A/N: I want to apologize for the delay. I haven't been in the mood to write lately. Inspiration had been a bit blocked lately. Life happens to the best of us I guess. But I will have a little more free time during the week so hopefully finishing stories will be something that I can fit in. I realize the story is going slow. If you want, we can skip to the part with the rogue vampires. I have the following chapter finished already…. I write chapters as they come to me.
Previously~ The wizarding world all but gave up on getting Hermione's memories back. Hermione had dinner at the Cullen's. Hermione arrived late home from the Cullen's.
Sunrise Sunset
Chapter 8
Bella was anxious for the dinner with the Cullen's. Hermione kept reassuring her that everything would be fine. The two of them were ready and waiting when Alice and Rosalie came to pick them up to go shopping in Port Angeles. They went surprisingly fast for everyone except Bella who hated shopping.
Hermione and Rosalie's laughter could be heard from the sitting room, where Bella's pleas to Alice when unanswered.
"You want to look nice don't you?" Alice asked sweetly.
"Please Alice I can't take any more of this," Bella cried. She glared at the curtain, as Hermione and Rosalie busted into another set of laughs.
"Will you two knock it off," Bella said poking her head out of the fitting room.
"Yes," Alice said, "please pause your laughter and find this shirt in blue.
"As my lady commands," Hermione said taking the shirt gracefully from Alice and holding the shirt with care. Rosalie, snatched the shirt from Hermione's hands before all but disappearing into the nearest clothing rack.
Bella giggled at their antics, before Alice pushed her head back into the fitting room.
"What is it with your need to make me look like a doll," Bella asked annoyed.
"I wouldn't call it a need," Alice said, "but if you take care of yourself, then you will be treated with respect. And that's important."
"Really?" Bella asked, "So people can judge you by what you wear?"
"Potatoe, potato," Alice said.
Bella shook her head before peeling off the shirt that Alice had just handed her. Alice then handed the shirt to Hermione you put it in the keep pile.
"How did she know to put it on the keep pile?" Bella asked curiously.
"The system is that if I hand it to Hermione she puts it on the keep pile, if I hand it to Rosalie it goes on the no way pile."
"Why do I need so many clothes?" Bella whined.
"Because your wardrobe is atrocious," Hermione said matter- of-factly, "your really should stop wearing all those unflattering shirts," pointing to what she was currently wearing.
"And I suppose that you want me to just convert to this fashion that your trying to fit me into?" Bella whined, she hated shopping.
"Yes," all three of them said at the same time.
"I'm not like you guys," Bella said letting her shoulders shrug, "Fashion doesn't matter to me."
"It matters to us," Alice said chirpily, "besides, it's been a long time since I've had a reason to spend so much money, I rather enjoy it. And don't get me started on your posture."
Bella made a noise in her throat before giving in and allowing Alice to dress her up like a doll. Hermione and Rosalie shared a look and started laughing. "Are they always like this?" Bella asked amused.
"Yes," Alice said without looking at Hermione and Rosalie, she already knew what they were doing, "Although usually they are laughing when I am the one trying on clothes."
Bella smiled and shook her head before succumbing to Alice's poking and prodding.
Soon it was time to head back the Cullen's place. Once there, Bella was shown to into the house only to be greeted by everyone. Hermione said her hello's before introducing Bella to everyone and everyone to Bella.
Rosalie's snide remarks weren't making the situation any better so Hermione dragged her away so they could start putting all of Rosalie's things away. After half an hour they were interrupted by Emmet telling them it was time for dinner. "But we're not done yet," Rosalie whined. Hearing her whine was a rare occurrence for Hermione and she couldn't help but giggle at the situation in front of her.
Then out of nowhere Hermione felt a pang in her chest that felt like a sharp pin prick straight to the heart. It was sudden and sharp and lasted less than a second. She paused for a moment, hoping that her head would start hurting but it didn't. There were no sudden rushed of memory or feelings of doing something like this before. Just the short sudden sharp pain to her heart. She put her hand over her heart for a moment willing the pain to go away, and then when it was gone she dismissed it, and continued into the dining room for dinner. Though could it really be called a dinner when she and Bella were the only ones really eating? And there were so many left overs, wouldn't it all go to waste? If only there was a way to preserve it so that it wouldn't go bad. Oh wait, there was, it's called a freezer…
All in all, Bella though the night went well, she learned about everyone except Rosalie as she was busy with Hermione, she was surprised at Rosalie's anger, but she supposed she understood. Edward had informed her that she would not have told her story anyway as it was still very painful for her. Unfortunately, that just made Bella want to know more.
The days flew by and before they knew it march had gone by and spring was upon them. Hermione was very happy to be at the head of her class. Learning came easy to her that was something that would never change.
Anyone could see that Bella and Edward were in love, they were so in love that it made Hermione want to puke. Rosalie and Hermione would laugh about it, but deep down Hermione wanted a relationship like that as well.
Soon spring was upon them, and since Bella and Hermione knew about the Cullen's, the spent as much time outside as they could. Bella and Hermione were extremely surprised when they were asked to join them for a baseball came.
"Stand back," Carlisle said with a smile.
"So we don't get to play?" Hermione asked a little disappointed.
"It will be safer this way," Carlisle said motioning for the girls to stand off to the side, "trust us."
So the two of them stood off to the side with eyes wide with curiosity. As the game started, they were amazed at how fast they were playing. Bella could barely see them moving. Hermione on the other hand just watched, she wondered what it must be like to move like that.
Before anyone know it the sun started to set, and the sky turned a beautiful purple color. The baseball game was put on hold till the next time the weather was just right. The group headed back to the Cullen's for dinner. Little did they know that there were eyes in the forest that night.
A/N: I thought this was a good way to leave it for today. Thanks for reading. If you have any ideas for how I can introduce the nomadic vampires, please PM me.
