Mario, Olivia, and Bob-om all left the tram. Olivia looked around.

"Huh, it does look like autumn here. I guess the name makes sense," the Bob-om stated, implying that he had not believed the name to be fitting at first.

"It's soo pretty here! Breathe that crisp autumn air. Crunch the leaves! Examine the Blue Streamer thoroughly as it waves in the wind against the orange-Wait!" Olivia looked up. "There, the Blue Streamer!"

Olivia's unknowing statement was correct. The Blue Streamer waving calmly against the autumn breeze was a breathtaking sight. The deep blue stood in contrast to the light blue sky and warm-colored leaves.

"Wow, that's the streamer? Why does it look so good with the orange? Man, your brother really knows how to match colors REALLY well!"

"Yeah, I guess so...I wonder where it leads."

"I'll go check!"

"Wait, Boone! You shouldn't run off ahead! It could be danger-Aaand he's already gone." She sighed heavily. "He's going to get injured..."

Mario followed after the dud, spotting him just no far down the path.

"Hey, Big M! Look at this."

Mario came over and beheld the sight of jagged rocks tall as a two-story house blocking off the path the Blue Streamer led to.

"I can't climb it because I don't have arms, and I don't think you can jump that high." He blinked at Mario. "Can you jump that high?"

Mario shook his head.

"Wait, the Earth Vellumental mentioned other Vellumentals right? Then there must be some sort of other Vellumental here! We can have it get rid of these pesky rocks for us," Olivia suggested.

"That's a great idea, ma'am!"

"Yay! I had a good idea! Mario, Mario! Let's see if my good idea works!"

"Oh, and also my name is Bob-om." The Bob-om spotted a folded Spiny not too far ahead of the path. "Oh hey! That guy looks cool! Maybe he wants to join our group too! Hey, spiky back!" Bob-om rushed off ahead again.

"I promise I'll get Bobby's name right this time...Wait! That's a Folded Soldier! Those guys are dangerous! Mario, he's not listening. We need to do something!"

The Spiny popped into its shell and charged at the unsuspecting dud.

"Hey guys, I think he wants to join us!"

"Bobby! Move out of the way! He's attacking you!"

"No way, what?!"

Mario jumped over the Bob-om and landed in front of him with his hammer drawn. He slammed the hammer against the spinning Spiny and sent it flying into a wall of rocks. A small boulder came down and crushed it, the Spiny exploding into confetti.

"Oh, Bobby...You can't just run off like that! Those guys were created by my brother, which means they're dangerous."

"I'm sorry ma'am. What a day to get amnesia; when your evil brother's trying to take over the world."

"That's okay! You know better now, and Mario will always be here to protect you. Right, Mario?" She turned to face Mario, her smile quickly fading when she saw that he had left her and Bobby behind. "Mario?!"

"What's wrong, ma'am?"

"M-Mario left us behind! I don't think he saw we were talking and thought we were still following him!"

"That's bad. Neither of us have been here before, and if I had I don't remember!"

"We should continue up this path since that's the only way to go now."

Bobby agreed and followed Olivia up the path. Olivia stopped at a group of Cheep Cheeps flopping around on the ground.

"Oh? Do mountains usually have land fish? That's super cool!"

"Um, ma'am? Fish don't live on land."

"Silly Bobby! Don't you see these fish floppin' around? Heehee. They're so weird! They almost look like they're choking. Maybe I shouldn't be laughing at that...Are these Mountain fish okay?"

"Ma'am, they're dying."

"Huh? Why?"

"Because, with the small puddles of water still here, there's evidence that this is a lake."

Olivia looked around. "Wait, then that means..."

Bobby braced himself.

"THE LAKE IS ALL DRIED UP?!"

"Yup...there's the yell of realization."

"But the poor fishies!" Olivia scooped up some water with her hands and splashed a nearby Cheep Cheep with it, hoping it would make the fish better. It didn't, and Olivia started sobbing.

"Ma'am, are you okay? Why are you crying?"

"Because the fishies are going to drown on air!"

"Ma'am, we'll find a way to save the fish; but the longer we sit here, the more they'll drown on air."

Olivia sniffed. "Okay...yeah. Let's keep going! We'll find a way to save the fish!" She folded into a square and tried to fly into Bobby's pocket, only to bump into him instead and unfold. "Right, you're not Mario. Oops."

"You're good, ma'am. You're probably not used to me being around yet. And I'm not used to being around you. What are you anyways? You're so pointy."

"I can explain as we walk." She started off towards a boat dock, and headed into dry land again, Bobby following. "I'm origami! My brother's a king, so I'm the princess of our kingdom."

"I didn't realize you were royalty, ma'am. I just thought that was a really cool hat."

"No, silly! It's a two-pointed crown, but it's too big! Olly didn't want to refold it either, so I'm just kind of stuck with it."

"It looks like cat ears."

"Thanks?" She giggled, the tips of her crown wriggling with the movements. "You're funny, Bobby!"

Bobby felt a goofy grin spread across his face despite not having a visible mouth.

Olivia floated on ahead. "Ooh, what's this?"

"Ma'am, you told me not to go ahead and you do it anyways!" He stopped. Olivia was examining a glowing blue circle on the ground near the water.

It had four circles on the outer border with water-drop shapes inside. Connecting the circles were curved lines with a swerving line in the center of them. The center was the most interesting part.

There was an image of a dragon.

"It looks like the Earth Vellumental's Magic Circle, but blue."

"What's a Magic Circle?"

Olivia blinked at him, then smiled. "It's something us Origami Folk use to create magic. They require energy to use and activate, but that isn't much of a problem as long as you don't use too much energy."

"That's kind of cool. So what does this one do?"

"I don't know. This is the first time I've seen a Magic Circle like this." Olivia started off towards a bridge. "Look, there's Mario. Hi, Mario!"

A Paper Macho Goomba crashed into Mario, sending him tumbling over the side of the bridge. The Goomba turned around and started pacing across the bridge.

"Oh no! Mario!" She faced Bobby, worry written all over her face. "We need to save him! He can beat the Paper Macho Goomba."

Bobby peeked over the edge of the bridge into the trees below. "I don't know, that looks like a pretty hard fall..."

"If Mario dies, Olly will win. And...you'll be folded into nothing but a mindless, murderous, freak like the other Folded Soldiers. I can't, and I won't, let that happen to you as long as I still breathe. You got that?"

Bobby felt his face grow warm. "You got it, ma'am!" Bobby faced the valley down below once more. "Timber!" He leaped off the bridge. "This was a mistaaaaaakeeeee!"

"Oh, he actually jumped! Alright Olivia. For Mario!" She flew off to join Bobby down below.

She slowed when the ground came into view. Bobby's head was trapped in the ground, so she pulled him out. Bobby Looked around.

"There are so many trees."

Olivia had already gone on ahead, so Bobby went to join her.

"Oh, something's rolling this way. Maybe it's Mario!" She flew forwards more.

"I don't think that's Big M, ma'am."

She returned quicker than she had left repeating 'Not Mario' repeatedly. She flew past Bobby, an acorn brown spiked ball chasing after her. Bobby joined her side, moving off the path they were originally on.

"What was that thing?!"

"I said it wasn't Big M, didn't I?"

"You were right...It looks like they're going in a specific pattern. I bet we can dodge them all if we pay enough attention to the pattern!"

"Hmm...why don't you go first?"

"Okay!"

She slowly went back to the path and slapped herself against the wall as a spiky ball rolled past her. She resumed scooching against the wall until she fell into a Mario-sized hole.

"Oh hey! Bobby, there is safe spots! Come on!"

Bobby took a deep breath and followed her. She smiled when he joined her in the safe spot. His face grew hot again.

"Uhh...kind of cramped in here, isn't it? Phew, it's hot in here. Haha good thing I'm a dud. I don't want to explode."

Olivia and Bobby resumed the pattern of sliding against walls and hiding in holes until they found a pipe and reached a ledge that an Origami Goomba was shaking the spiked chestnuts from a tree free and watched as they rolled down the hill.

"Hey, stop being mean!" Olivia shoved him over and he fell onto a chestnut. It rolled down the hill with him. Olivia pulled Mario free from the floor, as his head had been trapped. "Mario! We came to save you!"

"Wahoo! Thanks Olivia! I thought I was-a going to be trapped forever!"

"Yay! Mario's back!"

Bobby smiled at her. "Yeah, you did it ma'am!"

"What do you mean I did it?"

"I didn't really do anything, ma'am. I just followed you while you dealt with the Folded Soldiers on the way up."

"No way! You were awesome too, Bobby. When you bumped that Galoomba and he tumbled over the edge was great!"

Bobby laughed. "Yeah, I guess it was. I didn't mean to hit him that hard though."

Olivia faced back to the plumber as he was re-adjusting his hat. "Should we keep going?"

Mario nodded.
