Olivia awoke, and immediately looked at the digital clock on her nightstand. It read 5AM. She turned over in bed to find Barba sleeping beside her. Her heart fluttered at the sight of him. His surprisingly toned chest was bare, his usually perfectly groomed hair was sticking up, and out of place. He was a mixture of handsome, sexy, and adorable all rolled up into one. Olivia fought the urge to move closer to him, snuggle him, and play with his chest hair.
How did she get here? The last memory she had of Barba was the evening they met up at Forlini's after the Delia Hackman trial.. Barba told her that when she was ready to stop feeling betrayed by him, he would be there for her. She still felt betrayed by him. She still didn't have any idea how to get over it. Did she? All she was sure of was that she needed to get ready for work, and she needed to get out of this apartment. Slowly, Olivia threw the covers off herself, and moved.
"Don't go," She heard Rafael groan, sleepily. "Stay." At that
moment, the alarm started to beep loudly, signaling that it was 6:30AM.
"I have to go", she whispered, reaching her hand over to the alarm, she shut it off, and the room became quiet.
"Stay, please, just for a few more minutes", Barba in his voice made Olivia get back into bed., cover herself up again, and turn to face him. "Good morning, gorgeous. How'd you sleep?"
"Fine", she replied in a whisper.
"Come here:, " he said. , gently pulling her closer. to him. He leaned in to kiss her lips, and she quickly backed away.
For your information, I can handle a conversation with my son without you stepping in." Olivia said, suddenly.
"I know you can, but you weren't. You would never let anyone else get away with talking to you the way he did, and you shouldn't."
"Noah is my son." Olivia replied.
"Yes he is, and you are his mother, and you deserve his respect. He was being disrespectful, and I told him so. I didn't hurt him, I would never hurt him."
"What gives you the right to reprimand him?"
"What gives me the right to reprimand him?" Rafael said, almost inaudibly. "I'm his father. He continued, louder. I have been helping you raise him since way before we got married. I know him almost as long as you do. What's going on with you, Liv? Talk to me."
Olivia moved out of the bed. "I can't right now. I gotta go." She ran out of the room before Barba could say a word.
