A/N: A little continuation of the episode Doctor's Disorders. I hope you like it :)

"Still technically not a cry for help." Danny said.

"Don't you think that it's kind of ironic that Tucker is the only one who has to stay in a hospital now?"

"Well, maybe it will help him get over his fear of hospitals." Danny shrugged.

"Or he will be even more scared of them." Sam added.

A comfortable silence settled between the two best friends after they had shared a smile. Danny looked at Sam from the corner of his eyes and thought over their whole experience.

"You know, I was really worried about you."

"Not as worried as you were about Paulina." There was something in Sam's voice that made Danny think that this wasn't Sam's usual antipathy towards the popular girl.

"That isn't true and you know it."

"You seem happy to see her when you entered the room and you said that you wouldn't mind being locked up with her." They had stopped walking and Sam had now crossed her arms over her chest, clearly defensive.

"If I remember correctly the reason why I entered the room in the first place was because I heard YOU scream. I came in there because I thought that something bad had happened to YOU, not Paulina." Danny explained.

At his words Sam turned away from him so that he couldn't see her blush. The goth girl had to admit that he had a point there and hearing that he came for her and not for the popular girl made her heart beat faster. Still not facing him, she uncrossed her arms and took a deep breath before sitting down on a nearby bench. She had been so focused on their conversation that she hadn't realized that they had entered the park.

"Can I ask you something?" Danny asked softly and sat down next to her. When Sam nodded he continued. "What did Spectra say to you?"

Sam thought about it for a moment before facing Danny, her blush gone.

"I don't know. She just complimented a few of us on some traits that we have."

"Like what?" Danny asked interested.

"Well, she said that Dash has great muscles, that Paulina has almost perfect skin and she complimented me on my unique eyes and praised Jazz for her intelligence."

Danny chose that moment to look deep into Sam's eyes.

"Unique and beautiful." He whispered.

"Did you say something?" Sam whispered back just as softly. She had been too distracted by his blue eyes to pay attention to what he had said.

When he heard her voice, Danny snapped out of the daze that Sam's eyes had put him in.

"I'm just glad that nothing happened to you." His smile was accompanied by a blush and a second later a similar blush was staining Sam's cheeks.

Both of them were glad that for once there would be no picture on a certain PDA of their blushing moment number who-knows-how-much.

Tucker had to stay in the hospital for another week and when Sam and Danny visited him the next day, he couldn't help but tease them when he saw them.

"You two seem even closer than before. So are you enjoying your alone time without me, lovebirds?"

His words were followed by his friends blushing and quickly denying it.

"How I miss those blushy moments between you two." Tucker laughed and pulled out his PDA.

The next two days passed almost peacefully until Danny and Sam were chasing a ghost and Valerie showed up. Danny didn't really need to kiss Sam as a distraction, but then again he had longed to kiss her again for so long. The moment when their lips met, Danny's heart beat faster and he pulled Sam closer. When she returned the kiss, it gave him hope that maybe things would change between them. However when they pulled away, Sam complimented him that he had been thinking quick to initiate the fake-out make-out. Her words upset Danny, but he didn't say anything.

Little did he know that Sam was hurting herself with her own words. She had enjoyed their kiss and had longed to press her lips against his as soon as they had pulled away. However she knew that they were best friends and that this was all that Danny saw in her.

Another three days without Tucker went by and Paulina noticed how close Sam and Danny had gotten and that the goth girl was happier, which made Paulina want to wipe that smile right off of her face. The only way that she could anger Sam was obviously with the guy who was making her so happy.

When Paulina saw the two walk down the hallway to lunch, she approached them with a flirty smile directed at Danny.

"I would normally never consider it, but it's your lucky day, Danny. Want to sit with me at lunch today?" She batted her eyelashes at him and moved closer to him.

"Paulina, I-..." Danny began.

Sam already knew his answer to that question and turned away. The last thing that she wanted to see was these two together. Scolding herself for having thought that something between them had been changing in the last few days, she tried to push her sadness aside. Danny had always liked Paulina, that wouldn't go away just because they had spent some time alone together and shared another fake-out make-out. What had she been thinking? Without giving Danny and the popular girl another glance she walked away.

"Sam, wait." Danny called and wanted to run after her, but a hand on his arm stopped him.

"Don't worry about her. Let's go." With that Paulina dragged Danny away.

The rest of the day Sam avoided Danny. Considering how close they had been the last few days, seeing him with Paulina had hurt Sam. Why was it always her that Danny gravitated to? Sighing she made her way to Tucker. He would be released today and she had promised to help him.

Tucker was more than happy that Sam was coming to get him, but when he saw the look on her face, he knew that something was wrong, so he asked her what he had missed.

"Nothing much. You know, just the box ghost being annoying and Dash being stupid and Danny still being after Paulina."

"You think that Danny still has a crush on Paulina?" Tucker asked surprised. Since they had been alone without him, each time they had visited, they had seemed even closer and Tucker had been sure that before he got home they would finally end up together.

When Sam told him about her school day and what had happened, Tucker sighed. It sounded like Danny had been more forced by Paulina than going willingly with her. Tucker knew for sure that Danny had lost any lingering feelings for Paulina and was only interested in Sam. Then again it wasn't hard to see why Sam thought otherwise. Trying to do some damage control, Tucker secretly texted Danny to come here.

It took only a few minutes until his other best friend showed up and Sam wasn't happy about it. However before she could storm away, Danny spoke up.

"I'm sorry, Sam. I didn't mean to leave you alone today. Paulina dragged me off."

"What a miserable destiny. I'm sure that you were so upset when the girl with the almost perfect skin dragged you off." Sam rolled her eyes.

"Almost perfect?" Tucker asked confused, but was ignored by his best friends.

"So what if she has perfect skin? That can't compare to your beautiful and unique eyes."

Once again Danny had spoken before fully thinking about his words and with amusement Tucker watched them blush and shyly look away from each other.

'What would those two do without me, the good looking smart Tucker.' He thought to himself before going over to them.

"It's good to be back." He smiled brightly at his still blushing friends and lay his arms around each of them.
