Hey everyone!
First and foremost, I'd like to apologize for the lack of updates in the story. There are many contributing factors that led to that, such as some personal stuff. I just graduated with a masters degree and my new job is taking A LOT of time, especially since I started a side business with my best friend so it only adds extra on the responsibilities and leaving me with not so much free time.
The second thing, which I consider much more a contributing factor, is the block I've hit with the story. While I do have the ending of book 3 already thought out, I literally have no idea of how I'm going to reach that ending with the state that the story is currently in. The issue traces its way all the back to the middle of book 2, where I believe I've concluded some things too early, such as Connor's death, war with the Wolves, and most important of all, Ben's development as a character. Having him go through three phases of his character development (his initial self, the tortured version and the "redeemed" Ben) all in one book makes me feel it's kinda rushed, leaving me with a very little room to develop him more in a way that will benefit the story. It's also worth mentioning that whatever storyline I think of to begin the book 3 with, it doesn't really fit with the ending I have planned out.
All of that led me to make the following decision. I will rewrite roughly half the chapters of book 2, some more some less, while rewriting some chapters completely. The reason I'm going to do this is to be able to make a more coherent story, and to make a better connection between book 2 and 3. If this was a two-book story, I'd be perfectly satisfied with the ending of book 2. But there lies the issue. The ending of the book 2 seems definite. Ben redeemed himself, kinda, and finally forgave himself and moved on. And that was the issue! It doesn't line well with his story in book 3.
After long time of thinking, brainstorming, and trying to break through the wall that stopped me from writing this story, I've finally came up with the idea of what to do. I will let everyone know when I make the modifications to book 2. Maybe I'll upload them all at once, or maybe in several bigger chunks. I won't spoil the story, but it will be different than what we already saw in published chapters.
Once again, I want to apologize to everyone for a long wait, and also to all of you who thought it was a new chapter. This story is very dear to me, and the following it received really inspired me enormously to work on the craft that I love, writing. I'd hate to disappoint all of you by leaving this story unfinished, so I'm jumping back into it full steam, to try and make it better!
Thank you all for your understanding!
