, his home. The last time was when he left to go to the cell games. He woke up and found his wife in his arms resting from their previous night of lovemaking and begged him to stay with her, but he couldn't. He suddenly felt a little nervous and landing before the house, he wasn't sure if he should still call it his house. Trunks landed outside as did The mighty Sayien.

Vegito stood in front of his home. He looked around the area. Part of him was glad he was back home and another part of him wasn't that fused. The Goku in him was eager to go inside and look around again. Trunks knocked on the door as Goten answered and greeted his best friend and his dad.

'I'm so glad you're here daddy! Gohan and I are really excited to see you' Goten cheered as Gohan walked out and greeted his dad and smiled

'Welcome home….. I guess' he chuckled

'Yeah, its been a long time since I was here' Vegito answered

'We're ready to start training dad' Goten grinned

'Yeah I bet your 10 times stronger than before, I bet Goten and I can take you if we fuse' Trunks grinned

'I hope so, you'll need all the strength you can muster'

'We're ready when you are' Gohan smirked

'Say, before we get started, you suppose I can take a look around the house again, just for old time's sake?' Vegito asked

'Sure go right ahead' Gohan said as he began warming up with the boys, Vegito walked into the room and first saw the kitchen. Everything looked the same, from the colour of the walls to the coffee stains on the table. He then walked to the living room and saw how much it looked the same, though the couch had changed, he then slowly moved to the stairs and walked up and came across Gohan's room. He noticed how much it had changed, it used to be a little boys room and now it was teenager's room, you could tell from the smell, he then went to the room across from him, that was once a guest room but now it was Goten's room, the wall paper was light blue with yellow clouds and the room was messy with clothes and toys scattered across the floor, yep! Defiantly a kid's room, he then walked to the one bedroom that held most of his memories, his room. His and Chichi's. he slowly opened the door and went inside, nothing had changed in this room. So many fond memories of him and chichi in here. The bed was still the same, so was the wallpaper, he softly smiled walked further into the room and stroked the sheets on his side of the bed. Remembering how he'd wake up to the sun's gaze and see his wife's arms wrapped around him as he pulled her into a sweet embrace. He couldn't help but smile, he then noticed a picture frame on the floor. He picked up the broken frame and looked at the photo of him and his wife. He softly sighed as he thought back to those days

'Oh chi….' He said

'That's my favourite photo of him' a voice called as he turned around and saw her standing in the doorway of her bedroom with a basket of laundry. She walked in and placed the basket on the bed and stood before him, to him, she was so beautiful but he could see sadness in her eyes.

'The frame is broken' he said referring to the picture

'I have more. I'll fix it' she answered 'You should get outside, they boys want to get started' she said and began folding her laundry

'Chichi, I know you're angry at me…..'

'I'm not' she simply said 'I'm not angry at you. I didn't get the chance to say yesterday, but thank you' she said as he scrunched his face

'Th….thank you?' he asked

'Yes. You saved the planet once again, you promised you would send Gohan back to me and you did and you made sure Goten was safe too. You defeated majjin Buu and the earth and the universe is now safe again. So thank you' she said as he looked at her. She really wasn't mad. It was weird, he thought she'd go ballistic, maybe there was hope Afterall.

'Well… You're welcome' he answered and slowly walked towards her, he raised his hand to stroke her face, she didn't flinch but she looked uncomfortable

'What are you…?'

'still so beautiful' he whispered as she gasped 'I've missed you chi…' he leaned in to kiss her but she quickly moved away

'No we can't' she said

'But… you're my wife'

'No I'm Goku's wife, and as you said you are neither him or Vegeta. So you are not my husband' Chichi said

'Look I get things will be difficult but things will get better'

'I know. But in order for things to work out here, you can't try anything with me, I don't want things getting complicated so its better if we just remain…ummm…I guess….. friends' she said. Vegito wasn't sure how to react to this.

'Friends?' he asked

'Yeah. For the sake of the children. I will welcome you into our home if you are here for them. Nothing can happen between us. Ever' she said strictly

'But…'

'I mean it Vegito. You have a chance to make something work with Bulma, I suggest you take it.' She said and left the room, Vegito followed her and wasn't sure how to take the information, the Vegeta in him thought that was good because it meant he could be with his wife but the Goku in him well all he wanted was to hold his wife in his arms again and tell he was home and everything was gonna be okay.

'Chichi please, I need to talk to you. About The Goku part, no one else understands like you do. Please' He pleaded as she kept her back turned to him, looking at him only hurt her more and she wasn't about to break down again, she was done with all that, it was time to be strong.

'You should head outside, the boys will be expecting you' she said and remined her back turned to him. He sighed and slowly moved his way to the door and headed outside as chichi exhaled, the intensity between them was filling the room. And it had only been their first encounter alone! Chichi looked out the window and saw him stretching with Gohan as the boys did their fusion dance, it seemed they were gonna be busy for the reminder of the day and she didn't wanna stick around, that's when the phone started ringing as she went to answer it.

'Hello?' she answered

'Hey Chichi!'

'18! Wasn't expecting to hear from you!'

'yeah well launch and I were just about to head over to polisas city for a shopping trip and we wondered if you wanted to come?' 18 offered. Chichi thought about it and looked outside and thought it was a good opportunity to get away from Vegito for a while

'Yeah! Sounds great, I'll meet you there' she grinned

'Great! Meet us around noon. See you then!' 18 said before hanging up as chichi went to grab her bag and walked outside calling for the nimbus cloud as they guys looked her way

'Where you going mama?' Goten asked

'I'm gonna go shopping for a while with 18 and Launch. I'll see you boys later' she answered

'Enjoy yourself mom' Gohan waved as she smiled then looked to Vegito who was looking at her, she looked away from him and flew off into the sky on nimbus, her heart racing and her palms a little sweaty, why did he have to be so intense? And admittingly, So attractive, not that she'd say it to him, but she couldn't deny he was attractive, but despite that, she wasn't about to do anything about it! She had to just carry on as normal.

….

The town was so busy, the traffic was crazy and everyone was coming and going into every store. Chichi, 18 and Launch were strolling though the main street and were already carrying a whole bunch of shopping bags already. They had just walked out of Launch's favourite store and walked along the street.

'I can't believe those shoes were only half price! They are to die for' Launch giggled

'The half price was 300 Zeni, your insane to spend that much on a pair of shoes that you'd probably wear once or twice if your lucky' 18 chuckled

'Make fun if you will, but they are the cutest colour'

'Thanks for inviting me out girls, I thought I was gonna go crazy with Vegito being there' chichi sighed

'We figured you may want a distraction from it all, we're here to help anyway you want' 18 smiled

'Yeah just say the word Chichi' Launch smiled

'I have to admit, its been a while since I did go shopping'

'Yeah except, all you've bought are clothes for Gohan and Goten, why don't you buy something for yourself, or treat yourself to something?' 18 asked

'Like what?' chichi asked

'Well you could buy a dress for yourself, or some jewellery, or go buy a massage or even get a haircut' Launch advised

'I'm not sure how I feel about my hair, I like how it is.'

'Well there's nothing wrong with getting it styled maybe. You know let it down for a change' 18 suggested

'Hmmmm I guess not… oh I know! Why don't we go over to that cute little café on king street? Its one of my favourite places to go when I'm in the city' Chichi asked

'Yeah! I could eat' Launch nodded

'Me too! Lets go!' 18 Smiled as they made their way to king street just as they came to the café, they found that the place had just closed up

'Nawh we're too late!' Launch huffed

'Hey that's not right, this doesn't normally close till 5' Chichi wondered as she knocked on the door when a little old lady answered the door

'I'm sorry ladies but I'm afraid I have to close now' she answered

'Close? Its only 2pm, why the early close?' 18 asked

'Well you see my business isn't doing as well than it used to be since my husband passed away and I haven't got the money to pay my staff so they all quit, and I'm getting to old to keep this place open for long hours a day, I'm afraid I'm reaching the point where I will have to sell up'

'Oh that's awful' Launch gasped

'This place isn't as popular as it used to be, it needs a younger generation to take it on, someone who has a passion for cooking and baking. Believe me, I used to have all the passion in the world but now I think this place needs new blood' the old lady sighed. Suddenly chichi had an epiphany! This was a sign! A distraction! It was perfect.

'How much would you be selling it for?' Chichi asked

'Well my solicitor advised it would be withing 80,000 zeni' she answered

'I'd like to buy it, and I'll even throw in a extra 10,000 zeni'

'Chichi!?' 18 and Launch gasped

'Wh…..what? are you serious?' the lady asked

'Yes! This place is perfect. I used to love coming here and always thought that it would be like to run my own place, so I'd like to give it a try' Chichi grinned

'Well dear, if you can get the money by the week, I'll assure you I will be out of here by the end of next week, you can even have the upstairs apartment as a storage unit'

'Sounds great! I'll be in touch' chichi grinned and walked away from the store with 18 and Launch on her tail

'You're gonna buy that place?' 18 asked

'Yep! This is exactly what I need! My own project! And it'll be perfect, its small, its boutique and it's a distraction.'

'Well I won't lie, it would be kinda cool to see you run your own business' Launch smiled

'Yeah but do you even have that kinda money?' 18 asked

'Don't worry, I know someone who can help. NIMBUS!' She called as the fluffy yellow cloud hovered before her as she jumped on

'Where are you going?' Launch asked

'Thanks for today girls! I had a great time, I'll be in touch! Bye!' She called out as Nimbus soared through the air

'Where is she going?' Launch asked

'Well if I know chichi, there's only one person she'd go to for help, and Goku isn't here, so it's the next best man in her life' 18 smiled as she and Launch continued with their day of shopping as Chichi hovered across the cite and going higher and higher into the clouds and stroked the fluffy yellow cloud she was sitting on and softly smiled. Good old Nimbus, always did as it was told.

'Please Take me to The fire Kingdom Nimbus, I have to talk to Papa' she smiled as Nimbus did as he was told. Off to see the Ox King.
