Chapter 7 – Birthday Bothers

'Another day, Another Zeni' Launch cheered as she closed the door of the café and turning the open sign around to say closed as Videl started sweeping the floor and Chichi wiping down the tables.

'Well what can I say? My customers love me' Chichi winked as Videl chuckled

'You know I gotta say, your so much chipper than I've ever seen you Chichi, Like your relaxed and contempt'

'Well, I guess I am, everything feels good right now'

'Would that happen to be because of a special someone?' Launch teased as the warrior princess blushed

Oh come on…'

'Your sexy macho man.'

'Cain! Can we please just call him Cain?' Chi giggled

'You like him huh?' Videl asked as Chichi blushed and sighed

'Oh Videl, He's… he's so amazing. We have a great time together' she smiled

'Great so when are we gonna properly meet him?' Videl asked

'Yeah! I'd like to see him around all of us, let us meet the man who makes your face go all flustered'

'I don't go all flustered' chichi blushed

'Oh really so why are you blushing?' Launch teased as Videl laughed

'Shut up' Chichi giggled

'Oh come on Chi, why don't you bring him to an event we're having or something?' Videl asked

'Like where?' She asked

'Isn't it Trunks' Birthday next week?' Videl asked 'Bring him to the party!'

'Hey good idea' Launch nodded

'I don't think so' Chichi quickly said no as The 2 ladies looked to the other

'What why not?' Videl asked

'Well you know, it's a big step and everyone will be there and…. Well…' she couldn't finish her answer but the girls knew

'You're worried what 'He's' gonna think aren't you?' Launch asked as She sighed and turned to them

'No…..yes….kind of. I'm not one to fret over what others think but with him I just don't know whether or not he's gonna kick off or not be around, I don't want to bring that sort of Bother to Bulma and Trunks, especially Trunks. No kid wants their birthday ruined by parents do they?'

'Chichi, its sweet your thinking of everyone but you have a right to bring him if you want to. He's your Boyfriend now, let us see how happy he makes you, screw everyone else. We can see he makes you happy, so ask him to come' Launch instructed, chichi looked to Videl who nodded in agreement. Looks like she was bringing a plus one, all she had to do now was let him know.

The Next day, Chichi walked to the construction site where Cain was working and walked into the building and found several men in hard hats and holding heavy machinery, one of them noticed her and walked over to her

'Sorry Love, you can't be here its closed off to civilians' he said

'I'm actually looking For Cain, is he around?' she asked as he grinned

'You must be the girlfriend, chichi right?' he asked as she nodded 'Well okay, but don't go distracting him too long' he joked making her blush '2nd Floor, first door on your left, watch your step up there' he said

'Thank you' she smiled and headed off, she arrived to the 2nd floor and walked into the room where she saw only him with a large sledge hammer knocking down a wall, not wearing a shirt, looked like the job was hard and sweaty, chichi couldn't help but admire from a distance, his back was turned from the doorway as she watched his muscles flex and work as he waved the hammer, slamming it against the wall, he turned around to notice her and smiled

'Oh Chichi! I'm sorry I didn't notice you' he said putting the hammer down.

'Don't worry, I just got here' she said walking into the room as he went to put his vest off 'You….can leave that off' she winked as he grinned

'Like what you see eh? a man in action?' he said flexing making her laugh

'I'm not complaining' she blushed as he sweetly kissed her lips

'Well I know you didn't come here to watch me half naked, So what brings you here?' he asked as she held a lunch bag out

'I brought Lunch, I made 2 sandwiches, you can ether have BBQ chicken or Prawn Mayonnaise?'

'BBQ'

'All yours' she grinned and handed him his sandwich as they sat together overlooking the town below, they finished up and Cain wrapped an arm around her

'Thanks for this' he kissed her forehead

'Anytime' she smiled as he got up about to get back to work as she sighed 'Cain?'

'Yeah?'

'I just wanted to ask you umm…..well my friend Bulma, its her son's birthday on Saturday and I was just wondering, since Goten will obviously go, and I will probably go, if maybe you wanted to come with me? It would give everyone the chance to meet you properly' she asked as he smiled

'Kid's Party? Boy do I miss them' he joked as she softly chuckled

'You don't have to but I thought maybe since…. we're together, I might show you off to my friends'

'Show me off? What am I? your show Pony?'

'You know what I mean' she nudged him

'I was kidding, Yeah why not? Could be fun.' He smiled as she did

'Okay and there's another thing'

'Oh?'

'Vegito might be there' he said as he then looked a little nervous

'Might?'

'Okay he'll most likely be there'

'Hmm….'

'Look don't worry, he won't do anything, I just thought I'd prepare you now rather than let you find out while you're there'

'I understand, look If you're not worried, than neither am I, what's the worst that can happen?' he smiled as she did and they embraced, he was right, what was the worst thing that could happen?

A couple of days past and Gohan and Goten were out training with Vegito, they could keep up with him for the first 4 hours but now they were on their 9th! Goten was getting exhausted and couldn't get why his dad was still pushing himself, he was already the strongest in the universe so why was he still going? Gohan could see the bruises on his body the cuts and he needed to rest up but it seemed it was the last thing he wanted to do, and he wouldn't dare tell him, his dad had been very tense and frustrated in the past few months and he had an idea on what that reason could be. Gohan had knocked his dad to the ground and landed down by him

'You okay dad?' he asked

'Let's go again' He groaned as Gohan huffed

'Dad no! Look at yourself your on the verge of killing yourself just take a break for a minute!' Gohan huffed

'I don't need a break! I need to keep training!'

'No You don't! You've been doing nothing But! Please just stop for a minute, I mean you don't want Bulma to see you like this do you?' He asked as Vegito huffed, why was everything about Bulma these days? He loved her but it seemed like everything he did was annoying her, whether it was he was training, not spending time with trunks, getting trunks hurt while training, or not spending time with her! He couldn't catch a break! And training was a good distraction from it all. He looked at Gohan and sighed, maybe a break wasn't such a bad idea. Goten flew down to meet them both and sat with them.

'So Are you excited for this weekend dad?' Goten asked

'This weekend?' He asked

'Yeah! Trunks's Birthday Party, everyone is gonna be there' Goten smiled

'Yeah even mom Is closing up the café so all the girls can be there' Gohan added

'I hear He's gonna have a huge cake this year, even bigger than the one from last year'

'What's bigger then 12 tier?'

'15 tier'

'Damn Bulma knows some good caterers' Gohan laughed, Vegito went quiet

'So…..you're mother is gonna be there?' He asked

'Yeah, she Told Bulma she'd give the girls a day off at the café so That's when she decided to close up for the day'

'How is she these days?' He asked not sure if he wanted to know

'She's happy dad, better I guess. Seems Cain is a good influence on her' Gohan answered

'And what's he like? This….Cain?'

'He's cool, he says for work he sometimes drives those really big cranes with a wrecking ball and he's allowed to knock down run-down buildings, he said when I'm older he'd let me try it out'

'Not that you need a wrecking ball pal, your head is enough' Gohan laughed

'So he….makes her happy?' Vegito asked

'Yeah I guess, you'll find yourself anyway' Gohan said

'What do you mean?' He asked

'Mom is bringing him along to Trunks' party' Goten answered, that made Vegito's blood boil! It was one thing to be told his wife had a new partner! But it didn't mean he wanted to see it!

'She…..He….Umm….You're sure?' he asked

'Yeah, dad don't worry he is a nice guy, and I hate to admit…..he's good for mom, she needs this. She's been through a lot' Gohan sighed, he didn't want to admit I but he had not seen his mom so happy. And she of all people did deserve that. Vegito sighed and looked to the horizon, in his head he could hear the Goku in him yelling at the top of his lungs, screaming for Chichi to be with him instead of a guy he had not met! Gohan and Goten called it a day with their dad and went Home Vegito arrived back at capsule corp and Saw Bulma sitting down in the kitchen waiting for him, and she didn't look happy.

'Where the hell have you been?' She huffed

'Training' he answered bluntly

'That's all you gotta say? Vegito you have been training every day constantly for the past 2 months! I have barley seen you and you look like death!' She yelled as he huffed at her

'Bulma that's what happens when you train, you tend to push yourself to your limits'

'Yeah well your limits are gonna get you killed if you are not careful! You never spend anytime here with me! I need to know if you still actually wanna be here with Trunks and I!'

'I'm here aren't i?!'

'Yeah but just saying that doesn't mean its true!'

'Bulma what do you want from me!?'

'I want to know if you actually love me! Or are you thinking about her!'

'I love you, and I love chichi! But…we agreed I would be here with you!'

'Yeah but is it what you want?!' she yelled as he went quiet and turned away from her! 'DON'T TURN AWAY FROM ME ANSWER ME!'

'I DON'T KNOW!' He yelled as she gasped 'I don't know what I want, all I know is that i….' he couldn't tell her how he really felt, she'd only explain it away as if it was an illness, there was only one person he could really talk to about how he felt but she didn't have any time for him

'Vegito….. Talk to me! I can help!' she said and placed her hands on his face making him look at her 'Vegeta…..' she whispered as he frowned, he took her hands off him and backed off

'I'm not Vegeta! I am Vegito!'

'That's what I meant!'

'No it wasn't and you know it! You think you can summon him but you can't cause he and Goku are here together!'

'Yeah and no offence, but if Goku wasn't around you in your mind, you and me would be okay! Instead I'm having to deal with your pent up needs to be with Chichi! Deal with the fact she has Moved On!'

'MAYBE I DON'T LIKE THAT SHE HAS!'

'SO WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO?'

'I don't have to talk about this!'

'Oh Yes you Do! Cause in case it hasn't landed in your brain Yet, I am the woman you are supposed to be with!'

'WELL MAYBE THAT WAS A MISTAKE!' He roared as she gasped, silence fell between them as Bulma sat down and small tears were forming in her eyes, Vegito huffed to himself

'Look Bulma i….'

'Just get out' she whispered as he huffed and left to go train even more in the gravity room! He pushed the gravity flow to 700G and he just kept punching and kicking the air, despite the weight trying to bring him, down, he was gonna kill himself if he wasn't careful! But people would assume he didn't care! It was the only thing he could do to keep him distracted.

Finally the day Of Trunks' party arrived and everyone was arriving on time. Krillen and 18 arrived first and Marron was excited to give trunks his presents. Then Yamcha arrived with Puar, Tien, Launch and Chioautzu and helped themselves to the drinks, Videl then arrived with Mr Satan and Buu. Master roshi arrived with Oolong and Turtle, and finally last but not least Goten, Gohan, Chichi and Cain arrived.

'Mom can we go inside?' Goten said already jumping out of the car

'Yes go ahead, we'll catch up' She smiled as the boys headed in, she was nervous. This would be the first time Cain was gonna meet everyone, and she hoped things would go smoothly. She was also worried if a certain someone might have something to say.

'You okay?' Cain asked as she sighed and nodded smiling softly

'Yeah, just little nervous I guess' She admitted

'It'll be fine' he smiled and took her hand, she grasped it tight as they walked in, the place was beaming with decorations, the presents all stacked on one table, a bounce house for the kids and a buffet all set up, enough to feed at least 4 sayiens and the rest. Yamcha was already helping himself to plenty of the free booze as everyone chatted away. Chichi brought Cain over to the guys and they were all being very nice to him, Krillen and Tien were very welcoming towards him as the Launch and 18 thought he was cute. Bulma was talking with Videl when she looked over at Chichi and her new partner, she had to admit he was good looking, and he seemed nice, and defiantly into her. She thought she'd go and introduce herself.

'Hey! I'm Bulma! Welcome to capsule Corp' she offered her hand so he shaked her hand.

'Nice to Meet you, I'm Cain'

'So you're the one who's wooed my friend chichi here'

'Bulma!' Chichi blushed

'Yeah you could say that' He chuckled

'Well I must say she never mentioned you were a handsome devil' She grinned

'And she never mentioned she had beautiful friends' he answered back

'Oh stop, chi he is a keeper' She smiled

'Yeah he's great, well I'll be right back I'm just gonna get us a drink okay' She smiled as she went up to go grab a couple of glasses of Punch, she poured herself one and one for Cain and then went back only to turn around a receive a fright when Vegito was standing behind her

'Jeez! Don't sneak up on people like that' she gasped

'Sorry' he said

'I didn't think you'd be here'

'It is my Son's birthday you know?' he frowned

'No I know but I know what Goku used to be like, always did arrive late' she chuckled

'Well I'm not him!'

'Okay, I know that' she said, he was a little snappy and she didn't get why. He turned to see Bulma talking to who he could only assume to be Cain.

'That him?' he asked as she turned in his direction and softly smiled

'Yeah, that's Cain' she answered smiling.

'doesn't look strong' he huffed

'What?'

'He doesn't look strong, I bet even Yamcha could kick his ass' Vegito smirked, Chichi didn't like how he was treating her partner.

'You're unbelievable' she huffed

'But right'

'Grow up Vegito! Not everything is about power and strength you know? I like Him just the way he is'

'Oh yeah? And what does he do that's so special?'

'Well for one thing, he doesn't piss off for months on end without so much as a phone call, or go off and kill himself because it suits him'

'That's not fair' he argued

'No what's not fair is that you're judging my relationship without so much as giving him a chance, you don't see the fact that he makes me happy! And why do you care anyway?'

'Do you really have to ask! You may not like it, but I still care about you chichi!'

'I don't mind if you do, but that does not mean you get to question my relationships'

'I can if I still have feelings for you'

'You have Bulma to share your feelings with, I don't matter anymore, I have moved on' She huffed

'Oh really?'

'Yes, Cain is my boyfriend, He's kind, funny, caring, loyal and as you can see, very Handsome! He has a decent job, looks after his children and spoils me. We go on dates, we hug, we kiss….' He cut her off

'Oh right and that's it?' he grinned 'Can't seal the deal can you?' he smirked, chichi needed him to back off, maybe a lie could help do that.

'Who says we haven't?' she raised a bow, making his smiled drop

'What?'

'Yeah. That's right. We do it! Plenty of times, whenever the mood strikes us' she lied. She knew she hadn't been with Cain, she wasn't ready yet. But maybe if she lied about it, it would Make Vegito forget about her completely.

'You're Lying!' He huffed

'Am i?'

'Yes!'

'Well I'm not, I like when we have our fun, in fact why don't I just go grab him and we go into one of the guest bedrooms, get a little quickie in before the cake? I'm sure he's not gonna complain….' she smirked

'Shut Up!' He huffed as she frowned, but stopped talking 'You wouldn't…..i….you…I know you too well'

'Obviously not. You gotta deal with it, I am with Cain and I haven't felt this happy in a long time. You thought after some time I would just succumb to feelings that don't exist and I would graciously fall into your arms don't you? Well you're wrong, you thought I'd be at your mercy and you liked that didn't you?! You know what I think? I think maybe you just don't want to admit that he has touched me, made love to me and the fact that I have enjoyed it!' she lied.

'Stop Talking!' He grunted

'You see? You don't like the fact that I am happy with someone else, And you know what Vegito, I had to accept the fact that you are with Bulma and I am pleased that you are happy with her, so why can't you just be happy for me, the Goku in you would only want me to be happy!'

'The Goku in me would want you! And you want him!'

'I will never stop wanting him! You can bet on that!'

'So why have you lost your sense of loyalty!?' he yelled as she grew angry

'Don't You DARE Question my loyalty to Goku! I have been nothing but loyal! The Last 7 Years, I was alone, I had no one! Because I loved him and only him! But now he's gone and he isn't coming back! So we have to move on now! You have, So why can't i?!' she huffed

'Because deep down, you know its not what you want' he said softly as she looked at him

'Wh….what?'

'You and I both know you kept away because your scared of your feelings for me. You don't want to hurt anyone and I understand that, but we can't carry on like this'

'You don't know what you're talking about…..'

'Yes I do, because I feel it too. You have plagued my mind since my first day back on earth, and I pray you'll just see that we need eachother just as much as anything else'

'Vegito. This is wrong! I'm with Cain! You're with Bulma, I won't be part of whatever it is your thinking!'

'What I think is that there is a love there that you don't want to admit'

'No…..'

'No? Well then Tell me chi…say you don't love me? Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't Love me' he asked softly as Chichi felt Goku's presence and only him. She looked in his eyes and she felt a familiar warmth, his passion and his love. It was almost enough to make her do something she knew she'd end up regretting, She was gonna answer but then Cain walked over to them as she looked away from him and cleared her throat.

'Hey….everything okay here?' he asked concerned , she turned to him and softly smiled and wrapped around his arm.

'yeah, ummmm... everything is fine here' She looked to Vegito and cleared her throat 'Oh Sorry This is Vegito….. ummm the Boys' Father and Trunks' father…And this is Cain….my Partner' She introduced the two men to the other and couldn't help but feel awkward in between the both of them. Cain walked to him and offered his hand out

'Hello, its good to finally meet you' he said as Vegito looked at him, he turned to Chichi who was pleading with him not to make a problem, he huffed and shook his hand, trying very hard not to break it in half

'You too' he said in low tone

'Strong grip' Cain laughed nervously as chichi gave Cain his drink. 'Chichi has told me all about you' he said

'Oh really?' he looked to her who kept her eyes to the ground

'Yeah, she clearly admires you, and she said you're a good man. And a good father, you have great kids, you should be proud'

'I am.' Vegito answered in a flat tone, Cain felt a little awkward and chichi felt nervous and spoke up

'Sorry I meant to get back quicker but we we're just discussing the boys' chichi laughed nervously 'Right?' she looked to Vegito who huffed

'Yes…. the boys' he said

*Ahem* Bulma treating you well sweetie?' She asked her partner

'She's entertaining, I'll give her that. In fact, she mentioned that a few games were gonna be played, adults only apparently, and we need a partner, so dare I ask you wanna be mine?' he winked as she giggled. Vegito didn't like how he behaved around him, it threatened him.

'I would love to, Lead the Way' she smiled and took his arm and walked away with him, she turned back to look at Vegito and just looked, no frown or smile, just looked at him then away again. Vegito could feel the pent up anger inside him and it wanted to blow up! the smallest of things could easily piss him off right now, and he had no one to talk to, Krillen and the guys have been a little awkward with since the fusion, Krillen felt bad for him because part of was his best friend but their conversations were very different now. The only people he really had was Bulma and the boys, and he wanted chichi too. But that wasn't gonna happen! And it angered him! He wanted to go back to the way he was, 2 beings! Goku and Vegeta.

Meanwhile, Yamcha was on his 7th or 8th drink and it was going straight to his head. He stumbled around the tables and came up to Chichi who was getting some food, he had never noticed how attractive she looked until now, if she hadn't met Cain he would have happily tapped her. He walked over to her and leaned on her making her confused

'Yamcha!? What are you doing?! You okay?' She asked trying to hold his weight up, he looked at her and smiled like a goof

'Chichi…..did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?! *HICCUP*...' he grinned as she looked at him funny

'I Think you have had enough to drink' she laughed

'I'm serious! You are so hot its unreal….. Goku was such a dumbass to not see it….' By this point, Vegito was overhearing the conversation and it was frustrating him

'Yamcha come on don't talk like that…' she said trying to get him to stand on his own

'You know if you hadn't met your new boyfriend I would have happily taken care of you, not just as your friend, but as your lovvvver too' he winked, annoying her in the process, she let go of him as he stood up

'Careful Yamcha, cause you are in very dangerous waters now' she warned

'Oh come on, we both know you used to have a thing for me back in the day, and you have aged like fine wine you know that? Still gorgeous and hot, can only imagine how much Fun Goku had with you under the covers, I can only picture it' this conversation was making Vegito's blood boil

'Yamcha….' She frowned

'Let me experience it a little, come on give us a kiss' he leaned in to kiss as she leaned back, she was gonna sent him a direct smack but was beaten to it When Vegito, in his super Sayien form grabbed Yamcha by his throat and lifts him off his feet as he begins to choke, everyone was panicking over the matter but no one would dare go against Vegito, he was too strong for any of them! Yamcha was trying to release himself From his grip but it was no good, he felt these were his last moments, Vegito just kept his grip firmly on his neck as Chichi called out

'FOR GOD SAKE VEGITO! STOP! PLEASE STOP!' She yelled as he looked at her, then saw how everyone was looking at him, as if he was a freak, a monster. He then realised what he was doing and dropped Yamcha to the ground who is trying to catch his breath and coughing out loud!

'What…*wheezes* Is your….*wheezes* problem asshole!?' he huffed as he got up and punched him in the face, Vegito wasn't flinched by his punch and punched him back sending him to the floor, Yamcha got up and went to hit him back but was held back by Krillen

'No don't he's not worth it!' He yelled

'Some way for sticking up for your friends Krillen!' Vegito huffed

'Look who's talking! You have barely been to see us since you came back and when you do you decide to choke the lives out the people who you call friends! What has happened to you! You're not the Goku I remember!'

'WHEN ARE YOU GONNA GET IT THROUGHT YOUR STUPID SKULLS! I AM NOT GOKU! I AM NOT VEGETA! I AM VEGITO! LET THAT BE A LESSON TO YOU ALL!' He roared as everyone backed off, he was angry and frustrated at everyone but even more on himself! He turned to look at chichi as she looked at him in fear and disappointment, she turned to Cain and ran into his arms for comfort, Cain held her in his arms as if he was protecting her and kissed her head. The scene broke Vegito's heart, if anyone should have been doing that is was him, Bulma just looked pissed off and disappointed in him, he had ruined his son's birthday and he was not gonna hear the end of it later, and he didn't want to be there. He just looked to everyone, turned off his super sayien mode and took off into the sky!

He must have flown for at least 2 hours, he just couldn't stop thinking about what he had done. He landed on a mountain peak and looked to the sky above him and saw the thunderstorms emerging, he smirked and thought this would be the best place to take out his anger, lightning began to tricked the canyon below as hr then used the opportunity to strike the rocks that were getting zapped and punching them harder and hard as the storms grew larger, his behaviour was erratic and crazy! If he didn't stop he would mostly likely get himself killed but he didn't care! He just kept training! Not stopping, how could he? If he did he'd only be thinking about them! His women! Both of them, Bulma the beautiful scientist who he did love but she wasn't enough! The Vegeta part of him knew she was enough for him but at the same time, the other part of him, he only wanted one girl! Chichi. She was all he wanted, when Goku first met her, he had no idea how much he needed her until they fell in love. He could talk to her about anything, and he hadn't been able to with anyone since his grandpa died, she reminded him what loving someone could be like, and what a different kinds of love there was. And he hated he couldn't talk to her like they used, he had all this pent up anger inside and she knew exactly how to calm him, relax him, but she wouldn't go near him, she said because it was better like this but he knew it was because she was scared, scared of being let down again. As he was thinking about while still training through the lightning strikes, one zapped in on his left shoulder and sent plummeting to the ground as he writhed in pain and anger. He pounded the ground hard in anguish and roared over the thunderstorms!

He found shelter in one of the mountain caves and removed his shirt to clean his wound on his shoulder. He writhed a little but he didn't care, he guessed her deserved it after the stunt he pulled, he needed to apologise to Trunks and hoped he was okay. He then thought about Bulma, what was she gonna say about his behaviour? She must be so pissed at him. And chichi….. well he only hoped she was thinking of him, but he knew she was with Cain, it seemed she really had moved on, this Cain guy had captured her heart and there was nothing he could do about it. She was happy with him. He hated thinking about the thought of them being together in the way he used to be with her, kissing her passionately, ripping the clothes off her body, laying her down giving her the love and attention she deserved, the very thought of Cain's hands on Chichi body made him physically sick! No one could do that to her but him! At least the Goku in him. But he wasn't Goku anymore, he could never be…. And as much as he didn't want to admit it (even to himself) he knew she was never gonna be with him. No matter how much he wanted her. He reached into his pocket and took out a photo of her. A picture of her and him when they were young newlyweds, sitting in the three and the cherry blossom petals falling, It was his favourite picture of her, she looked so enchanting, and she looked happy to be with him, so why did he go and screw it up? he realised what he had done and his consequence was loosing her.

'I'm sorry chi….I'm so….. so sorry…' He sighed and kissed the picture lightly 'I wish I could go back! I wish I could be your Goku again…' He whispered and then looked out of the cave the thunderstorms still forming above the mountain, they looked how he felt. Angry and Hurting. He closed his eyes and cold only dream about him being with her. Question was, did she want him deep down? Or was she lost for good?
