Gina was getting ready for camp prom with the girls a concerned look on her face, the last few days Ricky has felt distant and I don't know why, it all started when we were talking about when we are gonna tell everyone. (Flashback) "so when are we gonna tell people" Ricky asks as Gina and him swing on the swings outside her cabin "until I'm ready to tell my mom" she says and Ricky gets this kicked puppy look on his face "you haven't told her about us" Gina nods yes "she's very strict on who even is my friends so she would not like me saying you" Ricky misinterpreted this as she was ashamed of him but didn't say anything already starting to run away from his feelings that he didn't even hear her next words "it has nothing to do with she doesn't even thing in good enough" Gina would have kept talking but Ashlyn came down saying "time for lunch." (End of flashback) Gina didn't know he shut down and thought he heard her when she said it's not about him so she's confused about why he's honesty avoiding her, it's subtle enough that you wouldn't know unless you were Gina.
about 20 minutes later *knock knock* it's Ricky at the window "hey Gi I wanted to talk to you" all the girls shouted "no boys" except Gina who just laughed "it's my head" he defended and she saw the smile finally reached his eyes which hasn't happened in a few days, "one minute" Maddox says "come in" Gina says "in private" he seems serious and the color in Gina's face drops for a split second but then she doesn't act like anything is wrong but Ashlyn and Kourtney catch it, "yeah I'll be at the pool in a few minutes" Gina said hoping the memories at the pool would help whatever is plaguing him.
Kourtney and Ashlyn are sitting there after Gina left when Maddox says "that didn't look good" "I've never seen Gina's face drop like that" Ashlyn sits for a second then says "I have" all the girls look at her and she explains. (Flashback) it was about a week after opening night of beauty and the beast, "it's Ricky I'll be back" Gina says as she picks up her ringing phone and leaves the room for about 20 minutes, she comes back with a huge dopey grin on her face which Ashlyn just shakes her head at, when are they gonna just kiss, she thinks, Gina was about to sit down when her phone rings again, Ashlyn was about to make a joke when she saw Gina's face drop to a face full of terrified and devastated, "I uh gotta take this to" she walks out of the room and never returns just goes to bed, Ashlyn swears she heard faint sobs coming from her room. (End of flashback.) "I never figured out who called her" Ashlyn says after she tells the story, "huh I wonder who it was" Kourtney said "it couldn't have been Ricky since she was just on the phone with him and happy as can be" Maddox says "wait Ash remember thanksgiving, she had that look when her mom called" Kourtney said and she was right, "why would her mom dampen her mood so much" Ashlyn says "and make her cry" Maddox adds "yeah and all the other times her mom called she was happy" Maddox thinks for a second "was that the only time she called after Gina was talking to or about Ricky" Ashlyn shook her head no "then it still has something to do with Ricky" Maddox concludes "it's like she was expecting something to happen" Ashlyn says remembering her having a similar look on her face when she was talking to Ricky and Nini was brought up "so something happened with Ricky that would make her think something bad is gonna happen" Kourtney says as a statement but it sounds like a question "yeah" all the girls come to a silent agreement to keep an eye on them tonight.
Gina walked to the pool worry evident on her face, once she got to the pool she saw Ricky "hey sweetie" she said as she sat next to him, "hey Gi" he kissed her cheek, "what's up" she asked "Carlos told me that there is gonna be a trailer for the documentary in a month and that maybe a part was filmed from behind a bush" Ricky says remembering when Carlos said that he felt sick and he didn't know if it was about the trailer or the fact he just ate 3 pizzas. "Oh thats fine nothing to worry about" she says treading carefully knowing something in the conversation about the secret part of their secret relationship a few days ago left him to be distant, "ok then nothing to worry about" he still seems sad and Gina was about to ask what's wrong when Jet comes over, "I can't believe I let you talk me into this" Jet says as he approach's them "it will be fine come on" the boys left and Gina headed back to the cabin only to be kicked out by Jet and she knows Ricky has most likely just changed another persons life knowing how hard he is helping Jet fix his relationship with Maddox.
Ricky, Carlos and E.J were sitting at the punch bowl when E.J says, "ok time to run some lines" Ricky rolls his eyes but knows he won't get him to stop trust me him and Carlos tried, they run a few lines when the girls walk in, Ricky chokes on his drink when he sees his stunning girlfriend (it's the outfit from the show) god why must she torture him with outfits like that, "hello boys" Gina says albeit a bit flirtatious, "wow" Ricky says voice squeaky "uh" he tries to recover "you good Ricky" Gina says a smile on her face "yeah just polyester you know" she nods and is about to say something when the girls pull her away. "Wow Ricky you are terrible at hiding your emotions" E.J says chuckling "shut up" Ricky lightly swats his arm and E.J just shakes his head fondly, "seriously be careful, if you hurt her I will kill you" Ricky gulps at E.Js threat and nods then E.J just walks off to run more lines leaving a wide eyed Ricky and a laughing Carlos.
the night goes on Ricky and Gina dance a bit but not to much trying not to cause suspicion, when it's the last dance Gina doesn't care what anyone thinks she wants to dance with her boyfriend but can't find him, she goes to the backstage area or whatever you call it to find him sitting alone drinking his punch, "what's going on Ricky" Gina asks as she sits next to him "your obviously keeping something from me" and he was it was obvious but she can't find out what, "oh so now you don't like secrets" he says bitterly standing up and creating space between them, "so that's what this is about I knew it, I told you Ricky-" he cuts her off "I know your ashamed of me so just spare me" Gina gets mad how could he think so lowly of her "you really think I would be so cruel" Gina asks voice raising "oh come on why else would you not tell your mom about me" Gina scoffed "I told you it's because nothing is good enough for her and I didn't want her very cruel words messing with what we have" Ricky softens a bit but still angry "then why not tell anyone else" Gina sits there contemplating what she says next "you really want to know" he nods and before she can get anything out Seb walks in "there you guy- oh sorry" he walks away and Gina now unable to hold back her tears walks away "Gina" Ricky calls but it goes unheard and Gina grabs her things and leaves the barn not wanting to see or talk to Ricky right now.
Ricky really messed up he knew as soon as he saw the tears in her eyes but he was so blinded by the fear of her leaving him he just yelled and he shouldn't have, he's walking back and goes into his cabin to find E.J, "hey" E.J looks at him worry in his eyes at the puffy ones Ricky has "rough night" E.J asks "well pretty sure Gina is never gonna talk to me again" E.J just has a shocked look on his face but before he can say anything Seb comes in saying Carlos wants to do the water tradition.
Gina sits on the swings for a while then heads back to her cabin to find all the girls there "hey" she notices something is wrong but just stands there putting her things away "what's wrong with you" Kourtney asks voice slightly shaking, "I hurt the man I love" she knew she had the right to be mad at Rick but she knows she hurt him deeply, all the girls slightly gasp but don't say a word, "hey Kourt can I borrow your prayer" Ashlyn asks. (It goes like it does in the movie till the song ends) Gina was walking back with Ashlyn and Kourtney, Maddox went off to talk to E.J about something, Ricky walks past and Gina and him make eye contact but he just puts his head down and keeps walking, she's thankful that Kourtney and Ashlyn just look at her with a look of concern but don't say anything.
They both silently cry themselves to sleep.
