"We can't give you any guns." Captain Renaud said. "You're civilians and underage."
"We don't need them. We have our own weapons." Xander assured them. He hadn't reverted back yet from his limited transformation, but he was still in control. "And we've been involved in martial arts training for several months now. Trust me, we can handle ourselves."
"Then let's collect Trubel and get to the park. Finding Monroe might not be that easy." Hank said. "Forest Park is more then 5,000 acres."
"I can track and I'm pretty sure the adorable Rosalie can follow a scent trail." Xander said, trying to lighten the mood a little.
"I can track too." Nick said.
"And you're right, I can follow a scent trail. And I don't know if I should bop you upside the head for calling me adorable, which is a word for a child, or thank you for the compliment."
"I meant it as a compliment. Your human form is pretty."
"Is he flirting with me?" Rosalie asked Cordelia.
"No, just being honest. Xander doesn't flirt, dance or do anything smooth. But he kisses like a god and he's got great hands." Also trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"Lucky you."
"Yes, very." Cordelia assured her with a grin.
"Alright let's get going." Captain Renaud said.
"I have to pick up Trubel, she ran home to get Juliette's gun, the two of you can come with me." Nick said. "Should we stop at the hotel and pick up your weapons?" Nick asked, once they were in his Land Cruiser.
"No need, we have them with us." Xander answered.
"Where?" Nick asked.
"Cordelia's are in concealed sheaths in her boots, mine are right here." And Xander reached into the dimensional pocket and pulled out his ax.
"How did you do that?" Nick asked.
"Dimensional pocket."
"Some kind of Magic?"
"Yes."
"Okay. Like I said, I know what Magic is. I've occasionally had to use it myself. Although I prefer my battle club or my gun."
"I know the feeling, I don't like relying on Magic myself, but there are times when it is useful." As they pulled up to Nick's house and Trubel came out. She climbed into the back with Cordelia and Xander.
"You figure out where Monroe is?" She asked, handing Juliette her gun.
"Xander got us the information. Forest Park." Nick answered.
They pulled up next to Rosalie, Hank, Wu and Renaud's cars and climbed out.
"That's your weapon?" Renaud asked. "An ax?"
"I'm well trained in the use of a variety of axes and this one was a special gift."
"From who?" Wu, asked, curious.
"A Buddhist monk who lives in a cave in Japan. And no, that is not a joke."
"And your weapon?" Renaud asked Cordelia. She didn't answer with words, just bent down and lifted the concealment flap in the inside outer side of each boot and pulled out her daggers. She snapped the bases together and twisted and then extended the handles out, producing a double bladed staff.
"Also made by a monk?" Hank asked.
"Yes. If we were hunting a different sort of prey, I'd be using my bow and arrows. They were a gift from my mother."
"Well let's get going." Renaud said. "Rosalie says the scent trail starts here. Nick, you and your friend start tracking." Getting serious, both Nick and Xander did so. They found and followed the trail to a clearing. They could clearly hear voices.
"The trial is over. Bring him forth, let the defendant have his say."
"You call this a Tribunal?!" Monroe's voice could be heard asking. "Well I got a problem with that. Because a Tribunal implies you have the authority to judge. And in order to judge, you have to know the difference between right and wrong. And you don't, because this is wrong. And whatever you do to any of us, will never make it right. And it will not change anything. What is right, is my love for my wife and her love for me. You believe that purity of blood is all that matters. Well so you call me an impure. Nothing in life is pure, it's not supposed to be. So get over it, I love my wife and I always will. And I feel sorry for you, because it's something none of you will ever know."
"Enough! We will take the vote!" As Nick stepped out of the trees.
"Don't move."
"The Grimm!" Came cries from the Wesen
"You're not going to be able to arrest all of us." One of them said.
"You're right. Some will be stupid." Nick agreed. And they were. They attacked. Nick, Juliette and Hank where shooting. Rosalie was untying Monroe. Trubel was fighting hand to hand, being a Grimm, she was stronger then an average human, on par with a Slayer perhaps. Xander was slashing throats with his axes and Cordelia was going for disabling blows, slicing at their lower legs. In the end, they managed to arrest only five, the ones Cordelia disabled. The rest preferred to fight to the death.
Afterward Nick and Xander talked.
"Are you alright?" Nick asked.
"I killed people today. I was defending myself and others, but they were still people. I've killed monsters, I've never killed people. I have to learn to live with this."
"I've decided to trust you. You did alot to help us, more then anyone can expect. I'm sorry for the cost you paid for it."
"I'd never have been able to live myself if I hadn't. What I've done today is easier to live with then doing nothing would have been."
"That's one of the reasons I became a cop. I couldn't stand by and do nothing. I have to try to help, some way. I try to help Wesen too. Most aren't monsters, but some choose to be. Here's what you came looking for, Lufielne's Knife. According to my references, it can cut though anything and it was made for a girl named Cordelia to use."
"Different Cordelia." Cordelia said softly, from where she'd been listening to them talk.
'I don't think so." Nick said. "I think it's finally in the hands of the Cordelia it's meant for. Use it well."
"I will." She promised.
