It was over a two-week period of training for him before Goliath deemed him ready to start patrolling again. Brooklyn had also taken as much time as possible to relax and recover from his pregnancy. He was strongly bonding with his kids. And though the hormone implant was out of his system, he still had some hormones that were softening his mind. He was still feeling like a new mom felt for her babies.

Goliath would never deny Brooklyn time to be with his children. They were his after all. The birth of Sienna and Kenji had changed the clan's lives forever.

In a way, Brooklyn could now understand how Goliath felt when he always wanted to be with his daughter. He might have been young, but he was a father now. He wanted to be a good parent and teach his kids all that he knew. There would be so much to teach them how to grow into honorable warriors and protectors someday.

When Thanksgiving came around, Elisa's parents and sister, and Matt came to the castle, as did the Labyrinth Clan. The four mutates and clones came to the castle for dinner. Sato had been invited but he had plans with family. There, Brooklyn introduced his twins to everyone. He was looking thinner by then, but still had more weight to lose. Maggie also had Allison there as well. She was the fourth mutate now. Ali was a couple of months older than the twins.

All the visitors were amazed and surprised at seeing that Brooklyn had become a father not too long ago. Some asked where the mother was. He had to reluctantly reveal to them that there had been no female to help him. "That's the tricky part. There was no female. I was the 'mother.' Some government humans, the Illuminati, impregnated me. Yes, I was able to carry them for nine months. Sienna and Kenji are also part human too." Brooklyn explained.

"Well, we're just glad that you made it through the pregnancy and have nice healthy babies, Brooklyn." Talon put a hand on his shoulder. "They are cute."

"Thanks." Brook replied with a smile.

"But how do you feel about being a parent so young?" Diane asked.

"I feel great, Diane. Thanks for information you gave me so long ago. I didn't realize how much love I have to give. I know I wanted to give it to a mate first, but I still haven't found that someone yet. For now, I get to give my love to these two little rascals." Brook explained and giggled at his little ones.

"You're welcome, Brooklyn." Diane replied.

The guests could see that the red gargoyle was definitely in love with his kids. They also couldn't help but see some wrinkles on his stomach as he still hadn't shed all the fat off yet. It was true of his pregnancy. It was a side effect at first for the first few months.

Broadway, Angela, Fox, and Owen had been busy preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday. David had Alex with him among the guests and clan. At least there were a few members of the next generation among them. Thanksgiving was meant to be a joyous holiday, as was Christmas coming up the following month.

Sienna and Kenji had on some clothes to help keep them warm. They were constantly kept inside to make sure that they didn't get sick. Brooklyn didn't want to take a chance. Maybe when they were a little older, he would give it a try.

Soon, the food was ready, and everyone went to get some food. Kenji and Sienna were laid down in a little playpen so their father could eat. Allison was also laid in there. The twins had been fed a while ago, so they would be good for a while. The action being seen by more new people had overwhelmed them and they fell asleep. Alex was still young, but he was eating solid food.

There was turkey, ham, mixed vegetables, peaches, yams, stuffing, apples, cake and cookies all served. It was a wonderful dinner being served. There were trays of three turkeys on the table due to so many people eating it. There was lots of the food being served for everyone.

While everyone sat at the table, Goliath made an announcement. "Thanks to everyone who made it this fine night for this amazing holiday. We all have much to be grateful this Thanksgiving. We have two new family members and thanks to everyone who has been our allies through all of our tough times. Happy Thanksgiving." He said with his glass raised.

"Happy Thanksgiving!" Everyone raised their glasses in a toast and had a drink. Then they proceeded to eat their food in happiness with some conversations popping up here and there.

Brooklyn still somewhat had an eye on Delilah, but she saw that her heart belonged to his clone. It saddened him, but he knew he would have to broaden his horizons. He might as well give up on finding a female for now. He was always trying too hard to impress almost any female that came on the scene before him. That needed to stop. His kids needed a real mother, but he would worry about it at a later time.

After dinner, there was some hanging out and some talking, even some games were played. Board games and card games.

Brooklyn went to check on the twins and they were sound asleep. He smiled. They were so sweet. It had been fun hanging out with the guests, but he was going to be ready to retire for the night. His belly was full, and it was making him feel like he needed a nap too.

"Hey, everyone, I need to take the twins to my room, and I need to go lay down. I'm worn out." Brooklyn stated. "This was fun tonight. And thanks for supporting me having my twins. Good night, everyone."

"Good night." The guests replied as they let him go. He had both babies in one arm. They were tiny enough that he could hold both in his left arm against his body.

Brooklyn soon got his twins and himself to his room where he laid them in their cribs close to his bed after kissing them. "Glad you two were able to put up with all the craziness tonight. It was wearing me out just like you." He said softly to them. "Now I'm taking a nap."

He went and laid down on his bed. He laid on his left side facing the twins. A full stomach and all the fun with others had worn him out. After something like that, with some still lingering effects on his body from the pregnancy, he still tired out easily too. He easily fell asleep on his bed.

A little while later, Brooklyn was awoken from his nap by his babies crying. "Huh?" He snapped awake a little further. "Oh, what's a matter, kids?" He asked them. He knew that sound by now. It was their hungry cry.

"Alright, Daddy will get you something to eat." Brooklyn declared. He had to leave them alone to go get the next bottles ready. They would be fine being alone for a short time.

Brooklyn mixed up the powder with lukewarm water in a pan. Then using a pouring device, he poured the milk into the bottles. He wanted to try to feed both Kenji and Sienna at the same time. He made sure the milk wasn't too hot. Since they were still small, they didn't need the biggest bottles to drink out of yet. But they were certainly growing good on the formula.

Brook took the bottles back to his room after and they were still crying. "I'm back, you two. Sorry it seemed to take so long." He said gently as he leaned over the cribs and put the nipples to his kids' mouths. They both instantly latched on and suckled. Their little hands went to hold onto the bottles.

Brooklyn couldn't have been prouder at this moment of his kids. They were both looking up at him with those big dark eyes. To him, they were the cutest beings in all the world. To think they had been in his belly two weeks ago. But he was more than happy that they were now here in the outside world with him, to be able to hold them and touch them, and most of all, look at them all the time. For now, he was both father and mother to them biologically.

"I hope I can find you two a wonderful mother." He told them. The twins just listened quietly.

The sound of their suckling on the bottles was too cute for Brooklyn's ears at the moment. He would make sure to cherish these moments with them whenever he could. At least the kids could count on any one of the clan to feed them when they were taking care of them.

It was only within fifteen minutes that they both finished their bottles. There was still some milk left, but then, their tummies were so tiny they didn't need that much to drink. The formula used was what the Japanese lady had given to Elisa some time back. It was a gargoyle baby formula.

Then Brooklyn put medium towels on both his shoulders, and he picked up both babies to pat them on the back to get them to burp. Kenji ended up burping before his sister. "That a boy, Kenji." He declared proudly. Then he laid him back in the crib so he could get Sienna to burp too. He was ever so gentle with her. It wasn't too much longer that she finally burped too. "Good girl." Brook gave her a kiss. Then he picked up Kenji again and he took them to lay on his bed with him.

He picked up a book from his dresser. He started to read to his little ones. They listened but also squirmed about. Brooklyn secured them in between his legs before he continued reading.

Soon, he was interrupted by Lexington. "What's up, Lex?" Brook asked.

"Nice to see you reading to them. But anyway, Goliath said that tomorrow night, he wants you to report to him for patrol after breakfast. He thinks you're ready to start doing it again." Lex explained.

"Yeah, perhaps I am. I just still feel awkward leaving my little angels." Brooklyn confessed.

"You're still part of our team. We need you out there, big bro. I'll be happy to watch them for you." Lex smiled.

"Thanks." Brooklyn replied. He knew he would miss them while he was away from them, but he had to be part of the patrol teams again now that his recovery was complete. "I'm just going to miss them."

"I know, but you need to learn to be away from them too." Lex stated.

"It still feels like it's too soon."

"You'll be fine." Lex coaxed him.

At least he had the rest of tonight to bond with them.

...

Jayden had been gliding around the city looking for the gargoyles ever since her release. She had seen on tv that she was officially missing. She was ticked off that she would never be able to show her face in public again. This prize better be worth it.

...

The next night, Brooklyn reported to his leader after he fed his kids. Lex was looking after them like he promised.

"Okay, Goliath, I'm here." Brook said.

"The time has come for you to rejoin the clan on its patrols again, Brooklyn. You are no longer pregnant and have had two weeks to recover from the birth and train. You are now ready." Goliath proclaimed.

"I still feel really attached to them." Brooklyn protested.

"And you're going to be all their lives. But even parents have to learn to detach themselves just a little bit." Goliath decreed. "They will be well taken of while you're gone. It's just for a little while. Think of it as taking a break."

"Alright. So, what am I going to be doing?"

"You and Broadway are going to be patrolling the east side and Midtown area. Just go and do the best you can." Goliath ordered.

"Alright." Brooklyn agreed grumpily. He still didn't want to leave but he needed to start becoming active again. This was part of it.

There was a good chill in the air tonight. Brooklyn was so glad Kenji and Sienna were staying inside. It wasn't enough to make him feel too cold, but it would if it got much colder down in the twenties. Brooklyn was slightly more affected by cold than the others were.

He went to seek out his aqua brother. He found him and Angela near the kitchen area. They had been cleaning up the food from breakfast. "Hey, you two." Brook greeted them.

"Hey, Brooklyn. Where's Sienna and Kenji?" Angela asked.

"They're in my room with Lex right now. You're welcome to go see them. Broadway, Goliath said for you and me to go patrolling tonight on the east side and Midtown." Brooklyn declared.

"Really?" Broadway questioned.

"Yes. Why would I make it up?" Brooklyn stated.

"I know. I'm coming." Broadway joked.

He gave Angela a kiss goodbye before he joined Brooklyn to go patrol where they had to go. Goliath was going on a patrol with Hudson. Lex, Angela, and Bronx were staying home tonight.

The two brothers did as they were told. They flew over the east side first and didn't find much going on there. There were still people out doing errands and such, but also going home for the night. There was still plenty of traffic too.

When they found nothing on the east side, they turned to Midtown.

"So, how do you feel these days, bro?" Broadway asked him.

"I feel better that I'm not pregnant anymore. And I wouldn't part with my kids for nothing." Brooklyn declared.

"I bet. They are little sweethearts." Broadway loved his niece and nephew too.

They had a nice chat before they heard a scream from down below. It was a woman's scream. "You hear that?" Brook asked.

"Yeah."

"Let's check it out." Brook gave a growl and he and Broadway went to go see what the problem was.

When they neared the spot, they saw a big gang of thugs that had weapons and guns aimed on what looked like a female gargoyle! A golden colored gargoyle at that. "We can't let them harm her!" Brooklyn eyes widened.

"Yep. She looks like a gargoyle." Broadway said.

They both let out loud roars to let the thugs know they were coming down.

The thugs and Jayden looked up at the sudden sound of roars coming from the night sky. It scared her at those sounds, but she didn't run. She was in a dead-end alley anyway.

Brooklyn and Broadway were able to scare some of the men away, but there were some that refused to run away and two even tried to threaten the female again with weapons. Brooklyn saw what was happening and he wasn't going to let it happen. He charged over to protect her.

The female was afraid and trying to stay alive. "Get away from me!" She screamed in fear.

The man was closing in on her with the knife. "Freaks like you need to be wiped out!" He exclaimed evilly. But as he was about to strike the female, a red arm grasped his arm and made him drop the knife.

"That's no way to treat a lady." Brooklyn growled with glowing white eyes, then he threw the man into the wall, knocking him out.

Jayden was surprised at the strength in this male. She had never seen the gargoyles up close. The other men had taken off or were taken down by Broadway.

The red male then returned his eyes to normal. "Are you alright, Miss?" He asked. "We won't hurt you."

"I- I've heard about you guys before, but never thought I would meet you for real." Jayden said.

As Brooklyn looked at this female, he saw pure beauty, but he knew he couldn't let himself get carried away in his emotions again. He still had two innocent babies at home to think about. There was no hurry. He had to play his cards right. And he had made too many mistakes when it had been Maggie and Angela.

"It's alright, they're gone." Brooklyn said. "Um, what's your name?"

Broadway could already tell his brother was hitting on this girl. Not again!

"Jayden. Jayden Wilkinson."

That got both the guys' attention. "You mean as in the rock star?" Broadway asked.

"Yes. I'm her." Jayden replied.

"You've been missing for over three weeks." Brooklyn declared. "What happened to you?"

"I was kidnapped and turned into this!" She snapped angrily.

"Do you have any other place to go?" Brook asked.

"No. I travel all the time, and no one is going to want to see me with the way I am now. I have no home and nowhere to go." Jayden said. "I only just escaped my captors a few days ago and just been living on the streets, stealing what I can to survive on." She explained.

Brooklyn looked at Broadway. "She has to come home with us. We can't leave her out here."

Broadway agreed. He was all for saving other gargoyles too. "Just don't get your hopes up, bro. You know what I mean." He whispered.

"I know. I'm just trying to be nice to her." Brook said softly. "Alright." He turned back to the golden female. "You can come home with us, Jayden. I'm Brooklyn, and this is Broadway. Do you know how to glide?"

"Of course. I'm no wimp. I can climb walls too, but those thugs were too close to nailing me before you both showed up." Jayden explained.

"Just follow us and we'll take you to our home." Broadway directed.

The three of them climbed to the nearest rooftop from their position on the ground. Then they took to the air again. Jayden followed them.

Brooklyn felt like this was an absolute stroke of luck. He had two lucky babies at home, and on his first night out again, he and Broadway had rescued a new female gargoyle. Only she had been a former human. Just like with Maggie.

The red male vowed he would only be her friend and not get carried away in anything extreme. If things changed in the future, so be it. But now, it was only the beginning of getting to know this new girl.
