Not much to say other that now our Heroes enter Proteus Inc HQ and are about to meet the Rogues.

So the Turtles and Vanessa traveled through the sewers until they came under a drain, that led into the Proteus Inc Lab, and as the blueprints had indicated, it was larger than the average manhole

"I'd say you could fit a draft horse through that opening..." Don mused as he stroked his chin.

"You think their pouring liquified draft horses down the drain?" Mikey asked

"We can assume nothing until we actually find some clues." Don said as he pulled out a screwdriver from his Duffle bag.

When the drain lid was popped off the four Turtle Brothers leaped out like the acrobats they were, Vanessa still had to breathe in to squeeze her enormous spider abdomen through the hole but she was able to get through.

They saw they were all standing in a clean room, and they could see things to indicate surgery happened here.

Mikey shivered "I'm getting flashbacks of when we were caught by Bishop..." He said

"Keep it cool Mikey!" Leo said sternly but quietly "Hopefully even though Proteus Inc is rich and powerful they won't have anywhere near Bishop's advanced technology..."

Don tiptoed towards the door, he peeked through the small window, no one on the other side just a dark room.

The Turtles and Vanessa went from one room to another and then they saw the hallway, it was dimly lit.

"OK..." Don said "...This is beginnign to feel omninous you'd think in a prestigious place like this it would be bustling 24/7."

"Maybe it's the off season?" Mikey said

"Maybe the regulars decided to take a vacation when they heard those Gotham Freaks were coming." Raph sniffed

"I think..." Don said "...If Judith Noble and Roman Pike were willing to hire those career criminals in the first place they would have taken all necessary precautions,"

The Turtles and Vanessa gingerly enterted the hallway, it wasn't long before they came to a door with the name tag 'Jonathan Crane'

"They gave him his own office already?" Mikey cocked his head

"It's not just an office," Don said "It's a Lab."

Just then, Vanessa realized she was able to smell something about the room.

"I can smell his scent..." She said "...But...It's an old smell, he's not in the room right now."

So testing the door, they found it was unlocked, they entered, it seemed it was a combination Lab and living space, there was a cot-like bed on the side of the room opposite the table with the chemicals and other lab stuff (Don realized this wasn't particurally safe, probobly shows what they really thought of a criminal like him to disregard his safety like that) and a bathroom at the back

"Hey!" Mikey exclaimed "Look what I found! Blue goo!"

On the table was a test tube of the strang blue mutagen, Don went over to the table he also saw some notes written presumably by Professor Crane.

Don read aloud "So far the only thing of note I have discovered about this 'Goop' is that when looked at under a microscope I can see lines that resemble brain cells..."

Don stood back "Well...Thank you Professor Crane for that bit of information that may come in handy, I wonder if it has anything to do if because this stuff his from the realm of dreams..."

Don reached out to take the test tube of Goop which already had a stopper on it, but then Don thought better of it.

"No..." Don said "...This stuff is too dangerous to meddle with yet, we don't even know how it really does what it does."

Taking a step back Don said "It's clear now, they hired Professor Crane being a master of chemistry to try to figure out the secret of this Goop little do they know he's not likely to figure it out bcause it's actually magic not science."

"OK." Raph said "That explains the Scarecrow what about the other two?"

"Well Mad Hatter has his mind control technology pretty self explanitory why they'd want that."

The Turtles shuddered, meanwhile Vanessa was looking around the room and something caught her eye.

"As for the Riddler...Well he is pretty skilled with computers and virtual reality...They probably wanted him for something related to that..."

"Guys!" Leo held up his hand "I hear something!"

Leo poked his head out of the room.

"Coming round the corner!" He hissed "We got to get out now!"

Vanessa was grateful she had just enough time to do what she wanted to do, placing something somewhere least expected as Leo was announcing that news, she followed the Turtles they duced back into the room they had come from.

"Vanessa..." Leo raised an eyeridge concerned "...Why are you giggling?"
"Did you see who was coming?" Vanessa asked trying to keep her giggles quiet

Leo peeked through the widow and quickly ducked back down again

"Looks like Scarecrow and the Riddler." He said

"Good, good." Vanesaa chuckled

"Why is that good?" Raph asked suspitiously

"Hopefully you'll see in a few minutes." Vanessa said

"Well..." Jonathan said to Edward "First I want to prepare a few things than I'll be ready."

Jonathan went into his room and closed the door, there was a few moments of sillence, then finally a resounding "OW!"

Vanessa had go into the lavatory and turn on the sink to cover the sound of her uncontrollable giggling! The Turtles heard Scarecrow roaring

"A THUMBTACK?! SOMEONE DARED TO PUT A THUMBTACK ON THE CHAIR OF THE SCARECROW?! I WAS A UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR, NOT AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER! NYGMA! DID YOU DO THIS?!"

Mikey was beginning to find himself giggling and wishing he had thought to prank the Supervillain, and Raph...The corners of his mouth were beginning to twitch, he had to admit that was a good one, he was beginning to like the Spider Girl.

Yup, the chapter was mostly a set up for that punchline but also the Turtles to figure out what Jonathan is there for and what he learned about the Goop
