A/N: Hello, I'm back. I've been picking this up again on AO3, which explains the new title, rewriting and restructuring of existing chapters. Updates will be more frequent, I have a clear idea of where this is going.

Elsie Chapman's Field Notes

Godzilla, Komodithrax and her offspring Kori have formed a tight and cohesive family unit, even in spite of Godzilla's frequent excursions to follow H.E.A.T. across the globe. Observations show that he and Komodithrax take turns in acquiring food and watching over the juvenile on the island. Kori does not swim in the waters surrounding the island unsupervised. According to Dr. Tatopoulos, geothermal activity has created pockets of warm water around the island which the juvenile frequents. She has yet to develop a tolerance for the colder waters further out from shore.

We have also discovered that Kori had been at work constructing a network of tunnels around the island. The purpose of this network has yet to be determined. Perhaps the juvenile desires more independent time away from the parents? It should be noted that one of her tunnels leads straight to our outpost and that the creature pays us a daily visit.

Kori has developed an observable response to individual humans, recognizing differences in personality that affect her behavior. She treats Dr. Tatopoulos as a family member, much like Godzilla, and is given the most affection and loyalty. Towards myself, Randy Hernandez and Dr. Craven, the creature regards us as companions and desires our attention through various means, mostly desiring food or playing. Mendel is understandably more dismissive of Kori. Maybe the increased frequency of N.I.G.E.L.'s destruction will force him to upgrade. It's been two years already. On occasion I have observed Randy using Kori to prank Mendel, displaying how comfortable she is associating with the team.

Unfortunately, Kori reacts to Monique Dupre with a noticeable level of hesitation, attributed to an incident wherein she walked in on a martial arts training session between Ms. Dupre and Dr. Tatopoulos and perceived it as an attack, rushing to his defense. Time will tell if she warms up to Ms. Dupre (and vice-versa), though given the latter's disposition this will not be an easy process. Regardless, she tolerates Monique so long as another member is with them. Overall, Kori seems to be very welcoming of H.E.A.T. 's presence.

With regards to outsiders, Kori displays a variety of reactions. She reacts to Major Hicks, our most common visitor, with slight aggression. Perhaps his new job as warden of Monster Island has left the scent of its captive mutations on him, resulting in the juvenile's negative reaction to his presence. Towards Audrey Timmonds and Victor Palotti, she is indifferent, except when Audrey is with Nick. This triggers a change in behavior in the reptile, and perceives her as an intrusion to a family member. Personal note: even though Kori is still a child, maybe she can sense that Audrey and Nick's relationship isn't as solid and steady as her own parents.

Time will tell how Kori adapts to humanity, though I suspect that her time in this isolated island habitat is fostering an inquisitive personality that will prove volatile in the outside world.

Package for Mendel Craven

"Dear Mendel, I hope my present finds you well. I've been observing your team's performance for some time since we last met, learning what we can to improve Goehei's abilities. I've noticed how often you lose your dear robot N.I.G.E.L. on your missions, and so I gathered my team for a little pet project of mine. N.I.G.E.L. 2.0 is a formative upgrade to your companion. We've taken your basic schematics and decided to enhance them for your benefit.

You'll notice the sleek new NT-2 alloy used in its construction to make it a more durable field robot. I understand that you have more than Gojira to handle nowadays, so this should decrease total losses by 23%. We've taken liberties to expand N.I.G.E.L.'s data gathering systems by adding deployable hover-drones and advanced sampling equipment. His memory banks have been expanded tenfold, and I added in additional RAM to accommodate extra processing power for detailed field analysis.

Perhaps my team's proudest addition to N.I.G.E.L. is the transformation module, allowing him to switch from his new all-terrain legs into submersible and hover modes in a snap! It'll be easier now to extricate your friend from dire situations, now that we've upgraded his motor systems. You should receive an email containing all the necessary blueprints to be able to continue building and upgrading him on your own.

Also, I understand your coworker Randy Hernandez is a skilled technician himself, so I contacted him beforehand to ask for his aid in upgrading N.I.G.E.L. Surprisingly, his only recommendation was to add a wide variety of preset voice patterns for you to switch at your discretion. I must say, he had quite a humorous selection, so I'm certain N.I.G.E.L. will entertain you during your expeditions.

Please let me know how he performs. I hope that my work is to your satisfaction. You have been a wonderful colleague to work with, and I look forward to the next opportunity for us to work together.

Telephone Call Transcript - Alaska to New York

{Start of call}

Randy Hernandez: "Hey mom. Yeah I know I was supposed to call you after we finished settling it but work got in the way okay? How are you?"

Irene Hernandez: "Well with you gone, your father's thinking of building his own wet bar here in the house! I think he honestly misses you Randy."

Randy Hernandez: "A wet bar? Mom, is Uncle Lenny moving in with you guys? I can only think of three people dad would want a wet bar for. One of them is his poker buddies down in Savannah; you know, that one guy in the three-thousand dollar suit, and the other is Charlie Parker."

Irene Hernandez: "Oh relax honey, Lenny isn't staying in your room! So how are things with you and that Monique girl? You know I'm still mad at you for not introducing her to us before your graduation."

Randy Hernandez: "Mom please! Look, she's an amazing kick-butt kind of gal, it's already hard enough to get her to go on a date with me!"

Irene Hernandez: "Listen, I know we've only started talking again after the wonderful news of your graduation, but you've been such a busy little bee running around the world and such! You know, a workplace romance is how I met your father. I could give you some advice, you know."

Randy Hernandez: (sighs into the speaker) "Mama can we not talk about this on the phone? Besides, I don't know how much of your advice would help with a French super-spy like her. "

Irene Hernandez: "Oh come now sweetie, your mother is still a girl! Besides, with your dangerous new job I'm worried I won't have any grandchildren!"

Randy Hernandez: "Oh mom…"

Irene Hernandez: "Can you blame your mother for worrying after seeing you lying in a stretcher on TV, poisoned by a giant frog? I can't even imagine what other death-defying situations you put yourself through in the past, let alone the future. You know, when you got expelled from Empire State, I thought that was the worst my little boy has gone through. I prayed to God and thanked him for the kindness of Dr. Tatopoulos to take you in as an intern, but you've done so much more, and before I knew it you're already living far away. "

Randy Hernandez: "I know mom. Try not to cry on the phone."

Irene Hernandez: "Just promise to call me once a week okay? Now that I know my son is out saving the world, I'd like to hear from you before I hear about it on the news okay?"

{Nick Tatopoulos' voice is audible}

Nick Tatopoulos: "Randy, Godzilla's taking off! We're moving out!"

Randy Hernandez: "You got it Jefe! Okay I have to go now, gotta save the world! I'll send you guys a photo of the aurora borealis, okay?"

Irene Hernandez: "Okay Randy! I love you! Say hello to Monique for me!"

Letter from Wyoming

Hi Monique, it's Meg! Remember me from Blind Rock? How are you doing? I've been watching you guys on the news ever since you saved me and my brothers. It's kinda weird that you don't like being on camera, but sometimes I see you kicking butt out there! I saw that you were moving from New York to Alaska, so I had to take back the letter I mailed to the post office, I figured you would never have gotten it.

Anyways, after we met I started training harder with my karate instructor. I already got a blue belt, and I'm aiming to get a black belt! I also talked with him and my parents about practicing that Hung Gar kung fu you said you did! There's a lot of differences, and it's not as easy, but I want to work at it!

I wrote this letter to you after I attended the Karate Regional Tournament last week in San Francisco. I got to 2nd place! I know that's not 1st place, but mom says I'm on my way! Even Steven and Kevin don't pick on me as much now since I can kick them to the ground. Boys, am I right?

So anyway, after I beat one of my opponents, this tall man named Mr. Briggs comes up to me. He was the uncle of the opponent I just beat. He said that he recognized the medal you gave me. Mr. Briggs asked me if I knew you and I said yes! I asked him how he knew you and he said that you taught him how to fly helicopters! Maybe one day you can teach me how to fly one too huh? Pretty please?

Mr. Briggs told me about you. He said you were a very strict teacher, and I laughed at him because it was true! But he also said that I was pretty special if you gave me your pendant. Don't you worry, Monique! One day I'm going to a black belt karate master! You just wait and see!"

I hope you guys are doing okay in Alaska! Say hi to Godzilla for me, okay? Keep up saving the world for us!
