Leanne felt numb when she pulled her car into the driveway of Clay and Gemma's where she was staying. Getting out of the car she let herself in and then started on the cookies she had promised for the Taste of Charming. Making herself a small drink she continued to work. After she put the first batch into the oven she proceeded to pack her belongings and load up her car. She was half way done when her phone rang at the same time the timer on the oven dinged signalling that the cookies were done.
Looking at the caller id she saw that it was Opie. She hated to do this, but it was for the best in the long run. Her so called mother would end up getting her killed. It would be best to cut her losses, and head to Bakersfield. Taking the cookies out of the oven she put them on the cooling rack, and answered the phone at the same time.
"Hey we need to talk." said Leanne.
"What's going on Clair?" asked Opie.
"My fucked up past is getting close so I'm leaving my job, and going to live with my grandmother in Bakersfield. I confronted my mother today, and recieved a shot to the face. She hit me after I told her I was done with her shit, and that I loved you. I lied about who I really am. It's best if I leave. I'm sorry." Leanne hung up the phone and cried. She loved Harry Opie Winston, but she broke it off. She needed something strong to drink. As she was looking through the cupboards trying to find something Gemma came in.
"Why did you end your relationship?" Gemma asked.
"Because it's for the best. I'm moving to Bakersfield. Almost everything is in my car." said Clair.
"You are not moving. I need you. Who the fuck did that to your face?" asked Gemma.
"My mother I confronted her on everything, told her that I was done with her shit, and that I have fallen in love, and she hit me in the face. What if my dad is violent also? I know I'm safe with my Uncles, and grandma so I'm leaving." said Clair once again being totally honest.
"You are safe here as well." said Gemma.
"How do I know that? Nothing is safe here. I'm leaving Gemma. It's for the best." said Clair.
"Tig told me what he knew, and what he figured out Leanne Kozik. I get everything, and I'm even more happy that you walked out on your mom's bullshit, but we care about you, and want you to be happy. Opie makes you happy." said Gemma.
"My mom sent me to you guys because she wants to shut you down, okay. She never gave a damn about me or my safety she just cares abot shutting you all down. After dad her career was all she ever gave a shit about." said Leanne. "I'm done with it all I wanna go to my grandmother. I cannot do this anymore." Leanne broke then crying and sliding down to the kitchen floor.
"She hit me for falling for a Son. Fucking hypocrite. Dad was a Son before he got addicted to the needle. Everything I said about myself was true, but my name, and my mother's addiction. Not the bottle, but her career. I heard that the truths made for the best lies. I need to leave before I get in too deep or Clay decides to kill me because of what my mother wants me to do." said Leanne.
"You didn't do shit. You saw the big picture before you did anything, and you came clean. Stay. Clay won't do shit because you never gave your mom anything, but the fact that you fell in love, and are happy in a healthy relationship. That's all the bitch knows." said Gemma hugging the young girl as she just broke down. "Let's get to bed. You did great with the cookies." she added leading the young woman back upstairs to her room. Gemma knew what it was like fighting with a parent. She was scared shitless of her mother and loved her father.
Leanne crawled into bed, and just passed out.
Because of the Taste of Charming it was goanna be a short day. Gemma insisted that she take her Cadillac XRL and told her that she was going to take her Navigator to make sure she didn't flee. Leanne wasn't used to driving a sports car, so she was extremely cautious. Pulling into the lot she went to the office and unlocked the door. Turning on her phone she saw that she had several messages from Harry wondering what the fuck was going on. Sitting down she decided to call him.
"Clair! I am so glad that you called." said Opie.
"Harry, you and I need to talk. I disowned and parent, and well I haven't been entirely honest about a few things." said Leanne. She was gonna say more when Tig stormed in cussing like a sailor.
"If that's your mother tell her to go fucking eat a dick. Oh if your father doesn't put down the fucking needle I'll find his ass and beat the living shit out of him for what he left you to. Fuck that. Gemma fucking told everything that went down last night. Any mother who leaves a mark like that is no fucking mother." said Tig.
"Whoa, calm down Alex. I told June that I wasn't playing her games, and that I was done, and that I have fallen for someone. Then the bitch hit me for it. I had planned on going to Bakersfield to stay with grandma V, but Gemma convince me to stay after telling her everything." said Leanne.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR MOTHER THINKING? WHAT'S FUCKING GOING ON!" Harry exploded on the other end of the phone. Alex was pissed at how his godddaughter was yelled at so he grabbed the phone.
"Yell at my goddaughter one more fucking time, and I will beat your fucking ass in the ring." Alex threatened as Gemma walked in after parking Leanne's Navigator.
"What's going on? Get your assess to work!" said Gemma. She looked at Leanne who had her phone back.
"Harry we do need to talk, and I need to tell you a lot of family shit, but I'm at work. I will tell you that my real name is not Clair. It's Leanne Kozik. We'll talk more tonight." she said.
"Your mother sounds like a downright bitch, and well it looks like Tig is overprotective of you." said Opie. He felt bad for yelling at her, but hearing that she was just slapped for no reason from her mother just set him off.
"He says he's my godfather. Listen lets get together, and have a drink or two or three, and talk, and I will tell you everything." said Leanne.
"I'm doing the fireworks at Taste of Charming, and Donna will be out of the hospital for Taste of Charming along with my kids." said Opie.
"I would love to join you. I made some homemade cookies from my grandma V's recipies, that I want to bring." said Leanne.
"I was told some things about you. Tig talked to me after figuring some things out." said Opie.
"Yea he told Gemma also after figuring some things out. Otherwise I would be dead or in Bakersfield right now." said Leanne.
"I want to kiss Tig, Alex, for being there for you, and saying it's not your fault, it's your bitch mother's fault." said Opie.
"I'm nothing okay." said Leanne.
"Bullshit you are my goddaughter, and that is something, and you mean a great deal to Opie. Myself also since you were named my goddaughter from your father before he got too into the needle. Stop saying that shit!." said Alex. He was pissed, and knew that June really beat her down hard emotionally to feel the way she is feeling.
"Babe you are not worthless. You help with Donna, and the kids. This cancer shit fucking sucks, and you are there for everyone. You have such a great, and kind heart, and I say just fuck what everyone else has to say baby. I love you." said Opie.
"I need a drink, but I'm at work." said Leanne. "I love you too, and I'll be at Taste of Charming later." she added.
"Well it's only a half day because of the Taste of Charming. I gotta go, and Bobby is doing his Elvis shit." said Alex.
"Well I guess when I get off I'll go meet up with Donna, Opie, and the kids. On the other thing you know I speak the truth. If Clay gets any whiff of me being a potential rat I would be dead. Thats why I was heading to Bakersfield. For the protection of my grandmother, and my uncles. They are not to be fucked with in Bakersfield" said Leanne.
"You are one of us now, and we take care of our own. Besides even though I fucking hate your father for what happened to my dog Missy, I love you. It was you who always seemed to make me laugh, and smile after Colleen took my girls and left." said Alex.
"I was such a nieve kid back then. After mom left taking me with her she just changed. Focused on her career to the point that she was as addicted to that as dad was with the needle. The house is all I have left from when things were good, and I want to move Opie, and the kids into. The kids would love the pool." said Leanne.
"Do it. I live at the clubhouse anyways. After Missy I couldn't go back there. Besides I love living in the clubhouse due to the endless supply of pussy." said Alex.
"TIG!" Leanne chastised her godfather.
"Sorry just being honest." said Tig.
"You are such a dipshit!" said Leanne laughing as she hugged her godfather.
"Lets head to Taste of Charming." said Opie.
"Lets go babe." said Leannae as she got on the back of Opie's motorcycle.
Once Leanne got there Opie embraced Kenny, and Ellie, and Leanne, and Donna just let them have fun. "I love your kids. I know I'm young, and just figuring my life out, but I know for a fact that I love Opie, and the kids." said Leanne.
Donna laid her head on the younger woman's shoulder and sighed. I never should have listened to my mom when she said to divorce Opie after he went to jail. Now I see you, and the kids, and Opie, and I think fuck, this could have been me if I hadn't walked the fuck away. My dad is the President of SAMTAC, and owns his own garage in Tacoma. I guess I just got lost." said Donna.
"Oh believe me I so get it. My own mother manipulated me to get some information for her, but I refused, and now I see what a selfish bitch she is. Listen even though your mom is toxic you still have your father. Maybe she is not, I don't know so just do your thang. I have no idea where my father is or if he is clean and kicked his drug habit." said Leanne as she, and Donna watched the kids play egg toss. "Oh shit."
"What?" asked Donna.
"See that asshole overthere. It's his fault Opie went to jail. He bailed out on him, and now our man is pissed. Looks like Jax is getting in the middle to avoid an all out fight. Oh see tha other guy in the police booth. I am getting some creepy vibes of of him. Don't trust him." said Leanne.
"Why do you care so much about the mother of your boyfriend's kids? I have been a bitch to you at times." said Donna.
"Because I love Opie, and you and the kids are apart of Opie's life. I am so sorry that the cancer has just been untreatable, but how about we plan a roadtrip to see your father. I figure he would want to see you before. I'm sorry it's terminal." said Leanne as Donna hugged her.
"You are the sweetest person ever." said Donna.
"Yea well Gemma might think I'm weak. Everyone already left to deal with shit head Kyle, and something else I have no idea about. You see that dude in the Charming Police booth? I'm getting major creep vibes from him." said Leanne.
"Yea this dude is throwing me off also. I wonder what his deal is." said Donna. Leanne, and Donna continued to spend time with the kids, and Opie came back and just was having fun with his ex wife, girlfriend, and kids. When it got dark the higschool band started playing, and Leanne was helping out with the fireworks. Gemma had seen April, and told her to get to Saint Thomas Hospital since her ex husband's sins finally caught up to him.
Leanne, and Donna had gotten much closer, and the two were forming a true friendship. Opie was happy because he had his girlfriend, and the mother of his kids along with Kenny, and Ellie. He smirked reading a text from his best friend telling him that the masterbater was back with his daddy so to speak.
