As soon as Abigail Winters mentioned the final exam, it was like the walls of a dam burst. Memories of that day washed over them, allowing them to piece together what had happened. Uravity and Creati eyed each other while Pinky held her head with both hands, groaning as the memories came rushing in. "This hurts..." She whined.

Abigail nodded. She reached into the pocket of her lab coat and pulled out a bottle of pills. "Tylenol? I don't have chocolate milk, unfortunately..." She said.

"Which is a crime on its own," Mei quipped.

As Pinky downed a pill, Uravity looked at the screen. "Why...it feels like I forgot about that day..." She said.

"Me too. That day felt like a blur, or something," Creati mused. "I don't understand...how could we forget?"

Mei shrugged. "I don't dabble in time," she said. "Ask the old Mecha-Menace over here."

Abigail turned to her pink-haired friend and smacked her arm. "Rude..."

Mei shrugged. "Hey, you almost killed me, remember?"

"I should've tried harder..."

"ANYWAY!" Uravity called out. "Why are we barely remembering this now?"

Creati eyes Abigail with a raised brow. "Time travel?"

"That's the leading theory unless there is more that we can remember. My only issue is that we remembered next to nothing of that exam or the time around that. All I remembered before all of this was being rehabilitated and going through my first year without any hiccups. Then came Tokyo..."

"And the rest is history, I know. But...maybe..."

Pinky was rubbing her temples when she eyed her friend. "Maybe what?"

Abigail started. "So...all we know about time travel comes from those pre-Quirk days. Movies and tv shows had so many different takes on the subject, hell, even books. Of all the various instances of time travel, there are only three theories," she said.

"The first is 'Fixed Theory,'" Creati said. "Essentially, you can go back and time and change whatever you want, but when you get back, history remains the same. Kill a dictator, but another will reappear to take their place, and history doesn't appear to have changed one bit."

"The second is Dynamic, or the 'Paradox Theory" in my book," Abigail continued. "You can go back in time and change something, but it'll have serious consequences in the future. Step on a butterfly in the distant past, and you can rewrite history. Kill a relative, and you'll never be born, but that means you don't kill a relative, so..."

"Head hurts!" Pinky called out.

Abigail smiled. "Right...anyway, these events are very...fragile. If Midoriya changes the past in any way, it could change us the second he comes back," she said.

"...And the third?" Uravity asked.

Abigail sighed. She turned to Mei, who was busy rubbing her butt. "Now it's starting to hurt..."

The healing hero shook her head and rolled her eyes. "The third is Multiverse..." Creati said.

Pinky looked at Uravity. "Didn't you guys say you saw multiple universes when you were coming back from Paris?" She asked.

Uravity nodded. "So, every action we make creates a universe where something else happens?"

Creati nodded. "Imagine a time traveler goes back in time and drops a nuke on Nazi Germany in 1945. Or even earlier. Our timeline wouldn't be affected, but another one can be created. Or what would happen if Midoriya didn't beat All for One. Again, our timeline is safe, but there'll be one where he lost, and most of us died," she said.

"Well, there's an image I've always wanted," Uravity said. "My fiance dying in another universe."

Abigail nodded. "This situation could be any of these. Midoriya could be stuck there with no way back, or if he does come back, our reality might change for the better...or worse."

"I hope I can make an appeal to the universe so I can stay engaged to him, even if he changes things," Uravity said.

Abigail smiled and nudged Mei to turn around. "I'll heal her, but we can keep talking," she said.

"You just wanted to touch my butt again, didn't you?" Mei teased.

"Don't make me punch your broken butt bone," Abigail retorted. She placed her hands on her lower back and activated her Quirk. "To answer your question about why we just remember this now: I believe I have a theory."

"So...if this is a Dynamic situation, it could be possible that time tried to fix itself by removing these memories, causing a serious gap in our recollection. This could be because something happened that mixed our two timelines, and time is fixing the merge by making us forget."

"So the damage is being unraveled? How?"

Abigail shrugged. "As our memories heal, we should know more about what happened and how we can fix this. It has to be natural, though; we can't force our memories to return to us; otherwise, we might hurt ourselves."

As Abigail focused on healing Mei, the three heroes started brainstorming. "So...we can't use the Janus Stone?" Pinky asked. "How come?"

"It's an inter-dimensional magical artifact. Technically, we could use it to travel around the world, but we wouldn't have any idea where or when we would end up. We could probably use it if he's in an alternate universe, but we remember him being there in the past. We could be looking at a Dynamic situation," Uravity said.

Creati nodded in agreement. "Without the Janus Stone, I don't see any way we can travel back in time. And there is a very slim chance that there is a person in the world with a time-traveling ability," she theorized.

"So...what'll we do?" Pinky asked.

"Well...we have to hold down the fort until we have a decent plan. The world knows that Deku has gone dark, and letting it slip that he time-jumped would only cause panic," Uravity said.

Creati nodded. "We'll focus on the Chaos King's empire then. Without the big boss supervising everything, his lieutenants would surely be running around like chickens without heads," she said. "Once we crack his security and dig up names and locations, he'll be in for a rude welcome home."

Pinky smiled. "If you guys don't mind, I want to help. Eijiro and I are still overseeing the outreach program, but don't hesitate in calling us in," she said.

"Then I'll let Bakugo know what's going on. Let's start rallying the heroes together to start taking down the Discorders as we unearth their operations," Uravity said.

"We'll work on figuring out time travel on our end," Abigail said as the gold mist that was her Quirk faded. She smacked Mei's butt, causing the tinkering young woman to turn on her heel and say something, only for the healing hero to jam a lollipop into her mouth. "Right, Hatsume?"

The pink-haired tinkerer nodded as she enjoyed her candy. "Let us have the Janus Stone then. If we wanna crack this shell, we need all the help we can get," she said.

"I'll bring it later tonight," Uravity said.

When all was said and done, the meeting was adjourned. Abigail gave Creati the tech she needed to crack the hard drives back at the office. They all left the lab and eventually returned to the agency.

Back in the past...

The beach party of 2-A went off without a hitch, and when night fell, and curfew neared, the young heroes returned to their dorm. Instead of sticking to their standard routine of training or doing other productive things, the young heroes decided that Sunday was a great day to unwind and prepare for the upcoming summer vacation. Even Izuku Midoriya elected to take the day off, citing that the beach and his marathon swimming and challenging the waves was great training.

When Sunday morning came around, the dorm house was quiet. The windows were wide open, letting the rising sun illuminate the building's common space. A few people would come through to make tea or grab a bite to eat from the kitchen, but no one stuck around.

Except for the resident Symbol of Peace.

Deku descended from the stairs and waved at Yaoyorozu and Uraraka as they set their teacups in the sink. He had a brown leather duffle bag in hand and a small pouch hanging off his side. As the girls ascended the stairs, Deku set his bag down on a coffee table between two couches. He walked over to the kitchen and prepared a cup of coffee.

Drink in hand, Deku returned to the couches and sat with his back facing the stairs. Taking his first sip, the Symbol of Peace opened the duffle bag and reached inside, grabbing his metal gauntlet. He set the gauntlet down and unstrapped the pouch he wore. He opened the pouch and unveiled a burlap wrap inside. He set it on the table and unwrapped it, revealing a set of tools.

With everything set up, Deku began his work. He grabbed a long metal pick and twirled it in his fingers as he turned the gauntlet around, so the palm was facing up. He inserted the pick into a small circular slot on the wrist and twisted it clockwise. As he twisted the pick, the gauntlet started to open up from down the middle. Once the gauntlet was fully open, a single beep echoed through the room.

Deku grabbed another tool from his bag with the gauntlet open and inserted it in the same slot as the pick. Once it was in, he pulled them in opposite directions and let go of the tools. The gauntlet stayed open, allowing him to get to work.

As he worked, he didn't realize that the loud beep grabbed the attention of some of the young heroes. Hidden in the stairwell behind him were Yaoyorozu, Mina Ashido, and Hagakure. The invisible girl and the acid-wielding hero were both heading down for some breakfast with Yaoyorozu behind them to make sure they keep the kitchen clean. When they heard the beep, they froze in their tracks.

The three peered around the corner to see Deku's new haircut sitting on the couch with his back turned to them. They heard a spark come from the couch, followed by an 'ow' from the Symbol of Peace. "What's he doing?" Mina asked.

Yaoyorozu shrugged. "We shouldn't be spying on him, though. Let's go over there and ask him," she said.

"Nahhh, besides, we get to see a future Midoriya work in his element without anyone bothering him. Haven't you ever wondered what he does in his off time?" Hagakure asked.

"Sometimes, but this isn't the same Midoriya..." Yaoyorozu said.

"Sometimes, my invisible butt."

Mina snickered as they watched him work. "Ya know, he did come back late last night," she mentioned. "I heard the door squeak as I was coming out of the shower."

"Did you see him?" Yaoyorozu asked.

Mina nodded. "He didn't see me, but it looked like his gauntlets had blood on them," she said.

Hagakure put an invisible hand to her stomach. "I hope it wasn't his own..."

The others nodded as Deku continued to work. He reached into his bag, pulled out a glasses case, and opened it, putting on a thin pair of eyeglasses. He then grabbed a pair of tweezers and reached into his equipment, pulling out a damaged metal frame from the index finger. He grabbed a holo-disk he had next to his gauntlet and raised it to his lips. "Full Shield v.4 repair session #15. Too many punches damaged the index's inner shell. It doesn't need a serious replacement, though..."

He set the small piece of metal aside and continued working. "Transformation module received heavy damage. Most of the components I can buy at a hardware store. Plates D15 through 29 are shattered, the inner frame has fractures throughout the structure..." He started picking out most of the pieces as he called them out, expecting no response from the girls behind him.

As the three young heroes listened in, Uraraka silently stepped behind them and peered over Yaoyorozu's shoulders. She saw Deku working and focused on what he was saying. She narrowed her eyes at him. "He's fixing his own gear?" She whispered.

Mina nodded. "I barely see Bakugo do that," she admitted.

"...a serious replacement. I'll need to phone in an order for a replacement soon," Deku continued. He had set a small leather towel on the table for the broken pieces, and the amount kept on growing. He took periodic sips from his coffee as he worked.

Finally, he sat back. He wiped the sweat from his brow and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Those Nomu did more damage to this thing than I thought," he said. "Underarm blade jammed during the battle too. Cleaving the head off of one of those monsters would've been so worth it."

Mina's eyes widened. "A Nomu? He fought one of those things..." She whisper-exclaimed.

Behind her, Yaoyorozu was on her phone, scrolling through social media feeds. "He fought...oh damn. He fought a lot," she said as she showed the girls.

The headline was a picture of Deku, moving too fast for the photographer. It was a picture of a green blur charging at a group of High-End Nomu. The headline read: NEW HERO STOPS NOMU ATTACK.

As Mina scrolled through the article, Deku continued his work. "Comms unit looks damaged. The antenna looks singed, so it looks like I need a replacement soon. The motherboard inside doesn't look stable. I should replace that as well before finishing repairs," he said.

He moved to the thumb and opening it by hand. "Microphone still looks intact, which is a shock. Middle and lower joints are locked, though." He said.

He grabbed the tools in the wrist slot and unlocked them. He slowly turned them back, closing the gauntlet as carefully as he could. "Replacement parts are already listed. The main communication hub is likely...it's broken."

With the gauntlet turned over, he got a look at the forearm. The armor there resembled glass, and it was shattered. Lights flickered underneath, barely showing a homepage with 'Uravity,' 'Creati,' and 'The Loud One' on it. He tapped on the screen, but it didn't register his action.

Deku groaned. "Communication hub is fried. The repairs will be extensive, so I'll have to wait until I return to the future. Melissa does this sort of thing better than I can," he admitted.

The comment caused Uraraka's brow to twitch. "Melissa? He still talks to her in the future?" She wondered.

"Makes sense, since that could be her invention. He probably has to keep in contact with her," Yaoyorozu said.

Mina nodded. She, and the others, jumped when Deku suddenly rose to his feet. He set the holo-disc down and gulped the rest of his coffee like a tequila shot. He left to put the mug away, and the girls ducked away when he came back. He reached into his bag and pulled out his wallet, and left his glasses on top of it. He approached the front door, and in the blink of an eye, he was gone.

Once he disappeared, the girls emerged from their hiding place. "W-Where did he go?" Hagakure wondered.

"Since when can he teleport?" Mina asked.

Uraraka shook her head. "Guys, he isn't teleporting; he's moving so fast that it looks like he is," she said.

"And you know this because..." Mina questioned her.

"I've gotten piggyback rides from my boyfriend, Mina. Trust me; it looks weirder in his perspective than ours," she said.

"Uh-huh..."

Hagakure walked over to Deku's workspace. She saw the gauntlet and the holodisk on the table. "Why not just take everything?" She wondered as she picked up the disc.

Yaoyorozu saw her invisible friend pick up the holo-disc, and her eyes widened. "Toru, wait! That's Deku's private holo-disc! We don't know what's on it!" She called out.

Hagakure pressed the center button, and a holographic video popped up. The video had Melissa Shield, a young blonde woman with glasses, and Mei Hatsume, their resident mad scientist. The two were in matching lab coats, and Mei was wearing her signature goggles on her head. "Hey, Midoriya!" Mei called out.

"Deku! I hope you got this without any issues!" Melissa said.

The girls eyed each other as the video played. "So this is the Full Gauntlet v.4, and I promise you that this is the last one," Melissa said. "This will be stronger, sleeker, and more advanced than any of the other units!"

"This baby is jam-packed with new tools! The claws are sharper, and the scanner in each finger is more fine-tuned to detect traces of the Instant-Nomu serum. The forearm armor is stronger than v.3, but don't go smashing the new comm hub for shits and giggles," Melissa said.

An image of the gauntlet appeared, replacing the two tinkerers. "The Full Shield v.4 is the newest stage in protective Support gear. The armored gauntlets can take more of your power without breaking down. They're sleek, maneuverable, and light. It'll feel like you're wearing nothing," Melissa explained.

"The disguise feature is still there, so you can be wearing two wristbands at all times and armor up if Deku needs to be called in for heroics. You can still use the microphone in your suit to activate the whole thing, or you can manually twist the bands counter-clockwise to activate them individually. Twist them clockwise to deactivate them," Mei said.

The image showed the point under the wrist where he would be twisting it. There was a button in both gauntlet form and wristband form, showing that he had to press it before moving in either direction. Yaoyorozu was watching with expressed interest while Mina and Uraraka were checking out the gauntlet Deku left behind.

"The gauntlet has several OS updates lined up for the future, so don't break it too much until then," Melissa said.

"And now the boots!" Mei expressed loudly. As she said this, the image of the gauntlets was replaced with the boots. "The Seismic Step boots received the strongest upgrades for footwear yet! Stronger shin armor, so your Shoot Style attacks hit harder than before. We replaced the padding on the inside, so you'll be more comfortable in them when wearing them long-term."

"The Shock-Absorption material at the bottom of the boots was upgraded, absorbing 23% more impact noise than the previous models. You'll be sneaker than Wolfram all those years ago!" Melissa exclaimed. "Dad says hi, by the way."

"The disguise feature is still the same, but don't go playing with it all willy-nilly," Mei said.

The image faded, bringing back the two tinkerers. "We hope you'll enjoy this upgrade! We also set a repair kit so you can tinker with it at home. Mei and I have a Support Convention to go to in the summer, so if it breaks, we're counting on you to fix it yourself."

"So until we see you again: best of luck! De-throne that Chaos King asshole for what he did to Eri!" Mei demanded.

The video stopped with Mei's fist in the air and Melissa wearing a determined look on her face. "Eri...? What happened to Eri?" Yaoyorozu wondered.

"I almost don't want to know..." Uraraka said.

Hagakure raised an invisible hand at the video. She swiped away, moving the video away and replacing it with an image of Deku. He was in his hero uniform, standing in front of a gray wall. His hair was a little bit longer than now, and he had bandages on his face. "Day 1: the mission begins tonight. The Prime Minister gave me special permission to liberate Crisis Island, but we're running into this dangerously. The Chaos King is close to declaring the island a separate nation, and if he does that, Japan is violating sovereign borders. I'll need to be careful."

The girls eyed each other as the holo-Deku continued. "I'll be flying under the radar at 2230 tonight. I'm aiming for the capital city, though I'm willing to bet that he'll have anti-air defenses protecting the place."

The video glitched out on them. "Damn..." Hagakure mused. "Deku was in the military?"

Yaoyorozu shook her head. "It could be a hero-based mission...but the Prime Minister authorized it? Why not the Hero Public Safety Commission?"

Mina shrugged. The next video played automatically, showing Deku with soaked hair and wearing rags instead of his hero costume. Day 10: I'm on the island. My plane was shot down, but I managed to land on the island thanks to Float and some careful maneuvering. Villains are all over the place, so I need to stay low for now. All other journal entries will be on paper for now. I can't risk-"

The video cut off completely, leaving the girls to wonder what happened. "Aw, c'mon! I wanted more!"

"A lot of villains? Did they take over the island?" Yaoyorozu wondered.

"I want to find out!" Mina exclaimed as she started to swipe at the video, scrolling through other videos and pictures, though none of them were close to what she wanted.

"MINA! You should leave his stuff alone!" Yaoyoruzu exclaimed. "This is his private journal!"

"BUT IT HAS FUTURE STUFF ON IT!" She kept swiping. "He doesn't say anything about the future to us, and it's getting kinda annoying!"

"Still! We should be respecting his privacy!"

The Class Rep reached over to grab the holo-disc, but the acid-throwing hero yanked herself out of her range. Uraraka jumped into the fray to stop Mina, but she bumped into Hagakure and knocked her down.

In her fall, the invisible girl knocked the disc out of Mina's hands as it landed on the table. The last image that the acid-user swiped flickered out and brought up a new image.

The image froze the girls as they saw it appear. It was a newspaper headline with an image of what looked like a battlefield. It was a large area with barely any building standing. Far in the background was an intact metropolis skyline. You could hear a pin drop in the room by how quiet it was.

Hagakure carefully picked up the disc to show everyone. The picture was shocking enough, but the headline above it froze everyone's blood. It read: SEIGE OF TOKYO ENDS, HUNDREDS DEAD.

"H-Hundreds?" Mina stuttered.

Yaoyorozu shook her head. Her hand went to her mouth, covering it as she stared at the date on the article was just as shocking, reading as 8, April 2XXX.

"I-It's in two years..." She muttered.

Mina, out of instinct, started to scroll down. She started to read the article.

The smoke has cleared around the Tokyo Financial District, and the victors have risen. The Paranormal Liberation Front's reign of terror over the past few weeks has come to an end, and now the cleanup begins. Heroes and civilians have begun a joint effort to rebuild the city and round up the escaped criminals responsible for the carnage.

The battle was not won without casualties, however. Among the dead is the renowned Symbol of Evil: All for One. Also included the head of the Paranormal Liberation Front: Tomura Shigaraki, and the fo-

Before they could finish reading the article, a hand reached out and snatched the disc from Hagakure's invisible hand. The girls all jumped and watched as Deku held the disc close to his chest. Mina's eyes widened as she realized how the situation looked. "D-Deku!"

The girls didn't say anything. Deku kept his eyes on them for a few minutes before sighing and slipping his holo-disc into his bag. In his other hand, he held a small bag of replacement parts for his gauntlet. The girls all scooted away as he sat back down and got back to work.

For a few minutes, he worked in silence. Deku grabbed his glasses and put them back on as he re-opened his gauntlet. As he started to replace the parts, the girls said nothing and only watched him work.

After a few minutes, he sighed once more. "Going through someone's private journal isn't very heroic of you guys, isn't that right?" He asked without making eye contact with them.

The faces of all the girls burned bright red. "W-We're sorry...I'm sorry," Mina said. "I couldn't help it..."

"We couldn't help it," Yaoyorozu said. "B-But I have to wonder-"

"I'm not talking about Tokyo, Yaoyorozu," Deku interrupted her.

"B-But it's in two years...we have to be ready."

The Symbol of Peace looked at her. "Tokyo isn't a concern right now. You all still have a summer vacation to enjoy and another term to get ready for. Right now, I have to make sure that this damn thing doesn't crush my arm when I put it back on. If that happens, I won't be happy," he said as he slipped his glasses off.

Hagakure raised a hand. "Question: why are you wearing glasses?" She wondered.

"I made them," Yaoyorozu said.

"And you can blame Katsuki for that...in about 5 years," Deku said, flashing a small smile.

Mina rolled her eyes. "I'm honestly not surprised..."

Deku laughed and turned back to his work. "Tell you what: if you guys help out a little bit, I'll consider you all forgiven for snooping, and...maybe I'll tell you all a story after dinner tonight," he said.

"A-A story? Like..."

"Not Tokyo, but I will tell a story about my earlier days of being a pro. I won't reveal too much, but I think it should be enough of a reward for you guys," he said.

He turned to them and slipped off his glasses. He waved it at the girls with narrow eyes. "But that means that you won't be snooping around again. If I catch any of you going through my stuff again, all four of you will be enlisting for my Bootcamp, and I'll make sure the training camp last year pales in comparison in terms of difficulty. Extensive weight and cardio training, torture chambers, sparring with me, and so much more, do you understand?"

They all nodded with wide eyes. Yaoyorozu and Uraraka walked around the couch and sat down opposite the Symbol of Peace. Hagakure reached over and grabbed some of the tools, and helped Deku with his gauntlet.

While they worked, Yaoyorozu couldn't help but think about the newspaper headline. She heard from Iida that he didn't want to talk about something in Tokyo, but how he reacted concerned her. The way he grabbed the holo-disc also concerned her because he could've just asked for it back instead of grabbing it like she was about to see something nasty.

She promised that it wouldn't happen again, but if she could prevent hundreds of deaths in Tokyo, she had to figure out what happened.

'Shigaraki and All for One are dead? Good news, but who else did they take with them?' she thought.

So I think it goes without saying that this is an AU close to canon. Here is what changed from the manga—warning, spoilers ahead. Swipe to the next chapter or back out if you want to avoid it.

So, here is what changed:

-Shigaraki was too injured when he escaped, leaving Tartarus intact.

-Smoke Screen was replaced by Enhanced Senses, going off a theory early last year that this would be a Quirk.

-Because Tartarus wasn't touched and Shigaraki was too injured to work, Deku never left U.A.

-My previous crossovers, "Pro Heroes? Or Miraculous?" and "My Hero: The Mecha-Menace," are all a part of this story as well. Give them a read if you haven't had the chance yet.

Your feedback is appreciated. I will be editing previous chapters, so this whole story is nice and clean. Until next time!
