A/N: Finally, we have a long-awaited next chapter of "Adventure Time with Finn, Jake, & Rachel"! Considering Ice King's own character throughout the series and given how she is Ice King's daughter, we'll explore more on how complicated this inverted relationship seems at first glance, but would actually be profound and meaningful. And I think this episode is a good start on exploring that. And by the way, M. Emmet Walsh would voice the Cosmic Owl earlier in this story. I love that voice for him.
Adventure Time with Finn, Jake, & Rachel
Chapter 3: Prisoners of Love
One day, Finn and Jake, with Mille and Callie in tow were sledding down hills with an office chair in the Ice Kingdom and laughing. As they went down a hill at high speed, they smashed off the head of a Snow Golem, who promptly replaced it with a cat's head and meowed cutely. As our heroes went up in the air and fell back down, the chair broke upon impact due to landing in the snow. Jake's bottom end was even sticking out as Jake landed head-first. But it was of no consequence as the ground below was covered with snow and quite soft.
"Good thing the snow's soft.", Callie said.
"Actually, I think it's a good thing Princess Bubblegum made these thought translators resistant to all forms of moisture. It must not have been easy for her.", Mille said, earning Callie's nod.
"Oh, no, our sled's broken! Hey, let's build one out of snow!", Finn suggested as he gathered snow.
But then, Jake started to grow to a gigantic size.
"What are you doing, Jake?", Mille asked.
Suddenly, Jake burst from underneath the snow on all fours, earning laughter from everyone and each other.
"Sleds are for suckers. Just ride on my gut.", Jake grinned.
"Okay!", Finn grinned before jumping onto his gut as per his friend's advice.
Then, the two pals and two babies in thought translators slid down a hill as if they were shredding on skateboards. They even slid past Iceclops, who reached for them but fell on his head in the snow.
"Switch!", Jake shouted before shrinking down and hopping onto Finn's back just as Finn moved the baby carrying harness around so Mille doesn't get dragged across the snow and slid down the hills this time. But along the way, Finn's body started to freeze over.
"Switch back! Switch back!", Finn shouted with a muffle before Jake grew and they switched again.
The rest of the way, they slid down with Finn riding on Jake like before. It was only a matter of time, though, before they slid through a horde of...
"Penguins!", Finn shouted.
They fell through a tunnel with some penguins hitching a ride on Jake's stomach and they popped out of the end of the tunnel. As they did, the penguins fell off and our duo soared through the air.
"Ha Ha!", Finn laughed.
"I'm a flying dog!", Jake shouted as he and Finn fist-tapped in midair.
In the castle, Rachel looked out through the window and saw Finn, Jake, Mille, and Callie headed toward where Ice King was shoveling snow into a wheelbarrow below.
"Oh, no.", Rachel spoke in worry.
Back on the ground, Ice King was shoveling snow into a wheelbarrow with which to make space for a shoebox, which was revealed to contain a dead frog inside the moment Finn and Jake came crashing down, creating a crater.
"Hahaha! Mathematical!", Finn laughed happily in muffles.
"What?! Who dares enter the Ice Kingdom?!", Ice King shouted, approaching the crater.
"Aww, Ice King's here.", Finn groaned as Jake shrank back to normal size.
Just then, Rachel caught up to her father, flying via her hair.
"Chill out, Dad. They're my friends.", Rachel urged.
"Oh, cool. Rae-Rae's here.", Jake grinned.
"You know why we're here? Do you know what 'Ice King' means?!", Ice King shouted.
"Yeah, I know what 'Ice King' means: A big nerd!", Jake replied.
"Oh ho oh! Holy cow!", Finn reacted in surprise with a laugh as he fist-bumped with Jake.
Even Rachel snickered to herself so as to hold back her laughter.
"It means I'm King of Ice! This is my domain! And you're violating Ice World law-trespassing!", Ice King spoke angrily.
"Come on, brother! We're just trying to beat the heat.", Jake explained.
"What's wrong?", Rachel asked.
"There's a big sleeping lava man in our front yard, and...", Mille began.
"Wait. Hold it. Did you say 'lava man'? The one I saw headed toward the direction of your house last night. That was him?", Rachel asked.
"Yeah!", Mille responded.
"And he is so hot. No pun intended.", Finn replied.
"Mmm-hmm!", Jake said in smirking disbelief.
"Wait, wait, no, I mean, not like 'sexy' hot.", Finn reiterated.
But Jake did not believe him.
"No, no, you do mean 'sexy' hot.", Jake smirked.
"Jake, what do you think 'no pun intended' means?", Callie asked.
But the Ice King wasn't having it.
"I DON'T CARE! This is my kingdom. You guys can't just scoot about on my land willy-nilly. I've got rules here.", Ice King scolded as Mille and Callie were now building a small snowman.
"Sounds to me like you need to be cool and chill out.", Callie joked with a bit of a smirk and chuckle.
"What?! I am the king! I am the king of c-cool c-co ca...", Ice King began, starting to flip out.
"Okay, Dad. That's enough.", Rachel scolded, pinching him by the ear and dragging him away.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!", Ice King spoke in slight pain.
"Dad, all joking aside, Callie has a point. You have had some scary behavior recently. And it didn't help that you dragged those poor princesses out of their homes and forced them to stay here.", Rachel said.
"Aw, sweetie. That's the only way I can be sure which princess is the right one. I wanted to give you the perfect mother. Besides, I'm getting older in a year and you need someone to look after you when I'm gone.", Ice King explained with a slight fib.
But Rachel only sighed to herself as if saying, "There is no way I'm buying this.".
"All right. We'll try it your way. But on one condition: either you keep your cool the rest of the day, or at the very least the whole time Finn, Jake, Mille, and Callie are here, or I'd have to do something about it and you're not gonna like what. Understand?", Rachel warned, emitting a pulsating ice blast in her palm.
Ice King gulped a bit nervously.
"Crystal clear.", Ice King replied.
"Good.", Rachel grinned, the ice blast disappearing.
Then, Ice King walked over to Finn and Jake before clearing his throat.
"Okay, guys. Because you're my daughter's friends, you can stay here for the night.", Ice King offered.
"Really?", Finn, Jake, Mille, and Callie asked in unison.
"Yeah. IF... you can survive against these snow monsters first. And a bit of a heads-up. I'm kinda rusty at this.", Ice King replied before raising his hands, which started to give off the same blasts as Rachel's from earlier, only it caused some snow monsters to form from the snow.
"Rise, monsters of snow, and go beat up Finn and Jake!", Ice King ordered, directing them to Finn and Jake.
"Ah, jeez...", Rachel sighed.
"Uh oh.", Jake said.
"Wait. Those are snow monsters? They don't even look monstrous.", Callie said.
"Well, he did say that he's rusty.", Mille replied.
Finn just laughed. And with that, he began the attack on the snow monsters with a kick and a punch as Jake cheered for him.
"Whoo! Haha! Huh?", Jake puzzled, noticing a tiny snow monster slamming its fists on his leg.
"Well, you can't say he didn't try his best.", Callie said.
Jake then picked up the little snow monster and tossed it at one of the others near Finn, causing it to make itself and the others topple. With that, Finn defeated the last remaining snow monster with both humans and dogs the victors.
"Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo, yeah! Aw, man, that was great!", Jake grinned.
"Yeah!", Finn cheered as he and Jake did a fist-bump.
"Ooh, you guys... passed the test. But just to be safe...", Ice King said with nervous laughter upon seeing Rachel's face, trying to hide his anger before zapping ice handcuffs onto Finn and Jake.
"Aw, what? Ice handcuffs!", Finn and Jake exclaimed.
"Sorry, guys. It's just protocol.", Ice King called.
Finn and Jake seemed a bit weirded out and looked to Rachel, who shrugged to them.
The group of 5, and to a lesser extent, Ice King, were later seen walking up a hill to his castle in his wheelbarrow.
"I need a magic back.", Ice King groaned as he cracked his back and pulled out a plastic sandwich bag.
"Trail mix.", Ice King said before he began to pick around in it.
"Sorry about this, guys. All in all, though, I'm actually glad that you came here.", Rachel said.
"Well, what's wrong?", Jake asked.
"Well, the thing is, my dad means well, but he can be a bit of a kook who acts like a patoot when he's angry sometimes.", Rachel explained.
"Well, he doesn't seem to be acting like that now.", Jake said, pointing toward the Ice King, who was digging through his Trail Mix.
"Ick...ooh, yogurt chip.", Ice King said before eating said yogurt chip and putting the bag away.
"Tuck, tuck.", Ice King said before he began to push the wheelbarrow again.
"Aww, man...", Ice King sighed.
"That's only because I'm keeping an eye on him. I want him to be able to keep a cool head without me keeping an eye on him. Preferably without him being frozen in place. Besides, as long as you guys are here, you could save the princesses.", Rachel replied.
"Save them? Wait. Don't tell me.", Jake said as he and Finn had a stark realization.
Inside the Ice King's castle, he came into a room with a jail cell in a room where Lumpy Space Princess, Hot Dog Princess, Emerald Princess, Ghost Princess, Slime Princess, Raggedy Princess, and Wildberry Princess were held captive as Finn, Jake, and Rachel entered.
"I'm back home! Hello, ladies!", Ice King greeted before the princesses muttered in panic.
"Huh? Wildberry Princess? Hot Dog Princess?", Finn puzzled.
"Yep. This all tracks.", Jake said.
"Now, now. I've brought you a baby and a puppy.", Ice King said before he put Finn and Jake in the cage with the princesses.
"Finn! Are you okay?", Wildberry Princess asked.
"W-what's goin' on?", Finn asked.
"We're all prisoners, Finn.", Slime Princess responded.
"Ice King!", Finn glared.
"What?", Ice King puzzled.
"You see what I have to deal with here?", Rachel asked.
"Why are you keeping these girls prisoners, jerk?", Finn scolded.
"You don't understand! I collect princesses because I want to marry one.", Ice King responded.
"Well, why'd you capture seven of them if you just want to marry one?", Jake asked.
"First off, I'm collecting them all first to be sure I make the right choice. You're both too young to understand, but marriage is a serious thing and lasts forever. Because of that, I wanna find the perfect mother for Rachel. You can't just rush into it, you know? And secondly, it's more like six. I'm not sure Ghost Princess counts. I can't even hold her with my love mitts.", Ice King explained.
"Dad, I really appreciate what you're trying to do for me, here, but...", Rachel began before Finn piped up.
"Ice King, don't do this. Just let the girls go. They don't want to be here.", Finn said.
"Of course they do! I would have killed them already if they didn't want to be here. Right ladies? Zzhp Zzhp.", Ice King retorted, shooting ice lightning from his fingers.
Nervous, the princesses sadly nodded.
"He meant they didn't want to be in this castle specifically, Dad.", Rachel scolded.
"Huh. Could've fooled me.", Ice King responded.
Finn sighed and turned to the princesses.
"Don't worry, princesses. I pledge that Jake, big sis Mille, Callie, and I will protect each and everyone of you and furthermore I see all of you happily married to whatever sweet thing y'all want to be married to!", Finn assured as the princesses started to be lifted up in joy.
"Yay!", Slime Princess grinned before Ice King grumbled, earning Rachel's glare at him, earning his nervous laughter again.
"Rad! All I need is something to knock the Ice King's crown off with.", Finn said before he began to search through his backpack.
"Binoculars... toothbrush...water bottle...rope... sweater... trail mix...", Finn said worriedly.
Eventually, Finn found the one item he was looking for.
"My flute!", Finn shouted as he pulled it out and played it in spite of its broken, bandaged state.
He then threw it at Ice King, and it fell apart before it could get out of the cell.
"My flute!", Finn panicked.
"Aw, nuts, dude! You broke it when we tried picking the lock to that sad ogre's heart!", Jake stated.
"Darn it!", Finn exclaimed in frustration.
In response, Ice King laughed and did a little dance, even slapping his buttocks for 1 second, much to Rachel's chagrin.
"Nice try, boy! Princesses, did you see? Did you see Finn fail?", Ice King asked giddily, earning Rachel's growl at him.
"Yeesh. Tough crowd.", Ice King said, uneased by her look.
"Well, so much for that idea. What now?", Mille asked.
"Don't worry, guys. I'll get us out of here with Key Hand! Hah-hah!", Jake exclaimed as he stretched his hand into a key hand.
"Oh, yeah. Why didn't we think of that?", Callie asked.
"Oh, no you won't!", Ice King shouted.
"DAD, NO!", Rachel shouted.
She managed to stop Ice King from freezing Jake, but in doing so, she accidentally froze Jake from the neck down.
"Jake!", Finn shouted.
"Sorry, Jake! Are you okay?", Rachel asked.
"I... I'm okay.", Jake replied, frozen.
"Ice King! You better either set us free or come in here and fight me 'cause otherwise I'm gonna FLIP OUT!", Finn roared.
Enraged, Finn flailed his arms and legs at the Ice King through the bars with less than success as he didn't even touch him.
"Oh, are you trying to hit me? Well, excuse me because I have to go potty in the bathroom.", Ice King fibbed while going to the bathroom.
"ICE KING!", Finn roared, trying to break the bars now.
"Finn, stop! Just flailing around like that isn't helping anyone!", Rachel urged, trying to calm him down.
"She's right, Finn!", Jake called, finally getting Finn to calm down.
"Huh? Jake, you alright?", Finn asked.
"Sorry about that misfire back there.", Rachel apologized sheepishly with a nervous giggle.
"I'm fine, Rae-Rae.", Jake assured.
"Now, will you please calm down and tend to the princesses?", Callie asked.
"Yeah. They've been through enough already.", Mille added.
"Oh my gosh. I'm sorry, princesses. Slime Princess, are you alright?", Finn asked.
"He's held us here for weeks, questioning us about our favorite sports and quirky behavior. I've tried to tell him as little as possible.", Slime Princess explained as Emerald princess brought the total number of tallies up to 23 days.
"I understand. And, Lumpy Space Princess, how do you fare?", Finn asked.
"I'm bored, and I'm not having any fun.", LSP replied.
Suddenly, Ice King entered.
"What? Not having any fun? But last night I read you the story of 'Baby Whatsit and the Bottle Prince.'.", Ice King said in surprise.
"Dad, first off, that's called, 'Baby Whoozlefut & the Wuttlebugs', And second, that may fly for little babies, but for grown-up princesses? Not so much.", Rachel explained.
"Rae-Rae's right. That wasn't fun. That was lame.", LSP agreed.
"Other princesses, do you feel the same way?", Ice King asked before the princesses mumbled in agreement.
"He really doesn't know how to entertain them.", Rachel explained.
"Hey! I do, too, know how to entertain them! Here, watch. I'll show you. We'll have some fun. Fun's my middle name.", Ice King stated as he went to his electric piano and played a tune, humming along with it.
"I'm not so sure.", Rachel said.
"Oh, ye of little beard. Have a little faith in your old man.", Ice King grinned before turning to Wildberry Princess.
"Here, now, Wildberry Princess. I need you to play this.", Ice King said as he put the piano by the cell.
"I don't know how.", Wildberry Princess replied.
"Well, come here, I'll teach you. Put your hand through the bars, atta princess, and uh...", Ice King said.
He then guided Wildberry Princess' hand to play the tune.
"I don't think I can.", Wildberry princess said.
But very soon, Ice King lost his temper. He raised his hands mid-level to his face and began emitting powerful ice orbs.
"PLAY IT OR I'LL SQUISH YOU INTO JUICE!", Ice King threatened.
"Oh, dear...!", Wildberry Princess whimpered.
"Leave her alone, Ice King!", Finn urged.
But Rachel was more angry as she glared just as angrily, preparing the same ice blasts at him.
"DAD...!", Rachel glared, spooking even Ice King.
"Oop! Uh, I mean, uh... Just play it like I showed you.", Ice King encouraged.
Cautiously, Wildberry Princess plays the tune. And just like that, Ice King's back in a good mood.
"Yeah, keep playing it. Now, everyone pick up an instrument and play it. Oh, this is going to be so much fun!", Ice King beamed.
But Finn growled.
"Well, I did tell you that he's a kook that acts like a patoot when he gets angry sometimes.", Rachel explained.
"Gonna ignore that!", Ice King called as he went to his drums.
Then, he began going into a drum solo out of key with the music the princesses are playing.
"Uh, maybe it'd be better without the music?", Rachel guessed as Finn looked around and pressed his hand against his chin.
"What are you thinking, Finn?", Jake asked.
"I've almost devised a plan. I'm gonna let him drum till' I've finalized the details in my mind.", Finn whispered.
"Sweet.", Jake grinned.
"As long as it doesn't hurt him too bad.", Rachel said.
Meanwhile, Ice King continued to drum until he went full throttle, pushed the drums apart, and laughed giddily.
"Oh, that was fun!", Ice King grinned.
After a moment, Finn spoke to the Ice King.
"Ah! It was fun! Hey, you should get some more fun stuff.", Finn suggested.
"You're right! Good idea, Finn.", Ice King agreed, starting to leave the room.
"'Good idea,' indeed.", Finn said to himself.
"I hope they think I'm fun.", Ice King said to himself.
Once the coast was clear, Finn turned to the princesses as Rachel joined in.
"Alright. I've got a plan on how to get out of here. First everyone needs to be dancing and laughing and saying fun stuff like 'Whoopee'! Okay, when the Ice King comes back, everyone play it up, like we want him to come inside the jail and party with us and when he steps inside, ZAP! you're gonna freeze the tar out of him with these, Rae-Rae, while you all take care of Jake. Everyone on board with this?", Finn asked, gesturing to Rachel's hands.
The princesses mumbled in agreement.
"Sweet! Nice plan, dude!", Jake grinned.
"That might actually work.", Rachel agreed.
But Lumpy Space Princess wasn't afraid to speak her mind.
"I think if everyone's saying 'whoopee', the plan won't work 'cause he'll know we're faking it.", LSP explained.
"Uh, good point, Lumpy Space Princess.", Finn said.
"So, what would you do?", Rachel asked.
"I'm gonna say something fun like, 'Oh yeah, I'm having a fun time! Oh my gosh, probably the best time I've ever had in my entire life!',", LSP said.
"Actually, here's a little party-starter I came up with. Courtesy of LSP, herself.", Rachel grinned.
"Wait. You don't mean...", Finn said in realization.
"Yes. Princesses, check it.", Rachel said before placing her hands on the tiara.
"Lumpy.", Rachel said before her body turned lumpy all over, started floating, and went completely lumpy right before their eyes.
"Ta-da!", Lumpy Rachel grinned.
"Oooh...!", the princesses said in awe.
"Oh... my... glob! You're using those lumps again, girl!", LSP said excitedly.
"Hah! You're glob-darn right I am.", Lumpy Rachel grinned, not afraid to flaunt it.
"Whoo-oo! Shake it, Lumpy Rachel!", Jake grinned as everyone else was starting to get excited.
"See? I told you it's a party-starter.", Lumpy Rachel grinned.
Just then, Ice King reentered the room with a board game.
"Make way for the fun tray! Whoa, what's happening?", Ice King puzzled upon seeing everyone in the jail cell partying with Lumpy Rachel.
"Ahh, to quote Lumpy Finn, 'Oh, yeah! Being lumpy is the best!'.", Lumpy Rachel said in the best lumpy imitation she could use in her own voice.
"Way to get in touch with your lumps, babe!", LSP said excitedly.
"Haha! So good! Sooo good!", Jake grinned.
"The most fun in the world!", Finn cheered.
"What is this? And you, LSP twin. Who are you and what have you done with my daughter?", Ice King puzzled.
"Dad, it's me. Rachel.", Lumpy Rachel responded in her normal voice, surprising Ice King.
"Whaaaaaaaaaat?", Ice King asked in surprise.
"Surprised?", Lumpy Rachel giggled.
"But how?", Ice King asked,
"Well, there was that incident when LSP bit me and Jake by accident, but I managed to get along with them. Plus, my tiara helps manages them.", Lumpy Rachel replied.
"Well, I didn't know that. So, what's going on?", Ice King asked.
"We're having fun! Whoopee!", Finn replied.
"Because I left the room?", Ice King asked.
"Because they like it here. Because they like you. Because you're a really fun guy!", Jake said.
"I don't get this.", Ice King puzzled.
"He's not buying it. Dance harder.", Finn whispered.
Then, everyone danced faster.
"Come on in here and party.", LSP offered.
"Wanna dance with us, Ice King? Come on!", Finn invited.
"Me? You want to dance with me?", Ice King asked,
"Oh yeah! Whoo! Woohoo!", LSP whooped excitedly.
Starting to get eager, Ice King dropped the board game.
"Wow!", Ice King said before he opened the cell door and walked in.
"Yes! Yes! Whoopee!", Ice King cheered.
"Sorry about this, Dad. Now, Finn!", Rachel shouted as she then turned back to normal.
"Huh? What'd you say?", Ice King puzzled before Finn jump kicked him and the princesses ran out of the room whilst carrying Jake.
"Wait, no! Don't leave!", Ice King panicked, shooting ice lightning at Emerald Princess, but she avoided it.
"I'LL KILL YOU ALL!", Ice King threatened with a roar.
"Donking kook resisting arrest! Boom!", Rachel shouted, freezing Ice King from the neck down.
"All right, Finn. At ease. The situation's neutralized.", Rachel sighed.
"Oh, cool.", Finn said before Rachel walked up to her father.
"For the record, that's for making me freeze Jake.", Rachel scolded.
"Why are you doing this? Everyone was finally warming up to me.", Ice King said.
"No! That is not the case! You're nuts, man! And I don't know how to help you like Rachel does! Probably because I'm just a simple dude. So maybe you should talk to someone with more life experience, like Rae-Rae. Or even Jake!", Finn shouted, gesturing to him.
Jake was being ice picked free by Hot Dog Princess and Wildberry Princess as he heard what was going down.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Finn, what are you doing? Don't dump the Ice King on me!", Jake said while grabbing his baby harness with Callie in it.
"Dad, like I said before. I appreciate what you're doing for me, but you've gotta get it in your head. Trying to find me the perfect mother by putting princesses in jail is wrong.", Rachel said as Finn put back his own baby harness with Mille in it.
Enraged at the sight of Finn, Ice King jumped up, breaking out of Rachel's ice.
"Bah! Finn, you just ruined my chances with 5 or 6 potential wives! For that you will...!", Ice King shouted, beginning to cast his ice powers on him.
But before he could do so, let alone finish, Finn punched him in the beard.
"Ahh! Ohh! Oh, my beard.", Ice King winced before Finn roundhouse kicked him into a wall where his crown fell off and he lost consciousness, making Rachel inhale sharply out of concern.
"I'm sorry, Dad...", Rachel sighed.
"Sorry about your Dad, Rae-Rae.", Mille apologized.
"You gonna be okay?", Finn asked.
"Yeah. I'll catch up with you guys later, okay?", Rachel assured.
"All right...", Finn said before he walked away, carrying Mille.
Rachel then got close to Ice King's unconscious body and knelt to it.
In a dream Ice King is having, both he and Rachel are flying through space (although in different spots), both naked and while Ice King is covered by his beard, Rachel is covered by her hair, both front and back.
"Why do people not like me? Is it because I'm a magic user? Or is my beard too shaggy? I try so hard to be a good husband for girls. What's wrong with me?", Ice King thought to himself.
"Where did things get so topsy-turvy? Since when does a daughter become a mother to her father? And why does he drive me nuts? I tried so hard to keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't cause any trouble, Mom... Where did I go wrong?", Rachel thought to himself.
Suddenly, Ice King and Rachel bumped into each other. When they recovered, they saw each other in the nude.
"AAAH!", Rachel and Ice King shouted.
"Dad?!", Rachel exclaimed.
"Rae-Rae?!", Ice King said.
"What are you doing here?! And why are you naked?!", the two said in unison before suddenly, the Cosmic Owl appeared.
"Hoo. Yall're dreamin' at the same time.", the Cosmic Owl replied.
"Whoa. Us? Dreaming at the same time?", Rachel asked.
"I know. It's mathematical...", Ice King said.
"But how are we doing it?", Rachel asked.
"Because you two are closely related. Like a couple of dogs I know.", the Cosmic Owl answered.
"Huh.", Rachel said.
"Rae-Rae, let me tell you somethin'. You're a sweet gal. And always will be. But you got the potential to command powers stronger than you'd ever know now.", the Cosmic Owl said.
"Whoa...", Rachel said in awe.
"And you, I.K.? You may be a sociopath, but as long as your daughter's with ya, you can be taught right.", the Cosmic Owl said.
"Okay.", Ice King said.
"How do you know all this? And who are you?", Rachel asked.
"I am... the Cosmic Owl.", the Cosmic Owl introduced.
"Cosmic Owl?", Ice King asked before laughing.
"I know. You're probably a-a big nerd! Why don't you try being cool like us?", Ice King said before flying away, laughing.
Rachel then turned to the Cosmic Owl.
"Well, when in Rome...", Rachel said before flying after her father with a light giggle.
"Wait up, Dad!", Rachel called.
"You're changin', Rae-Rae. And that's good...", the Cosmic Owl said in a cool tone before disappearing as Rachel caught up to her father and hugged him just as he hugged her.
"So, where to, Dad?", Rachel asked.
"Anywhere we're together..., Rachel.", Ice King responded.
Just then, the two regained consciousness and were being tickled by penguins.
"Star dust is so ticklish!", Ice King said, laughing until the two opened their eyes.
"Huh?", Rachel puzzled.
"What happened? Princesses?", Ice King asked.
"That was weird... Dad?", Rachel asked.
"Huh?", Ice King puzzled.
"I think that Cosmic Owl just talked to us.", Rachel said.
"Wow. Really?", Ice King asked.
"Oh, yeah.", Rachel responded.
"Wow. Now, that's cray-cray. I wish we could have dreams like that again.", Ice King said, making Rachel blush in embarrassment.
"I don't know about that. But I do know one thing. You have plenty of time to try, 'cause as of right now, you're grounded for the rest of the night.", Rachel scolded.
"Ohhh...", Ice King groaned.
Suddenly, he realized what she just said.
"Wait. Did you say for the rest of the night? I thought it'd be longer than that.", Ice King said.
"Well, you did cause some trouble, but luckily, I was able to get them back in a good mood for a time. And there's that dream we had. So, who knows? Maybe you could have that dream again. Just... preferably not with me in it this time.", Rachel said before flying away through the window to catch up to Finn and the others.
Ice King then took off his crown and looked at it while having a look of discovery etched on his face.
"You can be taught right, I. K.. You can be taught right...", Ice King said to himself.
Then, it faded to show Rachel flying in the air outside the Ice Kingdom and looking toward the moon and stars.
"Huh...", Rachel said to herself before noticing a big storm coming nearby.
"Whoa. Looks like a storm's about to hit tonight.", Rachel guessed before overhearing cheering nearby.
When she caught up, Jake was carrying Finn and the princesses on his back and everyone was cheering happily just as Rachel caught up.
"Oh, hey, Rae-Rae. You finally caught up.", Jake grinned.
"Yeah. It took a while.", Rachel grinned.
"Thank you, Finn, Rachel.", Slime Princess thanked.
Finn then picked her up.
"You're welcome, Slime Princess!", Finn and Rachel responded.
"And thank you guys for helping me sort things out with Dad.", Rachel grinned.
"Hey. It's the least we could do.", Finn responded.
"And remember when you vowed to marry us to the thing of our choosing?", Slime Princess asked.
"Yeah...", Finn responded.
"So, what?", Rachel asked.
"Well, I'd like to marry you.", Slime Princess responded lovingly.
This left Rachel, Jake, and everyone else "Ooooh'ing" while Finn got awkward.
"Oh, heh heh, well how 'bout that...", Finn began before whispering to Jake.
"Jake, help me!", Finn whispered.
"Oh, eh... Slime Princess, you shouldn't marry Finn. He pees his pants constantly. All the time.", Jake fibbed, making the other Princesses shocked in disgust.
"Ewww!", the princesses reacted.
"Oh, gross! Put me down! Put me down!", Slime Princess demanded in disgust.
"Heh heh, I'm sorry. Jake!", Finn scolded before angrily grunting.
Jake and Rachel laughed together.
"Come on, Jake. That's not true and you know it.", Rachel said.
"It isn't?", Jake puzzled.
"No, Jake. it isn't. And don't pretend otherwise. Besides, even if that's true, that's nothing compared to the dream I had.", Rachel esponded.
"Really? What dream did you have?", Finn asked in amazement.
"Yeah, Rae-Rae. Come on, tell us.", Jake urged as he walked away past the ice mountains.
"Nah. Hard pass.", Rachel refused before Jake groaned impatiently, no one knowing that a small vampire bat flew into the air in astonishment.
"Rae-Rae?", the bat spoke in a feminine voice before flying after Finn, Jake, and Rachel.
Then, the Adventure Time logo appeared and the sword etched itself through the word, "Time".

Finn: What time is it?
Singer: "FINN TIME!" Meet the boy with the awesome hat!
He's righteous, heroic, and totally...!
Finn: Rad! I'll slay anything that's evil. And that's my deal.
Singer: Evil's no good, so we know how you feel

Jake: Whoo! I'd rather be dancin' with babes.
Singer: You gotta admit, this dude's totally tough!
