"Here we are! Deco City, my home!" Opal announced to the group. The group looked out at the flashy big city in front of them. The lights, the building monitors, the architecture, the shopping... Oh! It would put cities like New York City, Las Vegas, and Tokyo to shame. "This is where you live?!" Amy exclaimed with sparkling eyes. "Well, until I relocated to Jewel Manor. Io and I plan to return here when we take out that nasty Lilia," Opal explained.

"Wow! This place looks amazing, doesn't it Sonic?" Tails asked, but he didn't have a response. "Sonic?" Knuckles pointed towards a nearby hot dog cart. The wiener dog who owned the cart looked at his latest customer. "Can you do chili dogs?" Sonic asked. The others saw this and began to laugh; luckily their friend was too preoccupied to hear them.

The group suddenly heard a voice from the biggest screen in the building. "Hello, Deco City!" They saw a lady with pink hair on the monitor. She wore a lab coat, glasses, and lots of fabulous accessories. "It's me, Professor Decorisky, and it's time for another Deco Minute!" "Who is that?!" the Mobians asked in unison. "You guys must be new here, yami!" a male voice said. "Wait. I know that voice," Opal realized. She looked in the nearby alley and saw a figure walk out. With a happy smile, she hugged him! "Coal-sama! Oh my! It's been so long!" Everyone else stood in silence. One thing was clear; Opal knew who that was... (Capybara yami) Oh right! Thanks, Coal... Did he just break the fourth wall???

Adventure in Deco City! KiraDeco Five and Deco Black!

Opal looked at the group with a sheepish smile. "I met Coal-sama during my goth faze," she explained with embarassment. "I feel embarassed about some of my choices during that time, but Coal becoming my friend was what turned my life around." "The city life sounds tough...," Ruby commented. "Maybe it is, but you must be proud of where you come from, yami," Coal stated. "Why do you keep saying 'Yami' at the end of your sentences?" Knuckles asked. "It's his catchphrase; some of the Jewelpets do the same thing," Charotte explained. "Yeah, like our old friend Io still says 'dachi,'" said Opal.

"What about Angela and Labra?" Larimar wondered. "I mean Angela says 'paca' quite often and Labra says 'Labu.' But I haven't seen them at the manor." "Labra couldn't bare to part with her partner, and Angela's...," Ruby began before she paused. "... uhhh... she's..." Ruby just gave a nervous laugh as she rubbed the back of her head. Opal sighed and looked at Coal. "So why did you stay in the city, Coal-sama?" she asked. "Well...," Coal began, but was soon cut off when they heard a scream.

MINAKO!!!

The sudden scream of a lady prompted them to look up at the nearby building, 18 stories high. At the top, a young lady was looking down with a face of fear and worry. The group gasped at what they saw. On a flag pole, by the ninth floor, a little girl was dangling for her life as she held onto the pole. "Mommy! Help me!" she cried with tears falling from her eyes. At the top of the building, the little girl's mother was held back by two other people.

"Don't jump! You could get killed!" "Don't be a fool!" "But my little Minako!"

Suddenly, the pole breaks as little Minako starts to fall. Just then, a red light catches her eye. The light is actually a young teen boy in a red sci-fi hero's outfit. He places her safely on the ground as she looks up at him. "Are you okay, kid?" he asks. She gives him a happy nod.

"Minako!" her mother called out as she opened the door to exit the building. (Yikes, she must've been traveling at the speed of light to get to the bottom floor) Minako and her mother happily embraced each other. Minako and her mom looked at her savior. "Thank you so much for saving my daughter, Red." Her mom thanked him. He gave a salute as he answered, "Just doing my job, miss!" He then dashed off.

The group watched this moment in awe, yet no one held more admiration than Coal. "That was Red, leader of the KiraDeco 5 yami!" he exclaimed with sparkly eyes. "The what?" Sonic asked. "I know about them. They're the heroes of Deco City." Opal answered. Luckily for them, a video on the building monitor plays and it's about the KiraDeco 5. They see 5 young kids in superhero outfits giving heroic poses.

"The calm knight willing to protect others. The Azure Knight, Blue!"

"The slow life easy-goer, Yellow I guess."

"Our shining eyes look into a shining future; Defenders of Deco City! We are the KiraDeco 5!"

The Mobians sweatdropped at their introduction. "So they are superheroes, right?" Tails said with exasperation. "The group founder Professor Decorasksy, who's a distant cousin of Lady Jewelina, created special outfits to give them special powers." Coal said. "I've always wanted to join the KiraDeco 5." He suddenly deflated. "But I can't..." "Why not? If it's about no superpowers then-" Opal began, but Coal raised his paw. "I happened to know where Pink lives and works, so I went there yami."

Flashback

In a shop called Kira Deco Boutique, Pink is meeting with Coal in the back.

"How did you know?" she asked him. "Well, you and Professor Decorisky are sisters and your name is Pink. But the shop name yami...," Coal said as he paused. Pink realized what he meant. "Well, my big sister owns the store, so...," she responded nervously. "So why are you really here?" "I want to join the KiraDeco 5 yami!" he declared. This caught her off guard. "I've stayed here to help the local heroes instead of staying at Jewel Manor like my friends did. I even have my intro ready! Wanna hear it yami?!"

Pink flailed her arms as she said, "Could you settle down a minute?" Coal looked at her as she cleared her throat. "I appreciate how you feel. But we already have members. And we're called KiraDeco 5." Coal suddenly froze in shock. "Yami..." was all he could say.

Flashback ends

"So they only refused because there's 5 members?" Sonic asked with annoyment. "Well, with all the craziness of Lilia's Gemdemons and the rise of crimes, they probably just wanted to keep me outnof danger yami," Coal responded. Opal could see the sadness he was hiding in his smile. She wishes he could smile again like he did when they met again...

Lilia's rule has promoted crime in the city for many criminal gangs have formed. A large number of them have been arrested or reformed, but not one gang... for their leader had become their current biggest nemesis. This ruthless individual was a female serpent dressed as a dark sorceress. (though she was a snake, she had arms and legs with sharp claws) She was on the phone with someone right now. "Is everything ready?" she hissed. "Almost, but we may have to switch to the backup plan, Boss," a male voice said from the other end. He then asked a question. "But why do we need him if we're after-" He was cut off as she hissed at him. "That's not your concern! If we do this plan right, I will finally destroy the KiraDeco 5!" "Are you going to laugh?" he asked. "Are you going to do the plan or not?" she snapped. "I'll take that as a no." He nervously hung up. Her face gave an evil smirk and she gave a short yet sinister chuckle.

At the Deco City's theater, the actors onstage are performing a play. Suddenly, the cables holding up the lights break and fall. Luckily, one of the male actors saved the lead female from being crushed as he jumped and grabbed her before they fell. The fallen lights began to spark and explode in flames. Everyone started to panic as they fled the theater. But the two actors got trapped by fallen debris!

Back with the group, Coal suddenly looks alarmed as he smells the air. "Fire. There's a big fire yami!" he yells. Everyone looks in the direction where he is sniffing. They see a trail of smoke coming from the theater. They then see that Coal has already headed for said building and follow him.

When they got there, they saw a huge fire as firefighters were putting it out. Along with police officers telling people to stay back, they also saw members of the KiraDeco 5 helping out the people who were injured or had inhaled too much smoke. Wait, there were only 3 members?

Coal noticed Pink looking at the building with worried eyes. "Pink, hurry up!" he called out to her. She noticed him and hurried over. "Coal, why are you here and who are they?!" she asked. "Why are you so worried Miss Pink?" Cream asked. "When we got here, we heard that two actors never came out." Pink explained. She let out an exasperated sigh as she continued. "Red as reckless as ever rushed in to get them." She then looked worried. "I'm honestly very worried." "We'll get him!" Sonic stated. He was about to rush in when Amy, Tails, and Knuckles tackled him to the ground. "Sorry, Sonic, but it's too dangerous!" Amy said as the trio restrained him.

Coal looked at Pink, then at the flaming building. His face changed to determination, and his body shone. The group and Pink stared at him as he began to change.

Magical Change! Deco Black! Yami!

Coal now wears a black version of the KiraDeco 5 as he poses. "Deco Black to the rescue, yami!" he declares as he suddenly dashes into the building. "Coal-sama!" Opal screams. Garnet and Speck hold her back so she won't run after him. Inside the building, Red is on the verge of choking as he tries to remove the debris. He knows the actors are on the other side, but the smoke is making it hard to breathe.

Coal Charm! Black Eater!

The smoke suddenly disappeared around the area, and Red's lungs suddenly felt clear of smoke. Deco Black approached him. "Hurry up! We must save them!" Deco Black reminded him as they cleared a way to the actors. "Come on!" Red called out as he extended his arm. The male actor held the female as he climbed out and grabbed Red's hand.

Moments later, the female actor was rushed into an ambulance as the male actor talked with the KiraDeco 5 and Deco Black. "She'll be okay, and it's thanks to you guys," he said to them. Red shook his head and said, "The real hero was Deco Black." He petted Deco Black on the head. Opal held a proud smile and held back happy tears as she saw how brave and heroic Coal was.

Some time later, the KiraDeco 5 and the group are getting acquainted.

"Really, Yami?!?" Deco Black asked with sparkling eyes. "You certainly proved how brave you are," Red responded. "But how can we let him join if there are six of us?" Pink asked. "How about we change our name?" Yellow suggested. "Yeah!" Green agreed. "We can call ourselves KiraDeco6!" Everyone agreed with the idea.

Unknown to them, nearby inside a slightly dirty white van, a shady looking thug viewed the group with a pair of old binoculars from the driver seat. He looks over at Sonic. "That's him, guys," he tells the three guys in the back. "But if we grab him, ... he has strong self defence," stuttered the shivering short guy. (He has a black toadstool on his head) "You have point Spore, even if you're a scardey-cat," said the other shady thug. The shady black cat (the size of a man) glared at him with his claws extended. "Watch it, Mack! You know I hate that word!" he hissed. "Slasher, Spore, Mack!" the driver called out. "Give me the smoke ball that crazy duck made then get ready for the Open and Snatch manuever! I have a better idea..." "On it Mick/Bro!" they confirmed. (Mick and Mack are twin brothers)

Back to the group

"Kira Deco 6, I like the sound of that," Pink commented. "I like it too because you all made my dear friend so happy!" Opal cheered. "I'm so happy that we're all happy," Cream rejoiced as she hopped up and down. "All we need to make it better is a chili dog," Sonic commented. "Can we go eat?" "Sounds good to me. Helping to save the day has made me hungry yami," Kira Black agreed.

Suddenly a purple orb is thrown towards them and it explodes into blacl smoke. The van drives over to them and the three guys open the car's side door with a sinister plan. The group tried to find their way through the smoke.

Coal Charm! Black Eater!

The smoke is suddenly sucked into Deco Black's mouth and the area is cleared. They see the van beside them with the side door closed as it drove off. Knuckles looks down to see who stepped on Jasper's tail. "Oops. Really sorry, buddy," he apologized as he got off it. Jasper holds his tail. "Don't worry about it," Jasper forgive. "Oh my, you saved the day again!" Opal cheered as Deco Black looked embarassed. "Hey Tails, what caused you make me and Garnet fall off your shoulders?" Speck asked... only to hear silence...

"Tails?" everyone said at the same time. Their friend was nowhere to be found. Sonic looked down and saw a small card. It's dark green with menacing yellow slit eyes; a thin red ribbon is hanging from the bottom. "What's this?" he asked as he picked.it up. Pink looked at the card, and her eyes widen in horror. "That's the calling card of the Dark Asps!" she realized. The rest of the team gasped while the others looked confused. "The Dark Asps is a gang run by our current biggest nemesis, Slivia the Serpent," Red tells them.

"HELP!" they heard Tails' voice call out. They saw the van suddenly rush through a red light and caused two other cars to crash into each other. "Come on, we better make sure no one got hurt," Red commanded as the KiraDeco 6 went over to the accident. The others all realized what just happened.

"The Dark Asps just kidnapped Tails!" Garnet screamed.
