|Chapter 20: A New Start
Takoba Beach, Days Later
Toshinori Yagi felt the first lights of the rising Sun hit his face with a breath; the sand shifted in between his toes and a light breeze wafted off the shore to cool his entire form. His breathing was controlled, not wasting a single atom of oxygen as he spread it throughout his entire body with a breathing technique he learned from one of his mentor's friends.
And as he did this, as he felt only himself and the natural world around him, he reached deep within his core. He searched for a flame that had burned for decades within him.
But he couldn't.
"Not even a spark left." One For All had truly left him for good. "It is… Over." The revelation that he was now once more quirkless was a hard truth, and yet, a freeing one. "Haha… Hahahaha! HAHAHA! It is done, Nana!" So free that he only felt like laughing; the sand around him responded in kind and began to storm around him as a heavy pressure pushed them away for a moment, before falling right back down. "It is done…"
It had been heard across all of Japan and the entire world; an event that shook the globe and was being broadcasted even now despite days having passed. All countries saw what was now called…
The Last Act.
They saw Toshinori giving up all of his power, the raging flames of energy within his quirk, all of it, to breathe life back into a brave boy that just wanted to be a hero; the man actually had to laugh at it. It was the truth, of course; they just didn't know how far that truth really went.
Speaking of truths, All For One – Hisashi Midoriya – was brought right to Tsukauchi before he could try to go to freedom and he was interrogated thoroughly on anything he had on the League of Villains. Confirmation on the true identities of their known members, the scope of their powers, the extent of their skills, how dangerous they truly were. If he had it, they wanted it.
However, it was a shock to learn that he had none of this information and was nothing more than a houseplant for a man Hisashi had called "The Doctor." When questioned about that man, Hisashi was confused when he couldn't remember much; Tsukauchi was also confused when he registered his words as true.
There was one thing that the white-haired man was able to give them though, the true identity of Tomura Shigaraki. Hisashi, before being a Midoriya by marriage, was a Shigaraki by blood; Tomura was not.
He was a Shimura.
Tenko Shimura.
The direct Grandson of Nana Shimura.
That one… That one had almost broken Toshinori; all he could do was pray and hope that the lost Shimura would find his way back to the light before the dark took him any further. It was selfish; a part of the blonde knew that he was just trying to hold on to the only remaining link to his mentor, but he didn't care. The faux-Shigaraki would be brought back even if Toshinori had to die dragging him.
As for the real Shigaraki, he had made a beeline for the one thing that had kept him alive throughout his past decade of comas; his wife. The reality of being able to finally see her had hit him late and he had left the high security holding cell they had him in immediately after it did; apparently, he still had a few quirks left in his arsenal.
And once they finally saw each other…
Well.
Takoba Beach, Yesterday
A black, diamond-shaped rift with glowing red edges suddenly manifested into existence at Takoba Beach, just behind the gazebo where a short, green-haired woman stared out to the rising Sun.
And as Hisashi stepped out of this dimensional rift, he thanked every star in the sky that he still had that quirk. Don't get him wrong, the white-haired man would've given every single quirk he had amassed over his life if it meant saving his Son. With that being said, however, he was grateful that he still had six quirks alongside his original; seven, lucky him.
What was especially lucky was that he had kept his personal favourite and first, successful, combination quirk; Familial Rift. It made finding his Wife so much easier.
Quirk: Familial Rift!
Description: This is a fun one folks! Hisashi combined the quirks Goop Warp and Rift – he can't really remember who he got them from – to create a warp quirk that allows him to open a rift that is within close vicinity to those he is well-acquainted with! He can also do the reverse of this and open a rift for them to come to him!
Looking in front of him, Hisashi saw a figure outlined by the morning light; an ethereal angel staring out into a star just as bright as they themselves were.
Well, that's how he saw his Wife anyway; there was no mistaking it for someone else. "I-… Inko?" Hisashi's blood red eyes trailed the woman in front of him; their long, beautiful green hair, her small yet strong figure, but all he wanted was to see her eyes. "Inko!" Eyes that had took him to one knee and asked for them to marry him, eyes that had looked at him with more love than he had ever experienced.
Eyes that looked back at him with surprise. "H-Hisashi?" Inko would never forget that voice, the one that had stolen her heart and helped her forged one of the brightest lights of their lights. "Hisashi!"
There was no pause of shock, no moment of processing for either of them. They just ran right into their lover's arms and embraced one another with love they knew not they would feel again. And when the pulled away to look at each other's eyes, it took all they had to keep their knees from failing.
"Ooof!" Unfortunately, that failed and the two, lovestruck adults ended up buckling from their nerves and ending up on the floor with each other.
A position that Hisashi was not against in the slightest. "My love… Oh, my sweet Inko." He was an absolute giant of a man, with some even comparing him to a God, but the woman sitting atop him made him feel so grounded and human. "I'm so sorry." And guilty; just like his ambitions had taken him away from his Brother, his Wife, too, was affected by the life he had chosen. "It's been so lon-"
"Hisashi, dearest." Inko wasn't having it though and brought her hand up to his cheeks; laughing at the comical amount of tears falling from them. "I don't know if this is even real, but I do know one thing." Before she brought her second hand up and cupped his face entirely in her grasp. "We can figure everything out later; just kiss me."
Hisashi responded eagerly to that.
And as the two basked in the love lost to years, Tsukauchi and his squad finally caught up to them.
"Uh… Sir?" And, understandably, they were confused. "Should we…"
"No." The detective seemed to know what to do though. "I don't think I'd be able to stay still if I'd been kept from my Wife for nearly half the time he was; let them have this."
Present
If Toshinori was being honest, it was strange seeing the face of his oldest and greatest enemy in a normal, family light, but…. Well, it was ultimately more refreshing once he saw his successor be embraced by his reunited family after a full decade of separation.
Regarding his successor, both of them – and their classmates – they had also undergone a substantial change in these past few days since the last act. It was a change that Nezu had been seeking for years and was very happy to finally implement; the Dormitory System.
With the number and calibre of villain attacks increasing against high school students across Yuuei, – and even the entire country – Nezu had saw it fit to keep their students on campus where they could be watched at all times by the new security system. Improved cameras, security gates, even modified versions of the villain bots were scattered around the edges of the school for anyone that managed to get in.
Of course, it had been reviewed thoroughly and been the subject of scepticism and scrutiny, but the general public's opinion of it was positive. Thus, the Japanese School Board and HPSC – they were involved as well for some reason – greenlit the forms for both Yuuei and many other hero schools around the country.
That wasn't the end of it though, Toshinori and Aizawa still had to go from house to house for each of the 1A students and sell the dorms to their parents. The Bakugou's and the Yaoyorozu's were the easiest, both families knowing they couldn't stop either child if they wanted; the rest had given the okay after that with little resistance.
Surprisingly enough, the Midoriya household had been the most difficult of the lot to breach. Inko, now having both her Husband and Son back in the same house for the first time in years, had absolutely zero intention of splitting up their family ever again. She also had a gut feeling that something was missing – a feeling shared by the other two Midoriya – and didn't want to risk it with the bad omens that surrounded her family.
Now, all of this was fair, and neither Toshinori nor Aizawa actually felt like arguing, but they had still managed to get Izuku to stay all thanks to Hisashi. The white-haired man had promised his Wife that he'd be able to check on their Son everyday with his warping quirk – and wasn't that a shock to learn he had one – and that no big moves would be played for months by the League of Villains.
Take the man out of the game but he still remembers how to play; good thing too, they didn't know if they were going to get Izuku back otherwise.
"All Might!" Speak of the risen one. "I'm here, I'm here!" And he shall appear.
"Young Midoriya!" Turning around to look at his successor, Toshinori greeted him with a warm smile. "I am glad that you were able to make it here so early in the morning!" The life of All Might was behind him, but there was one sin he had left to atone for; one that kept him awake on certain nights when the weight of a hundred countries pushed down a bit harder. "Trust me; it is important."
Not knowing how to read a room, Izuku automatically assumed the worst. "Is it about my Dad; he only broke out of custody to see Ma and I don't know if I can take seeing-"
"Woah, woah, woah!" Toshinori put a stop to that immediately though, spreading his hand entirely across Izuku's face. "It is not about your Father, Young Midoriya." Before moving it to rest on the teen's shoulder. "I must… I must apologise to you for things I have said and done, my boy."
Even understanding the situation, Izuku was still confused. "Apologise?" And frantically began to shake his hands in front of him. "There's nothing you'd need to apologise for, All Might, really; I don't hold anything-"
"There is." Once more cutting off his successor, the large blonde dropped to a knee. "… Do you remember what I said on the day we first met?"
"HAHAHA! I am here!" The mood his mentor was trying to set was destroyed by Izuku as his face morphed into an uncanny replica of Toshinori's.
One that the man tried his best not to laugh at. "Not the very first moment we met, my boy." Before he let his head fall down with a sigh. "On that day, you had asked me if someone without a quirk could possibly become a hero and I…" He lifted his head up and showed that he had tears in his eyes. "I had forgotten the day I had asked that question to Nana; I was wrong to tell you that you couldn't be a hero."
Izuku felt his own tears begin to pool in his eyes and he looked at his mentor hopefully. "Are you saying-"
"Indeed." And his mentor nodded back. "Even quirkless, without the gift that is One For All, I am certain that you would have still been a most wonderous hero; just as strong willed and righteous as the one that stands in front of me today." Toshinori's hand tightened on Izuku's shoulder and his smile – one that he had worn hundreds of times, came back full force. "Which is why I know that you shall be an even greater one; One For All, your friends- family. You will be a great hero."
It took a lot for Izuku not to burst into tears right on the spot, but his beaming smile was strong enough to fight those tears off. "I promise to always be the best hero I can be, All Might!" His exclamation was enhanced by seven, smoke-like forms suddenly appearing out of the greenette's back with each form laying their hands on him. "I'll save all that I can and do it with a smile!" Their eyes glowed – green, orange, crimson, yellow, red, pink, and purple – before they all suddenly wisped away with the wind.
'One For All…' Toshinori saw it clearly though, and he couldn't keep his trademark smile off his lips. 'They have your back, my boy.' But he did straighten up after a few moments. "Now, with that done, there is one more thing I wanted to talk to you about." His posture was copied by his student at his semi-serious tone. "Japan's paradigm is about to shift; with both myself and your Father out of the picture, there is a substantially large power vacuum on both sides of the coin."
Izuku apparently already understood this. "Yeah, heroes are going to be training their hardest to close the gap… But the same thing applies to the villains, so the crime rate could probably double by the start of next year."
Toshinori nodded at that. "That is indeed correct, Young Midoriya, meaning you and your generation of youthful heroes-to-be must train harder than ever; become the new pillars that can hold up the world and each other." Before he knelt down again and gripped his successor's shoulder tightly. "And I want you to remember that last part, my boy; you have friends, they are heroes, just like you. Don't make the mistake I did and try shoulder all of their burdens by yourself; share your burdens together to lighten the load and show the world that you are stronger together."
The greenette's face became fully serious at this – though, it looked completely adorable to any outside viewers – and he smashed his fists together. "Yes, All Might!"
Ah, right, that's the other thing. "I no longer am All Might, Young Midoriya." Toshinori corrected, a soft smile on his face as he stood up. "Yagi-Sensei or Yagi is who I shall be for the remainder of my days; All Might is lost to the past."
"Yes, Yagi-Sensei!" Izuku just repeated his prior phrase with the same level of seriousness – and adorableness. "Was there anything else you needed from me?" Before tilting his head with a smile.
"No, no, that's all I needed from you." Toshinori shooed him off though with a wave of his hands. "Go make sure that you have all the belongings you need and want to bring to the dorms ready; it's moving day!"
U.A High School, Heights Alliance, 1A Dorms, The Following Evening
As the students of 1A arrived at the front of their new home while at school, they found themselves impressed. Leave it to Yuuei to somehow create a giant, five-story dorm fit to house twenty students in a single weekend. They even had small trees and other flora around the dorm.
However, those thoughts were thrown away once the students saw each other. Once that happened…
"Toru! Kyoka!" Mina, Momo, Ochako, and Tsu, all ran and jumped on top of the chartreuse-haired lightbulb and purple-haired speaker as soon as they saw them, leaving them all in a pile. "You're okay!"
An action that had the latter two girls scrambling to breathe under the combined weight of their friends. "Girls, we love that you're all worried about us, but…" Hagakure started, trying to kip them off of her to no avail.
"We'd be better if you weren't crushing us!" Jirou was also trying to use her quirk to lift them off, but whatever they had in their bags was too heavy for her.
Luckily, they seemed to realise what they were doing and Ochako ran her hands along all of them. "Haha, sorry…" And, once they were all safely away from their no longer crushed friends, the brown-haired girl dropped them. "We're just really happy to see you're all right."
Over to their right, the guys had a similar situation as they all jumped on Izuku and Bakugou. "Midoriya and Bakugou; the villains can't defeat them! Beaten by their strength and super sweat that their secretin'!" It surprised them all when it had both of them laughing, but that just had them chant even louder.
They were quick to jump off them though and just talk as they waited for Aizawa to show up.
"Yaomomo!" Kaminari walked up the onyx-haired girl and stuck his fist out, quirk activated with a smirk. "Good to see you're doing alright after the camp."
Momo just smiled and activated her own quirk, creating a metal gauntlet insulated by rubber, before smashing her fist against the blonde's, creating a visible spark between them. "Of course I am fine; it would take far greater than a mid-tier Nomu to take me down."
Next to her, Jirou snorted before giving a head nod towards Kaminari. "Weird to think that we're all going to be living together now." She started. "I'm glad though; I'd much rather this than have my parents pull me out entirely."
"Girl, mood." Hagakure rolled her eyes at that. "My parents were really set on sending me to another school; Papa nearly burnt down the house again with his quirk out of worry as well."
Ojiro walked next to her and nodded. "Well, it makes sense." He said with a shrug. "You, Jirou, Yaomomo, Bakugou, and Midoriya were the most effected by the attack; I'm surprised any of your parents allowed you five to even be here."
Bakugou scoffed at that. "My parents were more than pleased to get rid of me; apparently they want to 'try stuff' that can't be done with me in the house every night." His scoff turned to a shiver as he tried to keep the implications of that statement out of his head. "I might be getting a little Sister by next year."
"My parents also were more than happy to send me here." Momo exclaimed as she walked up next to Bakugou and leaned on him. "Father says that this is a much more meaningful outlet for my 'destructive tendencies' than our humble abode."
"If it wasn't for my Dad being back home, Ma would've pulled me out entirely." Izuku admitted, rubbing the back of his head. "He's actually doing a daily checkup on me on Ma's orders as well to make sure I don't get into anymore… Situations."
"With the way this year has gone, all of you should be getting daily checkups." Aizawa's voice flowed into everyone's ears and they all snapped to attention. "Good evening to you; I'm glad to see you all here.." He stood atop the steps to their new dorms – somehow having arrived without them noticing – and looked very much unhappy. "It means I get to reprimand you all at the same time."
His sudden appearance and tone of voice – which actually had emotion – did not bode any good will to the students of 1A and they all shook nervously. 'Crap.'
An action Aizawa smiled at before adopting a serious expression and activating his quirk. "Hikaru, Ashido, Tokoyami, Todoroki, Kirishima, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu." The mentioned students stiffened – literally in Kirishima's case – as the man's eyes met each of them. "You seven were present at Kamino for the purpose of rescuing Bakugou and Midoriya, even when you had no reason to." Red eyes roamed over the rest of the students and they all began to sweat. "And based on how the rest of you are acting, I can correctly assume that you were – at the very least – aware of the former seven's intentions and actions."
Izuku, Bakugou, Jirou, and Hagakure were the only students not mentally screaming and buckling under the wave of fear that Aizawa was washing over them. 'We're gonna get expelled.' And even then, it was close.
Even closer once the winds began to pick up around their teacher. "Let me make this as clear as I possibly can; Bakugou, Jirou, Hagakure, and Midoriya would be the only students left in this class were it not for All Might's retirement and intervention in my decision to remove you from the class." A few particular students dropped their heads at that. "And I don't mean put down into General Studies; you all would've been expelled."
The seven that had gone out against their teachers' wishes had already made peace with the possibility of losing the path to their dreams, but the realisation that they had gambled the dreams of their friends stung deep. 'I didn't even think about them…'
Aizawa saw the shame cast over their face and let his quirk deactivate. "The trust that you've built with us since the start of the year has been shattered. The seven that went off on their own, and the nine that didn't stop them; you are all on thin ice. Am I understood?"
The sixteen students all nodded and saluted. "Yes, Sensei!"
And with that sorted, Aizawa dropped his serious face and returned to his monotone, tired self, slouching as well. "Now that that's out of the way, I also need to remind you all that these last two weeks of your break – even though it is not at a training camp – will be very harsh. We'll be completely focusing on having you all ready for the Provisional License Exam in the beginning week of September."
That got the sparkle back in his students' eyes. "The licensing exam!"
"Yup." Having seen that coming, Aizawa took his earplugs out. "Since the training camp was compromised, your training is going to continue here under the supervision and security of both Yuuei and the heroes of Shizuoka Prefecture." He made it clear that nothing was going to impede their training this time around. "However, that can be discussed in detail later. For now, you all have to be acquainted with your new home."
Any looming sadness or shame from before had now completely disappeared as the students cheered and followed their teacher into the dorms. "Yeah!/Woohoo!" That excitement turned to astonishment once they saw the interior. "Woah!"
Yuuei really went all out for them.
"Welcome to your new home for the foreseeable… However-many-years you manage to stay in this school." If Aizawa thought it was too much – he did – he kept it to himself. "This first floor is your general living space with a kitchen on your left, a washhouse for all your laundry at the back right, and lounge areas scattered in between." He pointed out each location as he listed them and sighed as his students ran about.
"Couch!" Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero all ran to the lounge area and piled on top of each other as they dived onto the large seat. "It's comfy!"
Meanwhile, Ochako looked around the area with tears building around her eyes and a large smile on her face. 'I don't have to keep paying for a crappy apartment anymore!'
As the students had their reactions, Aizawa ignored them and continued with his explanation. "Your rooms start from the second floor and continue for three floors upwards; eight rooms on each floor. Girls, you're all on the right side, boys, on the left; unpack in whatever room you want and get to first." And with that done, he let his scarf open the door for him and walked away. "That is all; dismissed."
"Yes, Sensei!"
1A Common Area, Hours Later
"Finally!" Kirishima exclaimed with a sigh as he laid down on the couch next to Bakugou. "Dang, that took forever; it's night now!"
Kaminari plopped down on the floor in front of the couple and wiped the sweat off his brows before looking to the remainder of the 1A boys. "How'd the rest of you get all of your stuff in so quickly?"
A question to which most shrugged at. "Well, I barely had anything to bring in." Shoji stated. "Compared to you and Kirishima who had…"
"A positive abundance of possessions." Fumikage finished for his fellow mutant. "It would not be a stretch to say you both moved a house's worth of belongings into your rooms."
The muscular redhead decided he had to give that one to them. "Well… Yeah, that's actually a fair point."
"Hold on, Shoji, did you even bring anything at al-"
Before Kaminari could finish his question, a fast, pink blur moved into everyone's peripheral vision. "Dive!" Causing Fumikage and Shoto to shoot away from its obvious target.
"Izuku!" Mina crashed right into her green-haired boyfriend – God, she loved saying that – and wrapped her entire body around him with a large smile. "Whatcha doin'?"
"Just relaxing; we're all pretty tired." An action that Izuku happily reciprocated with a smaller but equally loving smile.
In the days since the Kamino incident, the two had spent nearly every day together as the world seemed to be on pause – to the immense happiness of their parents and classmates. It was a foreign concept for both of them, calling the other their lover, but they loved it more than anything else.
"Well, if you're all not doing anything…" Mina separated from the hug and got more comfortable in Izuku's arms before leaning into him. "How's about we all have a dorm room contest to break in the new home?"
Evidently, everyone seemed happy with that idea as they all smiled and shot their hands up. "Yeah!"
"Nope." Except for Bakugou, who just looked at his wrist – which did not have a watch on it – before walking to the elevator. "Half past eight, that means bedtime. Goodnight, losers!"
And…
Ding!
Yeah, he's gone.
"Everyone, minus Bakugou, we are holding a room contest!" Mina was undeterred though and stood up before grabbing her boyfriend. "And, as luck would have it, you're up first, Izu.~"
Izuku's Room
"Well, welcome to my room." Izuku said unceremoniously as he opened his door for his classmates.
It was actually a well-made room; his floors had obviously been replaced as the wood changed from oak to spruce once they entered. The greenette had his bed facing the door in the far left corner of the room with two shelves above the head of it; one holding his sword on display, and the other having three hero figures.
All Might: Young Age; Limited Edition.
Hawks: First Batch; Limited Edition.
And Edgeshot: Origins; Limited Edition.
On the other side of his room he had an L-shaped desk with nothing but art supplies and a shelf with a number of notebooks on it. There he also kept a photo of his younger self and parents – which his Father had kept and given to him – and a guitar leaning up against the desk.
The most interesting feature of his room, however, were the pair of weights next to his bed. It was a humbling number for most of his male classmates.
"You know, I didn't actually get to see your sword much at the training camp; you and Tokoyami were too fast for me to get a good look." Of course, Kaminari's first instinct was to look at his sword. "… Nice."
Meanwhile, Jirou's eyes travelled to his guitar with a quizzical look before she remembered their introductions. "Oh, right… Hikaru mentioned you both play guitar."
Iida went straight to his desk and the shelf of notebooks he had. "Analysis; Volume One." He tilted his head at the fact that there were thirteen of these notebooks and was wondering what they were. "Midoriya, what exactly are in these-"
Luckily for Izuku, Mina interrupted the blue-haired teen's question by jumping onto his bed. "Nice digs, Izu." An action the greenette was grateful for; he didn't feel like explaining his Calamity Contingencies if he could help it. "I'm totally not getting comfortable on this bed since I'm going to sleep here."
That, however, was not something the greenette could take and Izuku quickly picked his girlfriend off of his bed before walking out into the hallway. "Next room!"
Akira's Room
Of course, Akira's room happened to be next as he and Izuku thought it would be nice to be neighbours.
"You too, Akira?" Ochako asked as they looked at his spruce wood floors.
All in all, his room struck a good resemblance to Izuku's. The only difference is that he had a computer and medical books on his desk while his walls were much more filled with metallic hero posters from across the globe.
China's former best hero; Oogway: Ascended Master; First Edition.
China's current best hero; Po: Bamboo Forest; Limited Edition.
America's greatest soldier; Shield: American Commando; First Edition.
Samoa's protector; Toa: Voyager of the Sea; Limited Edition.
"This is some bullshit." Jirou also found that Akira also had weights next to his bed like Izuku as she stubbed her toe on it. "Your parents are feeding you two way too much." While not as much as Izuku, Akira was still running a hefty amount on one arm.
No one really paid attention to that though as Ojiro directed their eyes to the golden mat in the middle of the room. "Holy crap! Is this is a custom, QGA approved meditation map from Nepal?" It was the shining piece of the room, glowing like a Christmas tree.
"Yeah, Dad got it for me on my seventh birthday." And Akira was very proud of it. "Though, he's never actually confirmed whether or not he bought it or if he made it."
On the right side of the room, next to Akira's desk, Kirishima looked at the sparring bar and walked up to it with a raised eyebrow. "What's this?" Before letting his intrusive thoughts win and hitting it… Which then came right back to him and knocked him in the face. "… Cool!"
Shoto's Room
Just over from the rooms of Izuku and Akira was Shoto's room, and boy was it fancy. "Woah!" A completely Japanese-styled interior, completed with tatami flooring and walls, and sliding, Shoji doors replacing his curtains.
"Hey, wait a minute." Hagakure was beginning to see a pattern. "Did you all change out your floors?" She looked to the four boys on the first floor as she asked.
And Shoto was the first to nod in affirmative. "Midoriya, Hikaru, Tokoyami, and I weren't a fan of the oak wood." He explained, getting more nods from the other three. "So we took a trip to a hardware store and helped each other with switching out our floors."
It sounded like a lot, but with his Father's credit card, it wasn't really anything.
"You know, I was kind of expecting a half-half room." Sato admitted with a laugh. "But this is a lot cooler than what I had in my head."
Momo nodded with her own laugh. "Indeed, very cool." … Dang, no one got it. 'Aw.'
Moving on from the heiress' bad attempt at a joke – she's trying – Izuku let his eyes lock onto the large board decorated with different coloured strings, sticky notes, and photos hanging above his friend's desk. "… Hold on, is this a theory boar-"
"Alright, that's enough." Shoto pushed everyone out before the question could finish being asked before kicking open Fumikage's door. "Tokoyami, your turn."
Fumikage's Room
"Ooooh…" Fumikage's room was not what everyone else expected it to be.
Just as Shoto had said before, Fumikage had also replaced his floors with spruce wood, just like Izuku and Akira. However, he also had painted his walls a matte black and had hung fairy light clusters in each of the top corners of the room.
It had kept the dark aesthetic one would expect from the bird boy, but it also gave off a very peaceful atmosphere.
"Sword!" Of course, Kaminari instantly gravitated towards the katana on display at the head of the teen's bed. "Gasp!"
Jirou looked at him like he was stupid when she heard that. "Did you just say gasp?"
Ignoring the purple-haired girl, Kaminari pointed to the second blade that Fumikage apparently had. "He's got two swords, Jirou!" His exclamation was followed by a back and forth dance with his hands where he tried to keep himself from touching it. "So cool; must touch- No! Can't… But maybe-"
"Absolutely not." Letting Dark Shadow out, Fumikage let his Brother gently push everyone out of his room and towards the other side of their floor. "You have seen my chambers; time for you all to leave."
Mina's Room
"Girl, this place is a vibe." Hagakure said as she took a hat off of Mina's coat hanger and struck a pose; laughing as she did so. "I love it."
Jirou nodded and took her own hat off the rack. "I like the leopard patterns; you've got a good central theme to the room."
"Hmm…" Izuku hummed as he looked around his girlfriend's room and eventually decided to softly smile at the design. "This is very… You."
Mina didn't miss his pause and fixed him with a raised eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means…" The greenette, however, didn't stumble or stutter and took one of her hands in his before grabbing her waist with his other. "It's exotic in the best way possible."
Oh, right, he could flirt. "I-uh…" Mina had forgotten about that.
Izuku just chuckled at her as the pink girl's legs turned to jelly and he picked her up bridal style. "Payback." Before giving her a small peck on the forehead and walking out into the next room.
Ochako's Room
Ochako's room was a very middle-class room; probably the most normal room in the dorms, actually. Simple bed, desk with a broken wheely chair and small computer, and a small T.V next to it.
The brunette was a little embarrassed by it though. "Yeah, I know it's not a lot." She looked down and rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. "There's actually more space in here than the apartment I was living in, so…"
Akira walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "I think it's great." He said into her ear before kissing her cheek. "Nice and homey."
Ochako blushed heavily before turning to mush in her boyfriend's arms. "I also have a ukulele in the corner." She weakly pointed to the small instrument. "Akira's been teaching me to play."
Kaminari's ears twitched at that. "Really?! We should really get a band running." He exclaimed. "I mean, who else plays instruments here?" The blonde smiled widely at the number of hands raised. "Yes…."
Momo's Room
This, uh…. Huh, this is a bit of a surprise.
"I was expecting more…" Hagakure definitely agreed with that. "Not that there's anything wrong with having a normal room, but…"
Tsu nodded, showing the chartreuse-haired girl she wasn't being crazy. "Kero, after visiting your house, Yaomomo, we were expecting your bed to be pushing against the walls."
Contrary to their beliefs, Momo's room was pretty much normal aside from the fact that everything looked just a tad bit more expensive than what you'd usually find in a normal teenager's room.
"Oh, no, it was." Ah, never mind, Yaomomo apparently did have some problems. "My bed could not fit in the room at all, so I had to have my movers remove my original belongings from the premises and I went to the hardware store with the others to build my furniture from scratch."
Her fellow classmates nodded. 'There it is.'
Tsuyu's Room
"Holy crap!" 1A looked at Tsu's room with surprise.
"Kero, yup!" And the frog girl was very happy about it. "My room's the best, kero!"
While she hadn't changed out her floors, her wallpaper had been replaced with a vibrant green that matched her hero costume. Her bed looked like a giant frog with its mouth open – it's tongue being the mattress – and she had various frog plushies of giant sizes on it as well.
That wasn't what her classmates were focusing on though. Instead of a desk with a computer on it, Tsu had decided that that space would be better occupied by a leg curl machine with a bookshelf next to it. The scariest part was the number they saw on the weights.
This girl could probably squash their heads like grapes if she wanted to.
'Right…' And, coming to that realisation, they all quickly made their way to the elevators to get to the next floor.
"Kaminari, don't fry the elevator." Jirou had to reprimand the blonde as he pressed the next floor's button so fast he activated his quirk.
Shoji's Room
Like Shoji had said earlier, he hadn't moved much into his room compared to Kirishima or Kaminari…
Though, he could've made that comparison with literally any other person in his class or across the entire school; aside from a small futon in the corner of the room and a desk in the middle, he had nothing.
That's not how the class saw it though. "Did someone rob you?"
"I'm a minimalist, guys; I don't really see the point in having a ton of things that I barely use." Shoji explained with a shrug. "I know I'm not winning the dorm contest, so let's just get to Koda's room."
Everyone could agree with that and walked off.
Koda's Room
"Bunny!" The girls exclaimed as Koda held up his pet to them.
Koda's room was pretty normal but had a heavy animal aesthetic, obviously trying to make a comfortable environment for his pet. He also had a nice lime-green colour theme and multiple stuffed animals on his bed.
"This place is very peaceful." Fumikage hummed as he pet the bunny's head. "It's… nice."
Shoji nodded next to him as his many hands petted the bunny which was multiplying before their eyes. "Agreed." Quirked animals were cool.
Iida's Room
"Yeah." Akira nodded as he looked around the room with his hands on his hips. "This is exactly what I pictured when I thought of your room, Iida."
Next to him, Izuku eyed the small shelf that doubled as a bedside table. "Lots of car magazines here; I guess that makes sense." Then his eyes trailed to the teen's wall… And saw it held Iida's mini library. "Oh stars."
Ochako looked at the other side of his room and openly gaped at the sheer number of glasses he had hanging on display. "Why do you have so many?!" She exclaimed, forgetting that Iida was rich for a moment. "How much did this cost?"
"That matters not, Uraraka." Iida just dismissed her though, chopping the air as he did so. "I hold this many pairs because I expect to break my glasses in every training exercise we have!"
Yeah, that was to be expected. "Next."
Ojiro's Room
"Oh dang!" Kirishima exclaimed as he looked around. "This place is sick!"
Kaminari gaped at the walls of his room. "Dude!" He darted between all of them. "You've got so many weapons!" It was like a paradise to the blonde.
The room, while having a normal layout, had a very dojo-like design. Multiple weapons from staffs to shuriken, as well as swords and spears, decorated the back walls on elegant, dark oak displays. He also held a number of metallic posters of martial arts legends on his desk-side walls, both heroes and masters.
"I was expecting a normal room." Hagakure admitted sheepishly, picking a staff off the wall and spinning it around. "I am so glad I was wrong; this place rocks!"
Ojiro looked a bit sheepish and chuckled. "Yeah… I just like martial arts a lot."
Sato's Room
"Mmmm." Momo hummed in delight as she smelled the air. "What is that delicious aroma?"
Sato just pointed to his microwave. "Oh, that; I got cake cooking." He explained with a smile. "Thought it'd be a nice moving in treat for all of us; yeah?" His eyes shifted to inside the large appliance and he hummed. "I reckon it'll be ready by the time we're finished with the comp."
Everyone agreed, but no one expected Akira's reaction. "Cake…" His eyes were actually shining a bright gold and he was salivating in front of the mini oven. "Cake…"
"Yeah, that's enough of that." Luckily, Izuku was there to keep him in check and grabbed his friend before walking outside. "Great room, Sato, can't wait for the cake."
"CAKE!"
Aoyama's Room
"Huh." Mina hummed as she looked around. "I don't know why, but I was expecting an extremely bright and glittery room." She mentally shrugged at her preconception.
Kaminari nodded. "Same." He grabbed a piece of cheese from a display platter and hummed in delight as he ate it. "But this French-themed room is definitely a nice alternate."
Just like the boys on the second floor, Aoyama had switched out his oak floorboards to instead be dark oak and, similar to Fumikage, had painted his walls a matte black. His bed and desk were both a royal white and he had a large, circular mirror above his desk. Next to that, a large bookshelf with a number of French literature books rested.
"I am glad you enjoy it." Aoyama said in his calm tone. "However, I shan't have any dirt tracking in on my new floors. So, everyone… Out."
Mina just smiled despite the threatening tone the French teen had used and pointed upwards. "Alright, peoples, to the next floor!"
They all shouted with her and ran to the elevators. "Yeah!"
Bakugou's Room
"Nope."
Kirishima's Room
"Wow, they weren't exaggerating." Hagakure said as she looked around the redhead's room with a laugh. "You've got… Wow, yeah, there's a lot in here."
Kirishima, undeterred, took it as a compliment and nodded proudly. "Yup, this is my man cave!" He struck the punching bag next to him with a happy shout.
"I like it." Akira also gave a strike to the punching bag. "Everything you might need in one room; convenient."
All the guys laughed and each had a turn at hitting the punching bag.
"That's what I was going for." Kirishima said. "I also got this really cool muscle clock that hits you on the head when it's time to wake up!" He pointed to a large digital clock with arms attached to it at the head of his bed.
"Uh…." Everyone didn't know how they felt about that idea and instead decided to walk out.
Kaminari's Room
"Ooooh, dart board." Kirishima exclaimed with a smile as he looked at the board above the blonde's bed.
In contrast, Jirou laughed at the blonde's room. "Dude, this place sucks!"
"Hey, what do you mean?" An action that Kaminari was offended at. "My room is amazing."
Mina shrugged. "I mean… There's no theme to it."
Ochako nodded. "Yeah, it's kind of just everywhere."
Kaminari pouted and pointed out to the hallway. "Alright, my room sucks; next."
Sero's Room
"Yo!" The class all looked around Sero's room with pleasantly surprised grins. "This place looks great!"
The room was very cultured and definitely more southeast in style compared to the rest of theirs; the flooring was even covered entirely by a large mat. Sero had also apparently changed out his curtains and laid a number of mats up on the wall.
"Thanks, guys." And the black-haired tape user was damn proud of it. "I'm glad you like it."
"This has a really chill kind of vibe." Jirou nodded at the room's design. "I love it."
Momo also nodded. "I concur."
So too did Kirishima and Kaminari nod as they both fell onto Sero's hammock. "Ditto."
Jirou's Room
"Yes!" Kaminari exclaimed, looking around the girl's room. "That does it, we're making a band!"
As one might've guessed, Jirou's room was designed like a music studio. Soundproofed walls, dark flooring, recording machines on her desk, guitars, a keyboard, speakers, and drums as well.
The purple-haired teen just blushed in embarrassment at the smile the blonde was giving her. "I mean… That could be fun."
Kaminari was oblivious to that though and nodded energetically with an almost squeal. "What should we call our band? What songs would we sing? Wait, who can sing?"
As he rambled off his ideas, everyone slowly moved on to the next room.
Hagakure's Room
"Aw, this is adorable!" Mina exclaimed as she looked at Hagakure's room.
Ochako nodded in agreement next to her. "This is really cute, Toru."
The chartreuse-haired girl's room held a very child-like atmosphere as the walls were a baby pink with cloud designs scattered around it. Her furniture and belongings also matched the same colour aesthetic.
Hagakure just shrugged. "I'm a sucker for sentiment." She admitted. "I haven't really changed anything since I was eight aside from the size of my bed every few years."
Everyone could agree with that and nodded as the room competition was over, leaving just one more thing-
"Cake!" Ah, Akira was already at the elevator.
1A Common Area
"I'll be honest." Kaminari started as he ate his piece of cake. "I think Ojiro's room was my favourite." He shoved the rest of the cake down his throat and sighed before grabbing another piece. "I loved the weapons."
"I guess, but Tokoyami's fit my vibe." Jirou argued, also eating cake. "Peaceful darkness just really hit the mark."
Momo nodded in agreement. "Indeed, but I was a fan of Aoyama's room." She added, swallowing an entire chunk of cake whole. "Such an elegant design and very regal." Before shoving another slice of cake down in under a second. "It was very appealing."
"Tsu's was cool too, loved the frog bed; but let's be real though." Kirishima started, getting everyone's attention. "We all know who won this competition."
Everyone nodded with cake-filled smiles. "Sato!"
"Aw, shucks." Said sugar student was rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Thanks, you guys." And was tending to a second cake in the main kitchen's oven. "I'm glad to see you love the cake."
Aoyama nodded as he calmly dug into his piece. "I may have to bother you for a recipe, dear friend."
Akira was humming in delight as he ate three slices for himself. "I will literally pay you to make me cakes after school." He was very happy.
As was Izuku as he swallowed his last two pieces down like they were just grapes. "Yeah this is great." Before standing up and dusting himself off. "But I say we head to bed; I don't want to experience whatever Aizawa has planned for us tomorrow with his level of sleep."
Everyone shuddered at the reminder of their continued training and their pissed off teacher before nodding and standing up.
"Yeah, probably best." And, as they began to walk off, Mina wrapped her arms around Izuku and grabbed onto his back. "Well, carry me to my room."
Hagakure laughed as she watched them walk off and decided to take a jab at them. "Remember, you're just dropping her off, not staying!" The crash the chartreuse-haired girl heard made her cackle.
Heights Alliance, The Next Morning
Standing in front of his class – most still in their pyjamas – Aizawa let his students stew in silence before addressing them. "Alright, I hope you've all prepared yourselves; these last two weeks of your training." And even when he did break the silence, none of them looked any more relaxed; good. "As I told you yesterday, these two weeks will be nothing but hard work, ingenuity, repetitive practice, and adaptability training to have you ready for your licensing exam."
If they weren't awake before – Kirishima and Kaminari were sleeping on Koda's back as he was in bear form; easier to sleep that way – Aizawa's previous statement had them up and at it.
'I'm gonna get my license and show Mum that I can be just like her!' Kaminari thought with a tired smile as he sat up, his quirk crackling beneath his skin.
Leaning on Koda, Momo also held similar thoughts. 'I shall get my license and go to my next hero internship with a hero that shall let me run free and destroy! Perhaps Mirko…'
Tsu And Fumikage just smiled as they side-eyed one another. 'We're gonna rock this.'
"You need to know this though; first years rarely ever take this exam. When they do, it's not an entire class, just a singular student going with their upperclassmen." Aizawa watched realisation dawn on his students' eyes and he nodded. "You're going to be going up against experienced hero students; second years that have had work studies and third years repeating the exam. Suffice to say, you all need to be better than your best."
Undeterred, the students of 1A just grinned before throwing their hands up in the air. "Yes, Sensei!"
An action the tired man smiled at. "Good." Before straightening himself up. "Now, the other teachers and myself have decided we're going fast forward your training to a specific lesson that will give you an edge in this exam. It is one of the most paramount aspects of a hero."
Cementoss suddenly dropped down from the sky and next to Aizawa. "Super Moves."
"And Ultimate Moves." Before a number of Ectoplasm landed on the other side of the tired man, each holding one of the students' hero costumes.
"Super moves, as some of you may know…" Cementoss started, looking at the students as he dusted himself off. "Are when a hero uses their quirk or resources in powerful or skilful ways to turn the tide of a battle."
"While your ultimate moves will push your body, mind, and quirk to their limits and into a singular action that ensures a battle is yours." Ectoplasm finished, letting multiple clones of him spawn before combining into a giant and speaking in tandem with it. "It is your finishing move."
Aizawa nodded at the other two in thanks before turning back to his kids. "At the training camp, you were all experimenting with different applications of your quirks, both for fighting and rescue." His eyes skimmed over a specific few and they smiled. "I want you all to be doing this; by the time these two weeks are over, you all need to have at least two super moves and – preferably – a set fighting style."
Judging by the fire in their eyes, Ectoplasm guessed they were ready and his clones gave the 1A students their respective costumes. "Have these costumes on and be in Gym Gamma before the hour ends."
"Crap!" That was in eight minutes. "Go! Go! Go!"
Gym Gamma
After quickly getting changed into their costumes, 1A collectively busted into what they were sure was Gym Gamma. It was kind of hard to tell though since it was a large, open space with its only detail being the stone floor. Aside from that, it was empty and desolate; kind of like a place that a horror film would be shot at.
However, there was one feature right in the middle of the room that kept the minds of 1A from dismissing the place and running to another gym.
"Hahaha!" Toshinori Yagi stood in the middle of the gym, standing in his trademark, lat spread pose. "Welcome to Gym Gamma, newbies!" And, instead of his usual black or burgundy suit, he was wearing a pair of Yuuei gym track pants and a form-fitting, black singlet. "Also known as the Training Dining Land! Or the TDL!"
And even though he looked just the tiniest bit smaller than usual, it only took one look at those shadowed, blue eyes for the class to recognise him. "All Might!"
"My time as All Might has finished, my young students." Toshinori shook his head at them, a soft smile on his lips. "I am merely your teacher, Toshinori Yagi; though, you may call me Yagi-Sensei."
Slowly filing away the man's real name for his theory board, Shoto put up his hand to address a small concern of his. "All Migh-… Yagi-Sensei?" He took a second to correct himself. "Are you sure that you should be the one teaching this lesson? It's fair to say that we'll be creating a lot of collateral damage."
Iida nodded at that with a worried expression. "Indeed, Yagi Sensei! Without the protection of your quirk, it may be best for you to vacate yourself from the area as to mitigate the possibility of being hurt."
The blue-haired teen's statement got a murmur of agreement from most of his classmates.
An action that Toshinori shook his head at. "That's disappointing to hear, Young Iida." Before turning his eyes to Cementoss, who had just walked in behind the class. "Do it."
The class didn't even have a moment to process what he said before Cementoss kneeled down to the ground and activated his quirk. "Cobble Crush Onslaught!" Causing three pillars of cement to snake up from the stone around him and shoot towards Toshinori at high speeds.
"Wait!" Even faster than the students could react to given they were still waking up. "No!" And as they saw the pillars close in on their retired symbol of peace, some closed their eyes.
"Carolina Smash!" Only to open them again once they saw the large blonde cross his arms and shoot them out, causing all three pillars to crumble in front of him. "Do you truly think so little of me?" Their eyes couldn't track him for much longer though as he quickly flashed out of sight. "Behind you."
"AH!" And apparently made his way behind them, as that's where 1A turned when they heard his voice call out.
Toshinori just looked bemused. "While I am grateful for your concerns, young ones, I must remind you that I am by no means weak." His large hands made their way to Izuku's head and ruffled up the greenette's unruly curls. "Yes, it is true, my power was given to this one in order to bring him back to life-" Everyone cringed at that and the blonde quickly made his point. "But I am still the former number one hero of over twenty-five years; I have seen and fought in battles that would make some of you sick. I am defined not by my quirk, but by the strength of my willpower, and the years of battle I have experienced."
The man's statement made most of the students feel sheepish and also curious as to what the blonde had experienced, but they just looked down in embarrassment.
'Damnit, no judging by quirks!' Bakugou was shaking his head, as if trying to fight off his demons.
'You're not Grandma, you're not Grandma, you're not Grandma.' Shoto was repeating this mantra to himself in his head.
'I wonder if I can do that?' While Momo was just wondering how she could achieve what All Might did by herself.
"Raise your heads." Toshinori wasn't a fan of how they were looking down – or how Momo's eyes were sparkling – and he let his own eyes roam over theirs. "And listen." He wanted to make it known he was dead serious. "Everyone is defined by their willpower and the strength of their conviction; even one with a seemingly weak quirk or no quirk at all is more than capable of reaching the levels I have… And you'd all do well to remember that."
While he sounded harsh, the man was trying to reach the muzzled roar he knew at least six of his students had. This was not just supposed to be a humbling lesson, but a way for him to silence the voice of doubt in his students' heads and light the fire of fury and justice within them.
Judging by the way that a few of their eyes burned with a small glow and the pressure Toshinori felt building in the air, he had reached a few of them. "We will, Yagi-Sensei!" They all chorused as one, bowing as they shouted.
It made Toshinori laugh. "It is fine, now listen up! With the help of Cementoss and Ectoplasm…" His students stood up straight and the two mentioned teachers stepped forward. "I shall help you create your super moves." Cementoss lowered himself to the ground next to him and the gym suddenly turned into a jungle gym made of cement. "We decided that, since I hold one of the largest super move sets in all of Japan's hero roster, I would be essential for these next two weeks."
"Yes you are." Aizawa nodded at that as he suddenly appeared, making 1A stand up a bit straighter. "Two weeks until your summer training ends; two weeks until your exam. I want better than your best from all of you." His eyes glowed and his hair flowed around him. "Now get moving!"
"Yes, sir!"
Half An Hour Later
Ojiro used his monkey tail to push him upwards into the air and he began to spin hard, letting his Bo staff spin around just as fast with him. "Take this!" Before releasing a powerful downwards strike against his Ectoplasm training clone. 'Damnit!' Only for the clone to dodge it. "Agh!" And kick him mid-air.
An action the clone executed with a sigh. "Your movements, while not lacking in power, are far too telegraphed for someone with your skill." He chided the boy as he walked over to him and picked him up. "Even if you are to only use your monkey tail, you should be using it as a third arm to confuse your opponents." Ojiro looked down and the hero let out another sigh. "I understand sticking to your kata is a reflex, Young Ojiro, but you must be more flexible; do not allow the heat of battle to fog your mind and adapt to your situation. Don't dishonour the black belt you wear."
The tailed blonde let the words ring in his head before nodding and getting up from his knees. "Yes, Sensei." And, looking at his tail, he let it swish around before moving it to hold his staff. 'Come on, man!'
"Come on, man!" On another side of the gym, Akira easily weaved around another one of Kaminari's hits. "The more you use it, the more it becomes second nature; that's when you can make special moves with it!"
"Yes, sir!" Meanwhile, the electric blonde was grinning as he tried to compress the lightning that was sparkling all around him like a storm. 'Come on, breathe… Breathe…' He backed away from his opponent for a moment and collected his breaths before moving his arms in a circle around him, absorbing the stray lightning in the air and moving it into a coat around him. "Ha!" It made him look sick.
"That's what I'm talking about!" That's what Akria thought at least. "Come on then!"
Opening his eyes, Kaminari revealed they were sparking and glowing. "I'm gonna call it… Full Storm!" The air buzzed around him and he crouched down, letting his legs charge, before shooting off. "Let's go!"
Just as the electric blonde's strike rung true, so, too, did Toshinori's on 1A's redhead. "Come on, Young Kirishima!" He wasn't going all out, but he still had the teen on the back pedal with his onslaught of attacks. "You have a tremendous level of defence, but you can eliminate needless damage and preserve stamina by refining your instincts and dodging; find a pattern!"
The red-haired teen had his quirk running through his body just to keep up with his massive teacher and was finding it difficult to think. 'Crap, crap, crap… Wait, there!' However, he suddenly felt himself enter a zone and dodged three of the man's hits. 'Yes!' And, happy with that, he moved in and went for a gut punch. "Ha!"
"… Hmph." Which did almost nothing Toshinori as he just took it. "Good." Before reeling his leg back and sending it forward. "Again!"
Above the blondes and their training partners, Izuku and Jirou were working on the latter's super move idea. "You almost got it, Jirou! Keep that output!" The greenette was floating below the purple-haired girl and was watching her keep a steady five metres off the ground. "Now you just have to pulse yourself upwards and then angle your hands up to shoot you down at high speeds; got it?"
Jirou, in fact, did not get it, but nodded anyway. 'Breathe, breathe, breathe.' Letting her quirk pulse, the purple-haired girl suddenly found herself a metre from hitting the ceiling before she righted herself and angled her hands up. "Here we go!" And then letting her quirk pulse again, sending her shooting tight towards Izuku. "AAAAAGGHHH!" At speeds she couldn't control.
"Oomph!" Luckily, Izuku was able to catch her and laughed it off. "Great job." Wait, no, he was wheezing cause he got the air hit out of him. "Don't forget about flying though." He was still capable of catching the girl once she stopped using her quirk.
Back down below, Mina and Hagakure were both sitting down against a wall and staring at the ceiling. "Okay, hear me out, what if you're like a nozzle for a hose." The latter started, getting a confused look from her pink friend. "Like, right now, you're on widespread shots; what if you squashed it down into a jet shot?"
Even with it explained, Mina was still a bit confused. "How would I even do that, Toru?" She asked as she looked down at her palms. "I'd need to get a nozzle or something since I can't really squash it down myself-"
"A.P Shot!" A large explosion above them cut the two off and they both looked up to see a laughing Bakugou with his left hand in front of his right in the shape of a ring. "Hahaha! Suck that, Akira! I told you I'd get it first try!" Before he did it several more times at the same rock, turning it into Swiss cheese. "A.P Barrage, bitch!"
Somehow, the blonde's last statement allowed Mina to reach an epiphany. "Oh… I have to be the nozzle; that makes a lot more sense." So, going with that train of thought, she stood up and slapped her hands together before moving it around to find the right position. "Hmmm… Almos- Ha!" Which she got almost immediately. "Sweet!"
The pink girl was secretly trying to do something else with her acid, but she didn't want to put it out there until she knew she could do it.
Next to her, Hagakure was just looking at her hand and thinking. 'Alright, so I know I don't control actual photons, that'd be too much; it's more like my own form of light particles that I charge with energy from my body that can effect light.' Though, a realisation hit her quick as she realised what she had just thought. 'Hold on…' Curling her hand into a fist, the girl imagined creating a small coat of light particles over her fist. "Holy shit!" And it worked.
"Language, Hagakure!" She probably could've been a bit quieter on the realisation though; Aizawa was glaring at her.
"Sorry, Sensei!" So, after quickly apologising, the girl turned back to her fist and started tapping it with her other hand. 'It's pretty solid, nothing to write home about though… Maybe it'd be better as a projectile?' As soon as that thought finished, the light gauntlet around her fist shot off right into the sky.
"Oof!" And hit Jirou straight in the gut. "Hey, who the hell was tha-AAAHH!" It also made her temporarily lose control of her flight again; luckily, Izuku had her.
Hagakure still felt a bit sheepish though. "Sorry, Kyo!" She yelled out before turning back to her fists with a smile. "Let's see…" And, concentrating, she repeated what she did before and conjured to light gauntlets over both of her fists. "Yes!" Before shooting them both in front of her, creating sizeable dents on the rock pillar she shot them at. "Yessir, this will be very nice indeed."
A way's away from the chartreuse-haired girl, Momo was also creating gauntlets of her own. "Come on, Momo!" However, hers were no small, glove-like coverings; these gauntlets were bigger than her head. "Aha!" They were bulky, royal crimson, gauntlets with golden linings that screamed destruction; a perfect match for the mad princess wearing them. "Genesis Gauntlets…" Powerful as well, as soon as she turned around to strike a stone pillar, it shattered.
As did three stone pillars that were in Tsu's way as she chased down Shoji with a powerful, relentless onslaught of capoeira kicks. "Hippity Hoppity: Froppy Flurry!" Despite how adorable it sounded; it was very effective.
Shoji could tell you that firsthand as two of the six arms he summoned to block the hit broke. "Agh!" He quickly de-spawned them though before looking at the frog girl with a tilted head. "Are you sure you want to go with 'Hippity Hoppity' as your opening for a super move?"
"Kero, the kids will love it when they hear it." Apparently, Tsu was sticking with it; she was done talking as well as she suddenly flashed above her fellow mutant. "Hippity Hoppity: Froppy Droppy!" Before falling down on him with a hard axe kick.
The debris that the frog girl created with that hit almost hit Iida as he was doing his laps around the gym. "Hey! You! Feed the machine!" Of course, he also had his hundred-year-old music in his ears that was giving him a ten percent speed buff. "Bring them all back down to their knees!"
Somewhere else in the gym, Fumikage had wrapped himself with Dark Shadow and taken out his blade. "Have you and Jirou finished flying?" The katana itself gained a glowing purple edge in response to the raven teen's quirk.
"Yeah, she says she's gonna stick to ground moves for the rest of the day." Meanwhile, Izuku floated down and held his own katana in an Iaido stance. "So we've got the rest of the day to do this." His blade's edge glowed a dark forest green within its scabbard, waiting to be unleashed.
It didn't have to wait much longer as the two rushed forward at the same time, clashing their blades against each other so hard that the clang could be heard across the entire gym.
"…" The action made Aizawa's eyes twitch, but he said nothing and just left to watch another student. 'At the rate they're going, they're going to be on par with heroes like Hawks, Finn, and Link.' That thought made his lips quirk upwards just the tiniest bit. 'They're all going to be great.'
1A Dorms, Common Area, Night
"Thank you all for coming here." Akira started as he looked out at all his classmates in their pyjamas. "I know you're all tired but I thought that we'd want to get this all out of the way as quickly as possible." He explained. "Especially since it pertains to the exam next month."
Bakugou huffed as he held up a digital clock. "It's past nine, Akira; why the hell do you have me skipping my bedtime?"
The questioned teen did his best to stifle his laugh and continued. "You're skipping bedtime so that we can all help each other push our quirks to a higher level for the exam; where we are right now isn't going to cut it." He waited for reluctant acceptance to flash in the blonde's eyes before smiling and pointing to Izuku. "Courtesy of Izuku, you will all now be receiving comprehensive reports of yourselves; strengths, weaknesses, battle styles, the lot."
Izuku did as his friend explained and handed out a folder to each of his classmates. "Yeah, I've also added a sperate docket in your folder that has ways of mitigating weaknesses and improving existing strengths."
The class accepted the report with a smile and began to silently read over it; if a teacher was watching, they'd be convinced someone had brainwashed their kids. However, it quickly devolved into chaos once they all got through most of their notes.
"Holy crap!"
"Dude!" Kaminari read over his report with stars in his eyes. "This move set sounds sick!"
Momo also looked at hers with apt interest. "Inorganic chemical compounds…" Before she read one specific section and her eyes widened. "Explosions!"
"Midoriya, this is really well done." Ojiro went over the possible tail combinations he could theoretically use and ways of furthering his strength by using weapons with a smile. "You wrote all of this?" He was also absolutely loving the new costume design he was looking at.
Izuku nodded sheepishly. "Yeah, I kinda analysed all of you since the start of the year for this purpose…" He explained, leaving out a certain detail about why he did so. "It's just a fun way to keep my strategic mind in shape." Technically true, but they didn't need to know the real reason.
"Look at my smart little Izuku." Mina certainly seemed fine with it as she mushed the greenette's face together with her hands. "You're a little genius, I couldn't have thought of half these moves on my own!" She hugged him tight before turning around and sitting in his lap before continuing to read her file.
"We're all going to try and see if these moves have validity to them and train on them tomorrow." Akira stated before handing out another few pieces of pad paper. "And we're also all going to be updating costume designs; not that anyone's here is bad, but we all know that they could look better and be more practical."
Iida nodded furiously at that. "Yes, and we could even change them to accommodate these new special moves Midoriya has provided us with!" He exclaimed, tears building in his eyes. "You two are such great class representatives!"
Akira smiled at him before turning to everyone else. "Alright, people, let's get to it!"
"Yeah!"
11,806 Words! Damn, this was way bigger than I thought it would be.
Okay, I am back and we have finally reached Chapter 20! Sorry that it took so long, took a small break from writing to focus on some personal things; it was also a bit exhausting splitting my brain between this fic and everything else I had going on.
First off, sorry if this seemed a bit boring but this was just an exposition chapter; training arc at best. This is mostly just to get a smooth transition from their old lives to their dorm lives.
Second, All Might's retirement; because of it, big man is now a full-time teacher. Furthermore, after doing a bit of thinking, this guy is still an absolute problem for most villains that cross him; quirk or not. He's a seven foot, three hundred kilogram – I make up my own weight here – giant consisting of mostly muscles and he has…
So, yeah, he's still strong, just not world-breaking levels of OP.
If you don't agree… Eh, sorry.
Third, dorm room placement. As some of you may have noticed, they are not the same as they were in the anime. This has close to zero relevance to the overall story and was just a random thing. Not that deep.
Fourth! Super and Ultimate Moves. In the last fanfic, I had them all busting out super moves by the end of I-Island but decided to switch it up this time since I came up with better ones. These new ones will be consistent throughout the story and I actually did plan them; have 'em all on a word document separate to this one.
Finally, the license exam…
Hope y'all are ready for it! Because this was my favourite arc to write last time around! Whoop! Whoop! WHOOP! LET'S GOOOO!
