Chapter 2

Satoru Gojo knows he can be a bit unhinged and a bit of a troglodyte at times but he's not making jokes in the early hours of daybreak. He's pissed how dare these stinky pestering old-fashioned cowards request a meeting at this hour. He received a call from Yaga to inform him of a stupid emergency meeting about their new find Kagome Higurashi on top of that he's supposed to meet up with her in twenty minutes. The higher ups knew how to tick him off sometimes. They will kill anything that they can't understand or know anything about, but what else is new with these ancient men. As he positioned himself in the middle of the room one of the old geezers wasted no time and asked, "How do you know she won't be a threat to us all?"
"We received reports she can bypass your infinity technique what are the probabilities some or all of your techniques will not work on her if she reaches her full potential and later on decides to destroy the sorcerer's society?" further questioned the old man.
"We should execute her, immediately." Someone else demanded.
Gojo stood there grim-faced "Let me get to know her and see how she integrates into the school. She's going to be a teacher/paid intern. We'll be on the guise that she must learn under me for a year before she can teach on her own. It'll give us time to identify and learn what her techniques and her unknown power entails and if she'll be a good asset."
"We made a plan to follow through with it. There are too many variables we cannot take any chances right now. There might be people who will seek her powers and there is a possibility she could use them against us. Do as your told Satoru take her to the sealed room and question her about why Master Tengen felt her energy five hundred years ago? and where her powers come from? she is no sorcerer " The old man demanded. "You can integrate her after we obtain our answers if it is safe to do so and if she does not comply, she has to be executed immediately." The senile man added with finality.
"I'll follow those orders for now, but I'm telling her the truth about the everything. Ultimately, it's her decision but you are going about this all wrong she might hate the jujutsu world and that will be on you." Gojo replied before leaving the quarters.

It's been about forty minutes since she sat down waiting for someone to fetch her for her meeting. Kagome's nervousness was easing, impatience and hunger started to trickle in instead. She just wanted to get this over with already. She can overlook impatience but not her hunger. "I sure hope I can grab a bite to eat after this disaster." She thought as her stomach made rumbling noises. Kagome looked at the clock by the receptionist's desk and wondered why they had her come in so early.
Her mind was racing with what ifs and possible negative outcomes possibly forgetting about her and when she was about to stand to leave Gojo popped up from the middle of nowhere looked directly at her and smirked, "Did you wait long for me?"
Kagome just looked at him in awe like her eyes were about to bulge out her head. "Did you just teleport?!"
"Sure did. Let's get this meeting done so you can start today." Gojo said confidently.
"Ok then lead the way." Kagome replied as she stood up.
Gojo grabbed her hand and went ahead to drag her up the stairs. "The principal's office is on the second floor. We're already late as it is."
Kagome felt the heat rise to her cheeks in embarrassment. She was so flabbergasted by his action that she couldn't get her mouth to open its like she forgot to speak. As soon as they arrived at the second floor Kagome got her bearings and narrowed her eyes "Can you let go of my hand now?" She tried to pull it back from his hold, but he wouldn't budge. She was becoming frantic now and started yanking even harder like she knew he was up to no good. She wanted to shock him with her purification, but she wasn't fast enough. Before she knew it Gojo had reached out and placed two fingers on her forehead and all she heard before blacking out was his pointless apology "I'm sorry it's come to this."

Kagome woke up in a hazy state as her vision cleared, she started to register things in her mind. She was in what seemed to be a room filled with sutras and talismans on every corner. She tried to move her hands, but they were tied behind her back. She was obviously lured in for what seems to be a kidnapping attempt. She thought bitterly for a moment it's no surprise she fell for such bogus offer. She's so naïve and she should've known better than to trust anyone who exhibited a bit of interest in her. She eyed the white-haired man with a blindfold and declared, "Whatever it is you want from me it will not be done until you follow through with some of my requests." If she can negotiate something out of this she will do so. Gojo examined her for a bit "You're not exactly in a position to make bargains you'll be executed if you don't comply." She glared at him in shock. "What do you mean executed?!"
"I'm nothing but a priestess and as such I would never hurt another human unless they rightfully deserved it. You saw what I could do to those things in the coffee shop. I'd be beneficial to your cause not against it!" She shouted.
She couldn't understand why they wanted her dead other than the fact that Gojo was surprised she could bypass whatever his technique was and there's the possibility they're terrified of her growing holy powers, but it was still ridiculous of them. She hasn't given anyone any reason to consider she could be evil or have any ill-intent. It was a moment of distress, and she didn't think properly, she just acted and did what anyone would've done if another person was in danger. How dare these people think she would be any threat to them. It's preposterous.
"Everything up until this point was a ploy from the higher ups to get you here and assess what kind of danger you pose to sorcerers. Let's not make this difficult just answer these three questions for now and I'll do whatever I can to ensure your safety." Gojo stated.
"What exactly do you want to know then?" Kagome asked without preamble.
"Master Tengen has claimed she's felt your presence in the past. Five hundred years ago to be exact. How is that possible? Also where do your powers come from and most importantly how did you bypass my infinity?" he interrogated.
"I time traveled to the past through the well in my family's shrine. I'm what was known at the time as the Shikon priestess." Kagome answered as Gojo looked at her with disbelief. "I promise I'm not lying. I was able to travel back and forth because I was the guardian of the Shikon Jewel, and I was the only one who could make sure the jewel didn't fall into the wrong hands. Before I permanently came back to the present, I made sure I destroyed it. My powers are holy energy I was born with them maybe that's why I could bypass your infinity or whatever. I know their growing, which explains why you sorcerers went after me. I don't mean any harm. It was never my intention at all to hurt or cause harm when I accepted the job offer, I really did want to teach and help the students as much as I could." She explained further.
Gojo didn't know what to make of it, but he couldn't sense any deceit coming from her. If he can verify everything with Master Tengen then at least it'll make it easier to convince the higher ups that he'll hone her skills for the greater good and at least postpone or eliminate her execution. Based on his knowledge priestesses can heal and create barriers and such far stronger than what Master Tengen has set up to protect the school from curses. He decided to untie her hands and promptly reassured her "I'll try to have you out of here soon. I have to verify your information with Master Tengen and to do that I need another meeting with the higher ups. I'll try to meet with them again today so I can have you out of here by this evening."
"Thank you I would appreciate that." Kagome expressed.
"Don't thank me yet, it might come at a cost." He warned before locking the door.

It's been hours now since she's been stuck in this room waiting for someone to get her out. She didn't expect it to be fast or anything, but goddamn she should've at least asked Gojo to bring her some food she's starving. She decided to think of something else at the moment just thinking about food made her feel like she was going to die a slow and painful death.
After a few minutes of laying on the floor with no energy left, she heard the door crack open. She moved her head slightly to see the individual by the door. "So, you finally made an appearance." She mumbled looking at Gojo. "Why are you on the floor like that a bit dramatic isn't it?" Gojo asked. Kagome just stared at him and the only thing that came out of her mouth was "Hungry. Food."
"Can you walk?" The white-haired man asked as he approached her. Kagome made an inaudible sound, he guessed not. Gojo helped her up and let her support herself on him. They walked out of the room to get some much-needed nourishment in her so they could talk about the decisions made about her wellbeing.

Once they made it to the cafeteria, he sat her down and he went directly to the fridge in the kitchen area where he knew there'd be leftovers of today's meals and grabbed a bowl with rice balls in it and a water bottle.
"Eat this, so we can talk about what the higher ups decided on." He offered as he sat opposite of her. Kagome took the bowl opened it up and proceeded to gobble down the food.
"The higher ups suspended your execution as long as I keep a close eye on you. They don't fully trust you yet, so you'll have to stay inside the school for a couple of months unless of course I accompany you to wherever it is you want to travel to." Gojo revealed slightly irritated.
"Ok." Kagome frowned while finishing the meal he provided.

"Have a goodnight sleep. We'll meet up tomorrow so you can meet the students and I'll explain further the jujutsu world." He said before sliding the door open of the room she's going to sleep in from now on. When she stepped in it, he slid the door shut and she could hear the faint sound of his footsteps as he walked away. She looked around the room. It wasn't that big she had a twin bed, a chest drawer on the opposite end of the bed and a door to the bathroom next to it. She noticed there was a change of clothing on top of the bed with a bag filled with toiletries. She grabbed it and proceeded to take a much-needed shower.
When she laid on the bed, she started to feel the frustration of her new reality. She felt hopeless at the moment, but that will not stop her from getting her freedom back. In the meantime, she might as well gain Gojo's trust and hope she can get something out of this whether its someone healing her mother and making sure her family is well taken care of.
