(SEQUAL TIME!!!!!! Idk how I feel about this chapter but I hope you all enjoy it! This is also gonna serve as a setup for my post epilogue story I plan on doing later. Thanks again for reading!)
The Alarm went off waking up a certain illusionist.
"Ugh..." Gus said as he struggled to get up having not slept too well due to being out late the other night.
The night before he attended the wedding of Luz and Amity along with 90% of The Boiling Isles. It was the big talk of the town due to it being the first wedding of a human and a witch in centuries, along with it being the wedding of the human who saved The Boiling Isles made it an even BIGGER event. After the reception, Gus volunteered to help Eda and some of the others clean up the aftermath. The clean-up took a while so Gus didn't get to sleep until past midnight. Gus was walking to the University of Wild Magic where he was a teacher. Teaching students knowledge of the human realm.
"Yo, Gus!" He heard Willow call for him from behind looking as sleep deprived as he was. "Sleep well?"
Gus shook his head, "Not really, got home a lot later than I wanted to."
"Me too." Willow replied with a yawn, "But it was worth it, it was a beautiful wedding and a great reception."
"Speaking of that, have you heard from our favorite newlyweds?" Gus asked.
Willow pulled out her penstagram, "Luz's last post was her and Amity arriving at their honeymoon destination."
Gus smiled and shook his head, "Knowing them they're probably already planning on designs for a new home for them to live together once Luz is done with school. They are moving really fast. Probably gonna come back with multiple kids." Gus laughs at his joke and so does Willow. They both knew Luz and Amity were smart enough to have kids right away.
"Nice one, Gus." Willow stops laughing to catch her breath. "But really though, they deserve all this. After everything that happened with Belos 4 years ago, Luz having nightmares about it for a while, all her human school responsibilities, and not to mention that deal with Odalia knowing about the wedding and trying to break it up. They deserve all this time to just be together and plan their future."
"You're right Willow," Gus agreed. "They do deserve it."
Willow then sighs and looks to the sky. "Makes me wonder if Hunter wants to settle down," she said not realizing she said it out loud.
"Ooooh," Gus said with a smirk "You want you and Hunter to get hitched huh?" Willow starts blushing at Gus' tease.
Willow knew she and Hunter would soon have the same desire to get married and start a life together. But Hunter has been very busy with the Palisman carving since new witches are popping up fast and Willow is preparing to get a Flyer Derby team at Hexside. Needless to say, they have both been busy. Before Willow could say anything else Gus' Penstagram went off.
Gus got out of his pocket and read the message, "It's from Eda, she's asking me to see her before my class. Sorry Willow I need to go" Gus said as he started to pick up the pace.
"See ya, Gus!" Willow yelled and waved as he headed off.
After they went their separate ways Gus arrived at Eda's office. He went in to find Eda with an ice bag to her head.
Gus chuckled at the sight. "Too much apple blood?" he joked
"Didn't sleep great," Eda groaned, "I have something to tell you, I meant to tell you this yesterday but the festivities made it slip my mind."
"Ok?" Gus replied, confused
Eda sat back and took a deep sigh "We have a witch who wants to be a teacher but needs some experience. So I offered her a chance to learn under a teacher here and she specifically asked for your class."
"So I'm gonna have a student teacher?"
"In a nutshell, yes." Eda replied, "You don't mind do you?"
Gus shook his head, "I don't mind, just wish I had more time to prepare."
"Sorry."
"It's ok, I don't blame you for forgetting, We had more important things going on yesterday." Gus replied before heading to his class
Gus arrived at his classroom and noticed that the door was slightly cracked. He opened it to find an old classmate of his standing by his desk.
"Cat?"
Cat smiled and waved, "Hey Gus!"
Gus was more confused than he'd ever been, "What are you doing here?"
"I'm your student teacher!" Cat replied.
"Really?" Gus replied back, "Didn't expect it to be you."
Cat was a little taken back by that statement, "I-Is that a problem?"
"No No No!" Gus frantically replied. "I'm just confused on why you picked my class."
"Oh!" Cat replied. "Well, I want to be a teacher and I have a newfound fascination for the human world and wanted to learn more about it. So I figured this class would be the best for both of those things."
"How did you get the fascination?" Gus asked
"Willow," Cat replied, "She would take about your time in the human realm and it just caught my attention!"
Gus just took in everything Cat was saying. It seemed to him that she was very passionate about this.
"Sounds good," Gus said, taking his seat at his desk. "The class starts soon so you make yourself comfortable. I'm gonna close my eyes for a bit before the class. I had a late night "
Cat lightly giggled, "Yeah, I heard that the wedding went on for a while."
"Yeah," Gus replied letting out a yawn, "Now that I think about it, you weren't there."
"I was just so excited about starting this to say that I forgot about it," Cat then handed Gus a fresh cup of coffee made from the coffee maker he got from the human world, "Here ya go!"
"Thanks," He said looking at Cat a bit confused. "How did you learn to use that?"
Cat giggled a bit in response, "I got here like an hour before you did, I was so eager to get started and I toyed with the machine for a bit."
Gus laughed at her, "I appreciate it but you're here to learn not to be my assistant. You don't have to get me coffee."
She pulled up a chair and sat next to him "It's ok, I want to help you out as much as I can!"
The students started coming into the room and it was time to get the class started. Gus thought to himself that maybe having Cat here wasn't a bad idea at all.
(AT HEXSIDE)
"Ok! When I see her I'm gonna ask." Skara said to herself.
Skara was currently a teacher of the Bard track at Hexside and when she's not at Hexside she was part of Willow's flyer derby team. Unlike Gus and Willow, Skara left the wedding a bit earlier so she was fresh as a daisy. Skara needed to talk to Boscha about something and it couldn't wait so she made her way to the Grudgby field before her class. She arrived at the practice field and to her shock, Boscha was not there. Instead there was another woman.
"Excuse me?" Skara said to the lady. "I'm looking for Boscha, the coach of the team. Do you know where she is?"
The woman just looked at Skara with an annoyed look, "She's taking time off. I'm the temporary coach."
This took Skara back a bit, "What?! Why?!"
The woman groaned now super annoyed at Skara, "I don't know! She didn't say anything! Now, if you'll excuse me I need to get back to the team!"
Skara was again taken back this time at the woman's rudeness. Skara went to her class and sat at her desk and checked to see if Boscha posted on penstagram. The last post was the selfie they took with the newlyweds at the reception. Something wasn't adding up and it was worrying her. However her students started coming into the classroom and Skara had a job to do. Hopefully, she was worrying for nothing.
