Chapter 1: Alternate Finalists, Alternate Ending
The final three, Lightning, Cameron and Zoey, were currently in the mess hall. While Lightning sat by himself near the kitchen, Cameron sat at the lunch table by the door, sitting across from Zoey...or actually Commando Zoey. See, in the previous challenge, Chef took things too far and shot Zoey with his meatball bazooka, sending her straight down a pit. Seeing the necklace Mike gave her broken in two, it fueled the anger and determination inside of her and unleashed her inner warrior. She stayed commando even after Scott's elimination, and now she's using a fork as a slingshot.
Cameron started freaking out. "Lightning is furious at me for winning the last immunity! He's focused all his energy on pumping iron and psyching me out!" Zoey's focused on her slingshot as he continued to speak. "Me! The guy who gets psyched out by feathers and big drinking cups. Ah! Are you even listening to me?"
Zoey got up close to Cameron, barely touching their noses and said "You know what you gotta do?"
"Start backing away from you quietly?" He quietly suggested.
"You gotta grab your fear by the throat and throttle it into courage!"
"Courage?" Cameron questioned.
"The thing that can turn a passive small town teen who sews her own clothes into a hardened extermination machine!" As Zoey spoke, she fired her food using her slingshot at Chef, who fell down from the attack and groaned in pain. "Besides, whatever Lightning's thinking can't be that bad."
Cameron looked down as he said "Oh, he's gonna eat me alive. I know it!"
"Ahem!"
Cameron and Zoey both turned around and saw Lightning glaring at Cameron and seasoned salt on a pillow version of Cam, before biting its face off.
Feeling very intimidated, Cameron freaked out. "Ah! It's like he's chewing my soul!"
"Easy, little guy," Zoey reassured Cam. "We are going to take Lightning out. Two on one, no mercy."
Cameron replied "Yeah?"
"No pity!"
"Yeah," Cam said with more confidence.
"No prisoners!" Zoey shouts.
"Yeah! It's gonna be a friendship finale!" Cameron shouts in joy. he stood up from his seat and put out his hand in front of Zoey, waiting for a high five. "Don't leave me hanging!"
Zoey stood up too, and gave him a high five. however it gave him a lot of pain.
"Ow!" Cameron shouts in pain.
Confessional
Cameron looked at the camera, rubbing the hand that's hurt. "What happened to Zoey? Ah, no big deal. As long as she protects me from Lightning."
...Skipped to middle of challenge...
"Think, Zoey. How am I gonna get that flower?" Zoey said to herself.
Cameron pointed out to the stepping stone pathway in front of them. "WE could hop across on the stepping stones."
Zoey seemed confident. "Yeah, stand back, I'm on it." She took a few leaps on the stones when one of them started moving. "What the? Whoa, whoa, whoa!"
The big stepping stone that Zoey was on turned out to be a mutant turtle, who was not happy to say the least. It came out of the swamp and roared, flying Zoey back to Cameron. She stood up and glared at the braniac.
"Stepping stones, huh?" She commented.
Cameron nervously laughed, feeling scared of Zoey at the moment.
Confessional
Zoey looked dead in the lense of the camera and said "I got my eye on you, Cam. Friendship finale? My butt!"
Cameron tried to explain "Zoey, I swear! I didn't know it was a really grumpy mutant turtle."
The two noticed Lightning coming and stopped in front of the swamp. "Boo-yah! First! ...What?! How did you two-" He noticed Cameron and Zoey a few feet away from him, and growled in frustration, ripping apart the map in the process. "Stupid map! This game ain't over yet!" He jumped on top of the turtle and grabbed the flower from Larry's mouth... "Yes! Hey zeroes! Watch and weep at the hero! Sha-ah! Ow!" ...and got swallowed by the large mutant plant.
Cameron shook in fear and grabbed hold of Zoey, making her carry him bridle-style. "It-It ate Lightning like he was snack sized!"
Zoey, however, smiled and said "Guess he's not a picky eater."
"Aw, let me out, you overgrown fern!" Lightning shouted as he was punching Larry from inside his mouth. A few seconds later, Larry spat Lightning out, sending him straight towards a tree, before falling to the ground, covered in slobber.
"What do you know? That big mutant does have taste," Zoey confirmed.
"So this is what hot dogs feel like," the jock sadly replied.
"Cam! The flower, let's grab it!" Zoey said, eagerly wanting to win.
Cameron was still terrified. "But... but Larry. He's so big and carnivorous. And oh, sweet Mother of Pearl, he's looking at me like I'm desert!"
Zoey let go of Cameron and grabbed him by his hoodie. "Snap out of it! You gotta dig deep and find your inner warrior! I need that flower!"
"You mean we need that flower! We!" Cameron corrected, starting to get annoyed by her new persona.
"That's what I said!" She angrily replied.
Cameron, still annoyed, began to analyze. "Fine! Okay. From what just happened to Lightning, that flower must be Larry's bite sensor. Problem is, there's no way to grab the flower and clear his mouth fast enough."
Zoey pondered for a moment before coming up with something. "Hmm... I got a plan."
The next scene showed Cameron dangling from the vine wrapped around him, slowly descending down towards the flower. Feeling nervous, he told Zoey in a loud whisper "Um, Zoey? For the record, I don't like this plan!"
Zoey, who held the end of vine that was carrying the nerd, replied "You don't have to like it! Now focus, Cameron! It's all about teamwork!"
Confessional
Cameron was angry and said "Teamwork, as in I'll stand over here and help you get turned into mutant plant food!"
Zoey began to explain. "Like I'm gonna let Cameron lower me down. My pet hamster, Ms. Puffycheeks is stronger than he is."
As Cameron got closer to the flower, he began sneezing uncontrollably. ACHOO! I must be... ACHOO! allergic to mutant pollen. ACHOO!"
Zoey pulled Cameron up when she noticed Larry moving. The branch that held the vine was snapping. As Zoey slowly lowered Cameron again, he said "On second thought, I don't even like flowers. Or winning. ACHOO!"
Zoey didn't want to hear his complaints. "Come on, Cameron! Eye of the tiger!"
Out of nowhere, Lightning swung from a vine and kicked Cameron away, which sent him straight towards Zoey and crashed them both down on the ground. Lightning retrieved the flower and landed on the other side of the swamp safely. "Mark this flower the property of Lightning!" He then ran off towards the finish line.
Zoey, who was still on the ground thanks to Cameron, accused him. "Way to let Lightning take the flower!"
Cameron retorted back. "Way to almost trap me into the plant so I get chomped on purpose!"
Suddenly, they both heard a roar, and saw Larry coming out of the ground, and stood on two giant root legs. before running off to get his flower.
They both gasped, and Cameron asked "So, are we still a team?"
Zoey told him "Why wouldn't we be?"
Confessional
"Cam may be as effective in battle as a noodle, but he did help me find Larry. Us. I mean us. Wow, I really am doing that a lot," Zoey corrected herself, realizing what she now became.
Lightning ran as fast as he could, feeling more confident each second. "Touchdown imminent. Nothing can stop the Lightning from striking now!" Just then, one of Larry's roots grabbed Lightning and yanked him to face Larry while dangling upside down. Completely surprised, he said "Whoa! What? How did you get here? Nobody said you had feet!
Larry opened his mouth and Lightning screamed as he was about to be eaten. Just before that, Zoey jumped up and grabbed the flower from Lightning before running off.
Lightning shouted "Girl, get back here with my flower!" Now that Larry had a new target, he threw the jock behind him as if he was trash. "Whoa!" Lightning was sent into a giant shroom, and muffled angrily "That girl is so toast when I get out of here!"
Zoey ran as she noticed Larry coming closer to her, and shouted to her friend, who was farther back from her "Cam, catch!"
Cameron caught the flower Zoey threw at him. "Got it! Sorry! ACHOO!"
Larry roared, making Cameron scream in fear. He ran off with the flower, the mutant plant not too far behind.
Zoey was a few feet in front of Cam and shout out to him "Throw me the flower! I'm open! Cam, Larry's gaining on you!"
Over at the finish line, Chris chuckled in amusement. "Take your time, Cam! Larry hasn't had a decent meal since I stopped feeding him three years ago. Poor guy must be famished."
Zoey urged Cam further. "Cam! Pass it here, I can win this!"
Cameron looked at Zoey in disbelief. "You can win this and vote me off? No way!" He stopped running as he continued to talk. "Friendship finale? More like frenemy finale!" After he said that, Larry swallowed Cam, who dropped the flower in the process, and chewed on him.
Chris laughed when he saw that. "You're welcome, Larry!"
Zoey caught the flower and continued to run. "Sorry, Cam! No time for chitchat!"
From inside Larry's mouth, Cameron called for help. "Help! Zoey!"
Zoey stopped and turned around. "Cameron?"
Cameron called out to Zoey as he was being eaten. "Ah! Zoey! Ah!"
Zoey groaned. "I should leave him. He'll just get in the way of me winning that millon dollar prize... but no amount of money could buy a true friend..."
Zoey clutched the flower she held as she couldn't decide which was more important. She took a look at the flower as she listened to her friends cry for her help. She began reminiscing all the good times she and Cam had together, and looked up to see Larry as he was chewing up Cam. She considered helping him, but then the Commando part of her spoke from in her head.
'He isn't worth it, Zoey.'
'He's my friend! His friendship means more to me!'
'You came on this show for one reason, and that's to get that million! No mercy, No pity, Remember!'
Zoey then though back to all the times she was in pain. Seeing Vito, who she thought was Mike at the time, flirt with Anne Maria and break her heart, being gullible to Scott's tricks, finally becoming a couple with Mike, only to have Scott vote him out after they just got together, then chef blasting her until she fell down the pit, and in pain and misery when she saw the necklace Mike gave her broken in two, unleashing Commando Zoey.
Realizing her reason for being here, she shouts "Sorry Cameron, there's only one reason why i'm here, and that is to get that million dollars!"
She ran off with the flower towards the finish line, leaving Cameron inside Larry's mouth. Lightning noticed Zoey with the flower and ran after her. "Hey! That's my flower, girl!"
Chris yelled at the tv in front of him. "Hurry up! Come on, Larry! She's almost made it!"
Larry, who still had Cameron in his mouth, growled and ran towards the other two contestants.
With Lightning and Larry behind her, Zoey sprinted until she reached the finished line. Larry grew impatient and tried to swipe off Zoey, but hit Lightning instead. "Ah! Wha!" He fell down and was stomped by Larry, and groaned in pain. Zoey dodged the plant's attack and leaped towards the finish line, and managed to get across.
Chris announced as he took the flower from Zoey "Zoey for the win!" He walked over to Larry and gave him his flower back. "Larry, buddy! Look what I rescued for you!"
Larry took the flower and spat out Cam to the other side of the white line. Cameron groaned in pain as he laid there on the grass. Lighting wobbled over in last place and fell on top of Cameron.
"Cam!" Zoey shouts in worry as she ran over to the bubble boy.
Chris cooed and praised Larry like the son he never had. "Who's a good man-eating plant? Larry's a good man-eating plant. Yes you are, yes you are!"
Chef saw that on the tv screen and muttered to himself "That dude is seriously messed up."
Zoey crouched down to Cameron and helped him up. She then asked "Cam, are you ok? ...Cam?"
Instead of Cameron being happy to see Zoey, he was pissed off. "Why do you care?" He said coldly.
Zoey was shocked. She tried to lighten up his mood. "Cam! I won! Now we can go to the finale together!"
Cameron, however, was still angry and said "You mean you're going to the finale and voting me off!"
"That's not what I sai-" Zoey was cut off as Cam started to yell in anger.
"I needed your help, Zoey! I needed you and you just left me to die just so you can win the challenge! Doesn't our friendship mean anything to you!?" Zoey was about to talk but he interrupted her again. "No, apparently not, because if you did then you would have at least tried to save me! But instead you've treated me like you don't care what happens to me! Well if the money means that much to you than our friendship, then consider us no longer friends!"
Zoey just stood there dumbfounded as Cameron walked away, most likely back to the cabins. She just stared at the spot where Cameron used to be, not realizing the tears coming out of her eyes. Chris, Chef, Lightning and Larry all just stood there in silence as they saw that whole revelation, feeling the tense and sad atmosphere. Feeling kind of awkward, Chris coughed and said. "Ok everyone, let's meet back later tonight at the docks for the elimination ceremony."
It was night time and everyone remaining was gathered at the docks for the elimination ceremony, the hurl of shame just right beside them. "Elimination time!" Chris said. "Zoey, by refusing to help rescue a fellow player and former friend from the jaws of a monster..." Zoey looked at Cameron with a sad look, only to receive a glare from his cold eyes. "...You've secure yourself a place in the finale, and you get to choose your opponent in said finale. Who will get the Hurl of Shame? Will it be Lightning, the selfish, poor sportsman jock? Or will it be-"
"Me. It will be me."
Zoey gasped. "Cameron!"
Cameron spoke "Yes! Today, I thought I had trust in someone whom I thought could have been a great, long term friend, only to find out they've stab me in the back! Now I've realized that not only did I lose a friend, but I also know I have no reason to be here."
Chris interrupted the nerd. "Um, Cam? Yeah, that's nice and all, but it's not your choice."
Cameron shout back. "No! It's my time. I know it. And I embrace it. I entered this competition a boy in a bubble. But I will return home a man in a bubble! Chris, you may hurl when ready!"
As Cam walked to the catapult and Lightning looking smug, Zoey said "Actually, I'm hurling Lightning."
Cameron and Lightning both looked at the red head in shock and shouted "WHAT!?"
Cameron told his ex-friend "But Lightning's a more stronger and better opponent!"
"Exactly! That's why he's leaving," Zoey told the bubble boy as Chef carried Lightning to the catapult. She put a hand on Cameron's right shoulder and looked him in the eyes with a apologetic smile on her face. "I meant it when I said I wanted to have a friendship finale with you, Cameron. I want to make things right between us and hope we both do our best, and do it right this time!"
Cameron just stared at her, not saying anything. Chris held the lever of the hurl of shame, about to send of the jock.
"Bon appetit, and bon voyage!"
Chris pulled the lever and Lightning screamed as he flew off. "SHA-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Chris then realized "Whoops. he forgot his Toxic Marshmallow of Loserdom. Oh well. Chef, dispose of it so it's not dangerous." Chris looked at the finalists and said "Well, I for one am slightly relieved. I thought having Cameron and Zoey here compete for the million was gonna be a friendly, huggy, snooze-fest. But now because of this new kind of drama, it's obviously not gonna be a friendship finale that's for sure."
"Oh, you got that right," Cameron muttered out loud, obviously making sure Zoey heard that. She did hear that, and looked down in sadness, rubbing her left arm with her right hand.
Chris smiled as he continued to talk. "Yep! Just unrelenting, death-defying, anti-friendship mortal combat! Next time on the epic final round of Total. Drama. Revenge of the Island!"
