Nikita scowled as she looked at herself in the mirror; it wasn't as if her current appearance was something horrible to look at, in truth she liked her new appearance, and since her metamorphamagus powers hadn't left after the essence ritual had taken place she could escape the organisation she was trying to escape from even if she had spent 7 years in Ilvermorny before jumping between the No-Maj world and the magical world, and becoming a whole new person had given her a lease of life she'd never had before when her old self was just so bogged down by the entire stress of the hell her life had almost become, she could have done without her old Potter luck curse taking hold of her like that.
Just what was it about her, was she cursed by a higher power greater than Dumbledore? Was it a way of getting back at her ancestors? Or was it just something in the Potter genome that meant everything bad could happen, and would always happen?
As an expert of curses, which went back years and years, Nikita was more than aware such enchantments could happen, but she had looked.
Nikita looked around the apartment she had gotten. It was nicely but simply decorated, with a contrast of styles and items; in one corner was a computer screen, which she'd set up using her training, and a little further away was the runic array she had set up a while back to keep herself hidden while she was free to work with No-Maj technology.
Nikita was a former spy and assassin. She was also a witch, well she had originally been a wizard. Nikita's original name was once Harry Potter, and when she had been a year old - in her original life - she had been hit with a killing curse, but thanks to the protective runes her mother had left on her and the blood-based sacrifice she had used.
Sometimes, in her darker moments, Nikita often wondered if her mother would have bothered sacrificing herself if she had known what would happen soon.
Nikita's former self was sent to her mother's family, where she was treated worse than dirt, forced to a life of slavery, being told her parents hadn't wanted her, needed to earn her keep and crap like that, while trying to think of a way to escape, and not being able to. It wouldn't be until she'd neared her original seventh birthday she learnt of the magical world, and how a manipulative old meddler called Albus Dumbledore had decided to play god and leave her with the Dursleys, placing enchantments on her to keep her at the Dursleys, regardless of the damage it was causing. She would later learn her mother's protective spells, while effective, didn't mean she was meant to be indestructible.
As she went through her original years at Hogwarts, Nikita's former incarnation hid their metamorphamagus powers which were unlocked with a trip to Gringotts, the Wizard's bank. She'd discovered that she had the power to change her form, but she was only able to transform a limited part of herself; there were enchantments on herself to stop several of her magical abilities, because Dumbledore didn't want her to become more powerful than he was himself, the old fuck.
But the goblins unleashed her powers, and with a bit of practice, Nikita took her game/hobby/investigation to a whole new level. When she had discovered her powers were emotionally controlled, it didn't take long for her to master several of them to make life bearable from the Dursley's abuse, it wasn't any different from her metamorphing powers. But she was only able to transform a quarter or even a third of her body; she transformed into Vernon Dursley, Petunia, Malcolm (a Neanderthal friend of her cousin), and a few teachers, but then she discovered she had a love of transforming into girls.
Just for a moment, Harry could be someone else.
When she got to Hogwarts, she found the Room of Requirement in her first week after asking the goblins if there was at least a place in Hogwarts where she could get some peace, and learn magic without Dumbledore's interference. Even now Nikita didn't know how they knew it, but she was glad they did. The Room of Requirement was a tesseract outside the laws of time and space, like the TARDIS out of Doctor Who, and it made her time in Hogwarts more bearable.
Without the Room of Requirement, she would never have discovered the secrets of immortality, essence transfer, and the magical science of the soul moving from one body to the next.
And without the Room of Requirement, she would never have discovered she preferred being a girl to being a boy. Nikita had always heard crap about people mocking transgender people because they were not alike, but in her mind, if you altered the hormonal levels in the body, acceptance was much greater. And being a metamorphamagus helped greatly, and she found herself transforming more and more into a female form she wanted, and because a metamorphamagus was a walking transfiguration, everything changed about her male body; she had a fully functional womb, pumping chemicals throughout her body.
Turning female was more than enough to make her relieve the stress she was constantly under at Hogwarts. Thanks to the goblins advice, Nikita's former incarnation had been able to intimidate the Dursleys into signing a form that would let her leave the castle should the need call for it. In her fourth year, she decided to do just that after she had participated in a dangerous magical contest that told her who she could trust and who she couldn't.
She learned her godfather didn't care for her, in fact, none of her parent's friends did, and everyone thought she had cheated to get into the games.
Turning female and walking freely about the castle as an unmarked student was fun since she could be someone different, and in that year she discovered something about herself.
She discovered she loved sex as a girl. As with many things, Nikita hadn't originally planned it out, it just simply happened and she'd gone with the flow. She had learnt of a sex party on the Durmstrang ship, and she had spontaneously decided to go to it, simply to unwind. That night, she'd found herself with several other students from Hogwarts and Beauxbatons, and by the end of it, she joined the other girls in shrieking in pleasure, as her virginity was ripped and she became a woman.
A woman, and she loved it.
But even then, her happiness did not last because she was lucky to survive when Lord Voldemort returned to power. The good thing was she was smart enough to learn how to project the whole thing to Hogwarts and the magical world so then they opened their eyes and realised the Dark Lord had never died.
As Harry, she was lucky to escape, but just before the students were due to return home, she went into the Room of Requirement once more and learnt how Voldemort had become immortal. Learning the Dark Lord had left a piece of himself in her infamous curse scar was horrifying, but Nikita was relieved there was a way around it. But she had also wanted something more. Nikita learnt how to become immortal herself, after looking up the methods.
In her first year, Nikita had been roped into saving a powerful and dangerous magical artefact, called the Philosopher's Stone. It was seen as an alchemist's wet dream, as it contained the means to become immortal and transform metals into gold. But it was a con. Harry had often wondered why the people who made it would just put it in a bank, and let someone else have it. Why would they do that, if it was their ticket to living forever?
Answer and conclusion, it wasn't.
The stone was a con.
It was capable of transforming metals into gold, but that was it. The problem with alchemy was while you could form potions to make metals into gold, and become partly immortal, you couldn't combine the two. And many had tried for centuries. The Flamels were the latest in a long line, and they failed and struggled for years before giving up for good. In the end, they were both old and they were getting weak, but their obsession for immortality and fame was all-encompassing, and they used a method of immortality known at the time. Essence transfer. Creating clones of their original bodies and making sure the original DNA was stored safely and secretly, the Flamels transferred their souls to two new bodies. Nikita had used the same method; she had created a clone of her original body, although she had added the DNA of a muggle girl who lived in London after she'd done some research, but this time she made sure the clone's gender was female while the piece of Voldemort's soul was removed and it drained every single piece of Voldemort left and wipe out the Death Eaters.
While the magical world was horrified by the sudden death of Harry Potter, Nikita Potter survived and was sent to America, to her family in the MACUSA. The American Potters didn't know the truth, all they thought they knew was Harry had gotten together with a muggle-born or a muggle, and they'd stayed in touch, but then something happened to the mother, and they'd had a kid nobody else knew about; there was more than enough proof of that since Voldemort had unleashed a number of attacks. And since Harry Potter was a target, Voldemort could have found out about her.
Nikita was brought up in the MACUSA by her American family, but she had been so taken by her new lease of life she had been a troublemaker at both schools, and she had often gone into the No-Maj world to have fun, although she always made sure to be extremely careful.
Unfortunately, during one of her nights of fun, where she used her magic to steal, she was accidentally caught by the No-Maj's. She could have easily escaped, but since she was under close watch, she didn't want to risk it. She was taken in and trained by a No-Maj organisation of spies and assassins. But the good news was she had kept her activities from her family, she was a grown woman after all, and she was seen as a scholar even if she was sorted into Thunderbird House, at Ilvermorny.
But then she'd decided to put her plan in operation. She had seen into the minds of the No-Maj's, and decided they were better off wiped out, and she had deliberately fucked one of her missions up, and she was classed as a liability. And she had been wiping them out and undermining their plans since.
No, the reason why she was scowling at herself, was simply because she wished she had done something else.
