Chapter 3 – Open For Business

Nimbus soared through the air as chichi patiently waited to see her father's castle in sight. She wondered about her choice to open her business, there would have to be a lot to consider, like redecorating, purchases, suppliers, and support. She guessed she could worry about that stuff when the time came to think about, she just hoped her dad could help. Finally, over the mountain they flew and finally she saw her dad's kingdom in sight. Nimbus flew down into the kingdom and stopped by the castle doors. Chichi jumped off as the guard were quick to recognize her.

'Princess Chichi! Welcome' they gasped and bowed before her

'Please don't bother with that stuff with me boys' she giggled

'Please go right in your highness' they said and opened the doors for her as she walked in, it was good to come back, even if it was a flying visit for her. She strolled through the halls as the servant gave her bows and curtsies as she made her way to her father's study and gave a knock

'Come In!' He called as she opened the door and was greeted by his huge smile

'Oh chichi I wasn't expecting you today! How wonderful to see you!' He smiled pulling her up into a hug as she smiled, when in doubt, she could always depend on her dear papa for a boost.

'I know it's a bit short notice papa, but I needed to speak to you. She said

'Of course! Anything for my Chichi, Please sit down! Would you like some tea?' He asked as she nodded as he asked his guard to go and ask the maids, eventually the maids brought in the tea and some cupcakes as chichi helped herself.

'Thanks papa' She smiled

'I know you may have wanted to talk, after everything that's happened with Goku….. I mean Vegito, its no wonder…'

'I know what you're gonna say, and I appreciate your support'

'Well anything I can do to help, if you know, I could always use assistance with business with the kingdom, one day it'll be yours to rule.'

'Thanks papa, and I appreciate what you're doing but trust me, I will cross that bridge when the time is right, this kingdom still needs you' she smiled

'Well if you need anything at all my sweet, you just say the word'

'well now that you mention it, I suppose there is something.'

'Oh. Well then what is it?' He asked

'Well, I was just wondering, what with Goku never coming back given his current state, I thought about moving on with my life, and I thought what I could do. That's when it came to me, I do love cooking and there's this small little café that's for sale and I thought how good it could be if I started running it myself. The only thing is, I need a loan….'

'Done!' He said grabbing his cheque book as Chichi gasped

'What that's it?' She asked

'Yes! I want you to be happy. And if getting you something like this to help you move on then I am here for you, anything you need. So how much you need?' He asked as Chichi smiled as they got to business.

….

One week Later

'Pleasure doing business with you' Chichi smiled to the previous owner of her café, she stood there with her cases and the cab waiting to go

'You take care of this place my dear, I think its got a good future ahead now you're taking care of it.' She smiled and handed her the kays, got in the taxi and left. Chichi turned to the little café and smiled.

'Okay, Time to get this party started.' She said to herself as she used the keys and walked into the café and looked around, she noticed the place was a little run down, the floors were stained and floorboards coming up, the wallpaper was peeling of the wall and some parts of mould in the corners, chichi looked to the tables and chairs and could see they were rundown too and on the verge of braking, she went to the kitchen saw the fridge was old too and was dirty and needed cleaning or even replacing, she checked the ovens and stoves and the fryer. They were in pretty good condition, just needed some cleaning. She checked the lights and they were pretty dark, they many need replacing too. She looked around and though how run down the place had gotten, but it was up to her to turn the place around. As she started clearing some stuff away, the doors opened and in walked 18 and Launch.

'So…. You bought the place then?' 18 asked

'Yep! I think this is gonna be good for me'

'Well that's why we're here. We're here to help' Launch smiled

'Help?' Chichi asked

Yeah! We're gonna help you get this place up and running, you're gonna need staff aren't you?'

'Yeah these places do get busy and you're gonna need support' 18 added

'And I can cook too so I can help when you want days off' Launch smiled

'That's really nice of you guys' Chichi smiled

'Yeah and we brought reinforcements' 18 grinned as Krillen, Tien, Chiaotzu and Yamcha walked in the café too.

'You brought the guys along too?' Chichi asked

'We volunteered' Yamcha smiled as He wrapped an arm around his friend

'Anything you need, we are here for you' Krillen smiled

'So what do you need?' Tien asked

'Well I guess, you can help get rid of his clutter, dad has given me some money to refurbish the place so I need to remove all the furniture in here' she smiled. She was grateful that everyone was giving her support, she felt very grateful.

The next day, Chi-Chi and the others began work on her new cafe. They got to the café everyday to begin the task because they knew it was going to be a lot of work and would need to be quick as the café needed to be up and running as soon as possible. Even though Krillen had some background in construction, Chi-Chi had to be the thinker here since she knew how she wanted how the café to be redesigned and had the guys to help her. The guys removed all the old tables and the chairs and stools and threw them all into a container as Tien and Yamcha lifted it up and took it the nearest dump, Krillen and Chiaotzu were removing all the carpets and tiles on the floor so that could be re made as Chichi and Launch started ripping the wallpaper off the floor ready to re do that too. When they were finished, chichi was ready to start looking for new designs for the café. The next day, Launch, 18 and chichi all headed to town and headed to the store to find the right paint to paint the walls, chichi decided to paint the walls rather then put up wall paper, she also decided to put down floorboards in her café and tiles in the kitchen. The guys were there ready to help the next day, Yamcha and Krillen knocked down some trees in the forest and used them to make lumber. Yamcha and Krillen carefully measured out the lumber to make sure it came in direct contact with the bricks on the crawl space walls. Next, they added the beams and joist that met with beams. After framing the floor, they covered it with plywood. They continued this until the whole café was covered with the brand new floors. It was bright and new and made the room brighter.

Chichi was thankful for the guys helping here, during all their work, chichi was making food for them, just for her to get the feel of the kitchen. Launch was also trying to get to know the kitchen too and was making lists of the accessories they would need for the place. As chichi and Launch were discussing the New menu, what to add, what to cook, what ingredients they would need to order daily or weekly, Krillen was looking to chichi and saw how much she had changed since Goku's return, at least his sort of return. He hadn't heard from Vegito since he moved in with Bulma, he guessed they were getting acquainted with one another, and he could understand why Chichi would want to keep herself distracted from him. And he, his wife and their friends wanted to support her in anyway she needed, but she seemed okay. At least he hoped. She was his friend just as much as Goku was, and he knew Goku would appreciate to know that his friends were looking out for his wife.

The next day, Tien and Chiaotzu got started on checking on the indoor plumbing for checking the sinks and toilets were up and running and the sinks in the kitchen, When Tien noticed an issue with a few pipes, ha head Chiaotzu used his gift to remove a pipe that was out of his reach and replace it with a clean one. They checked the water and could tell the flow of the water was a lot stronger than it was before.

Rebuilding the Cafe together didn't come without pain. Several times, Krillen accidentally slammed a hammer on his thumb or foot and 18 was there to roll her eyes mend his wounds as the others laughed. Launch and Chichi got a few splinters from sanding down the floors and the doorways and replacing the doors of the bathroom from the rotten white ones to bright red doors and had signs for male and female toilets done and hung up on the doors.

Yamcha suffered the most pain when it came to the electrical wiring. 18 had read the book on wiring thoroughly and was giving instructions to connect the yellow and red wires but Yamcha connected yellow to green shocking his entire body. He ran out of the house screaming and 18 was trying hard not to laugh along with the others. Tien and Chiaotzu also carefully removed the windows and replaced them with clean new bright rectangular windows and hug up some blinds making them work properly. The new windows were making the place look bigger and brighter.

Things were winding down as the month they took to rebuilding the café was near completion. Krillen worked on the insulation, installing the drywall while Yamcha finished the electrical wiring by installing the light fixtures, wall outlets, switches and cover plates. Tien and Chiaotzu checked on the kitchen equipment to see if they were up to scratch and not broken and wouldn't hurt anyone while using it. Chichi, 18 and Launch went to the stores to buy all the equipment they would need, when they got back, More capsules were opened as Tien and Chiaotzu worked on installing the kitchen cabinets and 18 and chichi working on the cabinets behind the small counter in the cafe, Yamcha and Launch brought in the paint and placed them down and chichi had to think about what colours to have and who was painting where, she suggested the bathrooms to be painted blue in the men's room and a light pink in the ladies' room. She then suggested a light green colour for the whole café as green was her mom's favourite colour. Painting the Café came next which was easy since they spent the morning painting and the afternoon letting it dry. Launch and Chichi painted the café, while 18 and Krillen painted the bathrooms, 18 painted the ladies' room and Krillen in the Men's. Tien and Chiaotzu all repainted the kitchen with white paint making the place brighter. And Yamcha repainted the outside the café to make the place brighter along the street and would catch people's attention. With all of their energy, it took only a one day.

With everything finished, The girls spent the rest of the week, shopping for furniture and installing them in the café. Tien and Chiaotzu helped with bringing in the circular tables into the room with chairs with blue sewed cushions. Yamcha putting down stools up next to the counters where the work station was and Krillen giving the place a little brush up with a broom. Launch bought some toiletries for the facilities like soaps, sanitizers, toilet paper and bins. Chichi was organizing her cabinets by putting all the cups, bowls, plates, cutlery and teapots in order while 18 was putting away all the saucepans, chopping boards, kitchen knives, and the other equipment they would need in the kitchen. A few finishing touches here and there as Chi-Chi stood outside with tears brimming at her eyes. She wanted to cry. She was so happy. It took them a month but they were able to complete her new business. She finally could begin the rest of her life. She stood outside as Tien and Yamcha were putting up the sign over her new business.

The Ox-Café

'It's a good name' a voice called from behind her, Bulma hadn't been around to help and was finally here to see the place.

'yeah well, I wanted to do something that was mine. And I Am an Ox Princess so…'

'Well I came round to congratulate you on this new business, and to give you a present' Bulma grinned as she had a couple of the guys carry a large heavy box into the café with Chichi quick to follow. They placed it down on the table.

'What is it?' Chichi asked

'Well open it and see silly!' Bulma grinned as Chi shrugged and opened it up and gasped

'A… A coffee machine?' She asked as Bulma chucked

'Ah! 'Chichi please take it, at least I feel like I've helped you out a little' Bulma sighed and continued 'Look I know I haven't been around as much and I guess its cause I wanted to get comfortable with the situation. I hope you understand'

'I do. Its okay Bulma'

'And I wanted to do this as a thank you I guess, I know it can't have been an easy decision to let Vegito stay with me and I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you stepping away to let us give things a try' she said as chichi softly smiled, in a way to her, she couldn't help but feel like Bulma was doing this to keep her distracted from a certain Sayien.

'Well, this would be better than some small kettle. Oh Bulma I don't know what to say!'

'Say nothing, except when I come here my coffees are always free' She joked as chichi nodded. They worked together to place the coffee machine in the right spot on the counter as they stood back to admire it, Bulma looked around and was delighted with everything.

'I gotta say chi, you've done this place up amazingly! Its so new and bright. You'll have the place swamped in no time'

'You think so?'

'Defiantly! With your cooking who could refuse?'

'Well it wasn't just me. I have the others to thank too, everyone will be getting the first couple of meals for free.'

'Haven't Gohan and Goten been helping?' Bulma asked

'Well they've been so busy with training with their dad, and I've been here everyday. I honestly haven't had time to see them' She answered

'Maybe you should get them to come here. Get a feel of the place, let's be honest they could inherit this in the future.'

'Yeah maybe.' Chichi smiled

'Okay well I better go, I promised Trunks I'd take him out to dinner later, I even manged to rope Vegito into coming for a change' Bulma grinned as Chichi sighed. Hearing Bulma talk about him like she was besotted….she wasn't sure how it made her feel.

'Well be sure to come round soon. It should be up and running in the next few days' Chichi smiled

'Of course! I'm pleased for you chichi, I think this place is gonna be good for you'

'Me too. Bye Bulma' she waved goodbye as Krillen, Yamcha, Launch, Tien, 18 and Chiaotzu walked into the café admiring the finished product.

'Wow! The place looks great' Tien grinned

'I couldn't have done it without you guys. I appreciate all you've done for me' Chichi smiled

'Hey its not a problem, we think this place is gonna be booming with you running the shop' Krillen added

'Yeah! Plus it will be a great income to support you, Gohan and Goten' Chiaotzu smiled

'That's true. And I want you to know that the first coupe of meals are completely on the house'

'Nawh! Not for life?' Yamcha huffed

'I have a business to run' chichi blushed

'We appreciate it chichi' Launch smiled as 18 noticed the snazzy coffee machine

'Hey where'd you get the money for this?' she asked

'Actually that was from Bulma' chi answered as the others looked at one another in confusion

'We didn't know she contributed'

'Only the machine. She was just being kind'

'Or keeping you sweet' 18 said in a low tone

'What does that mean?' chi asked

'Nothing! She's just kidding' Launch giggled and looked at 18 to stop talking, suddenly the bell above the door jingled and in strolled Gohan, Videl and Goten.

'Boys! I wasn't expecting to see you' she smiled

'No but we wanted to wait to see when it was finished.' Gohan smiled

'Oh wow chichi the place looks amazing!' Videl smiled

'I love it!' Goten cheered

'Well I'm glad you do. This is it! My very own business. I can't wait to get started'

'Well before you do, I brought some refreshments!' Videl brought out some champagne as everyone took a glass

'Can I have one?' Goten asked

'NO!' Gohan and chichi said in sync as the others laughed, chi got him a lemonade instead

'Well a toast, to Chichi, may your business flourish and your bank balance flow with cash' Videl grinned

'To the Ox-café!' Chi cheered

'TO THE OX-CAFÉ!' They all toasted and drank and for those moment, chichi felt contempt. Everything was gonna be okay, thought she did wonder what Goku would think about all this. Or rather, Vegito.

….

The next day, Gohan and Goten went with Chichi to open up her first day of business. Gohan and Goten had brought a few paintings to hang up in the café to give the place a little decor, Goten was hovering in the air trying to find a place for a painting of the fire kingdom.

'Left a bit…..down a bit…up a little…there! You got it!' Gohan smiled as he nailed the picture on the wall, chichi was putting on her apron and tying her hair back as she looked at her boys helping.

'I hope you're not here just so you can get a free meal.' She joked

'Would you let you're kids starve mama?' Goten gave her the big eyes as she rolled her eyes laughing, Gohan sat on the stool leaning on the counter as she worked on the other side wiping down the counter ready for business.

'You told him about this place?' Gohan asked as she sighed

'No. I don't think he'd be interested, besides, knowing him he'd rather be away training then coming in here' she smiled

'Well maybe Bulma told him'

'I don't know. If she does, it'll be up to him if he wanted to come here anyway'

'You still haven't talked?'

'Not since he was at the house. I just think its better we keep a distance. At least for now. But that's only for him and me, it doesn't bother me if you want to get to know your dad again, you and your brother. You both deserve it.' She smiled as Videl walked into the café

'Oh hey, I wasn't expecting to see you till later' Gohan kissed her cheek

'I know, but I'm not here for you, I'm here for your mom' she smiled

'What do you mean?' Chi asked

'I would like to be your waitress' Videl smiled as Gohan and chi looked at the other

'But… I thought you had a part-time job. Helping Mr Saiyaman over here' Chichi joked

'It's the Great Saiyaman!' Gohan huffed

'Yeah cause that's better' Videl joked making Chichi and herself laugh 'And yes I can still do that If I'm needed but that job doesn't pay and my dad thinks I need a part time job while I finish school. So I was wondering if you could help me with that, look I'll clean, I'll cook, I'll waitress, anything!' Videl pleaded as Chichi smiled

'Well it would be nice to have you work here rather then looking for people, hell I even Got Launch to start working here, Even 18 from time to time. And these two when they can' Chichi pointed to her kids 'I could do with a waitress. It'll be great to have someone waiting on the tables'

'Great! Where do I start?' Videl asked as Chichi handed her a waist pinny.

'You can start with making sure all the tables have salts and peppers' she instructed as Videl got to work. Gohan looked at his mom with envy

'I don't know how you do it mom'

'What do you mean?' she asked

'Just carrying on like nothing has happened, I mean I thought you'd be…'

'I thought so too but then I thought I needed to stop worrying or feeling sad about something I can't change. Its time to move forward with my life, starting with this place' she said and at that moment, customers arrived.

'Table for 4 please?' he asked as Chichi grinned at her son

'Lets get to business.' She smiled

Another month had gone by and the café was a huge success, Everyone was leaving amazing reviews and the place was always packed full of people, chichi couldn't be more happier with the business, she had great support of her kids and her friends and the customers were always kind to her and said she was doing a great job. Another day had gone by as the last customers were leaving chichi waved good bye and turned her closed sign on as she began sweeping the floor, when the bell of the door rang

'Oh I'm sorry we're closed now…' she stopped in mid-sentence when she saw Vegito there, standing there in the doorway

'I was flying past….thought I'd come check the place out…..' he said as she sighed

'The boys aren't here, they've gone to stay with their grandpa'

'I know. I came to see you'

'Bulma said you've been training more and more since you're return' she said putting the broom away

'I have been. But even I need to stop sometimes' he answered when his stomach growled, rocking the whole café metaphorically.

'I'm guessing you haven't eaten' she sighed

'Not since 2 days ago' He answered

'Why do I feel like you did that on purpose just to come here?'

'Does that mean you're not gonna feed me?' He asked as she rolled her eyes and went to her fridge and got out a dish of lasagne, the whole tray! She placed it down in front of him as he smiled

'don't you need this?'

'I can make more' she answered as he started eating. She continued her cleaning and locked the money away. Vegito finished his food as she place in the sink to soak and turned off the lights and was ready to leave. They walked out of the café as she locked the doors.

'How are you getting home?' He asked

'Nimbus will take me home' she said

'Or I could, Instant transmission?' he offered. She thought about it and thought she would like to be home now rather than the 40 minute ride on the could, and it was cold outside

'Sure. Thanks' she said as he went to pick her up but she was quick to avoid it and placed her hand on his shoulder waiting to go. He looked at her disappointed, was he that repulsive to her? He focused on her home and within a second, they were back.

'Well here you are'

'Thanks' she said

'Well you fed me. The least I could do' he answered smiling, in that moment she felt like Goku was there with her, in a way he was and then she was reminded of the situation and cleared her throat.

'Well I have had a long day and I think I'm gonna just hit the hay, thanks for the lift' she said and was quick to leave

'You can't keep avoiding me chichi. I'm here whether you like it or not' he said

'I already told you, there is nothing to be said between us.'

'Your my…'

'No don't say it! Cause I'm not okay? You are one being. And this one being is not married, ergo, I am not yours to call 'wife'. Please Vegito you and Bulma seem really good together and I think its better you stick with her. Its better all around.'

'For who exactly. Me? The boys? Who?'

'Everyone. And especially me' she said 'Look, I have my priorities now and that's being a mother and a business owner, hovering around a husband scared for him wasn't doing me any good then and it certainly wont help me now. So please just try to see it from my side. I'm trying to move on with my life and I think you should too. With a woman that wants you' she said as he looked her with hurt and frustration. She wasn't gonna listen to him. The Goku in him was screaming at her to let him into her life again

'Is that for the best?' he asked in a low tone as she nodded

'Yeah I think it is' she answered softly. The silence between them was eerie till she broke it 'Well I'm gonna go to bed now. You can see yourself out right? Goodnight Vegito' she said as she headed upstairs

'Goodnight Chi…' he whispered and then instant transmissioned his way out as chichi headed to her room and sat on the edge of her bed, looking in the mirror, she undid the bun in her hair and moved it to one side and stroked the love mark that was still there.

Goku felt so close to her but she couldn't have him, or touch him, every time she closed her eyes she could feel him near her. Stroking her body, kissing her lips and pleasuring her in more ways than one. She removed all of her clothes and decided to take advantage of an empty house. Vegito transmissioned back to capsule corp and looked around. He may as well had better start calling it home now. He was annoyed at chichi. Why couldn't she just talk to him, even if she wanted to yell or scream at him, he could take that! But being pushed aside, it was another matter entirely, was she really just not gonna try. The Goku in him really wanted to be there for her but it was just downright impossible with the way she was behaving. He walked into the corridor and looked on the floor to see a bunch of rose petals on the ground leading to the end of the corridor, he followed them all the way to the far room and looked up, the door partially opened and out popped a long seductive leg and foot in a black high heel. Then door opened wide as Bulma leaned in the door way wearing a Sexy Red Teddy Lingerie that featured an underwired mesh with V shape design, lace panels, wet look waist band, low back with buttoned keyhole, removable garter straps and adjustable hook and eye crotch closure with a Cheeky cut back. Vegito couldn't look away. She was beautiful! And kinda naked, his eyes averted out of respect when she smirked walking towards him

'You don't need to look away Vegito. This is for your benefit' she grinned

'Bulma…..this is…I can't…' he stammered

'Lost for words I see' she grinned

'This is very…. Flattering Bulma but…' He started to talk as she then sighed in frustration

'2 Months of this Vegito! You have avoided this for two months! Seriously am I that terrible a choice!?' She huffed

'I didn't say that I just… I don't think this is right.'

'Why not?! Cause you're meant to be with somebody else!? Let me tell you something, You may share a body with Goku and I have had to come to terms with that BUT Vegeta is there too, and I know he wants to be with me! So why don't you just give in to his needs and love his wife' she said

'it isn't easy Bulma, you have to understand I'm finding this difficult' he said as she walked to him and made him look at her and sighed

'I know believe me when I say, I do envy you for trying to do the right thing, But chi….. well she's given us her blessing to move on with our lives, I thought there would be a huge fight and our friendship would fracture but it hasn't. she's letting us be happy and we gotta take that advantage because we'll all be miserable in the long run. And she's a great person and tough. She's moving on with our lives and I think its time we did the same, don't you?' She asked as he looked at her, he had to admit. She was right. Chichi had said they could be together so what was stopping him being with Bulma. He leaned in to kiss her gently as she was quick to wrap her arms around him pulling him into the bedroom and shutting the door behind her.

After their lustful encounter. Bulma was fast asleep on vegitos's chest, her ripped lingerie on the floor and she still had her heels on, Vegito sat there, an arm on her back and an arm behind his head looking out the window. The last hour had partially been great! To be back with Bulma, remembering how good she made him feel and love her like he used to, but another part of him. Was feeling so much pain over guilt! Why would he feel guilt? He knew which part did, the part of which was loving someone else and felt he had just betrayed her. What was he gonna do when she finds out? If she wasn't angry then, then she would defiantly be now.
