Sunrise Sunset
Chapter 24
March, after St. Marcus day.
After their return from Italy, Charlie put the house on lockdown. Bella and Hermione were both under house arrest. The only place the two could go besides home was to the bookstore, the police station, and school. In no circumstances were they to see the Cullen's or at least the children.
Hermione's checkups had been suspended for further notice. Charlie was furious with Dr. Cullen and refused to allow the doctor to see her unless she expressly expressed a need. Her relationship with the Cullen's was only slightly off-kilter. Rosalie and she had gotten right back into the swing of things, well except for the whole house arrest ordeal. Carlisle had apologized for the way they left, and she accepted the apology, but things were a bit rocky. Hermione was not really all that upset with them anymore.
…
After two weeks of being on house arrest, they were finally free. Charlie consented to Jacob taking Hermione out for a hike. They went to what Hermione liked to call the magical meadow. They were sitting on the fallen log, wrapped in each other's arms.
"You know I love you," Jacob said wrapping his arm around Hermione's waist.
"How'd you come to that conclusion?" Hermione asked teasingly.
"I just know," Jacob said teasing back referring to his imprinting on her.
"When did you know for certain?" Hermione asked leaning into his shoulder, her left hand was playing with the hair on the back of his neck.
"When you ran off searching for that imaginary dog," he said happily, "when did you know you loved me?"
"When we danced in your garage," Hermione said with a bright happy smile.
Suddenly they went from cuddling each other to him pressed her back into a tree. She was shocked when Jacob's lips attacked her own, causing what she thought was a growl to escape his lips.
After a moment or two, she gave in to his kiss and returned it with vigor and passion. Her hands found their way into his hair, her legs wrapped around his waist.
They came apart to take a breath, it was not long before Jacob found the crook of her exposed neck. He growled again when she arched her back, pushing her breasts into his chest. She moaned when his lips contacted her bare skin.
Hermione wrapped her arms around him, one hand gripping his shoulder, the other finding its way into his hair, well what little hair he had. Her legs tightened around him, and she moved her hips trying to push herself closer to him.
Jacob felt his legs give when he felt her pull him closer. Together they slid to the ground, losing his balance they fell backward, and she landed on top of him. Jacob looked up at the girl that sat on top of him. Her hair was a mess, her face rosy, her lips swollen, her hands bunched his shirt as it sat on his stomach.
Without a second thought he gathered her into his arms and flipped them over, so he was on top. She groaned as his lips assaulted hers again. Hermione was incoherent as Jacob licked and sucked at her neck, "We should stop," Jacob said, pulling away from her.
Hermione closed her eyes and moaned when she felt his hands on her torso, gliding slowly and effortlessly over her. Even with her shirt on, she could feel the heat of his skin.
"Jacob," she said breathlessly, Jacob swore it sounded almost like a whimper. Begging him to continue.
"We shouldn't do this here," Jacob said slowly pulling his hands away.
"Your right," Hermione said reluctantly, "but that doesn't make me want you any less."
Jacob helped her up so that she was sitting, and he moved so that he could pull her into his lap. "Your amazing."
"So are you," she said cuddling into him. She laid her head on his shoulder, and she pulled his arm and wrapped it around her waist. "let's just stay here for a while."
"Okay," he said resting his head against hers
After a few moments of silence, Hermione whispered the words that he had longed to hear for so very long. "I love you too, Jacob," she said into his ear.
Jacob growled into her ear, before saying, "I know."
Hermione giggled, which promptly started another kissing match. Luckily, they had time before they had to be back.
…
"So, when are you going to ask that girl to marry you?" Billy asked Jacob after he walked into the house with a giant smile on his face.
"Soon," Jacob said shrugging his shoulders, "I want to finish school, and find a home for us to live in before I do that. There's no rush is there?"
Billy chuckled, "No son," Billy said slapping his son on the shoulder, "you have a good head on your shoulders."
"Thanks," Jacob said smiling before turning his attention to the game.
…
Charlie was not as mad as he was when he found out that Bella and Hermione had run away with Alice to Italy. All they had left was a note. He held his head in his hands, he wondered what they would get into next.
He was reluctant to allow the Cullen boy into the house, he was nothing but trouble. His presence made his daughter happy. Hermione gave them a tender smile when she saw them sitting together on the couch. He was playing with her hair, and she was playing with his hand. She thought about her make-out session with Jacob and wish desperately for more. She bid them farewell, as she ran up the stairs to her room, with the house wireless phone in her hand.
Charlie chuckled; he knew she was going to call Jacob. he glanced back at Bella and Edward. "I suppose I need to start planning two weddings now." He said to no one in particular, before standing and walking into the kitchen.
…
March turned into April, and Bella was still not allowed to spend too much time in the presence of the Cullen's. This did not stop her from seeing Edward though. He still spent most of their nights in her room. They would talk, and cuddle, and make out. The normal teenage experience. Sometimes they would argue.
Edward wanted to get married before turning Bella. Bella on the other hand was not too keen on the idea of marriage. After 2 weeks, they decided that they would talk about it again in a week. The subject was dropped.
Bella asked Hermione what she should do? Did they have to get married so young? Did they have to do it now?
Hermione shrugged her shoulders, "you're turning into a vampire after you graduate because you don't want to be older than Edward."
"Yes," Bella said shrugging her shoulders.
"Then why can't you marry him?" Hemione asked cautiously, "he's your mate, your true love, your life song. What is the problem?"
"But what if I suck at it?" Bella asked concerned.
"Relationships take a lot of work. do you think that Rosalie and Emmet have a perfect marriage? I'm sure they argue sometimes, especially when Emmet is being stupid." Hermione said with a laugh.
"That's true," Bella said nodding her head.
"What are you going to do?" Hermione asked her curiously.
"Tell him yes," Bella said with a grin.
Hermione scooped her up into a hug, and the two started jumping around.
Bella's fears were not cured a hundred percent, but her cousin did provide a lot of logic. She decided that the next time he asked, she would say yes.
…
Beginning of April, the chase is on.
The night was dim, the ambiance of the forest was loud, and the moon was full. The light shone down through the trees lighting the way. Red eyes looked down at the path, as she moved through the trees with ease. A wood owl hooted in her ear as she stopped to gauge her pursuers. Laurent had not done the job she had asked him to. No matter, she would make him pay later.
She gazed down, one, two, three, four… nine, she counted silently. Where is the tenth? She said in her mind, she could not see them. Decidedly she leaped for the tree on the other side of the clearing. Her feet touched down midway, and she bolted. The wolves were on her heels now, she swung her fist around hitting one in the jaw. She grinned as she felt a sickening crunch under her hand as she continued running. She could stop and gloat later; she had to get to the river.
She leaped into the air and clung to the tree as a couple of branches crumbled from the weight of her stone-like body. She hissed as she nearly lost her balance. She glanced at the wolves again, they had the area surrounded. If she tried to make another mad dash, she would be wolf chow. Looking towards the river, she saw the Cullen's awaiting her.
She was at a crossroads, unsure what to do, she climbed up. The wolves howled in anger and followed her along the riverbank as she leaped from treetop to treetop. She jumped down on the Cullen side, before bounding back over to the wolves. This caused a few of the wolves and the human lovers to collide. She grinned as they began to fight, and she took her chance to get away into the forest.
The big bulky vampire and one of the wolves were still hot on her trail. She scoffed; she could handle the two of them no problem. However, she decided not to press her luck and booked it out of their territory and back towards Seattle. She had an army to build, and no one to stop her. She tipped her head back and laughed, fools, she thought. Do not worry my love, she said to herself, once I have avenged you, I will see you once more. She continued; she did not have much time until the Voltari came to intervene on their behalf. She would take Cullen's mate if it were the last thing she did.
…
Edward asks for permission to marry Bella.
Charlie Swan was baffled, here was a boy that he thought he had gotten rid of asking for his blessing to marry his daughter. "You are serious, aren't you?"
"Yes sir," Edward said nodding his head.
"You broke her heart, you left her, and now you're asking me for permission to marry her?" Charlie said in an aggravated voice.
"Yes sir," Edward said trying to hold his composure.
"I need an explanation for your actions before I can give you an answer," Charlie said expectantly.
"When we left, I thought that it would be better for me to end it. I did not want to hurt her, but it was the best thing. I am no good for her, but she makes life better. Being near her, it keeps me sane. There was a misunderstanding, I thought that she died, and it killed me. I cannot live without her; she is my reason for living. She is air, she is gravity, without her there is no life."
Charlie was in awe; they were good answers, but he still could not just give in. "I have to think about it," Charlie said slowly, "How will you support her? Where will you live? What about college?"
"I have money from my birth parents, but I plan to go to college. I am going to follow in Carlisle's footsteps and study medicine as well as music. As for where we will live, I plan to build her a cottage on the Cullen property. If we go to New York, my family left me a house, I can use it any time we are in the area. As for college, she can apply to anywhere she wants, she can do anything she wants."
"Yes," Charlie said, discreetly wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Pardon?" Edward asked startled.
"Yes, I give you permission to marry Bella, if she'll have you," Charlie said standing up, he held his hand out. Realizing what was happening Edward gingerly grabbed Charlie's hand and they both could not help but grin "welcome to the family."
"Thank you, sir, you won't regret this," Edward said.
A/N: I must figure out where to go next. I hope you enjoyed a little happy filler and some Victoria chasing. I am sorry it took me so long to update, I have no excuse. Life got away from me, so here we are. I will try to have a chapter ready for next weekend but do not hold me too it. Enjoy!
