"I can't read it, just like the words on the entrance. This will take YEARS to fully and correctly translate. But whatever's so 'special' about Origami Folk magic is what worries me."

Mario was leading them back over to the large room with his army of forty faceless Toads.

"I wonder if it's because it's so powerful..."

"What do you mean?"

"Olly...he could barely do a valley fold much less a simple creation when he first folded me."

"He folded you?"

Olivia nodded. "And I love being alive! But now...he was able to fold the Vellumentals. Deities! Without doing much more than just a wave of his hand."

"Your brother..."

"He somehow inherited the Fold of Life when he was folded. But, I guess I have a little bit of it too since I can re-energize Magic Circles and help Mario use them." She looked back at the image. "But now I'm worried what that means for us Origami Folk. What if they don't accept us after this?"

"If they don't like you, that's their problem!" He shut the book. "I hope it's nothing horrible, to say the least. I'll translate it later, okay?"

"Okay."

Mario handed the disc and radio back to Beatz.

"You did it, guys! Now my face is saved!"

Mario had been planning out an entire dance with the Toads while they were walking. Olivia didn't want to bring up the book again, but she was worried.

"Can you start translating it now?"

"But you said-"

"I know what I said, but I'm worried! I want to know what this means for Olly and I. I...I had hoped that we would be able to live in peace with the Flat Folk in our own little Origami Castle but..." She rubbed her arm.

"How about this? When you're done exploring the desert, I'll come with you and let you know when I've finished translating a part of it. Does that make you feel a little better?"

"But, what about your studies?"

"This can be a part of my studies! Imagine, I'll be the pathmaker for future archeologists! Translating a whole ancient book that's like a thousand pages long? That's an achievement!"

She giggled. "You're so optimistic!"

"I thank you for that, Olivia. I happen to be pretty pessimistic heh."

Their conversation was interrupted by a loud crash and somebody yelling, "It's groovy!"

"The person behind the door...that's the thing that was with your brother!"

Olivia looked to see them pushing the faceless Toads off the dance floor. They spun on a corner of their square-ish body.

"Hey! You punched out their faces to make them dance with you!" Olivia snapped.

"Yeah? And what's your problem with that, lady? Don't tell me you actually like those things. Ellos son asquerosos!"

"They are not the sun! And speaking of which, where did you and Olly hide it?"

"See for yourself, lady!"

She looked around. "I don't see it..."

"Exactly! This party goes on from dusk to dawn and since there's no sun, it'll last forever!" They stopped dancing for a second to listen to the Toad's screams of terror. "You hear that? They're calling for an encore! Now I can come and steal the dance floor!"

"You're heartless!"

They spun again. "All Toads together as one, now I can have some fun!"

Mario hammered their handle. They didn't even flinch.

"Hah! You thought that was going to work? My handle's tough as nails, dude! I'm Hole Punch: Disco Devil! Nice to meet you, Mario."

"Disco Devil? Does that mean the rest of them have titles too?" Olivia asked, distracting Hole Punch so Mario could sneak behind him.

"Yup! Colored Pencils is the Missile Maestro, and RB is the Elastic Entertainer! She's the best lady I've ever met! I love her so much, she's so talented."

"Love? Like a sibling or a friend?" She didn't know what he ment, so her stalling was actually her asking serious questions.

"Oh, it's more than that. I don't know how to explain it...But she's more special to me than that."

"Aww, that's so sweet!"

"Eeh, uh..." He stuttered. "Th-thanks?"

Mario whammed his hammer onto Hole Punch's lid, knocking a few Toad faces loose. Hole Punch quickly picked them back up.

"Seriously man?! There's no fun in that! Come on, man! What's with the hat?" He punched a hole in Mario's face and hat, taking the classic 'M' with the circular piece. "Now that's a nice face! Perfectly peach! Excelente!"

"M-Mario?"

He faced back to Olivia. "So, girly, what are you doing here all by yourself?

Mario hammered the lid again, knocking his face piece out. He picked it up and put it on the hole, it resealing back to his face. "Yahoo!" He hammered the lid again.

"Hey! Stop that! I'm trying to have a conversation here!" He slapped Mario away with his handle. "But now you're going to get it for messing with my groove!"

"Mario! The lid! Take that off and I'm sure he'll be done for! There's a Magic Circle by your fee-"

"What was that?! You fighting against me now? Man, I was making a friend after all this time, and you just stab me in the ba-"

Mario tore the lid off with the 1,000-Fold Arms. Hole Punch clacked to the floor, the Toad's faces following his movements and falling out as he fell.

"That's it man...I'm gone-I'm done! I lost fair and square and Mario won..."

"Wahoo!"

"Tell us what you did with the sun!"

He pushed himself off the floor a tiny bit with his handle. "You'll see...when the streamer's gone." He thudded back down. "Goodbye cruel world, I'm good as dead...And all I wanted was to punch his head..." He giggled softly and quietly. "Let's keep this party going until the sun goes up...Count it down for me, okay?"

"3!" The song sang. "2! 1!"

Hole Punch seemed to smile, although he had no face. "Dulce alivio..." He vanished in ash.

"Why are all of their deaths so sad?" Olivia asked.

"Maybe because they don't-a want to die."

Olivia guided Hole Punch's energy to the Magic Circle. Mario destroyed the streamer. The streamer died in confetti, the disco ball above the dance floor falling loose. It shattered on the ground and the sun appeared.

"Oh my gosh why?!" She covered her eyes. "My eyes! They burn!"

Mario was forced to cover his eyes as well, along with everyone else in the room. It flew up through the hole in the roof where the streamer was and returned to its spot in the sky.

"Aaah...that was painful," Olivia stated.

"Yeah, no wonder it was-a so bright in here!"

They left and were greeted by the bright sand and heatwaves.

"Oh yeah, we were still in the desert." Olivia squinted. "Woof, no wonder it's called 'Scorching Sandpaper Desert.' This place is hot!"

Stephen tapped the book against his chin. "Wait, the sun was the answer all along! You put the incense on the Sun Alter, right?"

Mario nodded. "Olivia thought the bowl was-a filled with oatmeal."

Stephen started down the stairs. "Follow me! To the area I was eaten!"

"Yeah!" Olivia cheered.

"FOR SCIENCE!"

"YEAH!"
