Fujimura Momo ran out of the house, swearing to herself. Over the vacation, she had trained herself in the art of waking up on time for school. Today, it's the first day of her 1st year of high school and unfortunately for her, all of the training she went through was all for nothing. As usual, she was running late.
"Momo? You're late too? Well, you're always late," a voice said right next to her.
Momo stopped and faced Matsuoka Takeru, the person who had just spoken. "You're late too!"
Takeru, her next door neighbor who was running next to her stopped running. The both glared at each other and closed the space separating them. Their fists were clenched and lighting was passed between the both of them.
"Guys, cut it out!" Another voice cried.
With a quick "hmph!," they turned around and saw two girls approaching them.
"You guys are always fighting over the littlest of things, almost like a married old couple," Okami Sakura, the one who had spoken up, said as she shook her head.
"Shut it, old hag!" Momo and Takeru hissed simultaneously.
A mad mark appeared on Sakura's forehead. "Me!? Old hag!? At least I got common sense! I'm not an idiot like you two!"
"Who you calling dumb!?" Momo and Takeru yelled simultaneously once again.
Morimito Shizuka, the girl who had arrived with Sakura, cleared her throat. The other 3 stopped fighting to look at her.
"We're already late so shouldn't we just focus on getting to school when its not too late?" Shizuka suggested.
"Oh yeah!" The 3 cried before running off. Shizuka joined them.
The four of them entered their homeroom classroom as soon as the late bell rang.
"Safe!" Takeru and Momo cried at the same time.
"Alright class, take your seats," Ms. Morimito said, clapping her hands.
Sakura, Shizuka, Takeru, and Momo quickly scurried to the nearest available seat along with the rest of the students who were bullshitting around. Shizuka bore a strong resemblance to Ms. Morimito, most likely because Ms. Morimito is actually her mother. Plus, to add on, Takeru and Shizuka were cousins, meaning Ms. Morimito is Takeru's aunt. The situation would be beneficial if it wasn't for a fact that Takeru had a reputation for being a disruptive student. After hearing all of the stories of Takeru acting up from the other teachers, Ms. Morimito made sure that her nephew was in her class in order to make sure he's well behaved.
To get her goal across, Ms. Morimito sent Takeru a glare from her side of the classroom to the back of the classroom where Takeru sat. He shivered as a response. Shizuka, meanwhile, sweat dropped. She knew that a situation like this was bound to happen.
Ms. Morimito wrote her name on the board. "As we all know, I'm Ms. Minamino. From now on, I'll be your homeroom and math teacher until the school year is over. I'm about to pass out your schedules but before that, let me introduce a new student to Verone. You may come in."
Verone Academy was what you would call a private school. The school had an elementary, junior high, and high school division and the boys and girls were split up. Instead of taking entrance exams to get into a high school, students could simply pass into the high school. Due to this, it was pretty rare for a new student to come in. As a result, the students of class 1-7 payed close attention as the new student entered the classroom.
"Woah, she's so beautiful!"
"How can anyone look like that!?"
"Yo, she should let me take her out on a date sometime!"
The new student walked over to the chalkboard and wrote her name: Irisawa Akari.
She bowed. "My name is Irisawa Akari. I was born and raised in Manhattan, New York City prior to coming here. Please treat me well."
Immediately, the class cheered, excited for the attractive new student Irisawa Akari to join their ranks.
Irisawa? Momo wondered. I swear...I've heard that somewhere...but I can't figure out where...
"Finally!" Momo cried as soon as she came home after a long day of school. "Why is school so damn long...?" She grumbled to herself as she walked upstairs.
She passed her parents' room which had its doors wide open. She was about to enter her bedroom when she decided to stop by and let them know that she was back. The door was wide open and the usually tidy master's bedroom had clothes, shoes, and other random objects laying all over the place. A suitcase was sitting on the bed.
Oh yeah. Dad's travelling again, Momo remembered. It was common for him to travel. He was a professor and was often the supervisor for study abroad trips.
Then, across from the doorway where she stood, she noticed that all of the drawers in the dresser that specifically belonged to her mother were opened, even the one drawer her mother kept locked with a key. A cat-like smirk formed on Momo's face. That drawer was never opened...but now that it was...who was she to pass up on the opportunity?
She tip toed-skipped over to the dresser. Then, with her hands behind her back in order to not leave any footprints, Momo peaked into the usually locked drawer that was out wide.
A flip phone? She even squinted her eyes in order to make sure she wasn't missing anything. The phone was a flip phone, a device that people didn't really use anymore, not counting those bendable phones that were in. But this phone looked like a toy. The weird thing about it, however, was the fact that it was placed on a tiny pillow. Then, there were cards resting next to the phone.
"What are these cards...? They look like playing cards..." Momo mumbled to herself, reaching into the drawer.
"Peachy!" Her mother called out, calling Momo by her childhood nickname.
Momo's fingers were a nanometer away from the cards but she quickly retracted them and turned around so she was facing her mother who had just entered the room. Her mother, who was a lawyer with her own practice, narrowed her eyes at Momo, her eldest child.
"What are you doing?" She sharpened her gaze. "Now you know how I feel about snooping."
Momo put her hands up in defense. "I wasn't snooping!"
"Right. Sure." Her mother placed her hands on her hips. "If you're not here to help your father and I pack for his trip, then leave and do something productive with your life."
Momo saluted before she scurried out of the room. Once she was gone, her mother sighed and looked down at the phone in the drawer.
"That was careless of me leaving this open," she said, closing it. "Mepple's asleep, thankfully. I don't want Peachy to know about him and that other world."
Momo's mother, Fujimura Nagisa, tucked a piece of her hair behind her ears. "And I hope that other world does not come looking for her..."
But yeah! The ultra amazing girl group POPPY is going to have aconcert soon! I'm so excited!" Sakura told Momo over the phone.
Momo was in her bedroom. Her phone was placed on her bed and Sakura was on FaceTime. As Sakura rambled on, Momo was busy putting up LED strip lights along the walls, a task she had been putting off for months after she received the lights for Christmas. She was standing on a desk as she focused on making the lights stick on the wall. Another section had been completed but this section in particular would not stick.
"Okay! Perfect!" Momo hopped off the desk and looked up at her lights with a proud smile on her face.
"You're not even listening to me!" Sakura cried.
"Girl, yes I am!" Momo cried without facing the phone.
Then, the lights peeled off from the wall and fell onto the ground.
Momo glared at them. "Useless piece of shit...!"
Suddenly, she noticed something flashing out the window from the corner of her eye. She quickly scurried over to the window and gasped.
"Sakura! Sakura! There are shooting stars outside!" Momo yelled, opening the window.
Tokyo's nighttime sky was decorated with stars streaming across the sky as if they were the tears of the gods. A sight like this in Tokyo, however, was rare. In fact, it was Momo's first time seeing a phenomenon like this.
"So stars really do look like diamonds..." she mumbled to herself.
Then, she noticed a star getring closer and brighter. Wait...is it coming for her...? "...eh?" Momo answered, clearly confused.
"EEEEHHHHHH!?" She cried as soon as it headbutted her, the force knocking her out.
A little while after she was knocked out, Momo found herself sitting on the floor with an envelope on the floor. She had no idea where it came from, only that it was in her hands when she regained consciousness.
"Alright. A random letter...please tell me this isn't some prank from the Dozen Devils..." Momo mumbled to herself, referring to her younger siblings.
After a quick look around the room, she opened the envelope and read the letter that was neatly folded inside.
Fujimura Momoka,
Congratulations, you are a Precure. Haven't you notice something strange about you? How about a weird shaped birthmark? That's proof. Since you have been chosen by Leo to be a Precure, your duty is to protect other citizens of the Garden of Rainbows' dreams. A dark organization called the Dark Zone has reappeared into the world and is now praying on the dreams of humans. Each time you save a dream, you gain a Dream Token. These Dream Tokens may seem small but they are worth a lot of value. You Precure must defeat the Dark King and destroy the Dark Zone for good. But the one with the most Dream Tokens will have their deepest wish granted as a reward. I hope this will motivate you to protect your fellow humans and find the best way to destroy the Dark Zone. Once you have finished reading this letter, your fairy will appear. Any questions you may ask your fairy. Your fairy will also train you into becoming the best Precure you can possibly be.
Good Luck, The Queen of the Garden of Light
"Sweet, I have a fairy!" Momo cried. She put the letter down and waited for a fairy to appear.
Nothing happened.
"Duh. It's literally just the Dozen Devils fucking around with me," she mumbled, crumbling the letter and tossing it into the trash bin before turning off the lights and going to bed.
As soon as the lights went off, the letter began to burn, except smoke was not emitted from the fire. The fire itself was blue and blue specs of dust floated out from the fire and the burning.
Momo slowly opened her eyes and yawned.
"It's about time you woke up-mumu," a voice said from right next to her.
Momo cautiously turned her head, only to see a plushie. It was pale blue with droopy rabbit styled ears. It had a black moon symbol on its forehead with decorations. It also had a tiny puff tail. She didn't remember getting a plush like that.
"This is what I get for waking up early. I start seeing random shit..." she mumbled, going back to sleep.
"Wake up, I have to talk to you about something important-mumu!" It cried, hitting her with its soft hands.
Momo sat up in bed. The plush lost its balance so it started moving around until it was balanced. It then cleared it's throat.
"Greetings-mumu. I am Captain Moonshine of the royal army of the Garden of Light-mumu. I am also your fairy-mumu." The plush, or fairy, named Moonshine smiled proudly. Momo froze.
"Wow-mumu. No screaming-mumu? I was actually expecting you to be freaking out since it's not everyday a fairy appears before you-mumu. Yes-mumu! I have a mature Precure-mumu! I'm one step closer to becoming like Sir Mepp-" "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Momo screamed as she jumped out of bed.
"OH MY GOSH ITS A FUCKIN TALKING PLUSHIE!" She screamed as she threw things at it.
"H-hey-mumu! Watch the face-mumu!" Moonshine cried as he dodged. Momo started reciting prayers as Moonshine dodged while talking to her.
"Well, at least I got your attention-mumu. I should explain exactly what's going on-mumu. Precure are the legendary warriors-mumu. They have great power-mumu. But, as times change, so do Precure-mumu. They have different threats, powers, so many things-mumu. For you, it's despair-mumu. Humans are always having dreams, making wishes and setting goals-mumu. But, the obstacles in their way cause them despair, and we defiantly cannot have that-mumu. Precure are warriors of hope, meaning they spread hope-mumu. You figh...ahhhh-mumu!" Moonshine dodged the pair of sneakers that Momo had chucked at him.
Momo crouched down. "Am I going...crazy...? The envelope...it mentioned something about Precure..."
"Hey, I'm hungry, can I get some food-mumu?" Moonshine said in the background.
Momo ignored him. "And that Leo chose me..."
"Oh, you have the Mark of Leo-mumu? Great-mumu. Now I need to deal with a fire sign-mumu," Moonshine said with Momo ignoring him.
"So then...I'm this...Precure...thing...?" Momo wondered out loud.
"I really wanna see Sunshine-mumu..." Moonshine mumbled.
Momo sighed and finally acknowledged Moonshine. "You have a lot of explaining to do!"
"I'll do it-mumu! But let's look for Sunshine-mumu!" Moonshine cried.
"We can look for Sunshine later!" Momo cried.
A few hours later after school had ended, Momo found herself walking all over Tokyo in search of Sunshine. Momo had left Moonshine earlier in her room and had forgotten about him until when he ambushed her the moment she walked into her bedroom. And so, in order to receive an explanation as to what was going on and hopefully figure out how to get rid of him, Momo agreed to look for Sunshine.
"You sense her yet?" Momo asked with Moonshine clutched in her arms.
"I think so-mumu...?" Moonshine responded with uncertainty.
Momo frowned. "What do you mean? I thought you could track her!?"
"No-mumu," Moonshine answered.
Momo scrunched her nose. "The fuck is that supposed to mean?"
Moonshine frowned. "But I know Sunshine-mumu! Trust me, I'll know it when she's near-mumu!"
They turned into an alleyway, walking until they stopped at a dead end.
"Oh look! Wonderful! A dead end!" Momo yelled. "Can we fucking go home now!?"
"What? But it would be a shame," a voice said from above. Momo turned around and the kabuki masked guy appeared in front of her.
"Cure Black...? No...you look way too young," he said.
"Who the hell are you!?" Momo asked.
"Oh, I am Pisard. I have come back from hell to serve my Dark King and get my revenge on Cure Black and Cure White. Speaking of those pesky Precure, they are not here. Do you mind handing me your fairy? The Dark King needs that fairy," Pisard asked.
Momo tightened her hold on Moonshine and backed up until her back touched the wall.
"Moonshine-sunny!?" A voice cried.
Momo, Moonshine and Pisard looked over to the source of the voice. It was coming from the plush new student Irisawa Akari was holding...the plush Irisawa Akari's holding!
"Irisawa...you got one too...?" Momo asked.
"Cure Black, then Cure White!? No, it's been 30 years, could you perhaps be their daughters?" Pisard asked before shaking it off. "No matter! Give me your fairies now!"
"No-sunny! Don't give us to him-sunny! Run away-sunny!" Akari's plush, or fairy, cried.
Pisard held out his hand and a green magic circle appeared, aiming at Momo. "Give me your fairy now!"
"Hey! New kid! Can you catch!?" Momo called out to Akari, hoping she could throw her phone to her.
"Of course not, idiot! Why!?" Akari answered.
Wow. This is my first time hearing her talk. I thought she would be nice but she's so damn rude! Momo thought before tuning back into the current situation.
"New plan: Run!" Momo started running and quickly grabbed Akari's arm so she was running away with her. Soon, the both of them were running all over Tokyo while Pisard chased after them.
Then, he vanished.
Momo and Akari stopped running and looked around their surroundings. They were standing in the middle of a crosswalk. They quickly crossed the street in order to avoid getting ran over.
"Did we lose him?" Momo asked.
"Nope," Akira answered, pointing.
Momo looked in the direction that Akari was pointing in and saw that she was pointing at an alleyway. Pisard was in the alley and was holding a lightbulb with a flickering dim light coming out of it.
"No-sunny! He has a Soul Bulb-sunny! You have to get it away from him-sunny!" Akari's fairy cried.
Momo and Akari glanced at each other before they walked into the alleyway.
Now how the fuck am I gonna get that tiny thing out of that man's hands? Momo wondered.
"Do you hear that?" Akari asked.
Momo was about to ask "hear what?" when she realized that she could hear it as well.
"I can't do this anymore! I just can't! I wish...I wish I was a better mother, that I can provide for my children...I wish I was rich!"
"This is a Soul Bulb. Every human has one. The dimmer it is, the more despair the human has. Once the light it out, the human will die. But the light diming and flickering is perfect for me." Pisard glanced at the body of an office worker leaning against the side of a building.
Momo gasped. "Is she dead!?"
Pisard covered the bulb with both of his hands. "May your dreams fall into an eternal black hole!" Then, he uncovered the bulb. The once dim golden light was now emitting a black light. Then, he threw it at the woman. The bulb sunk into the woman and suddenly, the woman transformed into a black monster with demon horns and black tentacles.
"Embrace your inner demons! Daemon!" Pisard yelled.
The monster roared. "Daemon!"
Momo slowly backed up, staring up at the Daemon in shock. "What the fuck..."
"Hahahaha! Daemon, get me those fairies!" Pisard ordered.
"Irisawa! We have to run! Now!" Momo yelled.
She and Akari ran out of the alleyway. Unfortunately, they went in different directions. Momo was under the impression that Akari was behind her until she looked back. Akari was nowhere in sight.
"Where did she go!?" Momo cried.
"The Daemon must be with her-mumu!" Moonshine cried.
"What the fuck is going on...!?" Momo cried.
"Go find her-mumu! She can't do this by herself-mumu!" Moonshine cried.
"I can't do this either!" Momo cried.
"Go-mumu!" Moonshine yelled.
Momo sighed. "Fine."
She decided to do the trick she always used when she played hide and seek with Takeru, Sakura and Haruka when they were young. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and concentrated. She felt many people's energy around her, but they weren't the energy she was looking for. Akari's energy was kind of cold, but it was warm, weak but not too weak, smooth, fragile, it was hard for Momo to explain, all she knows is that she'll know when she feels it.
She opened her eyes. "Found her!"
The streets had citizens running away and everywhere was a mess thanks to the Daemon. News and police helicopters were flying around the Daemon in an attempt to deal with the Daemon.
"Gotta find Irisawa. Gotta find Irisawa. Gotta find Irisawa," Momo kept on repeating as she pushed through the crowd that was going in all sorts of different directions.
"Found you! Finally!" Momo cried, catching Akari in the park.
"And the Daemon has found us!" Akari cried, pointing at the Daemon.
It was a few miles away from them but because it was big, it could clearly spot them. The Daemon roared and changed its course to it would go after the both of them.
"It's a sad thing-sunny," Akari's fairy said. "The light in that woman's soul bulb was already dim but in order to create this monster, Pisard took advantage of their despair and tainted the light-sunny. In order to save her, we have to purify the light-sunny."
"And how do we do that!?" Momo cried.
"Simple-mumu! Transform into a Precure-mumu!" Moonshine cried.
Momo and Akari looked at each other in confusion. "A Precure?"
"The Precure are warriors of light and their job is to bring light-sunny. In this case, the both of you will have to become different types of Precure since the Precure of the past never had to do this before-sunny. The both of you will become the type to fight the inner demons of the citizens of the Garden of Rainbows, bringing hope and color back into their world-sunny!" Akari's fairy explained.
"Just get straight to the point and tell us how to transform! Quick!" Momo cried.
"Look at your phones!" Moonshine cried.
Akari's fairy transformed into a phone, much to Akari's surprise. Then, Akari and Momo crowded together and looked down at their phones. A few extra apps suddenly appeared on their home screens.
Momo groaned. "What? I barely have any space left. Now there are more apps being added to my phone?"
A miniature version of Moonshine ran across the home screen, causing Momo to jump.
"Haha-mumu! Back in the day, you needed the queen card to transform-mumu. But now, all you need is the queen app-mumu. Tap on it and say 'Precure: Aurora Change-mumu!'" Moonshine explained.
Momo was skeptical but she and Akari did it anyway. Akari visibly cringed while Momo opened her mouth to say what was on her mind.
"Umm...okay...this is we-wait!" Momo's arm acted on its own, angling the phone as if she were taking a selfie. Akari's arm did the same thing.
"Why's this happening?" Akari asked.
Momo tried to forcefully put her arm down. "I don't know bu-Precure: Aurora Change!"
And just like that, they were sucked into their phones.
Momo's originally wavy ginger hair turned into snow blue wavy hair left down with some up in a bun with little braids going down with the rest of the hair. She wore a cropped black blazer top with a midnight blue tie peeking out from the white dress shirt under the blazer. She wore a short midnight blue skirt with a cross slit on the right side, revealing a pair of black safety shorts inside, and golden designs along ends of the skirt. She had on black thigh high stockings and black platform combat boots. Her phone turned gold and transformed into a badge that had the Leo zodiac symbol on it. The badge was placed on the left size of her blazer. "The emissary representing the zodiac Leo! Cure Moon!"
Akari's originally straight jet black hair turned into wavy blonde hair left down with some in a ponytail held by a rose pink bow. She wore a cropped white blazer top with a rose pink and golden sash going down from the top right to the bottom left and a rose pink tie peeking out from black dress shirt under the blazer. She wore a rose pink skirt with golden designs aligning the bottom and a lacy white layer was underneath the skirt. She had on white thigh high gladiator sandals. Her phone turned gold and transformed into a badge that had the Aquarius symbol on it. The badge was placed on the left side of her blazer. "The emissary representing the zodiac Aquarius! Cure Sun!"
The girls came together and posed. "Together we are Precure!"
Then, they took one look at each other.
"Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Look at you ahaha! You look so goofy! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Moon laughed.
"Stop laughing! You look more ridiculous than I do!" Sun cried.
"I can't! Ah, I can't!" Moon wheezed.
"Ha ha," Sun remarked sarcastically. Then she gasped. "The Daemon!"
The girls quickly jumped out of the way right when a tentacle swung at them.
"Woah! I can jump high!" Moon cried.
"That's because you are a Precure-mumu!" Moonshine cried as Moon landed.
Moon landed on her feet and looked around. "Yo! Where did you go!?"
"I'm in your badge-mumu!" Moonshine cried.
"Now the both of you have to use your powers and defeat that Daemon-sunny!" Akira's fairy cried.
Moon and Sun frowned as they looked at each other before they looked at the Daemon.
"And how the fuck are we supposed to do that!?"
Episode 1: A Shooting Star LITERALLY Fell Out of the Sky
Wassup! It's me, sugarsugarrush!
This story has been around for 7 years but I was never able to finish it because I kept on changing the direction. But now, I'm really going to make sure I finish this. The 12 year old me who was so excited when she first typed up the original chapter of this is crying right now because her story is not finish. Since the theme of this story is about dreams and wishes, I will make 12-year-old me's wish come true.
Anyway, the themes of this story are wishes, hopes, dreams, the Solar System and other celestial bodies, jewels, the zodiacs, goals, and mental health. Yeah, there is already a space-themed Precure series but I started this years ago so I will commit to finishing it.
PS: Cure Moon and Cure Sun's precure outfit designs are based off of Cure Black and Cure White precure outfit designs.
PPS: Akari was originally named Akira but I changed it because there's another Precure named Akira.
Disclaimer, I DO NOT own Precure.
Hope y'all like this! I hope that this version of the story will be a lot more better than the other two versions before this (yeah, there were 2 versions). Later, yo!
