Chapter 3: Strolling Through the Forest
Route 2
The sun shined warmly in the clear blue sky. Small flocks of Pidgey had flown by peacefully from some trees; ready to search for food. On the grass, a group of Oddish and Bellsprout began to play with each other, while absorbing sunlight at the same time. After they went their ways; Pat, Sora, Celina, Zuzu, Zach, and I continued our walk along Route 2. "So, guys. How long is it going to take us to get to Pewter City?" Pat asked us. "It shouldn't be long. We have to go through Viridian Forest in order to get there." Zach replied. "Viridian Forest? Seriously? Wouldn't be much easier just to fly over there?" Pat replied. "True, but I think that we should go through the Forest. We all could get some training done for a bit, and maybe catch some Pokémon that live there." Zach replied. "Ah... okay. And hey, the area might be a perfect camping spot if we all train there for the day." Pat replied. Zach nodded his head in agreement to his response. "What are you two talking about over there?" Celina asked them.
"Huh?" they said curiously. The two boys blinked their eyes and looked at us; seeing us staring at them. "We heard you two talking about something. And we just want to know what it was, that's all." Celina replied as her Fearow gently landed on the ground. "Uh... well... we... we were just thinking..." Pat replied nervously. "Thinking about what?" she replied. Pat went silent and blushed nervously at her; trying to answer her questions. "We were talking about training in the Forest for a bit. We thought it would help us bond with our Pokémon for the day." Zach replied. "Oh. Okay. That sounds like a good idea... as long as some of us don't set the Forest on fire." she replied as she turned to me and Zuzu. Our eyes widened in shock to her response, and then we looked at our Fire-type Pokémon as they looked at us. "I'm sure that they'll be fine. We all just have to watch out for any flying embers as we walk around." Zach replied. Celina nodded her head in agreement to his response. "So what you're saying is that they can't use them at all in the Forest?" Sora asked curiously. "Well... only when it comes to battling. Everything else would be just fine." Zach replied. "Oh... okay. That's a relief." he replied. We lightly smiled at them and continued our walk.
As we walked, Zuzu looked at me silently and had a flashback of when I used my powers to fight Fearow. She mostly remembered focusing on the silent, serious look on my face as my eyes glew. "Taylor... is there a side of you that I never knew of..?" she said in her thoughts. "Hey, guys! Look on the tree!" said Sora. We all looked at the tree he was pointing at and saw two Pokémon slowly climbing the tree. "Hey... is that a Caterpie and a Weedle?" said Pat curiously. "Yep. That's them." Celina replied. We watched them climb upto a branch and began eating some leaves. "I guess that they were just hungry." said Sora. "Yeah. Leaves and grass are the natural food source for these two Pokémon. It helps them grow stronger day by day." Pat replied. "Wow. How do you know about that?" Sora replied. "My sister taught me. She raised them both when she started her journey." Pat replied. "And this was before she wanted to become a Nurse, right?" Zuzu asked. "Yep." Pat replied happily. "What made her decide to become a Nurse? Was it Nurse Joy?" Sora asked him. "Mhm. It was because of how she saw Nurse Joy taking care of Pokémon. She's been her idol ever since she was 5 years old." he replied. "Whoa... that's very cool, Pat. Did she have to learn how to make medicine to heal Pokémon?" Sora replied. Pat nodded his head yes to his question; making him smile.
"And because of her dream, it had inspired you to make inventions to help people and Pokémon?" Celina asked him. "Yeah. Her dream and the thought of helping others in need had inspired me to become an Inventor. I dream that one day that the inventions I make will help both people and Pokémon live better lives together. I want to make new tech for Pokémon Centers to help heal Pokémon faster... and make tech for companies to use for keeping the environment safe from natural and man-made disasters. That is my ultimate dream." he replied. "That's amazing! I hope to see you make your dreams come true one day!" Sora replied happily. "Munchlax!" Munchlax agreed. "Thank you. That means a lot." Pat replied happily. Zach, Zuzu, and Celina smiled warmly at the two boys, and then turned to me; seeing me walk silently. "Is she okay?" Celina asked them. "I think so?" Zach replied curiously. "Taylor?" said Zuzu. "Hm?" I replied curiously as I turned to her. "You alright? You've been pretty quiet for a bit. Thinking about the Gym Battle?" she asked me. "Mhm. That... and thinking about what Pokémon I could find in the Forest." I replied.
"Ah... I see that you want to find something that would surprise the Gym Leader?" said Zach. I nodded my head yes to his response. "But what could be found in there... besides Pidgey and some Bug types?" Zuzu asked us. "You can find a Pikachu there." I replied. "Wait really!?" she replied in shock. "Mhm. That's where Red found his Pikachu when he was on his journey." I replied. "That's amazing! What do you think, Vulpix? Maybe we can find a Pikachu and catch one of our own to help us in the Contest?" she replied happily. "Vul!" Vulpix replied happily. I smiled happily to the response, and then I heard my phone begin to beep. "Huh?" I said as I took it out. "Who is it? Someone in the group text?" Zach asked me. I stared at the text for a moment and then realized who it was from. I quickly hid my phone from the group; keeping the identity a secret. "Tay? Who texted you?" Celina asked me as Pat and Sora turned to us; wondering what we we're talking about. "...Nobody..." I lied. "That's it. Give me the phone." she replied. I shook my head no to her and hid my phone in my jacket pocket. "Tay... I just wanna see who texted you. I'm not going to hack it. Just hand it over." she said. "Celina, wait... what if it's from Yuto?" Zuzu replied. "Yuto!?" said the boys in shock.
Celina's eyes widened in shock for a moment, and then both she and Zuzu turned to me with mysterious smiles on their faces; making me nervous. "Tay... is it from him?" Celina asked me. I looked at her and Zuzu nervously, and then nodded my head yes to her. "Well... what did he say?" Zuzu asked. "I... I haven't read it yet... I just got the text literally a couple minutes ago." I replied. "Is it in the group text? Or is it a private text?" she replied. "Uh..." I replied nervously; feeling my face turn pink. "Taylor... it's okay. If it's private, you should keep it to yourself. Don't let them force you to show it." said Pat. "Huh!?" the girls replied in shock. "Yeah. If it's a message just only for you... only you should read it." Pat replied. "...Thanks, Pat." I replied. "You're welcome." he replied. I lightly smiled, turned away, and took out my phone again; reading Yuto's text for the first time.
Yuto: Hey, Taylor. I'm sorry that I didn't respond to the group text. I was doing some training near Saffron City until my brothers gave me an earful about it at the Center. I hope that you are not mad at me. I never wanted to make you upset and worried... especially about my safety. I promise to tell you and our group what I'm up too from now on. But I just want to say that you have a very interesting team. They look like they completely love and trust you. And you are also a great battler. The way you battled against Celina was incredible. You left us speechless when we watched the videos Zuzu and Zach sent us. Now I gotta keep my eyes on you for battle updates ;). Anyways, I should let you continue your journey. I wish you luck on your Gym battle in Pewter City. I'll be rooting for you all the way! And I hope to see you again soon! Oh! And I hope that your arm is okay! When Yuya told me what his Boltund did to you, I got worried. I hope the wound isn't too serious and you make a full recovery soon! *Hugs*
I smiled at the text happily and felt my heart warm up. Just to see a message from him has made my day a little bit better. I blinked my eyes once, stared at the screen, and began to text him back.
Taylor: Hi, Yuto! I'm glad to hear that you are doing well. And no worries, I'm not mad at you about the group text. I'm just worried about your safety, that's all. I want to make sure that my best friend is not getting into trouble or doing something reckless... unlike me and the arm bite. Oh! Thank you for the compliment about my team! They do look very interesting, but I bet your team looks a little more interesting than mine. Maybe you can give me a sneak peek of your current team? It's up too you if you want to show me. And, I never knew that Zach and Zuzu took videos of me and Celina's battle. I'll have a talk with them later about it... but I'm glad that I left you and your brothers surprised about the results... but the truth is... that battle never ended the way we wanted it too. I'm pretty sure that my group told you guys what had happened after the battle. Maybe I'll ask Celina for a rematch when I'm done with Pewter City. Anyways, I should let you get back to hanging out with your brothers. You guys deserve some time to hang out together. I hope to see you again soon! *Hugs back*
I lightly smiled at my text, sent it, and put my phone away. "Pika-pi?" said Tetrax curiously as I did that. "Hm?" I replied curiously as I turned to him. He had tilted his head lightly and I saw a curious look on his face; wondering why the text had made me smile. I gently petted his head and gave him a kiss on the cheek; making him blush. "Pika..." he said. "Don't worry, buddy. He's a very good friend of mine. I promise." I replied. "Pikachu." he replied. He blinked his eyes and then looked straight ahead of us; seeing the entrance to the Forest in the distance. "There it is. Viridian Forest." said Sora. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's see what the Forest has in store for us." Celina replied. We all nodded our heads in agreement to her response, and began making our way to the entrance.
Viridian Forest
"Wow... it's beautiful. Look how tall the trees are." said Sora as he looked up at the trees. "Munch." Munchlax replied in awe. "Yeah. Those tall trees must be good homes for Flying type Pokémon." Pat replied. "And for Bug types too. With all those leaves on the trees, all the Caterpie and Weedle that live here can eat them in peace and become stronger." I replied. "Yeah! Hmm... I wonder which Pokémon I should find and catch first?" Sora replied. "It's all up too you, Sora. Just make sure that you don't catch a Pokémon that is already owned by a Trainer." Celina replied. Sora nodded his head in understanding, gently put his Munchlax down on the ground, and smiled happily at it. "Okay, Munchlax. Let's go find some Pokémon!" he said happily. "Munch-lax!" Munchlax replied happily. After that, they ran off from us. "Sora!" said Zuzu. "I'll go after him." Celina sighed. "You sure? I think he can handle himself." Pat replied. "Yeah, but it's his Munchlax I'm worried about. If it doesn't find enough food to eat... it's not going to listen to him." Celina replied. "Ah... I see. Well then, what if I come with you? I can help in finding some food for Munchlax to eat... if that's cool with you." he replied.
She was a little surprised from his response. She thought about it for a moment, and then lightly smiled at him. "Sure. You can come with me." she said. He smiled warmly at her, and then the two of them began walking away from us. "Don't get yourselves into trouble." said Zach. "We won't." they replied. After that, they began running after Sora. "Well... now that they're chasing him... what do you girls want to do?" Zach asked us. "Hmm..? Maybe we can try to find a Pikachu? If it is true of what Taylor said that they live here... maybe we can find one and catch it." Zuzu replied to him. "Sure. That sounds good to me. What do you think, Tay?" he replied. "Yeah. Sounds good to me too." I replied with a light smile. After that, we began walking through the Forest together; helping Zuzu find a Pikachu.
As we looked around for ten minutes, I heard a loud snap of a tree branch nearby. My team looked up and around us; wondering where the branch that snapped was. "Hm? Tay? What's wrong?" Zach asked me as I looked around. "Did you guys hear a big branch snap?" I replied as I looked at him. "No." he replied curiously. "I didn't hear anything." Zuzu replied. "Huh... I guess that I'm just hearing things." I replied. "Or maybe you just have a strong sense of hearing. To hear something like that from far away... that's very impressive." Zach replied. I began to blush from his compliment and turned away from him; looking up at the trees. "Th-thanks." I said shyly. "No problem." he replied. My team looked at me and saw the blush on my face for the first time. Dragonfire smirked at me, took my hat off my head, and gently patted my head. He then gave my hat to Aurasoul and watched him put it on his head. He then smirked and did one of my Trainer poses; making me laugh happily. "You trying to be me again?" I said. He made a happy sound and did another of my Trainer poses; making me and my team laugh happily. Zach and Zuzu turned around, saw what Aurasoul was doing, and began to smile and laugh too.
Aurasoul took off my hat, brushed off any dirt or dust on it with his paw, and put it back on my head. "Thank you, Aurasoul." I said. He nodded his head happily to me, and then we all heard something rustle in the grass. "What was that?" said Zuzu. "Let's find out." Zach replied as he took out a PokéBall. We stayed silent as the grass rustled, and then we saw the Pokémon appear for the first time. "Hey... it's a Pikachu. Tay was right. Pikachu do live in the Forest after all." said Zach as he lowered the PokéBall in his hand. The Pikachu stood up on its hind legs, looked around, saw us looking at it, and then looked at Tetrax. "Pika-chu?" it said. Tetrax jumped off my shoulder, slowly walked over towards the wild Pikachu, and stood up on his hind legs. "Pika." he said kindly with a wave of his paw. The wild Pikachu then walked over to him and began walking around him; looking at his differences towards it. "What's it doing?" Zuzu asked me. "Checking him out. Seeing what makes him different from the Pikachu here." I replied. "Wouldn't that make him feel uncomfortable?" she replied. "As long as his scars aren't touched, he should be fine." I replied. Tetrax looked at the Pikachu nervously, watched it stand up, and saw it stare at his green eyes. "Pi-Pika..." he said nervously as it stepped closer to him. His reaction surprised the wild Pikachu for a second. It took a couple steps back, turned to a bush, walked over to it, and pulled out a Oran Berry from it. It then turned back to him, and offered the Berry to him. "Pika-chu." it said; as if it was saying sorry for scaring him. He blinked his eyes once, took a couple steps forward, and gently took the Berry. The wild Pikachu smiled warmly at him, grabbed another Oran Berry, and then the two of them began eating the Berries together. "Pika." said Tetrax happily. "Pika-pi." the wild Pikachu replied. They ate the Berries happily, and Tetrax introduced our teams to the Pikachu; making it comfortable around them.
As this was happening, Zuzu took out her Phone and activated her PokéDex. "Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. An Electric type. Pikachu have pouches on their cheeks that can store electricity, which they release if threatened. Male and female Pikachu have differently shaped tails." said Zuzu's PokéDex. She blinked her eyes, and then looked at the wild Pikachu; seeing that its tail was different from Tetrax's. "Hey... this Pikachu is a girl. Look at her tail." she said. We looked at the Pikachu's tail and saw the V shaped notch at the tip of the tail for the first time. "Yeah. It's a girl alright. Only female Pikachu have that V shaped notch on their tails." I replied. Zuzu knelt down to the ground and gently put her Vulpix down onto the grass. Vulpix then slowly walked over to Tetrax and his new friend; seeing them turn and look at her. "Vulpix." she greeted kindly. "Pika-chu." Pikachu replied kindly. "Wow... she's so calm and kind." said Zach. "Yeah." Zuzu replied. A couple seconds later, the female Pikachu and Zuzu looked at each other face to face for the first time. They were surprised of each other at first, but Vulpix stepped in and calmly introduced her new friend to her Trainer. Zuzu slowly lifted her hand towards Pikachu; making her curious. She walked over to her, sniffed her hand, began lightly wagging her tail, and then let her pet her head; making her happy.
"She likes you already." I said as Tetrax jumped back up on my shoulder. "She does?" she replied curiously. "Mhm. I can tell when a Pikachu is happy." I replied. "Pika-chu." Tetrax replied with a smile. She blinked her eyes, smiled warmly, and stopped petting the Pikachu. The Pikachu turned around and saw Tetrax sitting on my shoulder. She stared at him silently for a moment, looked back at Zuzu, back at Tetrax, and then back at Zuzu again. "Pika?" said Tetrax curiously as he tilted his head. "Huh? What's wrong?" Zach asked. "I don't know?" Zuzu replied. The Pikachu walked upto her and then touched her hand with her paw. "Pikachu?" she said. The Pikachu blinked her blue eyes, looked at Vulpix as she nodded her head, and then looked back up at Zuzu. "She wants you to catch her." I said. "Huh?" Zuzu replied. "She wants to travel with you and Vulpix." I replied. She blinked her eyes and looked down at the Pikachu; seeing a glimmer of light in her blue eyes. "Pikachu..? Do you... do you want to come with me?" she asked her. "Pika-chu!" she replied happily.
Zuzu smiled with glee at her, and then took out a PokéBall from her bag. Pikachu smiled happily and then touched the button of the PokéBall; beginning the capture process. When the PokéBall closed, it immediately made a dinging sound; confirming the capture. "Alright! I caught a Pikachu!" said Zuzu happily. "Vul-Vulpix!" Vulpix replied happily. Zach and I smiled happily at their celebration. Zuzu looked down at the PokéBall, gently threw it in the air, and saw her Pikachu appear. "Pikachu." she said happily. She then ran upto Zuzu, climbed up, and sat on her shoulder. The two of them looked at each other and smiled happily a couple seconds later. "Hey... now we have two Pikachu's in the group." said Zach. Zuzu and I looked at each other for a second, and then to our Pikachu's; seeing them smile happily to each other. "Two is better than one, right?" she said to me. "Right." I replied. We smiled happily at each other, and then we all went back to walking through the Forest.
As we walked, Zach saw a lone Weedle crawling on the ground. His Squirtle looked down at it for a second, and then jumped out of Zach's arms; wanting to battle. "Squirtle!" said Zach surprised. "Looks like Squirtle wants to do some training. Right, little guy?" I replied. "Squirtle!" it replied. I smiled warmly at it, walked over, and knelt down to it. "I can see it in your eyes. The determination. The dream. You want to become Zach's strongest Pokémon, right? Ever since you saw his brother's Blastoise in battle, you wanted to become as strong as it one day. But deep inside your heart... you want to become stronger than it. You want to be the strongest Blastoise that the world has ever seen. But do you know how a trained Pokémon becomes so strong? It comes from the bond that the Pokémon has with it's Trainer. The way how a Trainer cares for them is how they perform better in battles and become stronger, but it also how far the Trainer will go to befriend, protect, and care for the Pokémon that they caught. When a Pokémon sees that in their Trainer, they have gained their respect and are willing to form a special, unbreakable bond with them." I replied. "Tay..." Zach replied.
"Now look at your Trainer. What do you see in him? Do you believe that he is the one that will help you become strong? Does he truly see the determination in your eyes?" I said as Squirtle turned to Zach. The two of them stared at each other silently for a moment, and then Zach saw a glimmer of light in Squirtle's eyes. Once he saw that, his eyes lightly widened in surprise, and then relaxed. "Squirtle... I see it now. I see now what Taylor was talking about. Your dream... determination... and hope. They're just like Blue's Blastoise when he was a Squirtle. That's something that you want to accomplish, right?" he said. "Squirtle." Squirtle replied as it nodded its head yes to his words. "And when we first met... did you see something special in me?" he asked. Squirtle blinked its eyes and nodded its head yes to the question. They stared at each other silently for a few more seconds, and then smiled at each other in understanding. I stood back up, turned around, and saw that the Weedle was gone. "Huh? Where did it go?" I said as the group saw what I saw. "Maybe it went to find some more leaves?" Zuzu replied. "Maybe..?" I replied as I began walking.
We kept on walking through the Forest for a few more minutes, and then we heard a buzzing sound coming from one of the trees nearby. We readied ourselves for what will appear, and looked around silently for a moment. "You heard it too?" Zach asked us. "Yep." Zuzu replied. "Pika-chu." Zuzu's Pikachu replied. "Vul." Vulpix replied. The buzzing sound had grew louder, and then we saw the one who was making the sound appear for the first time. "What is that!?" said Zuzu. "It's a Beedrill." Zach replied as he took out his Phone. "Beedrill?" Zuzu replied. "Beedrill. The Poison Bee Pokémon. And the evolved form of Kakuna. Beedrill is extremely territorial. No one should ever approach its nest-this is for their own safety. If angered, they will attack in a furious swarm." said Zach's PokéDex. Our eyes widened in shock as we saw an angry look in Beedrill's eyes. "Drill! Bee-drill!" it said as it flew up and then down at us; aiming its stinger at us. Zach stared it angrily for a second and then we ducked down from the incoming attack. "Squirtle! Use Ice Beam on its stinger!" he said. "Squirt! Squir-tle!" Squirtle replied as it used the attack; hitting the stinger successfully.
Beedrill fell down and looked at its frozen stinger for the first time. It then used its stinger-like arms to break the ice and fly back up in the air; now more angrier than before. It's stinger arms glew purple and began quickly flying down towards Squirtle. "Dodge it with Rapid Spin!" said Zach. "Squirtle!" Squirtle replied as it dodged the attack and stood in front of its Trainer; ready for what comes next. "Beedrill! Bee-" said Beedrill as it tried using the same attack again; this time aiming for Zach. "Aurasoul! Blaze Kick!" I said. Aurasoul jumped in the air, set his right foot ablaze, and then kicked Beedrill down to the ground; stopping its attack. He gently landed back down on the ground, and looked at Zach and Squirtle. "Thanks, Aurasoul." said Zach. "Squirtle-squirt!" Squirtle replied; giving him a thumbs up. Aurasoul nodded his head in thanks and gave them a thumbs up too. We looked down at the Beedrill and saw it slowly stand back up. "Now's your chance, Zach. Catch it!" I said. "Right! PokéBall, go!" he replied as he took out a PokéBall and threw it at Beedrill. It hit Beedrill on the head and began the capture process. It closed and landed on the ground a few seconds later; shaking three times and then confirmed the capture.
We breathed a sigh of relief after that. "That was a close one." said Zuzu. "Yeah... but at least no one got hurt this time." Zach replied. "That's true." she replied. Zach picked up Beedrill's PokéBall, threw it in the air, and watched it open; seeing his new Pokémon appear. "Bee-drill." it said. "Hey... it's a lot more calm now." he said. "Drill." Beedrill replied as it nodded its head to his response. "There you guys are!" said a voice. We turned around and saw Pat, Celina, Sora, and their Pokémon appear. "Hey, guys. How did things go with Munchlax?" said Zach. "It was interesting. Sora found a tree that had a nest full of Honey and Munchlax began eating it like crazy. I tried to stop them, but Celina and Fearow got them out of the tree before a swarm of Beedrill attacked them." Pat replied. "Like I told you, once Munchlax smells food nearby... there's no way in stopping him." Celina replied. "Yeah, but after he ate, he used Metronome for the first time in a while, and blasted them away with Fire Blast. Right, buddy?" Sora replied. "Munch!" Munchlax replied happily. "So he should be good to go for training now?" Zach replied. "Yep!" Sora replied happily.
We smiled happily at the group, but then I saw something sitting on Pat's shoulder. "Hey... you finally caught a Pidgey." I said to him. He smiled happily to my response and looked at his new friend on his shoulder. "Yep! Found her when we were searching for them. She put up a good fight against Rattata, but once she took on Bulbasaur... it was all over from there." he replied. "Bulba!" Bulbasaur replied confidently. "What about you guys? What Pokémon did you guys get?" Celina asked us. "Zuzu... Zach..." I replied as I turned to them. "Well... I caught Beedrill." Zach replied. "Bee-drill." Beedrill replied. "Nice, man." Pat replied. "Thanks. It put up a good battle against Squirtle, but I had some help from Aurasoul to calm it down." Zach replied. "Squirt." Squirtle replied. "And I caught Pikachu." Zuzu replied. "Pika-pi." Zuzu's Pikachu replied. "Whoa... Taylor was right. There are Pikachu that live here in the Forest." Celina replied. "I told you." I replied. The boys lightly laughed happily to what I said. "Aren't you a cute little one?" said Celina as she gently patted Zuzu's Pikachu's head. "Pi-ka~" she replied happily. We smiled warmly at the little moment and then stood by each other again.
"What about you, Taylor? Did you catch anything here yet?" Sora asked me. "Me? Nope. Not yet." I replied. "Aw, man. Well, hopefully something will appear and you'll catch it soon." he replied. "Thanks, Sora." I replied with a light smile. He smiled and nodded his head in response, and then we all kept on walking through the Forest. As we walked, Sora caught himself a Bellsprout. After the capture, he told us that he caught it for his Mom; hoping it would be a good help with her garden back home. He, Zach, and Pat had a few battles with Bug type Trainers and won them. After the battles, we found a spot in the Forest to sit down and set up camp for the day. "Wow, Zach... I didn't know that you can cook." said Pat. "Yep. My parents taught me how to." Zach replied as he was cooking a meal. "It smells really good. I can almost taste it." Sora replied. Zach smiled at them and then turned to Celina and Zuzu; seeing them set up the table. "There we go. I think we did a pretty good job setting this up." said Celina. "Mhm. It looks great. Though... we could've used a little more help." Zuzu replied. "From Tay?" Celina replied. "Well you did send her on a Berry hunt." Zuzu replied. "I did? Oh yeah..." Celina replied. "You sent Taylor on a what?" Zach asked them.
The girls turned to the boys; seeing them put the food down on the table and looking at them. "Celina sent Taylor on a Berry hunt." Zuzu told them. "Really? I didn't know that Berry trees were around here?" Pat replied. "They are. You just have to find them without getting stung." Celina replied. "How long has she been gone?" Pat replied. "A half hour." Zuzu replied. "Wow. I wonder what kinds of Berries did she find?" Sora replied. "Come look at the basket and find out." replied a voice. The group turned around and saw me and my Pokémon return to the campsite. As I stopped, the group noticed two new Pokémon on my shoulders. "What the..? Tay? Did you catch that Caterpie and Weedle?" Zuzu asked me. "These two? Yep. Caught them near one of the Berry trees. They were battling others of their kind for leaves before battling us." I replied. "So now you have seven Pokémon in total? Shouldn't one of them be in the Storage System at Oak's Lab right now?" she replied. "Yeah. One of them should be, but it's not... thanks to this bad boy." I replied as I gently put the basket down on the table, opened my Bag, and took out the item from it. "What is that?" she asked.
"It's the Pokémon Box Link. It's connected to the Storage System of my Trainer account. And with this machine, I don't have to go to a Pokémon Lab or Center to transfer my Pokémon. I can do all the transferring nearly anywhere I go." I replied as she and the group looked at the machine. "Whoa... that's so cool!" said Sora. "Right?" I replied. "Who gave you this?" Zach asked me. "Pat did. He's the one who invented it." I replied. "Wait what!? He made it!?" he replied in shock. "Yep. I did. I thought of this device two years ago. When I made it, I wondered how Trainers would feel if they can actually take their Pokémon everywhere they go, instead of traveling with only six at a time. So, I invented the Pokémon Box Link! It carries all of the PokéBalls that are not currently not on your Party, and the data of the Pokémon you caught are all connected to your Storage System account that the Professor's and Nurse's can check to see how your Pokémon are doing." Pat replied. "Wow, dude... that's amazing!" Zach replied. "Hehe... thanks, man. Maybe I can make some more of the machine for you and all of us soon." Pat replied sheepishly. "Sure. And hey, maybe you can make these machines for future Trainers one day. Think of how much it will help them bond with their Pokémon on their journeys?" Zach replied. "Yeah! Think of all the smiles they would have on their faces when they can be with all of their Pokémon everywhere they go?" Sora replied. Pat thought about what they said for a moment, and then smiled warmly at the idea. "You know what? You guys make a good point. Alright! It's all settled! I will make more of the Pokémon Box Link for future Trainer's all around the world! This will be the greatest invention that all Professor's, Nurse's, and Researcher's will ever see!" he said happily. "Yeah!" Sora cheered happily. We smiled happily at them and then looked back at the Berries in the basket.
"How did the Berry hunt go?" Celina asked me. "It went fine. Had to keep some Beedrill and Butterfree away though. Gave me a good reason to train Hurricane and Nidoran for a bit against them and a couple Trainers." I replied. "To test out their speed?" she replied. "That... and I wanted to see if Nidoran was ready to learn a new move before the Gym Battle." I replied. "Ah... you plan on using him for the battle?" she replied. "Mhm. I was hoping that I can teach him either a Fighting type or Water type move before facing the Gym Leader. Pull off a little surprise attack, if you know what I mean." I replied. "I getcha, but don't rush it with him okay? You'll know when your Nidoran is ready to learn a new move. Same with your other Pokémon too. Not every Pokémon wants to be a battler." she replied. "That's true. Man, that advice you told me is exactly the same thing my brother told me." I replied. "Really?" she replied. "Yep. He told me that after helping me train my Pokémon at the League a few years ago. Ever since that, I've been really patient with my Pokémon; letting them tell me how they feel about things. If they're not in the mood for battles or training, I let them kick back and relax until they're ready. If something is mentally or emotionally bothering them, I try to spend as much time with them and try to truly understand them." I replied. "Wow... you really take the whole bonding thing to heart, do you?" she replied. I nodded my head yes to her response. "I guess that's why you have a very strong bond with your first three Pokémon. You allow them to express their feelings and thoughts, and you understand and accept them for who they are." she replied. I nodded my head to her response, and then turned to my team; seeing them playing with each other.
"So, Taylor? What did you and the girls need the Berries for?" Sora asked me. "The Berries? Oh! Well, you see... when you three were busy prepping and cooking: we were talking about the past Contest that Zuzu was in, and how she used these things called PokéBlocks to improve Vulpix's beauty. When we learned that these little treats were made by Berries, I asked to go out and find some Berries for her to help her get ready for the Contest in Vermilion City." I replied. "Is that true?" Zach asked. "Yep. It's true." Zuzu replied. "Heh, that's our Tay. Always helping and caring for others before herself." Zach replied as he began putting our meal on our plates. I felt my heart skip a beat after hearing him say that and began to blush. "Th-thanks, Zach." I said. "You're welcome, bud." he replied. After that, we gave our Pokémon their food, sat down on our chairs, and began eating our meal together. When I give my Pokémon their food, I usually sneak in their daily Vitamins to make sure that they stay healthy. They're lucky that they don't see me put them in their food bowls. If I showed them the Vitamins, they would push my hand away and stick their tongues out at me in disgust; showing me that they don't want it (making me remind myself of doing the same thing when I refuse to take cold medicine from Mom and Red when I was younger).
As we ate, I took off my glove and looked at my Mark silently. As I looked at it, I had flashbacks of when I used my powers when I was six and then when I was fighting the Fearow; noticing the differences I had in personality when using them. I put my glove back on and continued eating silently; listening to the group's conversation. "Hey Sora? How long have you known Celina and Yuri?" said Pat. "Um... about a few months now. When I first heard about them in the Academy from other students, I was afraid of them; knowing how strong they are. But once I began to train and learn alongside them, I saw that they weren't scary people. They are Trainers that one day want to be a part of the Battle Frontier and aspire many people that want to achieve the same goal as them." Sora replied. "The Battle Frontier?" Pat replied curiously. "Mhm. To some Trainers, being a Frontier Brain is a lot more important than being a Champion. When you defeat the seven known Frontier Brains and earn their Symbols, you have the opportunity to become a Frontier Brain and become one of the strongest Trainers in the entire world!" Sora replied. "That's right, Sora. And I'm going to be a Frontier Brain before Yuri." Celina replied. "Ah... I see now. You two made a bet on who will become Frontier Brain first?" Zach replied. "Yep. He may have the smarts, but I have the guts to take on the Frontier Brains and win the Symbols before he makes the first attack." Celina replied.
"And I will cheer you on all the way!" Pat replied as he stood up from his seat with a blush on his face; surprising all of us. "Whoa... where did that sudden burst come from?" Sora asked nervously. "He's always been like this; especially when it comes to certain people in the group." Zuzu replied. "Really?" he replied curiously. She nodded her head yes to him, and then all of a sudden... we heard a loud snap of a big branch near our campsite. I quickly stood up and turned to my left; knowing that was where the sound came from. All of our Pokémon ran over to us and began to defend us from intruders. "What was that?" said Zach. "Sounds like someone was having a battle." Celina replied. I blinked my eyes and then ran off from the group. "Taylor!" they said in shock as I jumped down the hill with my Pokémon and kept on running. "Come on! Let's see where they go." said Zach. "Right." Celina replied. The group began following my lead a few seconds later.
As I ran, I began hearing a voice of a Pokémon ahead. We stopped running a few seconds later, hid behind a few trees and bushes, looked out to an open area in front of us, and saw what was happening. "Come on, little Bulbasaur. Just give up and get caught in this here PokéBall! If you do that, my Pinsir here will stop attacking." said a Trainer. "Pin-sir." Pinsir replied in a sinister tone. The Bulbasaur shook off the pain it had and stared down its opponent. "Bul-ba!" said Bulbasaur before it collapsed to the ground. "Heh. Very well... you leave me no choice. Pinsir! Use Guillotine!" said the Trainer. "No! Stop! Leave that Bulbasaur alone!" replied a voice. The Trainer and Pinsir turned around and saw a young female Trainer appear and point her finger at them. "This Bulbasaur is not yours to capture! Stay away from him!" she told them. "I don't think so, lady. Pinsir! Guillotine!" the Trainer replied. "Sir! Pin-sir!" Pinsir replied as it began to use the attack and run towards Bulbasaur.
My eyes widened in shock and began to glow green. As they glew, I charged after the Pinsir alone, jumped in front of the injured Bulbasaur, and grabbed the Pinsir's pincers; stopping the attack. "Pinsir!?" said Pinsir in shock. The two Trainers stared at me in shock; seeing the strength I have to hold Pinsir back. The Bulbasaur slowly stood up and looked at me; seeing me defend him. His eyes lightly widened in shock and awe to see a stranger come to its defense. My group appeared a moment later, and saw what I was doing. "Whoa! How is she doing that!?" said Sora in shock. I growled loudly at Pinsir and used my strength to throw it back near it's Trainer's feet. "You heard the lady. Leave this Bulbasaur alone. If you try to harm and capture him again, I will personality report you to the Viridian City Police." I said. The Trainer was agitated from response, but once he saw his Pinsir stand back up and hide behind him; he knew that he lost the battle. He and Pinsir left the area a few seconds later. I turned around, and knelt down to Bulbasaur; seeing him looking up at me. "You okay, buddy?" I asked him as my eyes turned back to normal.
He stared at me silently and then saw me extend my hand to it. He blinked his eyes and slapped my hand away with one of his vines. I shook the pain off my hand, stood up, and took a few steps back; seeing the defensive look on his face. "Bulbasaur!" said Bulbasaur in a defensive tone. I looked at him silently and then turned around; seeing the lady run upto us. "Bulbasaur! Are you okay?" she said as she ran towards him. Bulbasaur looked at her silently and then began to walk away towards the cabin and pond nearby. The lady stood up and looked at Bulbasaur sadly as he walked away. "You okay?" I asked her. "Hm? Oh. Yes, I'm okay. I'm just..." she replied. "Worried about him?" I replied. She looked at me surprised for a second, and then we looked back at the Bulbasaur as he layed down and began to sleep under the sunlight. "Does he belong to you?" I asked her. "Nope. He's wild." she replied. "He's wild?" I replied curiously. She nodded her head yes to my question. "He was released and abandoned here by his former Trainer three years ago. He was the Trainer's Starter when he came here to try to get the first Gym Badge of the League. But... they were outsmarted by the Gym Leader's ace. In frustration, the Trainer released Bulbasaur here in the Forest, told him that he was slow and weak, and that he'll find a better Grass type to win the Badge. Ever since that day, Bulbasaur has no trust in humans, and has been training himself to learn stronger moves." she replied.
"But... he seemed to trust you..?" I replied. "Only when I heal him. He usually can take care of himself, but when he comes out of battles like that with that Trainer you saw... he needs me to help heal him." she replied. "I see... it must've taken a lot of time for him to trust you to do that?" I replied. "Mhm." she replied. We watched Bulbasaur sleep for a couple more minutes, and then looked at each other again. "Has anyone else tried to catch him?" I asked her. "Only a few people have tried, but the only one who keeps on trying is Weevil." she replied. "Weevil?" I replied. "The Trainer with the Pinsir." she replied. "Oh... I guess he must be a real stinkbug of a person." I replied. She lightly smiled and laughed at my response. "Hm?" I said curiously. "I'm sorry. What you said about Weevil was funny." she replied. "Heh... thanks." I replied with a light smile. "Taylor!" said a voice. We turned around and saw my group and our Pokémon run upto us. "Hey guys." I said. "Are you alright, Taylor? Did that Pinsir hurt you?" Pat asked me. "Yeah, I'm alright. No scratches on me at all." I replied. "But still... that was really dangerous on what you did. You do know that the strength of Pinsir's pincers could've fatally hurt you?" he replied. "I know... but..." I replied. "You were defending that Bulbasaur? We know. We saw and heard the whole thing." Celina replied.
We all turned towards the cabin and saw Bulbasaur wake up and look at us from afar. He stared at all the Pokémon silently for a moment and then ran over to us; standing guard of the lady. My Nidoran and Hurricane stared him down; ready to battle. "Nidoran! Hurricane! Stop it!" I said. "Gey?" Hurricane replied. "Nido?" Nidoran replied. "This Bulbasaur is injured. Look at his wounds. Pinsir gave him a few really good cuts. He needs time to heal before he can battle again." I said. They looked at the wounds and then stepped back from Bulbasaur; not wanting to anger him anymore. "Anyways. We should get going. I hope that no one comes near your home and does this again." I said as I picked up my Nidoran. "No worries. And Taylor... thank you... for defending Bulbasaur. I really appreciate it." the lady replied. "You're welcome. And Bulbasaur... take care of yourself out there. Who knows? Maybe you will see that not all humans are bad in the future." I replied. "Bul-ba..." Bulbasaur replied sternly. After that, me and my group left and went back to our campsite. As we left, the lady went inside the cabin and Bulbasaur stared at the path we left on silently; debating on if he should follow or not.
Campsite- A few hours later
"There. The campfire is now all set up and ready to go!" said Zach. "Nice work, Zach." I replied. "Thanks, Tay." he replied. "You're welcome." I replied. After I said that, I quietly turned to my left and looked out to the path of the cabin. Zach stood up and saw where I was looking; making him concerned. "You worried about that Bulbasaur, aren't you?" he asked me. I turned to him and sadly nodded my head yes to him. He blinked his eyes and gently put his hand on my shoulder. "He'll be okay. I promise. If he's managed to handle himself for all this time on his own... I'm sure that he will find someone that he will find worthy to raise him." he said. "I know. But after hearing how his Trainer abandoned him here years ago... it just made my heart break for him. To see how frustration took over that Trainer's head and blamed Bulbasaur for their own mistakes... it really hurt him mentally and emotionally; making him not trust people anymore. Whoever that Trainer was... they didn't deserve to do this to him." I replied. "I agree, but if he wants to trust humans again... he needs to open his heart up to people a little bit. It may take time, but you need to understand that it's up to him to make that choice." he replied.
I nodded my head in understanding, and Zach gently patted my shoulder; comforting me. We lightly smiled at each other and looked into each other's eyes silently. "Yo! Tay! Zach!" said a voice. We jumped in shock, blushed, and quickly turned around; seeing Pat, Zuzu, Celina, and Sora looking at us. "We're going to do some training. You wanna come with us?" Sora asked us. "Yeah, sure." Zach replied. "Awesome!" Sora replied happily. "Come on, you two! Let's go!" Pat replied happily as he and Sora ran with their Pokémon. We watched them leave and then turned to each other. Zach lightly blushed and extended his hand to me. I lightly blushed at his action and then gently took his hand; walking down the hill with him.
We walked to an open area and chose our training partners. Sora chose Pat, and I chose Zach. "So Tay? Which Pokémon are you going to train with first?" Zach asked me. "Nidoran!" my Nidoran replied as he jumped up at me a few times; wanting me to pick him. "I guess that Nidoran is first?" Zach asked me. "Yep. He's first." I replied; making Nidoran happy. We walked away from Pat and Sora and stood opposite sides of the area to each other. "You ready, Tay?" he said. "Ready whenever you are." I replied. "Okay! Squirtle, I choose you!" he replied. "Squirtle!" Squirtle replied happily. It jumped onto the field and smirked at Nidoran. "Nidoran! Let's go!" I said. "Ni-do! Nidoran!" Nidoran replied as he ran onto the field. "You have the first attack, Tay. Ladies first." said Zach. "Thanks. Okay, Nidoran! Use Poison Sting!" I replied. "Nido! Ni-do-ran!" Nidoran replied as he used the attack. "Block it with Bubble Beam!" said Zach. "Squirt! Squir-tle!" Squirtle replied as it used the attack; successfully stopping Poison Sting. "Nido!?" said Nidoran in a surprised tone. "Now use Rapid Spin!" said Zach.
"Squir-tle!" Squirtle replied as it hid in its shell, spun around, dashed forward, and hit Nidoran. "Ni-do!" Nidoran cried as he got hit and pushed back. "Nidoran!" I said in a worried tone. Squirtle reappeared and watched Nidoran stand up and shake off the pain. "You okay, Nidoran?" I asked him. He turned to me and nodded his head yes to my question. "Nido." he replied. I breathed a sigh of relief from his response, and we turned back to Zach and Squirtle. "Okay, use Horn Attack!" I said. "Nido! Ni-do!" Nidoran replied as his horn glew white and charged at Squirtle. "Dodge it!" said Zach. Squirtle smirked and quickly dodged the attack. "What!?" I said in shock. "Ice Beam! Go!" Zach replied. "Squirtle! Squir-tle!" Squirtle replied as it used the attack. Nidoran turned around, saw the attack, and jumped out of the way; watching the attack freeze a part of the ground. "Squirtle!?" said Squirtle surprised. "Wait what!? How did he move that quickly!?" said Zach in shock. "It's from the training Nidoran and Hurricane did earlier today. I wanted to help them focus on how to dodge attacks and how to counter them when they get hit. And during it all... Nidoran learnt a couple new things." I replied.
"New things?" Zach replied curiously. I nodded my head yes to his question. "And what did he learn?" he asked. "He learned this: Water Pulse!" I replied. "Nido! Ni-do-ran!" Nidoran replied as he made a blue sphere made of water appear in front of him and fired it at Squirtle; pushing it back. "Squirtle!" said Squirtle as it got pushed back. "Squirtle! You alright?" Zach asked it as it shook off the water. "Squirtle squirt." Squirtle replied as it nodded its head to him. "That's good. Now, use Tackle!" Zach replied. "Squirtle!" Squirtle replied as it used the attack. "Double Kick!" I said. Nidoran smirked, ran towards Squirtle, dodged the attack, jumped in the air, and kicked Squirtle two times; knocking it back to Zach. "Squirtle!" he said in a worried tone. Squirtle slowly stood up, turned to Zach, and looked into his eyes. They stared at each other silently for a moment, and then lightly smiled at each other. "You wanna keep going, don't you?" Zach asked it. "Squirtle." Squirtle replied. Zach nodded his head in understanding, and then he and Squirtle looked back at me and Nidoran. "Okay, Squirtle! Let's end this with Rapid Spin!" he said. "Squirt! Squir-tle!" Squirtle replied as it used the attack. "Horn Attack!" I said. Nidoran's horn glew white and he ran towards Squirtle; colliding attacks with it.
As the attacks collided, Pat and Sora turned around with their Pokémon and saw what was happening. Squirtle and Nidoran pushed each other away with their strength and landed back to us; staring each other down. They began to breath a little harder than before the training started; showing us how exhausted they are. Once we noticed this, we knew that it was time to take a break. We knelt down and gently picked up our Pokémon in our arms. "You did great, Nidoran. I'm so proud of you." I said. "Nido." Nidoran replied happily. "You did great too, Squirtle. You gave it all out there, and I am proud of you." said Zach. "Squirtle squirt." Squirtle replied happily. Zach walked over to me and we shook hands. "You're good, Tay. I think Squirtle and I learned a couple new things from you and Nidoran." he said. "Thanks, Zach. I think we learned a couple new things from you and Squirtle too." I replied. "Really? I can't wait to see that when we battle again." he replied. "Me too." I replied. We ended the handshake and smiled at each other happily. Squirtle and Nidoran smiled at each other happily too, and then we went back to the campsite together; healing them and letting them rest up with our teams.
When we got to the fire pit, we heard Zuzu shriek in fear of something. We quickly turned around and ran over to her and Celina. "What happened!?" I said concernedly. "My Berries... they're all gone! I was going to use them for making PokéBlocks, but they're gone!" Zuzu replied. "We're trying to figure out how it happened." Celina replied as she put her hand on Zuzu's shoulder; not wanting to see her cry. "Okay..? From what it looks like, it had to be from someone that was very hungry. They saw the Berries, took them out of the basket, and then ate them all." Zach replied. "But... who would do such a thing?" Zuzu replied. We thought about it for a moment, and then our minds clicked. We turned around and saw Sora's Munchlax sitting by Sora's bag with some of our Pokémon and was eating a Berry from his paw. "Found the culprit." I said. "Yep. Don't worry, Zuzu. We'll get you a bunch of new Berries." Celina replied. "Thank you guys. You really are the best." Zuzu replied; making us happy. I turned to the table and saw Berry seeds all over it. I blinked my eyes, looked up, and saw Zuzu, Celina, and Zach walking towards Munchlax. I turned back to the table, took the seeds, and put them in separate tiny plastic containers; labeling the top of the covers to identify each Berry seed.
"Pika-chu?" said a voice as I took off my jacket and put it on top of my Bag. "Hm?" I replied curiously. I turned around and saw my whole team behind me; noticing that I was feeling a little down about the Berry situation. "You all heard the whole thing?" I asked them. They nodded their heads yes to my question. I sighed for a few seconds and them showed them the containers with the seeds for the first time. "You know... I wish that there was a way to grow Berries quickly. If that would happen, Zuzu would have an unlimited supply of Berries to make PokéBlocks to help her Pokémon in Contests." I said. They blinked their eyes, stared at the containers, and then something clicked in Dragonfire's mind. He made a sound and raised his paw up in the air like a student in the classroom. "Hm? You got an idea, Dragonfire?" I asked him. He nodded his head to my question, walked over to a spot away from the tents, pointed down to the ground, walked back over to me, and then pointed at my right hand. I looked down at my hand for a few seconds, and then looked back up at him. "Oh? You want me to use my powers to make the Berry trees?" I asked him. He made a happy sound to answer my question.
I thought about the idea for a moment, and then walked over to the spot with the containers in hand. Once I looked at the spot, my team and I began making little spots in the ground to put the seeds in. We also made sure that the spots aren't too close to each other and to the campsite. After planting the seeds, we took a couple steps back and looked at the spots silently. As we looked, the group walked over to us and began to watch silently; wondering what we were up too. I blinked my eyes, walked over to the spots again, knelt down on my right knee, took off my glove, gently put my hands on the ground, closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and began to use my powers. My mark glew green and I opened my glowing green eyes; ready to use one of my abilities. I stared at the spots and made vines of energy on my back, made them grab onto branches on the trees nearby, made the spots and the ground below me glow light green, and then used my attack to make my energy become one with the Forest. Pat, Sora, Celina, Zuzu, Zach, and their Pokémon stared at me in shock and awe; wondering how can I do all this. As the ground glew, little sprouts of the Berry trees began to grow out of the ground. As I saw this, I made my eyes and the vines glow brighter; making my attack stronger. When I did that, the sprouts had become fully grown Berry trees and made tons of Berries grow in the trees. "Whoa..." said the group in awe. "This is amazing... She can use any attacks and abilities of Pokémon..." said Sora. "But... how?" Zach replied. "That's something we have to ask her." Zuzu replied.
The ground stopped glowing and revealed the fully grown trees with Berries for the first time. After that, I made the vines disappear and made my eyes stop glowing. I blinked my eyes, looked at the trees, smiled warmly at them, and then looked down at the Mark on my hand; seeing it stop glowing. I picked up my glove and put it back on my right hand. After that, I gently sat down on the grass, turned my hat backwards, and wiped off some sweat on my forehead. "You want some water, Tay?" said Celina. I turned around and saw the group looking at me. "Sure." I replied. "Here you go." she replied as she handed me a water bottle. "Thanks." I replied as I took it from her hand. I opened the bottle and drank the water for a couple seconds. I closed the bottle a few seconds later and put the bottle down on the grass. I stood up and stared at them silently for a moment; knowing that they saw what I have done. "Tay? Is there something you want to tell us?" Zuzu asked me. I blinked my eyes and then nodded my head yes to her.
Nighttime- Around the Campfire
"So, Tay... how did you get your powers? And that mark on your hand?" Pat asked me. I blinked my eyes, looked at the fire for a second, and then lifted my head up; looking at the group. "It all started when I was born." I replied. "In Pallet Town?" Sora asked me. I shook my head no to his question. "Nope. I was born in Celestic Town in the Sinnoh region." I replied. "Wait what!? You were born in Sinnoh!?" said Celina surprised. "Yep. You guys thought that I was born back in our hometown?" I replied. Zach, Zuzu, Pat, and Celina nodded their heads yes to my question. "Do you have any family in Celestic Town?" Zach asked me. "Mhm. My grandparents from my Mom's side. My family and I travel there every year to see them and stay at their place for a week; learning a lot of things about the region itself." I replied. "Wow... that town must be beautiful." Zuzu replied. "Yeah. It's beautiful alright. A lot of people travel there to learn about the ancients stories of Sinnoh and the world itself." I replied. "Man... I want to go there one day. Maybe there were people in the past that had invented things to help work alongside Pokémon?" Pat replied. "Maybe. And if they did, you would want to the world to see the evolution of the bond people and Pokémon have shared throughout time." Celina replied with a light smile; making Pat blush for a moment.
Zach and Sora smirked at Pat's reaction and then turned to each other. "He likes her, doesn't he?" Sora whispered. "Oh yeah. Big time." Zach whispered. Pat turned around, noticed the smirks on their faces, and glared at them; making them smirk even more. "Anyways... you were born in Celestic Town... at your grandparent's house?" Celina asked me. "Yep. I was born in their house during the yearly family vacation. According to everyone at the house at the time, I was born perfectly healthy... but once they saw the mark on my hand, they thought that it was strange." I replied. "Strange how? Did it start glowing in front of them?" Celina replied. I nodded my head yes to her question. "When it glew... it caught attention to all the Pokémon that lived in and around the Town. Once my grandparents noticed this... they told my parents about a story of two humans with powers that worked alongside a very powerful Pokémon to protect the world; becoming its Guardians." I replied. "Guardians? Of what?" Sora replied curiously. "I'm not sure. I wanted to know more about it when I was little, but my memories of it have been hazy." I replied. "Huh... that makes sense. Our early childhood memories mostly go hazy as we grow up." Sora replied. I nodded my head yes to his response.
"So after you found out you have powers... what did you and your family do?" Zach asked me. "My family told me not to use them anywhere but in Celestic Town. When I asked them why... they told me that it is the only place where we all feel safe for me to use and train my powers. So every year we went... I would go to a hidden training site and practice my powers there. But once we got home, I can't use them at all. So they gave me this glove to wear at all times; keeping it hidden and to keep me and everyone safe. But everytime my Mark glew for no reason, a rare Pokémon would appear near me and would either play or battle with me. I thought it was all normal, but what I didn't know is that it had gotten the interest of a certain group of people..." I replied. Zach and Pat's eyes widened in shock to my last response, and then quickly stood up. "Team Rocket!?" they said in shock. "Huh? Team Rocket? What about them?" Celina replied. "Team Rocket kidnapped Tay five years ago!" Pat replied. "What!?" Celina, Zuzu, and Sora replied in shock. I nodded my head yes to their response. "H-how did they find out about you?" Zuzu asked me. "Her Dad. He was a Scientist that worked for Team Rocket. Right, Tay?" Zach replied.
I nodded my head yes to his response. "Wait... Zach... now we know why Team Rocket kidnapped Tay... it was because of her powers! Her Dad must've talked about her and her powers too much, and it made Giovanni want to use her for his own benefits!" Pat replied; making the group shocked. A second later, I began to have flashbacks of my kidnapping, the experiments done on me, my destructive rampage, watching Giovanni run away from me, and meeting Mewtwo. I lowered my head and punched the ground with my right hand. Once the group saw me do that... they immediately noticed that something was wrong with me. Tetrax, Aurasoul, and Dragonfire quickly went over to me and began to comfort me; trying to keep me calm. "Taylor..? Are you okay?" Sora asked me in a worried tone. I lifted my head up and looked at the group; seeing the worried looks on their faces. "...Yeah. I'm okay." I replied. "You sure? You look like you're scared and upset." Celina replied. "Scared..? Yeah... I am scared." I replied. "Scared of what? Team Rocket..? Or your powers?" she replied. "...Both." I replied. "Huh?" she replied.
"When I was kidnapped... they experimented on me; forcing me to use my powers inside a Lab against machines they made and Pokémon they have caught. They put me in some kind of armor and used it to control me for the entire day. Once the stuff wore off, I saw the Leader of Team Rocket, Giovanni, for the first time. He asked me with an evil grin on his face to use my powers to find his missing Pokémon. According to him, this Pokémon was very "Special" to him. I had no choice but do what he wanted. If I tried to escape or anything... I was going to be in for a rude awakening. When I was trying to find this Pokémon, I sensed the Aura's of all the Pokémon that his team had stolen. They were all scared... sick... and some were too injured to the point where they couldn't stand up. I could hear all their cries for help; wanting to return to where they came from. After hearing those cries... I... I lost it. I completely snapped... and went berserk. I was so fueled with rage that I broke myself free from the machine and destroyed the Lab. I chased after Giovanni and attacked him. Once I got him cornered... his Grunts appeared and distracted me; making him escape. After he escaped, I met a powerful Pokémon that no one had ever seen before. It saved me and brought me back home with the Legendary Birds." I replied.
The group looked at me in shock; now knowing what truly happened to me. "A powerful Pokémon that no one had ever seen before? What did it look like?" Sora asked me. "It looked... alien." Pat replied. "Huh? You saw it too?" Sora replied. Pat nodded his head yes to the question. "Me, Zach, Yuya, Yugo, Yuri, and Yuto saw it. When we saw Taylor in it's arms all injured... it got us angry and upset. We kept asking so many questions on how and why this happened... but one thing we knew was that we had to stay by Taylor's side; hoping to help her feel better and get back to her normal self." he replied. "Physically... yes. But mentally... no." I replied. "Huh?" he replied curiously. "Ever since that day... I've been having traumatic nightmares about it. They are bad to the point where I try not to sleep at night; just to make them go away. It made my family worried for a while, so they brought me to a doctor to talk about it. She then told us that I was experiencing symptoms of PTSD." I replied. "PTSD?" Sora replied curiously. "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder." Celina replied. "Oh..." Sora replied. "So if someone did something or makes a sound that's similar to things you had heard that day... can it make you snap or something?" Pat asked me. "Mhm. All that and my nightmares too." I replied. "Whoa... so that's why everytime our group was over at your house we had to not make much noise. Your Mom and brother wanted to make sure that you don't snap and go berserk on us." he replied. I nodded my head yes to his response.
The group looked at me with sad and worried looks in their eyes; now knowing the truth about my powers and what happened five years ago. "Tay?" said Celina. "Hm?" I replied curiously. "After that battle with Fearow... why did you pass out? Were your powers too much for you?" she replied. "No... they weren't too much for me. They were... holding me back." I replied. "Why?" she replied. "Because they were repressing my mind from the trauma. That only happens when I battle someone or if I or people I know are in extreme danger. But if I use them to help out people and environments... they only get me exhausted." I replied. "I see... that's why you passed out after you used them to protect Zuzu. You saw the danger she was in, and you had no choice but to use them in order to save her." she replied. I nodded my head yes to her response. "But... if you want to control them 100% without passing out... you gotta fight the trauma. It's up too you if you want to do that." said Pat. "Yeah... and we'll be there to help you out with them. We'll help you become stronger and not let them take over you." Zach replied. Celina, Zuzu, and Sora nodded their heads in agreement to their responses.
"Everyone... I... what if I get you all in danger..?" I replied. "We'll find a way to bring you back to your senses. We know you, Tay. We know that you really don't want to hurt anybody. But if someone does push you over the edge and makes you snap... then we will find a way to calm you down and bring you back to normal." Celina replied. "Yeah... and if there are any members of Team Rocket still out there looking for you... we'll protect you. We'll never let them take you away from us again." Zach replied. "Yeah." Pat, Zuzu, and Sora replied. I was speechless and amazed by their words. To be honest, I thought that they would call me a monster after what I had done at Team Rocket's Lab and force me to go back home until I control my powers. But after hearing what they had said, it made my heart warm up and a little emotional. I lightly smiled and shed a couple tears. I wiped them away and looked at the group. "Everyone... thank you." I said. They smiled warmly at me; knowing how much I appreciate their words to comfort me. After that, we put out the campfire and prepared to go to bed in our tents.
Midnight
I sat up on a big branch on a tree near the tents and looked up at the starry sky silently. Everyone had fallen asleep a couple hours ago, but I decided to stay up for a bit longer; wanting some peace and quiet for myself. To be honest, I tried to get some sleep... but my anxiety had woke me up a couple times. When it does this to me back home, I go outside and look up at the stars and slowly try going back to sleep. As I stared at the sky, my Mark began to glow. I looked down at my hand, seeing the Mark glow, stood up on the branch, and began looking around where I stood; wondering if someone was approaching nearby. I blinked my eyes twice, and then looked straight ahead towards a pond; seeing a pair of glowing golden yellow eyes shine. I blinked my eyes again and they began to glow green. I stared at the golden yellow light silently, and then saw it disappear. "Huh? Where did it go?" I said quietly to myself as my eyes and Mark stopped glowing. I stared at the area silently for a moment, and then slowly climbed down the branch; gently landing on the ground.
I looked at the tents silently and began walking over to me, Zuzu, and Celina's tent. As I was about to open it, I heard an echo of a attack nearby. I quickly stood up and looked straight ahead; seeing smoke and embers rising quickly to the sky. My eyes widened in shock to see that it was in the area where the girl and Bulbasaur were. I knew that if I stood here any longer... the whole Forest will be set ablaze. I turned to my left and saw all my Pokémon sleeping together. I walked over to them and woke them up. "Hey. Guys. Time to wake up." I said to them. They woke up their eyes, and looked at me; seeing a worried look in my eyes. They shook off their sleepyheads and began to huddle around me; wondering if I am okay. "We need to go to that cabin. I think a "certain someone" came back to capture Bulbasaur, and set the area on fire." I said to them. They were shocked to my words, and then nodded their heads to me with determined eyes. After that, we booked it to the cabin; hoping the girl and Bulbasaur are safe and sound somewhere. As we ran, we heard some voices in the distance and saw the flames being put out. "People are noticing the flames... that's good. But no time to haste... we gotta save them!" I said.
Cabin
"Pin-sir!" said Pinsir. "Hehehe! Excellent work, Pinsir. That Hyper Beam should do the trick." said Weevil. "Weevil! Stop it!" said the girl. "Stop what? You have something I want... now give it to me. Give me that Bulbasaur!" he replied in a sinister tone. My team and I ran over to the bushes and heard the whole thing. "I'll never give him to you." she told him as she held Bulbasaur in her arms. He was very angered and agitated by her response. "Very well... you leave me no choice. Pinsir... Guillotine." he replied. Pinsir walked over and began its attack. My eyes widened in shock and anger to his response. I clutched my hands into fists, and then me and my team ran in and stopped them. "What the!?" said Weevil surprised. "Taylor!" the girl replied. Aurasoul and Dragonfire held Pinsir's pincers back, while the rest of us shielded the girl and Bulbasaur from more harm. "You again!? Get out of my way! You're disrupting my capture!" Weevil told me. "You're not capturing Bulbasaur, Weevil. He doesn't want to be with a Trainer like you. You don't have the heart and compassion of a Trainer. I feel sorry for your Pinsir and any other Pokémon you have with you that have to obey a cruel, empty-hearted person like you. The world would be a lot more better if you weren't a Trainer... just like Bulbasaur's former Trainer." I replied.
He was angered by response. The girl and Bulbasaur looked at me surprised from my words. I stared down my foes and was ready to fight; making Weevil and Pinsir furious at me. "Pinsir! Attack them!" Weevil commanded. "Sir! Pin-sir!" Pinsir replied as it used its strength on Dragonfire and Aurasoul. They let go and kicked Pinsir away from us; knocking it into Weevil and making them fall. "Good job, you two." I said. They turned their heads to me, nodded in thanks, and then we all looked at the two foes standing back up. I turned to the girl and saw the scared look in her eyes. "Aurasoul. You, Tetrax, and the rest of the team lead her and Bulbasaur to safety. Dragonfire and I will handle him." I said. Aurasoul made a sound in understanding, watched Tetrax jump onto his shoulder, and then began leading the group away from the cabin. "No! Pinsir! Get them!" Weevil yelled. "Sir!" Pinsir replied. It began running after them a few seconds later. "Stop it with Dragon Claw!" I replied. Dragonfire roared loudly, quickly flew over to Pinsir with his hands glowing in a light green claw shaped energy, and slashed it in its face. "Pin!" Pinsir cried.
The small group stopped, turned around, and saw Dragonfire standing in front of them; guarding them. Pinsir stood back up and then began to attack Dragonfire, but he grabbed it and threw it back to Weevil. When they watched that, Bulbasaur then began to remember what I had said to him before me and my group went back to our campsite. He jumped out of the girl's arms and watched Dragonfire fly up in the air; dodging Pinsir's attack. "Jump up and use Seismic Toss!" said Weevil. Pinsir jumped up in the air, grabbed Dragonfire's tail, and then threw him down to the ground. "Dragonfire!" I said worriedly. "Now use Outrage!" Weevil replied. Pinsir's eyes turned red and it began relentlessly attacking him. A few seconds later, it let out one punch to his gut and he was pushed back and went down on his knee. "Dragonfire! Hang on, buddy. I gotcha." I said to him as I ran over to him. "Stop her, Pinsir! Attack her!" Weevil replied. "Pin-sir!" Pinsir replied as it dashed over to me and attacked me; shocking the girl, Bulbasaur, and all my team.
When the last hit got me and knocked me down, Bulbasaur got mad at Pinsir and then ran over to us. "Bulbasaur! Come back here! You're going to get yourself hurt again!" the girl yelled. "Bul-ba!" Bulbasaur replied as he ran. I slowly stood back up and looked at Pinsir; seeing a dazed look in its eyes. "Don't just stand there! Finish them off with Hyper Beam!" Weevil commanded. Dragonfire helped me stand up and we watched Pinsir form a orange ball of energy in front of its mouth; aiming at us. Bulbasaur then ran faster to us and began charging energy from the bulb on his back. "Bul-ba!" Bulbasaur cried. We turned around and saw Bulbasaur run upto us and stood in front of us. "Bulbasaur!?" I said worriedly. "Hehe... this is interesting. Protecting them, are you? Well then... you'll just perish along with them. Pinsir, now! Full power!" Weevil replied. "Pin-sir!" Pinsir replied as it fired the ball as a energy beam. "Bul-ba-saur!" Bulbasaur replied as it fired a light yellow beam from the bulb on its back; colliding it with the Hyper Beam. They both struggled at first to see whose attack was stronger, but then Bulbasaur's attack broke through and destroyed the Hyper Beam. "Bulba-saur! Bul-ba!" said Bulbasaur as he made the attack stronger and hit Pinsir. "What!? No! Pinsir!" Weevil replied.
The smoke disappeared and revealed that Pinsir had fainted. Bulbasaur breathed heavily after the attack; proudly looking at his foes. "Bulbasaur... you saved us..." I said to him as Dragonfire and I walked over to him. Bulbasaur turned to us and smiled proudly. "Bulbasaur." he replied as he nodded his head. We smiled warmly at him and then heard Weevil scream at us. We turned to him and saw him charged at us. Bulbasaur glared at Weevil and then knocked him away with a Vine Whip. "Why you..." he replied angrily as he stood up. Bulbasaur stood tall, leapt up in the air with his vines, and then used Sleep Powder on him; knocking him out cold. Weevil fell asleep a few seconds later; dropping Pinsir's PokéBall from his hand. Bulbasaur landed gently back on the ground and ran back to us. "Bul-ba?" he said. "Yeah... we're okay. Right, buddy?" I replied as I turned to Dragonfire. He nodded his head yes to my response. Bulbasaur smiled happily and then extended one of his vines to me. I was surprised for a moment, and then I crouched down and gently held the vine in my hand. We shook "hands" happily and smiled at each other.
"Taylor! Are you and Dragonfire okay?" said the girl as she and my team ran over to us. "Yeah... we're okay." I replied as I put my hand on Dragonfire's shoulder; using my powers to heal our wounds. They saw the light green aura surround us and heal our wounds for a few seconds before it disappeared. I took my hand off his shoulder and then looked at the girl; seeing her looking at us in awe. "By the way... I never got to know your name?" I said. "Oh! My name... it's Melanie." she replied. "Well... nice to officially meet you, Melanie." I replied. We smiled at each other happily and then looked at my team interacting with Bulbasaur; seeing them now friendly to each other. As they interacted, we turned around and saw Pinsir stand back up. Melanie looked at it nervously and hid behind me. I stared at it silently for a moment and then walked over to it. Pinsir stared at me intensely as I got close. "Pin-" said Pinsir. I stood a few feet in front of its face and stared into its eyes. I closed my eyes, sighed, opened my eyes, and made them glow green. Pinsir stared into my eyes and then its eyes began to glow green as well.
I used my powers to look through Pinsir's memories; seeing how Weevil caught it and treated it. After about a minute, I stopped using my powers and our eyes went back to normal. "You... you had a family, didn't you?" I asked it. "Pin!? Pinsir." it replied in shock. "And he took you away from them... because of how he watched you defeat your rival back on your turf?" I replied. "...Sir." it replied in a sad tone. Once I heard that tone, I knew that it really missed its family. It never wanted to be captured. It wanted to spend the rest of its life with its family. I looked at it sadly and then saw its PokéBall right next to my left foot. I looked back up at Pinsir; seeing it still watching me. "Pinsir..? Do you want to be free? Do you want to be with your family again?" I asked it. Its eyes widened in shock to my question. "I know that your "Trainer" is supposed to give you that choice... but from what I saw in his heart... he would never give you that choice. He was only going to use you as a fighting machine. He only cares if things go his way. Pokémon like you don't deserve to be with Trainers like him. They deserve to be at peace in the wild, or with Trainers with pure hearts that would want to take care of them and love them for who they are; flaws and all." I replied.
"She's right. You deserve to be free. If you stay with him... you will feel miserable about yourself, and let your anger take over you. Just like a certain Pokémon I know." said Melanie as we turned to Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur walked over to us and watched Pinsir walked upto him. They stared at each other silently as we watched. "Bulbasaur. Bul-ba. Bul-ba-saur. Bul-ba. Bulbasaur." said Bulbasaur. "Pin-sir. Pin-Pin-sir." Pinsir replied. "What are they saying?" Melanie asked me. "Bulbasaur said: Don't be like me. I don't want you to go through the same pain I went through. Go... be free. Pinsir said: You're right. I deserve to be free. But how?" I replied. We then looked down at its PokéBall again and looked back up at Pinsir. I looked down to my left and crushed Pinsir's PokéBall without hesitation; shocking everyone. I looked up at Pinsir and saw it stare at me in shock and confusion. "There. Now you're free. He can't control you anymore." I said. "Pin-sir?" it replied. I nodded my head yes to it. "Yeah... you're really free." I replied. It smiled happily and its eyes swelled up in tears; crying in joy. It then hugged us happily for a moment, thanking me, and then left the area; beginning its journey back home. We all waved goodbye to it and then heard the sound of barks come around.
We all hid in the cabin and saw a couple officers and Growlithe's look at the sleeping Weevil and take him away. We watched them leave and smiled happily. "They know of him, huh?" I asked her. "Mhm. They've known about him for weeks." she replied. "Well... at least he won't come back here for a long time. You and Bulbasaur are safe now." I replied. "Yeah. And its all thanks to you and your Pokémon, Taylor. If it weren't for you all here... Bulbasaur would've been angered and miserable under Weevil's control." she replied. I nodded my head in agreement and smiled warmly at her; making her do the same. After that, my team and I said our goodbyes to her and Bulbasaur, and went back to the campsite. We sat down by the tree for a while, made a bed of leaves, and then fell asleep for the night. For the first time in a while, I got to have a peaceful sleep. With my friends and my team by my side, I can tell now that things are going to be okay.
The Next Morning
"...Tay? Tay? Time to wake up." said a voice. I opened my eyes slowly, saw a blanket on me, looked up, and saw Zach looking down at me. "Good morning, sunshine." he said with a warm smile. "...Morning." I replied tiredly. "Come on. Breakfast is ready. We've all been waiting for you." he replied. "Okay." I replied. I slowly stood up and walked over to the table, and began to eat breakfast with the group and all our Pokémon. As we ate, I kept the blanket wrapped around me to keep me warm for now. "Did you have a good sleep, Tay?" Pat asked me. I rubbed my eyes and nodded my head yes to him. "Yeah. I did." I replied. "Was that bed of leaves you made comfortable?" he replied. "Mhm." I replied. "Man... you really don't like to talk when you wake up, do you?" he replied. "Yep." I replied with a yawn. "Hehe... looks like Taylor's not a morning person." said Sora. I lightly smiled at his response and nodded my head yes to him; making him happy.
After breakfast was done, we cleaned and packed everything up. Once we got our Bags, we were all ready to go. Before we left, we made sure to grab the last of the Berries grown on the trees. "Vul!" said Zuzu's Vulpix happily; making her Trainer smile. "Well, Viridian Forest... it's been nice knowing you. Now it's time that we get to Pewter City." said Celina. "And to see Taylor get her first Gym Badge!" Sora replied. "Yeah!" Pat replied happily. I smiled at their words, and we began to leave. "Taylor!" said a voice. We turned around a second later; wondering who called out my name. "Who said your name, Tay?" Zach asked me. As I looked out, I saw Melanie and Bulbasaur walk onto our campsite. "Melanie." I said as I walked over to her. When I took one step closer, Bulbasaur happily jumped out her arms and landed on me; making me fall. "Taylor!" said my group surprised. They ran over to me and saw Bulbasaur and I laughing happily together.
I sat up and Bulbasaur and I looked at each other with a smile for a couple seconds, and then looked up at Melanie. "I guess that you wanted to come say goodbye before we leave?" I asked her. "Yeah. I want to thank you again for stopping Weevil last night and saving me and Bulbasaur from harm. Ever since you left, all Bulbasaur kept thinking about was you and how you saved his life. You made him see that there are people that care for Pokémon like him. You're his hero." she replied. "No problem. I knew that I had to do something before you got hurt. I had to show him that even though his views on people are different compared to ours, we all can grow and bond with each other. But if I showed him that there are people that truly care about Pokémon like him in his situation... then maybe one day he would open his heart up to them and would want to be with them." I replied as I stood back up. "What!?" my group replied in shock. I turned to them sheepishly and saw the looks in their eyes. "That's something I will tell you guys when we get to the City, okay?" I said to them. "And, Taylor?" Melanie replied. "Hm?" I replied curiously as I turned back to her. "There's something that Bulbasaur wants to ask you." she replied.
I looked at Bulbasaur in my arms, gently put him back down on the ground, and crouched down to his level; looking at him. "What's up, Bulbasaur?" I asked him. "Bul-ba! Bul-ba-saur. Bul-ba Bul-ba. Bul-ba-saur?" he replied. My eyes widened in surprise to his question for a moment, and then I calmed down and smiled at him. "You... you really want to come with me?" I asked him. "Bul-ba!" he replied happily. I smiled happily to his response, took out a PokéBall from my Bag, pressed the button on it to make it grow, and watched Bulbasaur stare at it. "You ready?" I asked him. "Bulba-saur!" he replied happily. He pushed the button with one of his vines, and the Ball began the capture process. The Ball shook once and then made a dinging sound; confirming the capture. "Alright! I caught a Bulbasaur!" I said happily. My team celebrated happily to the capture; making everyone smile and laugh happily. "Congrats, Taylor." said Sora. "Thanks, Sora." I replied. After that, I lightly threw Bulbasaur's Ball in the air, watched it open, and saw Bulbasaur appear. "Bulbasaur." he said happily.
Our teams then went over to him and greeted the newest member to the party. We watched them interact and smiled happily at it. "Taylor? I know that you will take very good care of Bulbasaur. I hope that he becomes a lot more stronger with your love and compassion as a Trainer." said Melanie. "Thank you, Melanie. I promise you that Bulbasaur and I will grow strong together. One day... he will become a very strong Pokémon... and he will make everyone in this Forest proud." I replied. She smiled happily to my response and then looked at Bulbasaur as he stood by my side. "Bulbasaur? I hope that you become a healthy and strong Pokémon. With Taylor by your side, I know that she will take very good care of you." she said. "Bul-ba." he replied. After that, we said our goodbyes to her and then began to leave the Forest. "Hey Taylor? Do you want to give your Bulbasaur a nickname?" Zuzu asked me. "Oh yeah!" I replied. I looked down at my Bulbasaur walking alongside Pat's Bulbasaur; seeing them interacting with each other. As I thought of a name, my Bulbasaur turned his head and looked up at me; seeing me looking at him. "Bulbasaur?" he said curiously. "Hey... do you mind... if I gave you a nickname?" I replied.
He thought about it for a few seconds, and then nodded his head yes to my question. "Great. Now... let's see... Hm... What if I call you... Solar?" I said. He thought about the name for a moment, smiled, and then nodded his head yes to the name. "Bulbasaur." he replied happily. I smiled happily at him, crouched down, and gently patted his head. "Awesome. From now on... your name is Solar." I said. "Bul-ba-saur!" he replied happily. After that, we continued our walk through the Forest; making our way to Pewter City.
Thank you so much for reading Chapter 3 of the story! Holy Arceus, this one took a while to write and plan out. The planning for Taylor to catch Bulbasaur really took a while to think of, but once I looked at Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee for what to catch... I knew that this was the perfect spot to catch him. And for her to finally tell the group about her powers and her capture from Team Rocket during the Prologue, I wanted her to finally feel comfortable with them to talk about her PTSD and her struggles before the journey had started. If she had kept these feelings bottled up a lot more longer... it's going to make her snap and fall apart. She's already held onto this pain for quite sometime now, so to me... this is a good start for her to tell her side of the kidnap story and her struggles to control her powers. One day, she will learn to fully control them and master them.
Oh! I almost forgot! Our Legacy Character of the Chapter is Weevil Underwood from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters series! When it came to this area, I had to put Weevil in for his plot to try and capture Bulbasaur. At first, I was going to give him Ariados to represent Insect Queen... but I decided to go with Pinsir to make him look menacing. I left his reason to catch Bulbasaur ambiguous, but if he had a reason to catch it... it would be just to use Sleep Powder on powerful Bug-type Pokémon that he would want to catch. Who knows? Maybe he will show up again in a future Chapter with a good "friend" of his and see how strong Solar will become. Anyways, thank you so much for reading Chapter 3 and have yourself an awesome day!
Next time, Chapter 4: Fossil Extravaganza! The group arrives at Pewter City and meet Brock for the first time at the Pewter City Museum and go to the famous Fossil Digging Site. As they look around the Museum, Taylor finds the new piece of the Space exhibit the locals were talking about and it suddenly calls out to her. What could this new thing be? Could it be a Pokémon? Find out in Chapter 4!
