Adventure Time with Finn, Jake, & Rachel
Chapter 9: The Enchiridion
One day, all of the Candy People, along with Finn, Jake (who were carrying Mille and Callie), and Rachel were dancing in the Candy Kingdom.
"CANDY PARTY!", Finn and Rachel shouted in unison.
"Jake! This party is so crazy!", Finn commented.
"Yeah. I knew Mille and Callie being able to grow up back to normal is good news, but this is nuts!", Rachel added.
"I know, guys! I know!", Jake agreed with hearty laughter.
"So, Finn... Do you have a girlfriend?", the 1st Gumdrop lass asked.
"Oh, my gosh! I can't believe you just said that.", the 2nd Gumdrop Lass reacted.
Nearby, the Punch Bowl laughed as he danced around.
"What a wonderful, marvelous party!", the Punch Bowl beamed.
Meanwhile, Cinnamon Bun was nearby, daring himself to do what was considered impossible.
"Okay. I'm gonna do it. Okay-okay-okay. Everyone watch! I'm gonna do a flip!", Cinnamon Bun called.
But in trying to do a flip, Cinnamon Bun stumbled backward and hit his head on a tower wall, cracking it.
"Oh, no!", Cinnamon Bun groaned.
Little did he know that the crack streaked upward toward the balcony where Princess Bubblegum was dancing. When the balcony came apart, the tower crumbled and Princess Bubblegum fell down with a scream, attracting Finn and Rachel's attention.
"Oh, no! Bonnie!", Rachel shouted.
"Princess Bubblegum's in trouble!", Finn shouted to himself.
Hurriedly, Rachel grabbed Finn and flew towards the tower where Finn spotted Cinnamon Bun.
"CB, can you watch Mille for a little bit?", Finn asked, placing Mille on him.
"Okay.", Cinnamon Bun responded.
"Okay, Finn. I'm gonna count to three. Ready?", Rachel asked.
"Ready.", Finn nodded.
"One..., Two... THREE!", Rachel shouted, launching Finn toward Bubblegum, who was still screaming as she still fell.
Finn dove towards Bubblegum and caught her just a few feet above the ground.
"Safe!", Rachel shouted as if she was the umpire.
Naturally, the Candy People gasped and murmured in concern for their princess.
"Please! Calm yourselves, my people. I am safe! Oh, thank you, Finn, Rae-Rae. You truly are my heroes this day.", Bubblegum grinned.
"Cool.", Finn grinned.
"Well, you were in trouble. We couldn't just let you fall.", Rachel responded.
"Hero... Hmmm... Heeeeerroooo... Hey, I just thought of something!", Bubblegum said.
"Uhh... What'd you think of?", Finn asked.
"I'll show you. Come on! We'll go through my secret entrance.", Bubblegum said before then turning to Rachel and the Candy People.
"Alright, everyone. Turn around.", Bubblegum spoke.
"Okay.", Rachel understood before turning around.
However, the Candy People and Jake stared blankly at Princess Bubblegum.
"Well, turn around. This entrance is secret.", Bubblegum whispered.
"Oh.", the Candy People responded.
"Oh. Secret Entrance. Got it.", Jake said to himself.
Princess Bubblegum then pulled a brick out of a wall, exposing a hole.
"Math. Hurry, Finn!", Bubblegum spoke as she then dove in through a hole in the wall.
"No way!", Finn laughed, diving in after her.
But then, Finn reached back out and pulled the brick back in, covering the hole again.
Inside the secret room, Princess Bubblegum pulled a yellow globe out of a chest.
"Here it is. Check it out.", Princess Bubblegum invited.
"A magical globe?", Finn asked.
"No, Finn. It's what you can see through the globe.", Bubblegum explained just as an image of a book appeared in the globe.
"Golly!", Finn reacted before Bubblegum giggled.
"Look. See this book?", Bubblegum asked.
"Yeah, I see it!", Finn said.
"It's called the Enchiridion. It's a book meant only for heroes whose hearts are righteous.", Bubblegum explained as it showed said book before a puff of smoke erupted from and around the book for dramatic flair.
"Shmow-zow!", Finn reacted in awe.
"The book lies at the top of Mount Cragdor, guarded by a manly minotaur. It's waiting for a truly righteous hero to claim it!", Bubblegum explained.
"Do you think I've got the goods, Bubblegum? 'Cause I am into this stuff!", Finn shouted eagerly, banging his fist against the ground excitedly.
"Yeah, I know. And yes, I do.", Bubblegum responded happily.
"Then off I go!", Finn shouted before jumping out of a high tower window.
"Jaaaaaaaaake! Rae-Raaaaaaaaae!", Finn called.
While Jake stretched up to catch Finn, Rachel, who was dancing around, turned and saw Finn in the meantime before flying up to the duo.
"Thanks, pal.", Finn thanked.
"Hey, guys.", Rachel grinned.
"Farewell, Fi—Oh, wait a minute...", Bubblegum said.
Embarrassed with her forgetfulness in the moment, she reached into her belt and pulled out a handkerchief, waving it.
"Farewell, Finn the human boy!", Bubblegum waved.
"Bye, Princess!", Finn waved.
"You know what time it is, guys?", Finn asked.
"Oh, I think I know. All together now.", Rachel grinned as she cracked her knuckles.
"Adventure Time!", the trio shouted, bumping fists with each other with the Adventure Time logo swinging and then stopping at the screen with a sword etching itself into "Time".
Then, Finn, Jake, Rachel, Mille, and Callie are now at a gate in a wall surrounding Mount Cragdor.
"So, this is Mount Cragdor, huh?", Callie asked.
"Yeah. I have a friend in there. Of course, we hang out while on my errands.", Rachel responded.
"What kind of errands do you do?", Jake asked.
"Well, it's a surprise. And you definitely have to pass some trials first.", Rachel explained as she and the others approached the gate, met by a guardian with a key helmet strapped to his head.
"Greetings, young heroes to be. This mountain is called Cragdor. Its purpose is two-fold: To protect the Enchiridion and to test the hearts of those who seek to possess it. Many noble challengers have entered the temple to pass the grueling trials that lie behind these walls, but no one has ever left here alive or dead! Only the truest most worthy hero can receive the heroes' Enchiridion and walk out these doors again! If it is you, friend, and I cannot say that I am certain, but you are verily welcome to try; However, first you must pass my riddle.", the guardian giggled before proceeding with his riddle.
"My name is Key-Per, and duly so, for I carry the key to this door, but all is not how it appears, you see. Or perhaps you do not see at all. Perhaps the key is in you, child, but you cannot use your brawn here. The door is magically sealed.", Key-Per giggled as Finn picked him up before shoving his head into the key-hole.
"Aw. He looks so cute stuffed in there.", Rachel grinned as Mille and Callie giggled.
Then, Finn proceeded to turn him and unlock the gate.
"Oh ho! You've unlocked the riddle of the door.", Key-Per spoke with laughter. "Brilliantly done, children! Please, reveal to me how you unraveled my clue."
"I just thought you'd look cute stuffed in that lock.", Finn replied.
"Oh, yes. That's how most people get in.", Key-Per responded.
"Bye!", Finn waved.
"See you later, Key-Per!", Rachel added with her own wave.
"You've passed the first trial, young heroes, but prepare yourselves! For there are many trials ahead of you, and each trial is more treacherous than the last.", Key-Per warned as behind ihm, the gate slowly moved, but then moved quickly at the last instant, closing.
Meanwhile, the group were now venturing the forest.
"The Enchiridion is...", Jake said while sniffing more, before pointing. "That way."
"What?! Dude! You can't smell the book from here!", Finn responded.
"How would you know what it smells like?", Rachel asked.
"It's in the castle on top of the mountain. In a room.", Jake said, sniffing again.
"You can really tell all that from the smell?", Rachel asked, earning Jake's laughter as he tapped his nose while responding back. "Wish you had one, huh?"
"I actually don't know how to respond to that.", Rachel responded.
Then, Callie tried her hand at sniffing.
"Gah! All I can smell is dirt down here...!", Callie groaned.
"Honestly, I can't wait until we get to grow back up to our original ages.", Mille said.
"Me neither, sis.", Finn grinned.
Just then, Rachel, Finn, Jake, Mille, and Callie heard voices yelling for help.
"Someone's in danger!", Rachel spoke in worry.
"This way!", Finn urged, running toward the voices.
"What about the book?", Jake puzzled.
"It can wait. Someone needs our help.", Finn urged.
While everyone else jumped over the brambles just fine, Jake stretched over them and Finn wound up landing on his face.
"Finn!", Rachel spoke in worry, helping him get back up.
"Yo, Finn. Are you alright? Did you get brain damage?", Jake asked.
"I'm fine! Keep going! We have to hurry!", Finn urged.
"Right.", Rachel nodded.
With that, the group of five came upon three gnome-like pixies trapped in a lava pit.
"We're stuck in the fire!", the red pixie said.
"Uh, I wouldn't do that if I were you.", Rachel warned.
"I couldn't watch the little guys suffer, Rae-Rae. My hero code wouldn't allow it.", Finn responded before he reached in and pulled the pixies out.
"I gotcha.", Finn assured.
"Oh, donk...", Rachel sighed.
"Thank you for saving us.", the red pixie thanked; but then, his voice turned menacing. "Now we can destroy this old lady!"
The apparently evil pixies flew towards an old lady, who was tied to a stake, minding her own business as she sang.
"What?!", Finn exclaimed.
The pixies zapped the old lady with magic and she disappeared.
"Every time you say 'what', we'll destroy an old lady.", the red pixie smirked.
"What?!", Finn exclaimed.
"It's a wonderful day!", another old lady spoke before she got zapped and she disappeared.
"I tried to warn ya.", Rachel said.
"What's their deal, Rae-Rae?", Jake asked.
"Full disclosure? These guys are Grade-A, elderly-destroying jerkwad tricksters.", Rachel responded bluntly.
"'Jerkwad tricksters' doesn't do them any justice.", Mille commented.
"Why are they so evil?", Callie added just as shocked.
"Every time you say 'no', we'll destroy an old lady.", the red pixie snarled.
"No! Wai...", Finn began before the pixies just zapped three more old ladies.
"Please... don't destroy... anymore... old women.", Finn spoke increasingly sadly as the three evil pixies each destroyed one more old lady.
"Every time you look sad, we'll destroy a big old woman!", the red pixie smirked as he and his cohorts presented said big old woman.
"Well, ever since I got to...", the big old woman began just right before screaming as she got zapped, much to Finn's distress as he ran off.
"Finn, wait!", Mille spoke in worry.
Then, Rachel turned to the evil pixies in fury with a growl.
"Hey, guys. Every time he's a big wuss, let's destroy an old lady.", the red pixie whispered as he and his cohorts were in a huddle.
"Yeah!", the other pixies laughed in agreement.
"HEY!", Rachel shouted.
"Huh?", the evil pixies puzzled.
"You tricked my friend into freeing you, destroyed old ladies, took advantage of my friend's weakness, sent him running away, I... HAVE... HAD IT!", Rachel snapped before firing her ice blasts at the pixies, freezing them all the way through.
Rachel panted for a moment as Jake was astonished.
"Whoa, girl.", Jake said as Rachel took a deep breath.
"Have you forgotten? Every time you start destroying old ladies, I freeze you.", Rachel said, using her blue crystal sword to break the ice the pixies were each frozen in in half, freeing them only halfway.
"Oh, you're gonna get it, Ice Princess!", the red pixie snarled.
"Hey! Back off Rae-Rae, you gnomes! Our friend just saved you guys! You should thank him, not destroy old ladies! Do you even know what I'm talking about? Say thank you! Say... Thank... You.", Jake demanded, puzzling both Rae-Rae and the pixies alike.
"But... they already did, though.", Rachel said to Jake.
"Kill him!", the red pixie shouted.
"NO!", Rachel shouted in worry before the pixies tried zapping Jake with magic, but Jake twisted his body and grabbed the pixies.
"Get back in there!", Jake shouted, shoving the pixies back into the lava pit.
"Oh, where could Finn have gone?", Rachel asked, picking Mille and Callie up before taking off.
"Hey, Rae-Rae, where are you goin'?", Jake asked.
"Where do you think? I'm looking for FIIIIIIIIIIIIII...!", Rachel shouted as she suddenly fell down a hole.
As she fell, she only stopped screaming when she used her hair to stop herself from falling, flying in midair just as Jake caught up.
"Are you okay, Rae-Rae?!", Jake shouted.
"Huh? Oh, yeah! We're okay, Jake! Just fine!", Rachel replied before turning back toward her surroundings.
"Huh?", Rachel puzzled, looking around to see that she's surrounded with naught but crystal.
"What is that?", Callie asked.
"It looks so beautiful.", Mille added.
"Wait a minute. I think I know where we are right now. But I didn't think we'd be here that soon.", Rachel realized just as Jake caught up.
"Where are we?", Mille asked.
"I think we're in the Crystal Cavern. I usually come here looking for some ingredients for my surprise every time I go to Mount Cragdor.", Rachel responded.
"Whoa. That sounds like fun.", Jake grinned.
"Yeah. But the only thing that's not fun was having to deal with a certain greedy jerkwad who lives down here. He even likes to talk about himself.", Rachel responded.
"Huh. Well, off-hand, how many do you have left?", Callie asked.
"Just one. Why?", Rachel asked.
"What if we help you get the last ingredient?", Callie asked.
"What? Y-You guys... wanna help me get it?", Rachel puzzled.
"Yeah. We are heroes. And they always help someone in need, remember?", Mille asked.
"But what about Finn?", Rachel asked.
"I don't like what those pixies did anymore than any of us do, but from the way you spun that yarn, it sounds like that jerkwad is a lot to deal with.", Mille responded.
Rachel thought it over.
"Well, you're not wrong... Okay. But we're making this quick. The sooner we get that crystal, the sooner we can get back to Finn.", Rachel responded.
"You hear that, Jake?! We'll catch up! You just look for Finn. As soon as you find him, stay by where he is until we find you guys, okay?", Rachel asked.
"Okay.", Jake replied, leaving for Finn.
"Okay. Let's get to searching.", Rachel said.
So, Rachel flew across the spacious crystal hallway while holding Mille and Callie in her arms.
"Funny. It kinda reminds me of the Crystal Dimension. Only this room is... darker and blue.", Rachel commented.
"You went to the Crystal Dimension?", Mille asked.
"Not by choice. I'll explain when we get back.", Rachel explained.
Sure enough, the trio reached a vacant room, illuminated only by a glowing white orb in the center.
"Whoa. It looks so pretty.", Callie commented.
"Well, it should. That's where I got most of the ingredients from. And if I'm right, there should be one more down here.", Rachel responded as the trio got closer to the orb.
From there, Mille and Callie spotted a crystal reminiscent of one of Ice King's crown crystals.
"Does the crystal you're looking for look anything like that?", Callie asked, holding it up.
The sight surprised Rachel.
"Actually, yeah!", Rachel responded.
But then Rachel gave a cautious frown.
"Wait. That's too easy... I mean, yeah, it is real, but... why weren't there any traps here?", Rachel asked.
Suddenly, crystals sprouted from the ground before cuffing and binding the 3 intruders to the ground. And no sooner had this happened that who should they meet but a Crystal Wizard with a lit pair of shades.
"Ohohohohooo...What have we here? It's a sparkly, shiny...", the Crystal Wizard began as he saw Mille and Callie before spotting Rachel.
"Wait a minute...", the Crystal Wizard spoke before bringing Rachel to him with a flick of his fingers.
"Whoa!", Rachel exclaimed as this happened.
"Ugh...! It's the Ice Princess! What are you doing down here in the Cavern of the Cryst-", the Crystal Wizard began before Callie spoke up.
"Because you're amazing! And, uh... we've heard...the tales about the crystal wizard...who became a legend. And I just want to know. How did you get such a nice... shine?", Callie asked, puzzling Rachel and Mille, as well as the Crystal Wizard.
But it doesn't seem like he was buying it.
"Are you just trying to get me to talk about myself? Because if you are...! I will gladly do so!", the Crystal Wizard suddenly spoke eagerly.
"Huh?", Rachel puzzled in relief.
"In song form!", the Crystal Wizard added before ringing his nearby crystalline gong to start the song.
As he did so, the two just watched, but during the climax of the verse, Rachel silently gestured to the side telling them to flank the Wizard and get the Crystal. As he was near the end of his verse, the trio managed to get to the crystal.
Crystal Wizard: Well, Terrafirma hasn't always been this glam
I was a drab little mage once...
Now I know, I can be happy as a champ
Because I'm beautiful, baby.
Did your mommy say "listen to your heart"
Be who you are on the inside
I need three words to tear her argument apart; your mommy lied!
I'd rather be shiny
like a treasure from a sunken pirate wreck (Scrub the deck)
and make it look shiny
I will sparkle like a wealthy woman's neck (Cccchhhh! Just a sec, don't you know?)
Grubs are dumb, dumb, dumb
From almost anything, they're stricken
The dickens?
Oh, and here they come, come, come
To the brightest thing that thickens
Mmm, tastes like chickens
I just love free food
Maybe even seafood
"We got it!", Rachel giggled excitedly.
But then, Terrafirma turned and gasped from seeing that they got it, worrying them.
"Oh, donk...", Rachel said to herself before Terrafirma gave an evil smirk.
As he sang again, he proceeded to toy with Rachel first by brushing aside her pre-emptive strikes until he got close enough to grab her with crystals and chuck her to a wall, but not before spinning her around. Then, Rachel recovered with a frustrated look on her face before she got out her crystal sword and swung it only for him to grab it and throw her to the wall again before even grabbing the two babies and placing them in a newly-made crystal orb adjacent to the center. Afterwards, he then grabbed Rachel and dragged her back before she could reach for her blue crystal sword and smacked her against the ceiling. Next, he even blasted crystals at her to keep her at bay from the sword, allowing him to seize her blue crystal sword and ring the gong.
Terrafirma: Well, well, well...
Little Rae-Rae's having trouble with her luck
You little mini-Ice Princess
Ouch! What a terrible performance
Just get chucked! (Get it?)
You don't swing it like you used to, woman
Yet I have to give you credit for my start
And your designs on the outside
For just like you, I made myself a work of art
I never hide, I can't
I'm too shiny
Watch me dazzle like a diamond in the rough (Strut my stuff)
My stuff is so shiny
Send your armies but they'll never be enough
My shell's too tough, Poor Rae-Rae
You're like a breeze, breeze, breeze...
And while you think that you're smart, you're like an old fart
Rachel: Hey!
Terrafirma: You will freeze, freeze, freeze
Now it's time for me to take apart
Your aching heart
Then, the center orb showed a memory of a black-haired man with glasses and a woman with slightly pink skin, red hair, and her big pair of glasses, making Rachel give a sad look right before Terrafirma then cast his spell to start turning Mille and Callie into crystals like what happened with Finn along time ago, worrying Rachel, who tried to rush him to stop this, only for him to grab her fist and then swing her toward the wall again, but this time, with the crystal wizard dragging her face across the crystal wall. Afterwards, he tossed her up into the air and created a big podium with Rachel landing on it before trying to reach for the sword etched in the middle of it only for it to suddenly start spinning around and pick up at a very high speed until Rachel couldn't hold on and fell to the ground (thankfully, not without her sword). As soon as she recovered, she looked at it and came up with an idea while Terrafirma turned to the two half-turned children in the orb and then started turning them completely into crystals.
Terrafirma: Far from the madness that ravaged you
Chasing the love of your parents
Who made you feel wanted
You tried to be tough
But your armor's just not hard enough
Rae-Rae! Now it's time to kick your hiney
Ever seen someone so shiny?
Soak it in cause it's the last you'll ever see
C'est la vie, mon ami
I'm so shiny
Now I'll beat you so prepare your final plea
Just for me
You'll never be quite as shiny
You wish you were nice and shiny
"HEY!", Rachel shouted.
"Huh?", Terrafirma puzzled, turning to see Rachel and ceasing the spell with only the top right parts of their heads normal.
"I got somethin' shiny for ya!", Rachel shouted, holding up the blue crystal.
The sight made Terrafirma gasp before the orb disappeared and Mille and Callie landed on the ground, the crystal coating shattering and rendering the two back to normal (as can be, at least).
"My crystal... You can't run from me!", Terrafirma discouraged.
"Watch me!", Rachel smirked before taking off.
"Oh, you can... You keep surprising me.", Terrafirma said as he chased after her.
"Rae-Rae!", Mille spoke in worry.
"There's only so far you can get on those two little legs.", Terrafirma spoke before Rachel tripped, causing the blue crystal to fall into a big crack, which Terrafirma quickly ran toward, desperately trying to get it.
"Hahahaaa! The power of creation...from the crystal dimension! Where is it? Where is it?!", Terrafirma exclaimed.
But while he was trying to get the crystal, Rachel saw an opportunity to hurry over to Mille and Callie.
"Come on, guys. We gotta go. Right now!", Rachel urged.
"But what about the crystal?", Callie asked.
"He can have it. I've got a better one.", Rachel responded with a grin, holding out an apparently real blue crystal.
"Oh...", Mille and Callie spoke in awe.
Meanwhile, Terrafirma found the crystal and attained it.
"Hahahahaaa Yes! I have the...", Terrafirma began, only to see that the blue crystal was little more than an icicle.
"Wait a minute... Ugh! I see, she's taken an icicle and she's chiseled it into the shape of my crystal...as a diversion. Grrr! Come back here!", Terrafirma exclaimed, breaking the fake crystal and chasing after the trio.
But by then, it was too late! Rachel, Mille, and Callie were now set for take off.
"Force of Blizzard!", Rachel shouted, propelling herself and the two babies up into the air through a hole leading to a forest and a pond.
"Whoohoo!", Rachel cheered.
"Hey! HEY! Did you like the song?", Terrafirma asked.
Then, the trio finally arrived.
"Phew...! You two see what I had to deal with?", Rachel asked, earning the two babies' nods.
Then, they turned to see Finn by himself.
"There he is.", Rachel said.
But before they could walk up to him, they noticed Jake walking up to Finn and sitting by him.
"There's Jake, too.", Mille said.
"He must've found him.", Callie guessed.
"Hey, Finn. You okay?", Jake asked.
"No way, dude. Those old ladies are destroyed because of me. I'm not righteous. I'm wrongteous. Stupidteous.", Finn responded as he sadly, in his frustration at his helplessness, tossed a stone at the pond, bouncing it away until it hit a tree bark and then landed in the pond.
"Finn...", Rachel sighed in concern.
"Awww. Don't let those pixies and their illusions get you down. They're just pixies and illusions.", Jake said.
"Illusions?", Finn puzzled.
"Yeah, man. Think. What would regular, old, sweet ladies be doing wandering the hills of Mount Cragdor?", Jake asked.
"Maybe they're lost?", Finn asked, earning Jake's laughter.
"No way. This place is designed to mess you up. To mess with your head. None of this is real. It's all just trials to test your heroic attributes.", Jake assured, allowing Finn to be cheered up the more he thought about it.
"Hmmm... Hmmm!", Finn grinned.
"He's right, you know.", Rachel spoke up, prompting Finn to turn to see her, Mille, and Callie.
"You doing okay?", Rachel asked.
"I am now. Thanks to Jake.", Finn responded, gesturing to him.
"You found what you're looking for down here?", Jake asked.
"Yeah. We did. And guys? That was really dangerous down here. But thank you for helping me.", Rachel grinned.
"Don't mention it.", Mille responded.
"Now let's go get that book.", Jake ushered.
"Yeah! You're the smartest dog I know, man.", Finn grinned.
"The sooner, the better.", Rachel added.
Jake laughed and then suddenly wound up eaten by a giant ogre out of nowhere.
"Jake?!", Finn exclaimed as the ogre swallowed him.
"D'oh!", Rachel reacted in shock.
"You cannot pass!", the ogre discouraged.
"Spit my brother out, you mean ogre!", Callie barked.
"No!", the ogre refused.
Just then, Jake popped out of the ogre's nostril.
"It's ok, guys! I can get out!", Jake assured only for the ogre to shove his finger into his nostril, pushing Jake back inside.
"Let Jake go, or I'll... I'll kick your foot!", Finn demanded, kicking the ogre's foot.
But the Ogre just laughed.
"It is impossible for you to hurt me!", the ogre discouraged.
Just then, Jake popped out of the ogre's ear and laughed.
"Don't worry, dudes! I found another way—oof!", Jake exclaimed as the ogre shoved his finger into his ear, pushing Jake back inside.
"Finn, hop on!", Rachel urged.
"Cling!", Finn responded, clinging onto her before she started flying up.
"We're coming, buddy!", Finn called.
The Ogre then gave a long burp.
"I think your dog finally fell into my stomach. Hey... Where'd you go?", the ogre asked, looking for them, only able to see Mille and Callie.
Finn even started pulling a giant dollar out of the ogre's wallet.
"We got your wallet, man!", Finn shouted as he grabbed the opposite edges of the dollar and glided away on it, flying alongside Rachel like a hang-glider.
"No! My big money! Give it back!", the ogre shouted.
"You can have it back when you give Jake back!", Rachel snapped.
"But I killed him already!", the ogre responded.
"No! Jake's not the type to get killed easily. So, if you won't do it willingly, there's only one way to take care of that, isn't there?", Rachel asked.
"Oh, no.. You don't mean...!", the ogre began.
"You want your dollar?", Rachel asked as she flew back toward the ogre with Finn follwing her.
"Here's your dollaaaaaarrrrr!", Finn and Rachel shouted in unison before she and Finn did a double flying kick into his stomach.
"Oof!", the ogre reacted.
The impact caused the monster to spit out Jake along with the liquid.
"Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa-oa!", Jake exclaimed, trying to keep his balance while riding on the waves of stomach acid.
"Jake!", Rachel and Finn called before the latter grabbed Jake with his feet.
"You're okay!", Finn grinned.
"Stomachs are weird.", Jake commented laughingly.
Then, Rachel went toward Mille and Callie, picking them up in her arms and followed Finn all the way toward the entrance of a stone temple near the top of the mountain.
"Dude! You just flew us all the way to the top! Wait a minute. [Sniff] I can smell the book right through this door.", Jake grinned, sniffing for the book.
"Is it?", Callie asked before sniffing for herself.
"Huh. Well, what do you know? It is.", Callie spoke in slight surprise.
Meanwhile, the ogre was now crying in the distance.
"You're under arrest for stealing my dollar!", the ogre shouted before he continued crying.
"Well, it's not like we need this dollar anymore, right?", Rachel asked to Finn.
"Just a minute, Jake.", Finn said before he folded the dollar into a paper airplane and launched it towards the ogre.
"Hey!", the ogre spoke before he caught the dollar and laughed happily, earning Finn and Rachel's smiles.
"You know what that was? That was righteous.", Jake grinned.
"Thanks, Jake.", Finn thanked.
Just then, they heard quaking stomps nearby.
"Huh?", Rachel puzzled before turning to see a similar ogre, only covered from head to toe in mountain rock.
"Chip chap chop! Is that...?", Finn began.
"A mountain ogre?", Jake asked.
"Oh, yeah. We have to deal with this guy first. And I think I know what he wants.", Rachel said in slight frustration with a glare.
"My, my! What do we have here? Just the babies I was looking for? And my Crystal. Come on, hand it over. I'll give you two some pudding…!", the Mountain Ogre requested in a sing-song voice.
"Well, that's tempting… but no.", Mille refused.
"How old do you think we actually are?", Callie asked.
"All right, fine, then. You leave me no choice but to whip out my ancient hypnotic mountain ogre dance moves of doom! Haha! Oh, yes.", the Mountain Ogre said as he started said danced.
"To the right! And the left! You're feeling very hypnotized.", the Mountain Ogre said.
But both babies just yawned, unimpressed.
"It's working. It's working! It's… NOT DOING JACK SQUAT! Hand over the Crystal, you teeny, tiny teabags!", the Mountain Ogre demanded.
Just then, Callie suddenly started to stretch and grow past baby size and up toward about nearly the same size as Jake, the translator falling off.
"Finally! It's about time.", Callie grinned.
Suddenly, Mille started to grow, too. But the translator on her wasn't the only thing that came off.
"Whoa!", Mille exclaimed as she lost a bit of balance during the growth, which caused all her clothes to rip off into a brown loincloth shape while her blonde hair grew to a long length until the growth stopped with her a head and a chest higher than Finn.
"Oh, donk…", the Mountain Ogre said in worry.
"Finally! I'm back to my old self again! Although, I just wish I could've kept my clothes at least...", Mille groaned.
"Oh, so, you two were grown all along, eh? Well, you know how it is. Simple misunderstandings and what-not. What do you say we let bygones be bygones and I'll be on my way?", the mountain ogre said in worry, stepping back.
"Well, we could do that. Or...", Mille said right before yelling out as she flexed her muscles and smacked the mountain ogre in the face, sending him sliding down the slope until he slid down to the end of it at the bottom.
"Sorry! Nothing personal!", Mille shouted.
"Whoa! So, that's how you actually look in your normal age?", Rachel asked.
"Well, yeah. Just preferably in better clothes.", Mille responded.
"Hm.", Rachel grinned.
"Now sniff out that book for us.", Finn said.
"You got it!", Jake agreed as Finn picked him up and all 4 walked into the temple with him as Jake sniffed the air.
Once inside, they walked into a long hallway with arms holding knives sticking out from the pillars.
"Whoa!", Finn exclaimed.
"Cool!", Jake grinned.
"You guys should watch yourselves. There's no telling what the Dark Magician would make you face.", Rachel warned.
"Dark Magician? Who's he?", Jake asked.
"I am the Dark Magician!", the Dark Magician spoke up, arriving in a fog of dark purple smoke emitting from two vases.
"Congratulations, Finn the human, Ice Princess Rachel Petrikov. You must be truly righteous to have made it this far.", the Dark Magician spoke.
"Thank you.", Finn said.
"Now! Enter my brain-world, and I will show you some aspect of yourself that you're not entirely aware of.", the Dark Magician smirked as both Finn and Rachel wound up hypnotized.
Then, black clouds suddenly parted and Finn and Rachel are now in a gray, misty area.
"Where... are we?", Finn asked.
"This is the Dark Magician's Brain-world.", Rachel responded.
"For your final trial, slay the beast!", the Dark Magician spoke in a disembodied voice as the Heart Beast, a giant heart with a glowing skeleton-arm and a scarf, landed on the ground.
"Why?", Rachel asked.
"Is it an evil beast?", Finn asked.
"Yeeeeessss. It's completely evil. Will you slay it?", the Dark Magician asked.
"Ugh... That's a creepy way to ask. But heck, yeah, we'll slay it! Right, Finn?", Rachel asked.
"Shoot, yeah. I'll slay anything that's evil. That's my deal.", Finn agreed.
In no time, the beast attacked Finn and Rachel, but they dodged and jumped on top of the beast.
Rachel cast an ice spell all over the beast before both Finn and Rachel rushed at it with their respective swords and slashed it in 4, causing it to burst into pieces with blood gushing out from the blows as its body fell to the ground.
"Yeeeeessss! You've done well, heroes.", the Dark Magician grinned.
"Thanks a ton...", Rachel sighed.
"Now! As one last, last trial, Rachel Petrikov...", the Dark Magician began before Ice King and an ominous shadow of a man Rachel saw from the orb earlier appeared.
"Slay your inner demons!", the Dark Magician shouted.
"What?! Inner demons? But that's my Dad! I can't do that!", Rachel exclaimed just right before Ice King blasted an ice spell at her, forcing Rachel to hold it back with her own.
"Rae-Rae!", Finn shouted in worry.
"HI-YAH!", Ice King exclaimed.
"Dad, stop! What are you doing?!", Rachel shouted in worry, struggling to hold the blast back.
"Irslerskat prjon! Prjon, prjon Prrrrrrrrrrrrjon!", the Ominous shadow shouted as he then raised shadow demons resembling Ice King's snow monsters, only more demonic and menacing, causing the Ice King's ice blast to grow more powerful due to the shadow monsters' assistance..
"If you want the Hero's Enchiridion, then let go of whatever it is that's holding you back and destroy them!", the dark magician exclaimed.
At that moment, Rachel's tiara's gem glowed before her chest started to glow brightly with her chest puffing up by a few inches, making Finn worried.
"Oh, no...! Rae-Rae!", Finn said in worry.
Suddenly her butt began to puff up just as much as well.
"Ah! No! Stop!", Rachel pleaded in fear as the Dark Magician laughed.
"Come on, give in!", the Dark Magician shouted.
"NEVER!", Rachel shouted back in refusal.
Suddenly, however, Rachel groaned as she convulsed as the change seemingly started to overtake her.
"Rae-Rae!", Finn shouted in worry.
"Finn...! I... I'm losing... myself...!", Rachel moaned as her chest and butt slowly swelled and puffed up again.
Fortunately, when it did, she saw the crystal she procured earlier, resting on top of her big chest making her gasp in awe, her eyes tearing up.
"The crystal...! Of course...!", Rachel gasped.
Just when it seemed like her chest and butt would burst out, they suddenly stopped growing as Rachel smirked.
"So, you want me to stop holding back, right? Fine. Then, I'll stop holding back! But it's not because I'm giving in to the madness washing over me! It's because I have my own family and friends counting on me! Right now, I'll be darned if I let any one of them down!", Rachel shouted as her swollen chest and butt slowly started to decrease while Rachel finally went all-out and pushed Ice King's ice blast back.
"Whoo! Keep it coming, Rae-Rae! I'll help, too!", Finn shouted, running over to her.
But the Dark Magician stopped him.
"Hold it! If you wish to rescue your friend, there is one thing you must do... Slay this ant!", the Dark Magician demanded as a small ant appeared next to Finn.
He knelt down to the small creature and touched its tiny arm gently with his finger.
"Is it evil?", Finn asked.
"No! But it's not good either. It's, uh, neutral.", the Dark Magician asked.
"Seriously? Neutral?", Rachel asked, puzzledly.
"Uh..., yes. Will you slay it?", the Dark Magician asked to Finn.
Finn looked at the ant and raised his fist. But after a moment, he slammed it down on the ground, missing the ant entirely.
"No!", Finn shouted.
"If you want to save your friend and attain the heroes' Enchiridion, then slay this unaligned ant!", the Dark Magician demanded.
"Never... Never...! NEVER!", Finn snapped.
"Uh-oh.", the Dark Magician spoke worriedly in the real world before
Finn kicked the Dark Magician in the crotch and the cloak fell to the ground, red mist pouring out.
Finn panted as the illusions faded away, allowing Rachel to stop.
"Phew...! All right! You did it, Finn! I thought I was gonna lose it AND myself back there...", Rachel grinned as her chest and butt shrank back to their original size very quickly.
But at that moment, that was when Key-per, dressed like a devil, appeared.
"Congratulations, Finn the human, Ice Princess Rachel Petrikov. Now you have truly reached the end of...", Key-per began.
But before he could finish, Finn snapped all over again.
"NEVEEEEEEEER!", Finn snapped right before he ran up and punched Key-per in the stomach, making Rachel gasp.
"Ooh!", Key-per groaned.
"Finn!", Rachel exclaimed.
"Oh, no! Mr. Key-per! I-I'm sorry. Why are you wearing that little devil costume?", Finn asked.
"Ohhhhh..., yeah. Totally forgot to mention... Those are his pajamas, Finn.", Rachel explained.
"She speaks the truth. I was getting ready for bed.", Key-per agreed.
Just then, a minotaur appeared and ran over to the 5 heroes.
"Finn, Jake, Rae-Rae, Mille, Callie! You made it!", the minotaur grinned.
"Are you another trial?", Finn asked.
"Trial? Oh, no! I'm Mannish Man, the minotaur.", Mannish Man laughed.
"And we just so happen to be friends.", Rachel grinned.
"You said it, girl.", Mannish Man said.
Finn gasped in amazement.
"The manly minotaur from Princess Bubblegum's story!", Finn responded.
"In person.", Rachel smirked.
Mannish Man laughed and flexed his muscles at Finn and Rachel.
"So, can we check out the Enchiridion? Can we? Can we? Can we?", Finn asked.
"Actually, I came for a different reason.", Rachel said.
"Huh? Rae-Rae, what the Shank?", Finn asked.
"Oh, yeah. You got that crystal, Rae-Rae?", Mannish Man asked.
"Yeah. And I had a little help from those two.", Rachel grinned, looking to Mille and Callie, who grinned back at her.
"So, is the project at the picnic table?", Rachel asked.
"Yeah. Come on. Let's go check it out. Woohoo!", Mannish Man replied, running off.
Soon, Finn, Jake, Rachel, Mille, Callie, Mannish Man, and Key-per were walking up to a picnic table, a couple of old ladies from before reappearing on the table as well.
"We've been watching you guys on our magical viewing globe. Take a seat guys, have some juice. There's grape and apple and the gatekeeper made spaghetti.", Mannish Man offered as Key-per held out said spaghetti noodles.
"Thanks. This'll make for a great lunch.", Rachel said, looking toward the apparently unfinished tiara.
"But, first things first...", Rachel said.
"Whoa. That's your surprise, Rae-Rae?", Mille asked.
"Well, yeah. When I finish this, anyone who puts this baby on will be turned into an awesome ice magic wielding warrior in no time. Like me. No madness involved. Just pure, unadulterated love.", Rachel grinned.
Finn could not restrain himself any longer.
"Oh, Rae-Rae, you've gotta let me put this thing on!", Finn said eagerly.
"Whoa, there, Finn. First off, I didn't say it was for you.", Rachel explained.
"Aw...", Finn groaned.
"And secondly, it's not done yet. I just need to put those crystals in and weld them in while doing a bonding chant.", Rachel explained.
"Oh. Still might be cool to see you finish it, though.", Finn grinned.
"Yeah. It's awesome.", Jake agreed.
"It is interesting to see you finish making it.", Callie grinned.
"Thanks, guys. I think so, too.", Rachel agreed.
Then, Rachel placed the crystals on the appropriate slots and started welding them in with her ice magic.
"Bonding, bonding, three two one, you can do it, you can do it, three two one, bonding bonding.", Rachel said before suddenly, an explosion of magic erupted the moment the welding is complete, bringing forth a big blue column of light, which then dissipated.
When the light dimmed, everyone saw that the tiara is finally complete.
"I did it! I did it!", Rachel grinned.
Naturally, her friends cheered for her.
"Great job, Rae-Rae.", Finn grinned.
"Thanks, Finn.", Rachel grinned.
"So, who is that crown for?", Callie asked.
"Oh, well, I wouldn't wanna spoil the surprise.", Rachel blushed.
"Come on, tell us.", Jake said.
"Uh... Oh! But what about the, uh, you know?", Rachel asked, looking toward Mannish Man.
"Oh, yeah! Right. Alright, Finn. Are you ready for this?", Mannish Man asked before he then pulled out the Enchiridion and made a small explosion noise with his mouth.
"The Enchiridion!", Finn exclaimed in surprise.
"You and Rae-Rae deserve it, Finn.", Mannish Man said, handing the book to Finn.
"Really?", Finn asked.
"Me, too?", Rachel asked.
"Yeah, guys. You two're the goodest of heart, soundest of mind, and most righteous heroes I've seen here. Tenderness, ingenuity, bravery, determination, nard-kicking ability, and when you took that giant ogre's dollar... Oh, man! The Key-per nearly fainted!", Mannish Man laughed.
"It's true!", Key-per agreed, laughing with him, even earning Rachel's small giggle.
"Hey! Crack open that book and read something for fun's sake, alright?", Jake asked.
"Oh, yeah.", Finn said before opening his book.
"Whoa. How to Kiss Princesses?", Finn asked before giggling nervously.
"Huh?!", Rachel reacted in surprise before Jake and Callie went over toward Finn quickly.
"Whoa. What'd you just read?", Jake asked.
"I think we all heard that.", Mille responded.
Just then, Princess Bubblegum appeared on the magical viewing globe.
"Yeah. What does it say, Finn? Mannish Man won't tell me.", Bubblegum asked.
"Hey. Don't tell her, Finn.", Mannish Man whispered.
"It doesn't say anything, Princess.", Finn responded with a blush.
"Mannish Man!", Bubblegum exclaimed, annoyed as Mannish Man shrugged at her.
"Awwww... Yeah!", Finn and Rachel shouted in unison as they leapt into the air with the two old ladies disappearing again.
Then, the Adventure Time logo appeared on the screen again.
A/N: And there you have it! Rachel was busy making a magic ice tiara! If you wanna know what the plan is for that, the next chapter is sure to cover that. :)
