After dinner, Lily talked with Audrey until it was time to go down to the hall meeting. At 8 pm, Lily, Audrey, and Andrea went down to the commons area. Lily immediately took a seat beside Julia, and Audrey sat with them. Lily introduced them.

Mrs. Cutter came in and waited until everyone was comfortable. Mrs. Cutter said, "Welcome students to another year at Ilvermorny. Over the summer, several decisions were made to better the school and the communication between students and staff to prevent another incident of what happened last year. First off, second years will now be mentoring first years. If a second year has a first year in their dorm, that second year has been chosen as a mentor for the first year." Lily smiled at Audrey who blushed. "Second, there will now be two floor prefects for each floor along with two house head students."

There was a buzz across the common room at this announcement.

Mrs. Cutter continued, "For floor one, the prefects are Heather Young and Monique Knick. For floor two, the prefects are Andrea Little and Nancy Jenkins…" Mrs. Cutter then went on to name the remaining floor prefects for that year in their building. "House head students are both seventh years. Sylvia Brooks and Kendra Replogle. Curfew is nine-thirty for first and second years, ten for third years, ten-thirty for fourth and fifth years, and eleven for sixth and seventh years. If caught out after curfew, you will be issued detention."

After that, the meeting wound down after a few more announcements. Lily said, "Mrs. Cutter, for the second-years who are mentoring, what is required of us?"

A few of the other second years that were in their building became very attentive at this. Julia included.

Mrs. Cutter said, "Show your first year around, help them with their homework, make sure they are making friends amongst their year group, and most of all, make sure they are feeling at home here at Ilvermorny."

Everyone smiled.

Up in their room, Lily sat down with Audrey. Andrea was in her room typing up an email to her parents to let them know that she was chosen as floor prefect for their dorm room.

Audrey said, "So, you are my mentor?"

Lily said, "Seems like it. Do you have any questions?"

Audrey said, "Way too many to count."

Lily sat and answered as many as Audrey questions as she could. It was soon lights out, and Lily assured her to show her around the next day and help her find her classrooms. Audrey thanked her before going into her room and closing the door.

In her room, Lily sighed. Belle was there. She smiled. Lily said, "Hey girl. Hope you had a safe flight. Good night."
The next day, Audrey and Lily went down to the common room where they found Julia with her first-year, Serenity Moon. They went up to the school where they found their other friends, Deidra, Brandy, and Renee. Each of them had a first year.

The first years immediately started going over their schedules and found they all had the same schedule. Lily raised her eyebrow at that. It couldn't be a coincidence. Lily and her friends showed the first years around the school, showing them where the library, infirmary, observatory, gymnasium, and their classrooms were. They then showed them the entrances to the tunnels to get to the greenhouses and dorms were.

Back in her dorm room, Lily unpacked her books and put them on the bookshelf. Lily looked at her schedule and grabbed the books she would need for in the morning. She had Transfiguration, Charms, Dark Creatures in the morning, and after lunch, she had herbology, potions, study hall, and her general studies class finished off the day. Her Astronomy class practical was on Thursday nights instead of Friday this year. This pushed her Friday classes back an hour so she could get more sleep. On Friday, she had Astronomy, General Studies, followed by lunch, with music and history in the afternoon in that order.

The next morning, Lily showered and donned her uniform. She went over to Audrey's room and knocked. Audrey opened the door. She was dressed. Lily smiled.

Lily said, "Nice to see your up. What classes you got this morning?"

Lily helped her gather her school things and they walked up to the school where they met their friends. Just as they were finishing up, Lily saw that her brother had come in. She felt guilty that she hadn't asked him how he had done all weekend. Lily excused herself quick and walked over to him and Jasmine.

James said, "Lily, how are you doing?"

Lily said, "I'm good. How are you?"
James said, "I'm great. Made floor prefect in my dorm. I wasn't expecting that."

Lily said, "Congratulations. I must be going. I have to show a student to her class before I going to Transfiguration."

James nodded. He said, "I had heard about the mentor program that they have going. I take you got a first year?"
Lily nodded. She went back to her friends. They walked the first years up to their first class, General Studies, before heading off to their own classes. Julia and Renee followed Lily to Transfiguration. Deidra and Brandy had Charms first.

The teacher began by introducing herself, and then collected the summer homework. The rest of the class was going over what to expect this year along with passing out the syllabus. She had them read the first chapter of their book for homework, and tomorrow they would practice the spell.

Lily wrote the homework down in her planner and quickly went to the General Studies classroom and got there just as it was letting out. Audrey smiled when she saw her.

Lily said, "How did it go?"

Audrey said, "It went well."

Lily and Audrey both had charms next which their classrooms were side by side. Lily watched as Audrey took her seat, and then went next door. The rest of the day went smoothly. After the last class of the day, Lily and her friends led their first years to the library and showed them that they could sign up for a study room. Lily went ahead and booked one of the rooms that could hold 20 people for the year, so that they could study with the first years and help them with their homework and if the first years had anyone else that would want to join them.

Lily then showed Audrey how to work the library system. It was very similar to the non-magical library system, but with a magical twist. You choose a book and it'll come to you.

As they were heading back to the study room, someone grabbed Lily's arm. Lily turned, and saw it was Thomas. Lily said, "Audrey, go ahead to the study room. I'll be along shortly."

Lily could tell that Audrey was unsure, but eventually the girl nodded her head. After Audrey rounded the corner, Lily wrenched her arm free from Thomas' grasp and folded her arms. She said, "What do you want Thomas?"

Thomas said, "I do not like being made a fool of."

Lily said, "You made a fool of yourself, Thomas, and again by doing this in the library. I don't know what your problem is, Thomas. We are done."

The librarian, Ms. Stanton came over and said, "That's enough. Ms. Potter, please return to your study room, quietly, and Mr. Branton, if you are not here to study, I must ask you leave. This is a library not a shouting arena."

Lily watched Thomas storm out. She turned to Ms. Stanton and said, "I'm sorry, Ms. Stanton for the shouting."

Ms. Stanton's face softened and said, "Your fine, Ms. Potter."

Back in the study room, Lily sat down in her seat and sighed. Renee looked up from proofreading one of the first-year essays and said, "What's up?"

"Thomas…"
Renee immediately knew what was wrong. She said, "If he continues bothering you, I suggest you file a complaint."

Lily nodded and pulled her planner towards her and began planning out her study time. She had already gotten her reading done for Transfiguration and charms. Lily figured she would use her study hall time to do any research that may be required for homework assignments, and then use her evening time to work on the homework assignments and anymore research that was required.

They soon decided to call a halt to their studying and go and get some supper.
