Chapter 6 – New Relationships

6 Months since Chichi's first date with Cain and they had been on a lot more since then. Chichi was placing the flowers he had sent for her to her café and she couldn't help but smile. A small card was attached to them as she read it aloud

'To Gorgeous, Hope you like the flowers and I'll see you later. From your Man, Cain' She read smiling. She still couldn't get her head around the fact….she had a boyfriend! It felt great. So many things about him made her blush, and thinking about him was the start of it, his intelligence, his charm, his sense of humour and he was so handsome, and he liked her, it was like being in school where you are the nerdy girl and the hottest guy in school asks you to the prom. Chichi could remember how he asked her like it was yesterday….

Flashback

Chichi and Cain had been seeing one another for 3 months since they met and this night was about to change their status overall. They had just left the bar and were both a little tipsy from the night of drinking. Cain had asked to accompany him to go his co worker's retirement party and needless to say it went out like a bang, so many glasses of wine and who ordered the shots? Cain and Chichi stumbled out of the bar and were both walking on the sidewalk.

'Nimburr…Nimbu…..Min,…wait….nimb….' Chichi was having a hard talking and trying to call for her ride.

'You gonna call your cloud?'

'Well I gotta get home somehowww' She slurred as he laughed

'I've never seen you so drunk before'

'That makes two of us' she giggled

'Forget the cloud. Crash at my place, come on' He held his hand out for her as she took it

'Well aren't you a sweet gentlemen?' Chichi giggled

'Well what are boyfriends for?' He laughed as she gasped and stopped

'B…..Boyfriend?' she asked as he realised what he said

'Wait…. I mean….ummmm….. well yeah, I guess I mean boyfriend. Chichi I really like you, and I mean like like like you! We've been on God knows how many dates together. I like how you give me free coffees when I come into the café, I like how your laugh sounds like a mix between a hyena and a pixie' he said making her laugh 'I Like how you listen to my problems and help me through every situation like an angel on my shoulder. Chichi. You're such an amazing woman and I'd be honoured if you gave me a chance to prove myself and be…..well… your man' he said as chichi stood there. Admittingly he was really drunk but in her drunk state, it was the sweetest monologue she had heard in a long time. She jumped into his arms and hugged him making them both fall over and laugh hard, yeah they needed to sober up.

The next morning Chichi woke up in a very comfy bed and looked around to notice she wasn't in her home but someone else's. she guessed Cain. Her eyes widened thinking what they might have done, she looked down and saw she was wearing a very baggy shirt and only her underwear on underneath, She sighed in relief. Her hair was down and her make up smudged over her face. She walked into the en-suite and washed her face. She then walked out of the bedroom and looked around, the place was amazing. It was spacious and clean, she then looked over to the studio kitchen and saw Cain's back turned from her, he was wearing pyjama bottoms but no shirt, chichi couldn't help but stare. He may have not been a martial artist or a sayien. But he worked out and it showed on his biceps and his shoulders. He may not have been able to fight aliens form another planet, but he bet he could hold her no problem at all. She bit her lip and stared, she had never been so confident to check a man out but he was a different matter to her. She then thought about what was said last night, she may have drunk but she remembered what he said, question was, did he? She walked over to the kitchen as he turned around to greet, as he did, chichi had a perfect view of his chest and abs. defiantly could lift her. He was Gorgeous. She snapped herself out of it but he could tell she was staring at him

'My eyes are up here' he joked as she blushed 'Hungry?' he asked

'Starving' she nodded as she sat at the table, he brought her a coffee and made her some waffles, she had never had this kind of pampering from anyone before but she liked it. It was nice to be looked after for a change.

'So how's your head?' he grinned as she laughed

'I think I'm never having shots again'

'Yeah that was Mickey's fault. I told him it be a bad idea'

'Ummmmm…..did you undress me?' she blushed

'Oh well no, you kinda fell in a puddle on the way back here and then you started rummaging through my clothes trying to find something to wear, and started undressing in front of me, I laughed and threw that shirt at you and you threw it on still wearing your bra and underwear. Then you asked me to strip in front of you' he laughed as chichi rubbed her head and blushed hard, she was so drunk last night.

'Yep, never doing shots again' she laughed

'Don't worry, it was funny to see you like that, I'm just glad you were safe.'

'Well I still had fun, and I appreciate you letting me stay here, I've never been to your place before'

'Its not much, but it's a roof over my head and you're welcome here anytime if you can't get home' he said as she reached her hand to hold his

'Your incredible' she said as she looked in his eyes and smiled. She thought about what he had said last night, and if they hadn't fallen over laughing she would have answered him properly, now seemed like the best time to answer 'And yes' she smiled

'Yes what?' he asked as she giggled

'You've already forgotten what you said last night, out on the sidewalk?' she fluttered her eyes as he thought back to last night and then remembered and laughed

'You…..You remember that?'

'Yes'

'Chichi I was so drunk I'm so sorry i…'

'Cain! I say yes' she smiled as he looked at her

'You mean…?'

'Looks like you're stuck with me' she winked as he smiled and pulled her into an embrace. She had a boyfriend.

End Of Flashback

Chichi loved thinking back to that memory it was one of her favourites. I mean sure she was drunk and hungover but it was still sweet. When she told the boys they were happy but she could tell Gohan was a little unnerved. Probably cause he was wondering what His father would say, but that was the least of her problems. She hadn't really seen Vegito since his warning. It was better that way, from what she could gather from 18 and Launch he seemed to be moving on with Bulma and was happy. Good! Bout time they both try and move on. Chichi told 18 and Launch and they were very pleased for her. She was pleased everyone was supporting this. As she was thinking about her new man, He walked into the café and leaned over the counter and waited for her to serve him

'Yes sir can I help you?' She teased

'Yes you can, I would like a couple of coffees and a your time this evening say at 6?' he grinned as she laughed

'You know I can do the coffees. Depends on what plans you got this time?' she grinned making him his order.

'Why do you have to know everything about my plans, can't you accept a surprise?'

'You know I'm not a huge fan of surprises'

'You'll like this one believe me, Shall I pick up after you close up?'

'Sounds like a plan' she smiled and handed him his coffees as he went to leave

'Oh wait there was something else' he said leaning on the counter

'What is it?' she asked as he thought hard scratching his head

'What was it? What was it? What was it? Oh wait I know….' He smirked and leaned in to kiss her sweetly, chichi laughed in the kiss, he was always playful when it came to kissing her. He pulled away, sent her a wink and left. Chichi stood there blushing. She never imagined kissing anyone else but Goku. But it felt good to do it. She remembered their first kiss too. What a moment that was…

Flashback

Chichi had planned a day of going to a festival, It was Cain's birthday and he always wanted to go to one and camp out watching the concerts from below, she managed to get a privet part of land and they had a perfect view of the shows below. Cain couldn't believe she had put so much effort for him. It was amazing. He and her had been together for about a month since their time at the bar and they had only gonna as far as hold hands and hug. He understood if she wasn't ready for sex because it was a big deal, although she had before, she had only ever been with one person. And in all honesty he too hadn't been with anyone else other than his ex. It was a big deal but he wanted them both to be ready, but he was ready to kiss her, problem was he wasn't exactly sure how she would react. He needed to be cool abut this, charm her a little. As he watched the last show of the evening. Chichi was cooking up some burgers on her camping grill. She placed in a bun and handed him his cheese burger. It finally finished as they ley back on the blanket and looked up at the starry sky

'I can't believe you did this for me' he sighed

'Well everyone needs a good birthday. I just hope it was good for you?' she asked

'You kidding?! Its been incredible' he chuckled as they watched the stars. Cain turned on his small digital radio as a slow song came to play, he smiled and got up and offered his arm out

'Wanna dance?' he asked as she blushed. She nodded and took his arm as she placed one arm on his shoulder and held his hand as his arm wrapped around her waist as they swayed to the music.

Chichi felt her heart race and pounding as if it was trying to escape from her chest. She felt like she was dreaming and looking at this man was like…..well she couldn't find the words but it was defiantly good. She listened to the words and kept her eyes locked on his.

*Try as I may, I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing.*

He then twirled her around as she giggled. She felt so close to him and wondered how much closer they could get. Cain couldn't stop looking at her either. He knew if he didn't try now, he would miss a perfect opportunity to make this memory memorable for the both of them. He had to go for it!

He leaned in gently and slowly to let her know what he was gonna do as she slowly gasped but didn't stop him. In those seconds she thought about Goku, it would be like she was betraying him but then again it didn't matter anymore. How could it? She looked to Cain, this wonderful man who had done nothing but make her smile since meeting him. She knew she wanted to be with him. She leaned in too as their lips met for the very first time. To her it was defiantly different, but it was amazing. So soft and gentle and he felt warm. Cain felt like he was running on air, he had all his worries washed away because of her and was contempt, the kiss alone was better than his birthday day combined! They gently pulled away as Chichi looked to him and smiled as he did, then kissed again. It was magical.

End Of Flashback

Chichi blushed at that memory. It was strange to kiss anyone else but Goku but at the same time it felt good. After that chichi was obligated to talk about Cain more often if it came into conversation, especially to the boys, Gohan and Goten loved their mother and knew she had been through a lot and it was good to see her look better with herself and more confident and Cain had played an important role in that, Chichi knew They boys struggled a little when she first told them about her relationship but they put their worries aside for her sake. Goten was young enough to happy oblige while Gohan had some doubts it could come crashing down, before they had met him. Everyone was nervous about the first encounter…

Flashback

Chichi had the day off from the café and decided to treat the boys to a day out. They had a nice day in the theme park and even brought Trunks and Videl along. Goten and Trunks were getting hyper over the amount of candy floss they had consumed as chichi laughed

'Don't go eating too much now, you don't want to get sick while on the rides'

'We won't' Goten nodded. Chichi turned to her other son who was not really engaging in the time

'Everything okay sweetie?' Chichi asked as he nodded. Videl decided to clear the air

'So Chichi how's things going with Cain?' She asked

'Oh Videl he is wonderful. Its not often you can meet someone as clever and funny and good-looking but he is the full package' chichi smiled

'Oh that's great. I can't wait to meet him properly, you know aside from the occasional drop in for coffee meetings'

'You will soon I promise'

'Maybe some of us aren't interested' Gohan huffed as the ladies looked to him, chichi could tell he was having a hard time over this. But that was only because he hadn't met Cain. Goten was a little young to understand the situation and would be open to anything.

'Gohan I understand its kinda weird to see your mother seeing someone other than your father, but you gotta understand. I really like Cain, he makes me happy and right now all I want is for you to see that. Look I'll tell you what? Why don't I invite him over for dinner tomorrow? That way you can meet him and get to know him a little?' She suggested as Gohan huffed

'No thanks Mom I have plans with Videl, but feel free to make plans with your 'Boyfriend'' He huffed. Videl was getting annoyed at Gohan for treating him mom like so and it wasn't fair, Chichi didn't want to get upset over it but she could understand his behaviour and decided to let him be

'I ummm…..I'm gonna go find the boys' she said and left the teenage couple to it, Videl didn't hold back after that

'What is your problem?!' she huffed

'She shouldn't' be dating anyone its weird and it feels wrong!' he huffed

'Oh grow up Gohan, she may be your mom but she is also her own person and she needs to learn that for herself, because from what I gather all she had ever done is run around taking care of Goku and You! Don't you think you owe her a chance to actually be happy about something she is excited over!?' Videl lectured him as Gohan's expression softened

'But Videl, Mom has only ever been loyal to Dad, what if she falls in love with this guy?!'

'That is her choice, like it was Goku's choice to Die and leave you for 7 years and his choice to fuse. He knew the consequences and he did it anyway. So maybe you can back off a little cause all your mom has done is try and move on from a heart-breaking experience!' She huffed. Gohan looked to his mom in the distance as she laughed at Goten's jokes, he had to admit, he hadn't seen her so happy since She found out his dad was coming back for a day. It just felt like She was forgetting about Goku but he knew it wouldn't happen, most days he wished Vegito could just separate and his parents would be together again. But that wasn't gonna happen. And his mother had been raving about this Cain for a while, maybe he owned it to her to at least meet him before judging him.

'*sigh* I guess you're right' he admitted as Videl smiled

'Great so go tell her that you want to meet him tomorrow' she ordered as he looked to her

'Wait what about….'

'Its cancelled, after your behaviour you can hold off till the end of the week to get another date from me. Now go talk to her!' Videl shoved him towards his mom as he huffed. he loved Videl but she was a pain half the time. He walked to his mom and cleared his throat

'Ummm mom?' he started

'Yes dear?'

'I decided that maybe it would be….. nice to meet with Your new… Ummm….. Boyfriend. So if you want to invite him over then I'll be there' he said as she looked at him softly

'Are you sure?' she asked as he looked to Videl who was telling to nod yes

'Yes I'm sure!' he said as Chichi smiled as she gave her son a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

'Oh Gohan I can't tell how much that means to me! I better let him know then' She said and went to call him. Gohan stood there not entirely sure he was doing the right thing, I mean if he supported this, then he felt as if he was betraying his own father.

The next evening came and the Son house had been cleaned from top to bottom and Chichi had a 3 course meal lined up ready. Goten had helped through the day as Gohan stayed in his room to study, Chichi knew he may be a little uneasy About this and honestly it made her nervous too. Cain only had to say one wrong thing and Gohan would hate him for life, to chichi it was flattering/annoying. She found it sweet that Gohan was caring for his mom's wellbeing but at the same time, it was none of his business and needed to back off. But she couldn't voice her opinion of it as it would only make matters worse and someone could say something they couldn't take back. But it wasn't about that tonight, tonight was about Cain Meeting her kids, and she was positive he would love them as much as she did. Everything was in place as chichi advised the boys to put on their best clothes as she wore a black long sleeve jumpsuit and wore her hair in a ponytail on the side of her head. Goten wore a dark green blazer and black jeans as Gohan wore a white blazer in blue jeans.

'Aww you both look so smart' she squealed as the door knocked 'Okay that's him, now I want you both on your best behaviour, understand?' She warned as they nodded. Chichi went to open the door and a familiar face strolled in

'Hey sorry I'm late' he said kissing her cheek

'Oh that's okay glad you found the place' she said taking his coat and hanging It up

'I uhh…. Brought some wine' he gave her the bottle as she smiled

'Aww thank you. Well please come on in' she said and brought him into the kitchen and there stood her bys as if they were soldiers. 'Well boys, I'd like you to meet Cain' she introduced

'Hello there' he waved

'Cain this is my youngest son, Goten' She greeted as Cain offered his hand out to shake Goten's

'Well aren't you a little scrapper. Bet you keep your mom rushed off her feet' he joked as Goten laughed

'Well somebody has to. Right Mom?'

'You got that right' she smiled she then turned to Gohan 'And Cain, this is my eldest, Gohan' She greeted as Cain offered his hand out to shake his. Gohan looked down at the hand then at his mom who was pleading with him to just try and give him a chance. He sighed and shook it hard.

'Wow, you got a strong grip there, You're mom has told me a lot about you Gohan' Cain smiled

'She has?'

'Of course, always talking about how proud she is of you, I hear you're gonna be a scholar?'

'That's right' he nodded

'Well good for you, if only my girls were just as driven, you're obviously doing something right chi?' Cain chuckled as Chichi laughed. Gohan couldn't sense anything dangerous about the man. Maybe that was a good thing.

'Okay well the main course Is just about ready so why don't we start with the appetizers' she suggested as they sat at the table.

By dessert everyone was laughing at the Joke Goten had told and were having a great time. Even Gohan had lightened up and given Cain a chance and he had to admit, the guy was cool.

'Oh sweetie that was very funny' chichi smiled

'Krillen told me that and this is one I learned from master Roshi, so there was this girl…' Goten went to tell the Joke

'NO!' Gohan and Chichi yelled and stopped him

'Buddy never repeat the jokes master Roshi tells you okay?' Gohan said trying not to laugh as Goten didn't get it but nodded

'I'll kill that old man' Chichi mumbled as Cain yawned

'Well it's getting late, I better be getting back, I have work tomorrow, it was nice meeting you boys' He said

'It was nice to meet you too sir' Goten waved

'Oh you don't need to call me that kiddo, Cain is fine'

'Oh okay well goodnight Cain'

'Yeah and…*ahem* feel free to drop by any time' Gohan softly smiled as Cain nodded, chichi escorted him out and they stood outside

'Well that went well' He said

'Yes I have to admit, I was a little nervous about this whole thing but seems you have a way of charming everyone around you' she giggled as he wrapped his arms around her

'I never got to say earlier, you look amazing in that outfit' he grinned and pulled her into a strong kiss, chichi didn't complain and wrapped her arms around his neck. The kiss was getting a little heated, she needed to pull away fast, the two caught their breaths and smiled at the other.

'Stop by the café tomorrow?' she asked

'Of course' he said giving her one more kiss and then got in his car and took off. That night went better than she anticipated.

After that, she wondered how long it would be until he'd ask her to meet his children. It was a big step for her, she knew about his daughter, hell he talked about them a lot. And she wondered if they actually liked her, she remembered being very nervous…

Flashback

On her Lunch break, chichi went over to the construction site where Cain was working and brought him a sandwich from her café. They both sat on a bench and she noticed he was very quiet.

'What is it?' she asked

'What?'

'You're quiet, which means you wanna tell me or ask me something, so what is it?'

'Well…. I uhh…..'

'Oh no you're not gonna propose are you?!'

'What?! No! nothing like that!' he laughed as she giggled

'So come on, what's up?' she asked eating her sandwich

'Well I was wondering and its okay if you say no….. How would you feel about dinner tonight?'

'Well yeah sure why would you think I wouldn't?' she asked

'Well, we won't be the only ones there, You see my daughters are in town and I really would like it you all got to meet' he explained as Chichi gasped

'You…you want me to meet your kids?'

'Chi I know it's a big step but I just want them to see how happy you make their old man' he said as she happily sighed.

'Well you met the boys and that was better than I expected. Oh what the hell? Sure I'll be there' she smiled as he cheered

'Great! I'll let them know, I'll see you at Ruffolo's okay?' He asked as she nodded

'I'll be there' she smiled as she headed back to work. God this might go well or could come crashing down, she could be labelled as the evil stepmother!

Chichi arrived at the restaurant just before 6 and straightened herself out, she wanted to look presentable to Cain's children, as if she was meeting a king, or at least a duke. She wore a pair of black jeans and red boots and her an elbow length red shirt with a sweetheart neckline, she put her hair up in a messy bin and her make-up was simple and elegant. She was a little nervous, she knew how judgemental 16 year old kids could be and to top it, it was 16 year old girls! She took a deep breath and walked into the restaurant. In the far corner her eyes met with Cain as he walked over to her and kissed her cheek to comfort her

'Ready?' he asked

'Yeah' she nodded as he took her hand and brought her to the table and there she came across two beautiful identical twins, both with long brown hair and green eyes and one wore a blue vest with a white jacket and blue jeans and the other wore a white vest with a blue jacket and white jeans. And both wore their hair down and wore matching white Sneakers, And both were on their phones.

'Girls' Cain caught their attention as they put their phones down 'I'd like you to meet Chichi, Chi this is Chas' he introduced his daughter sitting on the left

'Hey' she waved looking at chichi up and down

'And this is Chelsea' He introduced the twin sitting on the right'

'Hey' She waved also looking at chichi Up and down, Chichi felt their judgment but shook it off

'Nice to meet you both' she smiled as she and Cain took their seats.

'I'm so glad you are here to meet them chi. This is really exciting for me'

'Of course, Your dad has talked about you both a lot.' Chichi grinned as they looked at the other

'Oh really and what does he say?' Chas asked

'Oh well, that your both planning to travel the world, that sounds interesting'

'Uhh huh' Chelsea rolled her eyes. Chichi gulped, this may be harder than she thought

The evening was coming to an end, they had only just finished their main courses and So far Chichi thought she was doing okay.

'I'll be right back girls, I just need to go to the restroom' Cain smiled and left Chichi with the girls

'So…..what classes do you enjoy in school?' She asked

'We know what your plan is!' Chas huffed as Chichi looked confused

'Excuse me?' She asked

'You playing this perfect princess crap to try and seduce our dad just so you can take all his money' Chelsea huffed

'Yeah so if you think you've got us fooled then you're wrong!' Chas added as Chichi sighed

'Girls, I assure, I really like your dad for who he is, Not for his money'

'Yeah well you can forget about him if I was you, he still loves our mom and eventually they are gonna get back together!' Chelsea huffed. Chichi knew this was gonna be hard and tried to reason with them.

'Well I still love my husband' she said as they looked at each other

'So why don't you just go back to him and leave our dad alone!' Chas huffed

'Well, He's met someone else, and he's happy and well…. I guess I was ready to move on too' she said as they looked at each other

'Hmph! Well we don't trust that you actually like our dad, he has been vulnerable since our mom's betrayal, and we know he would be taken advantage of in his state, thus throwing his money around!' Chelsea huffed

'Well… I'm not with your dad for his money. I'm actually pretty good on the financial front' Chichi answered

'Oh right cause you own a café?' Chas asked

'Well that and the fact that I'm the daughter of a king' she chuckled, that made their eyes widen

'You….you are?' Chelsea asked

'So you're a princess?' Chas asked

'That's right, so I've always been secure with my money. But I understand that you're looking out for you're father, I thinks it's sweet that you are protecting him.'

'We just worry about him' Chelsea admitted

'My boys acted the same way when they met your dad'

'You have kids?' Chas asked

'Yes, two boys. And if you think girls are bad, trust me, boys are worse' Chichi winked as the twins chuckled

'So… Do you have like any cool stuff as a princess?' Chelsea asked

'Well, I have these bracelets' Chichi answered showing her wrists showing off her bracelets as the twins were enchanted by the glowing jewels 'These we gifts from some family members to celebrate…' she went on to tell them her story as the girls listened in. Cain was waiting on the other side of the wall. He thought if he left them alone for a moment it might get them to open up, and he had no idea the girls worried as much over him, and the stuff they said about him still loving their mother, he'd be lying if he said he didn't still love Charity, but she hurt him. How could he forgive her? He left it for another few more minutes and then joined them again.

'Sorry I took so long, hope you girls are getting along' he said as the Twins nodded

'She's actually kinda cool dad' Chas admitted

'So cool' Chelsea smiled

'Awww no I think you two are cool' chichi smiled as Cain sat back and watch them get along, this went better then he hoped. And he knew chichi would ace this meeting, she was amazing.

End Of Flashback

Chichi Was glad things went well between her and Cain's twins. They seemed to like her better than when they first met her. And so did the boys when they met Cain, It just made things go smoother and she felt more comfortable with the situation. Although despite how she happy she was, she couldn't help but wonder How Vegito was getting, she hadn't really seen him, and it was better if she and he kept out of each other's way, so when she saw him walk into a room, she would be subtle and walk out. Just to avoid having a conversation with him. He didn't matter anymore, he was with Bulma and Bulma was happy with him, and he was happy with her, so it made her happy to be with Cain. But she still couldn't help but wonder what was going through his head?
