"WOW!" Olivia pushed her way past Mario. "Look at that temple! It's so pretty!"

After heading up the remaining path, they ended up on the other side of the bridge. Mario defeated the Paper Macho Goomba and began making his way to the large white temple that Olivia just noticed.

It looked almost like a traditional Japanese Shrine, with gleaming white walls and two small bridges over the pool of water it sat in. Cheep Cheeps leaped out of the water, a Folded Soldier splashing against the bridge every now and again. The sun hit the temple just right, casting a towering shadow over them that stretched all the way to Chestnut Valley past them and below.

"Ooh," Bobby gasped. "Wow. Now THAT'S living. Whoever lives there should consider giving me the guest room."

"Bobby, it's a temple! Nobody lives there. It's more like a shrine for spiritual beings...which means we're at the next Vellumental's doorstep! Yay!"

"Now, let's-a go inside." Mario tested the door, but nothing happened. He wacked it with his hammer and still produced the same result. "Mamma mia..." Mario stepped back, only to fall a slight inch shorter. He looked down and saw a button under his feet displaying the image of feet on it, which glew when not stepped on.

"Oh, I see!" Olivia flew over to the other button.

Mario and Bobby stayed silent.

"Wait a minute! I'm floating! I can't push the button. Bobby, you have feet. Get over here and put them to use already!" She floated back to Mario.

"Okay, ma'am." Bobby sighed and stepped onto the button. It went down with a loud clack, and the doors slid open.

"Wahoo!" Mario started inside.

"Come on, Bobby. Let's go see the next Vellumental!"

Bobby shook his head. "Nope. It's not that I'm afraid of the temple or anything, but it's just that I want to watch the door. Yeah. I'll guard the door."

Olivia looked around. "But you'll miss the Vellumental."

"Aww, too bad," Mario said. "It'll probably be-a cool-looking."

"And you'll be out here all by yourself...Bobby, please? I don't want you to be alone."

Bobby peeked open an eye at her. She was clearly upset, and the way she said 'please' was heart-breaking. He couldn't say no to her. She was adorable! And what she said about him being alone made sense. He would rather brave a dark temple together than watch the door alone. It would at least be less boring.

"Alright, fine." He walked over to the two. "But if I die, it's Big M's fault."

"Fair enough," Mario agreed with a shrug.

This temple was less of a death-trap than the Earth Vellumental's Shrine, and a lot calmer too. There was a lot of water, so everybody had to be careful where they walked. The puzzles had to do with more of the mind rather than running around a lot. The temple mostly consisted of two sliding puzzles, the second one extremely challenging. Mario only kept going because of Olivia and Bobby's cheering.

"Alright, the last door. We finally got it-a open. The next Vellumental has to-a be behind here."

"Let's go then!"

Mario took a step through the doors, but Bobby was hesitant. He took a deep breath and entered. Mario and Olivia were waiting on the other side for him.

"Sorry, first time being in a temple."

"That's okay," Olivia comforted. "It's the same for me. Are you ready to meet the Vellumental?"

Bobby nodded. "Yeah, the longer we wait, the stronger your brother will get!"

Mario crossed a little bridge made of thick wooden planks. The arena was circular like the Earth Vellumental's, but was surrounded with water.

"Where is it? Shouldn't it be-"

Olivia couldn't finish her statement for as she was talking, the water around them began gathering into giant water sprouts that lined the outside of the circular ground.

"Waaah!" Olivia dashed behind Mario, and Bobby followed suit.

The shadow of a dragon passed over them. Mario looked up as it vanished from sight.

"Mortals? Here? Hahaha! You fools!" The voice echoed off the walls and floor. It sounded female.

"It's a dragon?!" Bobby gasped.

The Water Vellumental flapped its wings over the area, blowing harsh winds at Mario and co. Mario held out his arms to protect his face.

"No mortals have come here for a LONG time! And the last one who did, he did THIS to me! To all of us! None of us are safe anymore, and now the mortals at Shogun will feel my wrath!"

"Oh, it's the Water Vellumental talking...This one's folded too." Olivia moved closer to it. "I wonder if I can get it to calm down..."

"SILENCE! I will not listen to any more of you Origami Folk! You've betrayed us before, and now you've betrayed us again! I will make sure you drown in your regret! The purple one, especially!"

"She must be talking about my brother. Listen! I mean you no harm! We're going to turn you back to normal, okay?"

The Water Vellumental smacked her away with its tail and started towards Mario. "And you, you're working with the traitors. You deserve to die as well. Maybe I'll keep your special items in my hoard! Starting with your hat, to his fuse holder."

Mario bonked her on the face with his hammer. She only flinched. She shook her head side to side to straighten out the folds again, and growled. Mario held out his shiny Hurlhammer as defence, and she immediately froze. She tilted her head slightly, examining the shiny, metal hammer.

"Mario, she stopped! Whatever you did, it worked!" Olivia stated.

Mario opened his eyes to find the Water Vellumental sitting on the ground, gaze fixed to the hammer. Mario moved it to the side, and her gaze followed.

"Wait, this is a dragon! They like shiny stuff, right? Give her your hammer, Mario!"

Mario placed it on the ground, and she scooped it up in her powerful jaws.

"Yay! We did it! No fighting this time, right?"

She clamped her teeth on it, and the handle snapped off of it and clanked on the ground. She tossed the head of the hammer at Mario's face.

"Aah!" He ducked, and it crashed into the wall.

"You think you can tame me with bribery?! I will NOT stand for this!" She took to the skies. The water from the sprouts starting crowding around her.

"That doesn't look good, Big M!"

Olivia moved the handle of the hammer out of the way and blew the water off. "Mario! Earth Vellumental!"

Mario jumped onto the Magic Circle and it lit up upon contact. Olivia began folding herself, and Bobby scurried over to them.

"I just realized I don't remember how to swim!"

Olivia landed on the ground as the Earth Vellumental. "Hey, is it just me, or is the Water Vellumental looking a little water-logged?"

The water sprouts no longer remained, and the Water Vellumental was surprisingly obese now.

"It ate the water!" Bobby screamed. "It's going to get soggy! Right?"

Olivia roared and Mario and Bobby were lifted into the air by a large section of dirt. "Ha! You can't get soggy now!"

The Water Vellumental sprayed the ground directly below it with the water she had stored. Olivia unfolded quickly and fled back to Mario. The water splashed against the raised platform, washing around it. The dirt began falling off as the water crashed against it.

"That doesn't look good, ma'am." Bobby looked at her. "Ma'am? Are you tired? Now?!"

"Using the Vellumentals takes a lot out of me...I'm sorry..."

The dirt under them shattered and the platform fell to the ground. The Water Vellumental did as well, exhausted. Mario handed the exhausted Olivia to Bobby by placing her on his head.

"Hi, ma'am."

"Hey, Bobby..."

Mario grabbed the broken handle and jumped at the Water Vellumental. "Yahoo!" He stabbed it right in the center of her forehead, and jumped on it to wedge it in further. He flipped off of the impact and landed next to Bobby. He scooped Olivia back up.

The Water vellumental roared, the ground shaking underneath. "Bested by three mortals. Of course I was...Just great." The Water Vellumental fell to it's side, it splashing against the ground as a large puddle of water. Just like with the Earth Vellumental, it transformed into a book and summoned a Magic Circle.

Olivia sloppily flew over to it. "Okay...time to practice."

"Ma'am no! You're exhausted!"

"So what?"

"Use too much energy, and you'll kill yourself!"

She looked at the Magic Circle, then back to Bobby. "I can do this. I'm fine."

"Ma'am, you still need to fill the lake! Save it!"

"I'll be able to recover from here to there," she lied.

"Bobby's right, Olivia. You shouldn't work yourself so-a hard-"

"I said I'm fine!" She gave them a sad look. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell again. It's just, if I don't work myself hard, Olly's going to destroy the world. I can't let that happen, no matter how tired I am."

Mario and Bobby shared a worried glance.

Olivia floated lower to the open book. "Oh! So that's why it didn't get soggy! It has some sort of waterproofing built into its folds. Hmm..." She sat up, and the book vanished. "Alright. I think I got it!"

Mario walked onto the activated Magic Circle and Olivia waited for Mario to give her the signal. She made up the signal of an 'ok' hand sign as a way to tell if Mario was ready or not. He nodded.

She unfolded, and Bobby watched with amazement. Once she completed the folds, she shook her head much like the Water Vellumental had and smiled.

"See? I'm fine!"

"Um..." Bobby began, but Mario shushed him.

"I hope I look as majestic as the Water Vellumental now!" Her smile faded a little. "I'm REALLY well hydrated, actually..."

"Ma'am-"

"Actually, you sh-should probably stand back-!"

Mario held out his arms for protection again, and Bobby ducked behind Mario. She sprayed the floor where the water was before the sprouts were summoned, which raised the bridge back up. She unfolded and returned to them.

"How does the...Water Vellumental...stand that...? That was...so weird..."

"What'd it feel like?" Bobby asked, generally curious.

"Throwing up...your stomach..." Olivia panted.

"Ew! Forget I asked!"

Mario turned around and squatted a bit, patting his knees. "Come-a on, Olivia."

Olivia climbed onto his back. "To the...lake...!"
