Chapter 8: Splash of Rage

Route 4

The morning sun shined bright in the clear blue sky. A flock of Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot were flying through the sky alongside a flock of Spearow and Fearow; waking up everyone in the area with their cries and letting them know that a new day has just begun. As their cries echoed through the sky, me and the group were running towards Cerulean City; ready to kick back and explore it all for the first time together. "Slow down, guys!" said Zuzu. "No way! You gotta pick up the pace!" Sora replied. He laughed happily and then saw Zach quickly run past him. "Huh!? Hey!" he yelled. Zach laughed happily as he ran past all of us and turned back at us; seeing us trying to catch up. He smirked happily and then saw me and Celina quickly catch upto him. "Heh. Finally, some competition." he said. "Come on, Zach. Don't be cocky." Celina replied. "How come?" he replied. "Because Taylor already won the race." she replied. "Huh!?" he replied in shock as he turned towards the city and saw me at the edge of the grassy path.

They and the others stopped running, walked upto me, and wiped off the sweat on their foreheads. "Tired?" I asked. "A little bit." Zach replied. "Here. Have these bottles. I collected some of the water of the lake from Mt. Moon Square and put them there." I replied as I handed the group the water bottles. "Thank you, Taylor." said Sora. "You're welcome. Oh! I also have these little water packet things. Open these up, pour them into the water, shake it a bit, and it will add some vitamins and electrolytes in it to help you quench your thirst." I replied as I took out the water packets from my bag and handed them to the group. They opened the packets, poured the stuff into the water, shook the bottles a bit, and began to drink the water. "Ah. Hey... this stuff ain't bad." said Pat. "Yeah. It actually made the water taste better than the ones you get from the store." Sora replied. "Hey, Tay? Where did you get these packets?" Pat replied. "At the general store in Pewter City. They were on sale." I replied. "Nice. Hopefully stores all over the region are selling this stuff, 'cause this stuff is good!" he replied.

"Thanks. I'll keep my eyes open for them if I see them." I replied. We laughed happily for a moment, and then heard something in the grass. We quickly turned to the grass and prepared ourselves for battle. As we stared at the area, we saw a group of three Pokémon jump out in front of us. "Key!" they screeched. We jumped out of the way, turned around, and saw them staring at us. "What are those Pokémon?" said Zuzu. "Those are Mankey!" Celina replied. "Mankey?" Zuzu replied as she took out her Phone and activated her PokéDex. "Mankey, the Pig Monkey Pokémon. A Fighting type. An agile Pokémon that lives in trees. It angers easily and will not hesitate to attack anything. The smallest of things could cause it to lose its temper. Because it doesn't hold in its stress, this Pokémon can live a long time." said Zuzu's PokéDex. Our eyes widened in shock to the entry and then dodged their Fury Swipes attack as they tried to jump on us.

"I don't think so. Wartortle! Water Pulse!" said Zach. "Tor! War-tor-tle!" Wartortle replied as it used Water Pulse on the Mankey; pushing them back. The Mankey shook off the water and then began to charge at us again. "Vulpix, Flamethrower! Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" said Zuzu. "Vul! Vul-pix!" Vulpix replied as she used Flamethrower; surprising the Mankey. "Pika! Pi-ka-chu!" Zuzu's Pikachu replied as she used Thunderbolt; zapping the Mankey. "Man-key!" they replied as they were zapped. "They're all yours, guys." Zuzu replied. "Thanks, Zuzu." Pat replied. "Now, PokéBall go!" he, Celina, and Sora replied as they threw their PokéBalls at the Mankey. The three PokéBalls hit the Mankey and began the capture process. After three shakes each, the captures were complete. "Mankey has been registered to your PokéDex." said Pat's Phone. We breathed sighs of relief and then watched Pat, Celina, and Sora pick up their newly caught Mankey. "Alright! We caught Mankey!" Sora cheered. "Munch-Munchlax!" Munchlax cheered.

"Congrats, you guys." said Zach. "Thanks, man. We wouldn't catch them if it wasn't for you and Zuzu helping out." Pat replied. "No problem. That's what friends are for." Zach replied. They shared a fist bump and then we continued our walk. As we walked, something had slithered over Zuzu and Celina's feet; freezing them into shock. They shrieked and held each other in their arms from the shock. "What? What happened?" Pat asked. "S-Something just went over our feet." Zuzu replied nervously. We looked down to the ground and saw nothing there. "What are you two talking about? I don't see anything here besides our feet." he said. "Wait." I replied. "Huh?" he replied curiously. "Look to your right." I replied. We looked to the right and saw something begin to climb up a tree. "Whoa... it's a Ekans." said Sora. "Yeah. And look over there on the branch." Zach replied. We looked to the branch and saw a Pokémon sitting on the branch; sleeping away. "It's an Abra." he said. I took out my Phone and activated my PokéDex.

"Ekans, the Snake Pokémon. A Poison type. It sneaks through grass without making a sound and strikes unsuspecting prey from behind. By dislocating its jaw, it can swallow prey larger than itself. After a meal, it curls up and rests. Abra, the Psi Pokémon. A Psychic type. Abra sleeps for eighteen hours a day. However, it can sense the presence of foes even while it is sleeping. In such a situation, this Pokémon immediately teleports to safety." said my PokéDex. "Whoa..." Pat and Sora replied. "Yeah. Tell that to many Trainers that tried to catch Abra. All they do is teleport away." Celina replied. "Lemme guess? You tried to catch one before?" I replied. "Mhm. It was last semester. And I don't wanna talk about it." she replied. "Gotcha." I replied. We watched Ekans silently slither behind Abra and try to attack it, but Abra striked back and sent it down to the ground; surprising all of us. "Looks like this one is a fighter." said Zach. Abra jumped down to the ground and it and Ekans stared at each other; ready to fight. "Ab-ra!" said Abra; calling for its allies.

A few seconds later, we saw two more Abra appear. Ekans hissed in shock and then attacked them. "Watch out!" said Sora. We all stepped back and watched them battle. "It's 3 against 1. This isn't fair." said Zuzu. "Well what do we do?" Pat replied. As we watched, I tapped Zach and Celina's shoulders; making them turn to me curiously. "What's up?" Zach asked me. "Follow me. If we can catch them from behind, they won't teleport away." I replied. "Seriously?" he replied. "I like where this is going. Alright. We'll follow your lead." Celina replied. The three of us quietly snook away from the group, ducked down to the grass, crawled through the grass, and prepared our PokéBalls. Ekans hissed loudly and striked the three Abra with its tails and knocked them towards us. The Abra stood up and prepared themselves to use Teleport. "Now!" I said. The Abra turned around in shock and saw three PokéBalls appear out of nowhere and hit them; beginning the capture process. They shook three times and the captures were complete. "Abra has been registered to your PokéDex." said Zach's Phone.

"Huh!? Who did that?" said Pat. "Who do you think?" Celina replied as she, Zach, and I stood up from the grass; picking up our newly caught Abra. "What!? How did you three do that so quick!?" he replied in shock. "You can thank her for that. She knew how to be sneaky when it came to Abra." she replied as she and Zach pointed their thumbs to me. I nodded my head to them and then looked at Ekans as it hissed at me and rattled its tail. I turned to Abra's Ball, gently threw it in the air, and made Abra appear in front of me. "Abra." it said. "Hey there, buddy. Sorry for interrupting your little fight with Ekans, but shall we finish this?" I replied. "Ab-ra." it replied as it nodded its head to me and turned back to Ekans; ready to fight. Ekans hissed and the lunged itself towards Abra. "Dodge it!" I said. "Ra!" Abra replied as it dodged Ekans's attack. "Use Confusion!" I replied. "Ra! Ab-ra!" Abra replied as it used Confusion on Ekans; damaging it. "A direct hit!" Pat replied. "It was super effective!" Sora replied. "Yep. Poison type Pokémon are weak against Psychic type Pokémon." Celina replied. "That means Tay has the advantage!" Pat replied.

Ekans hissed as it got back up and tried to use Bite on Abra, but watched it dodge the attack with ease. Ekans turned around and saw Abra behind it; shocking it. "Now use Swift!" I said. "Abra! Ab-ra!" Abra replied as it used Swift on Ekans; knocking it down. "Alright!" said Zach. "Now! PokéBall, go!" I replied as I threw a new PokéBall at Ekans. The ball touched Ekans and began the capture process. The ball shook three times and then confirmed the capture. "Ekans has been registered to your PokéDex." said my Phone. I picked up Ekans's ball and lightly smiled at it. "Abra!" said Abra. "Hm?" I replied curiously. Abra levitated to me, picked up Ekans's ball, and gently threw it in the air; making Ekans appear. "Ekans." it said. Abra then levitated to Ekans's side, and then the two Pokémon looked up at me. "Check it out. Ekans is all calm now." said Pat as he and the group walked upto me. "Ekans." Ekans replied happily. "Looks like its urge to hunt just stopped after she caught it." Celina replied.

Ekans nodded its head in agreement to Celina's response, and then it slithered upto me and gently wrapped itself around my left arm. "Ekans!" it said with a smile. I was surprised at first, but then I smiled back and gave it a gentle pat on the head. "Aww. That's adorable." said Zuzu. "Yeah. It likes her already." Pat replied. "So does Abra. Look. It's already wearing her hat." Zach replied as we watched my Abra used its psychic power to take my hat and wear it on its head. "Okay. That is cute. Now I wonder how many of Taylor's Pokémon are going to wear her hat?" Celina replied. "Who knows?" Zuzu replied. We all laughed happily together, and then continued our walk. A few minutes later, we finally arrived at Cerulean City. "Wow... it looks so pretty." said Sora. "Munch-lax..." Munchlax replied. "Come on. Let's go check it out." Zach replied. We nodded our heads in agreement, and stepped foot into Cerulean City.

Cerulean City- Pokémon Center

"Thank you very much for waiting. I'm happy to let you know that your Pokémon are fully healed and are ready to go." said Nurse Joy. "That's great. Thank you very much, Nurse Joy." I replied. "You're very welcome. Oh! Wait... are you the Taylor that helped stop the Fearow rampage near Viridian City?" she replied. "Yes?" I replied. "That is incredible! My sister that works in the Viridian City Pokémon Center told me all about you and your friends about how you all stop the Fearow's rampage. She said thanks to you and your friends, the Fearow that live in the area are now co-existing with the people and Pokémon near the city in peace." she replied. "That's amazing. I'm glad to hear the news." I replied. "Mhm. Oh! Before you go, someone delivered this package here for you." she replied as she handed me a package. "For me? Who is it from?" I replied. "It is from Mr. and Mrs. Sakaki. They put a letter inside the package to let you know what is inside." she replied. "Okay. I'll make sure to thank them." I replied. After that, I said my goodbyes to Nurse Joy, and went over to the Phone Area; seeing the group calling their families.

I sat down on the side chairs and looked down at the package in my arms. I wonder what is inside the package? Could it be something useful for the journey? Or something that I would never expect? Well... whatever is inside it, it must be very important from them. "Well, well... look who it is? If it isn't good old Taylor?" said a voice. My eyes quickly widened from the voice; making me look up and see for the person for the first time. "Sylvio!?" I said in shock. "My, my? You do remember me?" he replied. "Yeah... of course I do. How can I ever forget the one who bullied me and my friends constantly while we were in school?" I replied sternly. My Pokémon turned to me curiously; wondering what was going on. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Take it easy, Tay. I'm not here to chastise you." he said. "You know I'm not buying that, right? I know how bullies like you can manipulate their victims." I replied. His eyes lightly widened in shock; wondering what caused me to act this way towards him. "I guess that your here fro Contest preparations?" I asked. "Why, yes. I am. And what about you? What brings you here?" he replied. "Just exploring." I replied. "Ah... interesting." he replied. He then turned to my right and saw most of my Pokémon for the first time.

"So? These are all yours, huh?" he asked me. "Yeah." I replied. "And I see that you have a Charizard? Heh. I'm not surprised. You're really trying to copy your brother, aren't you? Geez. You really are just like what everyone says: nothing but your brother's shadow." he replied. After he said that, my eyes widened in anger and I snapped. I grabbed him and pinned him to the wall in anger; snarling in rage. He shrieked in fear as I pinned him to the wall; making my group turn to me and see what was happening. "Tay!" they said. They ran over to me and saw who I snapped at. "Sylvio!?" said Zuzu. "What's he doing here?" Sora replied. Sylvio stared at me in fear as he heard me snarl; seeing a dark side come out of me. "...Call me his shadow one more time... I dare you." I said in a dark, stern tone. His eyes widened in fear to my response, and then he saw my group for the first time; looking at us. "Tay. Let him go. Now." said Celina. I growled angrily and tightened my fist; ready to strike. "Tay. Let him go. It's not worth it. Whatever he said to you, don't let it go too far in your head." Zach replied.

I growled again and let him go. He stood back up, fixed his shirt, and watched the group gently pull me back. "Sylvio? What did you say to her?" Zach asked him. "And don't you lie your way out of it this time." Celina replied. "What? All I did was call her: her brother's shadow. What's wrong with that?" Sylvio replied. Most of the group's eyes widened in shock and anger to his response; now realizing how angry I felt. "Oh now you've done it." said Pat. "Done what?" Sylvio replied. "You have no idea what you just started. You mess with her like that, you're messing with us." Zuzu replied. "She's right. Just be lucky that she didn't give you a black eye right now. Trust me, we know that you want to keep that pretty face of yours in perfect condition." Celina replied. Sylvio was stunned by their words, turned to me, and saw the dark, intense glare in my eyes; scaring him inside. He then sighed and looked at me again. "Alright. Look. Taylor? I'm sorry for what I called you. I know that you don't want to forgive me, and you don't have too, but I want you to truly know that I apologize for what I said to you." he said.

I stared at him silently as he and the group looked at me; wondering what will I say or do. I blinked my eyes and nodded my head to him; making him breathe a sigh of relief. "Okay? This is weird? What changed you Sylvio?" Celina asked. "It was when Yuya and Zuzu beat me in Contests. I was very cocky at the beginning of my career, won a few Ribbons, and before getting my final Ribbons, both Yuya and Zuzu beat me with all their strength. After they won, they told me that this is what I get for bullying all of you. All the karma built up over the years from my words and actions for what I did to you made me face the consequences." Sylvio replied. "Really?" Zuzu replied as she crossed her arms. "Really. Anyways. I should get going to Vermilion City. I need to get myself prepared for the big Contest. I will see you there soon, Zuzu. Hopefully that Vulpix of yours won't outshine me." he replied. He then walked away from us and left the Center.

After he left, the group turned to me and saw the anger still in my eyes. "I still don't trust him." I said. "Same. I could tell that he was lying." Celina replied. "Huh? Are you two serious?" Sora replied curiously. "Mhm. Tay and Celina can tell how a person is lying." Zach replied. Sora looked at us all confused for a moment, and then saw me and Celina nod our heads to him; confirming what Zach said is true. We then turned to Zuzu as she looked down at her Vulpix as she growled at the entrance of the Center. "Looks like Vulpix is mad about what Sylvio said about her." said Pat. "Mhm. But we know that we will outshine him, right Vulpix?" Zuzu replied. "Vul!" Vulpix replied. She lightly smiled at her, and picked her up in her arms, and then turned to me; seeing the package in my arms. "Tay? What is that?" she asked me.

"This? Just a package someone delivered for me." I replied. "Who's it from?" Pat replied. "My Mom." I replied. "Ah." he replied. After that, we left the Center and went to the Cerulean City Hotel and went to our room. As we walked to the hotel, Sylvio was watching us from afar. He then began to remember the encounter with me and how I pinned him to the wall with brute strength. "What happened to you, Taylor? I have never seen you act like that towards me and my friends for years... is this all your anger that built up inside you? Whatever it is... it's something that I have never seen before... and I want to find out more about it." he said to himself.

Cerulean City Hotel

"Finally. Time to kick back and relax. My feet are sore from walking all day today." said Pat as he sat down on the sofa and gently kicked his feet up on the coffee-table. "Same here. Though... I wonder what makes Cerulean City different from Pewter City?" Sora replied. "Well... there is the Aquarium." Pat replied. "The Aquarium?" Sora replied curiously. "Yeah. It's home to some of the Water type Pokémon that you can find all over the world." Pat replied. "Really? Wow... maybe they might have a rare Water type Pokémon that no one has ever seen before?" Sora replied. "Mhm." Pat replied. "What are you talking about?" said a voice. They turned to the hallway and saw Zach, Zuzu, and Celina walk upto them. "Oh. Hey guys. We were just talking about the Aquarium." Pat told them. "The Aquarium? I haven't been there in a long time." Zuzu replied. "Really?" Sora replied. Zuzu nodded her head yes to his response. "Well, maybe we should go there! Can we guys? Please?" Sora replied. "Well... I guess a little trip there wouldn't hurt?" Zach replied. "Alright!" Sora replied happily. "Wait... where's Tay? Wasn't she with you guys?" Pat replied.

"She's at the Nugget Bridge. She told us that she wanted to be alone for a bit after what happened with Sylvio." Zuzu replied. "Man... I guess that comment Sylvio made about her really made her upset?" Pat replied. "Yeah..." Zuzu replied. She turned to Zach and noticed a sad and worried look in his eyes. She blinked her eyes and turned to Celina as she looked at Zach as well; wondering what's on his mind. A few seconds later, Zach walked away from the group and went to the patio to look out to the city with his team; hoping that I am okay. He then turned over to Nugget Bridge and saw my Onix from there. He sadly blinked his eyes and then clutched his fist in frustration. "Sylvio... I'll make you pay for hurting her like this." he said. "Wartortle." Wartortle replied. "Drill." Zach's Beedrill replied. Zach turned to his team and saw the determination in their eyes; seeing that they understand how he is feeling. He then nodded his head to them silently, and looked back out to the bridge with them again.

Nugget Bridge

I stood on the bridge in silence; looking down at the water as its current was moving slowly. As I looked down, I kept on hearing Sylvio calling me my brother's shadow in my head. I gripped my hands on the rail in frustration and clutched it tightly; trying to make the comment go away in my head. My team tried their best to comfort me as they saw me upset and frustrated after what had happened. After a few minutes, I loosen my grip on the rail and let my hands go from it. I looked at it silently to make sure that I didn't leave a dent or anything on it, and then turned to my team as they looked at me. "Pi-ka-chu..." said Tetrax in a sad tone. "...No... I'm not okay. I let his comment go over my head. That's something I never should've done. I thought I was stronger that this when it came to his words and comments... but I guess my mind and heart said I can't take it anymore. I'm sorry that you all had to witness that. It was completely out of character for me to do something like that. I promise you that I will never let his words and comments get to me like that ever again." I replied.

My team nodded their heads in understanding, gave me one last hug, and then we looked back down at the water; seeing some Pokémon swimming for the first time. The Pokémon swam happily and then jumped out of the water; revealing themselves for the first time. "Goldeen." said one of the Pokémon. "Seaking." another Pokémon replied. "A Goldeen and Seaking?" I replied. I took out my Phone and activated my PokéDex. "Goldeen, the Goldfish Pokémon. A Water type. When the weather warms up, Goldeen form schools and swim upriver. Some say this is a sign that spring has arrived. Seaking, the Goldfish Pokémon. A Water type, and the evolved form of Goldeen. It makes its nest by hollowing out boulders in streams with its horn. The Pokémon defends its eggs with its life." said my PokéDex. "Goldeen, Goldeen." Goldeen replied. "Seaking, Sea-king." Seaking replied. They splashed back down to the water and then swam away. "Wow. I gotta admit... they do have pretty colors." I said. "Pika-chu." Tetrax replied. "Clef." Clefable replied.

We then turned to the grass and saw another Pokémon appear. It stood by the edge of the water and held its head in its hands. "Psy-y-y-y-y-y." it said. "What the? Who is that?" I replied as I pointed my Phone's camera at it. "Psyduck, the Duck Pokémon. A Water type. This Pokémon is troubled by constant headaches. The more pain it's in, the more powerful its psychokinesis becomes." said my PokéDex. "Psy-y-y-y-y-y." Psyduck replied. It then jumped in the water and began to swim by itself. "Yeah... I know how those headaches feel." I said. "They feel like what, kiddo?" replied a voice.

My eyes widened in shock for a second, and I turned to my right; seeing a woman with orange hair standing in front of me for the first time. "Misty!" I said in a surprised, happy tone. "Hi, Taylor!" she replied. We hugged each other happily for a moment, and let each other go. "Look at you. You used to be this small, but now you've grown up and are on your journey. And you look beautiful, sweetheart." she said. "Aww, thanks." I replied with a blush formed on my face. She smiled happily and then saw all of my Pokémon for the first time. "Wait a second... I recognize three of them. Tay? Did your Pichu, Riolu, and Charmander evolve?" she asked. "Yep. They sure did. Tetrax, Aurasoul, Dragonfire, look. It's Misty. Do you remember her?" I replied. "Pika-pi!" Tetrax replied happily. Dragonfire and Aurasoul made happy sounds too, and the three of them reunited with Misty.

After their reunion, they looked at the rest of my team as they looked at us. "Wow. You've got an interesting variety of Pokémon here, huh?" she said. "Yep. Sure do." I replied with a smile. All of my Pokémon walked upto Misty and greeted her happily. "Aww. Aren't you guys the cutest things. Taylor must be really taking care of all of you with a lot of love." she said. All my Pokémon made happy sounds to her and nodded their heads to her; making us smile. After that, we left the Nugget Bridge and began to walk around the city together.

Cerulean City

"So what's new, girl? How's your journey been so far?" she asked me. "It's been good. I've been traveling with my friends from my hometown and traveled through Viridian City, Viridian Forest, Pewter City, and Mt. Moon together." I replied. "That's awesome. Where are your friends?" she replied. "They're at the hotel resting up their legs. We've been walking around pretty much all day today." I replied. "I see. Everybody needs their rest, especially after walking over the recommended 10,000 steps a day." she replied. "That's true." I replied. "Taylor!" yelled a voice. We turned around curiously and saw Zach and the group run upto us. "Hey, guys." I said as they stopped in their tracks. "You okay? You're not mad anymore?" Zach asked me. "Yeah. I'm okay. I just needed to let out some steam." I replied. "What steam? What happened? Did someone hurt your feelings?" Misty replied curiously. "Yeah. But it's all good now. When I see him again, I'll battle him and teach him a lesson." I replied. "Heh. That's the spirit!" she replied happily. I smiled happily at her, and then turned to Zuzu and Celina; seeing them looking at Misty in shock.

"I guess you two who she is?" I asked them. "Uh... yeah. She's the Gym Leader of Cerulean City!" Celina replied. "And one of the hosts of the Cerulean Aquarium Water Show!" Zuzu replied. The boys looked at them in shock of what they have said, then Misty showed a smile at them. "Misty. These are my friends: Zuzu, Celina, Zach, Pat, and Sora." I replied. "Hello." Sora replied. "It's nice to meet you, Misty." Pat replied. "It's to meet you all too. Have you all been having a good time here in the city?" Misty replied. "Mhm. We sure have. The sights are beautiful around here. I can tell how many people appreciate the studies of Water-type Pokémon and see them thrive all around the city." Zach replied. "That's great to hear. It makes me happy to hear a compliment like that about my city." Misty replied. We smiled happily at each other for a moment, and then turned to Zuzu and Celina; seeing the looks of admiration in their eyes. "I guess they really like the Water Show..." said Sora. "Yeah. It's one of the greatest shows that we have ever seen!" Zuzu replied.

"Oh wow. I never knew that we had some fans of the show come to town. That's amazing." said Misty. "Thank you, Misty." both Zuzu and Celina replied. "Tell you what? If you're all free for the day, how about you come to the Aquarium and me and my sister's will give you guys a special tour of the show and treat you to lunch?" Misty replied. "Really!? That sounds incredible!" Zuzu replied. "Right! What do you say, Zuzu? You in?" Celina replied. "You bet I'm in! What about you guys? You in?" Zuzu replied. "Yeah!" Sora replied. "Sure!" Pat replied. "I'm in!" Zach replied. "That's great!" Misty replied happily. After that, we left the area and went to the Aquarium.

Cerulean Aquarium

"Misty! You made it right on time!" said a lady with blonde hair. "Sorry for the delay, Daisy. I was meeting up with an old friend. Everyone, these are my sisters: Daisy, Violet, and Lily." Misty replied. "Hello." Sora replied. "Nice to meet all of you." Violet replied. "Nice to meet you too." Daisy replied. "Likewise." I replied. "Anyways, I offered to give these kids a tour of the building and the show. Thought it would be a good experience for them to learn a lot about Water type Pokémon." Misty replied. "That's great. As long as they follow the rules of the building, they should be fine." Lily replied. "I'm sure they will. Right, guys?" Misty replied. "We will." we replied. "Alright. Let's go." Misty replied. We started to walk inside and then Daisy lightly grabbed my shoulder; making me turn to her curiously. "Huh? Daisy? What are you doing?" Misty asked. "Misty... is this the girl you used to talk about years ago?" Daisy replied; shocking us. "Yeah? That's her. Why are you bringing it up now?" Misty replied.

"I just want to know if she was the girl that you gave swimming lessons to and had tea parties with Erika and Sabrina a few years ago? That's all." Daisy replied. "What!?" my group replied in shock. My eyes widened in shock and then I lowered my head sheepishly in embarrassment. "Tay..? Do you have something to tell us?" Celina asked me. I turned away from her and Tetrax used his tail to hide my flustered face. "I don't think you will get the answer, but the way she got all embarrassed just confirms it all to be true." Daisy replied. She gently patted my shoulder and moved her hand off of it. "I'm sorry, Taylor. I didn't mean to embarrass you like that." she said. "...It's okay. I was just... surprised that you remember me from those events." I replied. She then gave me a gentle pat on the back, and then we went inside the Aquarium. As we walked inside, we saw many families and groups of little kids on field trips looking at the Pokémon swimming in the water inside the giant glass tanks.

I looked at one of the tanks and saw a school of Goldeen and Seaking swimming around happily together; spinning around and eating food from above the water. I lightly smiled at them as we walked and then saw something glowing red in the tank. "What the?" I said. "Hm? What's up?" Zach asked me. "Did you see that?" I replied. "See what?" he replied as the others turned to us. "That red light?" I replied. "What red light?" he replied. After he said that, the red light glew again. "There! Right there, laying on the sand!" I said. "Oh! Now I see it. But... what is it? Is it a Pokémon?" he replied. "It sure is, Zach. It's a Pokémon called Staryu." Misty replied. "Staryu?" Zach replied as he took out his Phone and activated his PokéDex. "Staryu, the Star Shape Pokémon. A Water type. Staryu's center section has an organ called the core that shines bright red. If you go to a beach toward the end of summer, the glowing cores of these Pokémon look like the stars in the sky." said Zach's PokéDex. "Wow... that's cool. I wonder with that core on its body came from outer space?" Zach replied. "Maybe? If that is true, we would know about it from the Pewter City Museum." I replied.

"Speaking of the Museum... did you two know?" Misty replied. "Know what?" Zach replied. "It was on the news a couple days ago. The newest exhibit that was there apparently got stolen." she replied. "What!?" the group replied. "Stolen!? How did it get stolen?" Pat replied. "According to the police, a group of thieves were found tied up by their truck and they said they saw a powerful Trainer use it in battle. Apparently that thing they displayed there wasn't just an item... they believe that thing was actually a Pokémon." Violet replied. "A Pokémon!?" the group replied. My eyes widened in shock; now knowing that the whole region might know of Necrozma no longer being displayed at the Museum. I turned away and looked at Tetrax and Aurasoul as they looked at me in shock. We silently gulped in fear; hoping now someone doesn't recognize us from the news. "Tay? You alright?" Celina asked me. I flinched in shock for a second, and then turned around to the group. "Yeah... I'm alright." I replied. "You sure?" she replied. "Positive." I replied. "Okay..?" she replied. After that, we continued with the tour.

As we looked around, we saw more Staryu laying down in the tank alongside with some new Pokémon. "Misty? Who's that Pokémon next to Staryu?" Sora asked. "Oh? Those ones over there? Those are Starmie. They are the evolved form of Staryu. Staryu evolve into Starmie by using a Water Stone. See the core that is on Starmie's body? According to some researchers, they believe that the energy from their core sends mysterious signals up to the sky; making them theorize that Starmie come from outer space." Misty replied. "Whoa..." we replied. "I wonder if the people who work with astronauts use Starmie to find life in outer space?" Zach replied. "Maybe they do, but don't want to tell us." Misty replied. After looking at the Starmie, we saw a pod of Tentacool swim by with a Tentacruel above the Staryu and Starmie. We moved onto the next tank and saw a group of Poliwag and Poliwhirl swim together for a moment, and then swim upto us. They happily danced and waved at us; making us smile and wave back.

"Poliwag and Poliwhirl! They look so cool!" said Sora. "So do Tentacool and Tentacruel. Who knows how many Water type Pokémon out there in all of the lakes, ponds, rivers, and sea?" Celina replied. "They're are many kinds of Water type Pokémon out there in the world. Even on land as well." Daisy replied. "Believe it or not, Water type is the most common type of Pokémon that you can find all over the world; next to the Flying type." Violet replied. "Really?" Pat replied. "Yep." Lilly replied. "Wow! That's amazing!" Pat replied. We nodded our heads in agreement to his response. "But... it does make me wonder. What is the rarest type of Pokémon out there?" he said. "That would be the Ice type." Misty replied. "Ice type? They're really that rare?" he replied. "Mhm." she replied. "She's right. You can find Ice type in cold, snowy areas in every region. If they ever stepped foot in an area where it's too hot for them... they're won't last long." Zach replied.

We nodded our heads in agreement to his response and continued on with the tour. As we walked, we saw a video being played about a Pokémon that had different colors all over its scales. "Whoa... wait a second... is that... a Magikarp?" said Zuzu. "Yep. It sure is." Misty replied. "Magikarp, huh?" Pat replied as he pulled out his Phone and activated his PokéDex. "Magikarp, the Fish Pokémon. A Water type. With neither strength nor speed, Magikarp is thought to be the weakest Pokémon of all, but they're actually a hardy Pokémon that can survive in water no matter how dirty it is. According to professional fishers and enthusiasts, Magikarp come in 31 unique pattern varieties, with their scales coming in colors such as gray, black, white, purple, pink, violet, apricot, and brown." said Pat's PokéDex. "What!? 31 different patterns!? I always thought all Magikarp had red scales?" Pat replied. "Well according to your PokéDex, that doesn't seem to be the case." Misty replied. "Yeah... I guess there is a lot more to Pokémon than I thought I knew." Pat replied. "Yeah." Zach, Zuzu, Celina, and Sora replied.

After watching the video, we went to the Water Show stage and saw Swimmers practicing for the first time with their Pokémon. "And here we are. The famous Cerulean Water Show stage." said Daisy. "Whoa..." said Pat, Zach, and Sora. "Wow... it looks amazing!" Zuzu replied. "Yeah!" Celina replied. I lightly smiled at their reactions and turned to the stage; seeing something splash out of the water. "Karp!" it said. My eyes widened in shock as I stared at it; seeing the black scales on its body and pale-yellow barbels on its face. "...It's you..." I said in a soft, surprised tone. "Huh? Tay? What are you talking about?" Zach replied curiously. Misty, Daisy, Violet, and Lily smiled at me; knowing now that I recognize the Pokémon in the giant pool. Misty then gave me a gentle push towards the pool. I turned to her and saw a warm smile on her face. "Go on, Taylor. He's been waiting for you." she said. I smiled at her, nodded my head, and ran to the pool. I jumped up on the stage and saw the Pokémon swimming in the pool again. "Hey! Tsunami! Over here!" I said. "Pi-ka-chu!" Tetrax replied.

"Karp?" Magikarp replied. He turned around, swam upto the surface, and saw me, Tetrax, and Aurasoul looking at him. "Ma-gi-karp? Karp! Magi-karp!" he said happily. He jumped out of the water and landed in my arms happily; making me and Tetrax fall to the floor. "Karp-Karp! Magi-karp!" he said. I laughed happily for a moment and then gently put him back in the water. "I've missed you too, buddy. It's been so long since I've last seen you. How you've been? Has Misty been taking good care of you?" I said. "Karp! Karp-Magi-karp!" he replied happily. He splashed again with joy and got both Tetrax and Aurasoul wet from the water. They shook off the water and then began to play with him. I smiled happily at them playing and then turned to the group as they all got up on the stage. "I guess that Magikarp knows you?" Celina asked me. "Mhm. He was rescued on the beach in Vermilion City by Misty and the people that work in the Aquarium a few years ago after a big tsunami. He was at first scared of people, but then one day during my swimming lessons, we met for the first time, and I helped him get back to perfect health by swimming and bonding with him." I replied.

"She's right. When we first rescued him off that beach and noticed his scale colors, we knew that we had to keep him here for research purposes to wonder how his scales were a different color from the other Magikarp. And when we let him join the swimming lessons, he had a instant connection with her. He saw her as the only kid that truly wanted to have a friendship with him. So everytime she came back for her lessons, Magikarp was always there; waiting for her." Misty replied. "Wow..." the group replied. "And because of him, we, Professor Oak, and the marine biologists in the Kanto region have been focusing our studies on Magikarp and see if its scales change color when they evolve into Gyarados." Lily replied. "Whoa..." the group replied in awe. "Hey, Zach? Maybe we should find our own Magikarp when we go fishing one day and get ourselves cool looking Gyarados!" Pat replied. "Yeah! That's a great idea!" Zach replied. "Can I join in on that idea too?" Sora replied. "Sure!" Pat replied. "Alright!" Sora replied happily.

The girls smiled at the boys and then turned back to me as I went back to Tetrax and Aurasoul as they played with Tsunami. As I watched them play, a Pokémon jumped out of the water and landed on the stage; turning to me. "Vaporeon!" it said. "It's a Vaporeon!" Celina replied. "Look, Vulpix! It's the famous Vaporeon of the show I told you about! Isn't it cute?" Zuzu replied as she and the others walked over to us. "Vul!" Vulpix replied. "Por-eon." Vaporeon replied. "Hey, Vaporeon. Remember me?" I replied. Vaporeon turned around, stared at me for a moment, smiled happily, and then walked over to me; rubbing its head on my knee. I smiled happily and gave Vaporeon a gentle pat on the head and back. "It knows her too!" said Pat. "I guess Taylor is pretty famous here with the Pokémon?" Zach replied with a smile. "She sure is. All of the Pokémon here have known her since she was little." Misty replied. Zach knelt down to his knee, took out his Phone, and activated his PokéDex. "Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokémon. A Water type. Vaporeon evolves from Eevee, a Normal type, into a form adapted for movement in the water. The cells of its body resemble water molecules, so it can hide itself in the water as if it had melted into it." said Zach's PokéDex.

Vaporeon then turned to the group and approached them slowly. "Hi, Vaporeon." said Zach as he slowly showed Vaporeon his hand. "Por?" Vaporeon replied curiously. It took a couple steps towards him, sniffed his hand, and then let him pet it. He smiled happily and continued to pet Vaporeon's head. "Misty? Is Vaporeon yours?" Celina asked as she and Zuzu turned to her. "Mhm. I've had Vaporeon ever since he was an Eevee." Misty replied. "Really? What was it like to raise him before he evolved?" Zuzu replied. "He was very energetic. He would run around the stage all day when we're not training, and then try to swim with the performer's Pokémon during rehearsals and the show itself. Once I saw how much he loved being in the water, I knew that I had to evolve him into Vaporeon. After a couple Gym battles, he and I traveled to Pewter City and bought a Water Stone. Once he touched it, he then evolved into Vaporeon. Ever since then, he's been a staple of the show and one of my strongest partners in battle." Misty replied.

The girls eyes widened in awe and then they looked down at Vulpix and Nidoran as they played with Vaporeon. "Hehe. I haven't seen you this lively in a while, Vaporeon." said Misty. "Vaporeon!" Vaporeon replied happily. He then ran upto his Trainer and jumped up in her arms; letting her hold him. They then turned to us and smiled happily. "Alright, everyone! Lunch break!" said one of the performance coaches. After that, we watched the performers and their Pokémon eat lunch together. We joined in for the lunch a few moments later and let our Pokémon eat and play together as we ate. Thirty minutes later, we finished lunch and called back our Pokémon; knowing that it's time to go. "Thank you for everything today, Misty." I said. "You're welcome, Tay. Hey, before you go... since you are taking the Gym challenge. How about we have our battle sometime this week?" Misty replied. "Sure!" I replied. "Great! The battle will be in three days time. That should give you time to decide who you will use for the battle." she replied. "Sounds good to me." I replied. We shook hands, showed confident smiles, and then let our hands go. "Karp?" said Tsunami as he swam upto the edge of the platform.

I turned to him and noticed a sad look on his face. "Yeah... we gotta go. But don't worry, I'll see you in the show tomorrow, okay? That's a promise." I said as I knelt down to him. "Karp!" he replied. I smiled warmly at him, gently pet his head, and then walked back to my group. "Don't be sad, Tsunami. Like she said, we'll see her tomorrow for the show. And it will be the first time that she will see you perform!" said Misty. "Magi-karp!" Tsunami replied happily; making us smile. After that, we received our reserve tickets for the show, said goodbye to Misty and her sister's, and left the Aquarium. As we left, a group of adults watched us leave, and then turned to the stage room; smirking with delight. "...Sir. the video footage of the Pokémon in the Aquarium has been sent to you." said one person. "Excellent. We will be arriving shortly with the device. Soon... we will have an army of Gyarados in our command that will help us get the Boss's missing Pokémon that lies deep in Cerulean Cave. No one will stand in our way. The world will cower when they see our revival. And if you see anyone try to stop you... eliminate them." replied someone on the communicator. "Yes, sir." the person replied.

Nugget Bridge

A couple hours had passed and we stood on the bridge; fishing for Pokémon to catch. Pat sighed in agony and sat down. "I'm bored. How long is fishing supposed to take?" he said. "It takes time and patience, Pat." Zach replied. "You know that I don't have any patience, Zach." Pat replied. "Oh, we know." Zach replied. Pat stood back up and picked up his fishing rod; hoping something would take the bait. "Like he said. Just be patient. You'll get a bite soon." said Celina. "I hope so..." Pat replied in agony. After he said that, both he and Celina's fishing rods slightly moved. "Hey! They got something!" said Sora. Celina and Pat began pulling their lines back and then pulled them out of the water; revealing two Pokémon. "Poli!" said one Pokémon. "Psy!" said the other Pokémon. "Whoa! It's a Poliwhirl and Psyduck!" Sora replied. "But who pulled in who?" Zach replied. "Celina pulled in Poliwhirl, and Pat pulled in Psyduck!" Sora replied. Poliwhirl and Psyduck stood on the bridge and stared down Pat's Bulbasaur and Celina's Nidoran. The two Trainers turned to each other, nodded their heads with smirks, and then turned to the two wild Pokémon; ready for battle.

"Okay, Nidoran! Use Venoshock on Poliwhirl!" said Celina. "Ran! Ni-do-ran!" Nidoran replied as she used the attack on Poliwhirl; pushing it back a little. "Poli! Po-li-whirl!" Poliwhirl replied as it fired Bubble Beam. "Dodge it!" Celina replied. "Nido!" Nidoran replied as she dodged the attack. Psyduck then stepped in and tried to use Confusion on both Nidoran and Bulbasaur. "I don't think so! Bulbasaur! Razor Leaf on both Psyduck and Poliwhirl!" Pat replied. "Bul! Bul-basaur!" Bulbasaur replied as it used Razor Leaf on both Psyduck and Poliwhirl; knocking them down. "Alright!" Sora cheered. "Now's your chance, you two!" Zach replied. "Right! PokéBall, go!" Pat and Celina replied as they threw their PokéBalls at the two Pokémon. They were hit by the PokéBalls and they began the capture process. They closed up, fell t o the ground, shook a few times, and then confirmed the captures. "Poliwhirl has been registered to your PokéDex." said Celina's Phone. "Psyduck has been registered to your PokéDex." said Pat's Phone. "Alright!" they replied happily as they high-fived each other. "Nice job, you two." Zuzu replied. "Thanks." they replied.

"Wait... I just realized something... Celina now has officially more than six Pokémon... that means it got sent to Professor Oak's Lab, right?" Sora replied. "True... but what if I told you it didn't?" Pat replied. "Huh?" the group replied curiously. He then grabbed his bag and revealed new Pokémon Box Links to us. "Whoa! It's the Box Link!" said Zuzu. "Yep. I made more of them. The day before Taylor's battle with Brock, I asked her to come with me to the electronic store and help me get the pieces I need to make more of the Box Links. After getting all the pieces I needed, we walked back to the hotel and uploaded your Trainer cards, data, and profiles to them; making sure that you guys can have all your Pokémon with you all the time just like Taylor does." Pat replied. "Aww, Pat! You're the best!" Zuzu replied. "Thank you, Zuzu." he replied happily. The group received their Box Links for the first time and put them in their bags safely. "We also talked to Professor Oak about the invention, and he said that it was the greatest thing he ever heard. To him and his assistants, this device will help him out on his research when they see our data update on how many Pokémon we catch and evolve." I replied.

"Really? My Grandpa said that?" Zach replied. "Mhm." I replied. "Wow... that's amazing. Plus... I think this will give him less stress at the Lab when it comes to research. Who knows how many of our Pokémon wouldn't like being at the Lab and with people and Pokémon they don't know?" he replied. "So with this device, it kinda makes us Researchers too?" Zuzu replied. "Yeah. And, if Professor Oak's Lab is filled with many other Trainer's Pokémon already... maybe we can make our own giant research area for all our Pokémon to be in together?" Celina replied. "Yeah! That would be amazing!" Sora replied. "I'm down for that! But... how would we make it?" Pat replied. They thought about it for a moment, and then turned to me. "Hey..." I said worriedly. "Don't worry. We're not asking you to do it now, Tay. We'll ask you when you have full control of your powers." Zach replied. "Besides, we know that you still have much to learn about them and your bloodline. So, we want you to take your time and break your mental barriers as you get used to them again." Celina replied. I breathed a sigh of relief to their words, and turned my hat backwards. "Thanks, guys." I said.

They nodded their heads, and then Zach's, Zuzu's, and Sora's fishing rods began to move and nearly fall off the bridge. "Oh no!" said Pat. "Grab 'em!" Zach replied. The three Trainers grabbed their rods and began pulling the lines towards them. They struggled a little bit, and it required me, Celina, and Pat to help them out. Celina was helping Zuzu, Pat was helping Sora, and I was helping Zach. "They have strong bites on the hooks." said Sora. "Yeah. How do we counter this?" Pat replied. "Just keep pulling." I replied. We pulled the fishing rods again for a minute, and then reeled in three Pokémon. The Pokémon landed on the bridge, and then one of them turned to us; while the other two were flopping. "Hey! Look at that, it's a Magikarp!" said Pat. "And it came from Zach's line!" Sora replied. "On my line!? Nice!" Zach replied happily. "Yeah! But... who are those two Pokémon?" Pat replied. "I'll check them out." Zach replied as he took out his Phone and activated his PokéDex. "Krabby, the River Crab Pokémon. A Water type. Krabby live on beaches, burrowed inside holes dug into the sand. On sandy beaches with little in the way of food, these Pokémon can be seen squabbling with each other over territory. Feebas, the Fish Pokémon. A Water type. While Feebas's body is in tatters, it has a hardy and tenacious life force that enables it to live anywhere. However, this Pokémon is also slow and dimwitted, making it an easy catch." said Zach's PokéDex.

"Fee-bas. Fee-bas-bas." Feebas replied. "Hold on... this Feebas is purple... not light brown..." Zach replied. "But what does that mean?" Pat replied. "Because it's Shiny." I replied. "What!?" they replied in shock. "Mhm. That's a Shiny Feebas." I replied. "But who reeled it in?" Sora replied. "I did." Zuzu replied. They looked at her in surprise and she nodded her head to them. Vulpix walked over to Feebas, pokes it with her paw, and sees Feebas prepare to attack. "Vul!" said Vulpix as she dodged Feebas's attack. "Vulpix! Stop it with Fire Spin!" said Zuzu. "Vulpix! Vul-pix!" Vulpix replied as she used Fire Spin to trap Feebas in place. "Bas!? Fee-bas!" said Feebas as it used an attack to extinguish the Fire Spin. "What!?" said Zuzu in shock. "Vul!?" Vulpix replied in shock. "That Feebas... it's using Whirlpool!" Celina replied. "Whirlpool?" Zuzu replied. "Mhm. Looks like Feebas is a fighter after all. Zuzu, tell your Pikachu to use Thunderbolt on the Whirlpool." Celina replied. "What!? Are you crazy!?" Zuzu replied. "No. I'm not. I learned this in science class. Water conducts electricity. If you let your Pikachu use Thunderbolt on the Whirlpool, it will stop Feebas and the Whirlpool." Celina replied.

She blinked her eyes and nodded her head in understanding. "Got it. Let's see if this works... Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt on the Whirlpool!" she said. "Pika! Pi-ka-chu!" Zuzu's Pikachu replied as she used Thunderbolt on the Whirlpool. "Fee-ee-ee-ee-ee-bas!" Feebas replied as it was zapped by the electricity swirling around the Whirlpool. The Whirlpool dropped and Feebas revealed itself again. "Alright!" the boys cheered. "Okay, Vulpix! Let's finish it off with Energy Ball!" Zuzu replied. "Vul! Vul-pix-Vul!" Vulpix replied as she formed a ball of green energy in front of her mouth and then fired it at Feebas; defeating it. "Now! PokéBall, go!" said Zuzu as she threw her PokéBall at Feebas. It touched Feebas at its side and began the capture process. The Ball closed, shook three times, and made a dinging sound; confirming the capture. "Feebas has been registered to your PokéDex." said Zuzu's Phone. She smiled happily and ran over to her Pokémon; hugging them happily. She then picked up Feebas's PokéBall, and raised it up in the air. "Alright! I caught a Feebas!" she cheered. "Pi-Pikachu!" Zuzu's Pikachu cheered. "Vul-Vulpix!" Vulpix cheered.

"Congrats, Zuzu." I said. "Thank you, Tay. If it wasn't for Celina's idea... I wouldn't stand a chance against that Whirlpool." she replied. "I knew you could do it, Zuzu." Celina replied as she gave her a thumbs up and a wink of her eye. "Thank you, Celina." she replied. We smiled at each other and then turned to the boys; seeing Sora catch Krabby and Zach catch Magikarp. "Krabby has been registered to your PokéDex." said Sora's Phone. "Magikarp has been registered to your PokéDex." said Zach's Phone. "Heh. What do you know? We all caught some Pokémon today." said Pat as he picked up his fishing rod. "Yeah. We sure did." Zach replied. They did a fist bump and turned to us. "And there is still plenty of Pokémon out there for us to find. So everyone, let's do our best on this journey together!" said Zach. "Yeah!" we replied happily. "Come on, let's head to the Pokémon Center and heal up our new friends." Celina replied. "Right." we replied. After that, we picked up our fishing rods, and began to walk to the Pokémon Center. As we walked, my Mark began to glow. "Huh?" I said to myself. I looked at it glow and then its Light made a trail that went to Cerulean Cave.

I stared at the cave entrance for a moment and then began to sense an incredible amount of power inside the cave. Necrozma spiritually appeared beside me and stared at the cave entrance too; wondering what the source of power is inside. "You sense it too?" I asked it in my thoughts. "Yes. This power is something that I am not familiar with. It feels like... it was created by humans..." Necrozma replied. My eyes widened in shock after it said that. I put my hand to my chest and felt the power from the cave connect with mine. "No way... could it really be..?" I said. "Really be who?" Necrozma replied curiously. "...Mewtwo..." I replied.

Inside Cerulean Cave

Mewtwo stood still in silence with its eyes closed; preserving its power for its next challenger. As it meditated, it began to sense an incredible power from outside the cave. It opened its eyes, reached its hand to the water, and used Psychic to find the power connecting with it. As its eyes glew light blue, it saw a green trail of energy connected with its aura. It's eyes widened in shock and stopped using Psychic. "...So you made it... you're in Cerulean City..." it said. It then used Psychic again to grab something from behind one of the glowing rocks and held it in its hand. It looked down at the item, a photo of me and my family, and smiled at it. "It really has been five years since I last saw you, huh? And you already earned your first ever Gym Badge? Hm. It really has been a long time since I last saw you in Giovanni's Lab. I know that your journey has only just begun, but... it's time I see how much you have grown since I last saw you. I want to see what this power of yours can do... future Guardian..." it said.

It put the photo back behind the rocks, lightly smiled, and then looked out to the waters of the cave in silence, and saw something swim towards it. It blinked its eyes and saw a group of four Trainers appear. It prepared itself for battle and saw the four Trainers up close. "Whoa... check it out... this must be the powerful Pokémon that the people in the city were talking about..." said one of the Trainers. Mewtwo stared at them in silence and then saw one of the Trainers walk out of the group; aiming a Ultra Ball at it. "And you are?" it said as it crossed its arms. "Me? I am Sylvio Sawatari. The strongest Trainer and Coordinator that you will ever face. Once I defeat you and catch you, I will be the strongest Trainer in the world! Stronger even than the Champion and his shadow of a sister." Sylvio replied. Mewtwo's eyes widened in shock to what he had said and then made its eyes glow light blue in anger. "Uh oh... I think you made it mad, Sylvio..." said one of Sylvio's friends. "That's fine. As long as we see its true strength, it will make catching it even more worth it. Now come, Tyranitar!" Sylvio replied as he threw the Ultra Ball in the air. It opened and Tyranitar appeared on the battlefield; letting off a sparkle as it landed on the ground and roared at Mewtwo.

Mewtwo stared at them for a moment and then saw Sylvio's friends send out their Pokémon. "Go, Arcanine!" said the first friend. "Get 'em, Dodrio!" the second friend replied. "Unleash your power, Gengar!" the third friend replied. The three Pokémon appeared and let out their battle cries; standing alongside Sylvio's Shiny Tyranitar. "You dare enter my home unannounced? And you speak harshly of the humans that I know? Very well... let us see how you fare against the strongest Pokémon in the world! Come at me with all your strength! I will show you what happens when you talk harshly of others." said Mewtwo. They were surprised of what it had said, and then smirked confidently at it. After that, the battle had begun.

Inside the Cerulean Aquarium- 3 hours later

Tsunami swam happily with the other Magikarp in the tank that it shared with and ate some food that the workers gave him. After his meal, he swam to his resting area with the other Magikarp and began to nap with his friends. As he napped, Misty and her sisters looked at them with a smile for a moment, said goodbye to the workers, and they left the area; ready to relax for the day. A few moments after they left, the area was in complete silence. No human or Pokémon was making a noise. The lights were dimmed and the water was flowing smoothly in the tank. But... this peace and quiet wouldn't last for long. During their slumber, the doors silently opened, and the sound of footsteps came into the room alongside the screeching wheels of a kart. "Karp?" said Tsunami tiredly. He shook his head and quietly swam upto the glass of the tank; seeing the group of people and a machine for the first time.

"Alright, Grunts, listen up. Inside this tank is filled with Magikarp. And I know what you are going to say... they are the weakest Pokémon in the world and all they do is just splash around everywhere... but you are wrong... as you can see on that picture over there, Magikarp into a powerful Pokémon called Gyarados. These creatures are known to be the most violent Pokémon in the world. They can wipe out an entire village with just one Hyper Beam. That is something that the Boss would want to use against his enemies, correct?" said the leader of the group. "Yes, sir!" the mysterious group replied. The leader smirked and then walked over to the cart, and took off the cover; showing something to the group. Tsunami quietly swam behind a rock and saw the device too; wondering what it was as well. "Now. I bet you are wondering... how do we evolve these Magikarp into Gyarados without training it? Hehe. Never fear, because I, the great Petrel, have worked alongside Archer, and our brilliant scientists to create this beauty! Behold! I introduce to you all to: the Evolution Frequency Wave Remote! With this device, it will send a frequency wave inside the tank through the speakers, make the Magikarp shriek in pain and fear for a moment, and then evolve them into Gyarados. Once they evolve, that is when you fire the control darts from your tranquilizers at them, and they will be under our control! Once we have them in our possession, we'll make them take us to Cerulean Cave and destroy it with brute force!" Petrel replied.

"But, sir... is the Boss's missing Pokémon rumored to be living inside that cave?" one of the grunts replied. "Yes. The rumors are true. Mewtwo is living inside that cave... thanks to the footage that Sylvio boy and his friends showed us. Even though they lost to that creature... it shows us how much it has improved of its strength. But we can't let anyone control that creature other than the boss himself. If it wasn't for his idea to convince Dr. Fuji, Blaine, and that one Scientist that sold us out... Mewtwo would've never existed." Petrel replied. "Right. But who exactly made Mewtwo, sir? Was it really Dr. Fuji?" a female grunt replied. "No... it was that one Scientist with the child that we experimented on five years ago. He's the one who perfected gene splicing and experimentation. Blaine and Fuji helped him out with the Mew research in order to create Mewtwo. Now. Back to business. Let's get this baby working and have ourselves a capture party!" Petrel replied.

Tsunami stared at the device in shock and horror, and then turned to his friends in the tank; knowing now the device will affect them. He then quickly swam away to the back of the the tank and found a hidden escape route. He stared at the rocks slightly blocking it and then used Dragon Rage to destroy the rocks. All the other Magikarp woke up to Tsunami's attack; wondering what just happened. They swam to the end of their sleeping area and watched him swim away in the escape route. They looked at each other for a second and then turned back around; seeing Petrel and his grunts aim the device at them. "Karp!?" they said in shock. "Alright, team! Activate the device!" said Petrel. "Yes, sir!" the grunts replied. They turned on the device, and the Magikarp began to scream in pain. "Karp!" they cried as the sound of the device came through the speakers above the tank and from the glass. "It's working!" one of the Team Rocket grunts replied. "Heh. Just like I said it would. Now crank it up. Once they hear a certain pitch from the device, that will trigger them to evolve." Petrel replied. "Yes, sir." the grunt replied.

The device was cranked up a couple notches and the Magikarp began to scream more from the soundwaves vibrating the water of the tank. "Karp! Magi-karp!" they cried again. They then swam upto the glass and tried to break it to stop the sound, but failed. The grunts watched them carefully for a moment, and then turned to Petrel as he watched them too. "We're almost there. Crank it up one more time!" he said. "Yes, sir." a few grunts replied. They cranked up the device again, hear the Magikarp scream in pain for a moment, and then saw their bodies begin to glow. "What the? Is this it?" said one grunt. "Yes. They are evolving. Everyone, aim your control dart weapons at them! Once they become Gyarados, fire the darts and they'll be under our control!" Petrel replied. "Yes, sir!" the grunts replied. The grunts aimed their weapons as they watch the Magikarp evolve into Gyarados. Their roars broke through the glass and their sheer sizes broke down the entire tank and walls of the room; setting off the alarms of the building.

The grunts freaked out at the sound of the alarm, fire the darts, and miss their targets completely; angering Petrel. "You idiots! They are right there! Big and tall as they can be! How!? How did you all flinch from a simple security alarm!?" he yelled. After he said that, the newly evolved Gyarados began to growl viciously at them; scaring the grunts even more. "Now what?" said Petrel as he turned around; seeing the violent look in the eyes of Gyarados as they growl and snarl at him. His eyes slowly widened in fear as he saw the looks, and they let out powerful roars at him and the grunts; scaring them to the core. They then lifted up their heads and used Hyper Beam to destroy the roof and walls nearby. They then leapt to the waters of the city and began to swim away from the building. They roared loudly again and began their swim of destruction; using Hyper Beam at the rocky hills near the city, destroying and setting a flame to everything in sight. "Holy shit..." said one of the grunts in shock and fear. "What do we do now, sir?" another grunt replied. "We retreat. If we stay here and try to catch the Gyarados while the cops are around and see our uniforms, they'll arrest us immediately. Come on, everyone. Get moving." Petrel replied. "Yes, sir." the grunts replied.

They all then left the building and began their retreat. As they ran, they left their symbols and weapons behind without even thinking of picking them up and retrieving them. A moment later, Misty entered the room with her sisters and the police; seeing the damage for the first time. "Who could've done this?" Violet asked as they looked around the room. "I think I know." Misty replied as she knelt down and picked up one of the lone weapons and saw the symbol on it. "Team Rocket!?" Violet, Daisy, and Lily replied in shock. "Misty? We'll take it all from here. We need you to help the people of the city evacuate. Who knows how many lives have been lost by now to those Gyarados?" said Officer Jenny. "Right." Misty replied. She turned to the broken wall, leapt out to the grass, threw up a Dive Ball in the air, and saw her Pokémon, Blastoise, appear in front of her. "Blastoise." it said. "Blastoise. I need your help to stop those Gyarados. We need to get to the city fast, and help out the people as they evacuate." Misty replied. "Blast. Blastoise." Blastoise replied as it nodded its head in understanding. Misty nodded her head, jumped onto Blastoise's back, and they quickly dashed through the water; heading to the city.

Center of Cerulean City

The screams of fear echoed through the area as many people and Pokémon ran away from their homes. As they ran, the Gyarados appeared and roared out to the sky; unleashing their Hyper Beams and Flamethrowers at every direction. As they swam towards the city, me and my group ran to the center of the city and began to see what was going on. "What the hell? What's going on here?" said Celina. "I don't know? But it doesn't sound good..." Sora replied. After he said that, we heard the roars of the Gyarados for the first time. We turned to the Nugget Bridge, and saw the Gyarados for the first time attacking the city. Our eyes widened in shock to the sight of them and the destruction they were causing. "Holy shit..." said Zach. "So the stories of wild Gyarados are true... they are the bringers of destruction..." Pat replied. Zuzu, Celina, and Sora held onto each other in fear of what we were seeing. As the roars and attacks continued, I took off my hat, jacket, bag, and glove. I used my powers to hide them somewhere safe for now and looked up at the Gyarados; ready to fight.

I clutched my fists tight as the Gyarados came closer and used Hyper Beam; aiming for the city. My eyes and Mark quickly glew green and I made a giant Light Screen shield around the buildings of the city; protecting it and everyone from the attacks. The beams held strong for a moment, and then bounced off the shield and hit the Gyarados; sending them back to the water. As they fell, the crowds of people and Pokémon began to cheer at the sight of them falling down from their attacks. My group looked around at the people, Pokémon, and the shield for the first time. They then turned to me as I kept the shield up; waiting for the next attack. I put my hands down and watched our foes with my glowing eyes as they slowly began to get back up. "They're not done yet. They still got plenty of power left in them." I said. "What? Tay? What are you talking about? Have you battled a Gyarados before?" Pat replied. "Yeah. A long time ago, but I've never seen one of them start something like this. This isn't natural. This looks like a man-made problem that did this." I replied as I turned to him and the group.

"Tay..? Are you saying that someone forced a group of Magikarp to evolve into Gyarados and it went wrong?" Zach replied. I nodded my head yes to his question. "How do you know? Did you like hear them or something?" Zuzu asked. "Yeah. When they went down from the reflected attack, I could hear their voices. They said that a group of people forced them to evolve in the Aquarium by a sound device." I replied. "She's right." a voice replied. Our eyes widened in shock to the voice, and we turned around seeing four boys in hooded cloaks walk upto us. "Your friend is right about what she said. These Gyarados attacking the city were forced to evolve by a sound device." the leader replied. "Right..? And... you four are?" Zach replied sternly and curiously. "Relax. We're on your side." the leader replied. "And how can you prove that?" Celina replied. The leader sighed, lifted up his left hand, and revealed the same exact Mark I have on it, and made it glow a golden-yellow light. "What!? He has the same Mark as Tay does!?" said Pat in a soft, shocked tone. My eyes widened in shock too, and I lifted my right hand; showing my Mark as it glew green.

"Taylor... we finally meet." said the leader. "Yeah... we finally meet... but... your voice... why I do I feel like I know you from it?" I replied. "Don't worry about it. Right now, we gotta stop these rampaging Gyarados before they destroy your shield and everything in sight." the leader replied. "What!?" my group replied in shock. "Hold on a second. You two literally just met and you are asking for her help in this big life or death situation!?" Zach replied. "Yes. It is our duty as Guardians to protect humans and Pokémon from destruction like this. We were born to bring peace and prosperity, not destruction and mayhem." the leader replied. "True... but you have the same powers as her. You could handle this on your own, right?" Zach replied. "I could've, but I want her to help me in this fight. I want to see what she can do with her Guardian powers, and want to know if she has what it takes to step up to the Guardian legacy." the leader replied.

I was surprised of what he had said for a moment, crossed my arms, and began to think about his team up idea. "No way... is she really going to go with it?" said Sora as he, the group, and the four cloaked boys looked at me. "I think so? Especially if he wants to see what she can do." Zuzu replied. They then stared at me in silence for a moment, and then I walked upto the cloaked leader and extended my hand to him. "I guess this means that you accepts my request?" he asked me. "...I do." I replied. We then shook hands, and then turned to our groups as they looked at us. "Tay? You sure about this?" Zach asked me. "I'm sure. He and I are truly the only ones who can stop them. It's gonna take more than one Electric-type attack to stop them. And it will help you guys and his team get everyone to safety." I replied. "Yeah... but... what if you get seriously injured..?" he replied. "That won't happen. I'll keep my eyes on her. She'll be safe with me. You have my word, Zach." the leader replied. Zach blinked his eyes, walked upto the leader, and gave him a gentle pat on his shoulder. "I'm counting on you. Don't let her leave your sight." he said.

The leader nodded his head and gave Zach a gentle pat on his shoulder. Zach then turned over to me and gave me a hug. "Go get 'em, Tay. I believe in you." he said. "I will. And I'll come back in one piece. I promise." I replied. We let each other go, and we did a fist bump. We smiled warmly at each other, and then turned to my team as they looked at us. "You guys ready?" I asked them. They nodded their heads yes to my question, and then we left with the cloaked leader. As we left, Zach and the group went with the cloaked leader's allies and began to help the citizens get to safety.

Outside the Shield

We stepped out onto Nugget Bridge, jumped upto the outer part of Cerulean Cave, and looked out to the Aquarium, seeing the Gyarados start to come closer to the city. As we looked at them, I started to worry about Tsunami. Was he in this group too when the incident happened? Or did he find a way to escape before it happened and somehow went missing? Wherever he is... I just hope that he is okay and safe somewhere. "Taylor? You alright?" the cloaked leader asked me. I blinked my eyes and turned to him, and he saw the worried look in my eyes for the first time. "You worried about someone?" he asked. "Yeah. I'm worried about a friend. I'm just hoping he's not a part of this." I replied. "I'm sure he's not part of this. I bet your friend had escaped the conflict before it truly started." he replied. "Yeah..." I replied as I turned away from him. He walked over to me, stayed in my line of sight, and put his hands on my shoulders; making me focus on him.

"But now is not the time to worry. You can't let your emotions fully take over you in battle. Most of the time, your emotions betray you on the battlefield. Some other times, they are your ally. You need to focus on the enemy and how quickly you can stop them. If you let your emotions take over your mind, it will distract you and cause more trouble than you think." he said. My eyes lightly widened in shock to his words, and it started to make me think back to the kidnapping and how I lost control of myself when trying to take down Giovanni. After the flashbacks ended, I shook my head, and looked at the cloaked leader. "Taylor? Do you understand what I just said?" he said as he let my shoulders go. "...Yeah... I understand what you're saying. After you said it, it just made me have flashbacks of something that happened to me a long time ago." I replied. "A long time ago..? What happened? If you don't mind me asking..." he replied.

"I was kidnapped by Team Rocket. They found out from my Dad about my powers, and they kidnapped me to see what they could do. I was used as an experiment for the whole day until I lost control of myself, and was clouded by anger. I broke free from their medicines and machines and tried to take down their leader, Giovanni, but was nearly ambushed by his henchmen. He escaped from me, and I tried to go after him, but I was stopped by a man-made Pokémon that was created by Team Rocket scientists many years ago. It found out about me somehow, and took me back home with the Legendary Birds. Ever since that day, I've been creating all kinds of mental blocks in order to keep my powers at bay. I even swore to myself that I would never use them again... but ever since I started my Pokémon journey... I've been slowly starting to use my powers again." I replied. "And you're afraid if you break down these mental blocks, you'll lose control again?" he replied. I nodded my head yes to his question.

"Taylor? I want you to think about this for a moment. Have you ever thought that ever since that day... you are more afraid of yourself than your powers?" he replied. "Huh?" I replied curiously. "Think about it. Did you seriously hurt people when you broke out of Team Rocket's Lab because you lost control of yourself?" he replied. "I... I don't think so? It never came across my mind..." I replied. "And that was because you let your anger control your mind and how you reacted in that situation. You felt so upset, lost, and betrayed by someone who created you and let this happen to you without you or anyone else knowing, and you just... snapped and unleashed the dark side of yourself. When the incident was finally over, you've been having flashbacks of that event ever since. It must've been so traumatic for you, that it gave you nightmares and anxiety." he replied. "Yeah... it still does today. Stuff like that just doesn't go away... no matter how many times I want it to go away... it still comes back to haunt me. I can still see and feel what I have done. God... just thinking of it sends a chill down my spine." I replied.

The cloaked leader looked at me silently as I said my feelings about the kidnapping and my powers, nodded his head in understanding, and gently took my hands into his; holding them gently. I looked at him curiously and wanted to know why he is holding my hands like this. Before he said a word, the roars of the Gyarados echoed through the sky. We turned and saw them begin to come up close to the city and the shield. "Here they come." I said. "Yep. What do you say? You ready?" the cloaked leader replied. "Yeah. I'm ready." I replied as I let go of his hands and clutched my right hand into a fist; making my Mark glow. He then clutched his left hand into a fist and made his Mark glow golden-yellow. "Then let's do this." he said. I nodded my head in agreement and jumped up on Dragonfire's back; ready to take flight. The cloaked leader saw what I was doing, and then took out a Dusk Ball. "I might as well bring out my partner. Unleash your rebellious power, Noivern!" he said as he threw the Dusk Ball in the air. It opened and Noivern appeared for the first time. "Vern!" said Noivern as it spread out its wings; ready to fight.

"A Noivern?" I said. I took out my Phone and activated my PokéDex. "Noivern, the Sound Wave Pokémon. A Flying and Dragon type, and the evolved form of Noibat. Noivern can fly in the dark, attacking with ultrasonic waves strong enough to crush stone. It uses its sharp fangs to defeat foes." said my PokéDex. "Noi-vern." Noivern replied. It turned to me and my team as we looked at it for a moment, and then turned to its Trainer as he climbed up on its back. "Easy there, old friend. They're on our side." he said. "Vern? Noi, Noi-vern." Noivern replied. "I know, buddy. But right now we have to distract those Gyarados. Think you can help us with that?" the cloaked leader replied. "Vern." Noivern replied as it nodded its head to its Trainer. "Great. Now let's go." the cloaked leader replied. After that, we took off and began our battle with the Gyarados. Most of my team stayed up on the mountainside; while me, Dragonfire, the cloaked leader, and Noivern flew up in the sky to take on our foes.

The Gyarados saw us for the first time, let out loud roars, and began to fire Hyper Beams and Flamethrowers at us. We dodged the attacks and watched them follow our movements. "Noivern! Boomburst!" said the cloaked leader. "Vern! Noi-vern!" Noivern replied as it used Boomburst on the Gyarados; stunning them from the sound of the attack. "Dragonfire, use Thunder Punch!" I said. Dragonfire roared loudly, quickly descended from the sky, and used Thunder Punch on one of the Gyarados; knocking it back from the shield. We got away quickly and watched our foes shake their heads and roar at us again. "Onix! Rock Slide!" I said. Onix roared and used Rock Slide on the Gyarados. As they were hit by the attack, they dived down underwater for a moment, jumped up, and used Hydro Pump on my team; knocking the small members off. My eyes widened in shock, and me and Dragonfire came to their rescue. "You guys okay?" I asked them. They all nodded their heads yes to me and then we turned back to the Gyarados as they roared and jumped out to us.

"Tetrax!" I said. "Pi-ka! Pi-ka-chu!" Tetrax replied as he jumped off my shoulder and used Thunderbolt on the Gyarados; shocking them and making them fall. Tetrax landed back on my shoulder and clutched his right paw into a fist. "Great job, buddy." I said to him. "Pika-chu." he replied. "Taylor! Are you and your team alright?" said the cloaked leader as he and Noivern approached us. "Yeah. We're alright, but we better get back to the fight. I can tell that they're not done yet." I replied. We turned to the Gyarados and saw them get back up again. "I don't get it. Gyarados are Water and Flying type. Shouldn't that one Thunderbolt take them down?" said the cloaked leader. "Yeah... but this is their anger keeping them up for the battle. And from what I can see in their eyes... they're ready to kill whatever's in their way, and find the people that did this to them." I replied.

The Gyarados roared again and used Hyper Beam on us. We tried to quickly dodge it, but we were hit and sent crashing down to the grass. We stood back up and shook off the pain, and looked up at the Gyarados as they looked down at us. They fired another set of Hyper Beams at us, but we sent them back with Counter and Barrier. As they were hit, some of the beams went in different directions; hitting all around us. "Noivern! Strike with Dragon Pulse and Boomburst!" said the cloaked leader. "Noivern! Noi-vern! Noi-vern!" Noivern replied as it used Dragon Pulse and Boomburst on the Gyarados; hitting them directly. One Gyarados shook off the pain and used Aqua Tail on Noivern; knocking it down to the ground. "Noivern!" said the cloaked leader worriedly. Noivern stood back up, shook off the water, and screeched at the Gyarados angrily. It then turned to us and nodded its head to us; showing us that it is okay. We breathed sighs of relief, and then we all felt the ground begin to shake. "What the hell!?" said the cloaked leader.

"They're using Earthquake!?" I replied. The Gyarados roared loudly as the attack continued; making us nearly lose our balance. The attack ended for a moment, and then we saw another round of Hyper Beams begin to charge. Our eyes glew in our Mark's respective colors and began to charge up our fists with electricity; ready to strike. The Hyper Beams then fired at us, but were reflected back by something that jumped in front of us and hit the Gyarados. "What!?" we said surprised. The shadow figure jumped down and then revealed itself in the sunlight. "A Blastoise? Where did it come from?" said the cloaked leader. "Taylor!" replied a voice. We turned around and saw Misty appear by the waterside. "Misty!" I said. "Taylor! You okay? Did the Gyarados hurt you?" she replied as she ran upto us. "We're okay. Just a couple scrapes and bruises. Right?" I replied as I turned to the cloaked leader. "Yeah. We're fine." he replied. "Blastoise!" said Blastoise. "Misty? Where is Tsunami? Is he okay?" I replied. "I don't know. All I know is that he escaped before all this happened." Misty replied. "He escaped!? How?" I replied. "I saw it on the security footage. He escaped from the tank and is in the main city water somewhere... probably hiding from them." she replied as we turned back to the Gyarados.

We looked up at the Gyarados and saw them use Hydro Pump at us, and push us back with the strength of the attack. We shook off the water and stood back up and heard them roar again. As they did, they summoned a giant rainstorm from the sky; making the area covered in a downpour. When the rain quickly fell, I used my powers to shield Dragonfire's flame on his tail to keep him safe. He turned around, noticed the orb surrounding his flame, turned back to me, and nodded his head in thanks. I nodded my head to him, and climbed up on his back; ready to take flight. Tetrax jumped up on my shoulder. and the rest of my team jumped up onto Onix's head, while Misty and the cloaked leader stood by their main partners; ready to fight. "Blastoise! Ice Beam on the water!" said Misty. "Blast! Blas-toise!" Blastoise replied as it used the attack from the cannons on its back and hit the water; freezing it solid.

"Onix! Rock Slide from above!" I said. Onix roared and used the attack from above our foe's heads; knocking them slightly down. "Clefairy! Clefable! Moonblast!" I said. "Clef!" they replied as they jumped up in the air and fired a ball of lunar energy at the Gyarados. "Solar, Razor Leaf! Nidoran and Ekans, Poison Sting! Hurricane, Air Slash!" I said. They nodded their heads, jumped up, and used their attacks on the Gyarados; making them flinch. "Sandshrew, Rollout! Aurasoul, Bone Rush to help connect Sandshrew's attack, and use Aura Sphere!" I said. They nodded their heads, jumped up in the air as Sandshrew curled up into a ball and began to use Rollout, and Aurasoul used Bone Rush to hit Sandshrew like a hockey puck; bashing the Gyarados. Abra used his psychic energy to bring Sandshrew back, and Aurasoul used Aura Sphere on the Gyarados; stunning them from the barrage of attacks.

"Noivern, Dragon Pulse!" said the cloaked leader. "Vern! Noi-vern!" Noivern replied as it fired a multicolored dragon-shaped beam from its mouth at the Gyarados; striking them in their faces. Noivern flew back to its Trainer and watched the Gyarados shake their heads furiously from the attack. They opened their eyes and we saw that their eyes were fully red and began to charge up Hyper Beam. "Get back!" Misty screamed. We then began to run away, but the Gyarados quickly struck us with the attack; injuring some of us. One of the Hyper Beams hit me and Dragonfire, and made me fall off his back and land into the water. "Taylor!" yelled Misty and the cloaked leader worriedly. I slowly opened my eyes underwater and looked at the damage all around me; seeing underwater homes for Pokémon destroyed and injured water Pokémon hiding near the rubble. I blinked my eyes again, and saw a light brown shell floating near my line of sight. It moved slightly for a second and revealed itself to be a injured Squirtle.

I swam towards it, gently grabbed it in my arms, and held it safely. The Squirtle opened its red eyes and looked up at me; realizing that I saved its life. I nodded my head to it, and began to swim up to the surface. As I got close, I heard a roar echo through the water. I looked down and saw a new Gyarados violently swim upto us with glowing red eyes; shocking me and Squirtle. I quickly used my powers to form a shield around me to protect me and get me to breathe air. The Gyarados pushed us back fiercely and made us hit a giant home filled with Goldeen and Seaking. I shook off the pain for a couple seconds and looked down at the Squirtle; seeing the worried look in its eyes. "Squirtle?" it said. "Yeah... I'm okay. Just needed to catch my breath." I replied. I looked up and saw the Gyarados quickly come towards us and began thrashing down on my shield. "Don't worry, Squirtle. I'll protect you. I'll get you out of here." I said. "Squirtle-Squirt..." Squirtle replied nervously.

The thrashing continued for a couple more minutes, and then the shield began to crack; scaring me and Squirtle. The Gyarados roared again and prepared to use Ice Beam on us, but it was suddenly stopped by a surprise attack. "Huh?" I said curiously. "Squirtle?" Squirtle replied curiously. The rampaging Gyarados stopped, shook its head, looked to its right, and saw a pair of glowing green eyes quickly charge at it and bash it away with strength that was stronger than itself, and then guarded us. The mysterious creature roared loudly and used Dragon Rage at its foe; hitting it and making it swim away. "Squirtle..." said Squirtle as I repaired the shield. "Wait a second... that Dragon Rage attack... no way... Tsunami! Is that really you?" I replied. The creature turned to us, lowered its head, and revealed itself to be Tsunami. "Tsunami! You're okay! And you evolved into a Gyarados! That's amazing!" I said. Tsunami nodded his head, let out a powerful roar, and put us on his head to help get us out of the water.

As the group continued fighting, they all heard the sound of something come out of the water. They turned with the Gyarados, and saw a green eyed Gyarados with black scales on its body rise up from the water, and let out a mighty roar to its friends. "What the!? Who is that!?" said the cloaked leader. "Tsunami! You're safe!" Misty replied happily. Tsunami turned to her, nodded his head, and then lowered himself down to the grass; showing them that he saved me. "Taylor!" they said happily. I jumped off of Tsunami's head, smiled at them, and turned back to him. "Thank you, Tsunami. For saving my life." I said. Tsunami let out a calm, happy sound, and then looked back at his friends; seeing the violent looks in their eyes. He then looked back to me and saw the injured Squirtle in my arms; knowing now the pain they have caused. He then made a few sounds to me and motioned to me to jump back on his head.

"I think he wants to help us. He wants to save his friends from the destruction they caused." said the cloaked leader. "Hold on... you can understand him?" Misty replied. "Yes. I have the same abilities as Taylor. We can understand every Pokémon language." the cloaked leader replied. "Noi-vern." Noivern replied as it nodded its head. "Is that what you want, Tsunami? You want to help us get your friends back and return them back to normal?" the cloaked leader replied. Tsunami nodded his head yes to his question, and then looked back to me; seeing me stare into his eyes. I took in what had been said for a moment, and then looked down at Squirtle; knowing it's too dangerous for it to stick around here. "Misty. Take this Squirtle to safety. We're gonna finish this fight." I said as I turned to her and showed her the Squirtle. She was shocked at first, and then nodded her head in understanding. "Okay. You two be careful this time." she said. We nodded our heads yes to her response, and then she and Blastoise left with Squirtle to safety.

I jumped up on Tsunami's head, watched him lift himself up to face his friends, and then I saw my whole team appear beside me; ready to fight. The cloaked leader and Noivern flew upto us, and saw my eyes and Mark glow; making the cloaked leaders eyes and Mark glow too. We nodded our heads in understanding, and then turned to our foes; hearing them let out their roars and fire Hyper Beam, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Dragon Pulse. We dodged the attacks with ease and pushed them back with our combined strength; shocking them. Our eyes glew brightly with our Marks, and we raised our hands in the air and made them shine bright; making our Pokémon's eyes glow to our respective colors. "Taylor? You sure you want to do this? I don't think you have done something like this." said the cloaked leader. "I haven't... but I want to try this. I want to help save the people and Pokémon of this city. It's our job as Guardians to do this. We can't just let them go on a destructive rampage forever. Because if we do... no one will make it out of here alive." I replied.

"...You're right. Okay. Let's do this." he replied. "Right." I replied. After that, we charged to our foes went on a barrage of attacks on them. Onix sent down a Rock Slide, and let Aurasoul hit them with Bone Rush to make them descend quicker; while Sandshrew used Rollout and Swift to dash on the rocks and hit the foes in their faces. Aurasoul jumped off one of the rocks, used Meteor Mash on one Gyarados, and caught Sandshrew in his arms. Onix moved his head down to catch them, and then used Headbutt on the Gyarados that Aurasoul attacked. Nidoran, Ekans, Abra, Solar, Hurricane, Butterfree, Beedrill, Dragonfire, Tetrax, Tsunami, Clefairy, and Clefable launched off Poison Sting, Confusion, Air Slash, Solar Beam, Flamethrower, Electro Ball, Dragon Rage, and Dazzling Gleam at the foes; temporarily blinding them. "Dodge it, Tsunami!" I said as one Gyarados came close to us. Tsunami roared and dodged the oncoming attack. The foe roared and then leapt up in the air; charging up Hyper Beam. "Dragon Rage! Full power!" I said. Tsunami roared again, turned around, and used a power boosted Dragon Rage; taking down his friend.

"Nice work, Taylor." said the cloaked leader. "Thanks." I replied. We turned back to our foes and made our way behind them. As we did this; our groups, Misty, and everyone of the city got up on the rooftops of the buildings to watch it all and cheer us on. During the cheering, our groups noticed Tsunami fighting alongside us for the first time, and my groups eyes widened in shock. "Wait a second... a black Gyarados... no way... did..." said Zach. "Tsunami evolve? Yep. He sure did." Misty replied. "But how? Did he think Taylor was in danger and he wanted to go protect her?" Zach replied. Misty nodded her head yes to his question. He blinked his eyes, nodded his head in understanding, and then turned back to watch the fight.

The Gyarados turned around, saw us behind them, and then saw me and the cloaked leader jump off Tsunami and Noivern, and use Thunder Punch and Plasma Fists on them; shocking them. We jumped back onto our rides and looked at our foes as they began to stumble. "Taylor? Since when could you use Plasma Fists?" the cloaked leader asked me. "I used it to save a friend when she was nearly attacked by a rogue Fearow." I replied. "I see. It came natural for you to protect her, right? Even if it cost you your life?" he replied. I nodded my head yes to his question, and turned back to our foes; seeing them shake off the electricity. "Dammit. They're still holding on." I said. "But we got them to stumble a bit. All they need is a powerful Electric-type attack to stop them. But... we have to distract them before they strike." the cloaked leader replied.

"But how?" I replied. "I got just the thing. Noivern, fly above them and use Boomburst!" he replied. "Vern!" Noivern replied. They flew up high in the air and stayed above the Gyarados. "Noi-vern!" said Noivern as it used Boomburst from above, striking and stunning the Gyarados as they screeched in pain from the sound. Tsunami roared at his friends loudly; telling them to get back to their senses from the pitch of the attack. "This is it! Taylor! Now!" said the cloaked leader. "Right! Tetrax, use Thunderbolt!" I replied. "Pi-ka! Pi-ka-chu!" Tetrax replied as he jumped off my shoulder and used the attack on the Gyarados; striking them down for good. They let out one final roar together, and then collapsed onto the ground from the pain and exhaustion they've been through. The giant crowd cheered at our victory, and watched the shield drop. Our groups, Misty, and the police then came over to the sight and saw us approach the Gyarados.

We then jumped down to the ground and looked at the damage all around us. We then turned to each other, nodded our heads, and then knelt down to the ground. We closed our eyes, and then used our powers to restore everything around us back to normal, and heal the Gyarados, Tsunami, and our Pokémon. As we did this, I opened my glowing green eyes and looked out to a cliffside of Mt. Moon; seeing two creatures with glowing blue eyes watching me. My eyes lightly widened in shock to see them for a moment, and then watch them teleport away from my line of sight. "No way..." I said in a soft, surprised tone. "Huh? What is it? Did you see something over there?" the cloaked leader replied curiously. "...Yeah..." I replied. After that, everything around us was healed and restored. We stopped using our powers, and saw the people that came to see us. I looked around silently for a moment, and then saw the cloaked leader in front of me; extending his hand to me. I gently took his hand and stood back up on my feet.

"Taylor! You did it! You saved the city!" Sora cheered as he and my group ran over to me and hugged me. "Yeah... I sure did. But I couldn't do it alone." I replied as I let them go and looked at the cloaked leader as he reunited with his friends. They then turned to us and saw me walk over to them. "Hey, kid. You did great out there. Your powers were unbelievable." said one of the cloaked leader's allies. "Thank you." I replied. "He's right. You were outstanding. Looks like you do have what it takes to master the powers of our bloodlines." the cloaked leader replied. "You really think so?" I replied. "I know it. As long as you don't let your fear and trauma control you... you'll master them in no time. Take your time to use and train them slowly, and those mental blocks in your head will crumble." he replied. I thought about what he said for a moment, lightly smiled, and nodded my head to him in thanks. He did the same, and then we shook hands.

"Hey? Will I see you again?" I asked him. "Yes. When the time comes, we'll see each other again. And when we do... I wanna see how much you have improved." he replied. "You got it." I replied. He lightly laughed happily to my response, let go of my hand, and began to walk away with his allies. My group walked upto me a moment later, and we watched the cloaked Trainers disappear together. "Where are they going?" Sora asked us. "Probably going back to find their friends to see if they're okay." Pat replied. "Maybe... but... did you guys feel something familiar with them?" Zuzu replied. "Huh? What do you mean by familiar?" Zach replied. "Their voices. Did any of you feel like you knew them by their voices?" Zuzu replied. "Yeah... I swear Tay and I recognized one of their voices... but I can't put a finger on who it was." Zach replied. "Are you sure?" Zuzu replied. Zach and I nodded our heads yes to her response, turned to each other, and then back to where the cloaked Trainers went off; wondering where they will go and when we'll see them again.

Abandoned Warehouse

The sunlight shined through the windows of the warehouse, and inside revealed more cloaked Trainers with red scarves wrapped around on different parts of their bodies. As they waited, they heard a knock on the door. They stood up, turned around, saw two figures walk out into the light and take down their hoods. "Shay... Kite... they could be intruders. Should we let them in?" said one cloaked Trainer. They looked at the cameras, saw the four Trainers at the door, and saw the red scarves on them. "It's them. Let them in." said Kite. "Yes, sir." a cloaked Trainer replied. They stood around in silence, heard the door open, and saw the four Trainers that helped us out walk inside; showing them their red scarves on parts of their bodies as well. "You four made it. Did you find what you were looking for?" Shay asked them. The four Trainers nodded their heads yes to his question, and took off their hoods, and revealed themselves to be the four Sakaki brothers: Yuya, Yuri, Yugo, and Yuto.

"We saw what happened out there with those Gyarados. We wanted to come out and help... but it seems you had some help from a powerful fighter, eh Yuto?" said Kite. "Yeah. Her name is Taylor. She's a childhood friend of ours." Yuto replied. "And she has the same powers as him." Yuri replied. "What!? She's a Guardian too!?" Shay replied in shock. "It's true. We saw it with our own eyes." Yuya replied. "She even controlled more than six Pokémon when they stopped the Gyarados from destroying the city." Yugo replied. Shay looked at Yuto in shock, and then sat down on one of the chairs in the room. "Shay? You alright?" Kite asked. "So the prophecy is true... the two Guardians blessed by Arceus have been reincarnated. Yuto... does this mean that power you've been sensing for years was actually hers all along?" Shay replied. Yuto blinked his eyes, and nodded his head yes to his question. "And it gets worse... I found out why Team Rocket kidnapped her five years ago... and what they did to her." Yuto replied.

"Was it her powers?" Kite replied curiously. "Yes. They found out about them from her father, who was a former Scientist for Team Rocket, and they kidnapped her from her home, took her to their base in Celadon City, and did various experiments on her that left her traumatized. Ever since that day... she's been holding her powers back, but when she started her journey with our neighbors... her powers have slowly been used again to protect them and many others." Yuto replied. "I see... so she doesn't want to use her full strength because she is afraid of what happened to her in the past?" Shay replied. Yuto and his brothers nodded their heads yes to his question. Shay leaned back in the chair for a moment, sighed, and then leaned forward. "Yuto. I want you and brothers to keep your eyes on her, and give us updates on how she progresses with her abilities." he said. "Yes, sir." Yuto, Yuya, Yugo, and Yuri replied.

Shay nodded his head to them, and began to stand up. "Shay?" said Yuto. "Hm?" Shay replied. "When we saw the Gyarados and how they were acting... it made me think of the Lake of Rage incident you and Kite talked about two years ago." Yuto replied. Shay and Kite's eyes widened in shock to his response. "Are you sure? Did they act the same way we told you four about?" Kite asked. "Yes. It went exactly the way you both told us... but these ones were more violent. They gave Taylor and Yuto a hard time before they finally took them down." Yuri replied. "If it's true of what you said... that means..." Kite replied. "...They're back..." Shay replied. "Huh? Who's back?" Yugo replied curiously. "Team Rocket. They're back. And if they saw and heard what both Taylor and Yuto did... that means they are going to hunt them down." Shay replied.

"What!?" Yuya, Yugo, and Yuri replied in shock. Yuto's eyes widened in shock to what Shay had said, and then had a flashback of me telling him what Team Rocket did to me. After the flashback ended, he clutched his hands into fists angrily, and looked at his Mark; knowing now that he and I have targets on our heads. "Yuto. You need to let her know of this. She needs to know that Team Rocket has returned." Shay replied. "What!? I can't tell her that! It would make her shut down, and have all the trauma of that day control her!" Yuto replied. "Yuto. She needs to know of this. This time, she might have the ability to defend herself. But in case she doesn't... if you two cross paths again... you must train her to do so." Kite replied. Yuto's eyes widened in shock again, thought about what they had said for a couple moments, and then nodded his head to them. "Alright. I'll train her. As long as my brothers are there during those encounters." he said.

"Fine by us. Heh, I gotta admit, Shay. Maybe having another Guardian join the Resistance to take down Team Rocket would be a lot more interesting." Kite replied. "I agree, but I want to know what Team Rocket's leader needed Taylor when he hired his crime group to kidnap her... what did he see in her that would be so important to him?" Shay replied. "Who knows? They almost tried that with Yuto many moons ago, but he managed to escape from them before they even got him in their trucks." Kite replied. Shay nodded his head in agreement, and looked back at Yuto as he and his brothers went to go talk to their allies. "Yuto... why did Arceus choose you and her..? What does it see in the both of you to be the heroes it wants you to be..?" he said in his thoughts.

Nugget Bridge- Sunset

"Hey, Taylor? How did it feel to find out that someone has the exact same powers as you?" Sora asked me. "Hm? It felt pretty cool, I guess." I replied. "Really?" he replied. "Mhm. Though... I didn't expect that I would meet someone like him now... but it made me feel good because now I know that I'm not alone when it comes to this." I replied. "That's an interesting way to put it. But now that you know the guy a little bit... maybe when you see him again, he might reveal his face to you?" Celina replied. I nodded my head in agreement to her response, and turned to the water; seeing our Pokémon playing with Tsunami. "Hey? What are you guys doing out here?" said a voice. "Hm?" I replied curiously as we turned around; seeing Misty walking upto us with her Blastoise, Vaporeon, and the Squirtle I found in her arms.

"Hi, Misty. What are you doing out here?" said Zach. "Not much. This Squirtle wanted to come outside, and thank a certain person for saving its life." Misty replied. "Squirtle!" Squirtle replied happily as it jumped out of Misty's arms and landed in my arms. I laughed happily as Squirtle hugged me, and I hugged it back. "Hey there, buddy." I said. "Squirtle-Squirt." Squirtle replied happily. "Aww! It's so cute!" Zuzu replied. "Yeah. It sure is." I replied. "Squirtle-Squirt!" Squirtle replied. Zach walked over, and gently petted Squirtle's head; making it wag its tail happily. "Heh. You're a cute little guy. You remind me of my Wartortle when he was a Squirtle." he said. "Squirtle." Squirtle replied. After that, we heard our teams run and fly over to us, see Squirtle, and greeted it happily; making it do the same.

We smiled happily at the reactions, and then I turned to Tsunami; seeing him looking down at me. He blinked his eyes and began to nuzzle me happily; happy to see me safe and healthy. "He really likes you, huh Tay?" Pat asked me. "He sure does. She's the only human he really trusts. So when he found out she was in danger, he got very determined to save her, and evolved into a Gyarados himself in order to save her." Misty replied. We nodded our heads in agreement to her response, and then Misty walked over to me, and put a Dive Ball in my hand. "Hm? What's this?" I said. "It's a Dive Ball. It's a kind of PokéBall that makes catching Pokémon from the water easier to catch. And I think I know a certain one that would be perfect for it." she replied. I blinked my eyes for a second, turned around, and looked up at Tsunami; seeing him stare at me curiously.

He lowered his head, sniffed the Dive Ball, and let out a happy sound. "Misty..? Are you saying that Tsunami wants to travel with her?" Zuzu asked. "Mhm. He sure does. Ever since they first met, I could tell that he wanted to be by her side in battle and become the strongest Gyarados in the world, and counter any storm that comes in Taylor's way. And he proved that today when he saved her and Squirtle's lives when they were attacked underwater. So now, he hopes that she saw that determination in his eyes, and hopes that he has proved to her that he has what it takes to be a powerful Pokémon that will also protect her and all of her friends." Misty replied. "Whoa..." Pat and Sora replied. "That's... that's pretty deep." Zach replied. "Yeah..." Celina replied.

Tsunami and I stared at each other in silence for a moment, looked down at the Dive Ball, and then back to each other. "Is that true, Tsunami? On what Misty had said?" I asked him. He blinked his eyes, nodded his head, and let out a sound to confirm his answer. I blinked my eyes, thought about his answer for a moment, and then showed him a light smile. "Tsunami... you have grown so much for the past few years. You've grown from being a shy and distant Magikarp into a strong and brave Gyarados. You've learned how to trust in others again after being saved from that storm and rehabilitated at the Aquarium with your friends, Misty, her sister's, coworkers, my brother, and me. And you proved it all today after what happened with your friends, and showed not only me, but to all of us, that you have the heart, strength, and determination to become the strongest Gyarados in the world. And that has made me... so proud of you. You've really shown me how strong you have become. I am so proud of you, Tsunami." I said.

He let out a happy sound and nuzzled me happily with tears in his eyes; thanking me for what I said to him. I gave him a hug, let him go, and showed him the Dive Ball again. "Tsunami? Would you like to come with me and my friends on our journey?" I asked him. Tsunami's eyes lightly widened in shock to my answer, and then he roared happily to my answer. He then dived underwater, swam around, and then jumped out of the water happily. "I guess that's a yes from him." said Zach. "Mhm. It sure looks like it." Zuzu replied happily. Tsunami then swam upto me and showed a smile to all of us; making us happy. "Wow... I've never seen a Gyarados this happy before." said Pat. "Me too. I guess that seeing a Gyarados really happy is a rare thing to see in real life." Sora replied. "It is. But it is something we will never forget." Celina replied. Pat and Sora nodded their heads in agreement, and then the group saw me prepare to throw the Dive Ball.

"Ready, bud?" I said. Tsunami nodded his head, and prepared himself to be caught. "Okay! Dive Ball, go!" I replied as I threw the Dive Ball towards Tsunami. He roared happily again, and let the Dive Ball capture him. The Dive Ball closed up, shook once, confirmed the capture, and my Abra used his psychic power to bring the Ball back to me. "Gyarados has been registered to your PokéDex." said my phone. I looked down at the Dive Ball silently for a moment, smiled warmly, and gave it a hug; welcoming Tsunami to the team. "Congrats, Tay." said Zuzu. "Thank you, Zuzu." I replied. "Taylor? I know that you will take great care of Tsunami. Just promise me that you will be at his side and help him become the strongest Gyarados in the world." Misty replied. "I promise. We'll do our very best." I replied. We shook hands happily, gave each other a hug, and I handed Squirtle back to her.

"Squirtle?" said Squirtle. "Huh? You sure you don't want to take Squirtle too?" Misty replied. "Well... I don't know if it has family that are looking for it..? So, I want to leave Squirtle in your care for now until we find its family." I replied. "Squirt? Squirt! Squirtle-Squirt! Squirtle!" Squirtle replied. It jumped out of her arms again and landed in my arms safely; not wanting me to leave it. "I think he's attached to you." she said. "He?" I replied. "Yep. Nurse Joy confirmed it for me when we got him checked out at the Pokémon Center. Look, Tay. You don't have to catch him right now... but I think it's best for Squirtle to stay with you. He would feel a lot more comfortable and safe with you and all your friends. Don't you think, Squirtle? You want to stay with Taylor and her friends?" Misty replied. "Squirtle!" Squirtle replied happily as he looked up at me; showing me the happiness in his eyes.

"Okay. You can stay with me." I said with a smile. "Squirtle!" Squirtle replied happily. We gave each other a hug, and I lifted him up in the air happily; making him smile. After that, we all said our goodbyes to Misty for now, and went back to the hotel to rest up for the night.

Cerulean City Hotel

As everyone slept through the night, I stayed up and looked at the stars in the sky; thinking about everything that had happened today. After all the memories of today closed in my mind, I turned to my left and saw the Cerulean City Gym standing tall with bright lights shining. I lightly smiled at the Gym, and then looked back up at the stars; beginning to plan my strategy against Misty and her team. As I did this, Yuto and his brothers looked out to the hotel from the trees, and saw me still awake as I stood on the patio. "I can't believe it... our best friend is a Guardian too..? This is insane." said Yugo as he sat down on a heavy branch. "Yeah..." Yuya replied. "Well it would explain why she always wore that glove on her right hand. Her family must've told her to hide it from us and the general public. If a stranger saw her using her powers, they would've thought she was a monster." Yuri replied as he crossed his arms and leaned back on the tree.

"But she isn't a monster! Did you see how she attacked those Gyarados? I think she is very skilled at fighting. I'm just surprised that she didn't go all out with her power." Yugo whispered. "Yeah... but I think with all the trauma that she deals with after the Team Rocket is holding her back from using her full strength. What do you think, Yuto?" Yuya replied as he stood up and looked at his brother. "...Yeah. But I want to know exactly what Team Rocket did to her. Did one of their experiments make her snap and lose control of herself? Or did they use her to try and locate a certain Pokémon for their leader?" Yuto replied. "Who knows? But if it's true that Team Rocket is back... then we'll protect her this time. And fulfill the promise we made to her when she came back home that night." Yuya replied with a warm smile and clutch of his fist. Yuto smiled warmly at his brother, nodded his head, and they shared a arm bump. They lightly laughed happily, and then looked back to the hotel; wondering what me and the gang will be upto tomorrow.

Thank you so much for reading Chapter 8 of the story! We're here! We finally arrive at Cerulean City and meet with nearly everyone's favorite Gen 1 Gym Leader, Misty! I was very excited writing Misty's character in this one, because I decided to do a mix of her game and anime personalities! Plus, I don't want to disappoint the Gen 1 fans if I excluded Misty from the Chapter. Don't worry, guys. She'll be around for the next three Chapters. So you will see both the fun side of her, and the battle side of her during this time in the city. Right now, I am planning on her team for the Gym battle and seeing how I can make it unique to many others who wrote fanfics of their battles with Misty.

Anyways, what did you guys think of the battle with Gyarados? And the surprise of the Sakaki brothers and the Resistance? We're going to be seeing them quite a lot in this Kanto arc of the journey. Let's just say... they have something against Team Rocket. Many things alongside of the kidnapping and experimentation of Taylor. They'll be popping around from time to time, and try to find Giovanni and his main goal right now with the reformed Team Rocket. Who knows what his plan is? Is it something to do with the Guardian's powers? Or is it something to do with Mewtwo? It'll all be known sometime down the road as they story goes on.

Anyways, thank you so much for reading, and have an awesome day!

Next time, Chapter 9: A Cerulean Performance. As everyone calms down from the Gyarados event, the group is invited by Misty to join her for the Pokémon Water Show at the Aquarium! What kind of show will this be? Can they bring smiles to peoples faces as they perform? Find out in Chapter 9, as the Journey continues! ;)
