Sunrise Sunset
Chapter 27
Beginning of April
After Bella agreed to marry Edward, the couple had a lot of planning to do. Bella at the insistence of her school counselor, Carlisle, and her father she decided to apply to a few universities. Why should getting married get in the way of her dreams, or something like that?
Hermione and Bella are sitting in Hermione's room on the bed, having a nice girl chat before bed.
"I don't see why it is so important that I continue my education," Bella groaned, "but I applied to a couple of places. The one I really want to go to is in Alaska."
"That's good," Hermione said as she thought about her own future.
"I just wish that we could remain here after I'm changed," Bella confessed to her cousin.
"You know why though," Hermione said in a comforting manner.
"It would violate the treaty," Bella said sadly, "I wish that there was a way they could forgive it."
"Me as well," Hermione said sadly, "but I will never abandon you. I'm sure everything will work out."
Changing the subject, Bella saw that there were letters in strange paper on her nightstand, "where are those from?"
"I have been talking with a friend from England," she confessed.
"Have you started to remember?" Bella asked, scooting closer.
"I haven't had any visions since the last one," Hermione said with a shrug of her shoulders. 'I feel like I'm missing something, and the thoughts are just out of my reach. If only I couldn't remember what I seem to have forgotten. I thought of inviting Luna for a visit, but I don't want to get everyone's hopes up."
"Are you having dreams?" Bella asked curiously.
"I keep dreaming about an orange cat," Hermione said, a far look in her eyes, "I follow him around in an old castle, but I have yet to reach where it seems the cat is leading me to."
"Do you know any orange cats?" Bella asked, trying to help her dig a little deeper.
"I don't know," Hermione shrugged her shoulders.
Bella sighed; she was hoping that Hermione would have started to remember by now. Aro, had suggested with his words that he knew something about Hermione or who she was. It would seem Bella had another mystery to unravel, she laughed to herself.
"Have you told your mother yet about Edward?" Hermione asked to change the subject.
"I've talked to her on the phone, but I didn't tell her I was just getting married. I told her that I was in a long-term relationship and that we are serious. She says I should wait a bit and be sure of things before we get too serious." Bella said with a sad look, "I don't know what to think. However, I know that Edward is my future, and with everything set in motion it would be foolish to back out now."
"I know your life is in danger, but I also know Edward wants to do what's right by you," Hermione said trying to cheer her up. "Did he ever explain to you why he left?"
Bella laughed hollowly, "he did," Bella said looking down at his hands, "we talked about it after we were finally out from under house arrest."
"You don't have to tell me," Hermione said with a smile, "that's something that should stay between the two of you."
"Thank you for understanding," Bella said with a smile.
"No need to thank me," Hermione said kindly, "we both have our secrets. "
…
Victoria hadn't been spotted in over a month with the tribe and Cullen's worried about what she might be planning. More and more of the boys on the reservation where still phasing. It wasn't until May, when Bella picked up the paper, that she had started to worry. People were going missing in Seattle.
Jacob still didn't want Hermione to wander alone, even to the meadow. So, he would accompany her, he would give her some distance to meditate, but he was worried. After she finished, enough time had passed. he would come and sit with her, sometimes as a human, sometimes as a wolf. Then Edward and Bella would come and join them. It was a peaceful, magical time, the vision that Alice had first seen of Bella and Hermione in the meadow with Edward and Jacob standing watch. It was a perfect moment.
Hermione had been resting against Jacob when she saw it, she sat up and turned towards the woods. The air rippled with static before everything started to turn fuzzy, like she was looking at a tv screen. The air rippled again when two shapes emerged from the woods. There was an orange cat standing next to the black dog.
She stood up quickly, paused, just waiting for something to happen. The figures in front of her started to flash in and out of existence. She reached out to ask them to wait, when suddenly the scenery changed. She was standing in a clearing now, there was an old, crooked house on top of the hill. It was an eerie night as the day darkened into twilight.
There was a shout from behind her, and she turned in a flash to see three figures rushing past her, a orange cat, the black dog dragging a boy behind him. she raced to follow when the scene suddenly changed a second time.
"Harry?" she asked, surprised to see the boy from the hospital. As she looked at the others, she saw herself. Gasping in shock she turned her head to look around, again she saw the dog turn into a man then surprisingly she saw the rat also turn into a man.
She stumbled backwards then the scene changed again. She was standing next to a lake when she saw the glowing stag walk past. As she moved to follow, a hand on her shoulder stopped her. As she turned to see who put their hand on her shoulder, her memory froze, before blinking out of existence. As suddenly as it started it was over and only Jacob was left standing with her.
"Are you alright Hermione?" Jacob asked behind her.
"Either I am going insane," she said quietly, "or my memories are returning. And they are beyond believable."
As Hermione explained what she had seen, Bella's face brightened, yet she tried to contain it. Hermione's memories had to return on their own and she suddenly wondered where Hermione's wand was. Perhaps if she had it, her memories would come quicker.
"As weird as your visions seem to be," Jacob said, rubbing his hand up and down the middle of her back, as if to sooth her, "it seems you are starting to remember some things. I bet one day soon you will wake up and remember everything."
"I don't think it will happen any time soon," Hermione said, shrugging her shoulders, "and even if I do remember, this is where I belong. Who knows, if I hadn't lost my memory, would we have even met, do you think?" She asked, looking up at Jacob.
"Of course, we would have met, were destined to spend the rest of our lives together," Jacob said, pulling her into a big hug, "Bella would have invited you to the wedding. you know what would happen don't you, I would have locked eyes with you, i would have fallen instantly, and then i would be trying to convince you to stay."
"I love you Jacob," Hermione said, leaning into giving him a heated kiss.
"I love you Hermione," Jacob said before kissing her deeply.
After a few more moments of being intimate, they returned to where Edward and Bella had been trying not to watch their intimate moments. They gathered their things and headed to take the girls home.
"I plan to write to Luna," Hermione said, rubbing her forehead as they walked through the woods, "I thought I might invite her to come for a visit."
"That would be wonderful," Bella said with a large smile.
Jacob and Edward agreed that Hermione should invite her friend for a visit. They were probably worried sick over her not being there and not being able to remember.
Hermione returned home that evening, and after saying hello to Charlie, she headed up to her room. She sat down at her desk, pulling out paper and an envelope.
Dear Luna,
I have experienced only what I can expect is a memory from my past. It wasn't just figures like before, the whole scenery changed, I saw the black dog, an orange cat. I watched as what I think is a rat, as it turned into a human. I saw myself.
I would like the opportunity to talk to you more on the subject do you think you might like to come for a visit. I can introduce you to my family, Bella's fiancé, my other half Jacob, and the tribe. I also want to share the magical meadow with you, I feel it would suit you well and all the creatures you tell me about.
Sincerely,
Hermione
Hermione's head continued to hurt, as she took some Tylenol and laid down on her bed. She was hopeful that when she woke her head would hurt less.
…
After the meadow, Bella and Edward to Edwards house. Bella decides it's time to talk to Carlisle.
"Carlisle," Bella said, entering Carlisle's office with Edward close behind her.
"What can I do for you Bella?" Carlisle asked curiously.
"I know that you know about Hermione's disposition and what it is exactly she is forgetting," Bella said as she plopped down in a chair. "I need someone to talk to about it. I have a few ideas that could maybe help her."
"I'm listening," Carlisle said, pulling out a note pad that he had his own thoughts written down on.
"Well, I'm sure you are aware already that Hermione is magical," Bella said leaning forward, "Charlie and I both know about it. I'm sure that he has had talks with one or two of her friends from her world. It's a pity she can't remember them."
"Yes, I have had chats with one of Hermione's old friends, he is also one of my old friends, he is their minister for magic, their president as it were."
"I think it would help her remember, if a few of the people she keeps seeing in her visions to come and visit. I'm not sure who it is she is seeing exactly though."
"I know what you are trying to do Bella," Carlisle said, rubbing her chin, "however I think that Hermione will have to seek the answers out for herself. I fully believe that she will remember before long."
"I just want to help her," Bella said sadly, "I think if she had access to her books or her wand she might remember."
"That I may be able to help you with," Carlisle said with a large smile, "I am just about to send a letter to Kingsley, he is an important person in Hermione's world. I will write and tell him of Hermione's invitation to her friend, perhaps he can pull some strings."
"Thanks," Bella beamed at him before she up and hopped out of the chair before running off.
After talking to Carlisle, Edward took Bella home. When Bella went inside, she was surprised to learn that Hermione was already in bed.
Bella went to her room soon after she arrived home. she opened the window for Edward. They laid on the bed curled together talking about nothing, Edward played with her hair until she drifted off. After which he left to go hunting.
A/N: We have made it to the part of the story that you are excited for. And I have some plans and tricks up my sleeve.
