Dating with Monster Girls
"Look at the name! Monster! It must be Monster High! And so soon before Spectra actually appeared!" Deadpool went.
"I guess so..." BCFW went with a shrug.
"Is it history repeating?" BatGuy01 asks.
"I don't mind Danny's date with a ghoul not being at the same place of the original fic." Luiz4200 went.
"Aren't we asking a little early? Oh well, let's see who you're replacing Katie with." 61394 said.
"Guys, chill out? Let's see what happens." FP11 says.
"Thank you, FP." NeoMark said.
"You're welcome…" FP11 went before inching closer. "But seriously, is it Monster High?"
Neo rolled his eyes.
Danny had returned home, stretching his arms up. The events replayed in his head.
Lita… Makoto… Sailor Jupiter… wow, three things I could call her. Three names, one amazing girl.
Her height, her figure, her pretty smile, her pleasant personality, and of course, her bravery and power.
The one downside to her was she was on the other side of the world. Still, if he was willing to keep in contact with Sakura and Kula, Makoto shouldn't be too hard even if they don't get together.
He got online and scored her a 9. All he could do was wonder how well she'd score him.
"Worst comes to worst, Sailor Venus will probably step in." He said jokingly. It was then he saw he was getting a call from Tucker and answered. "So, met Mrs. Foley yet?"
"I just know you're taking some pleasure in this…" He heard Tucker grumble. "So, how was your date this time? It had to be better than mine."
"What happened this time?" Danny asks.
"Just answer me first." Tucker complained.
"Well, her name is Makoto. She's tall, strong, brave, fun, and she's got a killer punch." Danny said.
"She punched you? And you're into that? Didn't think you'd be into that…" Tucker said.
"It was Dash and his buddies who got that punch." Danny went.
"Wait… for real?" Tucker asks, sounding interested.
"Yeah… the one downside is she lives in Japan and was here for a field trip. Still… can't say she's the worst date… that still belongs to Cree. Makoto, or Lita as she was told to go by, is just amazing." Danny said with a big smile.
"A girl who can beat up Dash and his buddies? I'd pay money for that…" Tucker said with a joyful tone before his voice went depressed. "She sounds more fun than my date."
"Okay, what happened? Seriously?" Danny asks.
"I don't wanna talk about it. Let's just say the girl I got, Rei, she and I didn't see eye to eye." Tucker went.
"Oh… I see…" Danny went.
Rei… Lita mentioned a girl named Rei as a friend… could it be the same one? He thought briefly.
"Anyway… I'm starting to think you're right about me changing my profile. So… after Rei chastised me for… things I don't wanna talk about, I decided I'll make some changes." Tucker said before groaning. "Anyway… night."
Tucker hung up, Danny raising an eyebrow before looking at the profile for his next date.

With a nod, Danny wondered how he got another girl from Japan but figured it was a weird coincidence. Seeing where he'll meet her, he decided to grab some dinner before bed.
"Japan? I don't know any Monster High characters from Japan. At least, none that I recall, though it has been a while since I have seen the show." FP11 said.
"I know a school of monsters in Japan, but it's Rosario + Vampire." 61394 said.
"I don't know any, period." BCFW said.
"It's not Monster High, is it? It doesn't sound like anyone there from what my brief look at its wiki tells me." 61394 went.
"Who is it? If it's not Monster High, who is it?" BatGuy01 asks.
"The pen name reminded me of Abbey but then I read she lives in Tokyo. Still could be some not well known Monster High character." Luiz4200 commented.
"This is where NeoMark says "wait and see"... right?" Deadpool asks.
"Right." NeoMark said.
The Next Day
Danny arrived where he was to meet this SnowGirl person. Carrying flowers, Danny stood at Café de le Fleur, where he was to meet her.
"I wonder if the colored hair thing is hair dye?" He asks himself, recalling her description.
He tapped his foot, hoping she'll arrive soon.
"Yukikins! Best of luck!" A girl's voice went, getting his attention.
Turning his head, he saw a blonde girl pushing another girl in his direction before taking off.
Walking towards him was a girl roughly his height, with the same hair and eye color as her description. She wore a button up white shirt, with sleeves rolled up for Summer, a brown skirt that was knee length, thigh-high socks and simple brown shoes. She also had the heart sticker everyone of his dates wore.
"H-Hi there." She went upon reaching Danny, shivering despite the fact that it wasn't cold. "Y-You must be… D Fenton, right?" She asks with a nervous smile.
"I'm Danny Fenton. And you're SnowGirl, right?" He asks, showing politeness.
"T-That's me. I'm Kusaka- I mean, Yuki Kusakabe." She went before acting a bit more demure.
"Hi, Yuki. So, these are for you." Danny said, offering the flowers.
Seeing them seemed to calm her down a bit before taking them.
"Thank you." She went, smiling at them.
With a nod, Danny opened the door for her.
"Well, let's grab a bite." He said.
Yuki's eyes darted away, almost as if worrying about something before nodding.
"Okay…" She went before entering.
The room went silent.
"Wait… that's not a Monster High character. Who is she?" FP11 went, speaking in confusion.
"How is she a replacement for Katie?" 61394 asks.
"Isn't she from the monster girl interviewer anime?" BCFW asked as he eyed the girl. "The name escapes me at the moment."
"Huh. I'm neither happy nor disappointed… but still, who is this?" BatGuy01 asks.
"Is she from an old anime?" Luiz4200 asks.
"And who is this?" Deadpool asks.
"Yuki Kusakabe from Interviews with Monster Girls." NeoMark went.
"Never heard of it." Everyone except BCF in the room went.
"I've seen it." BCF said quickly.
"And now you know why she's my weird pick. Because it seemed like everyone didn't know about that series. Interview with Monster Girls, or Demi-chan wa Kataritai, is a slice of life comedy manga turned anime about three girls who are part monster and their daily lives while seeking advice from a biology teacher who wants to learn all there is about Demis, basically half-human, half monster. Yuki in particular is part human and part yuki-onna." NeoMark said.
"Wait. I thought monsters in the anime were the result of something in their genes creating monsters. Last I checked, this would mean that Yuki would have to be an actual Yuki-onna, the Japanese snow woman that was known for killing men, right?" BCFW asks.
"I know what that is." 61394 said,
"So… a guy met an ice woman and for whatever decided to ha-" Deadpool started.
"Keep it PG, Wade. Kids could be reading this." 61394 said before looking at Neo. "Go ahead."
"ACTUALLY, it's more like she's a mutant with a gene." NeoMark went.
"So, she's basically a mutant?" Luiz4200 asks. "Does she have the manga's equivalent of the X-Men's X-gene?"
"Sort of…" NeoMark said.
"So… some guy still had to-" Deadpool went.
"AGE RATING, DUDE!" Everyone else shouted.
"Fine…" Deadpool said grumpily.
"So… why is she the weird pick? From what you described, I was expecting, I don't know… Teadora from the Leyendas series. Or maybe Yuki from Wolf Children if it had to be a Japanese character " 61394 said, making random guesses.
"Ah, see… a lot of people wanted me to put the character Mizore Shirayuki from Rosario + Vampire… but so far, you might have noticed most of the new girls I put were either action girls or characters not afraid to get involved in action. Also, here's another thing about the original group of girls from Many Dates that could've been changed, we only had one anime/manga character." NeoMark said.
"It's true. I had rediscovered Sailor Moon around that time and I couldn't resist adding it." FP11 went.
"So, I wanted to add another. I chose Interviews with Monster Girls because, while Sailor Moon was a longtime, well known series, I wanted something recent. The manga was released in 2014, with an anime in 2017. As for why she's the weird pick… she wasn't named at all, neither were her friends Hikari and Kyoko, which led me to think they either weren't well known amongst those reading or thought they weren't very good choices. Plus, you'd imagine she's probably got amazingly cool, pun not intended, freezing powers. She doesn't… Like I said, this is a slice of life comedy. I also have a soft spot for anime like that. Plus, Yuki just strikes me as the most out of place because she's not entirely human but not a fighter, and her personality just screams "adorable"." NeoMark said.
"And it also helps because… big surprise… she fits the criteria you specifically put down." Deadpool went. "She's not live-action! She's from before December 2018! Come on, people! For nerds who read about their favorite characters, you don't do enough reading the rules!"
"We get it, Deadpool. Please stop with the attitude." FP11 said.
"And recall how Star Butterfly, despite replacing Vicky, felt more like a replacement for Katie. Well, Yuki does come off as a foil for Katie as she's a timid girl who is afraid to hurt others. But, because of that and she's part ice ghost who is friendly with others, she can basically be out Anti-Phantasma, not as loud and not obsessive with her date."
"Interesting." BatGuy01 says.
"That is a good point. Going off your description and the wiki's description, she does serve as a foil for Katie like how Star did to Vicky, you really put a lot of thought into it." 61394 said.
"And I already know what the sore losers are thinking right now." Deadpool went as he got up. "Hold up! Interviews with Monster Girls is an anime that lasted only one season! YOU said they had to have a lot of appearances, at least 2 seasons' worth!" Deadpool went.
"True, but I'm gonna count Yuki Kusakabe sort of like I did to justify my decision with Violet Parr, as in I'm counting her appearances in other visual media, namely manga. It started in 2014 and ran until 2022 with events that didn't happen in the anime… but the anime and manga are all licensed by the same people, so I say they count. Plus, part of the reason I did that is because having a lot of screen time does help with why a certain character becomes loved or popular, but I do see why that can be a handful. Sometimes, a show needs that one season to make a character beloved, like Sym-Bionic Titan. And I feel like Interviews with Monsters Girls was the kind of series that fit that, and I wanted to add another anime character. And if you still don't agree with me, she still fits all of my other criteria, so screw it. She's animated, she's at the right age range, the anime had an English dub so she has a voice we can think of, she's a prominent character with a lot of personality from her home series… If anyone still has a problem with it, consider this my one free "I'm putting them in here for me" character." NeoMark said.
"You're… what?" FP11 asks.
"Did you really write yourself a one time hall pass?" 61394 asks.
"I did, actually. We have 30 characters, take out the 10 from the original, 5 from returning works, that leaves 15… so one of them has to be in here just for me, just because I myself want them in here even if they just barely fit my criteria. I really want to use this character because I loved Interviews with Monster Girls… and also get super sad because I just reminded myself we will never get a second season."
"Why?"
"Because the anime came out in 2017, dub 2018, and more than likely plans for a second season were halted because the pandemic happened and the manga ended in 2022, meaning it's unlikely they'd have any interest in adapting more of it for a second season now." NeoMark said as he planted his head on his desk and groaned in despair.
As he did, BatGuy01 and BeConFuzzled Writer, who both sat closest to awkwardly patted him on the back.
"Uh… there there… Neo. I'm sure the Monster Girls' fanbase appreciate what you're doing…" BatGuy01 went.
"I know I am...though now I have to add another series that ended to catch up on." BCFW went.
"Yeah. I'm sure you've made that fanbase really happy." 61394 said to cheer him up.
"Would you like a jelly bean?" Batguy01 offered to help him feel better.
"I'll give her a chance." Luiz4200 said.
"Yeah, what they said." FP11 went with an encouraging smile.
NeoMark didn't get up, only groaning in a depressed state over not getting a second season.
"So… let's get back to this while he repeats how he felt when other shows he liked didn't get renewed." Deadpool went somewhat cheerily as everyone else looked at the monitor.
At the café
The two were shown to their table as Danny noticed how awkwardly Yuki walked. Her legs were close to her body, almost like a penguin.
Weird… is she cold or something? Or are her arms tired? He thought.
Once the two were seated, Danny decided to give small talk a try.
I've somehow charmed 18 out of 20 girls, so far so good, right? He thought.
"So, tell me about yourself, Yuki..." Danny said cheerfully.
To his surprise, she looked uncomfortable. She had this almost worried smile on her face before looking away.
"Um… actually…" She went, almost like she's afraid of what she'll say next.
"Is something wrong?" He asked.
"It's just...can you please just call me Kusakabe, Fenton-san?" Yuki asked shyly.
Danny raised a brow.
"You sure?"
"Y-Yes. We just met, after all." Yuki said.
"Well, okay but my other dates from Japan didn't seem to mind when I called them by their first names..." He commented.
"Really?" Yuki asked.
Danny nodded.
"I know that where you are from, calling someone by their first name is kinda a big deal. So I'll stick with Kusakabe if that's alright with you..." He said.
"Thank you…" She went, still with that nervous smile.
After a few seconds, Danny decided to try and break the ice.
"So… tell me about yourself?" He asks.
"What?!" Yuki went in surprise before clearing her throat. "I mean… sure…" She went, almost as if she were afraid to speak up. "Well… I used to live in the countryside until I moved to the city and… I have two close friends." She went, all while avoiding eye contact.
"Huh… interesting. And they are…?" Danny went.
"There's Hikari, she's the girl you saw pushing me towards you. She's the one who insisted I do this to help me meet more people while we take this summer vacation with our class for Shibasaki High School. Then there's Kyoko… she's… not on the trip." Yuki said.
"How come?" Danny asks.
Yuki looked flustered, almost as if she were afraid to admit it.
"Oh… well… she… forgot about the trip. She's forgetful like that…" Yuki went with a nervous smile once more, as if she were lying.
"Let me guess, she'd forget her own head if it weren't attached to her, right?" Danny asked jokingly before, out of nowhere, Yuki tried to suppress a rather loud laugh, much to his surprise. "Uh… you okay?"
"Y-Yes yes… I'm fine." Yuki insisted with the wave of her hand.
"Oh… uh… anyway… I guess I'll share info on my friends. Their names are Sam and Tucker, we've known each other since we were little…" Danny said.
"Since you were little, huh? That sounds nice…" Yuki went, almost calming down from her earlier nervousness.
30 minutes later
Their early lunch was just about over as the two kept talking.
"So… tell me about your school?" Danny asks.
"Oh, I do well enough in class. I wouldn't have been able to come on this trip if I didn't." Yuki said before her eyes darted away. "Hikari though… she had to work hard when she learned about this trip. Our teacher, Takahashi, told her "your grades shouldn't suck just because vam-" She stopped speaking, almost as if realizing something she shouldn't be saying.
"Va… what?" Danny asks.
Yuki pulled away, hands out in an apologetic manner.
"Never mind… inside joke." She went.
Danny blinked, unsure of what to think of this before he decided to speak up.
"Is something wrong, Yuk- I mean, Kusakabe?" He asks.
"What?! No! Of course not… just because Hikari made me do this because she thought I needed to meet new people. I'm not saying I'm gay, just that… I'm not so sure about-"
"Fenton-owski!" A familiar voice went.
"Oh no…" Danny muttered.
He turned around and saw Dash and the other A listers approach him, and they didn't look happy at all.
Dash looked around, making sure of something before a nasty smile appeared on his face.
"Your newest babe bodyguard is nowhere to be seen, loser. Guess what that means?" Dash asks, pounding his fist into a hand.
"You are gonna leave me alone for a change and actually do something constructive for once?" Danny asks.
Dash scowled at him.
"No. I'm going to pound you." He said.
"And here I thought you found something better to do with your life, like not skip leg day... Danny said with a mocking smile.
"I get plenty of workouts below the belt..." Dash insisted before a poorly stifled laugh caught their attention.
They saw Yuki, who lowered her hand from her mouth before feeling herself shrink back.
"Oh… uh… sorry?" She went apologetically.
"Oh, your latest date? After the Kung-Fu chicks, the skinny nobody and the blue babe with the water works, what's this one gonna do? Shoot lasers out of her eyes?" Dash mockingly questioned.
Yuki felt her head sink between her shoulders.
"I'm not a danger to anyone…" She said.
Paulina and Star scoffed at Yuki.
"What's with the hair color? Fell asleep in some toothpaste?" Paulina went mockingly.
"W-What?" Yuki asks, pulling back.
"The pigtail girl is cuter than you. Is Fenton so desperate that he'll pick some random nobody?" Paulina went.
Yuki pulled back, feeling hurt by those words.
"I think she's cute… in a plain sort of way." Kwan admitted.
"Like putting a sweater on a poodle." Paulina said mockingly.
Yuki had her head down, her face looking hurt.
"Knock it off!" Danny went, standing up and coming to Yuki's defense.
"Oh yeah? Whatcha gonna do about it?" Dash challenged.
"Hey!" One waiter approached, pushing the two back. "Back off or you're both getting kicked out!" He went.
"Do you know who we are?!" Paulina went. "My papa wi-" She suddenly stopped, shivering once she felt it. "And can you turn down the AC?!"
Suddenly, those closest to the table were shivering, feeling a strange wave of cold. Danny felt it as well, slowly turning his head to see that Yuki herself wasn't shivering. He also noticed something coming from beneath her feet.
Mist.
Unsure of what's going on, Danny pulled out his wallet and handed money to the waiter.
"Here, this is for our food, keep the change." Danny said before walking to Yuki. "Come on, I think we're done here. Let's go somewhere else…" He offered, extending his hand to her.
Yuki, seeing his hand, nodded before taking it.
Upon touching, Danny hid what he felt when he finally touched her, skin-to-skin.
HOLY SMOKES! SHE FEELS LIKE SHE'S BEEN IN THE FRIDGE FOR A WEEK! He thought.
As Yuki got up, the mist stopped.
Once the two left, the waiter groaned.
"And there goes another unsatisfied customer…" He groaned before looking at the four. "As for the rest of you…"
"Whatcha gonna do about it?" Dash taunted.
"Officer?" The waiter asks someone behind them.
Turning their heads, they saw two police officers, looking rather crossed.
"Disrupting the peace at an establishment again, eh, Dash?" One of them asks.
"We were having a pleasant meal when we saw this happen." The other went.
"Ah crud…" Dash went, slouching in defeat as he and his friends knew they were in trouble.
Outside
Danny and Yuki were continuing their date away from Dash and his crew. Now that they were far away, Danny let Yuki go so he could buckle his knees and take a breath.
"Sorry about that…" He said as he looked at his hand.
"I-It's okay. I guess those weren't friends of yours?" Yuki asks.
"Not even close…" Danny responded with a tired voice.
"I figured that… whatever that guy's name was, calling you whatever he said wasn't exactly friendly." Yuki said.
"Yeah, same with Paulina. Sorry for her acting like that, it wasn't cool." He went apologetically.
Yuki shook her head with a smile.
"It's okay, it's not your fault." She went.
Although seeing she didn't blame him for the incident put a smile on his face, Danny was reminded of something else.
"Speaking of cool, where are you staying in America?" Danny asks.
Yuki's face turned red.
"W-What?" She asks, thinking he was asking for less savory reasons.
"Your hand is cold. It's like I'm holding hands with an ice cream bucket's bottom." Danny said, gesturing to his hand.
Hearing that, Yuki seemed to calm down, though not that much she looked as though she were trying to find an answer.
"Oh… uh… my… hotel has a powerful AC! Yeah!" She went.
"Your hotel?" Danny asks in disbelief.
"Yup! That's it!" Yuki went, trying to sound convincing.
"Oh… okay." Danny went, sounding like he believed it.
"S-so!" Yuki went, looking nervous despite her smile. "What now? Our early lunch ended early."
"Well, I was thinking either a movie or stopping by an arcade if you are up for it. For now, this talk about the cold is making me want ice cream." Danny went.
"Great idea!" Yuki went as she turned around and started walking. "Let's find one!" She went, trying to walk normally yet came off as stiff.
"It's that way, Kusakabe." Danny pointed in the opposite direction.
Yuki returned, slouching in embarrassment.
"Lead the way, Fenton-san." She went.
Danny walked alongside her and, while he had a smile on his face that seemed to put her at ease, his mind was thinking something else.
Hotel? AC? Is that seriously the best she could come up with? I've been to the Far Frozen, I've been frozen before myself, and I can make things freeze. There is no air conditioning on Earth that could make someone's skin feel like that without giving them freezer burn or worse, much less making them sick. And that weird coldness coming from her. How is she not experiencing hypothermia? I should find out. He thought.
"Ooh! Plot thickens!" Deadpool went, only to be shushed by everyone else, much to his annoyance. "No more guests at this amount…" He complained.
25 minutes later
Danny had bought Yuki some ice cream, making her feel more comfortable.
The two walked and talked about their lives, Danny wanting to get to know her, and about what he saw.
"An astronaut, huh? That sounds amazing." Yuki said.
"Thanks. How about you? What are you planning to do?" Danny asks.
Yuki looked up at the sky, thinking what to say.
"You know, I don't really know." She admitted.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out." Danny said.
"You're giving me a lot of credit for someone I just met." Yuki commented.
"Well, so far you not liking Dash makes me like being around you already." Danny said with a light smile.
Yuki laughed at that in a light way, Danny noticing how her behavior didn't seem to be an act.
Okay… she's either a good actor or she's actually seriously just a normal girl who happened to make things cold. Still, I have another idea. He thought.
"Anything in particular you can do that you think would be a good way to make money?" Danny asked.
"Oh, my… uh… skills aren't really for making money..." She responded reluctantly, not elaborating further.
It looks like she's aware of this power of hers, and she doesn't want to use it. Danny thought.
"Well, not too late to learn how to fight and enter the… uh… Street F- I mean, World Warrior tournaments." He went.
"The what?" Yuki asks.
Danny tried to think of a cover.
"Y'know… World Warriors? And… the King of Fighters?" Danny went with a nervous smile.
Yuki only blinked in confusion.
"I think I've heard of those… but I don't really see myself in the ring of any kind." Yuki went.
"I see…" Danny went.
"You know, just because I'm from Japan, doesn't mean I know or care about martial arts." Yuki pointed out in mild disapproval, thinking he was making an assumption.
"Sorry, the last girls I met from Japan knew it pretty well. They were the "Kung-Fu chicks" Dash mentioned." Danny went.
"I see…" Yuki went.
Feeling awkward, Danny looked away.
Nice going, genius… He thought.
"Were these girls… nice?" Yuki asks, almost afraid of the answer.
"Yeah. Li- I mean, Makoto was the girl I got before. My first date from Japan was Sakura. They kicked serious b-" He then felt a cold wind.
He saw the rather upset look on Yuki's face, despite the fact that she was looking away.
"I bet I'm not what you expected, huh?" She asks, feeling hurt.
He then had a flashback to the café and came to a realization.
She must activate this power of hers when she's upset… and I just upset her. He thought, hating what he just did.
He then thought of something quick to cheer her up.
"They also kicked his butt. You should have seen what Sakura did to him." Danny said. "He was so terrified, he gave all his money away." Danny went.
"What did she do?" Yuki asks, still not looking at him.
"Pretty much kicked them after spinning like a helicopter, then Dash cried "please don't kill me! Please don't kill me!" Between you and me, I think he peed his pants." Danny went.
At that moment, Yuki turned her head to look at Danny. The cold rush of air came to a sudden stop.
Yuki looked at him as if he just said something bizarre. She had no response, at least at first.
Yuki once again stifled a laugh. It was evident she was trying hard not to lose it, making her look almost like she'd fall apart if she didn't laugh.
"I… see…" She said weakly.
"It's okay. I'll keep my mouth shut." Danny said.
With that, Yuki stopped trying to hold it in, laughing so hard that her knees weakened, her eyes watered and her arms wrapped around her stomach.
Okay, I'm realizing that she might not be with that NESTS group Kula talked about, given that she doesn't seem to be a fighter at all. Kula only ever used hers willingly. And I highly doubt she is some supervillain either since I don't think this kind of cold can cause much damage. Is she doing it subconsciously? He wondered.
It was then he recalled she was still laughing, now on her knees.
"Uh… Yu-er, Kusakabe?"
With heavy panting, Yuki finally finished.
"Sorry, I needed that." She said.
"I didn't think it was that funny, and I was there." Danny admitted with a small smile.
"Sorry… I do my best to hide how… easy it is for me to laugh." Yuki said.
"I noticed at the cafe, what with Dash's comparison with leg day t-" Danny stopped as Yuki laughed again.
"Sorry…" She went.
As that went on, Danny found himself somewhat charmed by this.
"Don't be…" He said.
2 hours later
Danny didn't ask Yuki further questions, assuming she was genuinely clueless that he knew about her powers. After a movie and a bit of sightseeing, Danny would see Yuki starting to be more comfortable around him. She hadn't felt upset or saddened in the slightest.
The two spoke more about Yuki's school, about how people used to gossip about her behind her back because she was afraid to approach others.
"That's pretty messed up." Danny said.
"It's because they thought I was acting high and mighty, when really it was becau-" Yuki stopped, looking as if she were about to say something she should not.
"Because what?" Danny asks.
Yuki stopped in her tracks, looking away as she tried to think of something to say.
"Because… uh… I just… was afraid to make friends. Yeah…" She went, hiding her discomfort with a smile, hinting it was a half-truth.
"I see… I guess people are like that." Danny said.
I guess she knows about this power of hers, which is why she distanced herself from people. He thought.
"I suppose they are… but my friend, Hikari, stood up for me. She wasn't really my friend at the time, but she still stood up for me." Yuki said fondly. "After that, she and Kyouko became my closest friends…"
"That's good to hear." Danny said.
I wonder if they know about her powers… He thought.
"They're really great friends. It was thanks to Mr. Takahashi that I met them." Yuki went.
"Good to hear, Yuki." Danny said.
That caught Yuki off guard.
"Yuki?" She asks.
"Oh… right… uh… didn't give me permission yet." Danny said, scratching the side of her head. "But, I don't mind if you call me Danny."
Yuki, hearing this, nodded.
"I suppose Hikari would probably get intrusive about this." She said with a small smile.
"How intrusive?" Danny questioned with a smile.
That's when her phone went off.
"Oh, that must be her." Yuki went, stepping away and answering the phone. "Mushi mushi? Hikari?" She said in Japanese. That's when she heard something that made her face turn red. "Eh? Buraindodētoda yo! Naze kare wa watashi ni son'na koto o tanomu nodeshou ka?!" She asked, looking flustered and annoyed as her back was turned from Danny..
Danny watched in amusement. He didn't understand Japanese, but figured from her words that this Hikari is messing with her.
"I guess this friend of hers likes to push buttons." He said before his ghost sense went off, causing him to be on guard. "Uh oh…" He muttered. "I best take care of this. Say, Yuki?"
"Eh?" Yuki went, distracted from her call.
"I just… remembered that I need to make a call too. I'll be right back." He said, walking away.
"Okay." Yuki said.
Danny made his way to a corner, going ghost behind a building before flying upward.
"Let me guess, he is annoying, obsessed with boxes, and always getting on my nerves?" He asks out loud.
"WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND?!" A familiar voice cried out.
"Close enough…" Danny muttered.
He flew upward, looking for Klemper when he heard that voice again.
"New girl?! Be my friend?!" He heard Klemper go.
"EEEEK!" YukI was heard screaming.
"New girl?" Danny asks before realizing who he must mean. "Yuki!"
He sped up, seeing Yuki stepping backwards from Klemper as she was about to reach the street.
"G-Get away from me!" She went, not seeing where she was stepping.
Nor did she see a truck coming towards her direction.
"Why won't anyone be my friend?!" Klemper asked out loud, firing a blast of cold air from his mouth.
Yuki ran out of the way, but only now did she see the truck swerve, its backside about to hit her.
Panic setting in, her body generated cold as her eyes shut.
However, nothing happened.
"Huh?" Yuki went, opening her eyes.
She turned her head to see the truck swerving until it regained its place on the road. She also just noticed an arm wrapped around her protectively.
Turning her head, she saw who it was. Someone who looked her in the eye with green eyes.
"Yuk- you okay?" Danny Phantom asks, having almost used her name.
Yuki stared at him, her face becoming pink around her cheeks.
"Y-Yeah…" She managed to say before realizing who this was. "Wait, aren't you-"
"Why won't you be my friend?!" Klemper cried out.
"You almost got this pretty girl hit by a truck. Why would she WANT to be your friend?" Danny questioned in anger.
Yuki heard one specific word he just said.
"Pretty?" She asks.
Klemper, with an upset look on his face, created a large chunk of ice that he held over his head and threw at them.
"I got this!." Danny shouted as his used his powers to shield her from the attack by raising his hand to create a dome.
Yuki saw this and was speechless.
Her eyes widened at the sight of him protecting her.
He's even more amazing in person than I imagined… Yuki thought, a blush forming around her cheeks.
Klemper blubbered loudly before firing a stream of cold out of his mouth.
"Move!" Danny went, lightly pushing Yuki to the sidewalk as he fired his own ghostly cold energy. "Time to fight fire with fire! Or, ice in this case!"
The two streams collided before Danny's stream overpowered Klemper's, trapping the pajama-wearing trouble maker in ice.
As people nearby applauded, seeing Danny Phantom win, Yuki only stared in shock.
"He can do that too? I'm starting to wish I could use my powers like that…" Yuki said to herself.
With Klemper frozen, Danny fired the Thermos, trapping him inside.
"And with that, I bid you all a fond farewell…" He said as he flew above the building closest to Yuki.
Yuki, seeing Danny go, wanted to follow.
"Wait!" She went, following where he went. "Please wait!"
Danny landed behind the store, taking a deep breath.
"That was for almost hurting Yuki." He said under his breath as he readied to morph.
"Mr. Phantom?" He heard Yuki, causing his rings to disappear before she spotted them.
Turning his head, he saw Yuki slide in, ecstatic to find him.
"Oh… hi… girl I just met." He said with a wave.
"I've been looking for you. I've heard of you when I learned about our trip." She went, walking closer to him.
Danny felt himself break into a cold sweat.
"Have you?" Danny went, deepening his voice.
"Yes. I want to tell you something very important." Yuki went, now standing in front of him by 5 feet.
"Oh… I see, girl I don't know. I must be-"
"Why is your voice deepening?" Yuki asks with a tilt of her head.
Danny, realizing he's drawing more attention than needed, cleared his throat.
"No reason." He went before straightening himself. "So… what did you need to tell me?" He asks.
"I gotta know first… are you a demi?" She asks eagerly.
Danny stood there, unsure of what she said.
"A… demi?" He asks.
"A demi-human. A lot of people say you look too human to be a normal ghost, so I thought you'd be a demi-human." Yuki went before a sigh and a bittersweet smile came to her face. "I'm guessing that's a no."
"Sorry… I'm not." Danny went.
"Well… I am. I'm a demi!" Yuki went.
Danny blinked, taking a moment to recall what that term was.
"Wait… I think I heard of them. People born with paranormal powers or abilities… my folks thought they were a hoax… like people getting ghost powers." Danny said, noting the amusing irony. "I just assumed they were mutants or some kind of metahumans or a hoax."
"Well… we're real. I'm a snow woman! A yuki-onna. It's, like a type of ice ghost." Yuki said.
Yuki Kusakabe is a yuki-onna? Kind of convenient… He thought.
"I just… wanted to meet you since…" Yuki went, blushing hard.
"Since…?" Danny asks.
Yuki had a nervous smile on her face, rubbing her hands together.
"Because… umm… I-I uh…" Yuki went before gulping. "I have a crush on you!" She went.
Danny froze up, not literally.
"Uh… come again?" Danny went.
"I have… a crush on you. When I learned about you, I thought you were so cool! I didn't think I'd ever see you, much less need you to save my life, but it happened and you did. So… I just… wanted to say… Thank you." Yuki went, smiling happily as she nodded. "I'm guessing you're too busy for a girlfriend. So… just wanted to get that off my chest."
Before she could walk away, Danny reached out to her.
"Wait… snow woman? Is… is that supposed to mean you have ice powers like me?" Danny asks.
"Sort of." Yuki turned her face away and looked rather embarrassed. "To be honest, I grew up in a village where it was always snowing, so it didn't really play an important role in my life as much as it did when I moved to the city. Sparing you a lot of details, I started to worry what would have happened if my powers risk freezing somebody. You see whenever I feel upset, I create this cold sensation from my body. I later found out that all it did was just cause my tears and the sweat from my feet to freeze up, not cold enough to risk hurting or killing someone. A lot of the guys I met on this service ]... they were freaked out by the cold sensation they would sometimes feel. Thankfully they didn't know it was me who caused it. But then there were those who just thought I seemed odd, and those who found out I was a demi and were uncomfortable around me, some calling me a freak…" She went, visibly hurt.
So that's why she was afraid to get close to me at first, and why she's trying hard not to let me know… He thought.
"But… I met this really great guy on the service. His name is Danny Fenton. and… well, I'm not sure if I like him like that, but I do know I like being around him." Yuki admitted.
With a nod, Danny smiled.
"He might feel the same way about you." He said.
"Really?" Yuki asks.
"Based on what I've seen, you come to thank me and admit all this to me… I'd say you have nothing to worry about." Danny said.
Hearing that, Yuki nodded with a very relieved smile.
"Thank you." She went.
"In fact…" Danny said, not seeing her go. "I think he's-" As he morphed, he just now saw Yuki had already left, meaning she did not see him transform. "Of course…" Danny muttered.
1 hour later
Once Danny reunited with Yuki, coming up with the excuse that his mom was too loud on the phone for him to hear anything, Yuki seemed to believe it. The two spend the rest of the time going to nearby bookstores. Yuki had expressed an interest in picking up gag comics. There, Danny saw her laughing her head off at a few before purchasing them.
She's got one heck of a sense of humor… He thought.
Danny walked Yuki to the hotel she was staying at. It was one he found very familiar.
"Huh… I know this place…" He said.
"You do?" Yuki questioned.
"I do. Remember that date I mentioned, named Sakura? This is the hotel she's staying at with her class." Danny said.
"Are you gonna go see if she's here?" Yuki asks.
"Nah. It's getting late and I'm sure she's on a date right now… that or training to be like her idol." Danny said.
"I see…" Yuki said.
"Yukikins!" A girl's voice called out.
They saw the blonde girl from before, Hikari, waving at them.
"That's Hikari, right?" Danny asks.
"It sure is." Yuki went with a slightly pained look on her face.
"Well… now that I know you're good to go, I'll be on my way." Danny said with a nod.
'W-Wait." Yuki went, making Danny stop.
'Yes?" Danny asks.
Is this the part where she tells me she's a demi, then I say I knew because I'm Danny Phantom? He thought.
"S-So… ummm… thank you. For… being a great guy and a great date." Yuki said with a nod before impulse took over and she hugged him, much to his surprise.
"Is… is th- uh… not a problem." Danny went, hugging her back.
I guess she's not ready to admit that… He thought, deciding not to push it.
"So… you got my email?" Danny asks.
"Yeah… I do. Thanks… again." Yuki went with a nod, her face slightly red.
"Okay. Well… later, Yuki." Danny went.
"Bye, Danny." Yuki went, waving at him.
Once he was gone, Hikari came over and wrapped an arm around her neck.
"So.. did you two kiss?" She asks, eager to learn more.
"Hikari…" Yuki went while feeling embarrassment.
Danny, who was now far away, chuckled to himself.
"She can tell me when she's ready. I don't blame her for wanting to tell someone she just met… given how we treat mutants, aliens and even other people… still, I'll let her tell me when she's ready…" He said.
Once he was out of sight, Hikari was still asking Yuki for more info.
"So… I hear Danny Phantom was in town today. Did you see him?" Hikari asks.
"I did. He's… even better than I imagined!" Yuki admitted.
"Gah! A love triangle with two Dannys!" Hikari went.
"Y-Yeah…" Yuki said, realizing something now.
How Danny Phantom seemed to think Danny Fenton might like her back. How he didn't seem surprised when she admitted her cold powers, something she assumed Danny never attributed to her or even noticed. How the two were equally as nice to her.
"Well… let's grab some room service before Himari catches us and tells Teach." Hikari said as she ran back into the hotel.
"O-Ok." Yuki went, thinking back before shaking her head. "Nah… it's too coincidental to be true. Still…" She said with a smile on her face. "There's at least two guys I'd like to see again…"
However, that caused another conflict for her.
There are two boys I think I like in this town… who do I want to see more? The date or the crush? She thought.
"And there we go." NeoMark said. "So, how w-"
He looked to find the room emptied, save for Deadpool.
"I like it. 8 out of 10 "I'm a staunch Phantom/Possible shipper who is good with this" points." Deadpool said.
"Where's everyone else?" NeoMark said.
"While you were moping this anime likely ain't gettin' a second season…"
"Too soon, dude." NeoMark said.
"... they left this note as they had to get back to work." Deadpool said, holding out a note.
NeoMark took the note and read it.
"I liked it, Yuki is likable… signed… everyone." NeoMark read.
"Well, mission accomplished." Deadpool said.
"Huh… yeah…" NeoMark said, feeling lighter as there was a knock at the door. "It's open!"
"About time…" Deadpool said, knowing who this was.
Special thanks to Flower Princess11, Luiz4200, BeConFuzzled Writer, 61394 and BatGuy01 for their brief appearances. I'd have asked for more... but I was low on time.
This is likely the last chapter I post in 2023. I meant to post the entire thing sooner... but life happened.
Anyway, I'll try to finish another story, you'll know which one when it's up.
RonaldM40196867: Yes. He's here for laughs. Yes. Sorry, not accepting story ideas for the time being.
pokemon fan 1991: Thanks for the suggestions.
cg037, Invader Johnny, Guardian1989, 61394, and ScarecrowReaper: Thank you.
Jebest4781: Wait no further.
616mcu: Would love to see that.
Menatron the Angel of Ideas: Naruto's world is too different to fit into Danny's. That and I'd rather someone more reoccurring.
djinn: Ta-da.
amit . avrashmi: Sorry, but Starfire was someone FP11 and I agreed to use.
cybirddude: I'll consider them, though I'm not making items from outside Xiaolin Showdown Shen Gong Wu. 2. Maybe. 3. Interesting ideas. 4. Okay. 5. Not sure who Jazz dates though, the rest would work. 6. Interesting but I might save the more serious stuff for characters from more serious works. 7. Ok. 8. Ok.
Luiz4200: No.
Guest: It's more courtesy than a rule.
Leonardo: It's a joke... at least for now.
sndWV3: If the character is taken, that's it. You're free to do your own story, but not a sequel or anything. As I told the guest, it's more a courtesy thing. Also, I just don't like Taco Bell, plus it's an easy target to make fun of. (Also, avoid all caps, even if it's for a joke)
