Chapter 2 woo woo. I'm trying to write as many chapters as possible before Christmas but I'm also busy so hoping to get ahead of schedule instead of behind lol.
their prep teams had gotten them ready and now they were about to be back home, to see Prim her mom and gale. Katniss and Peeta raised there hands and every one cheered. "alright you two let's go to your new house with your family's" Effie says pushing them down the stairs a little to forceful.
once they got to the justice building they put them in separate rooms to meet with their families.
Prim and her mom walked into the room and Prim immediately hugged her crying, "oh I missed you so much" Katniss cry's, her mother joins in the hug and they all cry.
after a few minutes gale comes in. "Hey catnip" he hugs her but it feels wrong, "told you would win" he said and Katniss without a beat says "not without Peeta" gale sighs and asks "so that was all real" "why wouldn't it be" she asks getting defensive, "because you got stuff for kissing him it was obvious" he crosses his arms defensively, before she could respond Mrs, Mellark came stomping in. "You ruined him you seam girl" she started walking towards her when Peeta appeared grabbing her arm and saying "mom stop" his mom turned around and hit him "don't talk to me like that" she stormed off but not before giving him one more smack. "Peeta" Katniss walked over to him and placed her hand where she hit him, "are you ok" she ran her hands through his hair comfortingly, "I've had worse" and she knows, when they were you know... she saw a burn on his chest from when she pushed him into the oven. When she turned around gale was looking at him like he was trash, "ok Peeta we should go before Effie kills us" Peeta laughs "how can you live like this I swear" he said in his best Effie impression making katniss giggle, god when did she start giggling.
Effie gave them a tour of their houses and wow they were big or in Effie's words "comfortable" gale came along but was rolling his eyes the entire time, she's gonna talk with him later.
after the tour of each house (they are literally the same) they all had dinner at katniss's house.
after dinner her mom had her to "talk" in the study. "What's up mom" her mom sighed and grabbed something from her bag, "this is a herb that will prevent pregnancy" "oh lord" Katniss put her head in her hands, "take it once every morning and you should be as safe as possible" "mom! Really!" "Yes really, look you can come to me for any questions and all that" Katniss blushes and she knows that her mom can tell it has already happened, "look mom. That's my business" "you are still a child" Katniss almost scoffed, "the games make you an adult mom" she started to raise her voice, after all these years her mom now wants to mother. Peeta came in hearing her even though no one else did, "everything ok" he puts a hand on her lower back, his silent sign of support. "Yeah, sweetie can you grab me a water please" he nodded kissed her cheek, "look mom, I know you want to protect me but you haft to trust me" her mom had a look on her face and Katniss knew what was wrong. "Trust Peeta too, he saved my life multiple times, remember when we all almost died of hunger and I brought home that burnt bread? Yeah well he saw me outside going through his trash burned the bread on purpose so his mom would make him take it to the pigs, took a beating for it and gave it to me" her mom looked shocked "I didn't know that" "yeah and I love him so can you just trust him and me" her mom nodded and she knew that she was gonna have some trouble but trusted her to back off.
once everyone left, Peeta went over to his place to go to bed, "I love you" he whispered "I love you too" she said leaning in and kissing him sweetly, when he started to walk away he didn't let go of her hand until he couldn't reach anymore, "bye bye" he waved and ran to his house knowing if he stayed for a second more he wouldn't leave. A throat cleared behind her, "so catnip" gale said when she turned around to face him, "gale" "I just have one question" she nodded "what about me" she looked at him bewildered "what about you?" "Us this connection we have" he stepped closer and she stepped back, "I have only seen you as a brother and you know that" she said crossing her arms, he stepped towards her again but this time grabbing her arm to stop her from backing away, "let me go gale" "come on don't say you don't feel it too" he pulls her towards him and kisses her, she is shocked at first then realizing what's happening she pushes him away saying, "what the fuck is wrong with you Gale!?!?!" He moved forward again and she slapped him, "no no, I do not have feelings for you and never will, I love Peeta and if you have a problem with that then stay away" she stormed off to Peetas house wanting his comfort.
he opened the door smiled and said "can't stay away can you" then he saw the distraught look on her face, "whoa what's wrong" he brings her inside "Gale just grabbed me and kissed me and when I pushed him away he tried to do it again" Peeta felt anger run through him and if he knew Katniss wouldn't kill him he would go kick his ass, "what do you need from me" he asks "I just don't get it, he has never showed signs of liking me that way" she sits on his couch, "well it's kinda obvious" "so he still should have told me" she's right and she knows it, "your right." They sit for a moment "Next time you talk to him have someone there just in case" he suggests "you" he chuckled "ok but he will be pissed" she laughed at that too. "I wanna stay here but my mom would kill me. God she even gave me herbs to stop pregnancy" peeta blushes at this "well uhh" he has no response to that. About 20 minutes later she gets up kissing him goodnight then leaving.
when she enters her mom looks at her suspiciously then sees she's upset. "Did you and Peeta fight?" "No no I went over to vent, gales being an asshole that's all" her mom just nodded knowing Gale had a temper, "I'm going to bed, love you" "love you sweetheart"
later that night Peeta was about to go to bed when he heard frantic knocking on his door. He opens it to a frantic Prim, "what's wrong" "Katniss."
cliffhanger!!!! So I'm publishing a second story so I'm trying to get this out as frequently as possible.
