"This is officially my last video as a werewolf," Emma grinned in front of her cell phone camera. "No more painful transformations. No more gross werewolf form. And no more basement."

She turned the camera showing the space around. Aurelia called her in the previous day. She had finally found a ritual that could possibly end her curse.

"Once this is over, I'll turn this basement into something completely new. It'll be where I'll start recording my videos again and rehearse for my auditions. Sarah has given me some amazing ideas."

Emma sighed and looked down, thinking about her mate. She was the one who motivated her to start doing vlogs again. So far she managed to record some short videos. And it felt great.

"Oh, about Sarah. The girl who stole my bedroom, my sanity and a little bit of my heart too. She's… special."

Her affection for her mate had grown now she was having the chance of getting to know her better. But at the same time, all those intense feelings and unknown sensations still scared her.

"I've been holding myself better than expected around her. Of course, there's an undying and undeniable sexual tension between us. Deep gazes, long pauses during our conversations, those… 'almost kisses'."

Emma rolled her eyes and threw her head back in frustration. Holding herself around Sarah wasn't being an easy task. Like Kaitlyn said, they were like fire near gasoline. The attraction between them was explosive.

"Damn! I want to kiss her again so badly. But I can't. Not until I have all of this figured out. I'm too young to be tied to someone for the rest of my life."

"Addison needs to pick up some stuff she ordered for the diner and wants me to go with her," Emma lied before leaving that morning, when she finished having breakfast with Sarah. "It's a little far from here. We'll probably be out all day."

"It's okay," the girl was mostly recovered from the car accident, only struggling with some pain on her injured leg. "I can be alone for a few hours. I'm not dying or anything."

"Jenna will be staying with you, just in case. If there's any emergency…"

"I'll call you and you'll be home immediately."

Those were the words Emma repeated every single day before she left for work. Everytime Sarah repeated them in that sarcastic tone while rolling her eyes, she noticed how pathetic she sounded. Yet, she couldn't help feeling a little protective. She blamed it on the mating bond.

"You're starting to act worse than my dad, you know?" Sarah let out a small, playful laugh.

"I'm sorry," Emma sighed in shame. "It's just that I promised him I'd take care of you and he'd never forgive me if something happens."

"Nothing is going to happen. I promise."

Sarah stood up and hugged her, making that electric sensation irradiate all over her body again. Emma was starting to get used to that. She was learning to enjoy that one true signal of their bond.

"I can assure nothing is going to happen to me . But what about you, Emma? You won't be doing anything dangerous, will you?"

The girl's nightmares hadn't stopped. Back when Emma hadn't been around the supernatural, she never assumed dreams could have any kind of meaning. Now she was starting to get a little scared.

"No," she answered after a while. She knew she'd be safe in Aurelia's presence. The Elder would never expose her to any kind of danger. "I won't."

Hours later, the way back to New York was silent and tense. The ritual hadn't worked as planned. Emma was standing for hours in the middle of a circle of fire, while Aurelia burned some herbs and prayed in some kind of ancient language.

"So?" Addison was leaning against a tree, waiting for it to be concluded.

"Still werewolf," Emma lamented, frustrated.

Aurelia noticed her frustration. She seemed genuinely upset the ritual wasn't enough to break Eliza's curse.

"All the death and blood shredded in that place have given Eliza too much power," the Elder explained. "She's being persistent on her goal."

"And what does she want to leave Emma alone?" Addison asked Aurelia.

"She wants to bring pain to those she assumes to be responsible for her child's death."

"I'm not fucking killing Laura, Ryan or anyone else." Emma protested as they started to walk back to Addison's car. "This bitch can burn in hell, along with her stupid freak show."

Addison nudged her hardly, making her almost lose balance.

"Be more respectful. Not only you're in presence of our Elder, but we were doing a sacred ritual."

"Sorry."

Before they left, Aurelia gave Emma some herbs and taught her to prepare a tea. She assured it'd make her next transformation less painful.

"Look, Emma…" Addison turned off the radio, in an attempt to start a conversation. "I know you hate being a werewolf. I must admit I wasn't happy either at your age. But…"

"You're satisfied, aren't you?" Emma decided to unleash all her anger and frustration onto her. "If it was up to you right now we'd be doing my initiation ritual and marking me as one of your pack."

"Do you realize you're always trying to control everything around you? Your curse, your transformation, people's moods and actions, your bond with Sarah..."

She sighed. It was useless to deny that she indeed did that. All the time.

"Some things you cannot change," Addison continued. "But you can make them better."

"I don't know how this can get any better," Emma crossed her arms and frowned. "Every Full Moon feels like going to hell and back."

"What if you just decide to accept it just until we find another ritual? I'm not telling you to give up. But give it a break. Relax. Enjoy it."

"How can I enjoy it?"

"Come on, tell me you don't like to use your abilities. Not even a little."

Emma rolled her eyes while a small smile appeared in the corners of her mouth. A lot of things became easier in her daily life, now she had learned how to use her extra strength. Listening to people's conversations through her enhanced hearing was another perk of her werewolf abilities.

"Okay…" she finally allowed a small smile to appear on the corners of her mouth. "I do."

"What about your mate?" Addison nudged her playfully this time. "Aren't you enjoying it even a little bit?"

"No. She's great but… I decided to keep some distance. I'm afraid of what this whole mating bond thing means."

"Honestly, do you think Carl and Diane skipped directly to marriage?" It was the woman's turn to roll her eyes at Emma. "Of course not. Do yourself a favor and have some fun, for god's sake."

The conversation with Addison made Emma feel a little better. Yet, she was still upset when she got home. Especially because the next Full Moon was right around the corner. After dinner, she headed to the building's rooftop for some solitude and quietness.

"Emma?" Sarah eventually joined her after a few minutes. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah," Emma lied, forcing a smile. "I had an exhaustive day. Just feeling a little tired."

"Come on, you were so excited this morning and now you look sad. You barely touched your food."

Even if Sarah was human and didn't feel their bond in the same intensity as Emma, it was obvious she could sense her emotions too.

"There's more about me than you can imagine, Sarah. I'm going through things I can't even tell people. They'd think I'm crazy."

"Is it related to that night in Summer Camp? You can tell me when you feel ready. I never thought you and your friends were lying."

"Thank you," following Addison's advice, Emma decided to let her guard down a little. She smiled and wrapped an arm around Sarah's shoulders, bringing her closer to her body. "I'm glad to hear that."

"Good news," Sarah announced when Emma came home from work that evening. "The doctor has officially discharged me. I can go back to my apartment and you can have your bedroom back."

Emma knew it would happen eventually. Yet, she couldn't help feeling a little disappointed.

She enjoyed having Sarah around. She had gotten used to her sweet presence in her life. She had gotten used to her fragrance now being everywhere around the apartment, especially in her bedroom. She had gotten used to keep her enhanced hearing active, to detect any strange noises coming from her mate in the middle of the night.

That girl made her forget about her werewolf issue and the failure of the ritual. Her contagious laugh and silly jokes could get her out even from the worst of the moods. Emma finally felt more like her old self, now she was around.

"Oh, are you sure?" She asked, searching for any excuses to ask her to stay. "I mean, your leg still hurts sometimes and…"

"Emma, I'm going to miss you too. But it's a little bit too soon for us to move in together, right?"

"Right. I'm just saying that if you need to stay a little longer, I wouldn't mind."

"Don't say that…" Sarah looked down, biting her lower lip. "Don't ask me to stay. I don't think I'll be able to say no."

"And what if I ask you…" Emma inhaled deeply, gathering courage to say those next few words. "to go out with me? I'm planning something I know you'll love."

"Yes! Hell yes!"

Emma decided to handle it differently from the last time, with Abi. Even if that meant being rejected by her own mate. That night, after their date, she'd tell Sarah the truth and let her decide if she could accept her for everything she was. Even a monster.

They had a good time that evening, watching a rom-com together at an outdoor exhibit, then walking around the park holding hands and ending the night at a fast food restaurant. Once they returned home, Emma would tell her everything.

Before they entered the building, where she'd show Sarah the basement where she transformed, there was one last thing she wanted to do. She wanted to test their mating bond. She wanted to know if everything she had been assuming in those last few weeks was actually real. She wanted to feel that sensation again. The same sensation she felt that night. It could be her final chance. She possibly wouldn't have another opportunity after she revealed her secret.

"Sarah," Emma gently placed her hand on the girl's arm, before opening the door.

She stared into those light blue eyes for a moment, letting her guard down to show what she wanted. And somehow, the blonde seemed to understand it perfectly. Emma touched her face and placed a strand of hair behind her ear, before leaning forward. Sarah closed the distance between them, pressing her lips on hers.

The kiss was passionate, feverish. Showing how both of them had been longing for that moment in weeks.

"Whoa," Sarah smiled when they parted. "That was… breathtaking. And I was starting to think you didn't want me."

"This isn't true," Emma gently nuzzled her neck. One bite in that specific spot and they'd bonded together for life. Permanently. She applied a small kiss there instead. "I want you. So much it scares me."

"Then why do you act so distant sometimes? You didn't let me get any closer to you during these weeks."

"I wanted you to be fully recovered before. There's a reason for that."

Emma took a deep breath. It wouldn't be something easy to do. She hadn't really done that before. Benjamin found out by connecting the dots, based on his uncle's experience. Jenna was a little bit drunk when she told, at first she laughed and assumed she was joking. Then she hugged her and cried. With Abi and the other counselors… well, it was an unfortunate accident.

"Sarah, we had a good time, right?" She started. "Not only tonight. These weeks you've been staying with me. That night at the wedding…"

"We certainly did. Look, I think I know where this is going. I've noticed how you keep your guard up around me all the time. It's okay, we can be friends. But friends don't kiss the way you kissed me right now."

"Shhhh," Emma silenced her with another quick, soft kiss. Sarah had a tendency to speak a lot when she was feeling anxious. "There's a reason why I keep my guard up. And it's not because I want to be friends only."

"Her name is Abi, right? I heard your friends talking about her."

"This is not about Abi either. It's something else. Something I want to show you."

"Here's it," Emma guided the blonde to the basement of the building, where she locked herself every Full Moon to safely transform into a werewolf. "You always wanted to know what's in the basement."

"Okay…" Sarah walked around, observing everything around her. "Now I'm starting to get really freaked out. What are these chains for? And… are these blood marks on the walls?"

The blonde started to become distressed, shooting panicked glances at the stairs and the exit door.

"I swear I didn't murder anyone down here. You'll understand in a minute."

She gave Sarah her cell phone, where she started playing one of the videos she recorded from her transformations.

"I'm… I'm a monster, Sarah. Every Full Moon, since that incident at Hackett's Quarry, I become a werewolf. I got infected that night and it never went away."

Sarah didn't answer. Her blue eyes were fixed on the screen. As Emma struggled to the pain of her transformation in the video, a single tear streamed across her cheek.

"T-This is… This is horrible," the girl wiped the tears from her cheeks. But she didn't stop watching. When Emma finally shifted to her werewolf form, it scared her a little.

"I know. And I understand if you don't want to see me anymore," Emma said. "But I don't intend to remain a werewolf forever. I've been trying to break this curse."

Sarah didn't say anything. Still looking at the video on the screen, she was trying to process what she had just watched.

"I know this is too much. This is why my relationship with Abi ended. When she found out, she said we couldn't be together while I'm still a monster."

"Are you fucking kidding me?! Yes, Emma. This is too much." Sarah hadn't stopped crying. Her voice came out loud, but cracking a little bit. "It's too much for someone to go through alone. W-Who… Who else knows that?"

"My roommates, friends from Hackett's Quarry and… those people you saw at the wedding, they're also…"

"Oh my god! So it was a werewolf wedding. I fucking knew it!"

In the middle of sobs, the girl let out a laugh. One that Emma couldn't help but laugh too.

"They…" there was still the second part of her revelation. Now she was sure Sarah would definitely run away. "They were mates. Mating bonds are very rare, but it can happen. Between two werewolves or a werewolf and a human, like…"

"You and me," Sarah already connected the dots. "This is why it's so intense between us. And how you found me so quickly after the accident. This is also why I can guess each one of your moods, before you even get home."

"Yes, I feel pretty connected to you too. Being a werewolf, it's more intense for me."

The blonde did the last thing Emma expected her to do. She threw herself in her direction, wrapping her arms tightly around her body. They stayed in that position for minutes, in complete silence.

"I… I have no idea what being a mate means exactly," Sarah was still crying, but now she had a small smile on the corners of her lips. "I don't know how to even act like a mate, but… I can learn. I want to be your mate, Emma. I want to be here for you. You just have to let me in."

Emma was speechless. She opened her mouth to argue, to protest and tell Sarah how crazy she was sounding, but she couldn't. With any other person, it was the moment she'd push her away even further. She'd act tough, confident, independent. She'd try to prove she didn't need anyone.

But instead, she allowed herself to be vulnerable. She allowed herself to cry while she embraced Sarah back.

They both couldn't sleep that night. Once they were done with the emotional part, Sarah had a lot of questions about lycanthropy. Emma didn't know how to answer most of them yet. And some were just ridiculously funny.

"Oh, I just realized," now the blonde was on her laptop, searching for any information she could find. "The next Full Moon is tomorrow. I want to be there in the basement with you."

"No way," Emma said. She had seen what werewolves were capable of back at the Summer Camp. Even a good man, like Mr. H, would become a vicious beast. "I have no control of my actions when I transform. I'd kill you or hurt you very badly."

"This is what the chains are for, right? I will keep a safe distance. I can stay by the door or on the stairs."

"Let's not risk it, okay? You can just stay here in the apartment. It already means a lot to me."

At some point, there was no more energy left in Sarah's body. She fell asleep by Emma's side, exhausted. She tried to do the same, knowing soon morning would arise and she'd have to start with her usual routine for the Full Moon nights.

August, 2023

Addison had warned Emma about the effects of the mating bond becoming more intense when she was closer to the transformation. And she felt that as soon as she woke up that morning. She had barely opened her eyes, when she inhaled Sarah's fragrance. The girl was sleeping by her side.

She remembered the previous night, when they exchanged a few kisses after their important and emotional conversation. But now, she needed more. She wanted to repeat that night they had back at the wedding.

She went out to the gym before the girl was even awake. Working out would definitely help to burn those extra energies that were consuming her thoughts.

"I can't do that… I can't."

Emma still remembered the disaster in Abi's bedroom. She was very close to losing control and doing something she could regret for the rest of her life.

That was the only day she couldn't risk claiming Sarah by accident. Her bite would certainly infect her. She worked out until she was exhausted, too worn out to engage in any other kind of physical action.

"I'm home," Emma announced when she arrived from the gym. The studio apartment was completely silent. Maybe Sarah had gone out. Luckly enough, by the time she returned Jenna would also be there and Emma would be completely safe.

On the way to the bedroom, where she'd take a long cold shower, she felt as someone came running in her direction.

"My mate!" Sarah wrapped her arms around her neck, placing a kiss on her lips. Emma automatically felt her heartbeats increasing, as well as the heat growing in her abdominal area.

"Hey… uh… let's try to keep some distance today, okay? Literally all my feelings are heightened, if you know what I mean."

"Oh. And this is supposed to be a bad thing?"

"Yeah, I…" suddenly it felt like her energies were all restored. Her body was no longer weary and sore. "I can lose control."

"You know the best way to learn to control yourself is practicing, right?"

Sometimes Emma forgot their bond worked both ways. She felt it more intensely for being a werewolf, but Sarah definitely experienced its effects too. She could just sense it, by the rhythm of her heartbeats, by the warmth irradiating from her skin. She wanted the same as she did. In the same intensity.

Emma didn't even know who started and how. But when she noticed, their mouths were already devouring each other. The bedroom suddenly became too far. She needed to have Sarah right there, right at that moment.

The way to the couch was a complete disaster. They bumped into furniture. Objects, papers and other stuff got spread all over the floor and they could hear something crashing. Probably one of Jenna's vases.

Emma threw Sarah on the couch, crawling on top of her.

"There's… uh… one thing though," she spoke. Her hands were already eagerly stroking Sarah's tights. "Don't let me bite you. Got it?"

"Okay…" the blonde was already impatient, moving her hips to meet her hands. "Better make sure I keep your mouth busy then."

She grabbed Emma's neck, bringing her back to her mouth. The way their tongues moved together were driving Emma wild. Her hand went inside Sarah's shorts, without even mind taking it off.

The blonde moaned and gasped against Emma's mouth as her movements became more intense, more quick. Returning the favor, Sarah's knee pressed just against Emma's center, giving her pleasure even with layers of clothes between them.

They stopped kissing for a moment. Emma closed her eyes, giving in to the sensation. Sarah nibbed on her lower lip.

"Don't tease," she let out a small laugh, between pants. "Addison said she'll kill me if I infect someone."

"You didn't say anything that I couldn't bite you ."

"Cheeky!"

Once Emma resumed her movements, Sarah could barely focus on their kiss anymore. Soon, her body was trembling under Emma's as she reached her peak.

It didn't take long for Emma to collapse in ecstasy too. She immediately backed away, panting exhausted. She had done that. She managed to keep control.

"God, I… I need a cold shower. Right now."

Just when she had reached the bathroom, Sarah entered there too, locking the door behind them. She started taking off her clothes.

"What?" She said with a devilish smile. "My clothes are a mess. I need a shower too."

"What the hell happened here?" Jenna was very confused when she got home for lunch, noticing the chaos in the apartment. "Were we robbed or something?"

Emma and Sarah exchanged a quick glance. They planned to clean up that mess before Jenna was home, but their shower took way longer than expected.

"I'm sorry," Emma blushed. "I… uh… I was…"

"She was showing me something she did in a school play," Sarah lied. "You know, her acting skills."

"I don't think this kind of play is allowed in schools, Emma," Jenna let out a laugh, shaking her head in denial.

"I'm not myself when I'm a werewolf, okay? I'm savage."

"Sure. No one is judging."

After lunch, Emma decided to rest a little before she started feeling the effects of the incoming transformation. She was lying with bed with Sarah, listening to music.

"Are you nervous?" Sarah asked, noticing she was quiet. "I can feel it."

"I always do," Emma confessed. "Even after two years. Soon it starts to become painful."

The blonde reached for her hand, squeezing it tightly.

"It'll be different this time. I'll be there with you, until you're close to shifting."

As soon as the night started to fall, Emma went to the basement with Sarah. The first thing she did was to inject herself with a high dosage of a potent sedative. Then, she restrained herself with the chains. The girl watched everything from a distance, looking a little apprehensive.

The pain already started to spread all over Emma's body. She felt her muscles stretching and her bones starting to shift. She fell on the floor, letting out a pained grunt.

"Emma," Sarah made the motion of coming forward to help.

"Stay… there…" She ordered.

The pain was less intense this time due to Aurelia's herbs. The transformation also seemed to be happening quicker.

"Promise me… you… won't stay…"

"O-Okay… I promise."

"Now, go… it's close. I-I c-can feel it…"

Sarah nodded. Her light blue eyes filled with tears.

"I… I'll be with you, okay?" She spoke, anxiously. "Through our bond. I'm not leaving you."

Emma gave her one last smile. Then, as soon as she heard the basement's door closing, she just closed her eyes and waited.

The mornings after becoming a werewolf were literally hell. Every single muscle in Emma's body was exhausted, weak and sore. Her bones ached from all those changes. The blood that covered her entire body also filled her nostrils and mouth, making her feel sick.

"This is okay, Emma. It's over."

She slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was still blurred and adjusting to its normal human nature. The taste of blood was considerably reduced this time. That awful metallic smell too. Her head was resting somewhere soft and comfortable, while someone tenderly cleaned her face with a wet towel and caressed her hair.

"Everything is okay now," her eyes were finally able to distinguish the figure that was holding her.

"Sarah…" she attempted to speak but her voice was still weak.

"Shhhh. I'm here with you."

They remained in that position until Emma felt strong enough to stand up again and go to the small bathroom in the basement. Sarah helped her with everything. From walking to sitting down with her under the shower. She also helped Emma wash her hair and get dressed. Going back to the studio apartment, she prepared some breakfast for them.

There was no way someone would endure that every month, Emma thought. That would certainly be the end for them. Sarah would be too traumatized from what she witnessed the previous night. She'd become cold, distant and eventually tell Emma she couldn't do that anymore. It was too much for Emma herself. It'd be too much for any other 20 years old. She wouldn't stay. She knew that.

"You don't have to do this, you know," Emma spoke when they were having lunch together, hours later, when she woke up from a long and restoring nap. "It's gross and ugly and… dangerous."

"I want to do this," Sarah shrugged, taking a bite of her food as if they just had a completely regular night. She didn't look any frightened or scared. "It's a painful thing you have to go through, Emma. You don't need to act tough and do this on your own."

"I… It was good to have you around. It wasn't as bad as the other times. Thank you."

"We'll be doing that every month from now on. And I'll try to find manners to make it even less painful."

Emma couldn't say anything. She felt a funny sensation in her stomach instead. The sensation that she was actually starting to fall in love with the girl in front of her.

"Addison keeps inviting me to join her pack," she told. "Every Full Moon they reunite in that property you visited at the wedding."

"Wait, are you telling me you're missing the opportunity of transforming with other werewolves?" Sarah asked. "Free from basement, chains and sedatives?"

"Why do you make it sound like it's something incredible?"

"Because it is? Sorry, maybe it's not that incredible. But it definitely sounds better than what you've been going through."

A few days had passed. Emma was learning to enjoy that new phase of her life. She took Addison's advice to stop that inner battle against her werewolf side until Aurelia could find a new ritual. She called the girls she met at the den, accepting their offering to learn some fighting skills.

Being around Sarah also helped. Her mate made Emma slowly regain some of her confidence, her personality again. She reactivated her old channel and started planning some new ideas for her vlogs.

Everything was starting to feel stable, peaceful again.

Sarah wanted to meet Addison before the next Full Moon. Not only to have all of her questions answered, but also to ask if there were any manners she could be in the manor while Emma transformed along with the pack.

Emma stayed in the diner after her shift, waiting for her. She was surprised when she heard the door opening when they were just about to close.

"Sorry," she shouted, before noticing who was standing there. "We're… Abi?! What are you doing here?"

"Emma, hi!" Abi opened a smile when she saw her. "You disappeared. You stopped calling and texting me. I was kinda worried."

"You rarely replied my texts or answered my calls. I assumed I was causing you distress, so I stopped."

That was the first time Emma was actually seeing Abi in person, after she told her she couldn't be with her while she was still a werewolf.

She did try to keep in touch. She tried to make it up for all the lying, all the stress she caused her. She was willing to do anything to fix their relationship, if Abi had just accepted her the way she was at the moment. But the feeling didn't seem to be mutual. Abi wasn't willing to make an effort, a concession until she found a manner to be human again.

"Kaitlyn told me you had found a way to break your curse."

"It didn't work."

"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that."

There was a hint of disappointment in her voice. Emma wondered if she only showed up because she believed she was free from the curse.

"Look, Emma…" Abi inhaled deeply. "I want to support you through this. I really do. But I don't know how. This is why I've been keeping some distance."

"Acting like the others and treating me normally?" Emma suggested. "It would be just fine."

The diner's door opened and Sarah entered. She had absolutely no idea the girl standing there was Emma's ex-girlfriend. At least the situation wouldn't be so tense, so embarrassing.

"Hey, gorgeous," she kissed Emma's cheek. "Addison is here?"

"Yeah, she's in her office upstairs. She's waiting for you," Emma told, smiling fondly at her. "I'll be there in a minute."

"Wow, you two look close," the girl left and Abi seemed confused at the scene she just watched. "Is she your girlfriend or something?"

"Sort of. She's my mate too, so we're still trying to figure things out slowly."

" Mate ? Is that a werewolf slang or anything like that?"

"No. It means we share a special bond. We're… uh… partners for life."

"Come on, Emma! Do you really believe this crap now?" Abi let out a small, ironic laugh. "I mean, back at Summer Camp you'd laugh at this stuff. You made so much fun of Jacob when he once said you were soulmates."

"It's different, Abi. I just feel it," Emma tried to explain briefly about all the sensations and feelings she experienced.

"Is she also a werewolf?"

"No, she's human."

"Oh," Abi made a small pause, appearing to be surprised. "And does she know about you?"

Emma was starting to feel annoyed and a little bit offended. Abi made it sound like no one would actually want to be with her, knowing about her werewolf side.

"Yes and she has a lot of questions," she replied, angry. "This is what she wants to discuss with my boss. Who also happens to be a werewolf. And we're all going to a goddamn Werewolf Den by the next Full Moon."

"I thought you hated being a werewolf. What changed?"

"I'm tired of being at war against myself."

There was an uncomfortable tension hanging in the air between them. None of them dared to say another word.

"Mountebank!" Emma thanked the heavens when Addison's voice echoed through the diner, saving her from that situation. "Are you coming or not?"

"I should…"

"Sure," Abi sighed and turned around to leave, "I just wanted to check how you were doing. See you around, Emma."

"See you, Abi."
