Chapter 15: Revolting Electivire!
Vermilion Beach- Lighthouse
The sounds of the waves moving towards the shoreline at near high tide echoed in the air; crashing onto the rocks of the hill the lighthouse stood up. As the waves moved towards the shore of the beach, the sounds of Wingull and Pelipper screeched in the air; flying above the water to try and catch some fish Pokémon to eat. They flew away from the area and then went over to the top of the Lighthouse to perch on the railings and rest their tired wings. As they rested, they heard the sound of crackling electricity inside the Lighthouse; causing them to screech and fly away in fear. As they flew away from the area, a pair of green eyes began to glow in the darkness of the room; lightly surrounded by green electricity as it sat on the floor in a dark corner in the top of the room. It growled to itself and clutched its hands into fists angrily; preparing for anyone that will invade its territory.
Its eyes moved slowly as it looked around the area, and then heard a door begin to open. It slowly stood up as the door opened, and saw a group of Trainers walk inside. Once it saw the Trainers, it hid itself deeper in the shadows of the room, and was prepared to strike. "Yo, Damian? Are you sure that thing is still in here?" said one Trainer. "I'm sure he is. After all, I'm the one who left him here. Knowing him, he's still a weak Electabuzz that couldn't defeat Lt. Surge." Damian replied. "Whoa... seriously?" another Trainer replied. "Yeah. I trained him vigorously for that match, and I still ended up losing against him multiple times. So I took him here to this Lighthouse and released him here; lying to him saying I would come back for him." Damian replied. He and his group searched the area for a moment, and then Damian smirked. "Heh. Looks like he's still waiting for me. Pathetic. Just like always. He always gave me bad luck everytime we went into battle after battle. Well too bad. Because I got his perfect replacement that will do the job better than he ever could. Come on, boys, let's wait outside and once our teams are ready, we'll barge right back in and fight him." he said. "Yeah!" his group replied.
After that, he and his group left the room and the Lighthouse. After hearing them leave, the lone Pokémon came out of the shadows and revealed itself to be an Electivire. His green eyes burned with anger as he clutched his fists; making green electricity spark from them and the tips of his tails. "Elect-ivire..." he growled to himself.
Vermilion Beach
The sounds of people and Pokémon playing on the beach echoed in the air. Whether it was playing in the sand or water, everyone was having a good time. As some people and Pokémon walked around, Pat and Sora were building a sand castle together with Munchlax and Ivysaur, Zach was swimming with Wartortle, and both Zuzu and Celina were laying on their towels; tanning under the sunlight. "Ah. This is the life." said Zuzu. "You said it. I haven't gotten the chance to relax like this before the school year started. I can get used to this." Celina replied. "Same here. I haven't been able to relax like this since I started my Contest journey. I was always so focused on training and preparations that I never thought of kicking back and relaxing for a bit." Zuzu replied. "Really?" Celina replied curiously. "Mhm." Zuzu replied as she nodded her head yes to her question.
Celina looked at her silently, and then both she and Zuzu heard a blast of water hit something. "Huh?" she said curiously. They turned to Pat and Sora; seeing them shake their heads for a moment. "Geez... Zach? Why did you have to do that?" said Pat in a irritated tone. "Because I saw how you two were looking at them. They just want to relax under the sun and get a tan for a bit. And they don't want to be interrupted by pervy guys looking at them. So give them their space." Zach replied as he walked upto them with Wartortle. "Thanks, Zach." Zuzu replied as they watched Zach sit on his towel. "No problem." he replied as he turned to them and lightly smiled; making them do the same. "Hey? Where's Tay? Wasn't she with us a while ago?" Sora replied. "Yeah..? Where did she go? I was just going to thank her for letting us stay in her family's beach house while we're here." Pat replied. "I know where she is. She went over to those rocks over there with her team to relax and think about her battle with Lt. Surge." Zuzu replied as she pointed to her left.
On the Beach Rocks
I sat down with my team silently with my team; listening to the waves hitting the rocks. As the waves hit the rocks, I closed my eyes and began to remember the times my family and I would come here every summer. When I come to this beach with my family every year, I always go to these rocks to look out to the ocean whether I am overwhelmed by the sounds of everyone at the beach, or to go with Red and practice surfing with his Lapras and Blastoise together. To us, this was one of the ways we would bond together. Mom would always be scared for us when we would come to these rocks all the time because of how slippery they were and how easy you can get cuts, scrapes, and bruises on ourselves when we are not careful. Sure, we were reckless a few times, but were excited to come over to this part of the beach together, practice surfing, and finding seashells for Mom to add to her collection at both our main home and our beach home to make her smile. After we spend enough time on the beach, we head back to the beach house, clean ourselves up, and then have dinner together.
During some summer holidays and festivals, we would watch fireworks from our patio looking out to the beach. I can't tell you how many times I watched those fireworks go off and make me smile as they lit up the night sky. I smiled at the memories, opened up my eyes, and then saw my team having fun together and keeping watch of each other in case they fall and get scrapes and bruises on themselves. "Hey! Taylor!" said a voice. I turned to my right, and saw my group wave at me with all their beach stuff packed up. "Hey! You guys done with the beach already?" I said as I stood up. "Yeah. Just for today." Celina replied. I nodded my head in understanding, and then whistled to my team; letting them know it's time to go. They made sad sounds, and then went over to my side. Tsunami gently let me get onto his head, and swam over to the sand; making sure that I don't get hurt. I jumped down to the sand and walked upto them. "You guys hungry or anything?" I asked them. "Yeah. We're starving. What'chu got in mind for lunch?" Zach replied. "I got just the thing." I replied. After that, we returned our teams to their Balls, and then went back to my beach house.
Taylor's Family Beach House
We got ourselves cleaned up from the sand and saltwater with both indoor and outdoor showers, cleaned up our sandals, did our laundry, got changed into comfortable summer clothes, and then sat down at the patio table. "Here you go. Fresh out of the oven Beach Pizza, Fresh fruits, Salads, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Deli Sandwiches, and Fresh Corphish and Krabby meat from the seafood deli." I said. "Whoa... they look delicious..." Pat replied. "Yeah... thank you, Tay!" Sora replied happily. "No problem, guys." I replied happily. We picked out the things that we wanted to eat, and began to eat together. "Oh, wow. You're weren't kidding about the Corphish and Krabby meat being fresh! This is delicious!" said Celina surprised. "I know right! This is the best seafood I think I ever had! Tay? What seafood deli do you and your family go to?" Zach replied. "That restaurant right over there with the docks. They are the best seafood place in the region. Not only do they serve this stuff, they teach kids about the Pokémon that live in the ocean and how they play a role in the world's ecosystem than just eating or training them." I replied.
"That's amazing! They must be very cool people that can do that." Zuzu replied. "Mhm." I replied happily. As we ate, we turned to our teams and saw them eat happily. "Hey, Tay? Is it okay for them to eat the seafood?" Pat asked me. "Yeah. It's okay. I wouldn't recommend spoiling them with the seafood though." I replied. "Ah... I getcha. You wanna make sure they eat a healthy diet and not eat too much meat?" Zuzu replied. "Mhm. And after they eat and relax, you all can give them these for their breath in case you don't like the smell of their food in their mouths." I replied as I took out some clean breath supplements. "Nice! Thank you, Tay." Zuzu replied happily. "Yeah! Thank you, Tay for everything here today!" Celina replied happily. "You're welcome." I replied happily. "Tay? Would it be okay to ask your Mom if we can come here next summer with you?" Zach replied. "Hm? You mean like... everyone in our group?" I replied. He nodded his head yes to my question. "Yeah! This could be our summer hang out spot from now on! We've got the beach, the mall, the arcade, the gyms, and here to relax and have fun; especially if we get bored when being at home!" Zuzu replied.
I thought about it for a moment, and then smiled at them. "Sure! I wouldn't mind you guys coming here every summer!" I replied. "Alright!" they cheered happily. I smiled happily at them, and then we continued to have lunch together. About 30 minutes later, we finished lunch and we were ready to explore the city together. "So? Where do you guys want to go first?" said Zach. "I'd say the Contest Hall first. That way we know how to get there before it starts." I replied. "Yeah! That's a great idea! What do you say, Zuzu? You wanna check it out and see if it's a good walking distance from here?" Celina replied. "Sure! That sounds great!" Zuzu replied. "Alright! Let's get moving!" Celina replied. After that, we left the beach house and went to find the Contest Stadium.
Vermilion Contest Stadium
After walking for three minutes, we found the Contest Stadium for the first time. "Whoa..." said Pat and Sora in awe. "There it is... Vermilion Contest Stadium." Zuzu replied. "Pi-ka..." her Pikachu replied in awe. "Vul!" Vulpix replied happily. We smiled happily, and then went inside the stadium. We took a good look at the reception area for a moment, got Zuzu signed up for the Contest, and then went inside the main hall; seeing the performance floor for the first time. "Wow... so this is what the Contest floor looks like in person..." said Zach. "Mhm. Pretty sweet, right?" Zuzu replied. "Yeah. It's really sweet." he replied. She smiled happily at him, and then we all went down to the floor together. "Hey, Zuzu? Do you know how many rounds are going to be in this Contest?" Celina asked. "Hm..? I think it's maybe 4 rounds. First is the Preliminary Round. That round introduces the Performers and the Judges choose who moves on based on their introduction style and crowd reception. Once you pass that round, you move onto the next round and prove your skills as both a Trainer and Performer. Same for the next two rounds if you advance. If you win the fourth round, you will win the Contest Ribbon of the city or town you're in." Zuzu replied.
"Really? It's that easy?" Pat replied. "Nope. It's not that easy." replied a voice. We turned around, and saw three people that we recognized walk in for the first time. "Aura! Gong! Reed! What are you three doing here?" said Zuzu. "Same thing you and your friends are doing. We're checking out the performance hall ourselves." Gong replied. "Plus. I want to see how many seats are in here that are going to be filled with people cheering for me." Aura replied. "For you? Oh. boy... Aura... you are at it again..." Reed replied. "Don't be surprised, Reed. That's how she's always been." replied a voice. "Huh?" Zuzu replied. "Now who?" Celina replied as we all turned to the curtains, and saw Sylvio appear. "Sylvio!?" said Zach surprised. "Hmph. So you're performing too, eh Sylvio?" Aura replied. "Of course. If there is anyone who is going to defeat Yuya in a Contest, it's going to be me." he replied. "Heh? You? Gong don't think so. The only one who will win against Yuya is none other than Gong!" Gong replied.
"What!? Preposterous! You two will get fried by his Charizard and Flygon if you go against him!" Aura replied. They stared at each other intensely; making us and Reed smile awkwardly at each other. "Alright, kids! That's enough! I can sense the heat of battle burning up in here!" said a voice. We turned to the seats, and then saw four adults looking at us. "Mom!? Dad!?" said Zuzu surprised. "Mr. Sakaki!" the rest of us replied surprised. "Zuzu!" Mr. Boyle replied happily as she ran upto him and his wife. They shared a hug and then she led them to the stage. "I've missed you both so much!" said Zuzu to her parents. "And we missed you too, darling. How have you been?" Mrs. Boyle replied. "I've been great! I've been traveling with my friends, caught a couple new Pokémon, and have been having the best time of my life!" Zuzu replied happily. "That's wonderful! I'm happy that you have been on a fun journey!" she replied. She then saw us for the first time. "Oh, my! Look at you kids! You've grown up so beautifully!" she said to me, Zach, Pat, and Celina. "Thank you, Mrs. Boyle." the four of us replied.
"You said it, honey! They look like that they have become powerful Trainers in their own right!" Mr. Boyle replied. "Thank you, Mr. Boyle." Zach replied. We smiled at them happily, and then turned to Mr. and Mrs. Sakaki. "So? How have you kids been on your journey?" Mrs. Sakaki asked us. "We've been great! Zuzu's been preparing for the Contest, and Taylor has won two Gym Badges!" Pat replied. "You have? Congratulations, Taylor." she replied. "Thank you." I replied. "Hey..? When did you get a scar on your face?" Mr. Sakaki asked me. After he said that; Gong, Aura, Reed, and Sylvio looked at me and saw my scar for the first time. "Oh? This? I got it from a little battle accident." I replied. "An accident? Are you sure?" he replied.
"Mhm. It's fine. I can still see perfectly fine from my left eye." I replied. "Ha ha! That's Taylor for ya! She's one tough kid that won't fall and let an injury take her down like a Hitmonchan in a boxing match!" Mr. Boyle replied. "Hehe... thanks." I replied sheepishly. "Anyways... Zuzu? Did you just sign up for the Contest?" Mrs. Boyle replied. "Yep! I sure did. And I'm going to win it all with my three Pokémon!" Zuzu replied happily. "Vul-pix!" Vulpix replied. "Pika-chu!" her Pikachu replied. "Three, eh? Where is the third one?" she replied. "Right here! Come on out, Milotic!" Zuzu replied as she threw up Milotic's PokéBall in the air. It opened and Milotic appeared, let out a happy sound, and sparkled for a couple seconds. "What!?" said Aura, Reed, and Sylvio in shocked and surprised tones. "Oh, my... Zuzu... she's beautiful..." Mrs. Boyle replied.
"Hehe. Yep. She sure is. Right, Milotic?" Zuzu replied. Milotic made another happy sound and nodded her head in agreement to her Trainer. "Hey, Yusho? Where's your boy?" said Mr. Boyle. "Which one? There's five of them, Skip. Which one are you talking about?" Mr. Sakaki replied. "Your youngest one. Yuya? Is he going to be here for the Contest dinner tomorrow evening on the St. Anne?" Mr. Boyle replied. Once we heard Yuya's name, we turned to them instantly. "Yuya? Oh. He's on his way. From what he told us, he should be here tomorrow morning." Mr. Sakaki replied. "And he promised us that he will be on the ship for tomorrow's dinner." Mrs. Sakaki replied. "Wait..? What dinner?" Zuzu replied. "What? You weren't informed about it?" Aura replied. Zuzu shook her head no to her question. "It's a special occasion that happens every time a Contest happens in Vermilion City. A couple days before the Contest starts, the staff invites all the participating Coordinators on board the S.S. Anne and treat them to a fancy dinner; making them feel welcomed in the city." Aura replied.
"Wow. That's sounds cool." Sora replied. "It does. As a matter of fact. Zuzu, Aura, Gong, Reed, Sylvio. As the main judge of the Vermilion Contest, I hereby present you tickets to the Contest dinner on the S.S. Anne." Mr. Sakaki replied as he handed them their tickets. Zuzu smiled at the ticket in her hands, and then bowed to Mr. Sakaki in thanks. "Thank you, Mr. Sakaki." she said. "You're welcome, Zuzu." he replied with a warm smile. Zuzu lifted herself back up and showed the ticket to us. "Whoa... that's a pretty big ship." said Pat. "It sure is. Girl. You and the others are so lucky. That ship is mostly filled with rich people." Celina replied. "They ain't the only lucky ones that are going on that ship." Mr. Boyle replied. "Huh? What do you mean by that, Dad?" Zuzu replied. "Well... we never usually do this kind of thing, but we did some talking with the staff, and told them about your little group." he replied. "Huh!?" we replied in shock.
"Yes. We talked about you kids for quite a bit, and they decided that you all are invited to this dinner as well." Mrs. Boyle replied. "Really!?" Zach replied. The four adults nodded their heads yes to us, and we celebrated happily. "But... you all will be at a separate table. And if both Yuya and Zuzu get a little uncomfortable when sitting with the other Coordinators, they can join your table and have fun with you." Mr. Sakaki replied. "Okay. Sounds good to me." I replied. "That's great." he replied. After that, the group went with Gong and the others backstage to check out the dressing rooms and outfits. As I tried to follow them, Mr. Sakaki put his hand on my shoulder and stopped me in my tracks. "Hold on there." he said. "Hm?" I replied curiously. "Taylor. I see that you have accepted our request?" Mrs. Sakaki replied. "Huh? What request?" Mr. Boyle replied curiously. "The request to perform in the Contest? Yes. I have accepted it." I replied. "What!? No way! Yusho! Are you serious!? She's actually going to do it!?" Mr. Boyle replied in shock. "Yes. This is something that we had asked her to do if she wanted too." Mr. Sakaki replied. "And when we were writing the letter and mentioned both Yuya and Zuzu in it, we had a feeling this was an offer that she couldn't refuse." Mrs. Sakaki replied.
"It's true. When I received a package from them containing a letter and a special costume, I knew that this was a very special request. I thought about it as I read the letter, and then thought of both Yuya and Zuzu as memories of their performances played in my head. After thinking hard enough on it, I sent them an e-mail and accepted their request." I replied. "That's amazing! Oh! My little Zuzu will be so happy when she sees you performing on that stage!" Mrs. Boyle replied. "Same with our Yuya. Ever since he saw her Pokémon in some pictures he got from Zuzu, he kept talking about how cool it would be to see Taylor and her Pokémon performing in a Contest." Mrs. Sakaki replied. "But. In order for her to perform without them and their friends knowing about it, we made her a costume to disguise herself in and take on a secret identity for the entire event." Mr. Sakaki replied. "A secret identity?" Mrs. Boyle replied curiously.
"Ah... I get it now. You want her to take on a different name that way they don't know it's her? That way, they can slowly figure out its her based on her battle style?" Mr. Boyle replied. Mr. and Mrs. Sakaki nodded their heads yes to his response. "Ah ha! I knew it! Now I'm fired up!" he said happily. "And what is the name of this identity?" Mrs. Boyle replied. "Aaron." I replied. "Aaron, huh? Does he have a backstory?" she replied. "Mhm. Aaron is a descendant of a Aura Knight from the Sinnoh region." I replied. "I see. Does her mother know about this?" she replied. "She does. And she will be coming here to see it." Mrs. Sakaki replied. "Excellent! Well then. Taylor... excuse me... Aaron. I wish you luck in the Contest. Just make sure to do your best and make sure to surprise Zuzu and Yuya with your mystical performance." she replied. "Thank you, Mrs. Boyle. I'll do my best." I replied. "Now that's the spirit! Taylor! When you perform on that stage, make sure to give it your all and wow the crowd with your skills and talent!" Mr. Boyle replied. "Thank you, Mr. Boyle. I'll make sure to give it my all!" I replied.
"Tay!" said a voice. "Hm?" I replied curiously as we turned to the curtains; seeing the group run over to us. "There you are! What are you doing standing around here?" Zuzu asked me. "Nothing. Just talking to them about what Contests are like in person." I replied. "Ah." she replied. After that, we said our goodbyes to everyone in the stadium, and then left the area; heading back to my family beach house.
Taylor's Family Beach House
"Ah. Finally. Time to relax." said Pat as he sat down on the couch outside on the patio. "Yeah. Now that we found the Contest stadium, got Zuzu signed up before everyone else... we are ready to go when it starts!" Sora replied. "Mhm. Which means we get to kick back, relax, and maybe have a few battles before we leave the city." Zach replied. "Yeah. Hey? Where are the girls?" Pat replied. "They're down at the pool." Zach replied. The three boys stood up, looked down the railing, and saw us relaxing by the poolside. "Ah. There they are." said Sora. "Yep. From the way they are relaxing on the chairs, trying to get a little tan... it just proves today is going to be a day to kick back and get settled with the area for a while." Pat replied. Zach and Sora nodded their heads in agreement, and then they walked down the stairs and joined us by the poolside.
"There you guys are. I'd thought you were going to take a nap inside?" said Celina. "We thought about it... but we don't know where the bedrooms are." Zach replied as he and the boys sat down on the grass. "I'll show you around the house fully after we're done here." I replied. "Thanks, Tay." he replied. I nodded my head to him, and then all of a sudden, we heard the sound of a Electric-type attack on the beach! "Huh!? What was that!?" said Zuzu surprised as we jumped up onto our feet. "I don't know? But it sounded like it came from over there." Pat replied as he pointed to our right. We turned to the right, and saw a few lightning bolts spark up in the air; making electricity spark out of Tetrax and Zuzu's Pikachu's cheeks. "What the? Who would want to have a battle on the beach?" said Sora. "I don't know? Let's go check it out." I replied. "Right!" the group replied. We put on our sandals and went over to the sight of the battle; wanting to see what was going on.
Vermilion Beach
"Machoke! Use Bullet Punch!" said one Trainer. "Machoke! Ma-choke-choke-choke-choke-choke-choke! Ma-choke!" Machoke replied as it used Bullet Punch on its opponent. After the attack ended, the Pokémon took a couple steps back and shook off the pain. "El-ect... Elect-a-buzz!" the second Pokémon replied as it sparked electricity from its body. After Electabuzz finished its cry, we gently pushed through the crowd, and saw the two Trainers battling for the first time. "Man! That was some powerful defense!" said one Trainer. "I know right!" another Trainer replied. "That's Lt. Surge for ya. He always knows to wear down his opponents and end the battle with his Pokémon's most powerful attacks." another Trainer replied. After hearing them say that, I looked at the field, and saw Lt. Surge with his Raichu and Electabuzz for the first time. "There he is." I said. "Huh? Who are you talking about?" Zach replied. "Right there. That's Lt. Surge." I replied. "What!?" the group replied surprised. "No... way... what's he doing out here? I thought he would be at his Gym?" Celina replied. "I guess he's taking a break?" Pat replied. "Maybe?" Celina replied curiously.
"Alright, Electabuzz! Strike 'em down with your Thunder!" said Lt. Surge. "Bu! El-ect-a-buzz!" Electabuzz replied as it used Thunder on Machoke; shocking and damaging it. "Ma-choke!" cried Machoke. "Ah! Machoke!" the first Trainer replied worriedly. "Ma-choke... Ma-choke..." Machoke replied as it stepped back in pain, began to feel woozy, and then fell down onto the sand. "Machoke is unable to battle! Electabuzz is the winner! That means the victor is Lt. Surge!" said a random Trainer. Machoke was returned to its PokéBall, and its Trainer looked down at it with a soft smile. "You were awesome out there, Machoke. Thank you." he said. "Hey, kid. Your Machoke has got some serious skill." Lt. Surge replied. "Thank you, Lt. Surge." the Trainer replied as he shook hands with him. "No problem. Just keep up on your training, and one day your Machoke might be as strong as my Electabuzz." Lt. Surge replied. "Elect-abuzz!" Electabuzz replied. The crowd applauded them on the battle for a moment, and then began to walk back to their spots on the beach.
After the crowd dispersed, Lt. Surge's Raichu's ears began to twitch. "Rai? Rai-Rai?" he said curiously. "Hm? Something wrong, Raichu?" Lt. Surge asked him. Raichu looked around as the crowd moved, and then saw me through the crowd for the first time. "Rai! Rai-Rai!" he said happily as he jumped off his Trainer's shoulder, and ran over to me; jumping on me immediately and making me fall onto the sand. "Ah! Tay! Are you okay?" Zuzu asked me. I laughed happily as Raichu nuzzled me, and I gave him a couple pats and scratches behind his ears. "Haha! Hi, Raichu! How've you been?" I said happily. "Rai-Rai! Rai-chu!" he replied happily. "Pika-chu!" Tetrax replied happily. "Rai! Rai-Rai!" Raichu replied happily as he saw Tetrax, nuzzled him, and then began to play with him. Lt. Surge saw us for the first time, and smiled warmly.
He and Electabuzz walked over to us, and then Surge extended his hand to me. "Well, well. If it isn't my old friend, Taylor?" he said. "Hey, Lt." I replied. I took his hand, watched him help me stand up, and we did little salutes to each other. "It's good to see you, kid. What are you doing around here?" he asked me. "I've been traveling with my friends here and taking on the Gym Challenge." I replied. "The Gym Challenge? Man... you've really grown up into a Trainer that fast, didn't you?" he replied. "Yep. I sure have." I replied. "I see. I always knew that you had the spark of being a Trainer. It just had to light up in you eventually." he replied. I nodded my head in agreement, and then turned to the group. "Surge, these are my friends that have been on my journey with me: Zach, Pat, Zuzu, Celina, and Sora. Guys, this is Lt. Surge. A Army Veteran, and the Electric type Gym Leader of Vermilion City." I said. "Hello." Pat, Sora, and Zuzu replied. "Nice to meet you." Celina replied. "Nice to meet you too, kids." Surge replied. "Thank you for your service." Zach replied with a salute. "No problem. As she said, I'm the leader of this city's Gym. And these two are my strongest Pokémon: Raichu and Electabuzz." he replied with a salute.
"Elec!" said Electabuzz happily. "Hey, Electabuzz. I see you have grown stronger in battle." I replied. "El-ec." he replied with a nod of his head. We shared a fist bump together, and then both Tetrax and Surge's Raichu climbed up on my shoulders. "Heh. So that's why you quickly ran off, eh Raichu? You saw her through the crowd?" he said as he petted Raichu's head. "Rai-Rai!" he replied happily. "Aww~ Raichu must really like being around her." said Zuzu. "He sure does. My Raichu has been attached to her ever since we met her at our PTSD therapy session a few years ago." he replied. "Really? Was he trained to also be a therapy Pokémon?" Sora replied. "Yes, sir. He's been registered as a therapy Pokémon for over 10 years now." he replied. "Oh, wow. That's amazing! I never knew that there were specialized therapy Pokémon before." Sora replied.
Surge and I nodded our heads in agreement to his response. "Lt. Surge!" yelled a voice worriedly. We turned to where Surge was looking and saw a group of worried Trainers run upto us. "What's going on?" he asked them. "A group of Trainers are inside the Vermilion Lighthouse, and they are about to challenge the dangerous Pokémon inside it!" the lead Trainer replied. "What!?" we replied. "Yeah! It's true! They're about to challenge the Lightning Demon!" the lead Trainer replied. "The Lightning Demon!? Are those kids out of their minds!?" Surge replied. The Trainers nodded their heads yes to his question. "Okay. Raichu! Electabuzz!" he replied. "Rai!" Raichu replied. "Buzz!" Electabuzz replied. "We need to get to the Lighthouse immediately! Those kids have no idea how to battle that thing inside it!" he replied. "Rai-chu!" Raichu replied. "Elect-a-buzz!" Electabuzz replied. "Surge? Can we come with you? We won't fight the Demon." I replied. He nodded his head yes to my question, and then we all went running to the Lighthouse.
Vermilion Lighthouse
After about a five minute run, we made it to the Lighthouse. "Whoa... so this is what Lighthouses look like." said Sora. "Yep. Lighthouses serve a big purpose to all the sailors and mariners around the world. They serve to warn them of dangerous shallows and perilous rocky coasts, and they help guide vessels safely into and out of harbors." Lt. Surge replied. "And they are also viewed as symbols of hope and security. As beacons of light, they provide guidance for safe passage to sailors and not only protect their live, but the land nearby as well." I replied. "And they also help with aerial navigation." Lt. Surge replied. "Wow... that's awesome! Now I know the true purpose of Lighthouses when I saw them in movies!" Sora replied happily. We nodded our heads in agreement, and then stopped at the door; seeing it open.
"Rai..." Raichu growled as electricity sparked out of his cheeks. "Alright. You kids stay behind me, and do not let your Pokémon battle the Lightning Demon. Understand?" Lt. Surge replied as he turned to us. We nodded our heads yes to his response, and then went inside the Lighthouse. "So, Lt.? What's the story about this Lightning Demon?" Celina asked. "It all started a few years ago. Our Lighthouse keeper and his crewmates were on the night shift to keep the Lighthouse in top shape. While keeping an eye on the light during a stormy night, something grabbed him in the shadows and zapped him; leaving him nearly paralyzed. His crewmates tried to stop the creature, but it zapped them too. They got him out of there, healed him up, and then never returned to the Lighthouse ever again. Ever since then, we had to hire multiple people to take care of the place, and not disturb the Lightning Demon ever again. And some of them had to learn the lesson the hard way." Lt. Surge replied as we walked up the stairs.
"Whoa... that's dark." she replied. "It sure is." he replied. "Have you seen the creature before?" Zuzu replied. "I have. Once I heard the stories, I had to check it out for myself. When I made it to the top, I saw the creature for the first time when it battled another Trainer and their Pokémon. When it came out of the shadows, I saw that the creature was actually a Pokémon." he replied. "A Pokémon? Does it have a name?" she replied. "Yes. It's called: Electivire." he replied. "Electivire?" I replied. "Yep. Electivire is the evolved form of Electabuzz." Celina replied. "Really? Did you and Sora see students use one before?" I replied. "Yep. We've seen a couple of them before." she replied. "And they were strong! Their Thunder Punches were strong as lightning." Sora replied. "Wow. They must be really strong if they can have strength like that." Zach replied. "Mhm." Celina and Sora replied.
"Yeah. But... who would leave an Electivire here? You think it was owned by someone before it was left here?" Pat replied. "That's what I thought too, but that thing wouldn't let me get near it." Lt. Surge replied. "How come?" he replied. "Because it was angry. Angry at us for stepping into its territory." Surge replied. "Maybe because it's waiting for the one who abandoned it to come back for it?" he replied. "Maybe..." Surge replied. We continued the climb up, made it to the top, and then we saw a group of Trainers start running towards us. "Hey!" he yelled at the group; stopping and scaring them. "Ah! It's Lt. Surge!" one Trainer replied. "What the hell do you kids think you're doing up here!? Don't you understand how dangerous this place is!?" Surge replied. "It was his idea! We were just battling Damian's Pokémon he released here!" one Trainer replied nervously. "You idiot! You weren't supposed to tell him that!" Damian yelled.
"What? You mean to tell me all this time that the Lightning Demon was your Pokémon!?" Surge replied. "Yeah. Used to be my Pokémon. Ever since my Electabuzz lost to you multiple times, I released him here. He was nothing more than a weak Pokémon that couldn't defeat anyone if he could ever try." Damian replied. "What!?" we replied surprised and angry. "Yeah. Even with all the training that I put him through, he still never had the guts to defeat Lt. Surge and his Electabuzz. So I released him here, told him I would come back, left here, and haven't returned here for years, until today." he replied. I growled at him angrily for what he said about his former Pokémon, and then we all heard a big bang of electricity spark in the room. We all turned to the shadows, and then saw Electivire walk out of them for the first time. "E-lecti-vire..." he growled with a clutch of his fists. "What the? No... There's no way... he's still standing..?" Damian replied surprised.
"El-ect-i-vire!" Electivire replied as he used Iron Tail near us; trying to make us leave. "Vire!" he yelled. "Dude! He's really pissed off now!" said one of Damian's friends. "Yeah! Let's get out of here before we're cooked to a crisp!" another Trainer replied. After that, Damian and his friends ran away. "Hey! Get back here!" Surge yelled. He then chased after them; leaving us staring at Electivire. "Guys! Come on! We gotta go!" said Sora. "Hold on." I replied. "What!? Tay! We gotta go before we get hurt!" he replied. "Just look at him. He only attacked because those guys were attacking him. If we don't attack him... he won't do anything. Just let him calm down, and maybe we can reason with him." I replied. "Are you sure?" he replied. "I'm sure." I replied. I blinked my eyes, looked back at Electivire as he looked at me, and noticed how calm I was staring at him. We stared at each other silently, and then I saw him hold his shoulder in pain. Once I saw him in pain, I slowly took my bag off my back, took out a container of Sitrus berries, and began to slowly walk towards him. "Tay!? Are you crazy!?" said Celina worriedly. "No. I'm not. Just trust me on this one. Okay?" I replied. "Okay..." she replied. I nodded my head and slowly walked over to Electivire.
"Vire? Elec-tivire?" he said curiously. "It's alright. I'm not here to fight you. I just want to help you." I replied. I gently put the berries on the ground, and then we stared at each other silently again. "There you go. These are for you." I said. "Vire? Vire. Electivire?" he replied curiously and cautiously. "To help you feel better and stronger before you face him again if he comes back. If he sees you still hurt, he's going to beat you to a pulp." I replied. He blinked his eyes, and then nodded his head in understanding. I nodded my head to him, picked up the container, put it back in my bag, and then gave him back his territory. "So? You know that Trainer and his friends?" I asked him. "Vire." he replied as he nodded his head. "Was he treating you poorly when you were with him?" I replied as I sat down. He blinked his eyes, sat down, and then nodded his head yes to my question. "I see. Well, from what I saw and heard from him, it sounded like he treated you this badly because he never cared about anything except winning?" I replied. "Vire." he replied. "Hm. So he is an arrogant guy after all. He really only saw you as his powerhouse and only cared about winning. But... when you lost your battles... did he do... anything that harmed you?" I replied. He nodded his head yes to my question; shocking all of us.
I blinked my eyes, looked down to the floor, and then clutched my right hand into a fist. "Electivire... I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of this. That bastard of a former Trainer of yours should have never done such things to you that I could never understand. I may not truly know what kinds of pain and vigorous training that he made you go through before releasing you here, but there's something that you need to hear and know. It's not your fault." I replied. His eyes widened in surprise to my words; wondering why I am saying this to him. "It was never your fault. For all of this. You never did anything wrong. Not ever. The only one that should be blamed for all of this is your former Trainer. He never acknowledged on how you felt throughout your time with him. All you ever wanted to do was please him and make him proud, but his lack of compassion put you on the receiving end of dark punishment that you never deserved." I replied. Electivire was shocked and surprised of what I said, and then put his hand to his heart; beginning to realize that I was right for what I said. "No way... so it is true. About what those Trainers said when we found them up here." Sora replied. "But what would make that guy come back here if he lied to him about coming back for him?" Pat replied. "Guilty conscious maybe?" Zuzu replied.
Electivire watched me cautiously, and then saw me take off my glove and made my eyes glow; surprising him. "Vire?" he said curiously. "Heh. Cool, right? This is something that a special group of people can do." I replied. I then used Psychic to lift some small things up in the air and did a couple tricks with the items; making them spin and flip. "Elect? Electi-vire." he said calmly. "Whoa. I think he's impressed." said Celina. "Yeah." Zach replied. "But... why is she doing this?" she replied. "Maybe she's trying to see if he will let her heal him?" he replied. "Maybe? But the question is... will he let her?" she replied. "I don't know?" he replied. She blinked her eyes, and then looked back at me; seeing Electivire move one of his tails towards me. I stayed calm as the tail was near my face, and then he gently poked me with the tail; testing to see how I will react. "Check it out... he's not zapping her..." said Pat. "Because he doesn't see her as a threat. He must've read her energy when they first locked eyes or something?" Zach replied.
Before we could do anything, we heard a loud bang outside. "What was that!?" said Sora. "It came from outside! Come on! Let's go check it out!" Celina replied. "Right!" the group replied. "Tay! Let's go!" Zuzu replied. "Right!" I replied. I stood up, and ran over to the door. Before I left, I turned back to Electivire as he still stared at me. "Electivire? You stay here and rest your injury. I'll take care of your former Trainer. I'll show him in battle that what he did to you was wrong, and prove to him how much he is an arrogant coward that should've treated you with respect." I said. He looked at me silently, took my words to heart, and then nodded his head in thanks to me. I did the same, and then walked down the stairs silently, and went to reunite with everyone. As I left, Electivire picked up the Berries, tucked them in his fur, and thought about how kind and calm I was to him.
Outside the Lighthouse
I walked outside, and went over to my group. "There you are! Thank goodness! He didn't harm you." said Zuzu. "Yeah. He didn't attack me at all. He was more... curious of me more than anything." I replied. "What!? How!? How didn't that thing harm you!?" Damian replied as he overheard us. "Because I was kind to him. Unlike you who thinks of using Pokémon as power to get what you want while you hides your insecurities as a Trainer, and calls them weak and worthless because you didn't have the heart to become a Trainer in the first place." I replied sternly. Everyone was speechless of what I said, and looked at each other nervously. "Why you little!? That's it! Go, Magmar!" he yelled as he took out a PokéBall and threw it up in the air; making Magmar appear. "Mag-mar!" said Magmar. "Oh no..." said one of Damian's friends nervously. "Now the kid has done it..." another friend replied nervously.
"Magmar! Burn her to a crisp! Fire Blast!" Damian yelled. "Mar! Mag-mar!" Magmar replied as it used Fire Blast at me. As it came close, I summoned Onix from his PokéBall, and watched him block the attack. The smoke disappeared, and everyone saw my Onix stand in front of me. He roared to Magmar, and was ready to fight. "What!?" said Damian surprised. Onix growled, and I stared them down angrily. "You see, Damian? You just proved my entire point about you. The only reason why you kept losing is because you never fully believed in your Pokémon and underestimated your opponents. That's what happens when you let your emotions take over you when someone finally tells the truth about you." I replied. "That's not true! You're spitting out lies about me!" he replied. "Oh, really? If you want to prove yourself in front of all of us, then fight me." I replied.
"What!?" my group replied. "Taylor! What are you doing!? This isn't your fight!" Lt. Surge replied. "It is now. After the way he treated his Pokémon here, this is personal." I replied. "What?" he replied. "She's dealt with helping out an abandoned Pokémon before." Zach replied. "Huh? She did?" he replied. The group nodded their heads yes to his question, and then turned back to me. "So what's it going to be, Damian? Are you going to stand up and prove yourself, or are you going to accept the truth about yourself?" I said. He was stunned and furious of my words for a moment, and then got his composure back. "Fine. If it's a battle you want. It's a battle you will get." he said. "Good. And if I win, you leave Electivire alone and never return here." I replied. "Fine by me. And if I win, you will apologize and admit everything you just told about me was a lie." he replied. "Fine by me." I replied. After that, we moved away from our groups and prepared ourselves for battle.
"Ready?" he asked me. "Ready. I'm winning this one for Electivire." I replied. "Heh. Keep talking like that, cupcake. Talk like that's going to get you into to trouble." he replied. "Cupcake? Oh... now you're gonna get it." I replied. "Get what?" he replied. "You'll see." I replied. After I said that, Electivire looked out the windows of the Lighthouse and saw that I was going to fight Damian. His eyes widened in shock to see his former Trainer begin to fight, and he clutched his fists in anger. "Electi-vire..." he said to himself.
Battle! Taylor vs Damian!
"Magmar! Use Flamethrower!" said Damian. "Magmar! Mag-mar!" Magmar replied as it used the attack. "Dodge it!" I said. Onix roared and dodged the attack. "Now use Sandstorm!" I replied. He roared and summoned a sandstorm around us. Magmar and Damian blocked their eyes as grains of sand were blocking their eyes. They rubbed it off and saw Onix through the storm. "Magmar! Fire Punch!" said Damian. "Mar! Mag-mar!" Magmar replied as it used the attack; hitting Onix. Onix shrugged off the pain, and then smirked at Magmar. "Mar!?" said Magmar surprised. "What!? It's that powerful to withstand that!?" Damian replied. "Onix! Rock Polish!" I replied. Onix roared and used the attack; increasing his attack and speed. "Magmar! Fire Blast! Full power!" Damian replied. "Mag! Mag-mar!" Magmar replied as it used Fire Blast at it's full power. "Dig!" I replied. Onix roared, and dug his way underground; dodging the attack.
The Fire Blast broke through the sandstorm, went towards the beach, and exploded mid air. "What!? That giant rock snake dodged that!?" said one of Damian's friends. "Oh yeah! Let's go, Onix!" Sora replied. "She's got them in the bag!" Pat replied. Magmar looked around curiously to find Onix. After taking a couple steps, the sandstorm ended, and then the ground began to rumble. "Mar? Magmar?" said Magmar. "Ah! Magmar! Get out of there!" Damian replied. Magmar tried to run away, but Onix appeared from underground, and attacked Magmar with his boosted attack. "Magmar!" cried Magmar. "No! Magmar!" Damian replied worriedly. Magmar fell to the ground after being sent up in the air, slowly tried to stand up, and then fell down to the ground. "No! Magmar!" said Damian. "Magmar is unable to battle! Onix is the winner!" Lt. Surge replied.
"Alright!" my group cheered happily. Damian's group looked at me in disbelief, and then lowered their heads in defeat. Onix roared in victory, and then nuzzled me happily. "Great job, Onix. You were excellent." I said. He made a happy noise, and hugged me again; making me smile. Damian returned Magmar to its PokéBall, stared at me furiously, and then took out a metal pipe from the back of his shirt. "Why you!? You cheater!" he yelled charging at us. We all looked at him in shock; wondering why he would snap like this. "Vire!?" said Electivire in shock. He then stepped back, broke the glass with his fists, and then jumped down to the ground; standing in front of me. "What the!? Electivire!? What's he doing out here!?" said Zach. Electivire took the hit from the pipe, and then pushed Damian away. "You!? You're helping out the child!?" Damian yelled. "Vire!" Electivire replied. "Wait... why is he protecting her?" Zuzu asked. "I don't know..? Did she give him healing items or something to help him?" Celina replied. "Maybe?" Zuzu replied.
Damian stared at him furiously, and then hit him again with the pipe. "Damian! Stop! You're letting your anger control you!" I said. "Shut up! I am in complete control!" he replied. He hit Electivire again, and Electivire fell down to his knee injured. "Electivire!" I said worriedly. "Don't you worry, cupcake. Once I finish him... you're next." he replied. Electivire's eyes widened in shock to what he had said, and then began to remember his training days with Damian when he was an Electabuzz; hearing him speak the same way he just did.
Electivire's Flashback
"Pathetic! That was the weakest opponent you've ever faced! And you let him beat you in less than two minutes! That is completely inexcusable!" said Damian in a furious tone. "Buzz... Elect-a-buzz! Buzz-Buzz!" he pleaded. "No! That's it! I do not and will not accept any kind of failure! Do you understand me?" Damian replied. "Buzz-Buzz! Elect-abuzz! Buzz! Buzz!" he pleaded again with tears in his eyes. Damian stared at him angrily, and then kicked him down; injuring him. "Buzz! Buzz-Buzz! Elect-abuzz!" he cried. "Don't you worry. If you fail me one more time... you're next." Damian replied.
Back to Present Day
Damian raised the metal pipe up in the air, and begun his swing at him, but Electivire stopped him with one of his tails; stopping him in his tracks. Electivire slowly stood up, ripped the pipe from his hand, and threw it to the ground. Damian's anger then disappeared and saw the true anger in his former Pokémon's eyes; making him begin to fear for his life. "No... no, please! Stop! Stop it now! Please! I beg of you! Please! Look! I'm sorry that I released you! It was my fault! All my fault that I treated you so poorly! Please! Forgive me!" he pleaded. "He doesn't have too. Look at his eyes. You can see the anger that flows through them like a lightning storm. You betrayed him. You've hurt him in more ways than one. And now... he's going to make you pay for it." I replied. Electivire turned to me, nodded his head, turned back to his former Trainer, and then used Thunder on him; zapping him.
"Oh no! Damian!" said Damian's friends worriedly. After the attack ended, Electivire dropped Damian to the ground, and watched him slowly look up at him. "Vire..." he growled. Damian's eyes widened in fear, and he quickly stood up and tried to run away. "Not so fast, kid!" said Lt. Surge as he grabbed him. "H-huh!?" he replied worriedly. "You're not running away from this one. You, me, and your little buddies are going to have a long talk at the police station about your treatment towards Electivire." Surge replied. "What!? No! Please! Anything but that!" he pleaded. "Nope. You all are going to learn your lesson the hard way." Surge replied. "Wait? What about us?" Pat replied. "You kids keep your eyes on Electivire. Make sure it gets back upto his home safely." he replied. "Yes, sir." we replied. After that, Lt. Surge took Damian and his buddies away from the Lighthouse.
"Elect-i-vire." said Electivire as he fell to his knee in pain again. "Oh no!" Zuzu and Celina replied. I quickly went upto him, and then put his arm over my shoulders. "Zach! Help me out here!" I said. "Okay!" he replied. He ran over to me and put Electivire's other arm over his shoulders. "What are you two doing?" Pat asked us. "We're getting him to the Beach House." I replied. "Are you serious!? What if he does something?" he replied. "He won't. Look at him. Damian gave him a beating when he was protecting Taylor from him. I guess that this was Electivire's way of helping her out after she helped him." Zach replied. "Vire." Electivire replied as he nodded his head yes to his response. "Okay. Let's get him there. And once he feels good to walk on his own, we can take him back to the Lighthouse." said Pat. We nodded our heads in agreement, and went back to the Beach House together.
Beach House- Nighttime
"Hey. How's he doing?" Zuzu asked. "He's doing alright. Taylor has been down the garage healing his wounds and making sure he doesn't snap or anything." Zach replied. "Yeah. She hasn't been back up here ever since we brought him here. She must be really worried about him." Celina replied. "Well... when we had Nurse Joy come over to check on him, she confirmed that he doesn't have any broken bones or anything. He's just all bruised up from what Damian did to him." Zuzu replied. "Yeah... I wonder what did Damian exactly do to him that made him release him?" Zach replied. "I don't know... but if physical punishment was part of it... then Damian should have his Trainer license revoked." Zuzu replied. "I agree. No Trainer should have ever treated a Pokémon like that. People like that make me sick." Celina replied. Zach and Zuzu nodded their heads in agreement to her response, and then saw Pat and Sora walk down the stairs into the living room.
"Hey. She still down in the garage?" Pat asked them. "Yeah. She's still down there, and worried about him." Zach replied. They then looked down to the basement silently for a moment, and then walked down to the garage; seeing me healing Electivire and watching him rest. "Hey, Tay? How's he doing?" Zach asked me. "He's doing better. I gave him some Electric-type food and put some medicine in it a half hour ago, and now he's sleeping." I replied as he and the group sat down. "Did he zap you or anything when you gave him it?" Pat replied. "Nope. He was very gentle with me." I replied. "Gentle, huh? Maybe because he never saw a human be so kind to him before?" Zach replied. "Yeah. You know? It got me thinking on how Tay and Solar met for the first time, but this time... she didn't get attacked." Pat replied. "Yeah. It does feel like it too." he replied. We nodded our heads in agreement, and then we began to hear rain fall outside. "What the? It's raining." said Zuzu. "I guess rain was on the weather report for tonight?" I replied.
"Yeah..." she replied. After that, we turned back to Electivire and watched him rest for a little while. An hour later, the group went to bed while I stayed by Electivire's side to make sure his injuries and wounds are healing properly. As I watched him for a few more minutes, I then started to fall asleep for the night. I layed down on the floor and went into a deep sleep. As I slept, my team looked over at Electivire and saw him wake up on his own. He blinked his eyes, rubbed them, and then slowly sat up; seeing me asleep for the first time. "Vire?" he said softly in a confused tone. He slowly leaned over and gently poked me; wondering if I would wake up. "She's sound asleep. Not even a jolt would wake her up right now." said a voice. "Hm?" Electivire replied. He turned to the garage door and saw my team looking at him. "Who are all of you?" he asked them.
"I'm Tetrax. And these are my brothers: Dragonfire and Aurasoul." Tetrax replied. "Heya." Dragonfire replied. "Hello." Aurasoul replied. "I'm Hurricane. This is Nidorino, Sandshrew, Abra, Nova, Clefairy, Solar, Hydro, Horsea, Meowth, Growlithe, Butterfree, Beedrill, and Ekans." Hurricane replied. "Nice to meet ya." Nidorino replied. "Likewise." Electivire replied. "I'm Onix. And this is Tsunami." Onix replied. "Greetings." Tsunami replied. "Are you all... her partners?" Electivire asked them. "Yep. We sure are." Hydro replied. "Me, Tetrax, and Aurasoul have been her partners for five years. She's raised us ever since we were Eggs." Dragonfire replied. "She has? Wow... you three must've been very lucky Pokémon to be chosen by her." Electivire replied. "Mhm. Let's just say that we had a special connection with her since the very beginning." he replied. "How? If I may ask?" Electivire replied curiously. Tetrax walked over to me and removed my glove gently with his teeth. "By this. You remember seeing this on her glowing with her eyes, right?" Tetrax asked him.
"I do. I've never seen a human do something like that before. How can she do it?" he replied. "It's because she comes from a Legendary bloodline. A special human bloodline called: Guardians." Tetrax replied. "Guardians? Who are they?" he replied. "They are a special line of humans chosen by Arceus to protect the world and Pokémon from chaos and disasters." Aurasoul replied. "I see... but why did Arceus create this special bloodline?" he replied. "To teach humans and Pokémon how to live alongside one another, and help each other out in situations that they cannot handle alone." Dragonfire replied. "Not only that, Arceus also blessed the Guardian bloodline to use the same attacks as we do in battle." Abra replied. "Really? Have you seen her use some of our attacks before?" he replied. "Yep. She's only used them in certain situations though." Solar replied. "Like when she saved Cerulean City alongside another Guardian." Hydro replied.
"Really?" he replied. "It's true. A group of evil humans who call themselves: Team Rocket, used a sound frequency device to force my friends back in the Aquarium to evolve, and they quickly went into a violent rage. I escaped before the frequency could reach me, escaped to the rive, evolved myself when I saw her and Hydro getting ambushed, and I saved their lives. After I got them out of the water, I joined forces with most of the team here and took down my friends; stopping the rampage." Tsunami replied. "It's true." Onix replied. Electivire was amazed of what they had to say, and then they all began to hear the sound of thunder in the sky. "What was that?" said Beedrill. "It's a thunderstorm." Butterfree replied. "But why now? I thought the weatherperson said a thunderstorm wasn't supposed to happen tonight?" Growlithe replied. "Meteorologists are not always 100% correct. Weather can change in a snap depending what's going on in the air." Meowth replied.
Electivire stood up silently, walked outside, and saw lightning flash and crack in the sky. Once the lightning flashed, his and Tetrax's electricity began to spark a bit. "Whoa... check it out. They have the same color for their electricity..." said Nidorino. "Yeah... how is that possible?" Sandshrew replied. Before anyone could answer, thunder clapped in the sky again, and this time... they all heard a cry in the sky. "What the? Who made that sound?" said Electivire. "I don't know... but whatever it was... it has a strong electric power connected to it." Tetrax replied. "Tetrax? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Electivire replied. "Summoning it here? Yeah. I was thinking the same thing." Tetrax replied. "What!? Are you two out of your minds!? What if it attacks you!?" Nova replied worriedly. "No need to worry, Nova. I'll protect them if that happens." Onix replied. Nova breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Onix." she said. Onix nodded his head, and they all looked up at the sky.
"So? How are you two going to summon it?" Tsunami asked. "Simple. We all go to the beach, and summon it there by firing our electricity to the sky; making it come to us there." Electivire replied. "That way it won't damage the powerlines or cause a power surge if it landed here in the yard." Tetrax replied. My team nodded their heads in understanding, and then left the house on their own, and went to the beach.
Vermilion Beach
They stood on the beach as the rain poured, and looked upto the sky. Some of my small Pokémon wore raincoats to keep themselves dry as the wind began to pick up. As they looked up, Tetrax and Electivire walked on the sand for a couple seconds, got into position, looked at each other, nodded their heads, and then used Thunderbolt and Thunder up at the sky. After the bolts of lightning went through the clouds, another lightning bolt came down from the clouds and hit the both of them. They absorbed the electricity from it, and then they all heard a screech in the sky. "Look! Up there!" said Nova as she pointed to the sky. Claps of thunder echoed in the sky, and then they all saw something fly down from the clouds and unveiled itself from the rain and electricity. "No way... is that..?" said Electivire in a soft, shocked tone. "Zapdos..." Tetrax, Dragonfire, and Aurasoul replied in soft, surprised tones.
Zapdos looked down at everyone as it flapped its wings in the air, and then flew over to them. A moment later, Zapdos flew down and gently landed on the sand in front of everyone. As it looked at them, lightning crackled and flashed in the sky while the sounds of thunder echoed in the sky. "Whoa... it is Zapdos..." said Horsea. "I knew it. I knew the legends were real." Clefairy replied. Zapdos blinked its eyes, and then looked at Tetrax and Electivire. "You two. Are you the ones who called upon me?" it said. "Yes, Zapdos. We are the ones that called you." Electivire replied. "Hm? Ah. It's you. I haven't seen you since you were an Electabuzz when you were in that Lighthouse." it replied. "Huh!? You know of me!?" he replied surprised. "Of course. I've been watching over you everytime you were recharging your power after fighting many humans that got into your territory." it replied. Electivire was completely stunned to see and hear that the Legendary Zapdos had been watching over him all this time.
"And you. You're one of the three Pokémon owned by the Guardian me and my comrades had rescued, correct?" it said. "That is correct." Tetrax replied. "What!? You know her too!?" Electivire replied surprised. Zapdos nodded its head yes to his response. "I do. I first met her when me and my comrades rescued her from Team Rocket in Celadon City five years ago. Those people kidnapped and experimented on her; giving her psychological trauma that is unimaginable to any human on the planet. The experiments that they done to her were completely inhumane, and they were willing to leave her and let her die because of how cruel they were. It sickened us to our cores, and made us despise humans for quite sometime. But once we heard that she had become a Trainer herself, we decided to leave our homes at certain times of the day and night to try and find her; seeing how strong she has become." it replied.
"Really? You've known how strong she was?" Electivire replied. "Of course. Us Legendary and Mythical Pokémon know how strong the Guardian bloodline is. They are the only bloodline of humans that we truly respect and fight alongside with." it replied. "Because you all can put your differences aside and see eye to eye with them in certain situations." Tetrax replied. Zapdos nodded its head again, and then stared at Electivire. "Electivire? How did you find them?" it asked. "These guys? Well... I saw one of them inside the Lighthouse after I was injured in battle. And their Trainer gave me some items to heal, and told me how she felt about what my former master did to me." he replied. "Your former master? The one who physically abused you and forced you to go through vigorous training in order for him to win and get everything he desires?" it replied.
My team's eyes widened in shock to what Zapdos had said, and began to wonder if it has heard Electivire's pain this entire time. Electivire blinked his eyes, and then nodded his head yes to its question. "And how long have you been suppressing this trauma of his betrayal to you and caused you earn the name the Lightning Demon in the Lighthouse?" Zapdos replied. "...A few years now..." he replied. "A few years, you say? I see. When he left you here because of his failures... deep down inside yourself within the mix of emotions you felt... did you feel a tiny sense of relief that you weren't under his control anymore?" it replied. Electivire's eyes widened in shock to this question, and then had flashbacks of his outbursts in the Lighthouse and his time with Damian. After that, he had flashbacks of me meeting him, giving him the Sitrus berries to help him heal, and what I said to him about Damian. The flashbacks ended, and tears formed in his eyes.
He wiped them off as they still fell, and then he looked at Zapdos as it watched him cry. "Yes... for the first time on my life... I actually feel relieved. At first, I didn't know how it would feel... but then when their Trainer stood up for me, told me the truth of my former master, and then I saved her life from him after she defeated him in battle... I felt relieved. It felt like I finally had the courage and power to stand up against him and make him pay for what he had done to me. Once I zapped him, I felt my soul finally release all the anger, sadness, and bitterness lift off of it." he said. My team was amazed of his words and how he felt to finally be free from Damian's control and then finally get his revenge on him; making some of them tear up. Zapdos took his words to heart, smiled, and nodded his head to him. "Electivire. That must've been a powerful thing to say now after what you have went through. I hope that now you have somewhat found your inner peace from that situation. And I hope that someday that you will find a Trainer that will treat you with love, honor, and respect." it said.
Electivire lightly smiled, and nodded his head in thanks to him; making Zapdos do the same. "Hey, Electivire? Why don't you come along with us?" Tetrax asked him. "Huh!? Are you serious? You... you want me to join you?" he replied. "Of course. It would be an honor if you joined us and be a part of our family." Tetrax replied. "Yeah! Plus, it would be better than spending the rest of your life all alone inside the Lighthouse. With us, we will help you overcome your trauma and become the strongest Electivire in the world!" Dragonfire replied. Electivire blinked his eyes, turned to my team, saw them smile and nod their heads to him; agreeing with Tetrax's idea. "He's right. Working alongside the Guardian would be a great option for you. I think you and her would be a powerful team together." said Zapdos.
Electivire took the words to heart, thought about it for a moment, and then nodded his head to the idea. "You know what... you all might be right. Alright. I'll join you." he said. My team smiled happily to his words, and then they all felt the rain stop falling onto them. They all looked upto the sky and saw the thunderclouds fade away and showed the sun begin to rise in the sky. "Wow... look at that..." said Hydro. "Yeah... the sunrise over the ocean... it's beautiful." Horsea replied. They all smiled at the sight, and then Zapdos jumped up in the air; ready to fly away. "Zapdos! Wait!" said Electivire. "Hm?" Zapdos replied. "Thank you. Thank you for helping me discover a part of myself that I never thought I would find." he replied. Zapdos smiled, nodded its head, and then flew away from everyone. They said their goodbyes to Zapdos, and then they heard a whistle from behind them. "Huh? What was that?" said Electivire as they all turned around.
As they turned around, they saw Lt. Surge's Raichu and Electabuzz for the first time. "It's Surge's Raichu and Electabuzz!" said Tetrax. "What are they doing here this early in the morning?" Solar replied. "Maybe they were on a run with Lt. Surge?" Hydro replied curiously as Raichu and Electabuzz ran over to them. "Hey, guys. What are you all doing out here?" Raichu asked. "Here? Oh. We were just having a chat with Electivire." Tetrax replied. "You have, huh? How's he feeling?" Raichu replied. "Take a look for yourself." Electivire replied. "Oh, wow! You healed fast! Man... I guess that medicine they gave you really helped, huh?" Raichu replied. "Yeah. It sure was." he replied as he flexed his muscles. "Oh, yeah? Well then let's see how you've healed in a battle." Electabuzz replied; shocking everyone.
"Electabuzz!? Are you serious about this?" Raichu asked him. "Yeah. I'm serious. After hearing the stories of the Lightning Demon, and how powerful his moves were... I always wanted to face him." he replied. "I know that, but... what if he's not comfortable with fighting right now? Who knows how strong that medicine was to heal him?" Raichu replied. "That's up to him if he wants to fight me. We can settle this challenge right here on the beach, or in the Vermilion City Gym. That is... if he is truly ready to face me again?" he replied. Everyone was shocked to what he had said, and then Electivire clutched his hands into fists. They then stared down each other intensely, and then they all heard two whistles in the air. They stopped the stare down, and then saw me and Lt. Surge run upto them. "Buzz!?" said Electabuzz surprised. "Electabuzz! What are you doing? I told you not to challenge anyone without my permission." Lt. Surge replied.
"Buzz!? Buzz-Buzz..." he replied in defeat. I stood by my team, and then turned to Electivire; seeing him now fully healed. "Morning, Electivire." I said to him. "Vire." he replied. "Huh? Taylor? What are you doing up so early?" Lt. Surge replied. "Me? I was looking for my team. I got scared wondering if they went somewhere far off the area by themselves, and almost got stolen, but once the sun appeared on the beach, I saw them here together watching the sunrise. I guess that you all wanted to talk in private without me knowing, didn't ya?" I replied as I looked at my team. They nodded their heads yes to my question, and then we looked back at Lt. Surge and his Pokémon. As we stared at each other, Electivire walked upto us, stood in between us, and then turned to me. "Electivire?" I said curiously. "What is he doing?" Lt. Surge replied curiously as Electivire and I stared at each other.
He blinked his green eyes as he looked down at me, and then suddenly gave me a hug. "Whoa!" I said surprised. "Vire! Vire-Vire! Electi-vire!" he replied with tears in his eyes. "I guess he wants to thank you for helping him get over his past yesterday." Surge replied. "You think so?" I replied. "Of course I do. Look at him. You were the only human that he never physically harmed and got through to his heart. You made him understand who his former Trainer really was and made him see what kind humans do to protect Pokémon like him. In his eyes, he sees you as the perfect Trainer who set an example for him to conquer his anger and be free from his past." he replied. I was surprised of what he had said, and then Electivire let me go from the hug. "Is that true, Electivire? All of what he said?" I asked him. "Vire." he replied with a nod of his head.
I smiled back at him and hugged him again; making him happy. We let each other go, and then Tetrax jumped up on my shoulders and began searching through my Bag. "Huh!? Tet? What are you doing?" I said. He dug through my bag curiously, and then took out a different kind of PokéBall from it. "Pika!" he said as he showed it to me. "Ah. An Ultra Ball. That's what he was looking for." Surge replied. "Rai-Rai!" Raichu replied. "I guess? But... why did you take it out of my bag, buddy?" I replied. "Vire!" Electivire replied as he pointed at himself. I looked at him shocked for a moment, and then I began to realize what was going on. "Heh. Looks like he wants you to catch him." said Surge. "Really? Are you sure, Electivire? Do you want to come along with me?" I replied. "Vire!" he replied happily. My team made happy noises at me; encouraging me to catch him. I looked down at the Ultra Ball, lightly smiled, and then looked up at Electivire as he looked at me.
I showed him the Ultra Ball, let him inspect it, and then saw him smile at it. "Electivire? It would be an honor for you to come along with us. I promise you with all my heart that I will help you become the strongest Electivire in the world. With your strength and courage, we can win many battles together... as partners." I said. "Electi-vire." he replied happily. He then made his right hand in to a fist, and gently fist bumped the Ultra Ball; starting the capture process. The Ball opened, closed, shook once, and made a dinging sound; confirming the capture. "Electivire has been registered to your PokéDex." said my phone. My team and I smiled happily at the news, and then celebrated it together. "Congrats, kid." said Lt. Surge. "Thank you, Lt." I replied. "No problem. Hey? Do you have any plans with your friends today?" he replied.
"Me? Oh. Well, the main plan today is to reunite with a friend of ours that's coming here today." I replied. "Really? That's nice. Do you know when you'll see him?" he replied. "No? According to his parents, he should be at the Contest Stadium sometime in the morning or afternoon." I replied. "That's great. But if you're not sure on what specific time your friend will show up, how about you come to my Gym and we have a battle?" he replied. "Really?" I replied. "Sure. Besides, I wanna see how much you have grown as a Trainer. I wanna see how much you have learned from your brother and his battles at the League." he replied. "Rai-chu!" Raichu replied. "Buzz!" Electabuzz replied with a smirk. I thought about it for a moment, and then smiled and shook his hand. "Sure. I accept your challenge." I said. "Alright! That's what I wanna hear! Battle will be after lunch!" he replied. "You got it!" I replied. We ended the handshake, saluted to each other, and then went our separate ways.
As I walked back to the beach house with my team, I immediately knew that I had to start planning both my Gym battle and my Contest battles; knowing this week is going to be a wild ride.
