Jon woke with a start. Ghost was laying his head on his lap. "Hey Ghost," he whispered petting the dog's large head. Jon let out a shaky breath and looked up. The tv was off and he heard the shower running. Ghost looked up at him, silent worry was in his eyes. "I'm okay Ghost," Jon said with a forced half-smile,
"Jon, I'm in the bathroom. Once I'm done then we can go down a get breakfast," Rhaegar called through the open bathroom door. Jon nodded as he got off the bed. Ghost jumped down, tail wagging. 'Let's get ready for the day, boy," Jon told the dog who licked his hand. Jon smiled down at him, but his smile faded when he remembered his dream.
He was running, running without thinking where he was going. He had to get away from them. The people that he didn't trust all the way. Why didn't he see it sooner? They might kill him. Jon shook that thought away. He had to get to his father. His father can help. Won't he? Jon shook the thought away. No time for those thoughts. He had to get away from them. Jon turned a corner and stopped when he was face to face with a brick wall. "No, crap," he muttered turning around. He closed his eyes when he heard them coming closer. 'Stay away. Stay away please.' Jon thought running his hand through his long hair. 'Help. Please somebody help.' Jon thought as he sank down to the ground.
"Jon? Jon"
"Jon?" Jon's eyes snapped open as he stared at his father who was looking at him concernedly. Jon blinked and let out a shaky breath and looked down. Ghost was laying his muscle on his leg.
"Right. Sorry, lost in thought there. Let's get something to eat," Jon said keeping his voice steady but failing a little. His father sighed and walked over to the door. Jon got off the bed. "Stay here, Ghost. We will be back soon," Jon told the dog as he and his father walked out of the hotel room.
Rhaegar watched his son as he ate. He was having nightmares again. He hasn't had these nightmares since it happened. "Jon?" Rhaegar asked his son who was taking a sip of juice.
"Yes," he said quietly. Jon looked up at him and smiled a little. Rhaegar sighed. "I'm fine, father," Jon said after seeing the look of worry on his father's face.
"You're not, Jon," Rhaegar said gently. "I'm here, you know that. So will everyone else. When we get there. Ned called last night. He can house us," Rhaegar said changing the topic. Jon nodded but he didn't say anything as they both went back to eating.
They were back in the car again. Ghost was asleep in the backseat while Jon watched him lost in thought. He should have told his father about his nightmare, about the memory that he had told no one but the police. Jon sighed and looked back to the front window. "Father?" Jon asked when his father turned onto the street. Houses flew past them, and Jon knew that they were almost there. He's almost back to where he spent his childhood before he knew who his turn father was.
"Yes, Jon?" Rhaegar asked, turning down another road.
"Um, will they be happy to see me" Jon asked. He didn't want to say that, but his fear got the better of him.
"Of course, Jon, why wouldn't they?" Rhaegar asked as they pulled up to the large black and gray house. Two cars stood in the driveway. A wheelchair ramp was installed by the door. Rhaegar turned off the car and smiled. Jon sighed and opened the car door. His father did the same thing. "Are you ready to see your family Jon?" Rhaegar asked Jon who was letting Ghost out. Jon nodded as he walked to the front door.
