Day 1: December 1st

Sharon and Andy had both decided in early November to do an Advent Calendar-type of gift exchange with each other over the course of the twenty-four days leading up to their first Christmas together.

Today, Sharon found a smallish white box on her desk. They'd been working a case, but she was pleased to see that despite the busyness, Andy hadn't forgotten about their little gift exchange.

Nevertheless, she picked up the box and sat down in her desk chair to open it.

When she opened the box, she was met with tissue paper inside.

Whatever was inside must be breakable, she thought.

Sharon carefully pulled out the tissue paper clad object and set it on her desk.

As she opened the tissue paper, she found the most beautiful crystal angel ornament inside.

Wow, she thought. He really did know her well, despite them only officially dating since July.

Of course, there was that bit of time where Andy was staying with her and Rusty at the condo after his injury and while he was recovering from his surgery.

He'd probably noticed all the angels in her bedroom.

Still though, he had noticed small details like that and that warmed her heart to no end.

She looked up from her gift to see Andy standing at one of the windows to her office.

She mouthed "thank you" to him and blew him a kiss since nobody else was watching.

Andy caught the kiss next to his heart and then turned around to sit down at his desk and figure out what exactly was going on with their latest case.
