Chapter 4: Fossil Extravaganza

Pewter City

The sun shined bright in the sky with little clouds passing by. Flocks of Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot had flown gracefully in the sky; passing by a few Butterfree along the way. Residents of the city and traveling Trainers were walking on the city blocks; exploring what the city has in store for today. As they walked, me and my group entered the city and looked at the sights around us. "Whoa... so this is Pewter City..." said Pat. "Yep. You've never been here before?" Sora asked him. He nodded his head yes to his response. "This is my first time here." he replied. "Well... technically you were supposed to come here with us on a field trip last year." Zach replied to him. "I was..? Oh yeah! It was that field trip to the Museum right?" Pat replied. "Yep. It was for history class about Fossils." Zach replied. "Right... that trip... I had a bad cold that day." Pat replied as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Yeah... don't worry though. It was a boring field trip anyway, right Tay?" Zach replied as he turned to me. "Yeah." I replied as I was looking around. Zuzu and Celina lightly laughed happily to my response. "Looks like someone's focused on something." said Zuzu. I turned to her with a warm smile and nodded my head yes to her. "Trying to find the Gym?" she asked me.

"Yeah. But I'm also trying to find the Gym Leader." I replied. "The Gym Leader?" Sora replied curiously. "Mhm. A Gym Leader is the highest-ranking member of a Pokémon Gym. The main job of a Gym Leader is to test Trainers and their Pokémon so that they are strong and resourceful enough to take the Pokémon League challenge. If a Trainer defeats a Gym Leader in battle, then the Trainer earns that Gym's Badge. Gym Leaders are also responsible for overseeing how their respective Gym is run and maintain it. Great care must be taken to make sure that their Gym reflects the best environment for the Type they specialize in, such as swimming pools in a Water-type Gym or trees and flowering plants in a Grass-type Gym. According to some people, teaching young people how to battle with Pokémon can also be the job of a Gym Leader. Unlike regular Pokémon Trainers, a Gym Leader has the right to directly challenge the Pokémon League Champion. It has not exactly been made clear how Gym Leaders attain their position, but it appears that it varies for each Gym. Some of them founded their Gym and are self-appointed; others, are chosen by the other members of the region's Pokémon League... including from close family members. However, Gyms do not necessarily belong to a particular family. Leaders can also choose to vacate their position." Celina replied.

"Whoa... that's so cool!" Sora replied in awe. "Yeah. But wait... who's the Gym Leader for Pewter City?" Pat replied. "That's easy. It's Brock. He specializes with Rock-type Pokémon." Celina replied. "Rock-type Pokémon?" Zuzu replied. Celina nodded her head yes to her response. "So if Taylor's going to challenge him... she's going to need a Grass-type and Fighting-type Pokémon in order to win." Sora replied. "Yep. Those are the two Types that she needs to use if she wants to win... but if she wants to be risky... she can use a Electric-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, or Poison-type Pokémon if she wants too." Celina replied. "Well... I don't think she would want to use Tetrax. Electric-type moves don't do that much damage on Rock-types. We don't know if he has any Fighting-type moves." Pat replied. Tetrax was baffled by their words and turned away from them; making me and my team look at him curiously. Aurasoul gave him some comfort pats on his back and made some sounds to boost his confidence. Tetrax looked at his eyes for a moment, smiled at him, and nodded his head in thanks with a smirk. Aurasoul smirked back and they did a fist bump; making each other happy.

"Well, what about Dragonfire? He looks super strong. His wings could probably push some rocks away?" said Sora. "Nah... Pokémon that are both Fire and Flying-type are very weak to Rock-types. Besides, Brock could have a giant Rock-type Pokémon that could easily crush him with its weight." Zach replied. Dragonfire's eyes widened in shock to Zach's response and clutched his right paw angrily. Solar, Tetrax, Hurricane, and Aurasoul calmed and comforted him instantly; returning him to his senses. "So that just leaves out her Nidoran." said Celina. "Her Nidoran... wait! That could actually work!" Zach replied. "Huh? What are you talking about, Zach?" Zuzu replied curiously. "Her Nidoran knows Double Kick and Water Pulse. I saw him using them when Tay and I trained together in Viridian Forest yesterday. He could be her secret Pokémon to use in the battle." Zach replied. "Really?" Zuzu replied. Zach nodded his head yes to her response. My Nidoran smiled confidently at the responses about him and winked his eye; taking in the praise with stride. "Hey. Don't get cocky." I said to him. "Nido!? Ni-do-ran..." he replied as he looked up at me. "Never underestimate your opponent in battle. They will give it their all in battle... just like you. If you let arrogance take over your mind, your opponents will figure out your strategy easily and defeat you quicker than you expect." I replied. Nidoran blinked his eyes, looked at Tetrax, Aurasoul, and Dragonfire, and watched them nod their heads in agreement to my response.

"Nido. Nidoran." said Nidoran as he looked back up at me in understanding. I smiled warmly at him and then looked up; seeing people in a line for something. "Huh? Hey, guys? What's with the line over there?" I said curiously. The group stopped in their tracks, looked to where I was looking, and saw the line for the first time. "O...kay? What's with the line at the Museum?" Pat asked. "I don't know..? Let's go find out." Zach replied. We nodded our heads in agreement and went to the back of the line. Before we moved, I returned Dragonfire, Hurricane, Nidoran, and Solar to their PokéBalls; letting Aurasoul and Tetrax come to the Museum with me. As we got closer to the entrance, I heard a couple people talk about something in front of me. "No way! Is it true?" said one person. "Is what true?" the other person replied. "That Brock and his team found an ancient item from the past in the Fossil area?" the first person replied. "Oh! That thing? Yeah. It's true. People have been raving about that thing for a week ever since Brock was mentioned in the news when he discovered it. They're even saying that this thing might've came from outer space." the other person replied. "Whoa... I can't wait to see what it looks like up close!" the first person replied. "Yeah! Me too!" the other person replied. I stayed silent as I heard the conversation, and began to wonder what this ancient item is all about. Maybe it's history might be connected to the Mark on my hand. As I thought about it more, I knew that I had to see it for myself to see if it's true.

After hearing their conversation, me and the group finally made it to the reception desk. The lady running the desk looked at us as we walked up and looked at her. "Hello. We would like to buy six Museum entrance passes, please." I asked politely. "Certainly. Six entrance passes coming right up." she replied. As she got the passes, she saw the Pokémon with us for the first time. "Oh. I see that you all are Trainers, aren't you?" she asked me. "Yes, ma'am. We are." I replied. "Well you might be in luck. Our beloved Gym Leader, Brock, is in the Museum right now as we speak." she replied. "He is?" I replied curiously. "Yep. He's showing the newest exhibit to reporters right now, and about to head out to the Fossil Digging Extravaganza at the mountains behind the City in a hour. If you catch him in time and he sees your Pokémon... he might ask you if you want to challenge him." she replied. "That's great. Thank you very much." I replied. "You're very welcome. Now all of you and your Pokémon have a good day." she replied. "You too." we replied with a smile. After that, I gave the group their passes and we went inside.

Pewter Museum of Science

We stepped inside and looked at how many people were inside. "Whoa..." we said in unison. "The place must be really excited about that discovery..." said Sora. "Or maybe they're more excited that Brock is here?" Pat replied. "Maybe? But what if he's swarmed by reporter's right now at the new exhibit?" Celina replied. "Yeah. We might as well wait for the crowd to die down a bit before we find him." Zach replied. "Yeah. That's a good idea." Zuzu replied. As we looked around, Sora and Munchlax saw a small line for a stand that was selling rock themed candy. Their eyes stared at it in awe as they saw colored rock candy in buckets and on sticks, chocolate covered rock candy, pop rocks, and candy pebbles. "You hungry, Sora?" said a voice. He turned around and saw me looking at him. "Yeah... a little bit. Once I saw that stand over there, I felt my stomach rumble a bit." he replied as we looked at the stand. "Munch-lax." Munchlax replied. After hearing what he had said; I looked around and saw the group begin looking around the Museum in peace, turned back to him, and lightly smiled at him. "Okay. You and Munchlax can go buy some candy." I said. "Huh? Really!?" he replied excitedly. "Mhm. Just make sure not to spend too much on it, okay? We gotta make sure that we get the food we need for Munchlax before dinner." I replied. "Got it. Thank you, Taylor!" he replied. "Munch!" Munchlax replied happily. "No problem, guys." I replied. They smiled happily at us and then ran over to the candy stand.

I smiled warmly as they went there and then looked at Tetrax and Aurasoul. "Okay. Now let's go find Brock." I said to them. "Pika-chu." Tetrax replied. Aurasoul made a sound and nodded his head to me. After that, we began searching the Museum for Brock. We walked upstairs and saw a big group of reporters and people pass by us and begin to walk downstairs. "Huh? I guess that they got the info that they needed?" I said. "Pika-pi." Tetrax replied. We walked over the the room that they came out from and saw no one in sight. We looked around for any guards for a moment and then quietly walked into the room. As we walked, Aurasoul wrapped his arm around mine to keep me safe; making sure no one sneaks up behind or around us. We walked to the end of the room and saw the newest thing in the Museum for the first time. "So..? This is the thing they were all talking about?" I said as I looked at it. The item looked vaguely humanoid whose body appears to be constructed out of a black crystalline material. The large protrusion attached to its head which had a row of three large spikes along the top and is white in the back with a dark gray symbol resembling a star in the center. It had a prism-like object for a face that possessed a collection of multicolored shapes that resemble eyes. Its thin arms have disproportionately large hands with three claws. Jutting out of the back of each hand is a whitish crystal that darkens toward the tip, and each elbow has a hook-like spike. Two large spikes jut from each shoulder and there is a row of smaller spikes along each side of its body. Its feet have three hook-like toes each.

We stared at it curiously for a moment as we looked around it; trying to wonder exactly what this thing is. We got back to the front of it and stared at its face. "What is this thing? Could it be... a Pokémon..?" I said. I blinked my eyes and then all of a sudden, I began to sense an incredible power! My eyes widened in shock to this; making my Pokémon very concerned. I put my hands to my head as this newfound power was hurting me. As I did that, my Mark began to glow inside my glove. "Pi-ka!" said Tetrax in shock. I groaned at the pain and then looked up at the "Discovery" again. As I looked at it, its chest showed a glowing symbol on it that had the same Mark as mine! "Wh-what!?" I said surprised. I took my hands off my head, took off my glove, and saw my Mark glow. I turned back to the Mark on the Pokémon's chest; seeing the same shape and color it had just like mine. "No way... that Mark glowing on its chest... it's just like mine..." I said in a shocked, silent tone. I stared at it more and then a sudden burst of energy came into my mind. "...You... I finally found you..." said a voice in my thoughts. "Huh!? Who are you? What's going on? What do you mean that you found me?" I replied in my thoughts. "After centuries of sleeping under the rocks of this planet... your soul has returned to this world... just like what he said. Eve... my old friend... I finally found you..." the voice replied in my thoughts. After that, the voice faded away and our powers stopped connecting.

I shook my head for a second, wiped off some sweat, and put my glove back on. Aurasoul made a sound and took out a water bottle from my Bag; wanting to make sure that I was okay. I turned to him and saw the worried looks on his and Tetrax's faces. "It's okay, guys. I'm all good. I'm just as confused of what happened like you two are right now." I said in a calm, tired tone. I gently took the water bottle from Aurasoul's paw, took a sip from it, closed it, and gave it back to him. He gave me a gentle pat on my shoulder and then we looked up at the Pokémon again; staring at it cautiously. "Eve..? Who is Eve? Was it... a person that it knew..? And it has been searching for her for centuries? And that voice... why do I feel like that I have heard it before..? Well... whatever it was... I hope that it doesn't happen again..." I said in my thoughts. "Taylor!" said a voice. We turned around and saw Zach walk into the room. "Hey, Zach." I replied. He smiled warmly and then looked at what we've been looking at for the first time. "Whoa... so this the thing everyone has been talking about?" he said as I looked at it with him. "Yeah... this is it." I replied. "It looks like it came from outer space. Huh, now that I think about it... if it did come from space... I wonder if there are Pokémon that come from space too?" he replied. "Maybe... but who knows? We'll find out when we see them?" I replied. "Yeah." he replied. We stared at it silently and then Zach took some pictures of it on his phone. After that, we left the room and reunited with the group as they walked upstairs. We talked for a minute and then went back downstairs to the Fossil floor.

Zach showed them the pictures for the first time as we sat down in a peaceful area. "Whoa..." said Pat and Sora in awe. "I gotta say, Zach... it looks like nothing that is on this planet? I've never seen anything like that before in my life." Celina replied. "She's right. It looks like it came from a different planet and crashed down onto Earth. But... do they know if it's alien or not?" Zuzu replied. "I don't know? I think they're waiting for a Scientist to confirm it just to make sure." Pat replied. The group nodded their heads in agreement to his response and then turned over to me; seeing me, Tetrax, and Aurasoul look at the entrance to upstairs silently. "Is she okay? She's been silent since you two walked out of that room." said Zuzu in a worried tone. "I think so? Though I have to admit... I did see a concerned look on her face when we were staring at that thing." Zach replied. "Maybe she saw something on the thing that scared her..?" Zuzu replied. "Maybe..?" Zach replied. I blinked my eyes and began to remember that surge of power and that voice that talked to me in my thoughts; wondering why it called out to me. After thinking about, I stood up and walked over to an exhibit of two skeletons of Fossil Pokémon. "Pi-ka..." said Tetrax in awe of them. Aurasoul stared at them in awe too; wondering what these two Pokémon are and what they did in the ancient past.

As we looked at them, someone walked by and noticed my Pokémon with me. He stared at me curiously with a Scientist and Museum worker, and lightly smiled. "Hm? Is something wrong, Brock?" said the worker. "No. Nothing's wrong. It's just... I've never seen a Trainer with a Lucario before." Brock replied. "A Lucario? Weren't they first discovered in the Sinnoh region?" the worker replied. "Why yes, they have. They are also in other regions as well; except for Kanto and Hoenn." the Scientist replied. "It sure looks like its Trainer has been keeping it healthy." the worker replied. "Yeah. It looks like it's in perfect fighting shape." Brock replied. The Scientist and worker nodded their heads in agreement to his response. They watched us silently and then Brock started to walk over to me. "Wait, Brock! What are you doing? What about the exhibit upstairs?" said the Scientist. "It'll be fine. Keep your eyes out for anyone who will try to steal until the place closes for the night." Brock replied. "Uh... okay?" the Scientist replied. Brock smiled warmly at the two, and then began walking over to me again. "Excuse me? Is this your first time here at the Museum?" he asked me. I turned to him and saw him for the first time. "Me? Nope. The first time I came here was last year for a field trip from my school." I replied. "A field trip from your school, huh? What school do you go to?" he replied. "Pallet Town Middle School." I replied. "Pallet Town?" he replied. "Yep. That's my hometown. My two Pokémon here come from there too." I replied.

We smiled warmly at each other for a moment and then he began to scratch his head. "My apologies. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader." he said. "And I'm Taylor. And these two are Tetrax and Aurasoul." I replied. "Pika-chu." Tetrax greeted. Aurasoul made a happy sound; greeting him too. "Taylor, huh? That's a pretty suiting name for you." he replied. "Aw, thanks." I replied. "You're welcome. Wait... you said you're from from Pallet Town, right?" he replied. "Yes?" I replied. "That means you must know of the Champion of the region. He hails from Pallet Town as well." he replied. "You mean Red? Yep. I know him. He's my brother." I replied. "He's your brother?" he replied. I nodded my head yes to his response. "Wait a second... now I remember you! You're the one who kept cheering him on in our battles at the Indigo League!" he replied. "Hehe. Yep. That was me." I replied. "And these two Pokémon with you... they have evolved since that last time I saw them." he replied. "Mhm. And you might remember my Charmander too. He's now fully evolved into a Charizard." I replied. "He has? Wow... you really did become a Trainer because of him, huh?" he replied. "Yep. I sure have. And I'm going to battle the League and become the new Champion of Kanto." I replied. "The new Champion? Well... I wish you luck in the challenge. Tell you what. My Gym is open tomorrow. If you want, you can come by and battle me to try and earn your first official League Badge." he replied. "That's great! I'll be there tomorrow. It's a promise." I replied. "Pikachu!" Tetrax replied. Aurasoul made a confident sound with a smirk on his face; accepting the challenge.

After that we shook hands for a moment. We let our hands go and then looked back at the two skeletons. "So, Brock? How long have these been up for display?" I asked him. "Oh, these old things? They've been up for over a very long time. They are the first skeletal displays of Fossil Pokémon ever recorded in the region's history." he replied. "Wow... where did the archeologist's find them?" I replied. "They found them near Mt. Moon. It took them quite a few years to find all the pieces of these guys. But once all the pieces were complete, they were put up for display and became one of the main attractions of the Museum itself before the Space level was built." he replied. "That's amazing. Did it get people inspired to go find Fossils on their own?" I replied. "Sure did. A lot of people, including myself, became obsessed with finding Fossils ever since we first laid eyes on these two displays. It made us want to see what these Pokémon were truly like back in prehistoric times. I remember when I traveled with my family to the big fossil digging site and found my first Fossil, it filled me with so much joy. I showed it to my parents and they told me that it might be a Pokémon that had lived in the ancient past. Years later, after I became Gym Leader... I went to the Lab here and gave the Scientists my Fossil. After hours of patience, they came back to me and revealed my first ever Fossil Pokémon: Omanyte." he replied.

"Omanyte?" I replied curiously. "Yep. Here. I'll show it to you. Come on out, Omanyte." he replied as he took out a PokéBall, lightly threw it in the air, and watched it open. Omanyte appeared on the ground and looked up at me for the first time. "Oma-nyte!" it said happily. "Whoa... so that's what a Omanyte looks like." I replied. I took out my phone, pointed it at Omanyte, and activated my PokéDex. "Omanyte, the Spiral Pokémon. A Rock and Water type. This Pokémon is a member of an ancient, extinct species. Omanyte paddles through water with its 10 tentacles, looking like it's just drifting along." said my PokéDex. "Wow... you're a pretty awesome Pokémon, Omanyte." I said. "Omanyte." it replied happily. Brock picked it up in his arms and saw it looking at Tetrax and Aurasoul. "Oma? Nyte! Oma-nyte." it said to them. "Pika-pi. Pika-chu!" Tetrax replied. Aurasoul made a reassuring sound to it; making it happy and comfortable. "Heh. You like them already, Omanyte?" Brock asked it. "Oma-nyte." it replied happily; making it's Trainer smile. "Tay!" said a voice. I turned around and saw my group walk upto me; wondering what I've been doing. "Hey, guys." I said. "Oh? Are they friends of yours?" Brock asked me. "Yep. Guys, this is Brock. The Pewter City Gym Leader." I replied. "Nice to meet you all." he replied. "Nice to meet you too." Pat replied. "Whoa! Is that a real Omanyte you have, Brock?" said Sora in awe. "Yep. I've had him for almost ten years now." Brock replied. "Ma-nyte." Omanyte replied. "Did you find him the Fossil area?" Sora replied. "Yeah. That's where I found him when he was just a Helix Fossil." Brock replied.

"Helix Fossil?" Zuzu replied curiously. "Yep. That's the Fossil that Omanyte comes from. When you find one at a Fossil digging site, and give it to the Museum Scientists... they can bring Omanyte back to life from the Fossil itself." Brock replied. "Wow... that's amazing!" Pat replied. "Yeah. Who knows how many other kinds of Fossils are out there that have prehistoric Pokémon in them?" Celina replied. "We can find out at the Fossil digging site in the City. What do you say? You all wanna come along and find some Fossils?" Brock replied. "Yeah!" Pat and Sora replied happily. "Sure. That would be great." Zach replied. "That's great. Come on. We better get going before someone finds a super rare Fossil." Brock replied. After that, we all left the Museum and went to the digging site. As we left, a group of people stood by the new exhibit entrance way and smirked at each other. "Alright, guys. When Brock and his team return with any Fossils or rare items to here tonight and leave 'em here... we take 'em for ourselves, give 'em to the Boss, and make a whole load of cash to spend all for ourselves!" said the leader of the group. "Yeah!" the leader's team replied. "Once the guards leave the place... that's where the fun really begins." the leader replied.

Fossil Digging Site

Sounds of pickaxes hitting the ground and rocks had filled the air as many people were all around the site; trying to find Fossils and stones. As they did this, some of Brock's people at the Museum were walking and watching over them; making sure everyone is digging safely. After doing their round-about, they see us walking upto them with Brock. "Ah. There you are, Brock. The digging has just started." said the lead Scientist. "Ah. That's great. I'll get my pick axe and join them." Brock replied. "Wait, Brock? Who are they?" the Scientist replied as he looked at us. "Oh. They are my guests. I invited them so they can find Fossils and learn more of our history with Fossil Pokémon." Brock replied. "Oh? Interesting. Alright. Gentlemen, give these kids a bag and pick axes. And make sure that Brock keeps their eyes on them." the lead Scientist replied. "Yes, sir." his team replied. They gave us mini bags and pick axes. "Be careful with these. They are very dangerous tools." the Scientist told us. "We will." we replied. After that, we followed Brock and began our hunt for Fossils.

We found ourselves a good spot to dig and break some rocks, put our bags down, and began our search. Most of the group had found some kinds of Stones and put them in their bags. Pat dug around for a few minutes and then found something that looked like a Fossil. "Ha! Hey, guys! I found something!" said Pat. He picked up the item and handed it over to the Scientist. We looked up and watched the Scientist study the item gave him. "Hmm..." said the Scientist. "Well? What is it?" Pat asked him. "It's fossilized Pokémon manure." the Scientist replied; making Pat disgusted and upset. "Eww!" said Zuzu and Celina. "That's gross." Sora replied. "Yeah." Pat replied with a sigh. "Hey... don't worry about it. You're probably not the first one to find a Fossil like that." Zach replied. "True. Can't let something like this keep me down." Pat replied. "That's the spirit, buddy!" Zach replied happily. They gave each other a fist bump and went back searching. Brock smiled at the little moment and then looked back at me as Aurasoul and Tetrax picked up two rocks from the ground. He made a sound to me and saw me turn to him. "Huh? What's up?" I asked him. He made another sound and showed me the rocks he and Tetrax were holding. "Pika-pi." said Tetrax as he and Aurasoul handed the rocks to me. "Thank you." I said to them and petted their heads; making them happy. I put the rocks down, picked up my pick axe, and broke the rocks open in half.

"Wow. You broke them without even breaking a sweat. Gotta say, Taylor... I'm impressed." said Brock. I lightly laughed happily and scratched the back of my head. "Thanks, Brock." I said. After that, I knelt down and picked up the two items; staring at them curiously. "Pi-ka?" said Tetrax curiously. Aurasoul knelt down and looked at the items too; wondering what they are as well. "What are these?" I said curiously. "Those are Fossils. The Dome Fossil and Old Amber to be exact." Brock replied. "Wow... I wonder what kinds of Pokémon come from these?" I replied in awe. "From these two? Well, the Dome Fossil contains the DNA of Kabuto. And the Old Amber contains the DNA of Aerodactyl." he replied. "Kabuto? And Aerodactyl?" I replied. "Yep. Have you ever seen one of them when they battled your brother before?" he replied. I shook my head no to his answer. "Huh? I guess a lot of Trainers that have one couldn't beat the Elite 4 for you to see one?" he replied. "Maybe? I know I've heard about them in school before. I just never seen them alive in person." I replied. "Well... maybe we could make it happen. See that line way over there with all those people heading inside the Museum? They are in the process of getting their Fossils revived to get either Omanyte, Kabuto, or Aerodactyl." he replied as we looked out to the line. "Whoa... that's amazing." I replied. He nodded his head in agreement, and then we heard a cheer coming from my group. "Aw yeah! We got some Helix Fossils!" said Pat as he, Celina, and Zach raised them up in the air. "Praise thee, Lord Helix." Sora replied.

We looked at each other a moment later and smiled at each other. "So, Taylor. For our Gym battle tomorrow. I have a couple battles scheduled for the morning. If you and your friends come around to the Gym after lunch, I will cancel my free time for our battle and have our battle." he said. "That's great. After lunch is the best time for me. I can't have my team battle with an empty stomach." I replied. "Alright. It's settled. You and I will have our battle tomorrow. But I have one request." he replied. "Hm?" I replied curiously. "Usually with first time Trainers for their Gym Battles, I only use my Geodude and Onix. During those battles, Omanyte was always on the sidelines; watching every battle for every win and loss. I can tell in his eyes that he wants to battle as well, but I never gave him the chance to do so. When I'm not doing any battles, I always see him train with Geodude and Onix; wanting to be just like them... but I'm afraid that no one will take him seriously." he replied. "Well... maybe it's time for him to try." I replied. "Hm?" he replied. "He's seen every battle from the sideline, right? So he knows every strategy that you do with Geodude and Onix. But if you use him with Water-type attacks and take his defense to an advantage, he might pull something off in battle that you'd never expect." I replied. "Huh... you know what... you're absolutely right. With your advice, me and Omanyte are going to train hard and prepare for you and your team." he replied. I nodded my head in agreement and then we shook hands again. After that, I walked over to my group and saw them put down their pick axes.

"You guys tired?" I asked them as they turned to me. "A little bit. I have a feeling that my muscles will be sore tomorrow morning." Zuzu replied. "Same here." Sora replied. "But you both gotta admit. We found some good stuff from all this. Check it out. Found myself a Helix Fossil, Leaf Stone, and a few Revives." Celina replied. "I found a Helix Fossil too; along with a Thunder Stone." Zach replied. "Same here. I also found a Water Stone." Pat replied. "Sora and I only found some Revives, a Shiny Stone, and a Fire Stone." Zuzu replied. "You found a Fire Stone?" Pat replied. "Mhm." Zuzu replied. "You know you can use that Stone to evolve your Vulpix into Ninetales, right?" Celina replied. "I know. But if I want to evolve her into Ninetales... I want to be sure that she will be okay with it. I don't want to force her to evolve." Zuzu replied. Celina smiled and nodded her head in understanding; making Zuzu smile as well. "Well... that just leaves you, Tay? What did you find while digging around?" said Zach. "Me? Oh... I found these two Fossils while digging with Brock." I replied as I showed them the two Fossils. "Whoa!" said Sora. "Wait, you found two!? Did you find them in one rock or something?" Pat replied. "Nope. Tetrax and Aurasoul found two good sized rocks and handed them over to me. I picked through them with a couple good hits with my pick axe, and they appeared from the rocks." I replied.

"Wow. What kind of Fossils are they?" Sora asked me. "This one in my left hand is the Dome Fossil. It contains the DNA of Kabuto. And the Fossil in my right hand is the Old Amber. It contains the DNA of Aerodactyl." I replied. "Aerodactyl!?" Zach and Celina replied in shock. I nodded my head yes to their response. "You two okay?" Pat asked them. "Yeah. It's just... I've been trying to find an Aerodactyl ever since I battled the one student who had one back at the Academy." Celina replied. "Really?" Zach replied. "Yeah. It was the first time that I ever saw a Fossil Pokémon live in person. It swept my team in battle with ease. Ever since that day, I've wanted to find my own Aerodactyl and battle the Trainer who defeated me with his before." Celina replied. "Wow... that's deep." Zach replied. After hearing her story, Pat picked up his pick axe and went to my digging spot. We followed him curiously; wondering what he is up too. "Dude? What are you doing?" I asked him. "Finding an Old Amber. There's gotta be more than one of those Fossils, right? So. I'm gonna dig here until I find one for Celina." he replied. "What? Pat, no. I appreciate the offer and all, but this Fossil is something I have to find myself." Celina replied.

He took her words to heart and put his pick axe away. I gave him a little shoulder pat to comfort his senses; knowing that he just wanted to help. "You did a good thing, man. Wanting to help her find one Old Amber. That was sweet of you to do." I said to him. "Thanks, Taylor." he replied. I nodded my head to him, and then we all turned around to the long line still going into the Museum. "Aw, man... it's gonna take forever to get our Fossils revived." said Sora. "Yeah. If we get in that line now... we'd be here until nightfall. Unless..." Celina replied as she and the group turned to me. "Huh? Wait... don't tell me..?" I replied. "Please, Taylor! Please!" Sora replied. "Wait, wait, wait, wait. Time out. I don't even know if my powers can revive Fossil Pokémon from their Fossils?" I replied. "I mean... it could work? Think about it. If she did revive them with her powers... she won't pass out. She's not fighting anybody. Maybe she can use her powers to keep them calm as they are revived." Zach replied. "That's true. As long she doesn't use them in front of others, we should be good!" Zuzu replied. "You guys are really going along with this, aren't you?" I replied. "Yep." they replied. I sighed in agony and put my two Fossils in my main Bag for safe-keeping.

"Awesome!" said Sora happily. "Great. Tay? You don't mind if we kindly ask you to do this tomorrow afternoon, right?" Celina replied. "Eh... about that... I actually scheduled my Gym match with Brock tomorrow afternoon." I replied. "You what!?" the group replied. "Oh boy..." I replied. "When did this happen?" Zach replied. "A little while ago?" I replied. They sighed for a moment and then looked back at me. "Okay? But why didn't you tell us sooner?" said Celina. "You guys were celebrating about all the stuff we found here, and I didn't want to ruin the fun by telling you during it." I replied. They blinked their eyes and then looked at each other. "That's true. We were celebrating about all of this." said Pat. "Yeah. And now we just made it more chaotic when adding Tay's power into it." Zach replied. They nodded their heads in agreement, and then turned back to me; seeing a curious look on my face. "Tay? We're sorry." said Zuzu. "Sorry? Sorry for what?" I replied curiously. "We're sorry for wanting you to use your powers without your permission." she replied. "Oh, that? Nah... it's okay. We were all just hyped up in the moment and it got carried away a little bit. Tell you what? Let's keep the Fossils the way they are now, and then maybe sometime in the future... I can find a way to revive them." I replied. "You will!?" Celina and Pat replied. I nodded my head yes to them; making them happy. After that, we left the Digging site with our little treasures, said goodbye to Brock and the Scientists, and went to the Pewter City Hotel.

Pewter City Hotel

"Wow..." we said in awe of our hotel room. We walked inside the room and put down our bags in our bedrooms for the night. "This is great! Who knew that our Student Discount's would get us a room like this, eh Celina?" said Sora as he and Munchlax kicked back on the couch. "Yeah. This is something we could get used too." Celina replied as she leaned back to the wall of the living room as the rest of us were getting settled. I walked into the bedroom that me, Zuzu, and Celina will share for the night, and I saw Tetrax, Vulpix, Solar, my Nidoran, Zach's Squirtle, Pat's Bulbasaur and Rattata, Zuzu's Pikachu, and Celina's Nidoran jumping around on the beds happily with Hurricane, Zach, and Pat's Pidgey's flying over them. I smiled warmly at them playing, and then I saw Aurasoul and Dragonfire watching over them from the patio with Zach's Beedrill and Celina's Fearow. They turned to me and saw me give them a thumbs up for watching over them. They nodded their heads happily to me; knowing now the small Pokémon won't cause trouble. I walked out of the room and went to the kitchen.

"There you are." said Zach as he saw me searching for a snack. I turned to him and smiled warmly at him. "Heard some bouncing around in one of the bedrooms. Is it from the Pokémon?" he asked me. "Yeah. They decided to bounce on the beds and play for a while. I guarantee that they will be sleeping early tonight with all that energy." I replied. "Heh. Let's hope so." he replied. I nodded my head in agreement and then went back to snack searching. He watched me curiously as I was searching and then noticed the snack I was looking for at the top of the food pantry. I tried to reach for it myself, but I couldn't get to it. Zach blinked his eyes and then grabbed the snack. "Here you go." he said as he handed it over to me. "Thanks." I replied. "No problem." he replied. After that, we walked to the living room and saw the group watching TV. "What are you guys watching?" Zach asked them. "A replay of one of Zuzu's Contests." Celina replied as we sat down. "You guys missed Zuzu's performance. She did amazing." Sora replied. "I have a feeling she did amazing." I replied. "Really?" Zuzu replied. "Yeah. With you and Vulpix being completely in sync with each other, I guarantee that you both aced it." I replied. She smiled happily and gave me a side hug; thanking me. I hugged her back and opened up the snack bag in my hands. We watched the replay of the show and saw who was on screen next.

"Wait a minute... is that Sylvio?" said Pat. "Yep. That's him." Zuzu replied. Pat, Zach, Celina, and I groaned in agony; while Sora looked at us all confused. "You guys okay?" he asked us. "Yeah. We're okay. It's just we have a bad history with Sylvio." Pat replied. "Huh? How come?" Sora replied. "Sylvio and his goons were bullies to us when we were all in school together." Celina replied. "Ah. So he and his goons would always pick on you guys when no teacher was watching, right?" Sora replied. "Yep." Pat replied. "But now why is he doing Contests? I thought he said he would never do them?" Zach replied. "Because of Yuya." Zuzu replied. "Yuya? What did he do?" I replied. "Nothing. Sylvio saw how popular Yuya was getting in the Contest scene, got jealous, and then decided to do Contests; wanting to be better than him." Zuzu replied. "Have they ever went face-to-face in Contests yet?" Zach replied. "Only once. It was in Fuchsia City. Yuya defeated him with his Charizard." Zuzu replied. "What!? He has a Charizard!?" Celina replied. Zuzu nodded her head yes to her response. "You've never told me that when I last called you." Celina replied.

"That's because he wanted me to keep his Charizard a secret." Zuzu replied. "Ah... I see. Charizard is his ace of the team, huh?" Celina replied. "Yep. And his strongest. Trust me, he's not afraid to battle if he wants too." Zuzu replied. "Hmm? I wonder how Yuya's Charizard can take on Dragonfire if they meet?" Sora replied. "Oh, that would be interesting." Pat replied. "I think they would get along just fine. But in battle... I think Dragonfire would win." Zuzu replied. "Really?" I replied. "Mhm. Your Charizard has more battle experience than Yuya's. If he sees how he moves in battle, then you would have the advantage." Zuzu replied. "Huh? Maybe when we see him, we could see if that is true?" I replied. We smiled at each other happily and then looked back at the TV; seeing Yuya and his Charizard and Boltund on screen for the first time. "And there he is." said Celina with a smile. "He looks right at home on stage." Zach replied. "He sure does." Zuzu replied.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! I, Yuya Sakaki, am here to give you a performance that will leave you smiling for years to come! Now, it's Time to Swing into Action! Charizard, create rings of fire in the air with Fire Spin!" said Yuya. His Charizard roared happily and used Fire Spin to create rings of fire from his mouth and separated them with ease. "Boltund! Jump through the rings with Quick Attack!" said Yuya again. Boltund barked happily and used Quick Attack to jump through the rings. As he jumped through them a few times, he used his electricity to connect with the flames; making them crackle. "And now for my final trick. Come on out, Flygon!" said Yuya as took out a Luxury Ball and see Flygon on stage for the first time. Flygon let out a happy cry and saw its Trainer and companions. "Flygon! Use Stone Edge!" said Yuya. Flygon let out a cry, stomped its feet on the ground, and made big stones appear from the ground with glowing blue energy. Boltund ran up the rocks as Charizard flew upto the rings and they both passed through them very quickly as the stones touched the electric covered fire rings; making them explode like beautiful fireworks.

We were amazed at the performance; we couldn't help but smile. "Wow... he really is that good." Zach replied. "I guess that training with his Dad really paid off." Pat replied. "Yep." Zuzu and Celina replied. I nodded my head in agreement and then looked at Yuya's Flygon on screen again. I took out my phone and activated my PokéDex. "Flygon. The Mystic Pokémon. A Ground and Dragon type. And the evolved form of Vibrava. Flygon has been called "the Desert Spirit." With its powerful wings, it creates sandstorms to hide in." said my PokéDex. "Whoa..." Sora replied after he and the group heard Flygon's Dex entry. "How long has he had Flygon on his team?" Pat asked. "He's had it for a couple years now. Flygon and Boltund are more of performers than a battlers, while Charizard is a mix of the two." Zuzu replied. We all smiled warmly at each other and then kicked back to watch the rest of the show. As we watched the show, I began to think about the thing that connected with me at the Museum; wondering why it connected with me. When hearing its voice and calling me "Eve" again in my thoughts, it felt really familiar to me; as if I had known this voice before. But... why me? Why me of all people? What did that thing see of me as we connected? Was it because of my powers alone? I may not know for sure, but something in my soul tells me that I know this creature. Well... whatever that thing was... I hope nothing bad will happen to it.

An hour later and the replay of the Contest was over. All of our Pokémon ran and flew over to us; wondering what we were up to. We then got them their food and watched them eat peacefully together. To us, we were very surprised of how they all quickly got along with each other and enjoy each other's company. If they keep this bond strong with each other, they will be an unstoppable group when danger comes our way. After they ate, I walked over to my team, picked up their bowls, and put them on the countertop. "You guys all full?" I asked them. "Gey." Hurricane replied. "Ran." my Nidoran replied. "Pie." Caterpie replied. "Weedle." Weedle replied. "Pi-ka." Tetrax replied. "Bul-ba." Solar replied. Aurasoul and Dragonfire made happy sounds and nodded their heads yes to my question. "That's good to hear. Okay, let your tummies digest the food for a bit and then we'll go outside to train. That sound good?" I replied. They all nodded their heads in agreement and began to kick back and relax for a bit. I smiled warmly at them, picked up their bowls again, and walked to the kitchen. I set the bowls down next to the sink and began cleaning them.

As I was cleaning, Pat's Rattata was being chased by me and Celina's Nidoran's for some reason and they ran to the kitchen. Rattata jumped up on the cabinets and ran across them. As it ran, it also knocked over some stuff. I looked around for a second, and then saw both Nidoran's looking up at the long open cabinet line above me. I turned around and looked up as well; wondering what's going on. "What the?" I said to myself. After I said that, I saw Pat's Rattata run past my eyesight and knocked over a open bag of flour; dumping it all over me. "Rat!?" said Rattata in shock as it saw me. "Nido!?" said both Nidoran's in shock. "Nidoran? Are you alright?" said Celina as she and the group ran over. When they all stepped inside the kitchen, they saw me covered in flour and Rattata jump down to the counter, ran over to Pat, jumped on his shoulder, and nervously look at me; knowing what it just did. Pat and Sora laughed happily at me for a minute until the girls stopped them. "You okay, Taylor?" Zach asked me. "...Yeah. I'm fine." I replied as I turned to them. "You were lucky that you aren't wearing your hat, glove, and jacket right now." Zuzu replied. "That's true." I replied. I blinked my eyes and then shook my head for a couple seconds; getting some flour out of my hair.

"That helped?" Celina asked me. "A little bit... but this will do the trick." I replied as my Mark glew. I used my powers to create a green energy ring around me and made it separate into two rings to clean off all the flour on me. A few seconds later, the rings were gone and I was all cleaned up. "There. That'll do it." I said as my Mark stopped glowing. "What... you can do that?" Pat asked me. "Yep." I replied. "It was so fast. I guess you can do that whenever you're covered in something?" he replied. I nodded my head yes to his response and then saw Pat's Rattata jump off his shoulder and walk upto me alongside the two Nidoran's. They sniffed me for a moment and then my Nidoran jumped up into my arms happily. "Heh. Happy I'm not covered in flour anymore?" I asked him. "Ran!" he replied. I smiled at him happily and gave him a gentle hug; making him happy. I then put him back down on the floor and we watched him run off with Celina's Nidoran and Pat's Rattata to the living room. "So..? You're not mad about the flour thing?" Pat asked me. "Nah. I'm not mad about it. I think that happened because Rattata got a little too crazy during playtime with both Nidoran's, and it caused them to chase it to the kitchen and cause the incident." I replied. "Ah... I getcha. Okay. I'll make sure to keep my eyes on Rattata if it gets a little extreme." he replied. I nodded my head in thanks and then we went back to the living room.

Outside the Hotel- Training Area

A few hours later, my team and I went outside and began to train. I set up some training targets nearby and looked around in case people were walking by; hoping that I don't damage someone's property. As I was doing this, the group walked over to the area, sat down on a couple benches, and watched us silently. "Okay. Everything looks good." I said as I was observing the targets. I turned around and saw my whole team looking at me. "Alright. Who wants to train first?" I asked them. "Ni-do!" my Nidoran replied happily. "Bulba-saur!" Solar replied happily. Before I made my choice, Aurasoul walked upto me and pointed at Solar. He then told me through grunts that Solar needs this training badly in order to get over his past against Brock and his team. I nodded my head in understanding and then knelt down to Solar. "Okay. Solar? You ready?" I asked him. "Bulb!" he replied happily. "Ran!?" my Nidoran replied. "Don't worry, Nidoran. You will be up next. I promise. See the targets over there with Geodude pictures taped on them?" I replied. "Ni-do?" he replied curiously. "Those targets are for you to practice your Double Kick and Water Pulse. They're also gonna test you on how you can battle while getting your eyesight blocked, okay? All of us here are going to work together to overcome anything our opponents have against us. You, me, Solar, Tetrax, Dragonfire, Aurasoul, Hurricane, Caterpie, and Weedle are going to become strong together. As long as we can find a way to be completely in sync and battle and trust each other... we will be invincible." I replied.

"Ran!" he replied happily. He looked over to Solar and raised his paw up; wanting to give him a high paw. Solar smiled, made one of his vines appear, and gave Nidoran a high five with it. They nodded their heads to each other and then Solar walked upto me as I stood up and saw the first target with a Onix picture. "Okay. According to my Dex... your attacks are: Razor Leaf, Vine Whip, Tackle, and Solar Beam. Which would mean three of your attacks can take down Brock's team with ease." I said. "Saur." he replied. "And you have struggled against Onix in the last battle you had with it, right?" I replied. He nodded his head yes to my question. "Was it because it was too fast for you? Or your former Trainer's arrogance to push you harder to beat it?" I replied. "Saur." he replied. "Ah. It was the second one. Okay. So when you see the pictures of Onix on the targets now... do you feel angry? Do you feel angry towards Onix because of your former Trainer's actions towards you?" I replied. He thought about it for a moment, and then had flashbacks of battling against Brock's Onix with his former Trainer; remembering how the Trainer was angry at him. The flashbacks ended and he nodded his head yes to me. I nodded my head in understanding and then knelt down to him; giving him a gentle pat on the head.

"Bul-ba?" he said after I stopped patting his head. "Solar? I may not truly understand the pain that you went through... but I want you to know that you had done nothing wrong in that battle in the past. You did the best that you could do in trying to win. But if anyone had to be blamed in all of that... it was your former Trainer. They were blinded by anger and arrogance towards you, and unleashed it all on you without any understanding why they made the mistakes they did. They have no one to blame except for themselves. And after the defeat, they set you free in Viridian Forest and tried to find a Pokémon that would be stronger than you to defeat Brock. But I think we know that didn't happen. I think that they lost to Brock and Onix a couple more times until they realized how blinded they were by anger, arrogance, and negligence. Hopefully they will also see how wrong they treated you too." I replied. Solar's eyes widened in surprise to my words, and then he nodded his head to me; seeing that I was right. "Bulba-saur. Bul-bulba. Bul-ba-saur." he said. "Yeah. And I hope that they have learned their lesson too. Who knows? If we ever see your former Trainer out there, we'll take them on together and show them how strong you really are." I replied.

"Bul-ba!" he replied happily. We smiled warmly at each other and then looked back at the targets. "Okay. Here's the game plan. We're going to find a way to channel your anger towards Onix without letting your anger and other emotions blindly take you over. Because I know once you see it again, you're going to have those flashbacks from that battle. So, we need to find a way to keep your emotions in balance. For example, by looking at the picture right now... you would want to use Razor Leaf at it the moment it appears on the field, right?" I replied. After I said that, Solar used Razor Leaf and hit the picture; shocking my team and the group watching from the benches. Solar blinked his eyes and saw the calm look on my face; realizing that I was unfazed by his actions. "Bul-ba?" he said in a slight sad and curious tone. "It's okay. It's okay. You see? I knew you were going to do that anyway because I can feel the anger burning up inside you. The anger that you're holding inside you is trying to burn its way out and make you go into a uncontrollable rage like a forest fire. If you let it control you and your mind like that... it will drag you down into a deep pit of darkness that can trap you until you take your last breath." I replied as I fixed the target and put a new Onix picture on it.

Solar looked at me and the damaged picture a few times in shock after I said my words to him. He blinked his eyes and then looked up at me; seeing how calm I was through this. "...Bul-ba... Bulbasaur." he said as tears began to form in his eyes. I walked over to him, knelt down, picked him up, and hugged him as he cried. "Hey... it's okay. I know. I know that you're overwhelmed right now. I know what that feeling is like. Whenever I felt overwhelmed by something as a kid, I would hide in my room and cry my eyes out until I fall asleep; thinking it was the only way to calm me down. I used to do that all the time until I realized something." I replied. "Bul-ba?" he replied as he lifted his head off my shoulder and looked at me with his teary eyes. "I realized that I had people to talk about my feelings with. People that understand how I feel about things that make me mad and upset. People that can talk me through those problems and help me find a way to solve them without my emotions taking over me. When they gave me the advice I needed, I began to start controlling my emotions and became a stronger version of myself that I have never known before. All it took was love, patience, kindness, and trust in the people that I care for most. As long as I have their support in whatever I do, I knew that I was going to be okay." I replied.

"Saur..." he replied in a soft tone. He blinked his eyes and wiped away his tears with his vines; calming down from his little breakdown. He made his vines disappear and then looked at me in the eyes. "Are you all good now? We a-okay?" I asked him. He nodded his head yes to my question and showed a warm smile on his face. "Bulbasaur." he replied. I smiled warmly at him and gave him a gentle hug; making him happy. We ended the hug and I gently put him back down on the grass; looking at the target again. He blinked his eyes once, closed them, took a deep breath, opened them again, and looked up at me. I looked down at him and saw a determined look in his eyes. "You ready? Ready to control your emotions and the battlefield?" I asked him. "Saur." he replied as he nodded his head yes to me. I lightly smiled, nodded my head to him, and then we turned to the targets. "Okay. Solar! Use Razor Leaf!" I said. "Saur! Bul-ba-saur!" Solar replied as he launched razor-sharp leaves from the bottom of the bulb on his back at the target; hitting it with ease. He stopped the attack a few seconds and then began to run upto the next one. "Alright. Now use Vine Whip to jump up in the air and use Razor Leaf again!" I said.

Solar made two vines appear from the bottom of his bulb and used them to jump up in the air and then used Razor Leaf again as the target was launched to him from the launchpad. He landed back down on the grass gently as the target fell down cut in half. "Great job, Solar!" I said happily. "Saur!" he replied happily as he turned to me with a smile. "Okay. Now, we're going to practice your speed. See those ones here on the hooks and on the ground there?" I replied as we looked to our right. "Bul-ba." he replied. "The ones with the hooks are going to have stuff fall from them; acting like Onix's Rock Slide or Rock Throw. And the ones on the ground are going to make the ground shake a bit when you're near it; making you feel the vibration of a Earthquake, Dig, or Magnitude. When you fell the vibration near or under your feet when Onix is underground, that's when you dodge from that spot and quickly get out of the way from it before it can hit you." I replied. "Saur." he replied as he nodded his head in understanding. "But sometimes if it comes up from underground and gets sand or dirt, dust, or sand in your eyes... you might lose your sight for a bit. So when that happens, you need to focus on your sense of hearing and touch. Because if your opponent sees you just rubbing your eyes and stand in one spot for a while, that's going to give them an advantage to get you." I replied. "Bulbasaur." he replied.

After that conversation, the targets with the hooks activated; dropping some rocks from the bags above. Solar watched them as they dropped and timed them each time as they fell and got close to him. He dodged them with ease and looked at the exposed targets as they were revealed. "Bul-ba-saur!" he said as the targets opened up. "Nice work, Solar! Now, use Vine Whip on the open targets!" I replied. He smirked and made two vines form the bottom of the bulb on his back and began hitting the targets with them; breaking them down to the ground. He made the vines disappear and then saw the targets on the ground. He stood tall, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath; ready to strike when told. He tapped his feet on the ground and began to feel vibration under his feet. He opened his eyes and jumped away from the sensors and used Razor Leaf to hit the targets; taking them down. "Great job, Solar!" I said.

He turned to me with a smile and saw me give him a thumbs up; showing how proud I was of him. After that, we looked at the one target left standing. As we looked at it, I saw Solar charging up energy on the bulb on his back from the sunlight shining down on him. I blinked my eyes and smiled confidently on what he was doing. He turned his head to me and nodded his head with a confident smile. "Okay. This is it. One last target. Solar, give it all you got with Solar Beam!" I said. "Saur! Bul-ba-saur!" Solar replied as he turned to the target and used Solar Beam; hitting the final target. The attack ended and we saw the target fall apart from the tall stand it once stood and turn to soot. "Alright! Way to go, Solar!" I said happily as I ran over to him. He turned to me with a big smile, ran over to me, and jumped up in my arms. I hugged him happily and looked at the smile on his face. "You were awesome out there, Solar. I'm so proud of you." I said happily. "Bulba-saur!" he replied happily. I hugged him again, gently put him down on the grass, and gave him some treats; making him happy. He ate the treats from my hand and then gave me a high five with one of his vines. After that, he ran over to my team; seeing and hearing them praise him for his training.

I smiled happily at their actions and then looked over to the next set of targets. I walked over to them and saw how happy they were and then look at me. "Ni-do?" said my Nidoran curiously. After he said that, Solar used one of his vines to pat Nidoran's back and made him turn to him; letting him know that it is his turn now to train. "Ran?" he said as he turned to me. I nodded my head yes to him; making him happy. "You ready, Nidoran?" I asked him. "Ran!" he replied happily. He jumped up on my shoulder and began nuzzling my face happily. "Okay, okay. Let's get to work, buddy." I said happily. "Nido-ran!" he replied happily. He jumped down from my shoulder and ran upto his starting point for the targets; ready to train. As we trained, Celina and the others smiled happily as I worked and bond with my team.

"Wow... I've never seen a Trainer work with Pokémon like that before. She actually found a way to help Solar control his emotions." said Sora. "Yeah. It felt like she knew what was going through his heart and mind and helped him find some kind of inner peace in himself." Zuzu replied. The group nodded their heads in agreement to their words and looked at their Pokémon as they watched mine cheer on Nidoran as he used Water Pulse on the ground targets. "Who knows how she did it, but if she truly has the ability to understand the feelings of Pokémon... we can really learn a lot from her and them; wondering how we can work together as equals and make this world a better place for all of us." said Pat. "Yeah." Celina replied as she nodded her head in agreement. Zach watched me in silence and then looked down at his Squirtle; seeing it watch my Nidoran silently. "Studying on how he's using Water Pulse, buddy?" he asked it. Squirtle looked up at him and nodded its head yes to his question. "Well, maybe after they're done with training, they can teach you on how to use that attack? Sound good?" he said. "Squirtle!" Squirtle replied happily. They smiled at each other happily and then all of a sudden, everyone heard a loud splash of water.

They looked over and saw my team scatter away and saw Dragonfire wearing my hat on his head. They stood up and ran over to me; seeing me all soak and wet. "Uh-oh..." said Celina. "Good thing her phone is in her Bag." Zuzu replied as she pointed to our Bags. "Tay..? You alright?" Zach asked me. I didn't answer him after he asked; making him concerned. He took a couple steps forward, and then I quickly shook my head; making him back up all surprised. I lifted my head up and saw my friend's faces looking at me. "I'm guessing that Nidoran got you wet from the Water Pulse, right?" Pat asked me. I nodded my yes to him and then we saw Zach's Squirtle try to do something. "Huh!? Squirtle? What are you doing?" said Zach in a surprised tone. Squirtle jumped out of Zach's arms and then let out a beam of bubbles from his mouth; aiming at my hair. "What's it doing?" Zach asked us. "It's using Bubble Beam to help Taylor clean up her hair." Celina replied. "Oh? That's what it's doing?" Zach replied. "Mhm. It just wants to help. That's all." Celina replied. Squirtle stopped using Bubble Beam and my hair was back to normal. I looked down at Squirtle and saw it smiling happily at me. "Thank you, Squirtle." I said happily to it as I knelt down and gently petted its head; making it happy. "Squirtle-squirt." it replied happily.

I stood back up and looked at everyone as they looked at me. Dragonfire walked upto me, patted my head with his paw, and put my hat back on my head. He turned it backwards as he out it back on my head, stepped back a couple steps, and gave me a thumbs up with a happy sound. I smiled warmly at him and gave him a thumbs up as well; making him happy. After that, we gave each other a fist bump. "Wow. You two must have a strong bond." said Celina. "We sure do. Right, Dragonfire?" I replied. Dragonfire made a happy sound and nodded his head yes to our responses. We all laughed happily together, and then we all went back to the hotel for the rest of the day. Before leaving, I picked up all the targets that I used for the training session and put them away in both the garbage and my Bag.

Pewter City Hotel

We walked inside of our room and started to prepare dinner for all of us. We sat down in the living room and ate together. As we ate, we watched all of our Pokémon eating together on the giant patio together happily. We turned away from them and saw Brock's interview with reporters on the newest exhibit in the Museum; seeing the mysterious thing on screen for the first time. As he talked about it, I looked down at my right hand; remembering the encounter again. I clutched my hand into a fist in silence for a moment and then got back to normal. A few hours had passed and it was time for everyone to head to bed. I sat out on the bedroom patio and looked out to the starry sky with my team; relaxing and enjoying the view quietly together. I turned to the bedroom and saw both Celina and Zuzu sound asleep with Vulpix, Pikachu, and Nidoran female. I smiled warmly at them, turned back to the sky, let out a quiet yawn, and began to fall asleep on the long chair.

As I tried to sleep, I heard the sound of an alarm go off. I opened my eyes, sat up, and looked out to the Museum was. "What's going on over there?" I said to myself as I stood up and tried to get a closer look. As I looked, I saw a beam of energy break through the roof of the Museum and see flames around the hole of the blast. My eyes widened in shock to this and I turned to my team; seeing the same shocked faces on them as well. "Come on. We gotta help the people stuck in there." I said to them. They all nodded their heads in understanding, and we got off the patio and went to the Museum.

Pewter City Museum

"Haha! Nice work, boys! Da Boss is going to be real happy with what we have in store for 'em!" said the Leader of the group. "Yeah! All these Gems, jewelry, Fossils, Bones, Nuggets, and the newest exhibit!" one of the Leader's members replied. "Yeah. That big thing is gonna sell good for Da Boss." another member replied. "Alright. Get 'em all in the truck before the cops arrive. They'll see the message when they get here." the Leader replied. "Yes, sir." the group replied. They stored what they stole inside the big truck they were using and began to drive away. They gloated in victory for a moment, and then saw something blocking their way. "Ey! Stop the truck!" said the Leader. They stopped the truck, walked outside and saw what was in their way. "What the? It's just a bunch of webs? What are they doing around here?" said one of the thieves. "I guess some kid just let their Caterpie of Weedle go nuts with this?" another thief replied. "Eh whatever. Just cut it down." the Leader replied. "Yes, sir. Bisharp! Use Slash on the webs!" a thief replied as he threw up a PokéBall. Bisharp appeared from its PokéBall, made the blades on its arms glow white and slashed the webs with them. "Bisharp." said Bisharp as its blades stopped glowing.

Before the thief returned Bisharp to its Ball, it was hit by an Aura Sphere; knocking Bisharp back. "Bisharp!" said the thief. Bisharp stood up and looked around the area; wondering who attacked it. The rest of the thieves grabbed out their PokéBalls and threw them in the air; sending out Skarmory, Weezing, Arbok, Krookodile, Seviper, Tyranitar, and Houndoom. They looked around and then saw a Flamethrower and Aura Sphere come at them; making them dodge. "Alright, you little punk. Come out, whoever you are! I promise you that I'll make this quick!" said the Leader. After he said that, Skarmory and Arbok were shocked by a Thunderbolt; knocking them out. "What the!?" said two of the thieves. They turned around and saw me and my team appear in front of them; staring them down. They stared at me in shock for a moment and then began to laugh at me. "Well, well... would you look at this? A little kid with a bunch of Pokémon who think they can stop us? How cute." said the Leader.

"I'm not here to play games. Surrender and return all the items you have stolen from the Museum." I replied sternly. "Or else what? You're going to fight us until the cops show up? If I were you... I'd step aside, sweet-cake. This is none of your business. Kids like you should let the adults handle stuff like this." the Leader replied as his Houndoom growled at me. "You're right. This isn't my business... but that doesn't mean a thing with me. I'm here to stop you no matter what." I replied as my team and I got into our battle stances. "Oh... you're a gutsy one. I like that. Okay, boys! Let's take this kid down!" the Leader replied. After that we started our battle. "Seviper, use Poison Tail!" said one of the thieves. Seviper's sharp-tipped tail glew purple and slithered towards us. "Caterpie! Weedle! String Shot!" I replied. Caterpie and Weedle leapt off my shoulders and used String Shot to wrap Seviper up in their webs. "Seviper!?" said Seviper in shock. "Now throw it back to them!" I replied. Caterpie and Weedle threw Seviper back to the thieves with all their strength; knocking them out.

"Cheap shot, kid... Arbok, wrap them up!" said another thief. Arbok hissed and slithered towards us again; aiming at Caterpie and Weedle. "Nidoran! Horn Attack! Hurricane! Sand Attack!" I replied. "Gey!" Hurricane replied. "Ni-do!" Nidoran replied. Hurricane used Sand Attack to blind Arbok and Nidoran used Horn Attack on Arbok's stomach; sending it back and knocking it out. The Leader turned to me with a glare and clutched his fist in anger. "That's it, kid! You're going down! Houndoom, Fire Spin! Weezing, Smokescreen!" said the Leader. They both did what they were asked and trapped us in a smokey, fiery vortex. "Krookdile! Tyranitar! Hyper Beam!" he said. The two Pokémon charged up a beam of energy in their mouths and fired them at us; knocking us out of the vortex and injuring us. "Haha! Yeah! We got 'em!" some of the thieves said. "Not quite yet. Weezing, use Explosion!" the Leader replied.

We slowly stood up and saw Weezing quickly appear in front of us and used the attack on us; injuring us more. We fell back and layed down on the ground in pain as our foes celebrated. I slowly lifted my head up and tried to reach out to my team. As I did this, my Mark began to glow again; making my eyes widen in shock. "You! Reincarnation of Eve! Let me help you!" said a voice in my thoughts. "That voice... it's you... the one I saw in the Museum!" I replied in my thoughts. "I can help you stop them! I can save you and your team! Please, let me help you!" the voice replied. I nodded my head in understanding and then my Mark began to glow brighter. As it did, the thieves heard an explosion from the truck and saw something fly from it. "What da hell is that!?" said one of the thieves. "It's the newest exhibit! It's alive!" another thief replied. "But... how?" the Leader replied. The creature turned to me with the glowing green mark on its chest and quickly flew over to me. I looked up and saw it alive for the first time; seeing it eye-to-eye. We stared at each other as our Marks glew and it reached its hand out to me. "What are you doing?" I asked it. "I'm doing what I said I was going to do. I'm going to help you." it replied. As its hand got close, we were surrounded in a multi-colored light and fused together.

The light disappeared a moment later, and I stood tall in black crystalline armor with spikes around the collar of my neck. The palms of my hands were white and in a triangle shape; covered by my claws. My back was white with a dark gray star symbol on it, and I had a face mask that covered my mouth that had the same color spots the creature had on its face. I opened my eyes and they were same colors at the creatures eyes and our Mark was glowing on the chest of the armor. Everyone was looking at me in shock for the first time; wondering how did this happen. "It fused with the kid... how the hell did you do that..? Ah well. It doesn't matter how you did it. All that matter is that I'm beating you and taking your Pokémon as my prize!" said the Leader. After that, all the Pokémon he and the thieves used came right at me. I stood tall and made a protective shield of light around my team. They looked at me as I did this and saw me looking at them. "It's going to be alright. We can take care of them. Just stay here." I said to them. After that, I went after the group of the thieves Pokémon and began my fight with them.

I slashed, dodged, punched, and kicked through their attacks and pushed them back. Tyranitar roared at me and ran upto me and tried to hit me with its tail. I dodged it with ease and then used Close Combat on it; knocking it out a moment later. Krookodile ran up next with Houndoom and they tried to use Night Slash and Flamethrower on me. I used Protect to save myself and then got out of the way. After dropping the forcefield, I used Metal Claw on Krookodile and Brick Break on Houndoom; knocking them out. I then turned around to Weezing and saw it prepare to use Explosion again. My eyes glew brightly at this and I put my hands together in a triangle shape; aiming at Weezing and making multi-colored energy in my hands. "Prismatic Laser!" said me and the creature together. We fired the attack at Weezing and knocked it out cold. The thieves stared at me in shock and tried to run back to the truck. I turned around, reached my hand out to them, and used Psychic to grab and hold them down. "Where do you think you're going?" I said to them as I started the attack.

After they were held down, I walked over to them slowly and saw them nervously look at me. "What... what the hell are you?!" said the Leader. "I'm your worst nightmare." I replied. I used Psychic with my other hand to grab a rope and tie them up with it. I put them down to the ground and stopped using Psychic on them. After that I reached my hand out to them and made my Mark glow again to use my powers on them. "There. Now you have no memory of us. All that you remember is the monster that came to stop you and save this City." I said to them. After that, I left them at the truck and went over to my team. I dropped the shield and healed their wounds. They looked at me all worried at seeing me like this, but suddenly calmed down and realized that this was still me deep inside. "Come on, let's get out of here." I said to them. They nodded their heads in agreement and then we left the area. As we went back to the hotel, we saw the sirens of the cops nearby and heard the thieves getting arrested.

Outside the Pewter City Hotel

I stood on top of the hill and unfused with the creature; returning back to normal. I went down on my knee, took a few quick deep breaths, and saw that my wounds were healed. I stood back up and saw the creature staring at me as I looked at it. "Are you alright?" it asked me. "Yeah. I'm okay. Thanks to you." I replied. "My pleasure." it replied. "So..? Who are you? Are you a Pokémon?" I replied. "My name is Necrozma. I am a Pokémon that had worked alongside the Guardians and the creator of this planet thousands of years ago." Necrozma replied. "Necrozma? That's a interesting name?" I replied. I took out my Phone, pointed the camera towards Necrozma, and activated my PokéDex. "Necrozma. The Prism Pokémon. A Psychic-type. Reminiscent of the Ultra Beasts, this life-form, apparently asleep underground, is thought to have come from another world in ancient times." said my PokéDex. "Whoa..." I said to myself. "Your PokéDex is correct. I do not look like the Pokémon that live on this planet. My species come from a dimension that is far different from yours." Necrozma replied. "Do you remember what your world was like?" I replied.

"Unfortunately... I do not remember what it looked like. I have spent centuries in this dimension, working alongside the Guardians that I forgot what my homeworld was like." it replied. "Guardians?" I replied. "Yes. The Guardians that were chosen by Arceus to help guide humans and Pokémon to a peaceful future and protect the planet from disasters. I have worked with the first two chosen Guardians: Adam and Eve. They were two humans from Celestic Town in now what is known as the Sinnoh region who were born with powers from Arceus. Powers that can make them use the attacks and abilities of Pokémon to help out others or to battle enemies that try to take them down." it replied. My eyes widened in shock to its words and then I looked down at my Mark as it lightly glew green. "No way... that sounds like the story that my grandma told me and my family back in Celestic Town since I was a kid." I said in a soft, shocked tone. "Were you born there?" it replied curiously. I nodded my head yes to it. "So... it is true. Just like what Arceus said." it replied. "What did it say?" I replied. "Arceus said to me that the reincarnation of Eve would be born in Celestic Town 11 years ago from where we are now. When I tried to find you, I was surrounded by Trainers who tried to capture me. I flew away from them as fast as I could and then landed at Mt. Moon. I was exhausted from my flight that I fell into a deep slumber. During that time, Arceus told me that you will find me. Though your soul may not fully remember me, it said that I must do everything I can to protect you." it replied.

"Eve? Was that the name you called me when we first met?" I replied. Necrozma nodded its head yes to my question. "And you knew because of our powers connecting to each other?" I said. "Correct." it replied. "Wow... this... this is a lot to take in right now. So... let me get this straight. You're saying that I am the reincarnation of Eve? I have all her powers and abilities that Arceus blessed her with?" I replied. "You do. You are her reincarnation." it replied. "How did you two meet?" I replied. "She met me after I came to this world from a Ultra Wormhole. I was escaping from other of my kind that wanted to kill me. I landed at Mt. Coronet all injured and exhausted. Before I passed out, that was when I met her face to face. She had long blonde hair and green eyes; unlike your short, curly brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a outfit that resembled Arceus and a black cloak that was green on the inside. She healed me with her powers and stayed by me until I could finally get back up on my own. When staying by me and protecting me, I saved her from a rampaging Pokémon. I told her that I owed her one for saving my life. She then brought me to the Temple of Sinnoh and introduced me to her ally, Adam, and their leader Arceus for the first time. They were curious of me of course, but once they learned that I protected Eve and never attacked her; they welcomed me with open arms. Arceus then blessed me with Infinite Light and the same mark that you have. Ever since that day, I worked alongside them to keep the world at peace and in balance. We even taught most of humanity at times to respect the Legendaries that roam and protect their respected regions." it replied.

I was amazed by its story and then looked down at my Mark and then Necrozma's Mark as they glew together. "Necrozma? Did you form a special bond with Eve after she saved you?" I asked it. " I did. She was the only human who truly understood me for who I am and what I can do to help others. I guess that she saw something special in me that not even I knew?" Necrozma replied. "And you were important to her. You were her Partner." I replied. Necrozma was surprised at my words and then saw me put my right hand to my heart. "You know? When we first talked at the Museum... something in my soul was telling me that I knew you. Just from hearing your voice... it really felt I have known you for a very long time. I... I guess that this was Eve's way of trying to tell me that it was you. And now hearing your story and how you met her... I can fully see who you are. You were her ally. Her Partner Pokémon. But most importantly... you were her best friend." I replied. Necrozma was touched by my words and then put its hand to its chest; feeling its face and "heart" warm up. "...Thank you, Reincarnation of Eve..." it said. "Call me Taylor." I replied. "Okay. Thank you, Taylor. Just to hear what you said on how Eve felt about me... it made me fell... warm." it replied.

"Aww. I guess that I warmed your heart, huh?" I replied. Necrozma let out a happy chuckle and nodded to me. "I guess you can say that." Necrozma replied in a happy tone. I smiled warmly at it and then we turned to the Museum and saw the cop cars drive away from the Museum. "Necrozma? When you did what you did to me in that fight..? What was it?" I asked it. " I used my powers to fuse with you; letting you have pieces of my body as armor to you and let our minds connect as one. We fight as one together when we can do this only in dire situations; whether its saving lives or fighting other people or Pokémon that are trying to harm others." it replied. "Was this something you've done with Eve before?" I replied. "Indeed." it replied. "Wow. It must've felt weird at first to fuse with each other?" I replied. "It was. But once we kept doing that in certain battles, we got pretty much used to it. It felt like we were more in sync with each other as we did that." it replied. "Because you two fully trusted each other." I replied. "Correct." it replied. "And what about Adam? Can you fuse with him too?" I replied. "...No. I cannot. We fully trust each other, but he always saw me as Eve's signature partner when it comes to battles." it replied. "Huh? That's interesting." I replied.

We turned back around to my team; seeing them stare at Necrozma curiously. "It's okay, guys. Necrozma's not going to hurt you. It's a good Pokémon." I said to them. They blinked their eyes and slowly came upto it; getting a closer look at it. "Necrozma, these are my Pokémon: Tetrax, Aurasoul, Dragonfire, Hurricane, Nidoran, Caterpie, Weedle, and Solar. Everyone, this is Necrozma: a Pokémon that worked alongside the Guardians in the Sinnoh region." I said to them; introducing them to each other. "It's nice to meet all of you." said Necrozma. My team blinked their eyes again and then happily greeted Necrozma; making us happy. "They like you already." I said. "I guess it's from what they saw us do to protect them and from our conversation." it replied. I nodded my head in agreement to its response and then we all looked up at the sky; seeing a full moon shine brightly in the sky. "It is a beautiful night, is it?" said Necrozma. "It sure it." I replied. We looked up at the sky silently, and then I looked down at my pocket; taking out a PokéBall. I stared at it silently for a moment and then turned to Necrozma as it interacted with my team.

Necrozma lightly laughed happily with my team for a moment and then they all turned to me. I walked upto them and showed them the PokéBall in my hand. "What is that?" Necrozma asked me. "It's a PokéBall." I replied. "PokéBall? What does it do?" it replied curiously. "It helps Trainers catch Pokémon in the wild. Sometimes Trainers use them to catch Pokémon to save them from danger." I replied. "Do the Pokémon feel comfortable inside those things after being caught?" it replied. "Mhm." I replied as I nodded my head yes to it. "Huh? This is such an interesting device. How did this come to existence?" it replied. "Well, according to the stories that my grandparents told me... they were made in the ancient Sinnoh region by Professor Laventon. He made them with certain materials and then let member of the group that he worked for in Jubilife Village to catch wild Pokémon and help him in his research." I replied. "Ancient... Sinnoh? Do you mean... Hisui?" it replied. "Hisui? Was that the Sinnoh region's original name?" I replied curiously. Necrozma nodded its head yes to me. "Wow... I guess there is more history of Sinnoh, or should I say Hisui, out there that I got to know about." I said. "Indeed. There is a lot of things that you must know about it. It is enriched with the history of Arceus and its chosen Guardians." it replied. I nodded my head in agreement to its response and then we looked down at the PokéBall again.

"Necrozma? I know this might be crazy to ask you this, but... do you... want to come with me on my journey?" I asked it. "Are you asking me for permission to catch me with that device and travel the world alongside you?" it replied. I nodded my head yes to its question as my team stood around me. Necrozma thought about it for a moment and then looked at my eyes. "...Yes. I would like to join you." it said. "Really?" I replied happily. It nodded its head to me and then our Mark's began to glow brightly. The light of our Mark's then took over the PokéBall and changed its colors to white on the top and green on the bottom and a red button. On top on the Ball showed a golden yellow mark that had the same symbol as our Marks. "Whoa... what just happened?" I said in a soft, surprised tone. "Our Marks made the PokéBall transform into a different kind PokéBall." Necrozma replied. "What do we call it?" I replied. "I guess we can call it the Guardian Ball." it replied. We looked at it silently for a moment and then Necrozma touched the button with one of its claws; starting the capture process. It shook once and then made a dinging sound; confirming the capture. "Necrozma has been registered to your PokéDex." said my Phone.

My team and I looked at the Guardian Ball and smiled warmly at it. I put it close to my heart and lowered my head. "Necrozma. I promise to protect you with all my life. Just like what Eve did for you many centuries ago. With you by my side, we will spread the message that Arceus told us, keep the world at peace, in balance, and teach people and Pokémon how they can live and work together to protect the innocent and bring the cruel to justice. And I promise to keep Eve's legacy alive. I will tell her story all over the world and let the people and Pokémon understand the good things she had done with you, Adam, and Arceus to inspire others to do good and take care of the planet; just like what all of you have done." I said. We then looked up at the night sky again; seeing the stars shine bright. We stared at them silently for a little while and then went back upto the patio and went to bed. I pulled out a blanket from my Bag, laid down on the long chair, and fell asleep with my team peacefully; knowing tomorrow is going to be a very important day.

Thank you so much for reading Chapter 4 of the story! Man... a lot of stuff has happened here with this one. First, meeting Brock. Then getting Fossils, and finally meeting and catching Necrozma. And this Necrozma is a special one because of its connection to the Guardians. I knew that once I was writing this Chapter, I had to put Necrozma in here because of its alien-like appearance and help Taylor learn more of her Guardian powers and their history. This also gives the Guardians a slight introduction. Now that we know Taylor is the reincarnation of Eve, that means the reincarnation of Adam is out there somewhere. Who could this person be? Is it someone she knows? Or could it be someone she had never met before? All I can tell you is that you will find out someday soon.

And she is also going to keep Necrozma hidden away from the group for a quite a while. Deep in her heart, she wants to show it to them, but she knows that she's not ready to reveal it to them just yet. So for now, she's going to keep it a secret. Maybe she will reveal it to them when they are in a big group battle sometime in the future. Anyways, thank you so much for reading Chapter 4 of the story and have yourself an awesome day!

Next time, Chapter 5: Showdown in Pewter Gym! The group arrives at the Pewter City Gym and Taylor has her first ever Gym battle against Brock! How will handle the pressure against Brock's stone cold team? Find out in Chapter 5!
