There was a faint chomping noise coming from Toad Town. Mario entered the archway to find a giant paper mache Goomba eating a building.

Wait, eating?

"What? Ew! He's eating a building!" Olivia stated. "Those macho papery things must be the source of those holes we've been seeing everywhere. Uhg!" Olivia spotted something. "Hey, Mario! It has Olly's insignia on its back! That must be the seal holding it together!"

It turned to face Mario, it making small click sounds when it did. Mario wacked the seal with his hammer, and the Goomba tried to charge him. Mario moved out of the way and hammered it again, confetti flying off of it. After repeating that process two more times, it fell to pieces.

"Wahoo!"

After exploring around, Mario spotted a building and the door. There was a red Shy Guy jammed in between the two doors! Mario pulled him out.

"Thank you, Mario."

Olivia emerged from Mario's pocket. "Hey, the bridge to Peach's castle is busted. Do you know some other way we can get there?"

"I think the bridge broke when the castle ascended. But there is a way!"

"Great! How do we get there?"

"You'll have to take Graffiti Underground."

"Sounds fun!"

"But the entrance is locked shut."

"Aww, boo."

"The manhole cover hook is with my friend...But I don't know where he is ever since we got attacked by those hole-creating monster Goombas."

"Looks like we'd have to search Toad Town up and down again, huh?"

"Well, I already got rid of all the Paper Macho Goombas. At least, I think I did."

"Some other Shy Guy told us it was in a red-brick building..."

"Of course he'd leave it somewhere!" The Shy Guy sighed. "I'll stay here and keep a lookout for any more weird stuff."

"Alright! Thank you!"

Luckily, the door was unlocked, and he had already repaired the hole on it earlier when he destroyed the Goomba. After collecting some coins, Mario saved a Spike.

"Hey!" Olivia said, waving. "Do you know where we can find a manhole cover hook around here?"

"Shiny hook thing? Me saw a shiny hook thing!"

"Great! Where is it?"

"It in another room. Other room is blocked."

"Oh, so we can't get in."

The Spike pointed at a box high on a shelf next to him. "Glowy thing in a box thing. Up high there."

Olivia looked up, then to Mario. "Think you can knock it down?"

Mario wacked the shelf with his hammer repeatedly until the box wobbled over the edge, dropping the Magic Circle. Mario stepped onto it.

"Yay! Magic man with magic hands!" The Spike cheered.

Mario tore the paper blocking the entrance to the next room off the wall, and the thousand-fold arms went away.

"Is it just me, or did this one go away faster than usual? Is the magic from them slowly draining?" Olivia asked.

Mario shrugged. "You can-a leave, if you-a want."

The Spike shook his head. "Me stay and eat snacks. Me safe here."

"He has a good point. I don't think Olly would find him in here."

Mario entered the next room and started looking around. Olivia followed Mario's example and went over to a box.

"Hey, Mario. Does the manhole cover hook stick out of boxes?"

"Oh! You found it! Nice-a job!"

Olivia fiddled with her hands, her face turning red. "It wasn't much...I was just following you..."

"You're pretty helpful, Olivia."

"Th-thanks..."

Mario tore the hook out of the box and pocketed it.

"Do you have endless pocket space?"

Mario pat his pocket. "I-a guess?"

"I guess we shouldn't think about it too much. Let's head to the remains of the castle!"

After doing a few more things, Mario opened the manhole to Graffiti Underground.

"All-a right!"

"Are you ready?"

Mario nodded and started down the ladder. He stopped and looked up. "You-a coming?"

Olivia was still at the edge, staring down. "It's um...pretty dark down there..."

"I'll-a go find the lights. One second, please." Mario slid down the ladder.

He found a glowing spot on the wall and hammered it. The lights became alive, and Olivia floated down the ladder.

"Thank you, Mario. I have no idea why I froze like that."

"Everyone can-a get scared, and that's okay."

Mario continued walking to find a yellow Toad blocking off the doorway to the next room. He was cowering in the corner.

"Are you-a okay?"

He got up and dusted off his clothes. He faced Mario. "Ah, it's Mario!"

"Yahoo!"

"Pardon me-I should introduce myself. I am the curator of the Musee Champignon in Toad Town!"

Olivia tilted her head. "Moo-musea-Musee..."

"I hid down here to get away from the crazy things going on outside!"

"Chap-campin-Champig...no-non..."

"But I don't hear the chomping anymore...Did you get rid of them, Mario?!"

"Yahoo!"

"Ah, you have my deepest gratitude! I will head straight to the Musee Champignon and open it right away! The museum awaits!"

He ran off and Mario continued forwards. He turned the lights on for this room as well...

And was ambushed by a swarm of Swoops!

Thankfully, the bats were easy to kill, and Mario continued onwards. After fighting another few mobs after repairing a hole, he spotted the pipe leading to Peach's castle.

He stopped when he noticed a pool of water between him and the pipe. "Oh."

"We can't get across with all that water there." Olivia stated. "We'd get soggy!"

Mario headed down a ladder to a valve on the level below.

"I don't think you can turn that by yourself, Mario."

Mario hammered a hole in the wall to make a group of Scaredy Rats pop out. After defeating those, a Magic Circle flew off of one and landed by the valve.

"Oh! Why did they have a Magic Circle for?" She smiled at Mario. "I think you can get it now! You should try."

Mario brought out his thousand-fold arms and grabbed the valve. He turned it until it stopped moving. He let go.

"Oh, it won't turn anymore, and there's still water blocking the way."

"I'm-a plumber, I-a know how this-a works. You want to-a see?"

"Yes please!"

Mario grabbed it again, turned it, let go, and repeated that process at least two more times before the water started draining out.

"Woah! I just thought it was stuck!"

"If I-a kept turning it, it would have broke."

"Oh, I see. You really do know what you're doing! I haven't helped much, haven't I?"

Mario's arms went away. "No, Olivia. You're-a actually really helpful! If-a I hadn't saved you, I-a probably would have been origami by now! If there's anyone who knows your brother, it's-a you!"

"Aww, thank you Mario."

"Of-a course!"
