Chapter 8: Rescuing the Observers
Digi-Central, Digital World
Daytime
After the team defeated the rampaging Kimeramon at Junk Factory, Zeo, Gaius, Akira and Regina returned to Digi-Central after using a Gate Disk. Upon arriving back safely, they were met with Miku, Kanade, Serena, Yumi, Kuriyo and Shiori, along with Terriermon the Gatekeeper.
Terriermon
Type: Vaccine
Level: Child
Terriermon is a cute bipedal canine with white fur that is striped with green on its collarbone, paws, and the tips of his long, frayed ears, a solitary horn on his forehead, and has black toes and pawpads.
"Oh good, you guys made it back safely." Terriermon greeted the arrivals as he tapped some buttons on the holo-screen. "I was waiting for you to come so I can temporarily seal off the Warp Gate."
"Wait, seal off the Warp Gate?" Regina repeated. "Did something happen while we're busy with Kimeramon at Junk Factory?"
"The Warp Gate system to travel to the other areas is starting to malfunction because of a virus suddenly appearing." Miku explained.
"We just got here after we finished our personal stuff until Terriermon informed us about the situation." Serena added.
"And we can't return to the real world until that virus is dealt with." Kanade added.
"...So it has begun. Unknown-D has made his move." Zeo thought as he, Gaius and Akira frowned. "Though now that I think about it, his name was not mentioned by the evil Digimons we've encountered in this adventure so far. Is he starting to become clever with keeping his identity a secret?"
"Great. Juuust great. Just as we're about to have another adventure in the Digital World, this happens." Yumi complained. "Can the bad guys just leave us alone for like… never?!"
"It can't be helped, Yumi-chan. There's bound to be those kinds of people appearing when we least expected." Shiori stated.
"At least the Alca-Noise wasn't involved with this incident. But being trapped inside the Digital World is not a good thing either." Kuriyo remarked.
"Just be glad that it's not like Sword Art Online. That would really suck if that were the case." Gaius thought.
"Anyway, we'd better go see ClavisAngemon and see if there's something we can do to resolve this incident." Miku said.
"As much as Kuriyo, Shiori and I would like to join you, the three of us need to attend a meeting with Yuji at Tamer Plaza." Yumi said.
"Understood." Zeo noted. "Best of luck, girls."
"Same for you guys too. Have fun kicking more bad guy butts." Yumi smirked as she and Zeo shared a fist bump. Afterwards, the three Lydian students left for Tamer Plaza while everyone else head for Union Office.
Observer Room, Union Office
Upon arriving at the Observer Room, they saw ClavisAngemon, Houki, Cecilia, Laura, Kiana, Bronya, Yae Sakura, Gunvolt and Copen waiting for them. But the most unexpected part was the appearance of the Digimon Administrator.
"Mirei-san?!" Miku gasped in surprise. "Why are you here?"
"ClavisAngemon called me here to help with the situation." Mirei replied. "Not only that, I'm not risking my work to be tampered by that virus."
"That's why we had to postpone our searching duties until the incident is resolved." Laura added.
"Meaning we can't continue our search for Hibiki and the others." Bronya also added.
"All the more reason to deal with that virus immediately." Copen stated.
"Hibiki… Chris-chan…" Miku whispered.
"Maria-neesan… Kirika… Shirabe…" Serena also whispered.
"Don't give up hope, you two." Kanade spoke to the two Attuned. "As soon as we eliminate that virus, we can go back to looking for our friends. Okay?"
Miku and Serena shared looks with each other after hearing Kanade's statement before they answered with a nod. "That's better." Kanade smiled.
"So how are we going to deal with that virus?" Regina asked.
"It's not just one virus you need to deal with." ClavisAngemon spoke up while tapping a few buttons on his console. "There's actually four of them. I'd request your team to split up and search those four areas at once, but for safety reasons, I can only temporarily open the Warp Gate for one area."
"Did the Observers took notice of those viruses?" Cecilia asked.
"They did, all four of them. But after a long while of waiting, they never returned."
"Meaning something must've happened to them during the investigation." Houki deduced.
"My thoughts exactly." ClavisAngemon nodded.
"Why do I get the feeling that those viruses are going to take hold of the Observers?" Kiana pondered.
"That's most likely the case, meaning you'll have to fight them in order to free them."
"Fortunately for us, the Rebellion have been promoted to Gold Tamers which will give us access to Ultimate Levels, thanks to you guys." Gunvolt said, looking at Zeo, Gaius, Akira and Regina.
"You're welcome, by the way." Regina winked.
"So where should we start?" Miku asked.
"We'll go to Azulongmon's location first since he's the first Observer we've met." Zeo answered.
"Very well." ClavisAngemon nodded while pushing buttons on his console. "I'll send you the address to Sky Palace, Azulongmon's last known location." Moments later, the Digivices let out a ring. "I would suggest deploying a small team to investigate the area."
"In that case, I'll bring along Miku, Yae Sakura and Kiana." Zeo decided.
"Alright, then I'll take Serena, Cecilia and Regina for the next area." Akira also decided.
"Then I'll be taking Kanade, GV and Houki for the third area." Gaius also decided.
"The Bronya, Copen and Laura will remain with Mirei to oversee Warp Gate systems while creating an anti-virus to protect Digi-Central's main systems." Bronya said.
"Fortunately the Farm Gate is working normally, so you're free to use the Digi-Farm as you see fit." Laura added.
"Thanks for the heads up." Zeo noted. "As soon as I get Caliburn, my team will head for Sky Palace."
"I'd better go to the Digi-Farm too and get Huckbein on board." Gaius said.
"Very well." Mirei nodded. "You'll need all the help you can get."
"Zeo-san. Kiana, Sakura-san and I will wait for you at the Warp Gate until you're ready." Miku said.
"No problem, I won't take long." Zeo replied. "Alright, let's move out!"
"Hai!" Miku, Kiana and Sakura replied as they, Zeo and Gaius left the room.
"Best of luck out there, brother!" Akira said with encouragement. "Anyway, my team would like to search for Ebonwumon after my brother's team is done, if you don't mind."
"Understood." ClavisAngemon nodded. "Ebonwumon's last known location is in Tropical Isles."
"What about Baihumon? You know where he is?" Regina asked the angel Digimon.
"His last known location is in Hard Mountains, an arctic area."
"I guess that's the place Houki, Kanade and I we'll be going to with Gaius later." Gunvolt deduced.
"Until then, we'll have to wait for Zeo's team to complete their task." Copen said.
Sky Palace, Digital World

After Zeo stored Caliburn into his Digivice at the Digi-Farm, he regrouped with his chosen teammates and used the Warp Gate to head for their next destination: Sky Palace. Upon arrival, they looked at their surroundings, realizing that they were indeed on a large palace area high in the sky.
"So this is Sky Palace…" Sakura observed. "I wonder how high are we?"
"Very, VERY high, so don't look down too much." Kiana replied.
"This sky area is even higher than what the Jade Chamber in Liyue can reach." Miku remarked.
"Yeah, I miss the Jade Chamber. Ningguang and the Liyue Qixing are going to be very busy coming up with a solution to build another one. It's already been two months." Zeo said before shrugging. "Oh well, no choice but to be patient and wait."
"Anyway, this area is big, but so is Azulongmon so we'll have no trouble locating him." Miku stated. "I just hope we can find him before the virus gets to him first.
"If that happens though, get ready for a really tough fight against a Sovereign Digimon." Sakura said as she and the others called out their Digimon partners. "Kyubei, I know you're still a Perfect Level, but I'm sure you can handle it."
"Not to worry, Sakura-sama. As a Taomon, I'm up for the challenge." Kyubei the Taomon replied.
Taomon
Type: Data
Level: Perfect
Taomon is a humanoid Digimon with fox-like characteristics. She wears a white onmyōji robe with vertical plates on the shoulders, the Sanskrit character emblazoned on the front, the yin-yang symbol on the chest and shoulder plates (beneath three red wisps in the latter instance), and red and white triangles on the ends of the sleeves, baggy purple pants, and a tall black and purple hat. She has white three-fingered hands and white, three-toed feet with black claws and black paw pads in both instances, a yellow furred tail with a white tip, a yellow fox-like face with purple markings on her cheeks and forehead, white-tipped ears, and has black eyes with indigo irises.
"What do you think, Talia? Considering you're an Angewomon now." Kiana asked.
"Feels like I returned home from the looks of this holy place." Talia replied. "And I'm sure Kyubei feels the same way."
Angewomon
Type: Vaccine
Level: Perfect
Angewomon is a tall, slender, woman-like Digimon with fair skin, long blonde hair, and a silver helmet that covers her upper face. Her outfit is a skin-tight white bodysuit that covers half of her body with white high heels, and wears the Ten'ne characteristic of Tennin. She also has eight white dove-like wings with four on either side, and wears a Holy Ring on its left ankle.
"I'm not sure how I'll feel about fighting any wild Holy Digimon living in this area." Doruguremon said with unease.
"No need to worry, Doruguremon. You're free to fight the wild ones as you wish, we won't hold it against you." Talia assured with Kyubei nodding.
"Oh good." Doruguremon sighed with relief.
"Still, this place has a lot of strong Digimon we need to go through before we could locate Azulongmon, so this could be a good place to train until we have enough experience to reach Ultimate Level." Caliburn stated.
"And I can already tell what your Ultimate Level looks like, partner." Zeo thought while smiling at Caliburn.
"Alright, let's get started." Geno declared as the team ventured through the open palace.
During their search for the missing Sovereign Digimon, they encountered/scanned the wild Digimon consisting of Unimon, Taomon, Piximon, Angewomon, and Diatrymon. Several minutes later of venturing while dealing with the wild Digimon, they reached a light green teleport beacon. After entering the beacon, they were warped to a large area on higher ground surrounded by water where they saw the missing Observer above them.
"There you are, Azulongmon!" Zeo called out. "We've been looking all over for you! Are you alright?"

"Wait." Sakura narrowed her eyes. "Something's not right. Can you feel his aura right now?"
Kiana followed Sakura's warning before frowning herself. "...Sometimes I hate it when I'm right. He's been corrupted by the virus, guys!"
And true to Sakura and Kiana's words, Azulongmon roared with hostility while letting out a dark aura.
"Azulongmon, calm down! It's us!" Miku shouted to the Observer, but it fell on deaf ears.
"Words alone will not be enough to free him, Miku." Talia stated as she and the other Digimon partners prepared themselves. "We must fight him!"
"Hate to say it, but Talia's right, partner. It's the only way, as long as we don't kill him by accident." Doruguremon agreed.
"...Understood." Miku noted.
"Here he comes, guys. Brace yourselves!" Caliburn warned the other partners.
Azulongmon immediately unleashed a divine lightning storm from the sky, causing the team to evade.
"Uh, Zeo? I think you should've brought along GV since he can tank those lightning bolts!" Kiana stated.
"Yeah… that's a mistake on my part." Zeo admitted.
"Guess we'll have to shoot him at a distance! Giga Storm!" Geno opened up his missile hatch and fired a powerful beam from it.
"Blinded!" Caliburn followed up by firing a gold beam from his chest with the number '20' on it.
Azulongmon quickly noticed the oncoming attacks and retaliated with a lightning blast from his horn which caused a power struggle.
"Kyubei, Doruguremon, now's our chance!" Talia said, flying to the left side of Azulongmon, conjured up a light arrow with her hands and took aim.
"Hai!/Okay!" Kyubei and Doruguremon complied before the former moved to the right side of Azulongmon, took out a large brush and painted a large Sanskrit character in the air while chanting an incantation. As for the latter, he flew to the back of the Sovereign Digimon and took aim while charging his mouth with energy.
"Holy Arrow!/Bonhitsusen!/Metal Meteor!" Talia and Kyubei shouted as they unleashed their attacks to the Sovereign Digimon from the sides, causing explosions on impact.
Unfortunately, their attacks did nothing as it made Azulongmon even angrier and intensifying his lightning blast, overpowering the beams until the lightning struck Caliburn and Geno, sending them flying till they fell to the floor. As for Talia, Kyubei and Doruguremon, all three of them were taken down by Azulongmon's lightning storm from the sky, sending them falling to the floor.
"They're all taken down?!" Miku exclaimed.
"Damn it…!" Kiana muttered.
"So this is the strength of a Sovereign Digimon…" Sakura remarked.
"Get up, you guys! This fight is far from over!" Zeo shouted to their Digimon partners, slowly getting up after Azulongmon's lightning.
"Gh…! I think it'd be better if we digivolve into Ultimate Levels before facing the corrupted Sovereign Digimon…!" Talia admitted.
"Too late now, I'm afraid…! But we cannot leave Azulongmon in this state…!" Kyubei stated.
"Hate to say it… but she's right…!" Geno said. "We have to do something…!"
"Hm?" Caliburn then noticed Azulongmon charging up lighting from his horn again. "Look out!"
As Azulongmon unleashed another lightning blast, Caliburn rushed ahead of the group and took the lightning by his sword-shaped horn, grunting in pain as lightning crackled through his body.
"Caliburn!" Zeo exclaimed.
"Not… done… yet…!" Caliburn growled, planting his sword tail and sword arms to the ground to stabilize himself. "I didn't come here to die… not when I have so much to do in this world…! Zeo… remember when I said when we first arrived in the Digital World…! I've become strong because of you… and here I am as a Perfect Level… because of all of the adventures we've been through together…! And you wanna know why…?!"
"...Go ahead, partner. Say it." Zeo smiled.
"It's because… I am… THE TWENTIEST!" Caliburn roared as Zeo's Digivice-V on his wrist began to glow brightly, catching everyone's attention.
"What the…" Geno spoke.
"What's going on?!" Doruguremon exclaimed.
"Zeo-san, your Digivice!" Miku gasped.
"I know." Zeo smirked, slowly raising his Digivice. "Break through your limits… Caliburn!"
(Play BGM: MAKUAKE - Digimon Ghost Game)
"Duramon, Ultimate Evolution!" Caliburn shouted as his body exploded with light which blinded Azulongmon, stopping his attack. Caliburn was then turned into an energy cocoon as he body began to change once more. His gold body became larger and taller, with his legs now turned to swords while his sword tail is gone, a large sword on his back, and double-edged axes as shoulder pads. All of his weapons except the large sword have a red circular gem on it. His head still has a horn, a v-shaped crown, red coloring on his face with gold eyes, and a crest of a bird on his chest plate. With his transformation complete, the cocoon exploded, revealing his Ultimate form. "Durandamon!"
Durandamon
Type: Vaccine
Level: Ultimate
"Caliburn… He became an Ultimate!" Geno gasped.
"Incredible…/Whoa…" Kyubei and Doruguremon remarked in awe.
"So that's Caliburn's Ultimate form…" Kiana remarked.
"Durandamon…? Why does it sound like Durandal? A sword relic?" Miku pondered.
"That's because he's both Vaccine and Weapon type. In other words, he IS Durandal." Zeo answered.
"I see." Sakura noted. "In that case, we'll leave this battle to you and Caliburn."
"Don't worry, I get the feeling we're gonna win this." Zeo assured with a thumbs up. "Okay Caliburn, get ready!"
Caliburn flew towards Azulongmon as the latter unleashed lightning storms from the sky. Thanks to his new form, Caliburn was able to dodge every single lightning bolt with incredible speed. One lightning bolt was about to hit Caliburn, but he caught it with his sword arms and redirected it onto Azulongmon's eyes, blinding him on contact.
"Nice move, Caliburn! That should distract him for a while!" Talia said. "Now's the time to defeat him!"
"Caliburn, take mine and Talia's purifying light, and end it in one strike!" Kyubei said as she and Talia transferred their holy energy onto Caliburn's sword arms.
"Ready yourself, Azulongmon." Caliburn said, preparing a stance with his glowing sword arms. "May these holy blades free you from the corruption!'
"Zwei Glänze"
"Zwei Glänze!" Zeo ordered as Caliburn rushed towards his target and delivered multiple slashes on several angles before finishing it with a powerful charged X-slash, causing an explosion of light as he returned to his Tamer. The explosion also caused the dark corrupted aura to vanish, signalling the success of the purification.

"Ugh… My head…" Azulongmon groaned and shook his head as he slowly regained his senses until he saw the team. "Oh, the Tamers of the Rebellion! What brings you here?"
"Good to see you back to normal, Azulongmon." Miku greeted.
"ClavisAngemon sent us to find you since you took too long and never came back." Kiana explained.
"And that virus was the one responsible for that and caused you to be corrupted." Sakura added.
"Don't worry though, the virus has been purged and you're free as a bird." Zeo finished. "...Or dragon in your case."
"I see." Azulongmon noted. "I deeply apologize for causing trouble for all of you."
"Don't worry, that's water under the bridge." Caliburn replied. "On the bright side, I was able to become an Ultimate while freeing you from the virus."
"Then congratulations on reaching your Ultimate Level, Caliburn." Azulongmon complimented.
"Okay, I think it's time for us to return to Digi-Central before any other unexpected surprises rears its ugly head." Zeo declared, pulling out a Gate Disk.
"Ah, there's no need to use that Gate Disk. Allow me to do the honors instead." Azulongmon insisted.
"Are you sure you still have enough energy to warp all of us back?" Geno asked.
"No need to worry. I should be able to perform that task now that my mind is clear." Azulongmon assured, using his powers as a Sovereign Digimon to warp everyone back to Digi-Central.
Observer Room, Union Office
After returning to the Observer Room with a purified Azulongmon, Zeo's team gave Mirei and ClavisAngemon their report on Sky Palace.
"So that's what happened." ClavisAngemon noted. "Then this means that the other Observers have been corrupted by the unknown virus."
"Hmm… whoever made a virus that can corrupt a Sovereign Digimon and hack the Gate Area system must be very skilled." Mirei mused.
"Skilled and dangerous, to be exact." Copen pointed out.
"Regardless, be very cautious when you're rescuing the corrupted Observers. They've earned their titles for a reason." Azulongmon warned.
"We'll be careful." Akira nodded. "Serena, Regina, Cecilia, we're up next."
"Mm." Serena nodded. "Time to rescue Ebonwumon next."
"And according to ClavisAngemon's info, the Observer's last known location is at the Tropical Isles." Cecilia said.
"So we're about to free a giant tortoise next. This is gonna take a while." Regina remarked.
"Okay, I'm sealing the address to Sky Palace and opening the way to the Tropical Isles." ClavisAngemon tapped a few buttons on his console for a few moments until the Digivices let out a ring. "There you go, you're free to enter."
"Best of luck for you and your team, sis." Zeo said.
"Thanks, brother. We'll be back soon." Akira replied as she and Zeo shared a fist bump. "Alright team, let's go!"
"Roger!" Serena, Cecilia and Regina replied as they and Akira left the room.
"So after their mission is done, it's your turn next, right?" Zeo said to Gaius.
"Mhm." Gaius nodded. "My team's going to an arctic area called Hard Mountains to search for Baihumon."
"A giant tiger Digimon…" Gunvolt mused. "This is going to be a tough fight if we're going to free him."
"We have to try though, we can't leave him corrupted or else the Digital World is in serious trouble." Joule stated.
"Joule has a point there." Houki agreed. "It's best that we prepare ourselves before we begin our mission. I think a quick training session might be needed."
"A good idea, Houki." Sakura nodded. "Zeo, since we're done with our mission, perhaps we should help prepare Gaius' team with some training."
"Sure, we've got some time before my sis and her team comes back." Zeo replied. "Digi-Farm or Digi-Coliseum?"
"I think we'll take the Digi-Farm." Gaius answered. "We can't train our Digimon too much or else they'll be exhausted during the mission."
"True." Gunvolt nodded. "Call us when Akira's team comes back."
"I'll send you a message for that. Good luck on the training." Mirei replied before Zeo's team and Gaius' team left the room to train at the Digi-Farm.
"Do you need to rest first, Azulongmon?" Copen asked. "You just got back after being purified and you can't focus properly when you're exhausted."
"Yes, that would be best." Azulongmon replied as he went to his post in the corner of the room and rested with his eyes closed.
"How's the process for the anti-virus program?" ClavisAngemon asked.
"Halfway done, as long as we keep going." Laura replied.
"In the Bronya's calculations, it should be ready by the time Gaius' team left for Hard Mountains." Bronya said.
"Only if we don't get distracted." Mirei stated. "Alright, back to work."
Tropical Isles, Digital World
(Play BGM: Tropical Isles - Digimon World DS)
Akira and her team soon arrived at the Tropical Isles after using the Warp Gate with the area living up to its namesake with several green islands and sand paths to walk on.
"Beautiful…" Cecilia remarked with awe. "A shame we can't stay here for too long because of that virus."
"We'll be sure to come back once this whole virus mess is done with. We do have the address for this place, after all." Akira stated.
"If I recall what Ebonwumon looks like, he's a two-headed tortoise with a forest on his back." Serena recalled.
"A forest on his back…" Regina repeated as she looked at the jungle islands at a distance before sighing. "...This is gonna take a while considering how many islands we need to search. And that Observer knows how to keep himself hidden."
"Well, no point complaining by standing around." Akira shrugged as she and the others called out their Digimon partners. "Time to get to work, Lilac."
"Gotcha." Lilac nodded. "Though we'd better fight some wild Digimon so we can go Ultimate."
"Considering what happened to Zeo's team at Sky Palace, yeah we really need to train." Grandis agreed.
"First Kimeramon and now this. What a mess…" Rui said.
"It can't be helped, Rui. Where there's light, there's also darkness." Helios stated.
"Nevertheless, we will do our duty to protect this beautiful world we Digimon live in." Said Knightmon, Cecilia's Digimon partner. "Is that right, my lady?"
Knightmon
Type: Data
Level: Perfect
Knightmon looks exactly as the name suggests, a knight clad in grey armor with blue eyes, a red crest on the chest plate, a purple and red-accented sash, a sheathed sword on the left waist, and wielding a large great sword on the right hand.
"That's right, my dear Gladys, and I'm really proud you digivolved from Gladimon." Cecilia smiled. "I wonder what your Ultimate Level looks like?"
"Only time will tell if I train more." Gladys replied.
"Kinda awkward for this Knightmon to sound like a girl." Akira thought. "On the other hand, that's a dead giveaway on what her Ultimate Level is. And since she's with Cecilia, I think they'll do just fine."
"Shall we get going, Akira-san?" Serena asked.
"Yes, no time to waste. Let's go, girls!" Akira declared as the team ventured through the islands to search for the missing Observer.
As the team searched through the islands, they encountered/scanned and fought wild Etemon, Rapidmon, and Silphymon. Eventually, they reached the last island at the very end of the area, and after climbing up the ladder and walking through a narrow path, they reached a small jungle.
"Please tell me that the Observer is here…" Regina said with exhaustion.
"This should be it." Akira replied. "He may have a forest on his back to act as a camouflage, but he still has those floating orbs."
"You mean those over there?" Cecilia then pointed at floating orbs around a bunch of trees. And eventually, the trees began to move up, revealing to be Ebonwumon as it approached the team with the same corrupted dark aura as Azulongmon.

"Ebonwumon! Can you hear us?! We're here to help you!" Serena called out to the Observer, but to no avail as it let out a roar.
"There's no point convincing him in that state. We'll have to free him the hard way!" Helios stated as the team prepared themselves.
"Watch yourselves, guys!" Rui warned. "If Azulongmon gave Zeo's team a hard time, imagine what this guy can do!"
"If Azulongmon's element is lightning, then maybe Ebonwumon is water?" Grandis guessed.
"Considering he's a tortoise, I think so." Lilac replied.
"Steel yourself, Sovereign Digimon, we shall free you from your corruption!" Gladys declared, preparing her greatsword.
Ebonwumon immediately made the first move by unleashing raining ice shards from the sky, followed by a larger one. Rui, Lilac and Helios rushed to the corrupted Digimon while evading the ice shards while Grandis and Gladys slashed through the shards instead. Once the three attackers got close, they attacked Ebonwumon on different angles with Rui's Bunny Blades, Helios' Excalibur, and Liliac's Lilac Daggers which are energy blades appearing from her hands. After the corrupted Digimon took heavy damage from the attacks, the forest on his back lets out a dark mist around himself, blocking the view of the Digimon attackers.
"A black mist?" Serena observed the corrupted Digimon being covered in mist.
"I don't like the looks of this…" Cecilia frowned.
"Lilac, Helios, be careful with that mist! Hurry and take to the skies!" Akira shouted.
"Rui, fall back before we can plan a counter!" Regina also shouted.
"What? Regina, I can't hear you!" Rui said as he looked around the dark mist, unable to see or hear anything clearly. "Stupid mist… I really wasn't expecting him to pull off this trick." Unfortunately, he was suddenly struck in the back by Ebonwumon's large energy waves fired from his two heads, sending Rui flying out of the mist and crashed onto Grandis with a large impact.
"No! Rui! Grandis!" Regina gasped in shock that two of her partners were down for the count.
"Using the mist to trap close range attackers before delivering a counterattack. This is one cunning Observer." Akira remarked.
"Not only that, Rui wasn't able to hear Regina's call. This is one dangerous mist." Cecilia added.
Serena gasped. "Wait… that means Helios and Lilac are…!"
"Yeah… this is gonna hurt." Akira winced.
Meanwhile, Lilac and Helios are flying upwards in an attempt to escape the dark mist. Unfortunately, they too were shot in the back by Ebonwumon's energy waves fired from the two heads, sending them flying with Helios crashing onto the unconscious Rui and Grandis, and Lilac sent plummeting into the sea.
"Lilac!" Akira exclaimed, pulling out her PreCards and PreChange Mirror and rushed to Lilac's aid.
"Akira, where are you going?!" Regina asked.
"Saving my partner, that's what! Pretty Cure, Kururin Mirror Change!" Akira quickly undergo her transformation sequence before jumping into the sea as Cure Starlight.
"I hope she'll come back with Lilac." Serena said before looking at her unconscious partner. "Helios is out of the fight too."
"That means Gladys is the last one still standing." Cecilia deduced.
"Uh… girls?" Regina noticed a pair of blue lights appearing from the mist, aiming directly at the unconscious Digimon partners.
"Guys, wake up and run!" Serena shouted to the unconscious group.
"Oh no you don't!" Gladys quickly went in front of the unconscious group with her large shield raised as the energy waves were fired and struck the shield. "Grr…!"
"Gladys!" Cecilia exclaimed.
"It will take more than that to stop me, Lady Cecilia! No one is dying on my watch!" Gladys replied as she kept blocking. "How can I call myself a knight if I cannot protect anyone?!"
"Hang in there!" Regina shouted.
"Lady Cecilia… remember when we first met at Training Peak?" Gladys spoke as she was slowly being pushed back by the double wave. "I was just a Kotemon back then. And as we travelled together as time went on, I grew stronger and became a Gladimon, and then later on, became the form that stands before you. I showed you the beauty of the Digital World, while you showed me the beauty of the real world in return. This gave me a reason why I'm fighting alongside you, so we could protect both of our beautiful worlds!"
"Gladys…" Cecilia whispered.
"I refuse to die here, not when I have things to accomplish in the future. So please… do not give up on me… and lend me your strength… Lady Cecilia Alcott!"
Cecilia was speechless after hearing her partner's words, before answering with a determined nod. "As you wish, Gladys. Push forward and fight, my brave, valiant and beautiful knight!" She raised her Digivice as it began to glow so bright that it not only caused Gladys to glow, but it also blinded Ebonwumon, causing the energy waves and the black mist to vanish.
"What's going on?!" Serena gasped.
"A miracle, that's what." Regina grinned.
Meanwhile at the same time, Cure Starlight dove underwater to save her partner. She eventually found the unconscious Lilac and grabbed her hand before slowly swimming back to the surface.
"Hang in there, partner. I'll get you out." Starlight thought, slightly glancing at Lilac. "To think we're able to make it this far, but I know we can keep going even further than this. We still have much to do after saving the Observers and defeating the one responsible for the virus. No way I'm letting you die here, not on my watch. We're going stick together till the very end, so please, don't give up on me and wake up, Lilac."
Lilac soon opened her eyes slightly and saw Cure Starlight taking her back to the surface. "Akira…" Lilac thought as she smiled before using both hands to hold her savior's hand tight. This caught Starlight's attention as the Digimon gave a nod and a smile, making Starlight reply with the same gesture. This also caused the Digivice to glow brightly as the light enveloped Lilac.

"Lilamon, Ultimate Evolution!" Lilac shouted as she was encased into an energy cocoon. Her body then changed as she grew into an adult with long blonde hair, wears a red strapless leather suit with a long arrow-shaped cut on the front, red detached sleeves, a hairclip with two red roses and green leaves, black boots with high heels that are flower-shaped at the top, a red flower-shaped mask that covers her eyes, and a green and white petal-shaped cape with a yellow "D" on each petal. She also has a yellow vine-shaped whip that wraps her arms and forms an "X" on her chest, and lastly carries a "Tifaret" jewel on her breast. With the transformation complete, the cocoon burst open, revealing her Ultimate form. "Rosemon!"

Her body began to change into a slender form clad in pink armor with a helmet that covers the whole face, gold knee guards, shoulder guards and elbow guards with a sharp spike each elbow, two pairs of body-sash blades, a gold ring on her left wrist and a gold shield-shaped pile bunker on her other arm with a purple cross and a blue gem on the center. With her transformation complete, the cocoon exploded, revealing her Ultimate form. "Crusadermon!"

"Crusadermon…?" Cecilia repeated in awe.
"Amazing…" Serena remarked.
And after Serena made a comment, Cure Starlight and Lilac the Rosemon emerged from the sea and landed behind the team.
"Sorry we're late! But the good news is that Lil- what the heck is that?!" Cure Starlight gawked upon seeing Gladys' Ultimate form.
"That's… Crusadermon of the Royal Knights!" Lilac exclaimed, recognizing the pink knight Digimon.
"Wait, a Royal Knight just like Magnamon and Gankoomon?!" Regina exclaimed.
"That seems to be the case, Regina." Gladys answered. "Oh, and I see you've also became an Ultimate, Lilac. A Rosemon."
"Yes." Lilac nodded. "And I owe it all to Akira for saving me when I'm in danger."
"Hehe, it was nothing." Starlight smiled, rubbing the tip of her nose with her finger.
"Two Ultimate Levels… we might have a chance to win now." Cecilia said as all eyes were on Ebonwumon who managed to regain his sight and roared.
"Come, Lilac. I believe payback is in order." Gladys said.
"That we do." Lilac nodded as the two stood together while the corrupted Ebonwumon unleashed another ice storm from the sky.
"I don't think so. Scarlet Tempest!" Glady used her pile bunker to unleash a powerful whirlwind, redirecting the falling ice shards onto Ebonwumon. "Hmm… it needs a bit more. Lilac, a little help?"
"I've got just the thing. Rosy Cradle!" Lilac unleashed a storm of sleep-inducing rose petals onto Gladys' whirlwind, combining the two attacks together which not only damaged Ebonwumon, but also put it to sleep.
"Alright, he's asleep now! Now's the time to end it!" Serena said.
"Not so fast, we need to heal the others first. Final Aura!" Lilac unleashed a healing light onto the unconscious Digimon partners, recovering their stamina as they woke up.
"Ugh… what just happened?" Grandis shook his head.
"Huh?" Rui blinked as he noticed the two Ultimate Levels. "Wait, Gladys and Lilac?! You two became Ultimates?!"
"?!" Helios gasped in shock upon seeing Gladys. "Crusadermon of the Royal Knights?!"
"Good to see you guys awake." Lilac greeted.
"But our chat will have to wait until we free Ebonwumon. And in order to do that, we'll need your holy light, Helios." Gladys said.
"Understood." Helios nodded, lending some of his holy energy to Gladys and Lilac, causing them to glow.
"Alright, now we can finish this before Ebonwumon wakes up." Lilac said. "I'll take the left head while you go after the other."
"Fine by me." Gladys replied as the two rushed towards the sleeping Digimon.
"Fist of Athena"
"Roses Rapier"
"Fist of Athena!/Roses Rapier!" Cecilia and Starlight shouted as Gladys slammed her pile bunker onto one of Ebonwumon's heads and fired a powerful holy blast with Helios' power, while Lilac delivered a flurry of thrusts on the other head with her whip that turned into a rapier glowing with holy light and delivered one more powerful thrust onto the head, causing Ebonwumon's whole body to explode with light as the corruption vanished while Gladys and Lilac rejoined the others.

"It is done." Helios nodded. "I can no longer sense the corruption in the Observer's body."
"Oh thank Yggdrasil it's over." Grandis sighed with relief.
"Great going, team." Rui said.
"Ugh… Huh?" Ebonwumon blinked in confusion after shaking his two heads with his mind cleared from the corruption. "What just happened?"
"A virus corrupted you earlier, but we managed to free you." Cure Starlight answered before reverting back to a civilian. "Glad you're okay though."
"Ah, so that's what happened. Thank you, Tamers of the Rebellion." Ebonwumon replied before noticing Gladys. "Oh? Crusadermon of the Royal Knights? What an unexpected surprise."
"You can thank my partner for helping me achieve my Ultimate form." Gladys gestured to Cecilia who smiled and nodded. "I'm still Gladys though."
"To be fair, I was not expecting my Digimon partner to become a Royal Knight." Cecilia admitted.
"I see." Ebonwumon noted before looking at Lilac. "And you must be Lilac, correct? Congratulations on becoming a Rosemon."
"Thank you for your praise, Ebonwumon." Lilac bowed.
"Alright, I think we've been in this area for too long. Let's head back to Digi-Central to rest." Regina said.
"Do you think you can warp all of us back to Digi-Central, Ebonwumon?" Serena asked.
"Of course, now that my mind is no longer clouded from the corruption." Ebonwumon replied, using his powers as a Sovereign Digimon to warp everyone back to Digi-Central.
Observer Room, Union Office
As Akira's team returned to the Observer Room with a purified Ebonwumon, they met up with Zeo's and Gaius' team that were waiting for them, while Mirei, Laura, Copen and Bronya are preparing the anti-virus in another area of the office.
"Welcome back, sis." Zeo greeted as he noticed the Observer of the Bronze Tamers resting at his post. "And I see you've managed to free the Observer from the corruption."
"You can thank Lilac and Gladys for that." Akira replied.
"With a little help from Helios' holy light." Serena added.
"Oh, and get this, Lilac and Gladys became Ultimate Levels to free Ebonwumon." Regina said. "And the latter happens to be a Royal Knight."
"For real?!" Zeo and Gaius exclaimed.
"See for yourself." Cecilia smiled, calling out Gladys the Crusadermon.
"Hello, everyone." Gladys greeted, appearing beside Cecilia while holding a rose before putting it away.
"Whoa…" Everyone was in awe at the appearance of another Royal Knight.
"First Magnamon and now Crusadermon. Will wonders never cease." ClavisAngemon remarked. "Could this be a sign of the Royal Knights' rebirth?"
Huckbein then appeared beside Gaius and gazed at Gladys. "Who knows. But it sure seems like it. You look pretty good though, Gladys."
"I think beautiful should be the correct word to describe myself, Huckbein." Gladys replied.
"Anyway, I'm glad you're safe too, Ebonwumon." Azulongmon said.
"Same to you too, Azulongmon." Ebonwumon replied. "But I worry about the other two Observers. No doubt they've become corrupted by that virus."
"Don't worry, we'll free the remaining ones as soon as we can." Gaius said. "That being said, it's my team's turn to look for Baihumon in the Hard Mountains."
"Good thing our team had a training session with Zeo's team before Akira's team came back, so we're more than ready to face the corrupted Observer." Houki said.
"We're not sure how strong Baihumon is, but we have to free him either way." Kanade said.
"Still, like I said before, it will be a tough fight considering he's the Observer of the Silver Tamers." Gunvolt said.
"We're gonna have to try though. Better than leaving him in a corrupted state." Huckbein stated before returning to Gaius' Digivice. "ClavisAngemon, is the Warp Gate ready?"
"Just a moment." ClavisAngemon pushed a few buttons on the console before the Digivices let out a ring seconds later. "Okay, the way to Hard Mountains is unlocked while the way to Tropical Isles is sealed."
"GV, Houki, Kanade, time to move out!" Gaius declared.
"Roger!" Gunvolt, Houki and Kanade responded as they and Gaius left the room.
"So, what now?" Serena asked.
"There's still one more Observer to free after Gaius' team is done, so we need to prepare for that." Zeo replied. "Though I wonder what that Observer looks like?"
"Usually we keep the identities of the Observers a secret unless the Tamers reach a certain rank. But considering the current situation, I think we can bend that rule for now." ClavisAngemon replied.
"His name is Zhuqiaomon, Observer of the Gold Tamers and the Sovereign Digimon that guards the South of the Digital World." Azulongmon revealed.
"He takes the form of a large red and orange firebird. He left to investigate the Lava River in the south, most likely the virus that corrupted us Observers." Ebonwumon added.
"Zhuqiaomon, Lava River, so that's where he is." Akira noted.
"Still wondering where the one responsible for the virus is." Kiana said.
"That search is still in progress, but we'll let you know once we've discovered something." ClavisAngemon replied.
"Understood." Serena replied as she and the others nodded.
"In the meantime, can we get something to eat at Tamer Plaza?" Regina asked. "I'm getting hungry."
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." Zeo agreed. "I could use a break after training Gaius and his team."
"I wonder if Yumi, Kuriyo and Shiori's meeting is done?" Miku pondered.
"We'll find out when we get there." Cecilia replied as Gladys returned to her Tamer's Digivice. "Now then, shall we?"
"Of course. Let's get going." Sakura nodded as the two teams left the room to get some lunch.
Hard Mountains, Digital World

After taking the Warp Gate, Gaius' team arrived at their destination; Hard Mountains, which happens to be an arctic area with icebergs and icy cold water.
"Ugh… the one time my Symphogear is needed to resist the cold." Kanade muttered, rubbing herself to keep being warm.
"Same goes for my IS, but it's still back in the real world and undergoing some maintenance." Houki added.
Gunvolt stared at the icy water with unease. "...Don't tell me we're going to have to go underwater just to look for one Observer."
"I hate to say it, but I think we are." Joule answered.
Gunvolt sighed. "That's what I thought."
"Well, no point complaining." Gaius said as the team called out their Digimon partners. "The sooner we finish this, the sooner we get out of here."
"At least us Digimon can resist the cold… unless some of us are weak to ice or water." Huckbein said.
"Thankfully it's not me." CannonBeemon said.
"Not me either." Garu said.
"I on the other hand, am." Garudamon said. "But I have a few wind skills to use against them instead of fire."
"Better than nothing, at least." Kanade shrugged. "Just don't get hit."
"Fortunately, my form as a Kyukimon is neutral to the ice and water element. Anything involving fire though, is another story." Hyuga the Kyukimon said.
Kyukimon

Kyukimon resembles a Kamaitachi with a pink body and red markings, red eyes, a blue cross on his forehead, a white belly, a long yellow mustache, sickle-shaped claws, and dark blue hair that covers head to toe.
"That's good to know, Hyuga." Houki noted.
"Alright…" Gaius stretched his arms and legs. "Time to get started." Afterwards, the team ventured through the icy mountain area in search of Baihumon.
During their trek, they encountered/scanned and fought wild Andromon, Icemon, MetalMamemon and Zudomon. Along the way, they found another treasure chest, and once Gaius opened it, he was surprised at what he found. "Well how about that! Another Digimental!"
"Ah! I know that one! It's the Digimental of Friendship! I can become Lighdramon if I use it as a Veemon," Magnamon recognized upon noticing it from inside Gaius' Digivice. It was a small yet long black object with a few blue colorings, a yellow and silver lightning bolt-shaped horn and yellow teeth on the front, and grey coloring on the back bottom.
"Congrats!" Kanade grinned. "Can't wait to see it in action."
"Maybe someday, Kanade." Gaius replied, storing the Digimental into his Digivice. "Alright, back to work."
Eventually, they reached a grey warp pipe that leads them underwater. "Maybe we should've brought along some underwater gear before coming here." Houki admitted.
"Oh, don't worry. According to ClavisAngemon, you won't have to worry about drowning considering it's the Digi-World we're talking about here, so you can stay underwater for long periods of time." Gaius explained. "You can even talk underwater for some reason. Just watch out for any aqua Digimon lurking down there."
"That's good to know." Kanade noted.
"Still, I don't think I can use my Septima down there." Gunvolt said.
"Oh well. At least we have our Digimon partners to watch our backs." Joule said.
"Alright, time to go down." Gaius declared as the team went into the warp pipe and arriving in the Undersea Drive.
The team were in awe at how beautiful the underwater area is with numerous wild aqua Digimon swimming around the sea, including a group of Divermon and a large Whamon. "Beautiful, isn't it?" Gaius smiled.
"It sure is." Houki nodded… before blinking in surprise. "Wow, we really can talk while we're underwater here!"
Kanade took a moment to swim for a bit before landing on solid ground. "I can still swim normally too."
"Huh, I thought the water here would be cold since it's the arctic, but I guess not." Gunvolt remarked.
"The wonders of the Digital World never cease to amaze us." Joule added.
"Anyway, as much as I want to have fun here, we have a job to do." Gaius stated. "We can come back here once the virus and the mastermind are dealt with."
"He's right. We have to keep moving." Houki agreed as the team continued their trek through the underwater sea until they find another warp pipe that'll take them back to the surface. They do have to fight a group of wild Divermon along the way, but they're easily taken down considering how strong the Digimon partners have become.
Moments later, they eventually found another warp pipe and went inside, taking them back to the surface of the icy mountains. After exploring further, they found the Observer of the Silver Tamers, who is surprisingly taking a nap. "There's Baihumon!" Houki observed.
"Wait, he's sleeping?" Kanade questioned. "Is he already corrupted or…"
"Hold on…" Joule used her powers to sense any corruption on the Observer. "Mhm. Just like what happened to Azulongmon and Ebonwumon, he's already corrupted."
"I see." Gunvolt noted. "Fortunately, he's still asleep so he should be open to get a hit in."
"Magnamon, you're up." Gaius then called out the Royal Knight to his side. "Hopefully one good hit of purifying light will be enough to free him."
"I'll try. No promises though." Magnamon nodded, moving his hands forward and charged up his light energy.
"Shining Gold Solar Storm"
"Shining Gold Solar Storm." Gaius ordered as Magnamon unleashed his charged light energy into a powerful beam, causing an explosion upon contact to Baihumon's face.
"Did it work?" Huckbein asked as they await a response.
Unfortunately, it's a negative one as the corrupted Observer woke up in a fit of rage along with a glowing dark aura, and unleashed a bronze energy blast at the group with the force of a cannon, causing them to dodge the blast. By the time they turned to the Observer, they saw him retreat deeper into the area.
"Well, so much for freeing him in one shot." Garu remarked.
"It was a good effort though, Magnamon." Garudamon said.
"Thanks." Magnamon replied. "Still, maybe my light weakened Baihumon somehow."
"Hey, look." CannonBeemon noticed the footprints Baihumon left on the ground.
"At least he was nice enough to leave a trail for us to follow." Hyuga said.
"I wouldn't call a corrupted Digimon 'nice'." Kanade sweatdropped.
"Still, we'd better follow the trail quickly." Houki stated as the group quickly followed the trail.
Eventually the trail led them to another grey warp pipe leading back to the underwater area. And after re-entering said area using the pipe, they noticed more of the Observer's footprints on the ground, prompting them to follow the trail.
Moments later, they arrived at the end of the Undersea Drive where they saw a small floating pink legless Digimon with wings and a gold holy ring on the neck watching the battle between Baihumon and a large gold and light-blue highlighted metallic sea serpent with a large cannon for a mouth.

"Okay, was not expecting Baihumon to fight a wild GigaSeadramon." Huckbein observed.

"Oh, a MarineAngemon!" Magnamon recognized. "But why is he watching the battle?"

"No clue, but I don't think it's safe to watch a battle between two Ultimates, especially one that's corrupted." Garu replied.
"Excuse me! MarineAngemon?" Houki called out, earning the pink Digimon's attention, also revealing to have green eyes and a red heart on the chest.
"Oh, humans!" MarineAngemon greeted. "Can I help you?"
"Why are you watching two Ultimates fighting?" Gunvolt asked.
"Well you see, I was planning to fight GigaSeadramon to gain custody of that pretty seashell as a home." MarineAngemon answered, pointing at said seashell at a distance. "But it looks like that big tiger Digimon got to him first, so I'm waiting to fight the victor."
"Wait… You? Fight that?" Houki questioned, pointing at the pink Digimon before pointing at the sea serpent. "Aren't you a Child Level?"
"Ultimate, actually." Hyuga clarified.
"Huh?!" Houki, Kanade and Gunvolt gawked.
"No really, he's an Ultimate Level." CannonBeemon confirmed.
"Don't worry, I can beat that sea serpent, no problem." MarineAngemon proudly proclaimed.
"And the crazy part is, he actually beat him like in the Digimon game, proving that looks can be really, REALLY, deceiving." Gaius thought.
"Listen, MarineAngemon. I know you wanna fight for your home, but that tiger Digimon is corrupted by a dangerous virus, and we're here to free him for Tamer Union." Garudamon explained.
"He's corrupted by a virus?" MarineAngemon gasped.
"Mhm." Gunvolt nodded. "Tell you what; after we free Baihumon from the virus, you can keep the seashell as your home. Sounds good?"
"Well…" MarineAngemon pondered for a bit, until a roar from the corrupted Baihumon gained their attention as GigaSeadramon was defeated. "Looks like the tiger Digimon won." He noted before nodding. "Alright, you've got yourself a deal."
"Guys, how about Garu, Huckbein, Magnamon and I handle this one?" Gaius spoke to his team. "Maybe Baihumon lost some of his strength after fighting GigaSeadramon."
"No problem." Kanade replied as she and the others nodded. "But be careful."
"I will." Gaius nodded back as he and his three Digimon partners confronted the corrupted Baihumon. "Hey! Try fighting my team instead!"
Gaius' call caught Baihumon's attention, letting out a hostile growl. "Be wary of his speed and his attacks. He's not to be taken lightly." Magnamon warned.
"Right!" Huckbein and Garu nodded as the three prepared themselves.
Baihumon made the first move by launching more energy blasts from his mouth as the three Digimon rushed ahead while dodging the blasts. Garu leaped above the corrupted Observer and delivered an axe kick, only for him to get sent flying by the Observer's tail swing with the force of a metal bat.
"You'll pay for that! Plasma Shoot!" Magnamon retaliated by unleashing a storm of ball-shaped plasma that damaged Baihumon, until he countered with a sonic roar that pushed away the plasma storm until it struck the Royal Knight, sending him flying.
"Garu! Magnamon!" Huckbein exclaimed, until he noticed Baihumon with his claws out. "Guess it's all up to me." He deduced, preparing his crimson blades on his arms and took a stance.
The two Digimon stood in silence with both sides awaiting the next move. Soon enough, both Digimon leaped towards each other and clashed, blades to claws. They even clashed with their own tails. During the clash however, Baihumon is getting the upper hand due to his strength and speed despite taking damage from Huckbein and the defeated GigaSeadramon. Eventually, Huckbein was sent flying to the ground by the Observer's sonic roar, taking heavy damage.
"Huckbein, hang in there!" Gaius shouted as his partner slowly stood up.
"Don't worry…" Huckbein replied in exhaustion. "It'll take… more than that… to stop me… Besides… Master Gankoomon… will be disappointed… if I give up now… especially if… there's a chance… to save someone…"
"Huckbein…" Houki whispered.
"Hmm…" MarineAngemon hummed for a moment before speaking. "Maybe I can help him with that. Ocean's Love!" The heart on his chest glowed blue and unleashed a stream of blue hearts onto both Huckbein and Baihumon, causing the former to regain his strength and overflow with energy, while the latter caused his spirit to dwindle.
"What was that?" Gunvolt asked.
"Ocean's Love. MarineAngemon's special skill that causes a Digimon's fighting spirit to be either drained or be revitalized." CannonBeemon explained.
"Wait… that means Huckbein's strength is healed while Baihumon's weakened!" Kanade realized.
"Bingo!" MarineAngemon confirmed.

"Whoa…" Huckbein said in awe as he looked at his body glowing with light, especially the blue crystal on his chest. "Gaius, my body is overflowing with light! I need to unleash it!"
"Say no more, partner." Gaius smiled, raising his Digivice as it glowed brightly.
"SaviorHuckmon, Ultimate Evolution!" Huckbein roared as he turned into an energy cocoon. His body began to grow larger along with his cape, the crimson blades on his feet, arms and tail became longer and sharper, gold clawed hands and knee guards, blue highlights on his wrists and shoulder guards, and DigiCodes on his blades, each with a different description. With the transformation complete, the cocoon exploded, revealing his Ultimate form. "Jesmon!"

"Huckbein reached his Ultimate Level!" Hyuga gasped.
"This power… it radiates the same energy as Magnamon!" Garudamon said.
"Wait, does that mean he became a Royal Knight?!" Houki gasped.
"I think so." CannonBeemon answered.
"If that's the case, then he'll do just fine." Gunvolt smiled.
"Congratulations, Huckbein. You've officially become a Royal Knight." Gaius thought while smiling at his partner.
"Whoa…" Huckbein looked at himself with awe before turning to MarineAngemon who smiled. Huckbein nodded back as a token of gratitude before facing the corrupted Baihumon who roared. "I'm ready for you this time, Baihumon. Prepare yourself!" He declared while taking a stance.
"Gh…" Magnamon groaned in pain as he and Garu woke up before their eyes widen in shock when they saw Huckbein's new form.
"Is that… Huckbein?" Garu asked.
"There's no mistaking it… He reached his Ultimate form…" Magnamon confirmed.
"Heh." Garu grinned. "Then he's got this."
Baihumon roared before charging towards Huckbein who prepared a counter stance.
"Schwertgeist"
"Schwertgeist!" Gaius ordered as Huckbein summoned three small orange familiars with sword arms named Atho, Rene and Por. Then they parried the oncoming claw swipes and countered with a coordinated slash with their nine blades, sending Baihumon flying.
"Huckbein, take my light and end it!" Magnamon said, transferring his golden light onto Huckbein's blade arms.
"Tekken Seibai (Judgement of the Sword)"
"The finale. Tekken Seibai!" Gaius shouted as Huckbein rushed towards the airborne Baihumon at high speeds and attacked him with his glowing blade arms in several angles before finishing it with an X-slash that sent him crashing to the ground which caused the dark aura to vanish.

"Phew… it's over." Huckbein sighed with relief. "Are you feeling okay now, Baihumon?"
"Urg… gah…" Baihumon groaned in pain before shaking his head and back on his feet. "What in the world?"
"You were being corrupted by a virus. Good thing we managed to purify you." Gaius said as the team regrouped.
"So that's what happened." Baihumon noted. "Ugh… I must've gotten careless to be corrupted like that. Still, thanks for the help."
"You're welcome." Houki replied as she and the others nodded.
"Though you should also thank MarineAngemon for giving Huckbein a boost to free you from the corruption." Gunvolt said, gesturing to the small pink Digimon.
"He's not with us, just a wild Digimon fighting for home ownership." Kanade added.
"I see." Baihumon noted. "You have my thanks MarineAngemon."
"It was nothing!" MarineAngemon smiled. "So can I have my home now?"
"Of course, it's all yours." Baihumon replied.
"Thank you!" MarineAngemon cheered as he went to rest at his seashell as his new home. "Ah… so relaxing."
"By the way, thanks for giving me a hand, MarineAngemon. I couldn't have won this battle without your help." Huckbein said.
"No problem!" MarineAngemon replied. "If you ever need any more help, you're free to visit me at my home."
"We'll be sure to remember that." Gaius replied back. "Baihumon, do you still have enough energy to warp us back to Digi-Central?"
"Not to worry, I still have plenty of energy left to perform that task." Baihumon answered.
"Have a safe trip back!" MarineAngemon smiled and waved.
"Take care of yourself, see you next time!" Kanade replied as she and the others waved back while Baihumon used his powers to warp the team back to Digi-Central.
Unknown to everyone however, a certain short red-haired humanoid Royal Knight had watched the whole scene from afar, which happens to be Gankoomon. "You've grown strong since you left on your own journey under my order. It seems you finally have the answer you're looking for on why you need to become a Royal Knight. I have nothing left to teach you, my disciple. You're free to walk your own path. As long as you're with your fellow Tamer and his friends, then I have nothing to worry about." Gankoomon thought with a proud smile before walking away. "May our paths cross again someday… Royal Knight Jesmon."

Author's Note: Well, this is it. The final chapter of this Book is upon us. With the three Observers rescued, only one remains, located at the Lava River. And if you remember the previous chapter, Another Ex-Aid will be standing guard to make things difficult for the heroes to purify the corrupted Observer.
On the bright side, Zeo, Akira, Gaius and even Cecilia's Digimon partners reached Ultimate Level, with the latter two being Royal Knights. Will this be enough to stop Another Ex-Aid and purify the remaining Observer? Only time will tell in the final chapter.
