Chapter 2: Bonding
(Just under 10 years later…)
Date: Monday 3rd June 2013
Time: 1:10pm
Year: 2013
Location: Ewen High School, Chamberlain, Maine
It was gym class at the local High School, as one class of girls were preparing for volleyball practice in the swimming pool, including the 'School Reject' Carrie White…
From the moment Carrie was born, Life for her… was Hell… she was raised by her mother: Margaret White, who was a Mentally Unstable and Religiously Fanatical Zealot, who believed that everything was sinful… and whenever Carrie had or hadn't done something like that, Margaret would beat Carrie, and lock her in the Prayer Closet at their bungalow home… because of the way she had raised Carrie, Carrie had become an easy target of bullying from 6th Grade and beyond into High School, especially from her class group: The Mortimer Snerds, led by Chris Hargensen, consisting of her friends: Tina Blake, Nicki & Lizzy Watson, Heather Shyers, Rachel Spies, Anissa Chen, Jessica Upshaw, & several others… But secretly, one of the group: Sue Snell, one of Chris's closest friends, had recently started to have second thoughts about their actions towards Carrie, especially as she had never done anything bad to any of them, which was also shared with the School Gym Teacher: Rita Desjardin, who had suspicions of Margaret, from the way she acted in public, though no one was aware of Margaret's true colors, Rita had a strange feeling about her…
Carrie was standing by the pool, in her black swimsuit with white trim as the Snerds all came walking out in their red and blue swimsuits, laughing to each other…
Sue was then approached by her boyfriend: Tommy Ross, as he embraced her into a chuckling hug, before the two began kissing… causing Carrie to raise a small smile…
"Wipe that smile off your face!" Chris rudely snapped at Carrie, causing Carrie to lose her smile, as Rita to blow her whistle…
"Let's go ladies, In the water, Caps on Please! Chris & Sue, Let go!" Rita called, still blowing her whistle.
Throughout the game, everyone took part… except Carrie, who would spend most of the game standing in the corner, only taking shots that fell her way…
As Carrie was given a chance, she took her shot, but accidently hit Sue in the back of the head…
"You eat shit." Chris mocked as she threw the ball back at Carrie…
(Later in the Changing Rooms…)
Everyone was washed and getting dressed, to finish for the day… Carrie however was still showering, washing her elegant and feminine body with a bar of soap…
As Carrie continued to shower, she and everyone were unaware, as slithered up the shower drainpipe, gripping hard onto the tiled surface, despite the flows of shower water…
As Carrie looked around, it saw there quite a lot of people within the changing room it had sneaked into, it quickly needed to find a new host to hide in… it could have chosen anyone, but would be spotted too easily… but then it noticed the closet person it could find… Carrie, as well as sensing a strange feeling from her, as it quickly slithered towards her unnoticed…
As Carrie dropped her bar of soap, panicking from seeing her soap covered in blood, from her first period… But as Carrie noticed the bleeding, she gasped loudly…
"Wha-What's happening, what's wrong with-…? I'm bleeding? Oh it's my period…" Carrie said in worry, as she looked down to see blood streaming down her legs with the shower water…
Suddenly, tampons came flying at Carrie as Chris and her friends threw more and more at them, while chanting 'Plug it up' over and over, as Chris recorded them on her phone, Sue saw them, Sue not to laugh at Carrie.
Sue then tried to take Chris's phone, only for Tina and Nicki to push her to the ground, as they continued to laugh and chant at them…
"This is certainly gonna make a great lesbo scene for the internet." Chris chuckled, while still recording, as Carrie tried to help as Rita tried to break the overcrowding bullies off Carrie.
Carrie then looked at Chris's phone, but as she concentrated on it, the nucleuses in her right hand suddenly glowed, along with Chris's phone battery until…
A sound screamed, Chris, her friends & the classmate girls turned around to Heather screamed.
"What's wrong?" Chris asked on concern.
"Look up!" Heather replied as she pointed to something.
Carrie, Sue, Chris and other classmates looked up at the Bat… The bat-wings in the change rooms, Chris and her friends and other classmates all gasped or screamed or got down at the bat-wings, Sue gasped.
"The Bat?!" Chris called.
The Bat beat up Chris's head and her phone was dropped…
*Chris's phone explodes into sparks, and falls to the ground*
Chris and her friends and other classmates all gasped or screamed, as her phone just exploded for no reason, or so they thought…
"My phone! You destroyed my phone! You bastard!" Chris growled.
Carrie gasped and looked up at the bat screeching and wings.
"The bat." Carrie replied.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Rita growled back, as Chris and the others went and finished getting dressed nervously, while she tended to Carrie.
"We saw the Bat in here." Sue replied..
"The Bat? The bat in school." Rita replied.
"Yes. They were throwing tampons and chanting at Carrie, and recording it… And we saw the Bat." Sue said nervously, as Rita, looked angrily at Chris and the other classmates.
"Those freaks broke my phone at the Bat!" Chris growled.
"Get dressed and Get out, NOW!" Rita growled back, as Chris and the others went and finished getting dressed nervously, while she tended to Carrie.
(Later in the Principal Morton's office…)
*RING!*
The school bell rang across the school. Carrie was brought into Principal Morton's office along with Rita. When he was waiting… The School Principal: Henry Morton.
"Are you, uh, feeling any better?" Morton asked Carrie, who was now dressed in normal clothes, being guided to his office by him and Rita. "Can I get you any aspirin, or maybe some juice or something?"
Carrie gasped and flinched as he tried to put a comforting hand on her shoulder. Morton backed away, realizing it's not going to help.
"Juice, Really Henry?" Rita asked in concern, like what a weird question to ask… as Carrie sat down in the chair in front of the principal's desk.
Morton sat behind his desk, and Rita leaned against the desk, hovering over Carrie.
"Maybe you just want us to leave you alone." Morton replied.
"Carrie, honey, I am so sorry that- that I slapped you." Rita apologized. "I should have handled it better. It's totally normal for young girls to get their periods. It usually actually happens a little bit earlier. Is this your first time? Honey, do you understand what's happening to your body? Do you know what it means?"
"What? I don't know." Carrie spoke quietly. "I felt something moving down there."
"Oh, honey. Whoa!" Rita sighed.
"Maybe you could, uh, talk to a counselor about that or a nurse." Morton suggested, as he sit down. "Um, what I need to know is who started throwing... things."
"It was Chris Hargensen and all of her friends." Rita frowned.
"Cassie…" Morton replied.
"Carrie." Rita corrected.
"Carrie, did Chris Hargensen start this?" Morton asked in concern.
"Don't say that." Carrie replied.
"What? What Carrie?" Rita asked in confusion.
"The Bat." Carrie replied.
"They saw the bat in the shower room." Rita replied.
"The Bat? The Bat is here." Morton replied.
"Yes." Rita replied.
"That's impossible." Morton replied.
"Honey, you don't have to protect them." Rita reassured. "What they did was unforgiveable."
Carrie merely looked down in trepidation, clearly not wanting to talk.
"I'm terribly sorry about Miss Hargensen's incident, girls, can we get you anything?" Morton asked calmly, as Carrie sat down with Rita.
"Can you tell us more on why Miss Hargensen and your other classmates would commit something like that? Do take your time, or if you're not comfortable, you don't need to answer." Morton asked calmly in concern.
"Sue said Chris would do anything to hurt Carrie, she's been like that since 6th grade." Rita replied.
"I see, I'm afraid I can't do anything about expelling them… but I could suggest 3 days detention, if they refuse, they should have 3 days suspension and Prom Ticket refusal." Morton suggested to Rita.
"Agreed." Rita agreed.
"I-I'm worried that they may be even worse if that happens…" Carrie said with worry.
"Don't worry Carrie, we'll make sure they don't." Rita told Carrie calmly.
"Okay, uh…" Morton sighed in defeat. "It doesn't seem that Carrie is going to point the finger, so Rita, I need you to get to the bottom of this."
"Okay. Carrie, you're excused from P.E. class for the rest of the week. Just take study hall, okay? At the library." Rita replied.
"Yeah. We're going to have to call your mom." Morton replied.
The mention of her mother made Carrie's eyes widen with fear. Outside, the group caught on to what Morton suggested, and they faced each other nervously.
"What?" Carrie spoke up.
"We're going to have to call your mother, Carrie." Morton added in, causing Carrie to look worried.
Carrie faced Morton with horror and shook her head. The water cooler behind her started bubbling.
"I know she's had problems with us in the past, ever since the state stopped her from homeschooling you anymore, but we've got to bring her into this, okay?" Morton explained.
"Mmm-mmm." Carrie shook her head. "No."
Carrie's shaking grew more adamant. The bubbles in the water cooler started coming faster, a cracking sound could be heard.
"Sweetie, we have no choice." Rita explained. "We have to tell your mom what happened."
"NO!" Carrie shouted.
"Carrie. Hey. Hey, you." Rita replied.
Rita and Morton jumped to their feet in surprise. Carrie just squirmed at the thought of her mother being brought in. As Rita gently stroked Carrie's arms, causing Carrie to blush slightly, as Morton called their mother…
(Later…)
Carrie was sitting and waiting by the lockers, for her mother to pick her up. As Carrie was still sitting with Rita & Morton, waiting for their mother, while Carrie was looking at TV, but wasn't sure about what she was about to watch, Rita noticed Carrie's looks on TV…
Suddenly, Carrie looked around at the TV News Announcers. She read the TV 'Gotham pulse all news net. No rain weather on level zis'.
A man, by the name of Daniel, is in the TV news announcers.
"Making news today, as every day, Gotham's own financial czar, Bruce Wayne, rocked the stock market by acquiring several local industrial firms. Bruce Wayne is gone, right, Pandora?" Daniel replied, he turned his head to Pandora.
Bruce's smile in the photo for Wayne Enterprises from 1989.
A woman, by the name of Pandora, is in the TV news announcers.
"That's right, Daniel. In the third hostile Wayne Enterprises takeover this year, Wayne has retained her crown as Gotham's most dynamic corporate billionaire. Insiders' fears of downsizing were realized today as Wayne personally announced over 3000 layoffs. The handsome CEO may not be making many friends, but she's sure making money. Turning to the local weather, sad news… Bruce Wayne was a long time ago." Pandora replied.
"Bruce Wayne." Carrie whimpered.
"The superhero team: Justice Guild. The city: Hall of Justice in Washington DC." Pandora said.
"Justice Guild." Carrie replied.
"Carrie, are you okay?" Rita asked in concern, as Carrie noticed TV's nervous and blushing face…
"I-I I'm fine." Carrie replied, she turned her head to Rita.
"What do you see?" Rita asked in concern.
"I saw him. His name is Bruce Wayne." Carrie replied.
"Billionaire, right?" Rita asked in concern.
"Yeah." Carrie replied.
"All right, you come with your mother." Rita replied.
"Okay." Carrie replied.
As Margaret helped Carrie to & into the car, Carrie noticed Chris angrily, she and the Snerds her phone was destroyed, with her boyfriend: Billy Nolan, while he saw Chris angrily.
"Chris, what is it? Why are you mad at her?" Billy asked in concern.
"My phone was destroyed." Chris replied.
"What?" Billy asked in concern.
"The bat freaks broke my phone!" Chris replied.
"The bat? Are you sure?" Billy asked in concern.
"Yeah." Chris replied.
"Babe, are you crazy?" Billy asked in concern.
"I'm not crazy!" Chris replied.
"Okay, fine." Billy replied.
Chris is angry with Billy and the Snerds, except for Sue…
As Margaret and Carrie drove off, Rita watched them, while still having her suspicions about Margaret… ever since the state had stopped Margaret from homeschooling Carrie, she had not got on well with anyone in the school… not even the whole town for that matter, as Rita walked back into the school…
