CHAPTER 1
PROLOGUE: ACT 1
THE OUTLANDERS WHO CAUGHT THE WIND
?*'s POV:
?: "So… what you're trying to say is that you fell here from another world? But when you wanted to leave and go on to the next world your path was blocked by some unknown god?"
The floating little girl summarized to confirm that she has caught up with the story that I told her then I continued.
?*: "Yes, after that my brother was taken away by the unknown god, they also cast some kind of seal upon me which make me lost my power to travel from world to world and now we're stuck here. How many years have gone by? I don't know but I'm intended to find out."
As I finished, I took a moment to stop and wait for my companion's questions, the moment passed but she didn't say anything, so I continued.
?*: "I was all alone for a long time until I met you and fished you out of that pond."
?: "Yeah, Paimon really owes you for that. Otherwise, Paimon would have drowned. So, I will try my best to be a great guide for you in this world!"
Said Paimon while making a confidence pose by placing both of her hands on her hip and continued.
Paimon: "Paimon knows you're ready to depart but before that we should wake up the two strangers we rescued first, they should start to wake up about now."
I looked back to see the pair of strangers still asleep then looked back to Paimon and spoke.
?*: "They don't look like they've awakened yet, let's just sit here feels the fresh sea breeze and relax for a bit, we've just wake up for a little while ago my mind is still a bit fuzzy."
As I finished, Paimon continued in a cheery tone.
Paimon: "Ok, I'll sit with you until you're ready."
Paimon then floated onto my right shoulder and sat down on it. Both of us stared at the sea and relaxed, my mind goes back to yesterday when I rescued a pair of strangers.
It was just a normal uneventful evening at our temporary camp on the beach coast, I was sitting at the fireplace with Paimon cooking the freshly caught fish for our dinner. That was when Paimon saw a large black shadow under the sea surface approaching, she instantly alerted me which made me draw my sword and get into fighting stance while Paimon hid.
I patiently waited for any movement from it but as the shadow was fully out of water it just stayed there. So, I waited for a bit longer but it still didn't bulge, which forced me to get closer to inspect it to make sure that it wasn't a threat. I grabbed a burning wooden stick out of the fireplace to light the way. I carefully approached the black shadow to get close enough to interact with it through my sword but unfortunately, I was not close enough to see it then I poked my sword at it.
The sword contacted the shadow but it still didn't give out any reaction, I proceeded to tap it with the sword a few more times, the sounds I heard were of wooden planks and iron. My mind eased because I thought it was not a threat, maybe just a chest that fell out of a cargo ship or some kind of scrap drifted here. I got up close to examine the object but as the light from the burning stick revealed a blue wooden chest, it also unveiled some kind of monster which the chest is attached to.
I freaked out, the monster is big, its mouth is big enough to bite me into two pieces, large limbs and claws that can maul me to death. I instinctively retreat and get back to my fighting stance again, but the monster still lay there unmoving. I thought maybe it was dead or unconscious and I needed to take this chance and run away immediately.
But I can't get my legs moving not because of fear but because of a strong urge to get closer. I can't help but feel like there's something alluring where the monster's lying down, something I must take a hold of or at least get to see a glimpse of it.
So, I hesitantly approached the monster to see it was lying in a fetus position hugging something. I got even closer to have a clear view of what it was protecting, turns out the beast was hugging a girl in thick black armored hide clothing with a large rim hat decorated with a large feather, somehow the hat still stays in place even though the girl drifted here. Then I got closer to the girl to check on her, she was still breathing, but she was drenched. I decided to separate the girl from the monster and dragged them back to camp.
I decided to take the monster along with us because it looked like it was protecting her. And after my mind is cleared, I think that if they attached chest to the monster then it should be tamed, it should be the girl's companion.
When we reached the camp, I tried to undress the girl to dry her clothes on a makeshift rack that I made from large branches on the beach, it took me a whole hour just to undress her. Why is her clothing so complicated is lost on me, if the maker of these clothes was here, I would slap them across the face with all my strength because the number of buttons, latches and belts I have to undo is ridiculously absurd. After all was done, I continued my meal while explaining the situation to Paimon, then we both went to bed.
Continuing with my flow of thought on yesterday's event, I started to look back to the details of the strangers I rescued.
?*: {These strangers... They are weird to say the least, the girl is quite young, and she should be a knight since she was wearing high quality armored thick hide clothes which I have not seen normal civilian wear. But Paimon said that she has never seen anyone from any of the nation wearing anything like her, the same goes for the beast.
There're two metal plates with two unfamiliar emblems on the armor. On the right metal plating is a shield split down the middle into two sections, on the left there's a dragon on top and under it there's three stars in the sky and under the star there's the sea and a boat. On the right there's also a dragon on top and under it is an encased cross symbol with four square rhombuses in the open space of the cross, both the dragons are breathing out fire at each other. There's a twinkling star where the two dragons meet and under all of it is a third longer dragon carrying everything on its back. The left plate has a similar emblem of a shield with a large dragon on top breathing fire out of its mouth and another twinkling star in the place where the dragon and the shield meet.
She also wore a pair of two different gauntlets. One of them is a light grey gauntlet that has various symmetrical markings, drawings and grooves. On the back of the gauntlet there's also a symmetrical image of a person riding on a dragon encasing a socket with a light blue gem. The other gauntlet is a contraption with two animal horns on the side and one on the top mounted on the wrist armor, there's a hole with an arrow loaded in the front. So a wrist mounted crossbow, if that's the case then I wish I could have one too, it'll be very useful in fights as I have ranged options available to me and it looks really cool.
On the belt there's a lantern but unlike a normal lantern it has the glass replaced with metal frame, but the horizontal metal bars of the casing are too cramp which could blocked some of the light, there's a long metal cylinder in the middle where burner supposed to be, on the cylinder are long oval holes that are glowing a soft green hue. She also carries a large cleaned raw gem that is glowing in a sliver color, it's attached to the main belt by a set of three belts that goes all around the crystal.
The girl herself has a young, beautiful and calming face but there's a small scar on her lip and a set of three scars on her left eye, which could be from fighting wild animals, most likely a wolf.
Her hair style is unique, all of the hair are braided except for two curls in the front, most of them weaved together into a large braid in the back of her head, the other braids modeled into what seems like a pair of cat ear, the two curls of straight hair hang in front of her face between the ears and the eyes, the braided hair is smoky white, the same goes for the curls but they gradually turn into black the nearer they are to the end of the hair.
Her body is well-built and proportioned with defined muscles, she's quite tall which is about two heads taller than me, there are a lot of large scars all over her body but most of them are covered by her underwear. I must say she looks gorgeously splendid if she didn't have scars all over her body and have less defined muscles then I can imagine a crowd of men lining up to ask her out.
Then there's the knight's companion which is a strange quadrupedal beast, it's quite large and as tall as the knight. It's covered in thick black scaly armorlike skin, the scale slowly turns to a bone white color the nearer it is to the top of small spikes on the back. There's also vents on four of its limbs and back which serves an unknown purpose but if I must take a guess then it must be there for the beast to regulate heat, an animal of this size would put out lots of heat.
The limbs of the beast all have four toes with thick sharp bone white talons. Its tail is long and thick, the armor on the tail is lighter in color compared to the rest of its body but and covered in thicker but smaller amor. The tail creates a wide spade shape at the end.
Its face is strange, it looks like a cat face, but the mouth is armored, it has big fangs that get smaller the closer it's to the middle of the mouth. On its head is a pair of dense bone white stags that have smaller dense stags sprout out from it.
They carried two chests that were attached to the beast's harness. The chest is made of wood and reinforced with iron frame, it was painted in blue with a white emblem drew on the wood panel under the lock, it's a more detailed and decorated version of the cross symbol on the armor plating, each square is a different symbol.
The symbol on top looks like a pickaxe with three set of heads with the largest head wedged in-between the two smaller heads. The left symbol is a plant put into a pot and three arrows point upward. The one on the right is a windmill with four wings. I don't know what the fourth symbol on the bottom is, but it looks like a string weaving around a pole. They look like they're each symbolize something, but I can't understand what each of them mean.}
I then decided to stop thinking and let my mind relax, a moment later I felt someone's hand touching my other shoulder, I was startled and jumped off the rock I was sitting on which launched Paimon off me and I landed on my rear. Then Paimon floated behind my back while I was still wincing from the pain to hide, then I looked up to see the girl who was now awakened and was making a deep bow to apologize. Then she stood back up, leaning toward me with an extended hand offering to help me stand back up.
I stood up with her help and dusted off the sand on my clothes then looked at the girl, she extended her hand again and I grabbed it with my hand then she proceeded to shake it to greet me then she spoke.
I expected her to say something along the line of "thank you for saving me" or "sorry for startled you" or demanding me to explain the situation that she is in like "where am I?" or "what happened?", but she just spoke gibberish instead. That made me express visual confusion and prompted her to make the same expression as me.
?#'s POV:
I grunted and opened my eyes letting sun rays in as it temporarily impaired my vision. A few seconds passed and my vision was restored, I immediately surveyed my surroundings to see that I'm currently in an unfamiliar place laying in front of a campfire on a coast and there's a pathway leading to a short waterfall on my left. The unfamiliar scenery caused me to panic but I managed to keep a cool head and try to search through my memory for details of how I ended up here.
?#: {Alright first thing first, what happened? The last thing I remembered was with Utsushi and Akusei my Onyx Magnamalo, Mochi my Palico and Wheat my Palamute when we were fighting Amatsu.
Utsushi was performing Mounted Punishers with an Apex Zinogre and I was waiting to do a follow up Kinship skill with Akusei, Mochi and Wheat supporting us on the side with their gadgets. The armor shielding the Storm Vesicle was torn away by the Apex Zinogre leaving Amatsu staggered, that was the opening we were waiting for.
I jumped on Akusei's saddle located on his hindlegs and activated the Kinship gauntlet, letting its parts sprout out to release all the energy it has accumulated toward myself and Akusei. Feeling the power surge, Akusei sprang out all the spikes on his back and opened all the vents. The leftover energy went to me which I used power up the shield and charge the phials on the sword.
When we're fully charged and prepared, Akusei jumped on up to the sky releasing a large amount of Hellfire dust from his front limbs then exploded them to propel himself toward Amatsu, the explosive boost also adds more strength to the attack.
When he came into range, Akusei flexed his tail muscles to reveal all the blades on the tail which form a trident and open all the vents. He spun himself in midair and stabbed his trident shape tail into the unshielded Storm Vesicle, dousing it in Hellfire dust then he detonated it which launched Amatsu backward while throwing me off him in the process.
I put the sword with charged phials into the powered shield preparing for a Super Amped Elemental Discharge when I was about to hit the ground. Thanks to Akusei's attack, Amatsu was pushed into the most ideal position for me to strike which is right under me and just in the perfect distance for a S.A.E.D to hit all the energy discharge waves.
Before I hit the ground, I pushed the button and transformed the sword and shield form into the axe form and hit Amatsu. The initial hit with axe mode slammed right into the Storm Vesicle, then the elemental discharge waves is sent straight inside Amatsu's body.
Amatsu let out one final roar using all the energy it has left for one final attack. It dragged its battered body off the ground and flew in circle forming one last tornado trying to suck us all in. Utsushi was able to use the artillery to stop it, but Amatsu was able to form the tornado before that and as it falls, it used its tail to direct the tornado at me.
Although I'm exhausted, my legs have given up on me and turned to paste, I also lost the feeling in my arms, but I tried to get away from the tornado anyway. Akusei is in the same state of tiredness as me, we both have condensed too much energy for the last attack and now we're partially paralyzed.
Utsushi ran toward me and guided his wirebug to me and I tried to grab it as the tornado was just a few steps away from us, Mochi tried to use the nets from the pitfall traps to drag Akusei back with Wheat help. But all of them failed, the wirebug wasn't fast enough it came too late, the nets weren't holding onto Akusei properly and all of them slipped off him, then the tornado consumed us before they could do anything.
While we were suspended in the air, Akusei managed to get a hold of me, he enveloped me with his body and we both braced for impact when the tornado spit us out. I had anticipated a rough landing, but I heard water splashing loudly and then there's water everywhere drowning me, my consciousness slowly faded away. And now I've wake up at a coast.}
Then a sea breeze hit me cutting off my thoughts, I felt cold which made me look down at my body to see that I'm currently in my underwear without my armor and tools which also leads me to remember my currently missing companion.
?#: {Ok, problems to solve: Where am I? Where is Akusei? Why am I in my underwear? Where are my belongings? And how can I go back to Kamura from here?}
I made a mental list of problems to myself as I stood up and darted my eyes around to take in more of my current surroundings and look for my companion. Luckily, I saw him just sleeping behind me, I also see my male Brigade Alpha armor set sitting on a makeshift clothes rack made out of sticks, the rack is placed next to the fireplace for my clothing to dry. This choice of clothing has made many people asked me why I didn't just use the female version, I'd say the male version look a whole lot cooler than the female one and I can choose what I like to wear. Ending the recall of my memory, I can see under the rack is the two chest we brought with us, they look to be intact as there is no visible damage done to the chest and the lock is still in great condition.
Then I look around to see two strangers sitting on a rock on the coast, near the water. They are sitting with their backs turned to me, so I get a look at them.
Both are girls and they wear white clothes with a bit of metal detail which is bronze in color for the smaller one with white hair and golden bronze for the taller blonde one.
The taller girl has blonde short hair with two curls of hair hanging in front, some flower and feathers is sticking out of her hair. She's wearing a dress that seems to be light and maneuverable, she is also wearing a pair of short heels.
?#: {A traveler? *Hmm* The dress is unarmored and quite thin, unfit for combat. She's also wearing heels, no one would wear heels for a fight. She also doesn't have any weapon on her, the clothing is too thin to hide anything in it.}
The other girl is bizarre, she's extremely small as small as a doll that kids play with, there's a bronze tiara somehow floating above her head, she's wearing a baby clothing, the most bizarre thing about her is that she's floating without string or anything else to suspend her in the air. Then I saw her fly next to her companion and sat down on their shoulder.
After having a good look at the pair of travelers, I decided to go over my current situation to decide whether we should ask them for aid or not.
?#: {So, Akusei and I are in unfamiliar territory unconscious and look like we drifted to the coast and saved by these two. They're good people as they didn't try to restrain us or steal anything as the two chests were untouched and left us next to a campfire to warm ourselves. I should greet them and ask for more information about our current situation.}
I then stood up and walk toward them, I placed my hand on the taller blonde girl's other shoulder which surprised her, and she jumped off the rock that she's sitting on then fall to the ground landing on her behind. Her floating friend also got surprised by me as she got thrown off the girl's shoulder, but she rebalanced herself and floated back to her companion to hide from me.
My sight focused on the blonde girl who seem to get hurt a bit from the fall, I bow down to apologize her and extend my hand out to help her up. After I helped her stand up and got a clear look at both of my saviors' faces; the smaller girl has a young childish face which is quite fitting since she has the body of a baby. The blonde girl's visage made me blushed a bit which I hope her don't notice, while being amazed by the blonde's beauty, I let loose a thought.
?#: {Oh my ~, oh my ~, aren't you a gorgeous cutie.}
I realized what I was thinking about and slapped both of my cheeks with my hands twice to get my mind to focus back on the current situation. And I reached out again to shake her hand and said hello to her.
?#: "Good morning strangers, thank you both for rescuing both me and my companion from danger and taking care of us. I'd like to repay you both, I'm very thankful for the things you have done for me and my companion. But I must first ask how we arrived here, where exactly is this place and how can we return to either Dundorma, Astera or Seliana, if you don't know any of that then can you please point me to the nearest establishment of the Guild."
But instead of receiving an answer, what hit my ears was a strange language I had never heard before and confusion was evident on both girls' faces.
?*'s POV:
Paimon: "What's the language she's talking in? Paimon have never heard anything like this before."
?*: "Yeah, I have never heard anything like it too."
The girl's voice was not something I was expecting, she has a clear voice though it's a bit hoarse, but I can still feel the softness in her voice with a hint of confidence. But I am more confused by the knight's language, while I was wandering about the strange language, I remembered all the details about the knight. Strange armor, strange beast companion, unknown symbols on nearly everything she had.
?*: {Are they just like me? Travelers from another world? That … would make sense consider her strange armor and companion. Then that means I'm not alone anymore, there's someone else like me here, a kindred soul.}
My confusion replaced a happy smile which caught the attention of Paimon and the knight.
Paimon: "Why are you smiling traveler?"
Said Paimon while the knight gives me a weird and confused look.
?*: "Oh, uhh, nothing nothing."
?*: "I was just thinking how we could communicate with miss knight since we don't speak the same language so we could try using body language and gestures."
?*: "Yeah, Paimon think that could work, can't hurt to try, right?"
After the conversation concluded, I raised my hand up which got the girl's attention then I waved. Seeing this, she waved back at me. Then I stopped and used my Index finger to point at myself and I introduced myself.
?*: "Lumine."
I continued by pointing to Paimon.
Lumine: "Paimon."
Paimon: "Hello!"
Paimon excitedly said and waved both of her hands at the knight as I introduced her name.
?#: "Zahra."
The knight said with a smile while having one hand on the hip and the other one pointing to herself with the thumb.
Then she slowly walked back to camp as we followed her, she stopped beside her companion and pointed at him.
Zahra: "Akusei."
She said while leaning on the beast and patting it on the shoulder. Then she tried to wake Akusei up by repeatedly pushing it which kind of worked because it opened its eyes to look at us. But then instead of standing up, it rolled to the side and continued to sleep. She continued to try to physically wake the beast up while talking to it.
Zahra: "*Gruugghh* Come on bud, come on, wake up, *Huurrgk* the sun's already been out for a while now. *Uurrgh* Come on wake up already."
But Akusei decided to ignore her and keep on sleeping so Zahra stood up with a long sigh and spoke.
Zahra: "*Sigh* Alright bud you forced me to do this."
She reapproaches Akusei and started to tickle it which made it thrash around like an annoyed kid, they made me giggle seeing the two playing around. After a moment both stood up, Akusei let out an annoyed growl at Zahra then it approached us. Paimon was the first one it went to; it stuck its face near her and started sniffing which Paimon give out a weak hello.
Paimon: "He-He-Hello, ni-nice to meet you. I'm Paimon, le-let's be friends."
Then Akusei let out a soft growl to greet Paimon, but Paimon panicked instead.
Paimon: "Gahhh, please don't eat me."
Paimon quickly said that before flying behind me to hide. Akusei then approached me and did the same thing it did to Paimon. But instead of running off like Paimon, I reach out a hand and scratch Akusei under the neck which he does a high pitch growl, he seems to be enjoying it. Then Zahra came to join us and caressed Akusei's cheek and talked to it.
Zahra: "You like them bud? They're the one who saved us so be nice to them ok?"
I don't know what she is talking but I can see Akusei growl softly and nodding to her. Then Paimon chimed in.
Paimon: "Hey Lumine, we should get going. Mondstadt is near and it's going to be midday soon, we'll make it there soon and have lunch there, none of us have eat anything yet especially the other two."
Lumine: "Ok, I'll try to tell her. Zahra!"
She turned around as I called, I then pointed my finger at her stuff and did some action to tell her to pack up her stuff. First, I use one of my hands holding on to an imaginary backpack while the other picks up things and puts them in the non-existing backpack, then I fling the backpack on my pack and point my finger toward to waterfall and walking in place. I think she understood me as she gave me a thumbs up and walked towards the drying rack.
She processed to check her clothes to see that they had dried, satisfied with the condition of her clothing, she put it on. While she puts on the armor, I can hear a lot of metallic clicking sounds and sounds of leather belts dragging through the buckles and scrubbing against the armor. After about two minutes, she's done.
Lumine: {Two minutes, TWO GOD-DAM MI-NUTES, that was all the time she needed to put on the damn thing while I wasted a whole hour just to get it all off. Now I really want to give whoever made the outfit a knockout punch.}
Zahra's POV:
I finished packing up my stuff and now I'm just attaching the two chests to Akusei's harness. I have decided to go with them because what else am I supposed to do? I don't speak her language but at least we can talk somewhat through body language.
Zahra: {So asking detailed questions is out of the picture with none of us able to understand each other. Welp … shit … *Haaahhhhh* guess I'll just tag along with them, look for some help. In case getting back isn't possible then at least I can buy or rent a place to stay. And I should buy them a meal, some protection gear and weapons or tools for their travel needs, they've saved us after all. And ... done, now let's signal her to start moving.}
Zahra: "Lumine!"
My new companion waved at me as I called them and pointed to the direction of our journey. Which is toward the waterfall. We started walking, Lumine and Paimon in the front since they're the ones who know where we need to go, me and Akusei just stroll along behind them.
We stopped before the waterfall and I got to see another bizarre thing, a pillar made of refined and cut stones wrapping around the top and bottom of some sort of long red crystal adorned with gold finishes half buried in the ground for no apparent reason. Lumine approached it and as she lays her hand on it, it starts to float and shines in a deep blue color. I got close to inspecting it, same as Paimon the pillar float without any string to suspend it, no support beams to hold it in the air.
Zahra: {Welp, I'm going to see more and more weird, inexplicable shits which all are possibly straight up magic on this journey aren't I. *Tsk* Just my luck.}
I finished my thought as we climbed the ledge that led to the waterfall, following the trail to a cliff that gave us a clear view of the land. Paimon and Lumine were in front of us, and they were in awe of the scenery of the land, so I caught up to them to have a look myself.
Zahra: {Woah-ho-ho-ho, it's … so beautiful and calm, feel like I'm seeing the New World for the first time all over again but less grand and more peaceful AND there is no gigantic turtle with a big ass lava mountain on its back to throw me off my ship this time around.}
I can see a large pond with a small piece of land in front of us, it has a pillar erected in the middle of it. Further out I can see a city with lots of windmills, a large church in the back, housing with red roofs in between them. Nature surrounds them with beautifully lush green and yellow trees.
I stood there taking in the scenery with Akusei standing next to me purring in delight, then a moment later Lumine tugged my hand to tell me to move again which I nodded, and she let go of my hand, I whistle to Akusei and all of us continued our journey again.
We went to the pond with the statue first to examine it first but myself and Akusei decided to wait for them instead of swimming over. Now that I'm closer to the pillar, I can see it has a metal coating on the base and has a statue of a person on top of it, the statue is wearing a piece of fabric instead of normal clothing and has a pair of wings, it's also holding an orb.
Lumine then put her hand on the metal part of the pillar which made the statue's orb glow a bright turquoise green color. When the light dies down, a bright turquoise orb with a symbol of a pair of wings flies out of the orb and into Lumine's body. Then Paimon and her start chatting like it's an everyday occurrence.
Lumine's POV:
Paimon: "Oh, look like you have channeled one of the elements of this world. Can you feel it?"
Lumine: "Yes, I can when I feel it, it makes me feels lighter and more relax."
I said while summoning wind currents and playing with them.
Paimon: "Yup, that's the power of Anemo. And it also gives you Elemental Sight which helps your different aspect of the environment and other elements."
As Paimon said this, I immediately focus the power and moment later, I can see things being highlighted by their respective element, the lake with blue color to signify Hydro; the statue with turquoise color to signify Anemo.
Lumine: "I see, this will be very useful for our journey."
Paimon: "What? You've already able to use it? You sure are a quick learner, aren't you?"
Paimon: "And for a bit of information, denizens of this world don't get this kind of power that easy whether they like it or not. But for you, a touch on the statue is all you need."
Lumine: "It's because I'm not from this world isn't it."
Paimon: "That's right. Oh, and the few who are blessed with this power are called Vision bearers, that's because they're given an ornament called Vision that helps them channel the element engraved on the Vision."
Lumine: "Wait then Zahra can also have this power then, she's also a person from another world like me. It'll surely help her in the future."
Paimon: "Ehhh, What, really!? If that so, why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Lumine: "I mean weird clothing and tools with foreign symbols, speaking unknown language and Akusei. It's quite easy to tell that they're from a different world, especially someone with knowledge of this world like you Paimon."
I said while making a deadpan face. She doesn't realize that, seriously? But I'm the one who withholds information so can I really blame her?
Paimon: "Now that you mentioned it, Paimon can see it too now. So, you want to help her because she's also a traveler from another world like you right?"
Lumine: "That's right!"
Paimon: "You sure are enthusiastic about this aren't you? Well, I suppose when someone like you lost the only family you have, stranded on an unfamiliar land and being alone for a long time can really make you long for someone like yourself right? It gives you a feeling of familiarity and comfort to hold on to while wandering this foreign land, doesn't it?"
Lumine: "… Yes, but you're still my friend so don't you worry that I'll abandon or forget about you, ok?"
Paimon: "Yeah of course Paimon knows. Lumine, you're obviously not that kind of person... *Sigh* Paimon must confess, I know how you felt to be the only of your kind cause it's the same for Paimon too you know? I have never met anyone like me before, so I've felt very lonely for a long time BUT … meeting you have made that feeling faded away … ANYWAY! We should get Zahra over here and get this done with, Paimon want to try Mondstadt food as soon as possible."
Paimon little confession has squeezed a soft smile out of me. I felt much better, it's good to have someone who understands you in tough times to share things with.
Lumine: "Ok let me get her, no need to rush, food can't suddenly come alive and run away."
As if on cue, pyro slimes jumped on us, but it didn't catch me by surprise as I hit the tackling slime back to the group the newfound power.
Zahra's POV:
Some red blobs with eyes pop out of the ground and stop their conversation, one of them tried to tackle Lumine but she somehow makes turquoise wind current come out of her hand and land the red blob back to its friends. Then she draws her sword out of nowhere and slashes the blobs.
She uses the wind magic thing again but this time one of the blobs lit up in flame and she continue to hold the magic instead of letting it go like last time. The result of the wind magic meeting a flaming blob is flame explode everywhere.
When the blobs grouped up, she jumps up, takes a spin in the air then slashes her sword in the direction of the group of red blobs and a tornado flies out, it sweeps them all into the water.
As the blobs touch the water, they instantly die even though some of them were still in good condition in the fight. Even weirder they exploded as they die, leaving nothing of themselves on the ground. Lumine sheathed her sword by letting it float on her back then I see it dissolve into golden mist.
Zahra: {Yup … I jinxed it, GOD-DAM-MIT. With that little performance from Lumine, I got more info about this place. I'm in another world entirely just like the case of Geralt of Rivia and the Leshen in the New World. On top of that I'm in a world where magic is a completely normal thing. I just hope I can find a way back.}
Lumine: "Hey! Zahra, Zahra!"
My train of thought end by Lumine call. I let out sigh and motion for Akusei to stay while I swim to her.
Zahra: {I've just had clean clothing for a while and now I'm all wet again.}
I mentally complained as I got to the small land where the statue is, Lumine ran up to me, took my hand and excitedly ran toward the statue. She put my hand in the place where she had previously placed her hand on.
The orb lit up again and as it dies down, the magic orb flies out again and flies toward my body. But as it goes near my body, it fades away, disintegrating into black smoke with cracking red lightning as it enters my body forcefully jammed itself into my body. All the armor I wore didn't stop it; it wasn't even hindered by my clothing and then I only felt sharp pain crawling in my skin, wiggling into my body.

Then everything stopped and went back to normal just for a moment. Like the calm before the storm, after that moment passed, everything went wrong.
I feel my body convulsing, stretching, jittering like I have just been injected with concentrated paralyzing powder of ten whole paratoad which caused me to lose control of my body and drop down on my knees, but I was still able to use my hand to support my body instead of lying flat on the ground.
My head hurts like a Radobaan have just slammed its thorny bone covered chin on my head, crushing it like it was hammering a nail into a full block of iron.
My throat is clogged in slimy substance then the next moment it feels like it's being melted down, like it was filled with burning molten metal.
My eyes are crumbling like a charred tree's remains, my vision faded into emptiness.
My heart swelled uncontrollably but it can't as something is compressing it causing great continuous pain.
My lungs are heavy and there's constant movement inside of it, it feels like someone stuffed a pair of Volvidon into each of my lungs and feed them Mega Demondrug to make them roll like crazy.
My nostrils hit with freezing waves with every breath I took as if a Velkhana is blasting its Ice Beam straight into my nostrils preventing me from breathing.
My stomach is being punctured in all directions at random while something is combusting in the center.
Then my mind gone wild, I started to hallucinate, I was in a cavern deep underground, one that I remembered, it was the battleground with Safi'jiiva where it made its last stand.
Then the next thing I knew, I was lying next to its head, corpses of troublemaking Elders Dragons that have been killed by me are also here with Safi'jiiva. All their eyes were dull, blank, devoid of life, but blood was pouring out from the eye sockets like it was sentience and creeped up to me.
I didn't run, I just lay there, looked at it and blinked then everything turned into a sea of crimson red, and I am floating on the surface without any limb. Then I turned on my back toward the darkly red and endless sky, my face goes under the sea surface.
In the murky, bloody crimson depth, a set of scarlet eyes looked at me somehow able to be distinct amidst the blood sea, then there's the head that the eyes belong to, a pale white head lowly reveal itself in this sea of red. It belongs to The White Fatalis and it is staring straight at me.
The draconic gaze illuminated and eradicated my body layer by layer. I can feel sharp intolerable pain carving my body into thin slices. After a moment, my body is fully gone but The White Fatalis just keep going until the illuminating gaze is so bright that the entire world turned white.

Lumine's POV:
The orb should have gone inside of her like it did to me and granted her its elemental power, but something went wrong. The orb faded into black smoke and crimson lightning and crawled into her. Then she fell on her knee and started to grunt then scream. I immediately went to check on her in a panic. My hands holding her shoulders, lifting her up straight to see her face then I start to ask her. Paimon was flying around her to check for abnormality.
Lumine: "Ar-are you alright? Are you hurt? Do you feel wrong anywhere?"
Instead of answering, she stopped grunting and screaming but her eyes started to lower more and more.
Lumine: "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, No, No, no, no ... Please don't, please don't. Stay with me. Wake up, please. Talk to me, yell at me, scream out loud, anything please … please."
I desperately said in hope of keeping her awake, but her eyes eventually closed. I instinctively stopped for a moment, gasping for air, trying to stop tears pouring down, keeping my emotions in order. Then I tried to force her eyes to open with my hand just to see a dull and lifeless pair of eyes staring back.
I stopped again, tears poured out uncontrollably, my throat irritated and there's like something is stuck inside of it, my brain became hyperactive focusing solely on the girl that I am holding, while my entire body goes numb. I feel like I'm stuck here at this moment, this nightmare and I'm going to be here for eternity. But I use all my strength to break out of it and I stuttering ask Paimon in hope of her knowledge can save her.
Lumine: "P-P-Paimon, i-is there, is there anything, ANYTHING that can help her?"
Paimon looked at me then looked elsewhere not wanting to maintain eye contact.
Paimon: "I'm, I'm sorry Lumine we can't do anything. There's no herb or medicine that could work."
I desperately continue asking Paimon.
Lumine: "Then, then what about my new elemental power, surely it can help."
Paimon: "I'm sorry Lumine. But we can't do anything about it, only people who are extremely proficient in using Vision through either training or being very talented can use it for healing purposes and you have just acquired it a moment ago."
With Paimon answers and all hope of saving her gone, my hands are tired, so I drop her onto myself for her to lean on. I can only start to talk to myself to calm me down but it's no use, tears keep coming down, there's still something stuck in my throat.
Lumine: "I'm *Uhu hu hu* sorry, I'm I'm *Hic hic* sorry, I didn't want this. I *Sob sob* I didn't wish to harm you. I was, I was just … trying to *Sob sob* help because I know you're like me *Sniff sniff* a traveler … from another world like me. I just want to get close to you and *Hu hu hu* get to know you because *Hic* because you and Paimon are the only ones that are like me here. I'm alone *Sob sob* all alone in this world, my brother is gone, and I'm stranded here. All alone, it's *Uhu hu hu* it's … just me here, all by myself, there's no one else like me here ... I always feel isolated, lonely, forsaken ... until *Sob sob* you *Hic* you guys came in and rid me of those feelings. But I ... I … killed you… I'm sorry *Sniff sniff* I'm sorry."
Then the ground shook, a large shadow covered me entirely, it's Akusei. It's growling loudly in a deep, angered tone then in a flash, it's whipped the tail in front of me slowly pull the blades apart to form a trident pointing directly at me. Paimon fly in front of Akusei face, yelling for it to stop.
Paimon: "Wait, wait, no, stop, stop. We didn't mean to do this. We just wanted to help her. Please stop, plea-."
Akusei didn't care for what Paimon had to say, he let out a thunderous roar knocking Paimon back. It keeps staring down at me, its eyes filled with rage so much so that I feel like it is drilling a hole through me. But Paimon was determined to stop it, she flew back to its face.
Paimon: "No stop, stop. I can't let you hurt her. NO PAIMON REFUSE TO LET YOU HURT HER!"
Akusei had enough of Paimon pestering it, it used one of its front claws and pinned her down. Then it looks back at me while flaring its tail blades out. I just accept its judgement; I did kill its family after all, so I do nothing but sitting there and close my eyes.
